The code 95 appeared out of nowhere and will not clear. No there is no cruise control and all the buttons on the steering wheel do not work not even the light this car we bought a year ago have had multiple recalls and problems with including something major in the engine to the point it could not be driven safely.
I was driving down the street at 45 mph. It was at night.as soon as i went through the first green light, i accelerated (pushed on the gas).when i came upon the second light, i took my foot off the accelerator to brake.all of a sudden the accelerator was not working properly.it would not slow down.i tried applying the brakes, but it seemed as if the car was out of control.i could not steer right or anything.i hit to curbs and knocked down to city signs.the air bags did not deploy.the fire department along with ems got me out of the car.the car was totaled.
The contact owned a 2014 chevrolet spark. While driving 55 mph, the driver fell asleep due to fatigue and crashed into a mailbox and ditch. The driver and passenger air bags failed to deploy; however, the driver side curtain air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The driver sustained two fractured vertebrae, a fractured sternum, and multiple bruises and cuts to the head. Medical attention was required. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v298000 (air bags). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,400.
Front and rear passenger and driver side airbags deployed without impact while taking a right turn, traveling approximately 10-15 mph from one side street to another. The impact of the airbag caused the driver to veer to the right striking the curb. Contacted gm and their investigation determined it was not a manufacturing issue. They denied the claim and would not pay for repairs. Currently waiting to hear back from the insurance company.
I was involved in a accident where i hit a concrete wall and another vehicle. The airbags did not deploy but the car did sustain enough damage that the steering wheel and drivers side airbag should have deployed. The car did display a error code 95 for failed airbags. Gm has been contacted. I sustained head injuries.
Side airbags deployed causing me to go into other lane and come to a stop.no collision or damages to side of car to make these deploy.insurance adjuster and chevrolet dealer do not know why these deployed on both sides of my car.
I was involved in a rear end accident, i was doing 65mph the truck that hit me was going approx. 85mph when he hit me. The air bags never deployed. This happened on i-295 north in jacksonville,fl going straight down the road

A deer ran out in front of me on i29 - i was going about 65mph straight on the interstate and not one of my air bags worked- nothing deployed. After the accident a code 95 was displayed on the dash. I was lucky i always wear my seat-belt as i could have died.

Went to store a couple miles from home, came out of store and car would not start. Thinking maybe the battery was at fault i tried jumping the battery and still nothing so turned the ignition off and took keys and got ride home. Then upon returning to store to pick up items purchased the car was running without the keys and the ignition was in the off position. I had the woman come out of the store to see this. And it also freaked me out on how this could happen. Then i called vic koenig in carbondale, illinois where i purchased the car, and at first they said it wasn`t covered under warranty because it had 39,000 and warranty ran out at 36,000 and that they never heard of that where a car just starts up without the ignition turned on. They wanted me to bring it in, i was afraid to even drive it so i called napa down the road and a couple of there mechanics come over to see that it had started with the ignition turned off. So then they gave me a ride home and the other one took the car back to napa garage to disconnect the battery cable and see if that would shut it off, for i did not even want to step foot in the car.
The car will power down while driving, despite having adequate charge. The message "press power button again to shut off" appears even though the power button has not been pressed. Then the car shuts down and coasts to a stop.
From may 2015 to sept. 2015, my vehicle high-revved and died on the highway three times... The same three lights would come on: traction control, check engine, reduced engine power. Due to the timing of incidents, autonation refused to accept the vehicle although it was warrantied. I called gm corporate and explained that this was a danger to the safety of others and jeopardized my life, and they made attempts to remedy the situation at hand.. Autonation called and apologized for the lack of customer service, but they did not schedule an appointment to find the problem. On a day off from work, i took it to the same autonation to have them run diagnostics, and the turned me away. This happened a document three times. I took it to another chevy house, and they also refused the car. Driving it endangered my life as well as other drivers. Fast forward a couple months, i find out the throttle body is bad, and no recall has been put out. On a separate occasion, condensation had begun on the interior of my vehicle. Upon further inspection, my floorboards were sopping wet, and water began to fill the cab of my car. Autonation did find that a hose had been cut and had been leaking fluid throughout the cab. Today, 2-9-16 at appx. 0426, my vehicle began filling the cab with noxious fumes and smoking upon parking from underneath the hood for no obvious reason. No lights or chimes initiated inside the vehicle. This vehicle could have set fire at any moment had i kept driving. This vehicle is very dangerous to myself and those around, and no one at autonation takes it seriously. I hope by advancing my problems with the 2014 chevy spark will steer potential buyers the other way, and i also hope that gm will do the right thing and buy the car back. When a car dies on the most dangerous highway in texas for no reason and starts smoking, there is obviously something wrong.
We bought are 2014 chevrolet spark newand since we have had it these are the problems we have had. Four times we have went to start the carturned key and nothing happens, no warning lights nothing it's like there is no battery in car also key gets hotand 3 times we have lost power, once turning from a traffic light pushed gas pedal would not go over 2 miles an hour let off pedal pressed again bogged down let off pedal again then when pressed it the car shifted hard and took off fast. We took the car to dealer 3 times the service department said nothing wrong fed up called chevrolet corperation took it back out to dealer they said still nothing wrong. Fed up
When my alternator failed it caused an over current through the abs relay causing damage to the wiring harness melting the bracket and breaking one of the clips the other clip broke when the gmc dealer was doing their inspection. I'm working with an extended warranty that doesn't believe the damage was caused by the alternator and not the dealer.
Car will not start when cold. Took to o'reilly's and they checked battery. Readings jumping all over. Have since read that is a common issue with 2013 and 2014 sparks. No warranty anymore. This should have had a recall. Could be an electrical issue from what i have read.
Car accelerates on its own when braking which is highly dangerous in traffic as car jumps forward when it does this. Continuously runs at over 4000rpm. Car stalls when accelerating making pulling out into traffic or coming off an exit ramp quite difficult and will rev on its own while driving. Continuous engine noise as if car is being redlined. Car also has difficulty going in reverse. Emergency brake does not hold properly. Car will roll backward when in drive and on a small incline. Electrical issues with car where stereo will spontaneously change stations and the dash lights will flicker.have made complaints to gm continuously and had in dealership more than 11 times for repair of issue. Car was bought in feb 2015, first taken in to dealership for issue in feb 2015. It is now feb 2016 and gm refusing to address issue. Car falls under lemon law and they are stalling to wait out time frame.
After 38000 miles and 38 months (on a 3year, 36000 mile warranty), the battery and alternator on my 2014 chevy spark were both bad and needed to be replaced.upon searching at 2 different parts stores, the 2nd store advised there was not a part in any warehouse nationwide. This leads me to believe that there is a factory defect causing the alternator to fail, and then the battery.

While my daughter was driving the radio locked and screen went blank all radio functions stopped working. All warning chimes stopped working. I purchased the car for my newly licensed daughter 6 months ago, and this is the second problem i've had with this car and i feel it is unsafe for her to drive. I contacted gm and they will not fix the problem because of my vin # even though i saw a recall on the problem, stating that i have to come out my pocket to fix it. I will never purchase another gm/chevrolet. Car again, they are a piece of crap!
Purchased vehicle in 2014 brand new. The radioscreen said check antenna when on xm (we had a free trial but it wouldn't work) so we took it to dealership for diagnosis, where they said there was a chafed wire behind radio. They repaired but radio still didn't work correctly, and so theyreplaced the entire radio, this was in 2015. Now it's 2019, and sometimes the car won't start, the signal chimes won't make sounds and the radio will not turn on, random lights come on in the dash - including a failure light about the airbags, and a brake light went out at the same time. We had the key chime recall completed, but this issue occurred anyway. We replaced the key fob batteries, the car would still not start randomly.we took it in to the dealer again and they said the issue was most likely due to a loose battery cable - it was repaired. Now a month later, the radio again doesn't work again and the sounds in the car (signals,etc) don't work again, and we expected the car not to start again since those were the signs that occurred before it wouldn't start.we took it back to the dealer, they say the radio doesn't work and needs to be replaced. This is the 2nd time the radio has been replaced in 4 years. Electrical issues have been a problem since the day we bought it. . i strongly believe there is something majorly wrong with the electrical makeup of this vehicle and that the radio not working/ causing other problems, is just an underlying issue being caused by something greater. Please help.
In august 2019, as i was driving on a major highway my vehicle check engine light became illuminated and my brake, gas, steering column, and vehicle loss complete function. This incident almost cost me my life. Thank goodness i was able to exit the highway in time. After weeks and months of failed repair attempts, i contacted gm hoping to gain some resolution. After filing a complaint in december 2019 there was no response until last week. I received a letter in the mail from ,mrs. Neelie o'connor-global executive director customer experience operations, stating that my mechanical issues may indeed be at the fault of gm. They would pay for damages ,only if my car was under 120,000 miles ,and their mechanic confirms the damages.

I found numerous articles and recalls for this very same issue. I am the third owner of this spark. The first owner had a recall service performed on the spark that was related to the radio. Just a week before i purchase the spark the second owner had the radio "repaired" at a chevy dealership. Chevrolet at this point does not recognize that the problem is recall related because the recall service was performed once.
Purchased a used 2014 chevy spark in nashua nh in 2016 i had the vehicle not even 4 months when i was driving down the road and all of sudden the on star,radio,chimes for seat belts all went out brought in to shop charged me 50,00 and they told me that would cost another 100.00 to further diagnose it checked out the recents recalls on this vehicle and it appears that there were recalls on the same situation but my car was not one of the vin number so what can be done about this? i believe my vin should have been coveredthank you

The alternator for my chevrolet, spark 1lt 2014 does not work all the time causing me to be stranded when i try to restart my car.auto zone checked my battery for free and told me that the battery was good and then a car mechanic told me that the alternator for the car needs to be changed. I currently have a battery jump starter that i use when the car doesn't turn on. I'm disappointed that my well maintained car has electrical issues that cause me to be stranded until i jump my car.

I was driving on the highway and the engine light comes on. The car starts to stall. I went and got the codes read. Everything came back that its the transmission. Chevy claims they're not sure if the warranty will cover all the cost. The place i got the car from didn't even provide me with any carfaxs. I called them and they didn't give any solution. I am disappointed.

On 17 sep 2018 while going 60 mph on i-65, the vehicle started beeping, the check engine light started flashing, the doors started locking and unlocking on their own, the fuel gauge went from half a tank to empty and the vehicle started to lose power. Pressing the gas would not make the car go faster; my car slowed to 40 mph and stayed at that speed for two minutes and then lost power completely. I had to cut over to the side of the road to prevent myself from getting into a serious accident (an idle car on an eight lane interstate would not have been a good time), turned the vehicle off and then waited 5 minutes. I turned the vehicle back on, and it ran for an additional five minutes before having the same symptoms.repeat one more time and i was able to make it home safely.the next day, 18 sep 2018, i had it towed to my mechanic who said that based on odb2 scan on the vehicle that the engine computer wasn't talking to any of the other systems and that they couldn't fix this problem; it had to be taken to a dealership.the dealership said they have to run a wire trace to figure out which wire is shorting out the system.

Since the day i have bought this car 2 1/2 years ago it will die, even while driving at 50 mph. Recently it hasn't been starting every time. Chevy says the battery is bad. Had the battery checked at 8 other places, they all said battery was fine. He had tested the battery right after i tried to start it for two hours. When you pull the negative cable off the battery, there is still 2 amps bring drawn off the battery. With nothing on, no dime light, no radio, no air. And i've told them forever that my seatbelt warning signs don't work properly. But they can't seem to reproduce any problems.
Takata recall. My '14 spark has gotten the coolant tank replaced twice. Also my rpms are shooting up and back down once i hit 50mph or faster . Also makes a high pitched noise when this happens . It's causing my car to jerk at faster speeds, also my car jerks at point of acceleration from 0mph when i'm making turns. Also the battery is continually being drained and it's not worn out .

107,000 hwy/city miles. Catastrophic failure of the 2014 chevrolet spark's cvt control module and transmission. Dealership inspection revealed; permanently frozen actuators and control valves which cause the vehicle to stall, with engine running, on mild inclines, on ramps, off ramps, in heavy traffic,and stop lights. Very little time between the onset of mechanical - electrical malfunctions which include bucking, slippage and loss of momentum, before the amber "check engine light" deploys. By that time, it's too late..as stated earlier, loss of momentum on fast-paced interstates and heavy flow traffic lights, placed myself and passengers in unwarranted danger.

Reported several problems with the chevy spark with purchased in aug 2013, no starts, auto shut offs, rpm spikes and "now" oil burning, beginning october 2013 directly to gm company at 855-238-0780, 866-790-5600 and chevy headquarters and several chevy service centers:onstar subscriber services acct# account number: 139-256-583 at 1.888.4.onstar activated august 2013 began sending vehicle diagnostic in sept 2013 with an vehicle problem alert for the transmission/engine systems, i addressed this with several chevy dealers and was told at one point that it was a possible reporting error by onstar since the chevy service center could not locate or duplicate the problem.the issues with the spark further deteriorated into burning oil and leaking oil problems, of course it was taken to the chevy dealers in both enterprise and [xxx], [xxx] in indianapolis indiana and nothing significant was supposedly found although when checking the oil stick we continue to find no oil or low oil levels in the car, we then have to repeatedly put replacement oil in the car. Today, friday august 8, 2014 while driving the vehicle on the highway the car's engine light came on again, the owner [xxx]attempted to steer the car off the highway but was hit from behind, the airbag did not deploy, fortunately no one was killed this time. We are not certain of the injuries but the owner, [xxx] has complained of backache and headache, symptoms of a possible concussion.we hate this car!!! it is a lemon and may eventually kill someone. When accelerating from a stop, making a left turn into cross traffic with plenty of time, the engine will not accelerate! even with the gas completely pressed it stalls for a good four seconds. I would have been involved in a major accident if it traffic did not slow down for my car to finally rev up, sounding like it's red lining just to get with the flow of traffic.
Recall my rpm is going up to 6 and 7 rpm range before it shift into the next gear or level.it is hard to go up hills. Now it is burning more gas now.

The air conditioner is not cooling the car. Both me and my mom purchased a 2014 chevy spark 2 days apart and we both are having trouble. It will not keep the car cool. It runs warm all the time. I have taken it to the dealer twice and i am really not happy with this. It is also about to be summer here in az. I need a good air conditioner not one that will only run cold at night.
Rental car - chevy spark. Went to make a left hand turn and was not able to power vehicle. Slowly started rolling into fast moving traffic (from both directions) and could not accelerate. Not sure if this is a faulty ignition or a power failure. Car was going from a fully stopped position to a left hand turn.very dangerous and would have been in collision had not other cars in traffic come to a stop to avoid a collision. After i took my car to my shop, he found that my fuel injector was the cause of my problem. From may 2015 to sept. 2015, my vehicle high-revved and died on the highway three times... The same three lights would come on: traction control, check engine, reduced engine power. Due to the timing of incidents, autonation refused to accept the vehicle although it was warrantied. I called gm corporate and explained that this was a danger to the safety of others and jeopardized my life, and they made attempts to remedy the situation at hand.. Autonation called and apologized for the lack of customer service, but they did not schedule an appointment to find the problem. On a day off from work, i took it to the same autonation to have them run diagnostics, and the turned me away. This happened a document three times. I took it to another chevy house, and they also refused the car. Driving it endangered my life as well as other drivers. Fast forward a couple months, i find out the throttle body is bad, and no recall has been put out. On a separate occasion, condensation had begun on the interior of my vehicle. Upon further inspection, my floorboards were sopping wet, and water began to fill the cab of my car. Autonation did find that a hose had been cut and had been leaking fluid throughout the cab. Today, 2-9-16 at appx. 0426, my vehicle began filling the cab with noxious fumes and smoking upon parking from underneath the hood for no obvious reason. No lights or chimes initiated inside the vehicle. This vehicle could have set fire at any moment had i kept driving. This vehicle is very dangerous to myself and those around, and no one at autonation takes it seriously. I hope by advancing my problems with the 2014 chevy spark will steer potential buyers the other way, and i also hope that gm will do the right thing and buy the car back. When a car dies on the most dangerous highway in texas for no reason and starts smoking, there is obviously something wrong.

Hello, below is an email detailing the issue i sent to hertz which i rented the car from hello,as a reoccurring hertz customer, i wanted to make hertzaware of a severe safety issue with a chevrolet spark that i recently rented. While on i-95 in connecticut, the car turned off completely and i lost power steering and power brakes. I was able to safely pull over and restart the car. If i as a driver had anything to do with the car turning off, the only logical explanation is that my knee touched the keychain which caused the key in the ignition to turn off. Such a light tap of my right knee while i am driving to potentially be the reason a car turns off is of great concern. I would like to keep renting with hertz but this incident has damaged my respect for hertz rented vehicles. The engine coolant/anti-freeze reservoir leaks.***it only leaks when driving*** i realized this when doing an inspection before a long drive (car was stationary). When i inspected under the hood i could see residue from a leak and smell the coolant. I filled it and the next day it was empty again, after driving 11 hours between 2 days. No light indicators are present or flashing. A few evenings ago some coolant must have leaked onto or next to the engine because there was a small amount of smoke coming from under my hood. Car motor will not shut off when key is not in the ignition and ignition is in the off position. Car is still drive-able, it will switch gears and is able to be driven. Motor continues to run. Had to shut down car by taking out a fuse under the hood. Car is able to restart using key. A week later car motor will turn off, but the inside chime is going off, leaving car parked! i read other reports on the exact same issue.
Car accelerates on its own when braking which is highly dangerous in traffic as car jumps forward when it does this. Continuously runs at over 4000rpm. Car stalls when accelerating making pulling out into traffic or coming off an exit ramp quite difficult and will rev on its own while driving. Continuous engine noise as if car is being redlined. Car also has difficulty going in reverse. Emergency brake does not hold properly. Car will roll backward when in drive and on a small incline. Electrical issues with car where stereo will spontaneously change stations and the dash lights will flicker.have made complaints to gm continuously and had in dealership more than 11 times for repair of issue. Went to store a couple miles from home, came out of store and car would not start. Thinking maybe the battery was at fault i tried jumping the battery and still nothing so turned the ignition off and took keys and got ride home. Then upon returning to store to pick up items purchased the car was running without the keys and the ignition was in the off position. I had the woman come out of the store to see this. And it also freaked me out on how this could happen. Then i called vic koenig in carbondale, illinois where i purchased the car, and at first they said it wasn`t covered under warranty because it had 39,000 and warranty ran out at 36,000 and that they never heard of that where a car just starts up without the ignition turned on. They wanted me to bring it in, i was afraid to even drive it so i called napa down the road and a couple of there mechanics come over to see that it had started with the ignition turned off. So then they gave me a ride home and the other one took the car back to napa garage to disconnect the battery cable and see if that would shut it off, for i did not even want to step foot in the car.
Itest drove a 2014 spark on 3-6-14 at voss chevy dealership, the car that i test drove "check engine" light came on. I did not purchase the car that i test drove...the salesperson said that because it was a brand new car there was probably a minor glitch.i was informed that a new batch of 2014 sparks was coming in, so i ordered a 2014 spark, i purchased the car on 2-14-14, it only had 11 miles on it.i drove my car for about 4 weeks when, on my may home from work, the "check engine" light came on and it began to smoke profusely.thespark had to be towed back to the dealership, i was informed thata whole new motor had to be put in the car. 2014 chevy spark motor lost compression in two cylinders @ 60k miles, whitmore chevrolet in west point, va. Took approx. 5.5 weeks to replace the cylinder head, with no loaner car available to me. Service manager yelled at me for stopping when i would stop by to inquire about the cars status, same when i would call. Neither the calls or visits were even daily, he was horrible to deal with. In the meantime i contacted gm about this & they did essentially nothing other than state that dealers are independantly owned & they gave me 15 months of onstar...i would rather have a car the functioned as designed.fast forward approx. 2 months & the ac stopped working. Tried contacting whimore about the failed ac system, service group either hangs up on me or simply do not call back. Contacted another chevy dealer & was told that i either go back to whitmore or pay to have the ac fixed at their dealership. After buying gm since 1987 i guess i will be looking into other manufacturers very, very soon as i now need 3 new vehicles.

1st and 2nd recall completed but vehicle still does not run right. 3rd 4th and 5th recall has not been schedule by gm and are safety recalls. 1. Bolt on bottom has to be torqued to the right setting or could be lost of steering. 2. Airbag not deploying. 3. Need new hood latch as it could corrode vehicle could openunexpectedly. This vehicle should not be on the street.
While trying to accelerate from stopped position car will hesitate and stall out. Check engine light came on. Took to dealership and had 1400 misfire codes in history. Has been back to dealership 5 more times and cannot duplicate concern. Now while driving down the highway car has lost acceleration and stalled out a total 4 times in 85 miles. This is a huge safety concern for me. I've been lucky so far to avoid being hit but i shouldn't be playing russian roulette when i'm driving a vehicle with less than 30k miles on it. I've had the car since 12/2016 and it's been a complete nightmare. Gm needs to recall all these cars before a class action lawsuit against them is filed. I'm paying for a car that i am scared to death literally, to die!!!

The check engine light starts flashing and the traction light comes on, then the car loses its ability to accelerate properly and shakes all over like it's about to fall apart.this is particularly dangerous when i'm on the highway and the car suddenly forces itself to go slower and won't accelerate beyond 20-30 mph if i'm fully revving the engine.it is an unpredictable on and off issue that the dealership has yet to see and is not related to temperature as the issue has occurred in all 4 seasons.as of last week, the acceleration and shaking issues have started occurring without the check engine or traction lights to warn me it's happening again.
I called a dealership multiple times for a year stating that my transmission seemed to be slipping. They told me it wasn't possibly the transmission. However, i was just driving, stopped at a light, went to accelerate to go through the light, i heard click click and the engine revved, but the car did not move. I popped it in to low, tried again, nothing. Went to neutral, then to reverse, tried again, nothing.
With less than 500 miles on it, vehicle was hesitating intermittently upon acceleration from a stop; occasionally would miss briefly, would not always "shift" unless you took foot off gas; would feel like brake being applied when coasting at low speed; and was getting bad gas mileage.car was not showing any error codes but mechanic found these issues upon test driving it himself.dealership replaced pistons, rods, etc.was told wrong pistons installed at factory.upon test driving after repairs mechanic found transmission problems (leaking) and found a crack in the housing and an o ring not seated properly.replaced housing and again test drove and had transmission noise and found metal shavings in pan) and they then replaced entire transmission.loved the style of this car but am totally disappointed in the quality of this car.

My 2014 vehicle only has 52,000 miles. The coolant is leaking from the middle seam of the reservoir tank as well as the top hose connection. Thankfully i observed coolant on my garage floor to put me on notice of the leak. If i had been parked outdoors, i would not have been aware of the coolant leaking and risked permanent engine damage from lack of coolant. The coolant tank should not fail this soon. This has to be a defectively designed part. I read on a chevy spark owner's forum that several owners of the 2014 spark have experienced this same leaking reservoir tank at the same 50k mileage mark. The chevy dealer is going to charge me $400 to make this repair. Chevy should possess a computer record of how many 2014 sparks have had their coolant tank replaced to place them on notice that the part is defectively designed to fail after only 50,000 miles. Chevy should issue a recall on the coolant tank so that people do not permanently damage their engine by unknowingly driving without coolant because of this defectively designed leaking coolant tank.
June 21st i bought a 2014 chevy spark and only used toget to work & back.then on the 23rd i was sitting in traffic waiting to move.i pushed down on the gas peddle & was jolted forward & back.i thought this was normal since i never had this type of transmission (cvt). Then i noticed that i really had to give it gas to get going up a hill & after stopping at a red light.the next day it happened again so i called the dealer the next day & they said to bring it in.after they took the car for a test ride & ran a diagnostics on it they said that there was something wrong with the transmission.tried to up date the software & they had no luck.then they called gm & told them what they found.came back to tell me that i needed a new transmission.have been waiting for the transmission & in the mean time i found out after calling gm that in may of this year there was a recall for a knocking noise of the engine & acceleration problem.also, checked to see is any other recalls were for my car.found outin south korea the spark was recalleddue to a defective transmission mount, with gearbox mount that may destabilize and cause a drop in transmission power.gave the dealership this information that i found.still waiting to get my car back & not sure i want to keep it.the dealership will not buy back my car & said that they can give me another spark if this one not fixed.to top it off i 'm paying my car insurance for a car i don't have.

I replaced the belt but then other stuff started going wrong. After driving about 100 miles my car studdered real bad and i lost all power as i turned a corner. Then the check engine light came on.i stepped on the gas to the floor and my car would barley move. I managed to get to a gas station where i had to wait for a tow back to lubbock.something about the device that puts oxygen into the gas as it goes into the engine is not workingproperly. I found several complaints about the same experience online. I only have about 54000 miles on my car.my alarm goes off 99% of the time if i lock my car, and my windshield wiper fluid does not dispense.
Transmission fluid leak: p0075 error code.vehicle previously had a fluid leak from a bolt securing transmission housing to engine. Leak visible under vehicle near the muffler pipe. Seal replaced on vehicle; approx mileage 15,000. Came to complete stop and when attempting to accelerate grinding noise/no power. Vehicle exhibited odd behavior in drive/tranmission. Vehicle went into limp mode several times at around 85,000 miles, on making a stop at a stop sign and would not accelerate. Reported to dealership only misfiring codes found. Failure at 101,000 miles. Made a complete stop after driving and vehicle would not accelerate. P0075 code. I found that the transmission is leaking from the same location, near the muffler pipe beneath the engine.

Four times we have went to start the carturned key and nothing happens, no warning lights nothing it's like there is no battery in car also key gets hotand 3 times we have lost power, once turning from a traffic light pushed gas pedal would not go over 2 miles an hour let off pedal pressed again bogged down let off pedal again then when pressed it the car shifted hard and took off fast. A week after i got the car i was stopped at a red light and it just stopped. It has been doing this consistently for the last 6 months now. It doesn't matter if i am at a stop sign or a red light, but it is always after i have always started to drive the car and have come to a stop. The dealer can not find any code and has suggested i use a higher octane because sometimes when i put on the break it will accelerate and they think it is "starving itself". I have tried higher octane gas and it still turns itself off!! sometimes it won't restart right away which scares me because what if the computer turns itself off while i am driving and i have no control!!! i have found other people on the internet with similar problem with this car! there is a you-tube video of a spark owner showing his car turning itself off!! i have a manual so it would be hard for me to video and drive at the same time!! also, the last time i took the car to the dealer they told me there was a recall for the air-conditioning unit and i would have to come back to have that fixed but i can not find this recall anywhere? do you know anything about this recall? the dealer said the unit was turning itself on? it seems scary to me that the computer on this vehicle turns itself off and now is turning on the air-conditioning unit on it's own!! this sounds more like a computer problem than an air conditioner unit problem!! any help would be greatly appreciated! i am very worried about driving this vehicle!
24 hours after purchase of a 2014 chevy spark, the check engine light came on and car is slow to accelerate.the check engine light was not on when arriving at dealership, but the diagnostics showed a knock sensor code.they decided it was a loose gas cap as the vehicle was filled up the night before and they sent me home.the next morning the check engine light came on again.they kept the car for over a week because the knock sensor was on backorder.it was replaced and less than 24 hours later the check engine light was back on.they told me they wanted to replace the engine in a brand new car.i purchased the car 2/2/14.it is now 3/10/14, the car only has 300 miles on it, and has been at the dealer for service 3 times for the same issue. The car has been at the dealer for over 30 days.i am now working with someone from gm and asking them to buy it back from me under the lemon law.

The contact also stated that the air condition would not work properly and failed to emit cold air.in addition, the power steering failed.the failure recurred on multiple occasions.the vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure for the steering could not be replicated, however stated that the evaporative air temperature (heat sensor) and the low pressure switch adaptor kit needed to be installed. In addition, the body control module needed to be reprogram and the a/c compressor needed to be replaced.the vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred.the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The car acts sluggish and act like it is going to stall out when you push on the gas pedal after you slow downor come to a complete stop. It also has tried to stall out while drivingthree times when you press on the gas pedal with other than slight pressure. At low speeds the steering goes a little crazy so that you can't control the car very well. I did send a similar complaint to chevrolet corporation back in approximately march through their website but have not heard back from them. I did let them know this car is dangerous and should not be sold. My son had the accident happen on may 4, 2014 when he had stopped to get gas. He was pulling away from pumps and the car kept going right into curb because it was trying to stall out.i will be submitting same information again to chevrolet corporation through their website.
In august 2019, as i was driving on a major highway my vehicle check engine light became illuminated and my brake, gas, steering column, and vehicle loss complete function. This incident almost cost me my life. Thank goodness i was able to exit the highway in time. After weeks and months of failed repair attempts, i contacted gm hoping to gain some resolution. After filing a complaint in december 2019 there was no response until last week. I received a letter in the mail from ,mrs. Neelie o'connor-global executive director customer experience operations, stating that my mechanical issues may indeed be at the fault of gm. They would pay for damages ,only if my car was under 120,000 miles ,and their mechanic confirms the damages.

Car sputters and hesitates. Feels like transmission or fuel problem. Had transmission replaced once already. From what i'm hearing transmissions in this car have an issue. Seems like it should be replaced by manufacturer not me. This has been happening for months. It was seeming to come and go now it just all the time.
Rental car - chevy spark. Went to make a left hand turn and was not able to power vehicle. Slowly started rolling into fast moving traffic (from both directions) and could not accelerate. Not sure if this is a faulty ignition or a power failure. Car was going from a fully stopped position to a left hand turn.very dangerous and would have been in collision had not other cars in traffic come to a stop to avoid a collision. On a day off from work, i took it to the same autonation to have them run diagnostics, and the turned me away. This happened a document three times. I took it to another chevy house, and they also refused the car. Driving it endangered my life as well as other drivers. Fast forward a couple months, i find out the throttle body is bad, and no recall has been put out. On a separate occasion, condensation had begun on the interior of my vehicle. Upon further inspection, my floorboards were sopping wet, and water began to fill the cab of my car. Autonation did find that a hose had been cut and had been leaking fluid throughout the cab. Today, 2-9-16 at appx. 0426, my vehicle began filling the cab with noxious fumes and smoking upon parking from underneath the hood for no obvious reason. No lights or chimes initiated inside the vehicle. This vehicle could have set fire at any moment had i kept driving. This vehicle is very dangerous to myself and those around, and no one at autonation takes it seriously. I hope by advancing my problems with the 2014 chevy spark will steer potential buyers the other way, and i also hope that gm will do the right thing and buy the car back. When a car dies on the most dangerous highway in texas for no reason and starts smoking, there is obviously something wrong.
Takata recall. My '14 spark has gotten the coolant tank replaced twice. Also my rpms are shooting up and back down once i hit 50mph or faster . Also makes a high pitched noise when this happens . It's causing my car to jerk at faster speeds, also my car jerks at point of acceleration from 0mph when i'm making turns. Also the battery is continually being drained and it's not worn out .
Since the day i have bought this car 2 1/2 years ago it will die, even while driving at 50 mph. Recently it hasn't been starting every time. Chevy says the battery is bad. Had the battery checked at 8 other places, they all said battery was fine. He had tested the battery right after i tried to start it for two hours. When you pull the negative cable off the battery, there is still 2 amps bring drawn off the battery. With nothing on, no dime light, no radio, no air. And i've told them forever that my seatbelt warning signs don't work properly. But they can't seem to reproduce any problems.

Transmission fluid leak: p0075 error code.vehicle previously had a fluid leak from a bolt securing transmission housing to engine. Leak visible under vehicle near the muffler pipe. Seal replaced on vehicle; approx mileage 15,000. Came to complete stop and when attempting to accelerate grinding noise/no power. Vehicle exhibited odd behavior in drive/tranmission. Vehicle went into limp mode several times at around 85,000 miles, on making a stop at a stop sign and would not accelerate. Reported to dealership only misfiring codes found. Failure at 101,000 miles. Made a complete stop after driving and vehicle would not accelerate. P0075 code. I found that the transmission is leaking from the same location, near the muffler pipe beneath the engine.
The transimission slips.the original transmission was replaced in august 2016.the new transmission is now slipping as well.when you start the vehicle and attempt to drive it does not go. The jug that holds my antifreeze developed a hole right where the hose connects to it and antifreeze was dripping onto a belt. My car would make a screeching sound and hesitate while i was driving. In january 2019, i called the dealership for an appointment because the transmission was slipping. No dealership had appointments because there was an airbag recall on another gm vehicle going-on. The first available appointment i could obtain was in april, which ended up turning out to be a few days after my powertrain warranty expired. My stance is that i would have taken my car in the dealership in january, had an appointment been available. Based upon this, my feeling is that gm should honor my powertrain and fix my transmission under the warranty. However, gm was refusing to replace my transmission under the warranty, and i was going through the bar complaint process. On june 16th, i was driving across a bridge when the transmission failed. When i pressed the gas petal, the car would no longer accelerate and a check engine light illuminated. It is a miracle that i was not ran over by the semitruck that was behind me and was able to somehow coast to the shoulder of the road. I almost died! this car is a safety hazard. The technician told me that there is an internal service bulletin on my vehicle as gm knows that this make/model/year has a known high transmission failure rate around 60k miles. This car should be recalled. On july 8th, i paid to have the transmission replaced; however the car continues to have acceleration problems. When trying to drive uphill, the car slows down to a max of 45mph. This is a huge safety issue on the freeway where the standard speed is 65mph. The car acts sluggish and act like it is going to stall out when you push on the gas pedal after you slow downor come to a complete stop. It also has tried to stall out while drivingthree times when you press on the gas pedal with other than slight pressure. 2014 chevy spark with just over 4 k miles with severe acceleration problems from a stop. I took it to the dealer the first time and was told that the computer had to learn my driving style this was with about 2k miles driven. Then on june 11, 2015 i took it back to dealer again with the same compliant this time they did a driving test and scan the cvt was found to be sticking in high gear and would not shift into low gear. A new transmission was ordered and it took about 8 days to arrive. They installed the new cvt and when the technician tried to back my car out for a test drive it would not go into reverse another bad transmission. So another new cvt transmission was ordered and installed so far this one is working, total time for this repair was from june 11, 2015 to july 3, 2015.

Dealership inspection revealed; permanently frozen actuators and control valves which cause the vehicle to stall, with engine running, on mild inclines, on ramps, off ramps, in heavy traffic,and stop lights. Very little time between the onset of mechanical - electrical malfunctions which include bucking, slippage and loss of momentum, before the amber "check engine light" deploys. By that time, it's too late..as stated earlier, loss of momentum on fast-paced interstates and heavy flow traffic lights, placed myself and passengers in unwarranted danger.

Took said vehicle to rosner chevrolet in melbourne, fl.concern was that transmission slips at entering onto busy highways, failing to gain necessary accerlation inmergingwith normal traffic flow.this represent a serious flaw in this vehicle that could lead to a serious crash with fatal loss of life.the technicians as rosner chevrolet tested said vehicle and they concurred as written on invoice cvcs177737 road tested vehicle and verified customer concern.contacted tac case # 8-2745507764 they said to test vehicle while graphing throttle position, output speed and primary and secondary pulley speeds.data indicates no issue.snapshot to gm and they verified concern to be normal,condition caused by low speed torque converterin in high gear/range when light throttle is applied,no repairs attempted.{end}although the technician noticed the fault when road testing vehicle there was no action to be taken as per gm.this is a dangerous situation and i would hope there could be some action by gmto address this issue before a fatality happens,this vehicle transmission did not slip when new but have been getting worse as time go by. Solution is not known at this time from customer point of view.
I have registered complaints regarding this vehicle before. The transmission in this vehicle does not work properly; it is unable to accelerate properly from a low speed or stopped position. Front and rear passenger and driver side airbags deployed without impact while taking a right turn, traveling approximately 10-15 mph from one side street to another. The impact of the airbag caused the driver to veer to the right striking the curb. Contacted gm and their investigation determined it was not a manufacturing issue. They denied the claim and would not pay for repairs. Currently waiting to hear back from the insurance company.

I drove from south san francisco, ca, to san francisco, ca (8 miles). The car was operating normally. As i approached the 6th st. Exit, i applied the brakes to my car. There was no response; the brakes felt 'locked' under my foot, and the brake pedal would not depress to the floor. The car was moving rapidly forward at freeway speed, and i had no way to slow it down. I then saw the display had a warning something to the effect of 'service brakes soon.'i was travelling at approximately 65 miles per hour and very afraid of a collision due to not having any means to stop.the 6th st. Exit had a high ramp, and there was still no response from the brake pedal. Fortunately, the car slowed enough going up the ramp to avoid a collision, and i coasted to the first intersection where i pulled over to assess the situation. The brake pedal would not move at all, and i turned off the car. After about a minute, i turned the car on again, and the brake pedal was working again. There was no warning on the display. I safely pulled out into traffic and continued for about half a mile before parking to meet my husband. Approximately one hour later, i started up the car again, and it appeared to work; there was still no warning signal at all about servicing brakes. I began to make my way back down the street when, two blocks into the drive, the warning signal came on and i was unable to apply the brakes. I was fortunate to be slowly moving through an intersection, and i was able to safely pull over into a parking space at the side of the road. I called my husband, who came in his car to help me. We called for a tow truck and my husband saw to it that the car was taken to serramonte chevrolet in daly city where it was repaired (cost: $3727.91, miles: 34,136). The chevy spark ev does not have a handbrake to manually stop the car, putting the driver at extreme disadvantage.
I was driving on the turnpike near west palm beach and i lost control of the vehicle completely. The brakes was not working and the steering locked on me preventing me to turn the wheel resulting in the vehicle crashing into the grass to a guard rail. Also the air bags in the from did not deploy. Only the side air bags. I injured my head and had to get stitches because of this.

When my alternator failed it caused an over current through the abs relay causing damage to the wiring harness melting the bracket and breaking one of the clips the other clip broke when the gmc dealer was doing their inspection. I'm working with an extended warranty that doesn't believe the damage was caused by the alternator and not the dealer.

Hola my carro chervolet spark 2014 e tenido muchisimo problema cuando manejo casi me a chocado i enbolucrado en un accidente tiene mucho problema con acelerar voy manejando regular avese cuando aselero como que no me quiere acelerar se traba o se trata de ahogar el motor y no hacelera el carro que queda en medio de la calle hasta que se le antoja el carro darme acelerar avese estoy esperando por la luz y el carro cuando laluz se pone verder el carro como se ahoga y no me quiere acelera y eso en muy peligroso ya estoy cansado el carro como que se pone bobo y avece estoy en el freeway velociday 60 mph y trato de siempre que darmey trato de seguir la velocida y como que se boba el carro y cuesta muchisimo que suba la velocida ya lo lleve a dealer me dijiero que no encuentra nada ya estoy cansado tendo dos nio y tengo muchisimo miedo que alguien me pueda pegar por que el carro no me deja acelerar regular se atora el motor y no mueve si me llama le explico mejor por favor ayudemen.

It was at night.as soon as i went through the first green light, i accelerated (pushed on the gas).when i came upon the second light, i took my foot off the accelerator to brake.all of a sudden the accelerator was not working properly.it would not slow down.i tried applying the brakes, but it seemed as if the car was out of control.i could not steer right or anything.i hit to curbs and knocked down to city signs.the air bags did not deploy.the fire department along with ems got me out of the car.the car was totaled.
The car acts sluggish and act like it is going to stall out when you push on the gas pedal after you slow downor come to a complete stop. It also has tried to stall out while drivingthree times when you press on the gas pedal with other than slight pressure. At low speeds the steering goes a little crazy so that you can't control the car very well. I did send a similar complaint to chevrolet corporation back in approximately march through their website but have not heard back from them. I did let them know this car is dangerous and should not be sold. My son had the accident happen on may 4, 2014 when he had stopped to get gas. He was pulling away from pumps and the car kept going right into curb because it was trying to stall out.i will be submitting same information again to chevrolet corporation through their website.

I would like to complain that there is a recall on my vehicle recal number 2014456 (2014 chevy spark ev) secondary hood latch corrosion where the latch can rust and break and hood can open while driving.i have tried to schedule with my dealer in conroe tx several times no one ever calls back. When i call to follow up they dont call back. I have same issue with chevy volt recaul.two recalls on volt car, the first time i took volt dealer did not fix it and never followed up even though they told me they fixed it.gm likes to send all these notification but they never fix the issues on the recall.
The vehicle is stationary as i was trying to check the engine oil and i pulled the hood latch inside the car and the hood never popped or released and i was not able to get the hood open to check on the engine oil

Incomplete weld on strut stabilizer caused thestabilizer to break loose on a city street causing a loss of steering control. When pictures submitted to gm customer service of welds they said it was due to "impact damage" and not a defect so not covered by defect warrenty , although the dealer service manager at windy chevrolet in ellensburg, wa inspected and determined that on of the welds had not adhered to both pieces.
I was driving on the turnpike near west palm beach and i lost control of the vehicle completely. The brakes was not working and the steering locked on me preventing me to turn the wheel resulting in the vehicle crashing into the grass to a guard rail. Also the air bags in the from did not deploy. Only the side air bags. I injured my head and had to get stitches because of this.
There's only 47k miles on the vehicle and the strut mounts are beginning to get worn. After consulting two other auto shops after taking the vehicle to the dealer, the auto shops said it was highly unusual for a newer vehicle to need these parts replaced. As of right now the strut mounts aren't making any noise for the driver to feel as if something is wrong. The chervolet dealership pointed out this defect, and the auto shop mechanics had to be told of this issue for them to see it.
Have a 2014 chevy spark. I do not have a spare tire. I was on the interstate heading home from visiting family out of state and had a flat tire. I thought no big deal i will put the spare on and take care of the flat when i get home. I was looking around and there was no spare tire. All i had was bottle of manufacture supplied fix a flat and an air compressor. No jack no lug wrench and no spare tire. I thought maybe the car had runflat tires. It did not. I went to put fixflat in tire and air up. There was a hole in side wall of tire. I had to pay for a tow truck to tow car to shop. Hook up fee plus mileage. If there was a spare and all, i would only be out the cost of the tire. This is uncalled for by any manufacture.

Car sputters and hesitates. Feels like transmission or fuel problem. Had transmission replaced once already. From what i'm hearing transmissions in this car have an issue. Seems like it should be replaced by manufacturer not me. This has been happening for months. It was seeming to come and go now it just all the time.
Car accelerates on its own when braking which is highly dangerous in traffic as car jumps forward when it does this. Continuously runs at over 4000rpm. Car stalls when accelerating making pulling out into traffic or coming off an exit ramp quite difficult and will rev on its own while driving. Continuous engine noise as if car is being redlined. Car also has difficulty going in reverse. Emergency brake does not hold properly. Car will roll backward when in drive and on a small incline. Electrical issues with car where stereo will spontaneously change stations and the dash lights will flicker.have made complaints to gm continuously and had in dealership more than 11 times for repair of issue. Car was bought in feb 2015, first taken in to dealership for issue in feb 2015. It is now feb 2016 and gm refusing to address issue. Car falls under lemon law and they are stalling to wait out time frame.

Front and rear passenger and driver side airbags deployed without impact while taking a right turn, traveling approximately 10-15 mph from one side street to another. The impact of the airbag caused the driver to veer to the right striking the curb. Contacted gm and their investigation determined it was not a manufacturing issue. They denied the claim and would not pay for repairs. Currently waiting to hear back from the insurance company.
The radio in my car will not work i have change the fuses twice and it still does not work it will not even light up.
Car motor will not shut off when key is not in the ignition and ignition is in the off position. Car is still drive-able, it will switch gears and is able to be driven. Motor continues to run. Had to shut down car by taking out a fuse under the hood. Car is able to restart using key. A week later car motor will turn off, but the inside chime is going off, leaving car parked! i read other reports on the exact same issue.
While driving the radio will turn off and also turn off seatbelt chime and onstar will disable and key chime will not work.
While driving on the turnpike radio went blank then no chimes for the turn signals then the chimes for the seat belts didnt ding then took notice that the cell charger wasnt working either. Just got the car less then ayear ago. Also 2 flat tires within the last 2 months plus now the car bucks off and on while driving.
I was driving on the highway and the engine light comes on. The car starts to stall. I went and got the codes read. Everything came back that its the transmission. Chevy claims they're not sure if the warranty will cover all the cost. The place i got the car from didn't even provide me with any carfaxs. I called them and they didn't give any solution. I am disappointed.
Key fob hinge is faulty, made out of potter's metal i've had now 3 key's in the span of 3 year's break due to them breaking off at the hinge and the engine won't start due to the manufacturer having an anti theft protection. They key's will last for the span of approximately 10,000-15,000 miles then failure will happen shortly following. This effect's car's when trying to start.
I believe there are some issues with the cars wirings. For the past few months in the middle of driving my brake warning signal and traction signal will come on the speedometer and the car will start making a dinging noise. The light never go off and maybe 30 minutes to an hour they start going off again.
My daughter purchased this vehicle used in december 2019. Two weeks after she purchased it, the heating system had to be completely rebuilt. Now less than a week ago the a,/c system stopped blowing cold. She had to have the compressor replaced. Then two days later, the a/c stopped blowing cold again. Thai time it was the pressure switch on the low side. Her mechanic did some research and found that at some point gm issued a "recall" not exactly a recall, but a voluntary fix for a/c issues involving 2013 and 2014 chevy sparks. Apparently if the repair had not been made by 2016, then only applicable warranties would apply. Well, we didn't buy this vehicle until 2019, but the hvac system has been nothing but trouble from the start. Gm knows there was an issue with the hvac systems back in 2014. How can they only repair faulty equipment for 2 years? a quick google search of "chevy spark ac issues" will lead to numerous reports of similar issues. Gm needs to step up and take care of this issue for good!
When accelerating from a stop, making a left turn into cross traffic with plenty of time, the engine will not accelerate! even with the gas completely pressed it stalls for a good four seconds. I would have been involved in a major accident if it traffic did not slow down for my car to finally rev up, sounding like it's red lining just to get with the flow of traffic.
A week after i got the car i was stopped at a red light and it just stopped. It has been doing this consistently for the last 6 months now. It doesn't matter if i am at a stop sign or a red light, but it is always after i have always started to drive the car and have come to a stop. The dealer can not find any code and has suggested i use a higher octane because sometimes when i put on the break it will accelerate and they think it is "starving itself". I have tried higher octane gas and it still turns itself off!! sometimes it won't restart right away which scares me because what if the computer turns itself off while i am driving and i have no control!!! i have found other people on the internet with similar problem with this car! there is a you-tube video of a spark owner showing his car turning itself off!! i have a manual so it would be hard for me to video and drive at the same time!! also, the last time i took the car to the dealer they told me there was a recall for the air-conditioning unit and i would have to come back to have that fixed but i can not find this recall anywhere? do you know anything about this recall? the dealer said the unit was turning itself on? it seems scary to me that the computer on this vehicle turns itself off and now is turning on the air-conditioning unit on it's own!! this sounds more like a computer problem than an air conditioner unit problem!! any help would be greatly appreciated! i am very worried about driving this vehicle!
Car lost power and took longer to accelerate than normal while i was driving it.my car's dashboard showed the check engine light, reduced engine power light and a loss of traction control light.a car diagnostic recommended to change the throttle position sensor which i have done with no success.a dealership diagnostic said there was faulty wiring which would cost $600 to fix.i have not gone through with the repairs as of yet.i have met at least 2 other people that have this problem.

While trying to accelerate from stopped position car will hesitate and stall out. Check engine light came on. Took to dealership and had 1400 misfire codes in history. Has been back to dealership 5 more times and cannot duplicate concern. Now while driving down the highway car has lost acceleration and stalled out a total 4 times in 85 miles. This is a huge safety concern for me. I've been lucky so far to avoid being hit but i shouldn't be playing russian roulette when i'm driving a vehicle with less than 30k miles on it. During regular constant driving at speed 20-50mph acceleration lurges forward and fels like a cruise control is engaging, this is not a feature in this model. This has occurred now more than 3 times. Sending in vehicle fir review.
Takata recall. My '14 spark has gotten the coolant tank replaced twice. Also my rpms are shooting up and back down once i hit 50mph or faster . Also makes a high pitched noise when this happens . It's causing my car to jerk at faster speeds, also my car jerks at point of acceleration from 0mph when i'm making turns. Also the battery is continually being drained and it's not worn out .
Transmission fluid leak: p0075 error code.vehicle previously had a fluid leak from a bolt securing transmission housing to engine. Leak visible under vehicle near the muffler pipe. Seal replaced on vehicle; approx mileage 15,000. Came to complete stop and when attempting to accelerate grinding noise/no power. Vehicle exhibited odd behavior in drive/tranmission. Vehicle went into limp mode several times at around 85,000 miles, on making a stop at a stop sign and would not accelerate. Reported to dealership only misfiring codes found. Failure at 101,000 miles. Made a complete stop after driving and vehicle would not accelerate. P0075 code. I found that the transmission is leaking from the same location, near the muffler pipe beneath the engine.
Since i received the transmission safety recall and took my vehicle in, it seems like they made my vehicle worse. It worked perfectly before the recall and now it seems like the transmission is going out. Also seems like my brakes lock while i'm driving and if i press on the brakes they engage very badly. It makes me jump forward.

When accelerating (between 5-30mph), the vehicle stutters to gain power/speed-it almost feels like there's a delay in the execution when trying to accelerate. The vehicle will then lunge forward, then sulk back as if the engine has temporarily lost power. Traveling at highway speed with heavy mist and active snowfall, the windshield wiper motor overheated and stopped working, creating an emergency situation on the highway where the driver could not see out the windshield.dealer had to replace motor from damage.new motor again overheated during windshield wiper use at highway speeds in heavy dirty mist from vehicles ahead, creating a second emergency situation where driver could not see.dealership notified this owner that this model car has mechanism to protect the motor from overheating during heavy use, which causes the wipers to cease.this is dangerous as the motor should not be designed to suddenly stop working at highway speeds; it should be strong enough to handle the load of these common winter conditions.
