"takata recall" : received notification thru the mail. Went online to"www. Airbag recall .com" checked vin there and was directed to contact dealer to have airbag replaced. Called dealer and was told that there isn't anything they could help me with. So i guess the paper work i received in the mail is a fraudulent document.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban 1500. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v383000 (air bags). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Lindsay chevrolet (15605 jefferson davis highway, woodbridge, virginia 22191, (571) 200-4754) was made aware of the recall and stated that the parts were unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the air bag indicator illuminated in june of 2017. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

My dash started to crack about 2 months after i bought it. It started with a small crack near the airbag; but has now has expanded causing the airbag cover to lift. The dash is now cracked on both driver and the passenger side. I bought the vehicle 3 years ago and have spoke with the service department on numerous occasions in regards to fixing the problem as it seems to be progressing over the years; but each time i have been told that the manufacturer is only willing to cover a percentage.

Contacted dealer in 2016 about takata recall.told me the parts were not available.contacted dealer in oct 2017 again, told the parts were still not available.i believe the general motors has had sufficient time to acquire replacement air bag inflator and that they are deliberately stalling hoping the problem will simple go away.i need my truck fixed so that my wife can ride with me on trips.

I noticed last year that my driver side dash had a crack between the windshield and the steering wheel and at first was shocked as i thought i was seeing things but infactit was cracked. I contacted my car detailer and asked if he noticed it and he told me he sees this in many suburban's and escalades that he details and thought i was aware of it and would contact the dealership! i contacted the dealership that said it was not common and asked if i use a sun shade being that it's so hot in south florida & i told them i always do and i have a 1996 isuzu trooper and i don't have any cracks in my dash. The dealership said there was nothing they could do. I recently recieved a recall letter stating my vehicle had an airbag recall and when i went online to check the status i saw all these complaints about owners of chevy suburban's with dashboards cracking. I was on lunch break today and when i got in my truck i wanted to take a closer look at the airbag compartment and to my disbelief, the passanger side dash also had a crack in it now and in the exact same spot as all the other complaints just above the passanger side airbag compartment and same area on the drivers side. Being that both suburban's & escalades are manufactured by gm, i now know there's a serious problem and gm needs to take responsibility for this defect for the amount of money these vehicles cost!!! ( $72,000.00 was what my southern comfort custom suburban cost me.) so gm what are you going to do about these ongoing issues with cracking dasboards/airbags??? this is just the begining of my fight on this problem that should not have happened. And i see i'm just one of many complaints with this problem.

My two children and i where coming home from a wrestling tournament traveling on a highway doing about 65 mph. They were in the back seat. We all had seat belts on. I had a epileptic seizure and they said my foot hit the throttle so we might have be going faster when we hit.i last recall doing the speed limit. I went to the left and missed a power pole but hit the railroad tracks(these tracks are banked up on dirt and rock). Which caused the suburban to some how roll 4 to 5 times down the tracks.we ended up on the other side of the tracks on our rims.every tire was blown. Every window was shattered except the front it had a hole in a center of it which a railroad tie came thru.there areimpressions of the railroad road tracks on the suburban . The driver side of the suburban is smash down to the driver head rest . I ended up with a broken neck. Thank goodness my kids seats were reclined in the back or their necks would have broke. Not one part of this suburban is notsmashed. Everything flew out of it when we rolled. My son had to crawl out the window and search on the ground to find cell phones that flew out of the suburban when we wrecked to call 911. The side air bags failed my family. I always felt safe with them. But we rolled and they did not work. Even the front airbag didn't go off when i first hit the tracks. Besides my broken neck it all turned out good. I will never buy a chevy again. Our insurance company said our suburban is totaled. Only thing worth anything is maybe the seats. Everything thing else is scrap metal. If you'd like to see pictures your welcome to contact us. But please check into these suburbans. If we wouldn't have had seatbelts we would all be dead. My husband went and bought a 2015 ford . I will never put my trust in a chevy again. Or airbags. I'm wondering if they just put a airbag sticker in them to make us feel safe. Thank you

The door handles have cut three members of my family because the metal is peeling off of the plastic.seat belts are falling apart and at least 3 of them do not latch at all.this is very dangerous.there definitely should be a recall especially for the seat belts. Air bag light is constantly on and the dealer of course wants to "fix" it and states that if there is a crash that it may not work properly.........this after i had the top half of the engine rebuilt due to oil consumption problem.then there is the tire pressure monitor which apparently has issues after having new tires put on my car.nothing but problems with this hunk of junk. Will never buy another chevy vehicle.

The dark in cracking in multiple places including around the air bag. The danger is the dash itself could become pieces of shrapnel in an accident where the airbag would deploy. The cracks occurred while driving and we have been told it is due to the tight fit of the dash in the space allowed. This is our second dash as the first cracked dash was already replaced.

Takata inflators ... Still no repair info. Also, as noted in many other complaints, my passenger side airbag/dash cover has a huge crack all the way across.needs to be fixed.also - we have electrical issue after electrical issue.when will they address these issues?

The dashes of all gm trucks and suvs are cracking, badly. They're designed poorly and crack right around the passenger airbag deployment section. In the event of air bag deployment, it will send jagged plastic shards towards the occupants. This is completely unsafe and a serious hazard but gm refuses to correct the issue even though it has been acknowledged, hence i am filing this complaint.if you simply google gm cracked dash and enjoy all the posts and videos from frustrated americans. I have 4 daughters and it not right to have to worry about one of the being injured but a faulty dash please help. Thank you.

The dashboard is cracked in several places including over the instrument panel and around the passenger side airbag. If the airbags were to deploy, shards of the dashboard would become instant projectiles into the cabin potentially causing serious injury or death. Cracks occurred over a period of time when the vehicle was not in motion.

Takata recall:after receiving the recall court notice, october 2017, from tk holdings, inc, i took my vehicle to bomnin chevrolet west kendall, 11701 sw 152 street, miami, fl 33177 to have the recall performed on my vehicle.the service manager informed me that general motors have extensively tested these airbags in several similar vehicles and that i was not in any danger and that the replacement airbags are still not available.i would like to point out that i received the first recall notice from general motors on july 2016 and since then i have checked with the dealership periodically to have this recall performed.grand prize chevrolet now bomnin chevrolet continue to inform me that no parts are available to perform the recall and no repairs are authorized from general motors.this vehicle is operated on a daily basis and safety is paramount and of grave concern.gm recall number 49151

Takata recall info received, but chevy won't fix it.another issue is cracked dashboard in several places.i am concerned with its integrity.

"takata recall"once again i have attempted to schedule service to have the airbag inflators repaired or replaced as instructed by the recall notice.i have now been told that chevrolet has no remedy available for the recall and are currently waiting for analysis by the nhtsa of chevrolets independent testing which indicates the recall is not necessary.chevrolet states the vehicle is safe to operate.i guess the proof will be seen if the airbag deploys in an accident.

Takata recall.we are unable to get a repair and are afraid of driving it for fear of injury.

The sensor for the passenger side airbag on our 2007 chevrolet suburban does not function properly with a small adult weighing between 105 and 115 pounds sitting in the seat.the airbag continually switches back and forth from on to off on a trip.my wife will try to find a position where the airbag is on, only to notice several minutes later it is again off.

Battery in 2007 suburban ltzdrained twice had to be jumped and then taken to dealer then had to be replaced.

Dome light don't work very unsafe for my kids to get in or out of the car! very unsafe! dealer wants $475+ to diagnose problem they think" its short some where "they told me, makes me even more nervous. Need help!*ln

Car does not start. Completley dead battery. Easily jump starts.alt shows 14.5 charge after jump..thishas happened 6 times.t ook to dealership twice. Hey say - negative battery cable..

No crashes or injuries. On 2 occasions, with the ignition off and listening to the radio for about 10 minutes, the vehicle failed to start. On another occasion was cleaning the interior with the doors open and interior lights on. The vehicle failed to start. Drove the vehicle a short distance after recharging the battery. Safe lite auto glass placed polyeurethane glue on the rear window auto defroster metal contact to the rear window of my chevy 2007 lt suburban.i hit the remote starter and allowed the car to run for 9 minutes, the vehicle will auto shut off after 10 minutes.my daughter smelled smoke in the car so i inserted my ignition key and i rolled down the windows.i then backed my car out of the garage, pulled out of the driveway and my rear window exploded into pieces of glass everywhere.i called the police, filed a police report, filed a claim with my insurance company (geico, ref claim # : 0501768800101053) where the claims adjuster found that the metal contact did cause a chemical reaction with the polyurethane glue as the cause.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Every 4-5 months the battery goes dead.it's as if the lights or something was left on but once we get it started and check everything there has been nothing left on.after getting it started it will go another 4-5 months and be completely fine then all of the sudden it will be dead again.this has happened 5-6 times over the last three years.

Faults or shorts in the electrical harnesses have caused premature failure of headlamps and brake lights. Taking the vehicle to the dealership and the auto parts store they confirm that many people come in with this similar failure. Known issue with supplier quality on gm forums suggest that this has been an ongoing issue since model launch. We have replaced all lights and fuses chasing the harness and not still have the dealership stating that the entire electrical harness system needs replaced.

My wife was driving this morning and suddenly the engine stopped working and the steering wheel locked. Thank god she was driving in slow speed and could stop the vehicle and avoided a crash. It happened right before she had to turn left but the steering wheel locked and she went straight. She was scared a lot and what if this happened on the highway. Yesterday we have serviced the vehicle at the dealership. There was some recall and they updated the ecu on the vehicle.

Tire pressure monitoring system was problematic for years.the display would light and message center would indicate all tires were low when none were by check of accurate gauge.this problem has finally been addressed at least temporarily.check engine lights stay on.vehicle has been to shop and dealer on multiple occasions.tests have been run and the codes reset, to no avail.the check engine light is on and vehicle performance seems normal, however, the warning light remains useless for any "real" problem.please consider the low mileage (currently 18,224) when considering problems.

2007 suburban ltz battery has been completely drained 2xwithin one month. Once after having the doors and back open for approx 10 min and the other at a car wash while the staff cleaned the inside of the vehicle. ( approx 10 min). First time dealer blamed the cold and the lack of drivingat the time, had the battery tested and the battery is completely dead. Will be taking to dealership tomorrow. Reading the reviews and am astonished that there are so many complaints about the battery drain issue. We purchased this vehicle as a family vehicle, but am very concerned with its reliability. This is a huge issue for a family with children.

While driving the car logs go up and down, the stability control and park assist lights flash as well as the in dash audio system.the car looses power.scared of what will happen on the highway.

Ignition does not engage engine when key is turned. Takes several attempts of turning key on, completely off, then on again until engine will engage and start. Stabilitrak light illuminates and goes off every 20-40 miles. Rough shift between first and second gear.

No crashes or injuries. On the indicated date i had the engine turned off with the keys in the ignition, listening to the radio. After a short time approximately 10 minutes, i discovered that the car battery was completely drained. I have been careful not let these incidents occur again but it has repeated at least 6 times. The most recent time was when i had a flat tire replaced and the tire service tech attempted to reprogram the tire pressure monitor system at which time, the battery was drained immediately. The reprogramming was impossible because the battery would not provide electricity to complete the tpms. I followed the owner's manual's instructions' and had the same results, a dead battery and unsuccessful attempt. I now have a useless tpms and the danger of getting stranded with a dead battery. The dealership offers to attempt to fix the problem starting at $99.00 +. A new vehicle should be free of these types of defects. I should not be paying for the repair.

The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was jerking violently and the stability traction control sensor illuminated intermittently. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

While driving my 2004 gmc suburban home with my family.i looked down and noticed i was driving at 90 miles an hour. What a surprise.the speedometer was reading wrong.by the time i got home i was going 120 miles an hour pulling into my driveway.this just happened and i have not gotten it fixed yet.this could be a major safety issue if not fixed.i read many blogs and many people have had this same issue.i am very lucky that no one was injured or killed by this safety issue.in my opinion this should be covered by a safety recall.i work for gm and i am very embarrassed by this quality issue.so much for the quality of gm vehicles when i see many other customers have the same issue.

In addition, the contact mentioned that while at a traffic light with the brakes engaged, the vehicle accelerated independently without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician cleaned the throttle box but the problem recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 157,000.

Stability traction control light keeps coming on while in motion. With major oil consumption problems. Just in regular driving i've had transmission, and rear differential work done fixed the problem for a few months now back again with flashing check engine light. Saying cylinder 6 misfiring. I've already sunk in over 4k in this after buying it last year in dec.of 2017. After reading comments this really should be a recall. With so many of the same concerns and complaints that have been listed.

While driving approx. 20 miles an hour there was a loud thud and the service engine light and the traction control light both came on at the same time.the engine began to miss on acceleration and shifting between 1st and 2nd gears was so rough it shook the truck.the truck is only 6 months old and has 9, 000 miles on it.the suburban was driven to the dealership for repairs it took 3 days for them to diagnose computer relay was affecting the traction control system and #7 cylinder had seized.the entire cam shaft is going to be replaced.est. Work will take 7-10 days.

Engine started idling rough and the 'engine light' came on and stayed on.then the next day, went to start car and it was really idling rough, sputtering, then stablitrak light and 'traction control off' light and abs lights all came on. The car felt like it was going to die until about 20 mph, then made a jerking motion and ran fine. This continued to happen until i took it to the shop. They kept it for a week, replaced the fuel pump, but this did not fix the problem. The car still runs rough and the lights still come on whenever i have to idle, intersections, etc... I have been reading and i am concerned that there is no fix for this problem. I believe it is a faulty engine/electrical issue and there needs to be a recall. This is completely dangerous, if my stabilitrak system goes off and i am on unstable ground, rain, snow, etc... It will cause my car to brake and i will loose control of my car. I am worried that it is going to die in an intersection, since it has a hard time coming out of an idle with any power.

January 2011:i'm having the exact same problems with my 2007 suburban as the complaint filed on june 13, 2010.this is a problem that i had when the vehicle was new, as well.the engine seemed to be sputtering while idling today and by the end of the day it lost its stability control with warning signals illuminated on the dash.the transmission is bucking out of 1st gear and begins to grind slowly from a stop.i concur that this problem should be recalled, as it poses great danger on the road.

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 20 mph, the check engine and the traction control light illuminated constantly.the engine then lost the majority of power and would not accelerate.the vehicle was moved to the side of the road, and was shut off.the vehicle was restarted after 10 minutes and driven to a residence.the vehicle was taken to a service dealer, who was unable to determine the problem.the manufacturer was also notified.

Stability light and traction control light on saying need serviced, check engine light on, transmission slips from 1st into 2nd, and vehicle makes noise making turns.vehicle taken in for service but mechanic having trouble with codes.vehicle is 07 suburban with 961 miles.

We have a 2007 suburban with the 5.3l engine.after, much research on the internet, my wife and i have found that there evidently is a design flaw with the afm lifters.our vehicle does have miles, but since this evidently is a very common problem, we did think chevrolet would at least offer some assistance with the repair.a lifter collapsed and the cost to replace the lifters is $3,500.00, plus tax at tom gill chevrolet in florence, ky.i don't blame the dealer for this, but chevrolet has really dropped the ball on this issue for many, many vehicles with the same issue.something should be done to better protect the consumer.

The truck uses a quart of oil every 1000-1500 miles.this is not good for the enviornment or my wallet.

I was driving on a city street and made a right turn onto another city street and the engine started running rough and idle rough, service stabilitrak light stayed on, service traction control, transmission jerks from 1st gear to 2nd gear, engine ticking/knocking, service engine light flashing, scan code came up as misfire on cylinder #4, took vehicle to repair shop and lifters were replaced among other things; see attached files.

While driving under normal conditions, stabilitrak light illuminated and engine began idling rough. Codes read cylinder #6 misfire. Diagnosis revealed failed piston. Engine rebuild required at a cost of $6700. Stabilitrak light continues to go on and off.

Consumption of oil due to the stuck ring and been complaining since i hit 100k miles the dealer just gave me the run around.

Excessive oil consumption.1 month of driving is equal to 2-3 quarts of oil replacement.

I bought this vehicle used, the day i got it home it suddenly had no oil pressure. Chevy dealership put a "patch" on its boo-boo and sent me home. Now at 140,000 miles i once again have no oil pressure. Chevy says i need a new engine and of course i'm no longer under warranty. Approximate cost $6,700. This vehicle left me stranded on the side of the road twice. I have found hundreds of complaints of the exact same issue (same year, make and model) i'm having and chevrolet has yet to issue a recall on this defective motor. The company returned correspondence with me and informed me that their "calculator" says they cannot offer me any assistance. I now have a 4 month old son and over a foot of snow expected in my area over the next 24 hours. What happens if he is sick and i have no means to get him to a doctor because of this issue chevrolet won't own up to?

Engine oil consumption issue. Vehicle had been to bayside chevrolet in prince frederick, md several times for repairs but never fixed. Final time was pistons and rings replaced. 13 months and 23000 miles later the engine needed to be replaced.

Vehicle is burning approximately 1 quart of oil every 1,000 miles.

Since 2008 our suburban has required oil servicing on average every 2 months. We took it to many dealers and was told we needed to be able to track the consumption somehow. I stated, can't you check when the oil servicing light comes on and was told no. Don't know why it consumes so much oil and it's not leaking.

Like to place a formal complaint regarding the oil consumption for 2007 chevy suburban and the horrible quality of vehicle.a few months after purchasing the vehicle the transmission gave out.i've been having problems with oil consumption and its horrible.i believe that chevy should stand behind their product and do a massive recalls for these vehicle.again, chevy should stand behind their product.there are so many reviews about this same problem.obvious there is a problem.will never buy a chevy again nor will i recommend chevy vehicles!!

In oct. 2007 i purchased a brand new 2007 chevrolet suburban from gordon chevrolet in tampa florida, it had 20 miles on it. On december 9th 2008 while on my way home from work, at approximately 12:45 am, it exploded and was engulfed in flames. I received 2nd and 3rd degree burns and waited on the side of the road for close to 30 minutes for help to arrive. The suburban had absolutely no aftermarket changes or any type of modifications done to it. All of its servicing and repair work was done at cox chevrolet in bradenton florida, a general motors dealership. The truck had just over 35,000 miles on it and is now just a burnt out shell.during the 1 year and 2 months i owned it, i had several problems with it and took it to the servicing dealership for all the problems. My attorney and my insurance agent think it was a defect in the manufacturing or a defect in the repair. An official cause has yet to be determined and because of gm's going bankrupt they are not interested.

Vehicle has excessive oil consumption, using more than 1 quart of oil every 2k miles. I purchased the vehicle at a gm dealership with 67k miles on it. They told me it was just serviced, and the dipstick showed to be at the full line with clean oil. About 4k miles later the low engine oil light came on. The engine oil life indicator said it had 49% life left. I checked the oil level and found it was more than 2 quarts low. I have researched this and found that gm is either unable or unwilling to repair. I will contact the selling dealer for the record. *ln

I am seeing an excessive oil consumption issue with my 2007 chevy suburban. From my measure it is consuming 4 1/2 qts of oil per 3000 miles. The dealer acknowledged that this is a "known" issue but didn't perform any repairs. I am instead performing an oil consumption test. That's fine but i now have a family vehicle that i cant trust for anticipation of engine failure/lock up or worse engine burn up or fire from a low oil condition.

Excessive oil consumption - at least1qt per 1k miles sometimes more. Chevy eventually fixed this under warranty after proving out the consumption. Chevy corporate is aware of this problem in these trucks and has not only written it up, but has designed a fix for it, dealer states chevy corp declined to issue a recall because it's a $1600 repair. The issue is two-fold. Something to do with the valves not sealing correctly and oil in the oil plan splashing up onto the cylinder walls faster than the rings can remove it. When my vehicle was repaired, they did some work to the valve train, replaced fouled spark plugs and added some type of baffle to the oil pan.fix improved power, fuel consumption and reduced oil consumptions to normal levels. Truck now runs like new. If youare experiencing this go to chevy and demand the fix. You'll need to prove the oil consumption either through oil change logs, or as i did - which was to do an oil change at the dealer, have the oil plugs sealed by the dealer, then drive it 6,000 miles - having the dealer refill the oil when low to track consumption. They won't want to fix this because it's so expensive but demand the repair under the warranty.

The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban 2500.the contact took her vehicle to the dealer because it was underpowered.the vehicle stalled at intersections and while merging into traffic at 15 mph.she heard strange noises coming from the engine compartment.the dealer was unable to diagnose the cause of failure for five weeks.chevrolet sent a representative to inspect the failure and stated that the vehicle was designed to drive in that manner.the service manager and the dealer owner acknowledged the failure, but the district manager was reluctant and informed the dealer to stop repairing the vehicle.the contact drove the vehicle back to her residence where it currently remains.the current mileage was 3,000 and failure mileage was 2,500.

The engine consumes approx 1 quart of oil every 1700 miles.there is no oil leaking under the vehicle.

We have a 2007 chevy suburban it starting using excess oil around 21,000 miles when have had 2 oil consumption test done at the dealer.they replaced value seals 1,4,7,6 ..then started another oil consumption test.low and behold it lost a quart at 1750 miles.they are now looking at replacing lifters...we currently have 33,000 miles on the vehicle..have to keep running back every 500 miles to get this check. At first they kept saying normal to lose a quart of oil but now realize it is not normal..have yet resolved the issue.very upsetting to have a new vehicle and paid $48k and have to keep returning to the repair shop.we have looked up on the internet and it seems there has been many issue with this vehicle..

2007 (newer model) chevrolet suburban door chrome handles razor sharp edges.will cut fingers and hands!

Thank you

Gas leaking from top of gas tank on suburban.it has happened four times since june of 2007.never know when it is going to happen, doesn't happen all of the time, about every 4 months.it isn't a little but a lot causing a puddle and a horrible gas smell for a couple of days in my vehicle.when this happens everyone around the station is astonished at how much it leaks and that i get in the vehicle and drive off.the service department claims to replace a valve when this happens, but then why does it happen again and again.last weekend this happened to my family (3 kids under 4 are in the vehicle when this happens) while on vacation.needless to say i was very scared and on the edge of my seat making sure we were not around anything hot or anybody smoking.as one cigarette would have put our vehicle into shooting flames.we were also all exposed to the fumes all weekend long.

I drove 287 mi. To las vegas and on the return trip after filling up the tank. I drove 64 mi. @76 mph where i came to a town where reduce to 25 mph required and at the end of town the speed increase to 35 mph for a mile and 45 mph for a mile and as i tried to increase my speed to 60 mph the car started to sputter for a 1/4 to 1/2 mile and the engine failed (stopped)after the engine power fail i pulled off road and tried to start the truck without on result for the engine. I call nhp to help with my location and tow. I needed to get home by the next day i called vista chevrolet for service and could not do the work the same day i used and independent to replace my fuel pump which was ordered from the dealer.

Fuel lines on fuel pump corroded and rusted due to design of fuel tank, allowing sediment and water to sit, causing raw fuel leak whenever engine is running.poses extreme fire danger if not caught in time, as raw fuel dripping from vehicle onto ground.

The platting or plastic covering on interior door handle separates from handle along a seam on top edge of the passenger door handle. Passenger's hand was cut severely requiring medical attention. Upon examining handle on driver's side the same condition is beginning to occur. I have had to wrap tape around the handles to prevent further injury.

The chrome on both the driver and passenger side interior door handles is peeling off and cuts your fingers everytime you try to open the door.

Purchased new and own a 2007 chevy suburban.we have cut our hands several times opening the driver side door when pulling the inside door handle inward.this has been caused by the peeling fake chrome plastic that covers the inside handle.this peeling fake chrome creates a sharp edge asit peels off that is directly positioned to rub across one's fingers as you pull the door handle in toward you to open the door.

Vehicle torque converter slips / disengages on inclines causing the vehicle to roll backwards after trying to proceed after a stop. Must be on the gas simultaneously with coming off the brake to prevent rolling backwards into cars or people. Happens in drive, third and first. Transmission locks in second. Torque converter also slips while at idle in gear causing a rough idle situation.

Car is rolling backwards when proceeding after being stopped on an incline.

The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban.the contact stated that the 4-wheel drive shift indicator reached temperatures in excess of 100 degrees and could cause a burn to the touch.the manufacturer and a chevrolet dealerwereaware, and stated that thiswas normal and there was nothing to repair.the 4-wheel drive indicator was always heated, and the car had a burning smell because of it and got worse while driving.

Intermittent service 4 wheel drive lamp on and code c0378.

A few months ago, the seat belt in the second row (left side, behind the driver's seat) of my 2007 chevrolet suburban completely fell apart. On march 6, 2012, the passenger side seat belt stopped working and will not lock. On march 7, 2012, the driver's side seat belt stopped working and will not lock. Due to seat belt laws in our state and three children that have to be in seat belts, i am in a dilemma.

Current 9 passenger model of chevy suburban lacks a safe way to secure a child or adult safely in the center front jump seat.

2007 suburban with 3rd row seating. The seatbelts lock up with the slightest pressure (leaning forward, applying brakes). Seatbelt must be released from buckle, allowed to retract to reset.

The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban 1500.while placing fuel in the vehicle, the gasoline spews back out onto the contact.also, the rear door opened automatically and the flip-n-fold seats flipped up and down while the vehicle was in motion.lastly, the turn signals do not work.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and they made her an offer; however, the contact refused.the vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions.the contact was aware of the safety risk involved.the failure mileage was 18,000 and current mileage was 25,000.

Driver's seat back broken and front passenger seat twisted after rear end collision. Vehicle was stationary on a highway when struck from behind by another vehicle going in excess of 65 mph. My vehicle was moved 30 feet from point of impact. Force of impact broke driver's seat back. Driver weighs 220 lbs. Front passenger seat was twisted left. Passenger weighs less than 110 lbs. Both occupants injured.

I stopped into to teton motors in jackson, wy. And told them i heard a squeal from my brakes. They asked how many miles on the car i told them 36,000. They said not to worry that i would not need the brakes done till 100k. I traveled 1,000 miles had the oil changed and discovered that my rear inside brake pad was gone. It could not be repaired because of lack of parts so i made the return trip under those circumstances.

Loose steering caused byobviously a design problem and should have a recall to address a permeate remedy. While the factory warranty paid for the first two replacements, andthe extended warranty paid for all but the $50 deductible on the this third replacement this was by all accounts an ongoing problem with the 2005 chevrolet suburbans.

The dash has cracked in two places.one near the air bag and once in front of the driver.i wonder what will happen in an accident.

Finger cut from sharp chrome pealing from inside passenger door handle on 2007 chevy suburban ltz model.both my wife and son have received deep, painful paper type cuts from this problem.dealer will not replace for free because out of warranty.

The plastic instrument dash has cracked in two places. The one crack is located beside the passenger airbag. It appears that it would be possible for pieces of the plastic dash to be propelled around the interior cabin of the vehicle if the airbag would deploy in a crash.

Dash has multiple cracks, not sure the date when it happened, i used today's date, i just bought the vehicle, it looks like they tried to repair it. There is no support under the dash.husband had a 2006 gmc sierra c2500 truck vin # [xxx] and his cracked also, we do not own it anymoreinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The chrome on both the driver and passenger side interior door handles is peeling off and cuts your fingers everytime you try to open the door.

Dash cracking around passenger airbag. Suspect deployment could send shoot plasticat driver and passenger.

The plastic on the dash around the air bag has cracked.i am afraid to have anyone sit in the front passenger seat.if the airbag deploys the dash is going to break apart.

Dash cracked in three places, two around passenger airbag cover, one directly over steering wheel.

I would like to call your attention to an accident that happened to my 17 month old granddaughter. In attempting to steady herself while walking, she accidentally touched the tire on my daughter's chevrolet suburban. Her small hand slipped through the hub cap space and came in contact with the hot brake pad, causing her to suffer 2nd degree burns on the palm of her hand. It is my belief that this must have happened to other young children. Parents with whom my daughter and i have spoken had no idea that brake pads were so accessible.i am concerned that the public is not aware of this danger and should become aware as soon as possible. Thank you.

Chrome peeling off of inside door handles has become hazardous, which cut 2 of my fingers. I'm now afraid to open my door w/o getting cut. Please consider this as a recall item.

Thank you

The dash on my 2007 suburban cracked on the driver's side in front of the instrument bezel area. This same exact crack has appeared on hundreds if not thousands of suburban, tahoe, yukon, yukon xl, and silverado trucks for this vehicle cycle. Also on other similar dash panels an additional crack has appeared by the passenger airbag. Recently gm has redesigned the dash so that it will not crack in these areas, but they have failed to issue any sort of recall to the current owners with defective dashes and fix the dash that could pose a safety risk if the vehicle is involved in an accident.

The dashboard has cracked in 4 or 5 places over a period of time. This was not a result of an accident. It just cracked without any stress on it.

Have replaced all 4 door handles due to plastic breaking

Dash cracked while suburban was sitting still.

The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban 1500. The contact stated that the dashboard exhibited several six inch length cracks on the driver's side and also near the passenger's side air bag housing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The approximately failure mileage was 130,000.

The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban 1500. The contact stated that the dashboard prematurely cracked in the same area twice. The vehicle was taken to the dealer twice where they replaced the dashboard, but the failure recurred. The dealer was notified and indicated that a clip fractured and there was a crack on the dashboard that needed to be replaced a third time. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.

Takata recall info received, but chevy won't fix it.another issue is cracked dashboard in several places.i am concerned with its integrity.

I purchased a 2007 chevrolet suburban approximately 18 months ago. It had approximately 86000 miles on it. At approximately 89000 miles the dash began cracking. It has continued to crack ever since. The first one was on the left front of the passenger side airbag. Since then i have numerous cracks on the drivers side over the instrument panel. This could be a hazard if the air bag is deployed and the dash breaks further and sends projectiles of the dash material airborne in a crash. This seems to be a problem with all of these model vehicles from 2007 to 2011. I believe it should be addressed and paid for by gm. Some of these cracks have happened while moving and one even happened from the interior getting cold inside.

Interior chrome door handles peeling. Peeling chrome extremely sharp. I've had my fingers pricked by the peeling chrome and my wife got a small cut on her finger from it. Very sharp.

The passenger side rear door, interior door handle has peeled.my son lacerated his finger on the peeling chrome plating.this seems to be a common problem among gm owners and an obvious poor manufacture in several models with a definite need to replace all the interior handles.this is a hazard that has been brought to your attention on other models and i am unable to see a resolution.it appears all the investigations have been closed.

Chrome coating on interior door handles peeled and presented a sharp edge that caused several minor cuts to fingers on various dates.

Chrome on door handles razor sharp edges and cut fingers and hands!

2007 chevrolet suburban, inside door handles cut hands and fingers of family members. Gm dealer will not warranty repairs to the handles and wants to charge for the defect.

The chrome on front passenger interior door handle is peeling off, creating a sharp edge that i have cut myself on when opening the door. Other passengers have cut themselves on it as well.

My 5 year old son was hit on the top of his head with our automatic closing cargo door on our 2007 chevrolet suburban when the resistance mechanism failed. Instead of going back up after meeting some resistance the cargo door continued to close on his head resulting in a gash to the top of his head which resulted in 3 staples to the top of his head. I immediately notified gm and it has taken this long to getsome assistance. They offered to pay his medical expenses, which were already covered with our military insurance, and 300 for his pain and suffering. We declined the 300 because gm would not take responsibility even going as afar as to say that i may have caused the damage by pulling him out from under the door. When i asked the claims lady if i should have then allowed the cargo door to keep closing on my son's head she said i don't know i wasn't there. I want to warn other parents because accidents happen and the cargo door should not require that much pressure before the resistance mechanism works---my son should not have had to require 3 staples to the top of his head!

I just got a call today from my mechanic and he told me that the whole rear axle had to be replaced and if i don't replace it i could have an accident .what can i do to get this replace at no cost.is there a recall for this ????

Tire pressure monitoring system was problematic for years.the display would light and message center would indicate all tires were low when none were by check of accurate gauge.this problem has finally been addressed at least temporarily.check engine lights stay on.vehicle has been to shop and dealer on multiple occasions.tests have been run and the codes reset, to no avail.the check engine light is on and vehicle performance seems normal, however, the warning light remains useless for any "real" problem.please consider the low mileage (currently 18,224) when considering problems.

The dashboard of the vehicle is cracking especially in the area of the air bag and along the vehicle cluster .concern if the vehicle is involved in a collision where air bag is deployed and the dashboard creates flying projectiles

Dash pad cracked. Crack starts by upper left corner of passenger side dash airbag pad and goes toward windshield. Seems to be a common problem as stated to me by dealership where i bought the vehicle. After my vehicle was recently totaled, i went to see another suburban, a 2008 which had a cracked dash with identically placed crack. Dealer wanted $750 just for the part. Wondering if the crack will affect airbag deployment.

Our car has 86,500k miles and is garaged.we have two cracks in the dash board.one is on the passenger side by air bag and the other is on the driver side over instrument panel.my concern is if the passenger air bag deploys in an accident it will be compromised by the crack in the dash board leaving the passenger unprotected from the airbag.the latest crack occurred just this past week. My car was at a stop light and i heard the crack occur on the drivers side. Upon looking at the dashboard i noticed the driver side crack.this can't be normal and if it is there is a serious flaw in the design.please advise.

The dash panel has multiple cracks in it... 1 by the instrument panel and a large one by the air bag.... Chrome covered door handles have separated and are very sharp... I have actually cut my fingers on them....the dash panel is the main concern... Tahoes, suburbans, avalanches from 2007 to 2011 all have the same problems... There are tens of thousands of complaints to gm about the problem but gm will not act..the cracked dash produces sharp edges and if the air bag were to be deployed could potentially send sharp shards of plastic into the neck and face of passengers in the front seats..

Cracked dash.the vehicle's dash began to crack in several places including adjacent to the passenger airbag when the vehicle was approximately two years old.at the three year point (mid 2010), just outside of the warranty period, i was able to convince the local dealer to replace the dash at a 50% cost to me.almost exactly three years later (mid 2013) i developed the exact same cracks.upon consultation with the dealer i was told there was no gm program to mitigate the cost of a second replacement.my concern is with regard to the impending passenger side airbag recall.how will the airbag be replaced without removing and replacing the severely cracked dash.the brittle plastic associated with this dash, specifically in the vicinity of the passenger airbag is a safety concern.

My dash has cracked above the steering wheel control area all the way up.i have tried to repair with plastic epoxy and a vinyl repair kit and it still looks horrible.due to the degree of poor performance with this cheap piece and possible fracturing upon airbag inflation it is very dangerous and should be recalled.gm isn't taking responsibility for the manufacturing defect.

Cracking dashboard around the passenger airbag and the instrument cluster.possible lose parts can hurt some body during in accident. Cracks developing constantly all over the dashboard.

Regarding the dash board of my 2007 chevrolet suburban.the dash board has completely fallen apart.i don't know if it is the sun or some other issue such as material, workmanship?

Dashboard is cracked at passenger airbag and over steering wheel.

3 door latches have stopped working and will not allow the door to stay shut. This can obviously be very dangerous if they were to give out when driving and it seems to be a very common problem from what i have heard.

Takata inflators ... Still no repair info. Also, as noted in many other complaints, my passenger side airbag/dash cover has a huge crack all the way across.needs to be fixed.also - we have electrical issue after electrical issue.when will they address these issues?

The dashboard is cracked in several places including over the instrument panel and around the passenger side airbag. If the airbags were to deploy, shards of the dashboard would become instant projectiles into the cabin potentially causing serious injury or death. Cracks occurred over a period of time when the vehicle was not in motion.

Dash contains four cracks. Two cracks that are over the instrument panel cluster and two cracks on each side of the air bag deployment door on dash.

Stepped onto the running board to enter the vehicle and upon doing so the dash cracked in two places on the drivers side. A few weeks after this i noticed that the dash had cracked at an unknown time on the passenger side directly next to the airbag section of the dash. Have tried to contact gm about this problem and cannot get a response.

My dashboard is craking and i m concernd for my family safety

Dash cover. First off the dash is cracking like so many others. The pieces are getting sharp as it is thick plastic. I cut my hand on it just dusting it. The parts that are cracked are right above the instrument panel. The cracks have grown the width of the cover. These cracks occur frequently in motion or not in motion. I don't know if it is the heat and bumps but it seems to be a problem. My concern is if the airbags go off those pieces of the dash could fly and break off like nothing and hurt someone even worse in that type of situation.the photo provided is just two of the four located on the dash.

(1)takata recall (2) dash board cracked at instrument cluster and by passenger airbag. Purchased this vehicle in this condition. Was informed by the dealer that is a common issue for this year/model chevrolet and would have to address the problem with a gm dealer.

I own a 2007 suburban that has no acceleration when merging into traffic or when passing. Potential rear collision on interstate highways. Engine tapping is moderate to severe, sounds like metal to metal impact. Have filed a complaint to gm, and was told they are aware ofthe problems. They offered to pay one month's truck payment as compensation forthe problems. Just before parking when vehicle is in slow roll it will suddenly lunge forward. Vehicle is definitely a lemon.

The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet suburban 1500. While the vehicle was parked outside the contact's place of employment, someone reported that they heard a loud noise as if glass shattered from the contact's vehicle. The contact went outside and noticed that the rear window glass was shattered. After viewing the security cameras, it was discovered that the window exploded on its own and without impact. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000. The vin was unavailable.

Manufacture defect in windshield, when looking through glass everything looks wavy. Very distracting while driving and gives me headaches. Took to service department at dealer, they replacedthe windshield with one worse than the first one ,complained on the spot. Service department contacted glass manufacturer. Glass manufacturer says all the windshields are defective in spots .i have been waiting about six month for a good windshield-cant drive it much ,gives mereally bad headaches, and a feeling of motion sickness.
