We need the takata airbag issue fixed for the safety of ourfamily.

Have been waiting for parts since may 2016. I would like this problem to be taken care of in a timely manner and it has not been.

There is a crack on the top of the dashboard along the side of the passenger front airbag.

We were first notified of the recall in july, 2016 - 6 months have gone by and we can't get anyone at gm/chevy to provide any estimate for when the repair will be done - as i mentioned, a full 6 months has gone by and we haven't a clue how to fix this

Takata recall my airbags still have not been replaced received a letter back in 2016

Takata recall - i'm the owner of a 2008 chevrolet suburban 1500 ltz.two years ago i received a letter saying that the takata air bags were subject to recall due to explosive hazards, but said that we should continue to drive the suburban as usual (? - does that make any sense?)and that it was illegal to disconnect them even though they might kill you if they exploded! does that make any sense? (not to me!)i am a grandfather with two precious grandchildren. We go camping with them and my grandson who is 14 and six feet tall often sits in the front passenger seat even though we've told him to sit in only the rear seats ('i'm not a child anymore grandpa'). Gm has plenty of time to replace these airbags. We live in indiana we're the spring summer humidity is over 80% on a regular daily basis. If humidity is the accelerator for the airbags potential explosive malfunction, we are driving a car with bombs surrounding us!!! i don't want to die, nor does my wife nor do my grandkids!!!when can we get these dangerous airbags replaced?we plan to keep this suburban for another 5 years because it's trade-in value is nil with an airbag recall warning. When will i get mine replaced!

Dash cracked in multiple places, but especially around the airbag.

2008 chevrolet k1500 suburban. Consumer writes in regards to takata airbag safety recall. *ldthe consumer stated the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time completing the recall repair. The consumer no longer owns the vehicle.

Takata recall, i received a recall may, 2016 and now i received a letter november 2017 for the same recall. It tells me to go to my dealer and have this fixed for free and i did today 11/3/2017 and they tell me there is still no fix for this issue......why!!can someone help me with this so it can get fixed, i don't want to get in an accedent and find out the hard way that someone dies because this was never taken care of. Why did i just get this letter and still no fix comes up. I want this done asap before someone dies......can any help with this!!

I received a recall notice from gm in the june or july 2016, took the notice to the dealership, crossroads chevrolet of joplin, mo (417)626-6620, i was told i would be notified when to bring my vehicle in to replace the airbag. Today on 1 nov 2017 i again contacted the service department, and this time i was told " we have no information on a recall. " i gave them the recall # from the gm website #2049152 nhtsa #16v383, i was then informed that was a bulletin for headlamp adjustment. After further discussion i was then told "gm is fighting the decision, so there is nothing available for the recall."vin: [xxx] gm recall #:2049152nhtsa # 16v383date issued: may 27, 2016information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

The dash panel is cracking very badly on the vehicle.especially around where the airbag is supposed to deploy. Concerned that sharp edges on the cracked plastic will impair the function of the airbag

Dash has been replaced in 2010 and is now cracked in several spots including area around the passenger airbag.

Takata recall

Takata recall.received notice from gm that i needed to schedule maintenance to repair defect.when i call, dealership tells me that no fix is available

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet suburban 1500. The contact received a notice for an unknown recall regarding the air bags. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Hubler chevrolet (1705 lafayette ave, crawfordsville, in 47933, (765) 231-4163) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. The vin was unknown.

Tamara recall. Vehicle is telling me to service airbags.

"takata recall" the airbag deflate light on my truck's dashboard was triggered due to faulty airbags. Have contacted a local dealer twice only to be told that there is not a current remedy or plan in place to replace the airbags.

Takata recall- got the official recall almost two years ago, still no remedy.

Takata recalldealer says no outlook for repair / replacement of airbag under the recall. Dealer says gm has no plans for replacement or repair regardless of recall notice. First inquired 7/20/2016, then 3/12/2017, 9/15/2017, 3/10/2018, and 9/15/2018 receiving same answer / response from gm dealer. Dealer says gm is intentionally slow walking the solution and there is nothing that he [dealer] can / will do about it.

Takata recall. Gm issued a recall notice for my car in july 2016. They have done nothing to remedy the recall and claim to still be working on a solution. That's an unacceptable and very dangerous delay. If gm cannot figure out what to do, they should give affected drivers the option of using a loaner vehicle until they do figure out what to do.

I was driving on 7th ave and a car ran a stop sign atan intersection. It was dark early morning. I hit the car coming across and drove it into a tree.the driver in the camry had to be cut out of her car . My car had the front end severely damaged. Almost $10,000 damage to my car. The airbags did not activate. I asked the body shop doing the work and the state farm insurance claims person about why they did not work and was told the accident may not have been severe enough or the angle we hit did not require themto deploy. The driver in the other car went to the hospital. And i had knee surgery. I do not know the status of her injuries. I wonder why my airbags did not deploy at such a collision and if there are other suburbans out there with the same problem the owner just doesn't know or won't know til a collision.

Front air bag sensors always going bad. Sensors are on backorder; this tells me other people are having this problem too. This is a major safety concern.have a 2001 ford escape (15 years old). Have never replaced a airbag sensor.

Dash is cracking around passenger side airbag,if its deployed the hard plastic dash fragments could be deadly

"takata recall" airbag has clearly deployed within the dashboard of the front passenger side. The entire dash all around the airbag is cracked and broken. The airbag is soft in the area where there should be an airbag. Gm is refusing that this is an airbag issue based off of pictures and is refusing to investigate further saying that is just a broken dash and i asked for an inspection which they denied. I want to ensure my safety and passengers safety so therefore will disable the front airbag as it may not engage or may sends shards of plastic into the face of my passenger if it is ever deployed.

Received a recall on july 2016 and still not be replaced. Can't sale the vehicle until this is fixed. Over 2 1/2 years and still no replacement.when can this problem be resolved?

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated that when driving at various speeds, the doors would lock and unlock independently with the illumination of the service air bag warning light. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times for repairs but to no avail. The dealer advised that each component had its own modular but replacing the modular for each component had not corrected the failure.the failure mileage was 20,000 and the current mileage was 24,000.

Takata recallmy complaint is, this is from may 2016, why is there still not a fix in place if takata won't fix it then gm should take care of this. It's not safe. Maybe i should get a loner truck until mine is fixed. No one has answers, can someone give me an answer!!

Takata recall. The recall of my vehicle was announced in may 2016. I was first notified in july 2016. In the intervening year and a half, gm has been dragging its feet while takata has become insolvent and is in the process of bankruptcy reorganization and i am driving my family around in a potentially unsafe car. That is unacceptable. If the car is unsafe, gm needs to move quickly to resolve the problem so that more people are not put at risk (and left to try to collect from an insolvent manufacturer). Please do something to get this recall resolved quickly!

Takata recall, i have now received three annual notices of the recall for the killer airbag in my vehicle. To date, i have received no notice of repair parts being made available. This is an unreasonable delay in the repair to my vehicle putting myself and my family at risk of injury or even death. Three years is far too long to still not have my vehicle repaired. I am demading that gm be forced to either repair the vehicle now or buy it back at a fair market value if they are unable to make repairs within the next 20 calendar days beginning 09/06/2018. No one should have to live "or die" waiting years to get an extremely dangerous recall completed. It is time for action now. No more excuses.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet suburban 1500. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v383000 (air bags) and stated that the part was not available within a reasonable time frame to schedule the recall repair. The dealer (heritage chevrolet, 12420 jefferson davis hwy, chester, va 23831, (804) 748-6461) did not give a specific date for when the part would become available so the contact was unable to determine when the vehicle would be repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and could not provide an estimated date for when the remedy and repair parts may be supplied to the dealer. Initially the vehicle was added to the recall may 27, 2016 and the contact just recently received the interim notice with no eta as to when the second notice may be sent from the manufacturer indicating that the part was available which was unacceptable to the contact. The contact was not experiencing a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Takata recall - has not been fulfilled.airbags are still unsafe and potentially a hazard.

Takata airbag recall: i have been in contact with the chevy dealership in my area regarding this recall. I have been told several times that there are no parts or resolution to this issue. Just recently on 11/29/17 i visited classic chevorlet in sugarland texas and inquired about getting the airbag serviced. The airbag service light in my vehicle has constantly stayed on for the past three months. When i get in to my vehicle the airbag service light comes on and stays on whether it is in motion or parked.i have been waiting for over a year to find out what takata will do to fix this problem. This is a safety concern for me and my family every time we get into my car. Someone needs to find the remedy for this soon before people are seriously hurt or lose their lives.

Dash is cracking into pieces that would be dangerous shrapnel in the event of the airbags deploying.

Takata recall.the manufacturer has failed to even have a plan for when to replace my defective air bag. This is going on way to long.

Left and right rear exterior door handles broken/inoperable. Those were removed and replaced at dealership, but at half price (parts and labor) since i had gone over the 36,000 mile warranty. Since that time, i have had all four mounts on exterior door handles break making it necessary to open the doors very carefully so that the handles do not break off completely so i can open the doors. Also i have had to replace the actuators on the driver's door and the left rear door. Now the locks on all four doors work only intermittently, both by remote control and by manually using the master electric locks on front doors. I believe the problems with the locks and handles could someday cause a person's death, should they ever need to exit or enter during emergency situations (just use your imagination). Gm should recall and address these problems immediately as this has been known about for years now!

I'm having problems with the door locks. All of them goes out at some time. I'm not able to get into my vehicle with the key or anything. I'm afraid that there's going to be a time when i'm not able to get into my vehicle for something important or even to get my kids. There are a lot of people with this problem. I think this should be looked into for a recall. Please help! these power lock are defective.

Engine stalls in traffic, rapidly goes from drive to park multiple times, door locks rapidly cycle multiple times, gauges flash, radio clock does not keep time. This is my 3rd report since august to your office for this problem.this is the 4th time since august our vehicle has been in the shop totaling more than 8 weeks. Chevrolet can't fix the problem and keeps trying to blame it on an after-market dvd player we had professionally installed. The dvd player was disconnected and suspected wires repaired by chevrolet but the problem keeps happening. There are many others who are experiencing very similar problems.the ny times published an article summer of 2010 that you should read about this year group electrical system problems and you, nhtsa, are under fire in it. I am publishing the web link here to help bring more attention to this problem:http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/06/11/company-involved-in-g-m-recall-said-the-problem-runs-deeper/the internet traffic is quickly increasing about this base vehicle frame/year group of trucks experiencing serious electrical system problems. At first glance most internet traffic points to the windshield fluid heater problem. When you dig deeper into the blogs and forums you start to uncover far more serious problems that people are experiencing.

I am a military helicopter test pilot and faa licensed aircraft mechanic. We bought this vehicle new in 2008 and it has been properly maintained and cared for. We had to replace a dead battery in july 2011 and following that the radio stopped keeping time when the vehicle was turned off. Then a few weeks later the electrical system shorted out multiple times while driving. The door locks cycled repeatedly and the instrument console flashed in unison. Also following each event the radio clock time and date had reset. It has done this on four separate occasions since late july. As a precaution the battery connections were rechecked and found properly secured, although this should not have caused this problem. Each time the problem has occurred it has happened quickly but the engine momentarily exhibited reduced power when it happened.

Passenger side door lock stopped working on 08 suburban.dealer replaced lock.

Failure of power assisted door locks.doors will not open with power switch. Solenoid has burnt out. Gm has recognized problem with faulty parts manufactured in china.replaced firstsolenoid that was close to being under warranty.the three other units that have now failed will cost $90.00 each to replace. Thousands of complaints have been filed with the ntsb and gm but the refuse to do a manufacturers recall.

Rear radio/control system started to smoke while stopped at an intersection in october 2018. We have not tried the radio, but the heated seat doesn't work. We are unsure if we should go out of town with it and have not had it inspected.

Rear radio/control system started to smoke while stopped at an intersection about a month ago.we have not tried the radio, but the heated seats still work.we are unsure if we should go out of town with it and have not had it inspected.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet suburban 1500. While driving approximately 60 mph, all the warning indicators illuminated and the check engine light kept flashing. The braking ability seized. The contact had to maneuver to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the power control module system malfunctioned. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was invalid. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

When i tried to open rear door, it would not open, due to door latch assembly going bad. Only knowing this is a problem after doing some research. Now i do not have the problem with not being able to open door at all, the manual switch still works, but i sympathy for them that don`t. I can just imagine if i had to get a child or a handicapped adult from the back seat in a hurry and the door would not open for me to do so. I have read on some other sites that gm is aware of the problem, and know the part is defective. I have also researched enough to know there is a new part number for the oem part. So if they know it is junk, make it right. A humans life over a hand full of money. Not tough for someone with feelings to make.i hope the national highway traffic safety administration finds a way to make them to repair, replace, and if someone has paid to fix their problem, before it was recalled, reimbursement.

After having to replace my chrome door handle that broke on my back left door, the power lock is now not working on the same door.my children ride in this car, and i too am extremely frustrated that their safety is in jeopardy because of this issue.i'm beyond disappointed that my $55,000 vehicle has had so many issues.please gm recall this vehicle and fix this lock issue!it's not safe!!

Rear hatch failure. Electric opening. Opened 24 inches and then closed under motor power. Caught dog in the door though no serious harm done. However it did not reverse as it is supposed to do when it comes down on an object like a child or dog. Dealer replaced struts which seems to have fixed the problem. This is a serious flaw. It was just lucky it only caught the dog's tail. If it had caught her head, she would be dead.

After a day of using the vehicle in rainy conditions i tried to start it up and it would crank but not start and brake lights wouldn't not work when pressed with the key off the truck was stationary and had error codes and cel for fpfcm circuit failure. This issue was a recall for my make and model but my vin was excluded possibly negligently. Since the event i additionally have dic messages to check the air bagsand check brakes

Last year 2012, the suburban was blowing smoke out tailpipe, less than 100k miles, so dealership installed new valve cover with proper grommit for pcv under warranty.sept. 2013 115k miles, engine bucking, dash lights all on, running on 7 cylinders, chevy dealership states #1 spark plug "came out".and that oil pressure sensor was bad, but still pressure, so not urgent....nov 19, 2013 - truck now making 'back fire' noises and pressure sensor moving back and forth across 40....afraid will break down again.also, have peeling chrome on inside door handles like prior complaint, that is cutting hands/fingers!

Engine lifters started tapping then stuck then were mushroomed by cam shaft.had to replace engine. Cost $7,300.told a very common problem on this vehicle.

Engine mounts repeatedly fail and have been replaced 4 times, now it occurs 1 per year.the engine twists and clunks around inside the engine compartment.

Jan 26, 2015, 91,750 mileage. Sudden suspension stabilizer light, check engine light and running rough. Dealer said brake switch and replaced. Possible other electrical issue also ruled out. Feb. 15, 2015, 92,413 mileage. Same problem now diagnosed as #4 lifter broke. Fixed for half cost. Less than 300 miles later, march 3, same lifter broke again. Threedays later on family funeral out of town trip it broke again, same #4 lifter. Three times in 1000 miles is ridiculous.finally right... For three years! aug. 30, 2018, 136,000+ miles. Multiple broken lifters with cam damage.rebuild or replace motor for $6500 or more. Replaced with factory gm crate reman. For $7500. Plus tax. All at my cost! why is this not a factory design flaw problem on recall, auto warranty or even completely stop putting this afm lifter on the market. To my best recollection, the vehicle was being driven in regular daily city traffic in little town fernandina beach, florida for three of the four times it broke. One time was highhway travel coming home from sarasota florida.not just an economic or inconvenienceissue but a serious potential for accidents when the vehicle suddenly looses power when this happens. Could be seriously rear ended or t-boned trying to pull out in traffic. From the research i've done so far and the blogs on this issue for nearly 10 years on line, its time to get gm to fix the real problem or stop building it and pay for the repairs.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet suburban 1500. The contact started the ignition and a tapping sound emitted from the engine. The failure recurred as the vehicle was being driven. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis. The technician stated that the cam shaft lifters would need to be replaced. The vehicle was schedueld for repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 119,000.

This engine is burning 2-3 quarts of oil in between oil changes (car has less than 50,000 miles on it).this is the only car i have had in 30 years that burns this much oil.i am constantly adding new oil to this engine and still having to change the oil regularly in order to stay in compliance with the manufacturer's warranty despite refilling half of the oil with new oil between changes.

Valve on cylinder 7 wont operate due to afm system

Excessive oil consumption of the 5.3l engine.it 'burns' a quart of oil between 1100 and1500 miles. The tsb issued on the engine fixed nothing. Chevy said they won't do any more which is indicative of the corporate culture at chevy.this has been an ongoing problem.

On four occassions, this vehicle loses power and stalls out while driving - has happened on four occassions annually within the month:12/2009; 12/2010; 01/2011; 01/2012.on each ocassion, the dealer has replaced throttle body under warranty.problem does not appear to have been fixed and is a safety concern.

Problem: unstable & inadequate jack for vehicle.i had a flat on my vehicle and used the factory jack.while pulling the tire off the lugs the vehicle shifted and the jack fell over. Luckily the tire was still within the wheel-well and tire/rim broke the fall.even though i was on a flat level concrete parking lot, the stability of the jack is poor (very small footprint and top of the ram is also small).not very much front-back movement causes instability for the jack.in addition, the maximum jack height provided barely enough clearance to put a new tire on (20? factory tires).this would have not been possible on any other surface like the shoulder of a highway.i do admit that i had not properly ?chocked? the tires that allowed for more movement than normal, but the movement that caused the fall was not excessive.i personally rotate my tires on all four of my vehicles frequently using a floor jack and never have had this problem.the factory jack is unsafe and undersized for this large vehicle (suburban).a co-worker also experienced this same accident with his tahoe while in his garage.

After a day of using the vehicle in rainy conditions i tried to start it up and it would crank but not start and brake lights wouldn't not work when pressed with the key off the truck was stationary and had error codes and cel for fpfcm circuit failure. Passenger side door lock stopped working on 08 suburban.dealer replaced lock.

I own a 2008 chevrolet suburban.over a 6 month period, three (3) of the door lock actuators have stopped working and were replaced. Now the fourth one has stopped working. General motors has done nothing to remedy the problem after making them aware of it. The failure of the door lock actuators is constant. There were no events leading to the failure other than an inferior part. The only way to unlock the rear doors is to crawl over the front seats into the rear of the vehicle. In the event of a traffic accident this will become a safety hazard due to the following reasons. 1. The power locks inside the door and the remote fail to unlock doors 2. There are no key holes on the rear doors to unlock them in the event of a crash 3. This will lead to entrapment inside of the vehicle if the doors are locked in a crash.

Vehicle automatic door locks will not work a described often requiring someone to crawl in the backseats to unlock the doors in order to get the kids out. There are no key locks on new vehicles for theback doors and when the locks mess up it requires someone to crawl across and unlock it manually.. Recently my back left door lock messed up and i took it in and paid out of my pocket to have it fixed due to the fact that i cannot find any gm dealership in belgium that will honor a gm warranty due to a fallout with chevrolet. One month after i had the back left door lock replaced out of my pocket, the front left went out and will not lock or unlock. This vehicle has 20,000 miles on it and is still under factory warranty. This is a huge safety concern for me and my family and also does not allow my on-star to work properly if i needed it as for they will not be able to remotely unlock a door with the lock actuator broken.

We have a 2008 chevy suburban and there seems to be a defect in the electric door locks. First the front passenger door lock went out that was fixed under warranty. About a month the drivers side doorlock stopped working. It appears to me that it is a defect.the dealership told me the repair would require a new wiring harness now since chevy had changed the locking wiring to an new design in 2009 and the 2008 was no longer available. It appears chevy knows there was a problem and does not want to fess up to it. The lock not working does cause a safety hazard since they are automatic and are expected to work for that safety condition.

Failure of power assisted door locks.doors will not open with power switch. Solenoid has burnt out. Gm has recognized problem with faulty parts manufactured in china.replaced firstsolenoid that was close to being under warranty.the three other units that have now failed will cost $90.00 each to replace. Complaint to document a safety issue on a 2008 chevy suburban.sharp edges on interior door handles causing serious injuries to the hands of passengers.the chrome finish is delaminating from the interior door handles causing sharp knife like edges as noted on several 2007 gm models in defect investigation report ea10004. My 2008 chevrolet suburban has the same problem as described in the previous investigation.several people have been injured by the sharp edges on the door handles in my 2008 suburban when trying to open the door from the inside.the sharp edges have caused deep cuts to the hands of my wife, and her mother, as well as minor cuts to others. There is a very serious potential for infection and transmission of disease because of the amount of bleeding from these injuries. Doors handles inherently carry germs, and because the injuries are caused by these door handles, the risk is considerably higher. Based on the research i have performed on the subject, this is a much more widespread problem than previously identified, and is not isolated to 2007 models alone.i have file a complaint the gm customer service in an attempt to resolve the matter. If gm is unwilling to replace these defective dangerous handles, then i will replace the handles to prevent further injuries at my own expense.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet suburban 1500.the contact stated that the electronic locks on the driver's side doors are not working properly.the doors are supposed to lock when the vehicle shifts out of park.instead, the contact has to manually lock the doors.when the child safety seat is in the rear driver's side of the vehicle, she must climb into the back seat to unlock the doors and get her child.if the vehicle is moving and the doors are unlocked, they could possibly open and cause the child to fall out of the vehicle.the dealer previously repaired the rear passenger side door, but currently the driver's side doors are not locking and unlocking properly.the contact wants all the doors on the vehicle repaired, but she has not yet heard a response from the manufacturer.the current mileage was 5,000 and failure mileage was 3,875.

Have replaced 3 electric door locks, each several months apart. I transport several of my grand kids and assume that i have locked the doors with my automatic lock only to find out the plugger is not working. This could lead to one of my children opening the door and following out.

Back passenger actuator in door locks not working. When these go out , the door cannot be opened from the outside with handle or remote. If a child or person was in the vehicle and there was a fire or accident, they could not get out. I have found online so many people with the same problem and gm is not willing to fix.why isn't there a recall with millions of people with the same issue.it is about $400/door to fix and from what i have read all four will eventually go out. 2008 chevy suburban.

2008 chevy suburban has had two outside chrome door handles break due to being held in by plastic.dealer has seen tons of these not only on suburbans but other chevy vehicles. See technical service bulletin #09-08-64-032.

My passenger rear door lock quit working and i am very concerned that my children might open the door while driving down the road...or that i will not be able to get them out of the vehicle in an emergency ie..fire, crash, water..etc.. Due to the locks only being able to unlock from the inside!!after looking into this, i feel that this is a huge issue with all 2008 chevrolet models and should be looked into by the authorities!!!do we have to wait until someone dies to have this issue resolved??my warranty happened to expire 6000 miles ago, and now i will have to pay $300 to get it replaced... From what i have read, i can expect to replace all of them eventually....that is $1200..i cannot afford to pay for even one right now, but i also can not afford to lose a child....so i am kind of up against a wall!please look into this!!thank you!

I own a 2008 chevy suburban and two of our outer door handles came off under warranty and the third right after now the fourth has come loose. Judging by many forums found on google this is a frequent problem. I find this also to be significant safety problem since i have little children who cannot get out the car by themselves in this problem hinders the door form opening from the outside in an emergency this could become a life-threatening defect of these cars. I really hope someone does something about this.

Seats producing excessive lint since i have owned the vehicle.first noticed at 17000 miles. Still happening.

While vehicle is in foward driving motion on street or highway(20 - 70mph)out of no where, truck will have a quick second halt in its motion, as if someone pulled and released the emergency brake(see attach recording) all i feel is a sudden jerk which its intensity depends on traveling speed. It startles me every time! during this time, the speed gauge drop then resumes regular speed, check engine light appear but immediately turns off as does the words "park assist off" also displays then immediately goes away. These sporadic episode are becoming more frequent and could cause tragic accident. I have made several attempts to have issue dignosed but unfortunately does not generate codes, according to onstar. Dealership was unable to duplicate the issue. However they recommended replacing throttle position sensor, brake lamp switch, spark plugs and wires, master cyl and brake booster, flushing and replacing brake fluid for possible solutions but it did not fix the problem. What i have notice the issue becomes more frequent when there is studden braking(stop and go traffic) followed by increased acceleration.in addition while sitting idle in park for about 10mins with a/c on, truck idles down like it is about to cut off(engine light comes on then immediately off) but doesn't . Dealership was unable to duplicate that too. Also after braking for stop light i sometimes feel several thumps as though i'm not putting enough pressure on brake peddle. No matter how much pressure i put on brakes the thumps still sporadically occur. Sometime when this happens it is followed by the first issue i meantioned when driving is resumed (hault, engine light, park assist off warning).

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet suburban 1500.the contact stated that all four brake rotors have rotted, which causes the vehicle not to brake properly.whenever he attempts to stop the vehicle, the brakes begin to pulsate and the vehicle fails to stop completely.he took the vehicle to the dealer on four occasions.during the first visit, the dealer stated that the rotors needed to be repaired, but that he needed to wait a little longer.the failure worsened and the vehicle was taken to the dealer a second time.the mechanic stated that they needed the manufacturer's approval to make repairs.during the third and fourth visits, a mechanic test drove the vehicle and stated that it was braking properly.the contact is scared to drive the vehicle due to the improper braking conditions.the failure mileage was 12,000 and current mileage was 18,000.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet suburban 1500. While checking the brakes and removing one of the tires, the contact noticed that the cross member that held the steering stabilizer bar was rusted completely through on the passenger side near the bolts. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 114,000.

Dashboard began to crack at around 50000 miles. Contacted the dealer. Quoted $1400. Contacted gm. Was told i would need to pay $400 out of pocket as a deductible. I couldn't afford it at the time so i had to pass. But i feel i shouldn't have to pay for a factory defect that gm continues to ignore. Thousands of people have been affected. This is unsafe. The dashboard is cracked around the passenger side air bag which could cause shards of plastic to affect the front and driver upon the airbag being deployed.

The dashboard has cracked at the front left corner of the passenger airbag. It has also cracked at the instrument cluster. These cracks are extremely concerning, especially if i am in a crash. I am certain that the crack near the airbag will expand and create shards of plastic or worse, prevent the airbag from deploying properly.

Dash is cracking around passenger side airbag,if its deployed the hard plastic dash fragments could be deadly

Dash 2 cracks. One above steering column and one at the top left of airbag.

Engine mounts repeatedly fail and have been replaced 4 times, now it occurs 1 per year.the engine twists and clunks around inside the engine compartment.

I cut my finger on the interior passenger side door handle when exiting my vehicle last weekend.the metal lifted, making an extremely sharp edge.i emailed chevrolet on saturday in the early afternoon, but have not heard back from them yet.this is very dangerous, and i am not sure how to proceed.thank you for your help!

Dashboard is cracked in two distinct places and is a safety concern because it is next to the air bags

Dashboard has major cracks around airbags and electrical components are exposed to the sun.

Earlier today, the dashboard on my suburban spontaneously three crackswith no impact whatsoever.one of the cracks runs all the way from the windshield to the top of the dash above the steering wheel.the second crack splits off the first one and is heading toward the driver side window.this occurred while the vehicle was sitting in a parking lot, locked up and with nobody in the vehicle.prior to this happening, there was no previous sign of cracks of any kind and the vehicle was parked in the shade under a tree for the entire day.in addition, it was a rainy overcast day and the ambient temperature was only about 70 degf.

Both driver side and front passenger side chrome plating on door handles peeling off.my finger has been cut multiple times by the peeling "chrome".the cut is similar to severe paper cut.my husband has also cut fingers on the door handles.i have two very small children and worry about them cutting their fingers on it.

Dashboard is cracked at upper left corner of passenger side airbag location.dashboard also cracked at top of instrument cluster.airbag deployment may cause portions of dashboard to break free.

My dash has cracked and i believe that this may be a safety hazard if the airbags ever deploy. I did attempt to glue it.

Dashboard cracked in several places, concerned if airbags deploy, may send sharp plastic throughout cabin

The plastic jack wing nut that holds the jack stored securley in the interior wheel well twisted off the first time it was used.the jack was therefor unacessible for use.the lugwrench twisted apart when it was used to attempt to loosen the lug nuts.the metal in the lug wrench was very soft.

The dash panel is cracking very badly on the vehicle.especially around where the airbag is supposed to deploy. Concerned that sharp edges on the cracked plastic will impair the function of the airbag

Cracked dashboard is dangerous in an accident.

Dashboard of 2008 chevrolet suburban cracked in 2 places, including around passenger side airbag and above drivers side instrument cluster/steering wheel. Concerned for the proper deployment of the airbag during potential crash due to the cracked dash that surrounds the airbag. This is a safety issue that needs to be addressed. Hundreds if not thousands of other similar vehicles possess the same manufacturing defect in the dashboard and all have reported large cracks in the exact same area.

Broken upper dash that potentially could become propelled by a deploying airbag causing injury to driver or passengers

Dashboard has major cracks around airbags and electrical components are exposed to the sun.

My dashboard has cracked at the corner of the passenger air bag and above the instrument cluster

Interior paint on radio buttons, steering wheel began peeling off shortly after i bought the vehicle.

Dash is cracking into pieces that would be dangerous shrapnel in the event of the airbags deploying.

Door handles chrome plating peels off on interior door handles.i have cut my fingers multiple times opening the door.

Dash has been replaced in 2010 and is now cracked in several spots including area around the passenger airbag.

I am the second owner of a 2008 chevrolet suburban for the past 3.5 years. There was a small crack that started on the driver side dashboard which is now a long crack since it continues to grow. There is also a crack on the passenger side above the airbag. These cracks were not created by contact with another object, accident, items laid on top of the dash, or vandalism.i fear that if airbags are deployed, the dash will break apart and pieces of plastic will be projected towards the passengers causing great bodily harm or death.

Chevrolet dashboard cracking.....near passenger airbag and above instrument panel

I noticed the damage on yesterday.the dash on the passenger side has a crack from the top to the bottom near the airbag.my concern is that it has already caused damage or will eventually cause damage to the airbag and/or cause harm to a passenger riding on that side.i am somewhat concerned about driving it.i noticed it on yesterday, september 4, 2017.i have read quite a few complaints by others involving damage with the dash area on this type of vehicle.

Dash cracked in multiple places, but especially around the airbag.

I'm a owner of a 2008 chevrolet suburban and i have been the original owner of this vehicle. My dashboard has two large cracks and the one i'm most concerned about is the one there the front passenger side airbag. I very concerned that this could to lead to a catastrophic injury if the airbag deploys.

Electronic accelerator, cuts in and out, and accelerates without warning.

The wheel bearings on the right front wheel became unsealed.we were driving on a four-lane highway.the antilock breaking and stabilitrack warning lights came on.we did not know why.we continued to drive home on the interstate with about 100 miles to go.the car steering became intermittently difficult to control.eventually we stopped when the car was pulling drastically to the right and the wheel well was smoking.at this point the right front wheel was pointed toward a right turn while the left front wheel was pointed directly forward.we had to be towed to a chevrolet dealership.after new bearings were installed, calipers replaced, etc., the maintenance person at the dealership said that there was no reason to believe that the same thing would happen to the other front wheel.nevertheless, the same thing did happen to the left front wheel six months later 800 miles from home except the sealed bearings made a "clunk" sound when it happened as we backed out of a parking lot.we investigated the location of chevrolet dealerships and drove the car to a dealership about 30 miles away without incident.
