Takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 chevrolet suburban 1500. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags). The parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer (viva chevrolet, 5915 montana ave, el paso, tx 79925) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was contacted at 800-222-1020 and could not confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

The dash is cracking in multiple locations which if the airbags were to deploy could send shards of plastic flying through the passenger compartment creating a safety hazard. This has been occurring for some time but is continuing to get worse, and we have recently noticed that it has broken all the way across one of the dash panels. I have looked online and this appears to be a issue with many chevrolet vehicles.

The dashboard has cracked in two locations, at the corner of the passenger airbag cover, and in front of the instrument column. This is greatly concerning because it could cause the airbag to malfunction, or cause other debris from the dashboard to come loose in an accident. This is a known issue and yet no recall has been issued. When in motion the dashboard vibrates violently because the two cracks have compromised the structural integrity and support. The vibrating also causes a significant rattle.

Takata recall - the information available from gm on this recall is that at this time, gm considers your vehicle safe.the fact that 11 people so far have been killed by takata airbag's tells me it is not safe for my family to have these in our vehicle.

Takata recall, just like everyone else, gm is not able or willing to replace the takata inflators which brings me to the cracked dashboards.mine is badly cracked including where the airbag would come out, which really worries me if my grandkids are in the passenger seat and there is a collision.i pray that does not happen.

The dashboard has cracked around the passenger side airbag. Certainly i feel this is a safety concern that chevy needs to fix. The vehicle is used only for leisure and is parked in the garage when not in use.

My dashboard at my passenger airbag and at my gauge cluster have severe cracks. I'm afraid my passenger airbag will not deploy and my gauges will fall deep inside the dash. Gm is aware of the problem, but will not recall for fix. This is a serious concern.

The dashboard is cracking in several spots. The main concern is that it is cracking at the corner of the airbag deployment area. If the airbag were to deploy it could be punctured or cut during deployment due to this cracked dashboard.

The dashboard has three severe long cracks that run into where the airbag would deploy and one that runs vertically straight up to the steering wheel.this is clearly a defect. The edges are very sharp. A piece has cracked and fell into the a/c vent. I am very concerned the dash could cut the airbag as it passes by the sharp edges or sharp edges could severely cut driver or passenger as airbag pushed broken dash into passenger or driver.this needs to be addressed.

Dash is cracked by passenger airbag and it will not allow the cover to attach properly. Sharp plastic edge may cut airbag when deployed making it useless. Also, there is a recall on the airbag and gm is stating that no parts are available and they won't be for a while.

Takata recall. Gm is still claiming no fix available what can i do? [xxx] cell [xxx] email: [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Takata recall chevrolet is out of replacements

Dash is cracked by passenger airbag and it will not allow the cover to attach properly. Sharp plastic edge may cut airbag when deployed making it useless. Also, there is a recall on the airbag and gm is stating that no parts are available and they won't be for a while.

Dashboard has begun to crack in numerous areas, 1 area that is very concerning is right by the passenger airbag which i feel concerned that if it were to inflate the dashboard would would send projectiles flying. The dash is also cracking severely above the instrument cluster. Upon research this is a issue that the internet is flooded with and gm refuses to address the problem. I contacted gm in regards to this issue and they refuse to take responsibility although at a dealethis ship when i went looking around 4 out of the 5 vehicles for sale on the lot had the same cracks in the same places. I need help from nhtsa to resolve this issue before my family is put in danger in the event of a vehicle accident. This crack seemed to occur when the weather got cold, i turned on my heat and the desk immediately cracked. This is flawed equipment and we as consumers should not have to deal with it.

The dashboard has severe long cracks that run into where the airbag would deploy. This is clearly a defect and 1000's have reported same issue. The edges are very sharp. The vehicle is <4 years old and gm will not replace. Concern is the dash could cut the airbag as it passes by the sharp edges or sharp edges could severely cut driver or passenger as airbag pushed broken dash into passenger or driver.

Takata recallso i can only complain after something happens???this is taking too long and i have children in my car.

Cracked dashboard may cause plastic shards if the airbag deploys.

Dash is cracked in 6 different spots; 3 of the cracks being around the passenger air bag. If the airbag were to deploy, the dash would shatter thus causing sharp projectiles to be dispensed in the vehicle cabin potentially causing serious injury to the occupants. The cracks start down where the bolts connect to the body (they extend further down than what can be seen in the photos).

Have not been notified of an available remedy as yet (may 03,2019)

Dashboard cracked in 2 spots, 1 next to the passenger side airbag possibly corrupting the deployment of the air bag

Stabilitrak and engine warning lights flashing, warning chime bong-bonging, and dic says stabilitrak off, service stabilitrak, and engine power reduced. Running rough

Electronic stability control, traction control system, vehicle stability control--the next wave of recalls is coming.are you prepared....

Cam lifters going bad on 2010 chevy (suburban).was noticing on internet several vehicles between the year 2010-2013 have been having problems with this.started off as the stability tracking which i shelled out $700 to the dealer.came back the next day to the dealer to find out it was cam lifter and the bill was going to be $5,000.chevy acknowledged their is a problem and was only willing to pay 70% of the bill.i would like to ask for a recall on this part by chevrolet if it is a known problem and they are willing to pay partial.it was too dangerous for a family to be driving and the vehicle loses power causing it to slow and jerk. God forbid this happens to someone on the freeway and they are rear ended causing an accident with injuries or fatality.

Cracks in dashboard drivers side & on passenger side as well-dealership replaced ($100.00) -told me to stop using armor all and the like- now 2nd dash has done the exact same thing--next problem lifter started tapping (70,000) afm 5.3l engine--anyone else experiencing the same

Rear glass will open on its own while driving.

3rd row seat does not have locking seat belts but 2009 and previous model years do have locking seat belts on the 3rd row.

Issue: 2010 suburban 3rd row seats do not have locking seat belts - making them unsafe for an infant car seat.2009 and previous do have the 3rd row locking seat belts.i took the car to the local dealer where i purchased the car at, and the service manager was able to confirm that the above is accurate (he cross-checked it against a few other 2010/2011 models that also did not have the locking seat belts in the 3rd row seat).

On mother's day i was driving my 2010 chevy suburban with 92k miles on it.when i was leaving the car wash i accelerated on the gas to get onto hwy 29. As soon as i got unto hwy 29 a car switched from the left lane to cross over in front of my vehicle to get on to the on ramp for hwy 37 east.i pressed the brake to ensure i wouldn't hit him. However, when i pressed the brake the suv was still accelerating. So i looked down to see if the gas peddle was stuck under the mat.it wasn't. So pressed the brake harder.the suv was still accelerating. I then put the suv in neutral, but is was still accelerating all the while keeping my foot firmly pressed on the brake.so i moved the gear shift into the manual position. Once moved into the manual position the dash read m2 which represents second gear. So i quickly took my foot off the brake, gave it gas, quickly shifted back into neutral while hitting the brake and then into drive. The engine revved real loud and then the brake starting working again and accelerator was normal.my vehicle was towed to team chevrolet in vallejo & a case was opened with gm. I have been getting the run around with both and mostly recently was told a lie from the gm representative.

When the vehicle is put in drive or reverse and parking brake is still engaged there is nothing to warn you and the vehicle still performs as though the parking brake were was never engaged then after the vehicle reaches about 10 mph there is warning sound.

Driver's side dashboard crack over instrument cluster.no accident, original owner, crack just occurred and pieces have fallen into instrument panel.crack is running vertical from seam in front of driver's windshield up to driver's instrument panel area where steering wheel is located.

Rear chevy bow tie allows water inside and starts to have interior peeling.

My dashboard at my passenger airbag and at my gauge cluster have severe cracks. I'm afraid my passenger airbag will not deploy and my gauges will fall deep inside the dash. Gm is aware of the problem, but will not recall for fix. This is a serious concern.

The dash has a severe crack that causes a major distraction and safety concerns while driving due to the vibration and noise.

Driver's side dashboard crack over instrument cluster.no accident, original owner, crack just occurred and pieces have fallen into instrument panel.crack is running vertical from seam in front of driver's windshield up to driver's instrument panel area where steering wheel is located.

The dash is cracked at the corner of the passenger airbag.this seems to be a repeated issue with gm and is clearly a defect when so many of their vehicles have been effected in the same place! there is already a recall on the passenger airbag that gm isn't wanting to fix and now my dash is cracked completely apart by the passenger airbag. How safe is this, where is their responsibility?

The dashboard has begun to crack and is in the area of the air bags.i am concerned that this has compromised my safety and that of my passenger if there were be a necessity for the airbags to be deployed.shards of the brittle plastic could puncture the airbags or be projected through the cabin injuring passengers.this is my second suburban purchased new and with as much as i have spent, i would expect it not to crumble apart in five years or that the company would be apologetic and eager to address the issue.extremely dissatisfied and unwilling to spend $800 quoted be dealer to replace poor quality dash with the same part that will crumble like the first in four or five years.this will be my last chevy purchase.

Upon exiting the vehicle i was sliced by the chrome coating peeling away from inner door handle. Finger was sliced about 3/4" long and bad enough to bleed. I then took notice of other inner door handles and found passenger side front inner door handle also having the chrome coating peeling from handle. Further research found this problem on earlier gm models.

The dashboard is cracking in several spots. The main concern is that it is cracking at the corner of the airbag deployment area. If the airbag were to deploy it could be punctured or cut during deployment due to this cracked dashboard.

Cracked dash over instrument cluster, stationary nothing happened to cause it.

Major cracks in dash board on both the driver and passenger side. Passenger side airbag has cracks right next to it. If airbag goes off parts of dashboard will go flying and could injure someone in the car.

The dashboard is cracked in two places

Like many other chevy/gmc light truck and truck owners, my dash has cracked. I worry that the cracked sharp dash could interfere with the airbags ability to deploy safely.

I noticed my dash was cracked while cleaning my windows. It is crack at both airbags both passenger & driver. It rattles while driving down the highway. It is very disappointing that i have a car in such pristine condition with low-mileage & the dash board looks like something in a 35 year old vehicle.i have been told by the dealer & gmit is the dash pad & is around $1800.00-$1900.00 to replace. Not only is it a visual & noise nuisance i feel it could be extremely dangerous if i were in & accident & the dash would splinter into hundreds of pieces that could kill or cause serious injuries even blindness.

The dash board cracked in two places, one by the passenger side airbag and one by the instrument cluster.this occurred while driving home from work on a paved road out of the blue.heard a "snap" sound and there it was, cracked.

Like many other chevy/gmc light truck and truck owners, my dash has cracked.

Dashboard has cracked from the steering wheel consul to the airbag compartment. Fear that this will impact deployment of airbag or cause dashboard to shatter if airbag is deployed.

The edges are very sharp. A piece has cracked and fell into the a/c vent. I have multiple cracks formed on my dash panel over the instrument cluster one is very large i know this is a major issue on this vehicle and could cause injury if in a accident. The vehicle was sitting in my driveway when this happened.this is a widespread problem that gm has refused to acknowledge. There are thousands of people affected by this. This dashboard should be recalled. It seriously impacts our resale value.

My dash is cracked next to the airbag and this could potentially be a hazard if the airbag is not properly contained.

The contact owns a 2010 chevrolet suburban 1500. While driving approximately 50 mph, the contact noticed a warning light illuminated that indicated a loss of engine power and the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after removing the key from the ignition and waiting several minutes. The vehicle was equipped with on-star and the on-star representative advised that the throttle body sensor had caused the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician advised that the throttle body sensor would need to be replaced and the computer would need to be rebooted. The vehicle was repaired and the dealer covered the costs of repairs. The approximate failure mileage was 41,500.

While accelerating at 40 mph the vehicle started to accelerate but then it made a clicking noise and slow until speedometer read 15 mph then i was able to accelerate again but gm onstar and the dealer have no information for this problem and cannot duplicate.

Gm replacement mirror will shake/flutter on right side the part only functioned properly for 2 days.

Rear glass will open on its own while driving.

Right out side mirror shakes/ flutters when going down.

The "chrome clad" wheels on my 2010 suburban started showing air pocket and i now know chevrolet went the cheap route and put a plastic cover on the wheels for the 75th diamond edition 2010 suburbans.

After 3 attempts to fixpeeling chrome clad wheels the dealer cannot pinpoint the root cause. The dealer will not say either way as to weather or not there is a larger issue in which the integrity of the wheel is being compromised. I am concerned about this issue being more than just an appearance flaw . It seems as though the wheels its self may have stress cracks that cause this issue on the exterior of the wheels which is plastic and around the valve stem which is also plastic. Gm insist that there is no larger issue but will not comment on what is causing this issue. I am still questioning the motive for choosing to use plastic and aluminum instead of solid metal considering the overall weight of the vehicle it does not seem to be safe or even close to being safe.
