I purchased new and am the only owner of a 2007 chevrolet suburban.this model is equipped with a takata airbag that the manufacturer (takata) has deemed unsafe, especially where i live, in hot and humid louisiana.i have been to the local dealership multiple times to ask if a remedy is available and the dealership has said each time that a fix is not available.why do some manufacturers recognize and fix the issue while others ignore the issue. If i am not mistaken, other manufacturers ask owners not to drive.i am concerned about safety. Any assistance is appreciated.
Was advised of recall on defective air bag inflator and when i called they said that since no one had been killed in a chevrolet suburban, that my car was safe to drive.when i noted that the other vehicles in which folks were injured or died were deamed safe to drive until they killed someone, the simply repeated the statement that my vehicle was safe to drive.

I called my local glensmith chevy dealer to get my air bag repaired after receiving notice in the mail that they had them. They told me they didn't have them and didn't know when they would be available. I called the chevy consumer number and got the same answer. This is the same run around ive been getting for several years while i'm driving a car that could potentially hurt or kill the passenger in the car.... Why did this get sent out if thisdealers wont repair them?
I believe my passenger side air bag may have done something because the dash next to the air bag area has been cracked.dealer says there is no fix; but every other car company has found the fix; replace the inflator.this dash crack happened over night while parked in my garage.

Took a left turn while driving, heard a small noise and with in one minute of going down the road after my turn, my engine was a rough idle, engine light blinking and traction control was blinking. Had it towed to the closest chevy dealership to find out that the lifters were bad and causing misfire. That's a common problem for this engine and the replacement cost should not be on the consumer, there should be a recall for this costly repair!

Takata recall- my understanding is there is an active recalloem#16v383000 (5-31-16) & oem#16v381000 (5-31-16)the dealer has told me there is nothing they can do, however the recall is now two years old. My service airbag light has been on now for about 4 months, and i would like this problem resolved. I would like some answers from someone. The gm dealer here in winston-salem is not helping at all. The lexus dealer has already replaced the airbag on my daughters car, but no one with gm is making an attempt.

Check air bag light came on. Had it checked out at a gm dealer, but they could not tell me if it would be $400 or $4,000. I have a real problem paying this much for an item that i feel should be covered under recall.as a safety professional, i think it is unconscionable to drive without an air bag, but the cost is also unconscionable when the vehicle has only $65,000 miles. I may weigh my options and park it in the hopes of hearing about a recall.
Takata recall....i feel i've been patient enough this recall was sent to me in july 2016.is my vehicle gonna get fixed, am i driving an unsafe vehicle with my kids or wife in the front seat?gm say's it's safe and they will take full responsibility however, everything else i'm reading says i should get it fixed and gm once again states no fix is available!i find that hard to believe you can't fix an airbag and even harder to believe they are willing to "say" they are responsible for my wife and kids lives?what is going on and how long is this going to take to fix a problem?gm is also telling me they are waiting for you to make a decision as to weather or not the recall truly effects their vehicles, because they feel its not a problem ( or they just don't want to fix them in my opinion)

My 07 chevy suburban has multiple cracks on the dashboard.the cracks are near the air bag and close to the driver's side of the vehicle.the dashboard rattles and i am concerned that an air bag deployment will consist of shrapnel from the dashboard as well.also, further cracking of the dashboard could possibly cause the dashboard to cave in all together while driving.these cracks have been reported by numerous gm customers, so this is obviously a safety concern that is in need of an investigation and recall action from gm.thanks

Takata recall - was made aware that airbag is recalled but parts have not been made available for many months
Takata recall nhtsa #16v383 is over 2 years old and still without a solution.
My dash began with a small crack on the left side of the top of the airbag. We then had a very long crack on the driver's side over the hump. I took the car to the chevrolet dealership i bought it from and they said it was not under my warranty and that i would have to pay out of pocket.about 6 months ago another long crack on right side of airbag developed. Airbag is partially exposed and i feel it is a safety concern. After doing some research, it seems this is an extremely common problem in these automobiles. There's even a facebook group complaining of this common problem!
The dash has cracked in multiple places, notably around the passenger air bag. The larger dash panel was replaced by the dealer but has cracked again, twice. The smaller, forward dash panel is also now cracked. The dealer has refused assistance. All cracks occurred while stationary. This vehicle is garaged.
Takata recall for my 2007 suburban has not been resolved.i am concerned if being in a accident, the safety of my passenger is at severe risk.

Takata recallwhat are my options for getting airbags replaced?
I was driving on highway 52 around winston salem, nc on thrusday march 18th, 2010 when all (4) airbags deployed.i was traveling about 60 mph in the left lane of multi-lane traffic; but was able to keep control of the car, change lanes and get to an exit and stop the vehicle.there was no collision or warning that the airbags were going to deploy. The vehicle was turned over to the dealer on 3/20/2010 to investigate and follow up with gm. On 3/22/10 the dealer called and said they had looked at the car but were instructed by gm not to do anything further and that i need to call gm to get a case # for an investigation. I called and after several transfers and call backs i was assigned case # 71-814346366 and told that i would get a call back within two business days on what actions were being taken.on 3/25/10 i received a call and was informed that an inspector would be sent to the dealership to check out the car.to date have i received no further communications from gm and as of 4/8/10 the dealership has not received any notice on when or if an inspector is scheduled to check out the car.this was a serious incident and should have been investigated immediately.there a thousands of similar vehicles on the road that could have the same defect and it seems the manufacturer doesn't want to find out what the problem is. Your help in investigating this issue will be very important to the safety of driving public. Thank you.updated 04/16/10.

Takata recall: my vehicle vin is listed as one that has been identified as having faulty takata airbags. Gm was given until sept 2017 to complete its investigation and come up with a plan to resolve the problem. So far i have heard nothing from gm about this and when i called the local dealership in november of 2017 i was told to just "wait and we'll let you know". The deadline for their investigation ended three months ago. I have a faulty airbag and am driving myself and my 5 kids around town daily. I need this to be fixed, but gm refuses to do anything and apparently the federal government lets deadlines slide by without any repercussions against companies that are defiantly flaunting the rules. What can be done about this so that we can be assured our vehicles are safe? the 20th death as a result of a faulty takata airbag was just confirmed today.

I have also had problems with the emission sensor caused by gas tank cap. This appears to be a problem for all suburbans. I also experienced a loss in power with this vehicle while on the highway. The stabilitrqck light came on and i was able to safely exit the highway. Could have been a severe accident if inwas not near an exit.

For the last year i have been attempting to get gm/chevrolet to pay for my faulty speedometer and since there was no official recall other then the extended warranty and my vehicle was not list although it did receive the same manufactured part as the previous year models, i too should have been covered.special coverage adjustment-#07187a i would like to have my vehicle fixed since a:gm spokeswoman [xxx] - said friday that the agreement "clears the slate" between delphi and gm "and resolves a certain group of outstanding warranty issues." she said the agreement covers as many as 50 warranty issues; the settlement refers to at least 43 warranties. The major issue resolved involves 1.1 million electronic parts that are part of instrument clusters, according to a heavily edited version of the agreement that has been made public. The instrument cluster is the electronic brain behind the instrument panel on the dash. With the agreement and an improving relationship with delphi, gm hopes to save $2 billion annually in parts costs. As delphi exits several businesses, gm will represent a diminishing share of its revenue -- down to a quarter or less than $5 billion by 2010. Delphi attorney jack butler said the agreement saves delphi "hundreds of millions of dollars in potential liability." defective parts replaced under the deal, gm will receive $47.5 million to replace defective electronic parts and delphi will provide 1.1 million new parts at no charge through 2014. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The vehicle intermittently exhibits a dead battery.this happens regardless of whether the vehicle has been driven for hundreds of miles or none at all.at seemingly random times, we go to start the vehicle and the battery is dead.we have had the battery, alternator and cables tested.all tested good.we also notice that around the same time this problem started occurring, that engine noise could be heard through the vehicle speakersregardless of whether the stereo is on.this also occurs at intermittent intervals.we have taken to the dealership and they cannot reproduce the problem in shop in order to troubleshoot.parasitic draw test is negative due to the fact that the problem is intermittent and not constant.

My battery is draining. I put $300 worth of parts in it and come to find out it is an electrical issue that other people with suburbans are having as well. It caused my brake light to stop working even with new bulbs, there is a burning smell coming from my air vents, my battery is draining while i'm driving the car, my dash lights went out for no reason and sometimes the radio doesn't want to work or the locks. I will hit u lock but sometimes i have to hit the button more then once. It does it when i'm driving. I can charge the battery and it will be good for about a day then i have to charge it again. I have had the battery tested and it is good and i have a brand new alternator and have spent a lot of money for my mechanic to do some looking around the car. That is when we found out it is an electrical issue. We just haven't pin pointed to exactly what because i dont have the money to keep looking. I called chevy and they said there's nothing they can do even tho some chevys do have a recall for wiring but mine does not.
Our 2007 suburban lurched forward, and doors locked when my wife started it today. She said it also 'felt like it wouldn't go' she also stated that 'the steering locked up' and that she was scared to take it on the road from the store she was at. In the last few months we noticed 1) using excessive oil between changes 2) radio, and dash lights quitting 3) ac working intermittently. In the last 3 weeks we've had 1) the stabilitrac/tcs/check engine light come on2) hard shifting between 1st and 2nd gear 3) abnormal idling 4) car lurching when started and doors locking on their own when this happened 4) vehicle steering locking up 5) and sluggish acceleration. 8/29/11--vehicle is at dealer for the 2nd time for the check engine/tcs/stabilitrac light....many more have had this problem on edmunds, however dealer wasn't interested in the details unless there was a fix, however i had not completed reading all of the complaints yet...

As a result of the failure, the vehicle was almost t-boned by a tractor trailer. The vehicle was able to be maneuvered to the side of the road where it was restarted successfully. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle body and the brake switch would need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was brought back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the wiring to the ecm connector 2 and wiring harness needed to be changed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred shortly after the repair from the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 67,200.

2007 chevy suburban with 5.3 afm engine. Driving down freeway andtraction control, stabilink and engine light come on. Misfiring real bad. After getting it to shop they stated no compression in 2 cylinders. When told service manager he stated what problem was right away. Then confirmed it. Knew right away because it is common problem. Stated problem dropped lifters which damaged camshaft stemming from afm system. Would have to pay to tear down engine to be exact but will need a motor either way. This has been a common problem with the oil consumption problem with this motor. I had been experiencing oil consumption for a long time. I would burn a quart of oil driving 1000 miles on long trips. Every week i'm a 1/4-1/2 quart low. Chevy says this is normal and denies there is a problem but this is far from normal. This also stems from afm system. An 07 chevy suburban that has been maintained should last more than 170,000 miles and chevy should stand by their product of a known issue. There have been fixes by chevy but none seem to work. I never formally filed a complaint with chevy or did oil consumption test( but they wouldn't have it if there wasn't a problem. I have just followed issue online waiting for a fix. But , motor died first. Also vehicle has a cracked dash which has been a common problem with this vehicle which chevy has since reinforced the places it cracks indicating there was a flaw in design but chevy refuses to fix.
When test driving the suburban, the service stabilitrac and service traction control lights came on.we looked in the owner's manual and it said to turn the vehicle off for fifteen seconds and restart.if the lights did not reappear there was not a problem so we did not say anything to the dealership.a few days after taking delivery of the vehicle the lights began to come on repeatedly.the dealership replaced a sensor that had to do with the steering.everything appeared to be normal for about a month, but then real problems began to happen.the first adverse occurrence happened when i was driving at a steady speed, going straight, at approximately 25 mph.the left front brake engaged harshly two times in rapid succession, then the service stabilitrac and service traction control lights came on.i did not touch the brake and was not accelerating.i took it to a chevrolet dealership the following week and they had it for three days trying to isolate the problem.they even sent it home with a shop foreman overnight.however, they were not able to find any problem with either of the systems.as i was leaving their lot both lights came on again, but without the harsh braking.two days later (today) my family and i were beginning to enter an entrance ramp to the highway (again at about 25-30 mph) and the left front brake engaged three times in rapid succession hard enough to make the tire squeal each time.a car was directly behind me and skidded to keep from running into the rear end of the suburban.my wife and i and four children were in the vehicle.now i am afraid to even drive it.if this happened at highway speeds the vehicle would probably overturn.i will be calling the chevrolet dealership when they open in the morning.
The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed.
Takata recall: it's been over 9 months since i received a recall notice regarding my suburban. I have made several calls and still no fix for the problem.
Wire harness underneath vehicle rubbing on drive shaft causing electrical issues.battery drain, compressor for air ride burning out, stability control warning light coming on and various other electrical issues.
While driving on the highway i started hearing ticking noise from engine compartment and the stablizing light and check engine light started flashing.i shut off the suburban and went to look under the hood.started it back up and went back to listen again, still the same ticking.chevy will not stand behind there bad afm which is causing this issue.
I find it interesting that there are so many comments about burning oil on the suburban.i bought this car new in 2007 with 0 miles.in 2011 when had my usual oil changed and noticed that within 1 month my indicator came on that the oil was low and to add oil.i went back to the location where i had it changed and complained that they didn't properly fill the oil.the argued that they did and i was wrong.they then put 2 quarts in and i went on my way.a month later, again, the same issue.i took the car to the chevrolet dealer where we purchased it and they said that the reason the car was burning oil was because i should use a different weight of oil during the hot texas summer months.ever since this time my car burns oil no matter what type of oil i put in. No matter what time of year - hot or cold.i keep extra quarts in the back for emergencies. When i start the engine on most days, but not all days, a white puff of smoke comes from the exhaust.the dealer insists that there is nothing wrong.it's obvious based on other consumer comments that this is a manufacturer's defect.at about 100k the tire sensor went and now at 113k another tire sensor is gone as well as the driver side automatic door locks.typically when i take my car to the dealer to be fixed it runs at least $1000.i was planning for this car to last at least another 50k miles.we'll see...

My vehicle was having trouble starting and idling rough.i brought it in for repairs and was told it needed a new fuel pump and air filter.i had those changed in total spending $1700.three days later, the check engine light started flashing in my car.i could feel the engine misfiring and was losing power.the oil pressure was fluctuating rapidly.i drove it back to my home and had it towed to the dealership.i was told that the cylinder 4 was misfiring caused by the cylinder deactivation failure which is caused by the automatic fuel management system.this is causing the lifter to fail.
Upon start-up, plume of smoke from exhaust for 5 - 15 seconds. Also, excessive oil consumption, up to 1.5 quarts per 500 miles.
Chevrolet suburban have a problem with excessive oil burning.and not doing anything about it.
2007 suburban vehicle came to a stop 25ft behind several stopped cars at a red light. Without provocation, the vehicle strongly accelerated/surged forward while the brakes were engaged. Driver continued to attempt to stop the vehicle by repeatedly hitting the brake pedal, but with no success. Passenger in vehicle reported seeing drivers foot on the brake. Vehicle accelerated forward into the back of another vehicle which was then pushed into a third. All three vehicles suffered damage. Airbags failed to deploy in suburban despite level of impact. Vehicle was taken to chevrolet dealer for complete diagnostic. Results inconclusive; no data errors recorded in computers and no apparent mechanical attribute could be found relating to vehicle action. Action could not be repeated by technician. Vehicle released to owner. No explanation could be given as to this action. Dealer did not follow up or continue investigation.

Engine is malfunctioning and using excessive amounts of oil (1 quart every 1-2 weeks).the manufacturer built bad motors in 2007 and knowingly covered it up.the vehicles were still sold to consumers and rather than fixing the issue (engine would have to be rebuilt or replaced) the manufacturer is placing all responsibility and cost ($9,000 fix) on the consumer, even when reported before 100,000 miles.the manufacturer knowingly sold lemon vehicles and refuses to fix.a mechanic told me that my engine could explode (severe safety issue).
The oil was 1 1/2 quarts low after only 900 miles. They filled it up and again in oct, it was 1 quart low after only 700 miles. I had a terrible family tragedy in dec and was unable to get my consumption documented however, i did have an oil change. I am not sure what happened and why it was not documented but, i was told that the oil tag was "missing" and that they were starting a new tag. In feb i went again for an oil change. On april 15th my oiling came on stating my oil was low and needed an oil change. On april 16th i noticed my truck start to hesitate and chug after taking off from a stop light or stop sign. I though perhaps it was bad gas. I used the rest of the tank and filled up on april 18th. On april 19th i noticed it was still hesitating and getting worse, now it was not only after coming to a complete stop, it was random and more frequent. The morning of april 20th i called al serra and told them i was scared and felt like it was a danger to drive my 5 children around in fear that we would lose power on the highway or getting on the highway or in the middle of an intersection. The service rep stated they could not get my truck in until tuesday. I was not happy with that answer and visited a local mechanic. Upon my arrival i told my mechanic that my car was hesitating and losing power. The mechanic test drive the vehicle and came back to tell me the oil was bone dry. He stated that if i had driven much further, the engine would have seized. He wanted me to how the vehicle to al serra e no help and stranded with my 5 children. Now, this has been an ongoing problem since january of 2012. Of course, my factory warranty has now run out and it is 3 months past the warranty of the repairs that were made. However, the ongoing problem was documented prior, much prior, to the repair warranty running out. Oil consumption gm ignoring problem.

Active fuel management (afm) lifters jam/seize causing push rods to remain collapsed and causing engine misfires throughout the engine and excessive oil burning, possible damage to catalytic converters, and premature engine wear.lifters must be replaced or engine replaced.i was driving the car and when the engine began misfiring, check engine light began blinking, traction control became disabled, and error on dash saying service stabilitrak and traction control disabled appeared.the car began to shift erratically shaking and lunging.
While this was/is a used vehicle, and while the mileage is high, the sheer frequency of the exact same complaint dictates that this is a problem that frequently occurs.further exacerbating the problem is that gm and its dealers have no incentive to fix the issue as a full engine replacement is what is being offered as a solution.i was quoted by my dealer that the costs for this is (~)$8,000.00!as is the case with the others that have complained about this: i was driving along and the oil pressure went to zero.after taking it to the dealership, they replaced a few components and sent me on my way (after getting a large bill of course).we use the car very infrequently and as such, within a 100 miles of use, i was back at the dealer with, again, very low oil pressure.there recommendation was to replace the engine at $8000 or perform an overhaul at 2000+ with no guarantee or warranty.this is ridiculous.from a cost standpoint: the suburban is a $60,000+ vehicle, and the problem is not fixable/resolvable, other than by gm asking for an additional $8000.from a safety issue, these cars are heavy, big, and can cause much damage if the driver is distracted by such a large engine problem and/or the engine shutting down due to the engine block freezing up and/or seizing due to the lack of oil pressure.now, and especially in light of gms refusal to acknowledge the safety recall associated with its ignitions, i think there is sufficient cause for the nhtsa to take a hard look into this, open a full investigation, and hopefully rectify this for the hundred (and possibly thousands) of consumers affected and force gm to address these issues, both with respect to its existing/past sales, as well as address its future designs.

Our vehicle started to use between one quart and 2 quarts between oil changes.at sometime before this the heater stopped working on the windshield washer fluid.the dvd player stopped working around 75,000 miles.at 79,0911 miles the service air bags light came on.we are not new to owning suburbans.this is our fifth one.we have always been happy with them, but this one has way to many things that arenot workingproperly.we would like to hear from you regarding resolving these issues.
My vehicle uses 1 qt of oil every 2000 miles right now, it was every 4,000.so the problem seems to be getting worse.when i shared this with the service department at both chevrolet andchevrolet, their response was that my issue was still with in specifications.i didn't realize that oil consumption was acceptable.gm, instead of fixing the problem appear to be ignoring it.i have an 06 chevy silverado that has never used a qt of oil.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

I bought this suburban used in 2010 with about 32,000 miles on the odometer.i am the 2nd owner.from the day i bought it, it has burned oil.the add oil light comes on half way through a oil change.it's my 3rd suburban.neither of those two had ever burned oil.it was still under factory warranty, so i took it to courtesy chevrolet in phoenix.they put it on a oil watch.i had to bring the truck back in every thousand miles so they could check the burn rate.they always said it was normal per chevy burn rates.really?check the internet for 2007 chevrolet engine oil, high burn rates and you will see that mine is not the only engine that burns oil.it sounds like chevrolet knew there was a problem, and instead of fixing the problem with integrity, they changed their burn rates so they wouldn't have to.i have lost all faith in chevrolet.i will never buy another chevrolet product.

I purchased my suburban with existing gm warranty. The vehicle had roughly 47,000 miles on it and 7 months remaining of the original factory warranty.after about 900 miles the low oil light came on, which i thought was odd because i checked the oil life gauge after purchase and it said it was at 99% oil life. This worried me. It was one quart low so i added it and decided to see what happens. A month later at about 1000 miles the same thing happened. I added another quart and then went to the dealer closest to my home to report the issue. They started monitoring. Each time at between 900 and 1400 the oil light came on and i was a quart low. They began remediation. First the pvc/valve cover remediation. This did not solve the problem. Then next the oil pan related remediation. This did not solve the issue either.now i keep having to take the suburban to the dealer when the oil light comes on, they add a quart and say there is nothing they can do, from a legal stand point because i have an extended warranty and the car is out of gm warranty (remember i reported this while it was under gm warranty and reminded them of that), that gm won't do anything more from their experience with this issue. However, they have not contacted gm or opened a case file and wont do that.i was told i will need to pursue that on my own.they tried to reach out to my extended warranty but say they are put on hold for 10-15 minutes and have to hang up because they are too busy to wait longer.i've called them repeatedly asking that a case be opened with gm as this was reported under warranty and is a known defect with this engine (i'm out of warranty now) but they just keep giving me the run around.gm needs to do a recall and address these engines.
Oil consumption - after advising terry labonte chevrolet (greensboro, nc) of oil consumption issues from 60k thru 99k and former diagnostics completed by collins chevrolet (mt. Airy, nc) @ 55k 59k & 60k gm is unwilling to make repair under warranty at 121k stating that no notes were recorded of incidents upon prior notification.dealership stated repair require piston rebuild for $5100 gm rep approved repair for $1365.gm cust care unwilling to cover repair and has disregarded prior documentation of complaint at 55k, 59k, & 60k.dealership are aware of problematic 5.3 stating upon description of issue without review of records that vehicle is 07.
I have a 2007 suburban that consumes approx 1 qt of oil every 800 miles. At 1200 miles/qt the dealer told me this was "normal consumption". I went to another dealer that confirmed the 800 miles/qt and is installing new pistons and rings next week. Apparently this is not a fix but should help with consumption until a permanent fix is made by gm.

We have a 2007 chevrolet suburban ltz. We paid extra for an automatic rear lift gate, which you can open with your key remote,. Last week the automatic gate started malfunctioning. On two occasions an error message that read "service 4 wheel drive" appeared on the display. I mentioned this to the service department while there for an oil change, and was told that everything checked out okay, and that i should drive the vehicle in 2wd, not auto. Also, i have been having a transmission slippage issue that started between 50,000 miles and 58,000 miles and was very sporadic. When starting from a dead stop (stop light for example), the transmission wouldn't engage as i pressed the accelerator. After 10 to 15 seconds of pressing my foot on the accelerator, the transmission would finally engage and the vehicle would move slowly with the engine revving. I mention this to the dealer when the vehicle has approximately 58,000 miles and i'm told that they will need to keep the vehicle for a few hours and there is a cost of $120 plus tax to perform diagnostic testing. As my schedule did not allow for this that day, i left.the problem was very sporadic at this point. At 63,000 miles i am driving over a mountain pass and the display reads something along the lines of "transmission overheating". I pull off the road and wait for it to cool, then make my way home. I entire trip home the transmission is slipping between all gears and shifting hard in the higher gears. I take it into the dealer for diagnostics the next business day and i'm told that i need a new transmission. I am advised by the dealer that there is "no external cause for this failure" and " the inner mechanism of the transmission has fallen apart and cannot be repaired". My powertrain warranty ended 6 months ago, so i face a $3,350 bill for this repair. After i complain to gm customer assistance, they agree to pay 30% of the repair and 5 days of the rental car, but i feel they should pay the entire amount.
Transmission stopped working while driving had been slight vibration several month prior which was reported to dealer-he said wheel balance-did not help only 1st and 2nd gear worked.local dealer quoted $2,800 to replace. Dealer had the car for over a month.gm offered to pay 45%. I would pay $1540. When picked up car i had to pay $2300! told the warranty from gm caused the price to go up. The car still has a vibration. A car with 80,000 miles should not need a new transmission.
The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The check engine, electronic stability control, check suspension, and traction control warning lights illuminated. The failure recurred whenever the vehicle was in operation. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 169,887.
My suburban wont shift or move in drive or in 3rd. It will go in to 2nd and 1st and reverse. It just revs up when in drive. I was reading online and found several other people to have the same problem with this vehicle. This should be a recall on the transmission or defective parts causing this in the transmission.
I was driving thevehicle in motionwhen out of no wherethe engine started making a loud thumping crackling sound
The forward sprag unit broke which ended up not only causing the vehicle to come out of drive while we were driving but also caused significant enough damage to the transmission to requite an entire rebuild. Faulty transmissions are a very common issue with this vehicle, and the tahoe, yukon and because the company refuses to back their products and recall the issue, it ends up becoming a huge financial burden on a family. Thankfully there was no one following directly behind us when this happened or it could have been much worse. Chevrolet needs to take note and stand behind their products. Consumers have a right to expect a quality vehicle that should last well beyond 100k miles without requiring this kind of major repair.note that gm is so aware of this safety problem, they actually updated their input sprag on later cars to make them stronger.thats right, they have updated the component but refuse to recall the ones already in vehicles that were weak.the transmission shop that rebuilt my transmission had the exact same issue on the vehicle that followed mine.this seems to be a pattern with gm that the nhtsa should look into.
Third incident for this problem. While driving in (d) the transmission will disengage and the vehicle engine will rev up (3rd & 2nd gear) seem to work still. This has happened at various speeds from 25 to 55 mile per hour. Only one time has it been close to an accident while making a left hand turn with on coming traffic. The dealer has made inspections of the transmission once, the second time the dealership was unable to duplicate the problem after keeping the vehicle more than 5 days. The suggestion from the dealership manager was to wait for it to happen again, place the vehicle in either 3rd or 2nd gear drive it to the dealership leaving it in 3rd or 2nd gear applying the parking brake so that the manager and a mechanic can get into the vehicle and test what's wrong. The 3rd time this has happened it was around 8:30 p.m. And we were unable to take it in to be examined. This problem if it happens again while making a turn or at anytime with oncoming traffic could cause a serious accident.
The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban.shortly after the vehicle received a transmission flush, it would not move forward in the drive position after being placed into reverse.the following day, the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and they replaced three plates, a valve, filter kit, and a gasket kit.the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred less than a year later after another transmission flush was performed.while driving 65 mph, the vehicle began to hesitate and the engine revved, but the vehicle was losing speed.she drove to a repair shop and the mechanic stated that the transmission was not shifting past first gear.the contact took the vehicle back to the dealer that performed the original repair, but they stated that it was no longer under warranty and was not their responsibility.through online research, the contact found numerous complaints about this same defect.she believes that a recall should be issued.the failure mileage was 65,414 and current mileage was 123,000.
Rear seatbelts are falling apart...the base where the buckle clasps into.doesn't happen in the drive or passenger seats, just the back two rows.
The driver seat belt won"t lock or go in.
We have a 2007 chevrolet suburban the second row middle seatbelt just unraveled, 2 weeks later the 3rd row middle seatbeltunraveled. We took the car to the dealershipexplaining 3 yrs ago we had a gmc yukon and we were in a severe crash. The yukon was only 3 yrs old at the time and the front middle seatbelt failed and the second row middle seatbelt failed seriously injuring our family. They refuse to address the question are these the same seatbelts i don't believe this is a coincidence. Can someone look into it.
The rear (third row) seat belts randomly lock under non-emergent conditions. The tension on the belt becomes extreme such that the cannot release the belt and requires assistance, resulting in a potentially dangerous situation where the occupant may not be able to egress in an emergency. The situation is made worse by passengers in the third row seat who are adults and/or may be overweight. The manufacturer has modified the third row seat belts in apparent recognition of the problem, but has not chosen to correct the problem in earlier vehicle designs.
Driver's side seat belt clip will not feed into receiver. The latch is stuck in the locked position, there is a piece of plastic that guides the metal clip into the receiver that is missing.
Both front seat female seatbelt connectors in my 2007 chevrolet suburban are not working properly.the drivers side takes several attempts to latch and the passenger side does not latch at all.this is being repaired (part covered by chevy, labor at my expense) to prevent an injury or death in the event of a crash.
I purchased my 2007 chevrolet suburban brand new in 2007. I think the mileage is somewhere around 150,000 but not sure because the odometer cluster went out on the vehicle several years ago. Also, my door handles are starting to peel apart which are cutting my hands and my children's hands. One incident it sliced my hand open very similar sever paper cut but worse. The handles were already replaced once on my suburban back in 2009 by gm and at gm's cost.the main issue about this email is the seatbelts and the dashboard.there are four passenger seatbelts that do not work hardly at all. Sometimes they will snap in/buckle and there are a lot of times that they do not.the crack in my dashboard is right next to the airbag. It really concerns me as far as being a safety issue. I do have five small children that are constantly with me in my car. I just want this dashed fixed at no charge being that it is a defect. I have signed a petition with thousands of other gm owners with the same exact issue....cracked dashboard and most of them in the same exact place. . i'm just asking for this to be replaced and corrected.
-the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban. The contact stated that the rear driver and passenger seat belt retractor mechanisms prevents the webbing to be extracted when worn by an occupant. This condition results in tight fitting and the inability to move. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection in which the technician concluded that the failure was a normal characteristic of the vehicle.the failure mileage was 0. The current mileage was 27,000. The vehicle identification number was unavailable.
I have this vehicle for only a year i went to get my brakes done to be told by the mechanic that it needs work on the suspension from rust almost my whole entire suspension system and a auto shop told my finance companythat there are no problems but clearly there is
The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban. While attempting to start the vehicle, it began to shake and the check engine light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle began to slow down and the reduced engine power indicator illuminated on the instrument panel.
I started my car and the brakes were gone and the steering wheel was locked up. I turned it off and started it again, then the brakes would lock up and there was no power steering. I waited a while and tried a third time, it made a power steering machine noise and was back to normal. I was afraid to drive it because i didn't want to cause an accident if it happened again. I had it towed to the dealer. The dealer could not reproduce the problem, therefore could not use my extended warranty to fix it. I paid out of pocket for a new power steering pump, because i will not drive it if there is even a chance of that happening again. It's too much of a liability.

The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban.while driving from michigan to florida at 65 mph, the contact noticed that the brakes exhibited a really loud grinding noise when the brake pedal was depressed.he took the vehicle to a dealer in kentucky but, due to an ice storm, there was no electricity.approximately 12 miles from his destination, the contact discovered that he had no braking power.he placed the vehicle into low gear and applied the emergency brake when necessary in order to reach his destination.he then drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic, who stated that all of the components appeared disintegrated on the front driver's side brake system.this was deemed as the likely cause of the brake failure.the rear and front passenger side brakes were functional in comparison to the front driver's side brakes.the mechanic repaired the driver's side brake cylinder, discs, and pads at the contact's expense.there had been no failures since the repairs were performed.the manufacturer stated that they could not assist because the dealer did not perform the repairs.the current mileage was approximately 42,000 and failure mileage was approximately 39,000. Updated 4/23/09 the consumer stated the left front brake was not releasing and therfore destroyed the entire brake system.updated 04/27/09.

The entire dash board is full of cracks. Some are all around the airbag.
Dash on vehicle has cracked at the airbag on the dash on the passenger side.
The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracking on the inside of the steering column and where the passenger side airbag was located. The contact expressed concerns about the airbag possibly deploying inadvertently or the entire dashboard detaching from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, where they were unable to diagnose why the dashboard was cracking. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered to pay for half of the repair costs. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 71,000.
Noticed a small crack on the passenger side dashboard near airbag.crack spread and now have a triangular shaped hole in that spot.another crack, much larger, has now appeared on the driver's side of the dashboard.
I have a 2007 chevy suburban; i have a crack in my hard plastic dashboard that begins where the dash starts at the window and extends forward towards the driver seat half way up the curve where the speedometer is. Apparently i am not the only one reporting this. There is really no good fix outside of getting a new dashboard for a lot of money. I am not very happy about something that cracks, such as my dashboard that cannot be fixed and must be replaced. Also, the chrome is peeling of both front interior door handles causing small minor cuts.i found a document online regarding the door handles having a peeling condition on the top surface causing the chrome to peel (http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs/jaxrs/download/doc/acm16537095/csc-10033533-5986.pdf)
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban. The contact stated that the dashboard on the passenger side began to crack. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v383000 (air bags). The part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban. The contact stated that the instrument panel cover fractured due to defective material. The instrument panel cover was replaced twice; however, the failure was not corrected. Also, the interior door handles fractured and separated from the door frames. The door handles were replaced. The manufacturer was notified. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 75,000.
Crack in dash around the passenger airbag door.
The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban. The contact stated that the dashboard began to crack in multiple areas. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic. A dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000....updated 10/19/17
The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban. The contact stated that the dashboard has been cracked for three years and now there are holes on the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer in la quinta, ca for a repair estimate. The vehicle was diagnosed and repaired. The manufacturer was contacted at 800-222-1020 and stated that the vin was not part of a recall. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000. Updated 12/13/2017 *lnconsumer stated the vehicle's dashboard cracked sept.2017, the dashboard caved in, leading to a huge hole. Updated 7/17/18
The dashboard is badly cracked. It will cost about $1,000 to repair which reduces the net proceeds if we sell it. We don't feel comfortable selling it without the repair and doubt anyone would want to buy it in this condition. I also feel somewhat unsafe driving it considering the airbag issues. It's gradually gotten worse, so no specific date that i can recall.
Interior front door handles plastic chrome peeling and cutting hands.
The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban. The contact stated that the dashboard developed a crack where the front passenger side air bag was located. The contact expressed concern that the crack may leads to an air bag malfuntion. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the contact was informed that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered to pay for the parts necessary to perform repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 64,000 and current mileage was 65,164. The vin was not available.
The dash board is cracked in multiple areas that could impact the proper airbag deployment.
The chrome on the door handles, all 4 of them, are peeling, where the chrome will actually slice your skin on your fingers and make you bleed.
Dash has been cracking for 2-3 years.dealer refuses to document or remedy.says vehicle is outside of warranty.this is a safety concern if the air bags go off or if a child was to reach up and touch the crack.it is razor sharp.3 cracks total.vehicle is garage kept and not sitting in the sun.
The exterior door handles pull out of the car body on my 2007 chevy ltz suburban..the design appears to use plastic plugs that either break apart or deteriorate, causing the door handles to break loose when grabbed and pulled to open the doors.my handles have all broken loose at the forward end of the handle, with the rear end remaining attached.this has happened multiple times, the first of which may have been in 2010. I believe i initially had the drivers door and the right rear door handles replaced under warranty (before 3 year/36,000 miles).i believe that a second incident happened to the front right (passenger) door, possibly in 2011, and the dealer also replaced it without charge as part of a gm acknowledged defective item recall.recently, in april 2013, i again noticed the front right passenger door handle had broken again.i just had the car in for servicing at the chevy dealer, however i was told that the manager stated that i would have to pay (prox $200) to have the door handle replaced.i paid for the repair and will have to file a claim with gm for reimbursement.i have seen many reports on the internet about this defective door handle problem on 2007 chevy suburbans, as well as on similar gm vehicles.the door handle is a very poor design that gm should have corrected, and have replacement handles provided at no charge to car owners.this is my third suburban going back to 1992, all of which have never had any serious defects.i take care of my suburban, and it looks almost new having only 33,800 miles.i am single, and only occasionally have other passengers in the car, who may use the other door handles.this means that all the door handles have not been used that often. There is obviously a design flaw in the attachment of these door handles to the car body.this should have been corrected by gm., and replacements offered owners.
"takata recall" the dashboard has cracked in several places and over the course of a few months, has completely broken over the instrument cluster. This is a safety hazard as i am afraid other pieces will fly out in the event of an accident.my family and i have been faithful customers of gm since the 50's but i am strongly considering another brand since gm does not honor or offer to fix repeated problems by its owners.
I am filing this compliant about the cracked dash on my 2007 chevy regency suburban, which i purchased brand new in 2008. This dash has been cracked for over 7 years now. I have tried several times to get the dealership (reliable chevrolet) in dallas, tx to fix the issue but was told it would cost me somewhere around $1,500 to do so. There are 2 cracks near the passenger side airbag edges then a massive hole over the console because the entire top of the console has cracked to into pieces. Likewise, the front panel of the console, inside the vent area has cracked and fallen about. I am scared for myself, wife, kids and any other innocent passenger(s) along for the ride because if the airbags do deploy, there is a huge possibility plastic shards will fly into their faces causing severe facial damage and or possible death.
The dashboard is cracking in various areas. Specific area is the cracking next to the passenger side air bag area. I am seriously worried if an accident were to happen and the airbag was to deploy that shards of plastic could be sent flying thru the interior of the vehicle
The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban. The contact noticed a third crack on the dashboard by the passenger side air bag. The crack made the air come out of the vent higher than the rest of the dashboard. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 137,904.
The dash is cracked in here places and if the passenger airbag deploys it may rupture due to the sharp edges of the crack
The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban. The contact stated that the rear automatic lift gate was opened and fell down, abruptly striking the contact in the head. We were driving home when a person ran a red light and hit us.we were crossing an intersection about 15 miles an hour and they hit the front part of our suburban.everything was damaged the hood , and everything inside the hood sustained damage.there was a liquid that was leaking but i am unaware of the substance.the person that hit us must have been going about 40-60 miles an hour.after they fled the seen police mentioned that their air bags were deployed.my concern was why our air bags did not deploy as well.my daughter and i both hit our heads on our side windows.my son had slight injury mostly from the seatbelt.my sons door had to be opened from the police officer on the screen.my biggest concern was about the airbags and also the onstar did not work as well.
The first issue was the dashboard craking in numerous spots and chevy did finaly replace the entire dash.the next issue was the paint on the "white exterior" begain chipping off in large 4-7 inch parts all over the suv. The dealer forced me to pay half or the partial repaint .1000. :( takata recall is the latest. I wonder how america can be great again with this level of quality. So sad.
Inside right and left door handle chrome plating coming off causing sharp edge, resulting in cuts.
There is a recall for the chrome door handles on the 2007 chevrolet tahoe, but i am having the same problem with the chrome in my 2007 chevrolet suburban.the dealer says the suburban is not part of the recall even though it is the exact same problem in almost the same car.this recall needs to be expanded.i have had two people cut their hands on my door handle, and i'm going to just sand it down myself or wrap it with duct tape.
I attempted to open my driver side door. The chrome is beginning to peel off and it sliced into my middle finger. My wife cut her finger on the chrome handle yesterday.
2007 chevrolet suburban interior door handles are peeling the top layer of metal off.this metal exposes extremely sharp surfaces.two members of my family have cut their fingers on the door handles.
Door handles are separating from the body.pose a departure failure at highway speeds.3 of 4 door handles are coming off.
Coating on interior door handles peel and causes cuts on hands.
2007 chevy suburban - inside door handles - chrome peeling off and cutting hands and fingers!potential to occur every time you open the door!
The chrome surface of the inside driver and front passenger door handles peeled, causing very sharp surfaces, which cut our hands like a razor blade.
In november 1008 the driver's side outside chrome door handle began coming loose from the door.it was replaced under warranty, failed part #25960525.now, in june 2011, the rear driver's side outside chrome door handle is coming loose from the door.will take it to the dealer when we return from a scheduled trip.
Just using the door handle to get into my suburban on the passenger side like any reasonable person, not roughly or bearing weight, and the plastic handle broke and pulled out on one end. Same breakage occurred with rear door as well when one of my children was opening the door. Made the folks at our local chevrolet service shop aware while having my oil changed and they quoted a price ~$245. No offer to help covering any part and this was while my full warranty was still active. The folks that work there are kind and helpful. What i am trying to convey is that i don't think they were being rude, it was just not something they were approved to cover. I couldn't believe that such a luxury vehicle would have plastic handles that broke off so easily and that for the quality and reputation the company doesn't want their product to look like a luxury product. People will be seen driving a vehicle with their name on it and the door handles are hanging off. It worries me to consider what safety issues could arise if someone were not able to get inside the car in an emergent situation.
Cut finger on door of 2007 suburban due to failure of plastic chrome on interior driver door handle.other handles in car are also failing.reported to dealer and they reported numerous complaints and failures as well as other cut hands and fingers which should indicate a design flaw.

"takata recall"gm tells me that i just have to drive my defective vehicle until they come up with a repair.i also have a cracked dashboard which i think has something to do with the airbag.not safe for my family of 5.i spent $60,000 for a potential death trap!!!suspension light on and dealership wont tell me what is wrong.

I purchased my chevy suburban and notice a small crack on my dashboard. After only a few months after purchased i notice the same crack on my dashboard extending toward the airbag and down to the instrument panel . I am concerndue to it may affect the airbags performance. If someone can please look into this matter. I would appreciate it. Best, carina
Top of the dash has severe cracks over instrument cluster and around the passenger side air bag. Cracking is continuously getting worse.
Entire dashboard has severe cracking and loose pieces of the dashboard due to cracking. This situation creates an unsafe condition which could cause bodily harm in the case of an accident specifically in the deployment of the air bag. The small cracked pieces of the dashboard are small enough for a child to swallow creating a choking hazard.
Dash board cracked severely, passenger airbag is probably affected. If airbag went off prices of dash or something might be flown with it.
Dashboard randomly cracked in 5 different places for no reason. This is the most recent time, i have previously replaced the dashboard.
Dash has crack near passenger air bag and behind instrument panel
My suburbans dash has cracked in two spots.one by the passenger airbag and one to the left/upper of the driver side cluster.
The odometer instrument cluster went out on my 2007 suburban and the radio is changing stations on its own.also the metal trim on my door handles and heating/ac controls is peeling apart and cutting my hands.in addition, the engine burns oil and i have checked it out by three different dealers/mechanics and they cannot find any leaks.i have seen a lot of similar complaints and i believe chevy should repair these items at no cost to owners.
The dashboard on my vehicle is cracking.this is a potential safety hazard because if the airbags deploy the dash may break completely and shards of plastic may hurt my family.
Dashboard cracks near airbag pose safety problem.gm will not resolve.
Dashboard cracking in two places
Dash cracked while still under warranty, i had it replaced once and it cracked again. It has just gotten worse over the years. It now has multiple cracks all over the dash and rattles when you drive down the street. Not only does it pose a safety concern but s one of the most annoying things ever.
I purchased 2007 chevy suburbanon 2014 and a year after the dashboard startwith a crack on the side of the passenger.
The dashboard on our 2007 chevrolet suburban has cracked for the 2nd time.the first time the dealership eagerly replaced that dashboard after about 2 yrs.now 165,000 miles later the dashboard is cracked again (cracked about 2 yrs ago) in multiple places and no one wants to take responsiblity for this potentially serious safety concern. I think it is sad that we could end up like the airbag recall where it is too late before something will be done.we have kept this suburban because it runs good and it has provided a safe means of transportaion for our 3 teenage boy drivers up to this point.it has not been involved in any accidents at this time but we don't want to find out what parts go flying if there is an accident.chevrolet needs to own up to this problem and agree to fix it no matter what the mileage-it was aleady replaced once so obviously it's not owner neglect!
The chrome on the inside door handles is splitting causing driver and/or passengers to cut their fingers while opening the doors to exit when the vehicle is stationary.
Airbag recall, no remedy available; dashboard crack.
So sad.
The dashboard around the airbag has cracked in multiple places.this is alarming as the integrity of the dash/ air bag is now at risk.should theses airbags deploy i am afraid the plastic will hit myself or worse my wife and family.
Dash panel cracked over instrument cluster and around passenger side air bag opening.
The dash is cracked , it is cracked by the air bag and if in a accident can cause srapnal to fly all over
Hand got cut from inside door handle peeling off
Huge crack in the dashboard, driver side. The electrical has been bad in this vehicle ever since we've had it since 2009 for the past five years the window controls don't work and the radio doesn't work car just stops on its own and dies rear passenger radio gets extremely hot to wear it causes the skin to be burned.vehicle rattles extremely loudly and keeps getting worse over the years.
The dashboard is cracked on both the passenger and driver side. The crack on the passenger side is concerningbecause if the airbag deploys the dashboard us going with it and who ever is on that side will be hit with the pieces.
I have several cracks throughout my dash and am concerned that i will have additional dangerous sharp plastic fragments in addition to metal fragments from the open air bag recall. This has been a known problem gm has failed to address. In addition, i also have a problem with engine temps heating up to where the ac goes into fail safe that gm says they cannot fix even at my expense. After about 10-15 minutes running in idle to launch my boat i came back to find my children diaphoretic in their car seats and had to use my skills as a paramedic to cool them down due to the extreme temperature in the vehicle. I cannot even sit in drive for a few minutes picking up the children without this happening. I put a temporary fix on with an aftermarket electric fan after replacing the fanclutch and whole cooling system in the vehicle, plus 3 ac compressors now to buy me a few more minutes. Gm does not care about the safety of their customers. I now only use the vehicle in the winter when the children are with me for their safety.
2 noticeable cracks on the dashboard, one on the passenger side near the corner of the airbag and the other in the driver side in front of the steering wheel
Dashboard cracked at corner of passenger airbag and at steering wheel
I have a 2007 suburban that has a cracked dash along the instrument panel and over by the air bag... Chevorlet will not fix it because it is not under recall and vechile is out of warranty and says i will have to come out of pocket to have it fixed. I think is a defect in your dashes as i use a sun shield and it still cracked and i dont have the money to fix something i feel is a defect in the way you make you dashes. I am scared that if the air bag deploys on the passenger side that someone may get hurt because of the way it is cracked. I would to have this resolved and not have to come out of pocket and take away from my 5 children to have this issue fixed when i feel it's a defect on ya'lls part.
Cracked dash above the instrument panel and at the top of the passenger airbag compartment. Front impact collision could cause pieces of dash to puncture airbag or injure passengers.
Dashboard cracked around the passenger side airbag as well as other locations on the dash.the concern is that the airbag inflation will be impeded by the cracking dashboard.vehicle was in motion on a city street when the crack occurred.
Dashbroad cracked pieces is sharpe and dangerous
Plastic dash has several cracks from front to back. One near passenger air bag. If this were to deploy it could add additional damaging debris. Also appearance is bad and devalues vehicle. Happened within the first two years of ownership and continued use of stationary, in motion on city streets or highway driving.
Wire harness underneath vehicle rubbing on drive shaft causing electrical issues.battery drain, compressor for air ride burning out, stability control warning light coming on and various other electrical issues.
The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban. While driving approximately 55 mph, the rear windshield wiper activated independently and all the warning indicators illuminated. There was a burning odor coming from the front and rear area of the vehicle. The contact discovered that the wiring into the fuse box was melted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the main wiring harness had to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000. The vin was not available.
