My dashboard cracked right around the airbag.i have concern that when the airbag my deploy it could cause physical harm to the passenger.chevrolet refuses to repair the issue because it is 3 months out of warranty
Vehicle was sitting in our garage, went to crawl in and start up and the dash cracked, we are concerned as it is cracked into the passengers side air bag. .
I saw a red sturdy signal on the dashboard that states, "service airbag soon."then, saw cnn news of the recall and 17 deaths. Can i have my airbag examined and fixed?
We need to sell this vehicle, which our company can not do with an open recall on it - the auction company will not allow it.i called gene messer chevy and spoke with keith & was told they can not repair yet as recall was listed in feb, this is affecting our ability to dispose of vehicle in timely manner.my company is agrisompo north america and the vehicle is located at our lubbock texas office.
This 2014 chevrolet suburban was purchased by my husband in 2017.cracks have started at both top corners of the airbag compartment.according to information found on the internet, this is a common occurrence, gm is aware of it but chooses to ignore it. It seems to me, this type of cracking could effect the performance of the airbag or create a more dangerous situation in case of a wreck.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet suburban. The contact received notification for nhtsa campaign number: 21v054000 (air bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not available. The contact had not experienced a failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
The dash where the airbag connects has cracked. Any time i search the internet for this issue it seams a very high majority have the same issue.
Front drivers seat airbag had to be repaired repaired at chevrolet dealer.

Would get intermittent air bag warning light. Took it to one dealership and found no codes. Later i figured out it would only be on with a passenger in the seat and took it to another dealership where it was found to be the passenger presence module. With the light on the airbag will not deploy. Filed the complaint with gm warranty department as the truck is a 2014 model and only54,000 miles, gm will not warranty or pay for the fix. Had to pay out of pocket to correct this safety feature
This is a recurring problem with my 2014 suburban z-71 4x4, first occurring at 2735 miles, and again at 19,367, 19,420, and 20,435 miles.while driving at or above 45 mph, the vehicle has exhibited the following symptoms:loss of power while the "check engine," "stabiltrak" and "traction control" warning lights appear.the vehicle information center reads "traction control:off / stabiltrak:off" followed by "service traction control" and "service stabiltrak."the readout then shows "engine power reduced."the vehicle will not maintain highway speeds, and requires flooring the accelerator and or shifting the transmission into "manual" mode in order to maintain a safe highway speed.rpms exceed 3500 unless using manual transmission function.after re-starting the vehicle, some or all warning lights eventually disappear, and the vehicle appears to return to normal.when i took the vehicle to the dealer after the first incident, the vehicle was in service for four and a half days, and was returned with the following comments:"...looked into si and found a pip saying wiggle wires at different spots.wiggled wires and drove no problems drove well [sic].no cel on."the tech drove the vehicle for 30 miles and had no problems.a comment on my invoice stated "had pi stating that tech would probably not be able to duplicate concern - checked connectors as per ml." initial response from service department on current problem set is that they plan to replace parts associated with the accelerator.

Several unknown warning lights then became illuminated. The vehicle shuddered and jerked for approximately 30-40 seconds before resuming normal driving. The contact stated that the failure occurred after activating the high-beam headlights. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. After parking the vehicle and turning off the engine when the key is pulled out of the ignition the power doors wont release and power windows wont work. When starting the vehicle and turning back off this fixes the problem.this occurs anywhere and specific to parking the vehicle. The remote start works intermittently. Sometimes it will work and keep the vehicle running and other times it wont work at all.this occurs anywhere and specific to the vehicle parked.for no reason, the clock will reset the time and date so it shows 12:00 for the time and01 01 2005 for the date. This happens no matter if the car has been running then shut off and then driven again or if the car hasn't been driven in a couple of days.these problems have all occurred on different days but have been sporadic and not occurred at the same time.all these problems have been occurring since april of 2019.

Oil consumption due to amf module causes loss of oil.
When turning on the vehicle the lights will power surge.one day the vehicle just didn't start.the next day it started and as i was driving down the road i lost thermostat control, the power locks were involuntarily going up and down, the radio shut off, and the speedometer and gauges all went to the left and were not working.when i finally parked the vehicle i could smell an electrical burning smell.the vehicle was in motion for all of this on a 2 lane road.
This car's fuel efficiency is atrocious. It was advertised as 16-22 mpg but i have never been able to get more than 11 mpg on the highway, it's lower around town. 12 mpg around town. I've taken it in to chevy dealerships and maintenance shops and they say there is nothing they can do. I've owned previous suburbans with 30 gallon gas tanks and can go 600 mikes on a full tank of gas. However, i have to stop for gas with this car after 325-350 miles. It's terrible, especially in long trips.there is something wrong with the fuel usage by this car car and i don't know who to turn to for correction of the problem. If you don't consider this a valid complaint, can you refer me to another organization? i've tried to get ahold of a national chevrolet representative but i am always referred back to a local chevrolet dealer who says there is nothing they can do to help. I hope ( and pray) that your able to help because the car is using twice as much gas as i am used to with this model, having had 20+ mpg with the suburban i owned in 2000. Thank you.
Transmission released at light on hill and rolled back out of control without ability to move forward.
I have a 2015 suburban which had issues from day when my suv cut off and wouldn't start because of a faulty battery. It had less than 100 miles on it. It had numerous recalls, i'm on my 3rd set of tires 275/55/20 cross contact eco which you only get 25000 miles if best. My entertainment system had to be replace before i had 20000 miles. The vibration is annoying and i've changed my tires again and it's still vibranting. After reading other complaints i now realize i' wasn't going crazy with the dizziness.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed as transmission control system failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 187,000.
After returning from a trip and when pulling into a parking lot the transfer case shifted from 2 wheel drive into 4 wheel low on its own. No error lights came on. The indicator light did not reflect the change into low gear. The typical clunk of the transfer case shifting and difficulty turning on dry pavement were very evident.the transfer case was set to 2 wheel drive, not auto.after the car sat in the lot for app. 20 minutes, we backed up and pulled forward and the transfer case switched back into 2 wheel drive, again on its own.this happened one time so far.
The transmission keeps slipping between 1st and 2nd gear and having difficulty shifting out of reverse with only 80,000 miles. I have taken it to maus chevrolet (tampa, fl) several times and the problem is not being fixed. No reason for the transmission to fail at 80,000 miles but there is no recall.

The vehicle was taken to j p motors chevrolet (3675 frontage rd, peru, il 61354) where it was diagnosed that the seat belts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and paid a portion of the cost. The failure mileage and vin were unknown.
The right rear seat belt will not retract. Chevrolet needs $600 to fix it. People who cannot afford this repair are at risk of dying.
I use my seat warmer most of he time however when driving about 6 hours i suffered burns/blisters to both sides of my butt.the seat didn't catch fire or melt , neither did my shorts.i did not seek medical attention i am caring for the burns at homei would like this investigated.... No accident; however, i am 6'4" and when i am in the drivers seat i have to drive with seat all the way back.with the mirror fully out to view cars on the left i have to move my head over to the right to get a safe view of the lane and passing cars.also i have the same problem viewing behind me because the mirror will not go high enough to see over a hundred feet or so.i have to bend my head down to see in the distant.chevrolet was notified 2 times and i talked to them but they are unwilling to do anything about it.only to say that is the way the vehicle is designed.an equivalent 1/2 pickup, same year, does not have that problem.all 2014 suburbans that the dealer and i tested after i purchased the vehicle were the same as mine.i feel the is a safety issue because of restricted visibility.it is difficult in traffic because it adds another issue i have to deal with that is abnormal.
I have had my caliper bolt come loose and was completely missing two times, on two different wheels, and different times. The first time, it cause the caliper to partially disengage and wedge into the rim, cracking it. The second time, it was detected by the horrendous noise and clacking made by the loose caliper while driving.
Loss of pedal power when braking. Has happened multiple times while driving and when stopped. On highway and city streets. Issue is ongoing has happened the last two years. Have fixed multiple items on brake systems and it continues to happen.
Emergency brake pedal is the problem. It is mounted tooooo high, close to the bottom of dash-board and toooo far to the left. It makes it very, very difficult to get the proper leverage to apply,especially if wearing boots or work shoes.when i engaged it that time my ankle "popped". At first, the loud noise caused me to think it cracked. It turned out that the peroneal tendon had slipped out of it's ankle groove & the supporting ligament was now stretched & unable to properly support the tendons & ankle.i've been getting treatment since then & it still is not completely healed. It has limited my ability towork, exercise, etc. All because of the stupid placement of an eb pedal.i no longer use the emergency brake.ps: your site will not allow me to enter that i was injured & required medical treatment<<<<<<<<

Dashboard is cracking and non-repairable. My research finds that this issue has happened to a vast number of 2007-2014 gm vehicles, that dealerships and gm are refusing to fix the dashboards, and that the dashboards continue to break down, creating more potential for hazard.
The dashboard has cracked, starting towards the windshield and travelling towards the steering wheel.there was no impact, it has cracked on it's own over time.the manufacturer would not fix it under warranty.
After owning the vehicle over 5 years, the dashboard started to crack.after researching a fix, i discovered a lot of owners of my type of vehicle are experiencing the same problem in the same locations.

The recirculating air switch will not stay "on" the way the rear a/c does, the way the cruise control does, the way almost every other switch in the [xxx] truck does. It goes off everytime you shut down and also other times. It is located on the passenger side with a itsy-bitsyidiot light that is difficult to see esp. On sunny days sooooo out of sight=out of mind= always beingforgotten to turn back on=always breathing cancer causing diesel fumes.this climate control is the world's worst. This is my 8th suburban & first time for this.i have asked the dealer & gm to restore. The dashboard cracks on its own as it expands over time with heat and wear. The cracks occur around the driver side dash and the passenger side airbag compartment, making it questionable as to how the car will hold up during a collision and whether or not the passenger side airbag will deploy properly.

Dashboard cracked at front passenger air bag and steering wheel like many other owners have experienced.
Cracked dashboard at information cluster and passenger side airbag. Dashboard crack is bad enough that if the airbag were to engage shards would be launched into cabin thus creating a safety hazard. The condition exists whether moving or stationary.

Wipers no longer work. They do not turn on due to faulty motor and or linkage. Common problem with gm vehicles
