Takata recall total loss non repairable

Passenger air bag off light inoperable. Check 4 wheel drive warning comes on intermittently. Dealer charged $138.00 but could not find any problems. This occurs when driving.

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado. While driving 40 mph, the contact rear ended another vehicle that abruptly pulled in front of the contact. The air bags did not deploy. The contact noticed a chemical odor in the vehicle and a fog-like substance in the cabin after the crash. A police report was filed. The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene. The contact sustained injuries to the neck, shoulder, and arm, which did not require medical attention. A dealer was not made aware of the crash. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 5,000.

Wheel from another vehicle slammed into center from of my vehicle on interstate. Large bang was heard and acrid dust/smoke filled interior cab, but no airbag deployed. I was going about 60 mph and wheel was coming at me at around 50-60mph. This was an entire steel rim and tire from an suv.

My airbag light has been on for 2 years. The dealer wants $100.00 just to look at it. I dont have funds so i have been checking for the recall to be sure. I was sent a notice from tk holdings inc. And have filled out a claim but still dont know if i qualify. It showed on one website that there is a recall so i would rather be safe than sorry not to go the full route and be sure my truck's airbag is safe.

Bought 2017 silverado 1500 ltz new.backup camera will not dim at night, blinding, makes it difficult to back up, unable to see inside or outside.been that way since new. It's a safety factor, right now it would be better off without it at night.salesman at dealership said that's just the way it is.i have three other gm vehicles, all of them have backup cameras that dim with the instrument lighting.i was told there is a service bulletin out there, but the dealer knows nothing about it.

Transmission shifts hard into gear when slowing down and extremely hard when towing 2,000lb empty trailer, currently at dealership to have new torque converter and pump installed.dealership stated no metal shavings in transmission they believe.when accelerating engine rpms increase while vehicle speed decreases.stereo constantly disconnects from wifi when streaming music.wifi will continue to work for other devices.voice commands work 80%ish of the time.

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado. While stationary, all of the instrument panel indicators illuminated without warning. The vehicle was taken to urka auto sales in ludington, michigan where it was diagnosed that rodents had eaten through the wiring harness, a main ground wire, and the front wheel speed sensors. The dealer repaired the vehicle by replacing the front wheel speed sensors, two wiring harnesses, and a main ground wire under the hood. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 19,822.

As i was driving on a city street high speed limit all the sudden all the warning dash lights came on although the engine is running, i didn't understand it tried to slow down andhad to apply a lot of pressure to the brake pedal . I did not understand it. When i stopped the lights went out. I turned off the vehicle with the key and started it again.a couple days later i remotely started my vehicle but when i got in and turn the key on the lights did not go off immediately as they normally do.

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated that the air conditioner blew hot air when turned on. The vehicle was taken to the chevrolet of boise located at (12300 w fairview ave, boise, id 83713), where it was diagnosed that the condenser was cracked. The dealer stated that it was a recurring failure from 2015 and 2016 models. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided a case number. The dealer also stated that the forward drive engagement switch should not be left on auto, to avoid automatic switch from two to four drive. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 81,000.*dt

The ambient temperature sensor doesn't work. It does not read the correct temperature outside. This impacts the a/c, which does not work properly when the sensor is not reading the correct external temperature. The fairfield chevrolet service department refuses to acknowledge the issue, let alone fix or replace the sensor. I use my truck on ranches and logging properties where it is literally impossible for me to drive over 20mph for 5 minutes. And when it is 105 degrees and the a/c thinks it is only 65 outside, the a/c does not engage.the service department keeps telling me that they cannot replicate the problem so it must not be real. This is the equivalent of calling me a liar in order to avoid honoring the warranty.

When driving at night and shifting into reverse the tailgate camera activates on the dash display at full brightness effectively blinding the driver from seeing anything/any person outside the vehicle as he tries to back up. There is no way to disable or dim the touchscreen during reversing.

Interior driver side front driver window button not always working. At times when this happens the door ajar is lit, while the door may be shut, it doesn't latch completely. This happens when the vehicle is in motion or in park. This causes the interior lamps to stay on and drain out the battery.i did have it serviced under warranty. Problem was solved, until today 08/10/2018.

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle did not start when the key was turned in the ignition. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was towed to stadium chevrolet buick gmc cadillac (330-277-4144, located at 292 w state st, salem, oh 44460) where it was diagnosed that the starter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.

This morning i was driving to work. Stabiltrak error message came on my hud. Cluster and dashboard lights flashed off. Stopped. Everything flashed back on and radio presets were all gone. Not sure if this will continue to keep happening or if it is a frozen sensor, since it has been below 32 degrees here.

Stability track warning, abs and brake light warning all appeared on same day after moving from parking spot and turning out. Cruise control not working. Power steering is strained.

Al these lights came on out of no where one cold day. Steering assist, abs, break. Also service trailer brake, service stabilitrak. I went online there are so many people with the exact issue. Recall your mistake and fix your problem. Don't screw the customer.i locked up my brakes because the car in front of me and i almost hit them due to my abs not working i fish tailed sideways. It's a matter of time before someone is hurt. It is a big issue many people have spoke about. I also explained to the guy when i scheduale the recall to be fixed and he said that my lights out a different issue the recall is just a program update for something with the brakes. Then i bring it there 45min later they cant update the truck and complete the recall due to the lights on in the truck!!! i'm just upset i explained everything before appointment and still got screwed. Also after looking there is a lot of people with the exact problem as me.. Weird

Noticed after purchase that there is vibration like a bad tire 35-42 mph.vibration felt in seat, console and steering wheel 58-65 mph. Transmission down shifts hard sometimes feels like being bumped from behind,it also hesitates and jerks after letting off the accelerator and accelerating again between 25-45 mph.when accelerating it surges, jerks and stumbles. Sometimes when accelerating the transmission downshifts and hangs in that gear until you let off the accelerator.under heavy acceleration there is vibration in the power train and the transmission seem noisy. At 25 mph it shutters like the transmission is in to high of a gear under light acceleration. Returned to waldorf chevrolet where i purchased it and was told they balanced 2 tires and reset the road force, scanned transmission no codes transmission ok after shop foreman road tested for 21 miles no other repairs needed.picked it up driving home noticed all the problems were still there and after inspection of my wheels noticed that the wheels were balanced still had the old weights still on the wheels with new weights also.made another appointment this time to have shop foreman (rick) ride with me to show him what it was doing which we did and left my truck again.after 8 days i am told it was ready i was told they did a pico scope test and the driveshaft was being replaced then only tested it was ok. Checked run out on flanges all within specs. Found the right rear tire bad. They put steel wheel from another truck on and road tested with no change. They drove another truck and it rides the same. Even has the shutters on hard acceleration. Said they called gm tac back and they don't see a problem with this.written documents be sent via mail.made another appointment

The engine block heater cord was recalled on my 2017 chevy duramax diesel.i brought my truck to my local dealership on august 21, 2019 for the recall and the cord was simply cut off.at that time there was not a remedy for the recall.i called chevrolet customer assistance today, november 12, 2019, to check on this recall as the temperature in kansas is becoming very cold and i am needing the engine block heater.i spoke with sabrina and her supervisor michael who both informed me the new engine block heater cord has been released to cold weather states, not kansas.the only way for me to get the cord for my truck would be to drive to colorado, the closest state to kansas that the cord has been released to.colorado is over 8 hours from me, not to mention the temperature is currently colder in kansas than colorado.this is just very frustrating, i paid for the engine block heater on my truck so i can use it.i got notice of this recall in may of 2019, now it's november with very cold weather and the issue has not been resolved.

In june of 2017, i bought a new chevrolet silverado. It runs great no problems. In november 2017 i called to make an appointment to have the oil changed. The service department told me that there is a recall on the chuggle drive quality. The service did what was needed to be done. I had to make a 5-hour trip up north when i noticed that my truck wasn't running like it was before the recall was done. I noticed that the transmission was shifting hard. When the cylinder deactivation went to 4 cylinders the engine lugs. Before the recall was done i couldn't tell when the cylinder activation was switching to 4 cylinders back to 8 cylinders it ran very smoothly no lugging of the engine.what concerns me now is when i was driving an went to make a left turn at slow speed the transmission downshifted hard where the back wheels locked up. Went through a drive through after i placed the order proceeded to the window my truck lunged forward from first gear to second gear. I am glad that no one was in front of me. I have taken it to the service department at the dealership several times. Was told nothing was wrong no codes came up. Even called gm got nowhere with them. The chuggle drive is a reprogramming of the transmission control module. Gm trying to fix one problem created another problem. I pull a 5000-pound camper with this truck with the issues i am having now with the transmission shifting hard and engine lugging i am afraid it might cause me to have an accident. My truck ran perfectly before the chuggle drive quality recall was done. The recall has to be the problem. It's not a good fix.

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado hybrid. While driving 35 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated, the vehicle shook, and the engine seized. The vehicle was serviced at coughlin automotive (255 lafayette st, london, oh 43140, 740-852-1122) where it was diagnosed that the hybrid engine failed. The vehicle was repaired, but the engine continued to seize. The failure mileage was approximately 71,090.

Engine hesitation, or misfiring. Jerking, or transmission shuttering when engine is at low rpm and on incline. (i.e. When traveling about 45mph and start up a hill, the rpm's are about 1300, and the transmission doesn't gear down, so it starts shuttering until you give it more acceleration than usual.) after dealing with this issue for nearly 8 months and 15k miles, i believe this safety issue should be recalled.dealer originally acknowledge the problem but was unsure of the cause. After 5 repair attempts the dealer say they can't duplicate and the vehicle performs as designed.

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado. The contact stated that the engine leaked anti-freeze and the rpms on the instrument panel were out of order. There was also an abnormal odor of anti-freeze in the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to mid state chevrolet buick (26 days dr i 79 exit 67, sutton, wv 26601, (866) 596-3984) and a new water pump was installed along with new injectors; however, the odor of anti-freeze returned days later. The engine also continued to leak anti-freeze. The manufacturer was was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 9,600.

With approximately 7800 miles on it,my vehicle was in motion and i was crossing a highway when the engine started to stutter and lost power. I was almost hit by an oncoming semi while crossing the road. I narrowly missed getting hit, the semi driver slammed on his brakes and honked at me as if i had done something wrong. I promptly pulled off to the side of the road, and noticed a check engine light. I brought it to my local shop where they had diagnosed it as a faulty lifter. This is a prevalent issue on many chevrolet/gmc engines as there are technical service bulletins released on this. I have attached an older (2016) tech service bulletin, but there is an updated one with the following part number: 15-06-01-002f. I would like gm to step up and issue a recall on this as this is most definitely a safety concern.

While utilizing the high beam function of the projection lighting shake or rattle when traveling over bumps on the road causing a flickering affect of the lights. I have had the entire headlight assembly replaced and the defect is still present. I have driven two 2017 and one 2018 silverado pickups and the defect was also present. This defectis very distracting during nighttime driving and poses a safety risk during normal vehicle operations.

Backup camera too bright for backiup at night while still needing to view side mirrors.it would be great to come up with a sliding "on screen" brightness control for immediate control over the backup camera on screen brightness.way too bright for safety / still needing to view side mirrors.

While driving the vehicle during nighttime hours the dashlights and navigation screen will turn to daylight mode which then makes the truck headlights turn off (when in auto mod) and the navigation screen is too bright and distracts you when driving. The dash lights and navigation screen will randomly switch between daytime and night time mode when driving.

Upon startup.. Engine idle was rough. Check engine light came on. Code p050d was found. Took it to a mechanic and the injectors are bad

All fuel injectors in "bank 1" became faulty and need replacing immediately with little to no warning of issues.check engine light came on after multiple injectors became faulty.check engine light came on while traveling on a straight road after 2 minutes of highway travel going 70 mph. *lnconsumer stated i'd like to add the following information to my report.after looking further on the nhtsa website, i came across information in the 'manufacturer communications' section of the website pertaining to 2017 chevrolet silverado 1500's. The nhtsa id number is 10163854, and manufacturer communication number is n182198000. In this letter it explains issues with bank 1 fuel injectors, and what i experienced with my pickup. Under the 'conditions' section of this letter, page 1, my vehicle meets all the conditions aside from living in wyoming and not one of the 13 states listed. My pickup is a 2017 chevrolet silverado with a 5.3l engine, the malfunction indicator lamp illuminated, i took my vehicle to garvin motors in powell, wy, and they said a diagnostic trouble code returned with fuel to air ratio issue in bank 1. Upon further diagnostics it was reviled the fuel injectors need replacing in bank 1, just as stated in this letter from gm.i have been in contact with two gm dealers in the area, and i have been quoted two prices to replace parts listed on this document from gm. I have also reached out to gm, and they said they will research this letter more and get back with me. I am now two weeks without a vehicle while the dealership is demanding i make a decision to have repairs done, how i will be able to pay for repairs upon completion, and gm customer support will not take my calls with telling me they will be called back. I have spoken to gm three times about this with each time stating they need to look into the matter further. Denny menholt dealership located in cody, wy, currently has my pickup with no repairs started at this time.

Vehicle hesitation and surges in acceleration. This condition is a safety issue as it hesitates pulling into traffic, surges in acceleration have caused loss of tire traction on ice covered roadways nearly resulting in a collision. Dealers have acknowledged an issue but advise they are still waiting on a fix from gm.

My 2017 siverado with less than 50,000 miles is at the dealership, due to a defective fuel injector on the #7 cylinder. I am being told it is not under warranty, and that i will have to bare the cost of the repair. I do not feel that on a two year old vehicle, that the fuel injector should fail, nor should i bare the cost of replacement. I am not asking for a resolution, i just want other to be aware of the defect.

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado. While the vehicle was parked on a sloped driveway without the emergency brake engaged, it rolled out of the driveway. The contact found the vehicle in the middle of the street still locked and engaged in park. The contact parked the vehicle back in the driveway with the parking brake engaged. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact read online that this was a common failure with 4x4 vehicles as the transmission transfer cause would inadvertently shift to neutral when parked without the emergency brake engaged. The failure mileage was 31,000. Updated 10/25/17*ljupdated 10/26/2017

1st to 2nd gear shifts are hesitant and rough, sometimes dangerous causing truck to jump forward. Usually in parking lots. If stopped on a downhill ; i take foot off brake then the truck will roll like all cars do, and then when i step on the accelerator, the truck engine will rev up as if in neutral then slam into gear causing me to nearly rear end the cars in front on multiple occasions

Transmission is faulty, has been to the dealer where i purchased several times, they flushed the trans 2 or 3 times then finally rebuilt the transmission with around 60,000 miles. Now i'm at 70,000 miles and having transmission problems again. It surges between gears, sometimes feels like i've been rear ended and sometimes seems to skip a gear and be in neutral for a few seconds before clucking into gear.

2017 1500 silverado, jerks, surges, during acceleration. Now and then i get a loud thud in the rear like i got rear-ended. When coming to a stop from 2nd to 1st.

A 2017 chevy silverado with a 5.3l at 80000 miles the water pump went bad i had a 2006 same truck and it was 200000+ .miles before i had to deal with this issue. I don't know if i'm the only one that had the water pump issue so soon or if this is a common problem with this truck that needs to be looked into, also excessive noises from the transmition when up or down shifting at low speeds and is like if struggled to down shift when you need it like when you need to pass a car in front of you most times you have to give it excessive throtle and only then it downshifts in a violent manner, again do not know if this is something that is only happening to me or if there is someone else out there with the same truck having similar issues, thanks.

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado. While driving at very low speeds, the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration and lurched forward on several occasions, nearly striking a pedestrian. The vehicle was taken to mountain view chevrolet (2109 e. Main street, mountain view, ar), but the cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,000.

Very hard shift going from 1st to 2nd gear and from 2nd gear to 1st gear. The shift was so hard that the tires made a chirping noise and hardly any throttle was being used.

When at highway speeds (anywhere between 40-75) there is a very noticeable shaking when engine is under light load (just keeping speed). I have taken in to chevy dealership and they changed the transmission fluid and that worked for a couple thousand miles. Not the "chevy shake" is back at full force. Upon calling chevy, they claim to know that their trucks do this, but say there is not a fix to solve the issue. They claim they have no clue where it's coming from, but should not be a safety hazard. My question is, if you do not know what it is, how can they say it's not a safety hazard. I am so afraid that my truck is going to break down and it's not even two years old. I have read the thousands of complaints online with people having the exact same issue, since the 2014 model. They have had enough time to figure this out and should be held accountable.

Truck down and upshifts hard. When slowing down for a car in front of me, when i get back on the gas, the truck has no power like it can't figure out what gear to be in. Makes a loud clunking noise with light acceleration from 1st to 2nd gear. There is major hesitation when trying to down shift no matter what gear i'm in. Problem needs to be fixed before someone gets injured. Been to chevy 3 times for the same problem and all they tell me is the transmission will learn how you drive. They also told me there is no new update for the transmission module so i'm screwed.

I've noticed since the first month of owner ship back in 2018, that something was wrong with my transmission. I own a 2017 chevy silverado with the 8 speed transmission. Not only had it been discouraging, it's disturbing, and possibly even unsafe. From 1st to 2nd gear there is a hard shift in the transmission. And the same problem is from 2nd to 1st gear. The vehicle makes a loud clunk and it jerks simultaneously. The fact i spent $50,000 on this truck brand new and have got nowhere with the problem is outrageous. I always believe it is a safety concern, because the vehicle will move it radically. When i brought it to my dealership they said it was 'left in 4 wheel drive' ridiculous lies. And if that was the case why did they 'update the transmission computer.' regardless, all of these problems fromgm have been swept under the rug. The problem has never stopped. I've gotten replies from service representatives at the dealership saying 'they all do that' or 'it's fine' so tired of getting nowhere. Gm should be replacing every single 8 speed transmission. I am worried that my transmission will fail at any time. New vehicles should not drive like this.

Possible piston malfunction

Transmission is constantly jerking and hard shifting. It also lags when trying to accelerate. Tried to get it looked at under warranty and was told "welcome to the future" by the dealership. They wouldn't even drive or look at it. Feels like i've been ripped off, why even offer warranties?

Transmission has stopped working properly.

Driving from connecticut to south carolina my truck developed a bad vibration between 45mph to 70mph. The dealer says that the transmission needs to be flushed. This vehicle has 34k for miles. They claim that no damage is being done to the transmission. This i believe is a safety issue and should be recalled. The vehicle is still at the dealership and my family and i are stranded while they claim that gm needs reading before they can flush the transmission fluid.

The 8-speed automatic transmission exhibits numerous issues. 1) when slowing down to under 10 mph, as if you were yielding to traffic and then pressing the throttle to accelerate the vehicle, two issues can occur. First, the vehicle's transmission can hesitate between gears, providing no power to the wheels. Second, when vehicle does shift into a gear, the vehicle can lurch forward unexpectedly as if you were hit from behind. There is sometimes an audible "clank" when this issue occurs. This issue can prevent a driver from successfully entering traffic due to loss of instant power to the wheels.2) during low-speed acceleration, the vehicle can hesitate between the first three gears, providing no power to the wheels. It has a similar feel to a transmission that was slipping. This can cause a driver to over-correct the deficiency in power to the wheels by applying excessive throttle and cause an accident.3) when proceeding slowly in stop and go traffic, the vehicle can shift up or down suddenly, causing the vehicle to lurch forward unexpectedly. There is sometimes an audible "clank" when this issue occurs. This can cause the vehicle to strike the rear of another vehicle, in tight traffic, if the driver isn't prepared to apply the brake when the event occurs.4) when driving normally, the transmission may hesitate to downshift when the accelerator is applied as would be necessary when trying to pass a vehicle. This does not appear to be gear dependent. The loss of instant power can prevent the driver from successfully overtaking another vehicle in the event they need to conduct a passing maneuver.

At low speeds under braking when downshifting from gear 2 to 1, the shift is not smooth. There is a significantly loud clunk that you can feel and hear, and passenger safety is compromised due to a sudden lurch forward.

The transmission on this truck has not been right from the beginning. When starting in the morning it will do one of three things: surges and transmission skips, hesitate and then race or jump ahead, or chunk and thunk like it really doesn't want to go to work and shifts hard when it does. I keep asking when gm will take care of this problem and i keep getting the run around. I have brought it in 3x, have had diagnostics run, transmission flushed and of course it has not helped. I am now bringing it back to chevy dealer and now they say i have to do the next step according to gm which is put in a new torque converter. I bought a beautiful truck that runs like crap and i am very frustrated.

The steering wheel vibrates at around 65 mph.it feels like you are rolling over rumble strips.the dealership balanced the tires, but the vibration continues.researching the issue indicates it may be a problem with the torque converter.

Transmission shudder at speed.hard shifts at slow speed.appears to be well documented across this site and other forums.it appears the oil used in the transmissions was defective (per chevy) . Tsb - 16-na-175 and tsb 18-na-355.hopefully adding to the long list of complaints helps get chevy to issue a "recall" or something similar to resolve the issue with the flush procedures or similar fixes.

Hard downshifting when going down hills at slow speed. Jerking and clunking noise, and rpm goes up and sounds like gears are grinding. I have taken it to the dealership and they tell me nothing is wrong. It happens every time i am going down a hill with the breaks applied and going at a slow speed. The truck jerked so bad that the seat belt locked.

8 speed transmission clunks when shifting into 2 gear and at times feels like you got rear ended. When it down shifts into the lower gears it's also clunks and is not smooth. This is happening when going at slow speeds and is worse after a cold start . The vehicle shifts fine at hwy speeds. I have already brought it to the dealership twice and problem is still there. Talking to other people with gm 8 speed transmission and they are having the same issue. 8 speed transmission needs recall. Possibly torque converter.

Recently i have been noticing my silverado with less then 20,000 miles has had really low oil pressure. Around 15-20 psi at idleand the transmisson slams into gear,

Transmission started slipping at 72000 miles, replacement or rebuild.

My 2017 silverado is experiencing a very hard brake pedal at slow speeds. I took it into the dealership in october 2019 for the recall pertaining to this issue where they reprogram the braking unit. I had taken it in for that recall just as a preventative measure but now 4 months later i have a very hard brake pedal at slow speeds. I had not had a braking issue until now. When it acts up the pedal is so hard it makes it difficult to stop the truck. It seems to have a hard brake pedal when i'm going slow as in bumper to bumper traffic or parking the vehicle in a parking lot while applying the brakes off and on while doing so.

2017 chev. Silverado 1500 ltz .. 21,240k miles .. I pulled into my church parking lot. And at low speed, i pulled forward stopped and started backing in to the space, i then pulled forward to straighten out and when i went to stop this time the pedal was hard. I was barley rolling and had both feet pushing on the pedal and stopped just in time to not hit a parked car. Then i backed into the space and again a hard pedal with virtually no brakes.manufacturer recall number n192268490nhtsa recall number 19v645

Brakes become stiff and inoperable at low speeds after 2-3 pumps

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado. While the contact was driving at an unknown speed, a motorcycle pulled out in front of his vehicle. The contact applied the brakes and the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard, failing to stop the vehicle in time. The contact crashed into the motorcycle. The other driver was injured and transported by ambulance to the hospital. The contact was not injured. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed and impounded. An investigation was conducted by the state police and the other driver's lawyers, which will conclude on 10/29/19. The contact did not yet know the extent of the damage to his vehicle. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The contact had just purchased the used vehicle three months ago in june of 2019. The contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 19v645000 (service brakes, hydraulic) two weeks after the crash. The failure mileage was 45,000.

Recalled at dealership for brake software adjustment.after recall brake peddal periodiaclly in hot weather compresses co.pletly to floor and makes loud squeeking sound. Truck is hard to stop when this happens. Vehicle ws in slow moving approach to parking lot.

This morning at low speed stop and go traffic and again when low speed parking the black pedal became hard to push and car would not stop properly. Happened both directions while parking.will take to the dealer this afternoon. Seems to brake fine at higher speeds and slowing from higher speeds.scary

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado. The contact stated that while traveling at 70 mph, the brakes failed to operate. The contact was able to stop the vehicle with his emergency brake and pulled the vehicle off to the side of the road. The contact took the vehicle to bob stall chevrolet (7601 alvarado rd, la mesa, ca 91942) to have the vehicle serviced under nhtsa campaign number: 19v645000 (service brakes, hydraulic);however, the dealer did not have the parts to service the vehicle. The vehicle remained in their possession for 6 weeks. The contact requested a loaner vehicle which was denied. The manufacturer had been notified of matter and have offered no assistance. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.

My 2017 chevy 2500hd silverado shakes hard when the brakes are applied.

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado. While driving on the highway at 50 mph, the contact had to make a sudden stop in traffic and the brakes did not work. As a result, the contact crashed into the preceding vehicle. There were no injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a nearby collision center and the other vehicle was able to be driven away. The cause of the failure was not determined. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. Brakes squeaked and tight and not functioning right

While coming to a stop in turn lane, brake assist light came on. Intermittent issue. After couple days of experiencing, i take truck in to find out about recall. They perform reprogramming. Doesn't fix issue. Tell me i have to pay diagnostic fee. Thy find vacuum pump needs replacing. They covered cost under "special coverage" because they know it's faulty (but not covered already under recall?). They say it's fixed. I pick the truck up, brake assist light comes on driving out the parking lot. Take it back next day. They tell me "pin" in the connector is broken causing "ground fault." they charge me $500+ to run new wire in wire harness. Same connector that would have to be touched while replacing vacuum pump. I pay to have pin fixed. 3 weeks later, brake assist light comes back on with same exact symptoms. This time, they tell me ecbm need to be replaced. Not just reprogrammed. Somehow, the prior times, the error code wasn't stored. A) errors aren't being stored b) they're covering their warranty cost by charging for other adjacent parts c) brake assist issue going on for nearly 8 weeks now unresolved.they need to expand their recall to include adjacent "connectors" which the dealer admits hardly ever fail. Also should include vacuum pump not just as special coverage. Also, recall should expand to replace ecbm because apparently they aren't storing fault codes when they occur. I read this same thing across many forum posts online. All the same issues. Hard braking, or soft mechanical brake feel. I've now spent 1100 dollars on a problem that falls squarely within the description of the recall. They tell me that "these parts" aren't covered under the recall. I say, expand the recall.recall states they don't have to include this in sec filings. I think they are under representing their true costs. My gm case #9-5696419690

I was at a red light holding the brake pedal, suddenly it became really hard to press and the braking was limited.tried pumping the brake pedal a few times but problem persisted.light turned green finally and cautiously i gave it a little gas and stepped on brake pedal to see if i was going to have to resort to a plan b.seemed to work once i got moving but definitely not normal

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado. The contact received a recall letter for nhtsa campaign number: 19v645000 (service brakes, hydraulic). While driving 45 mph, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to brake immediately. As a result, the contact rear ended another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. There were no injuries on the scene; however, the contact mentioned that the other driver complained of back pains afterwards. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for the body repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

Stability track warning, abs and brake light warning all appeared on same day after moving from parking spot and turning out. Cruise control not working. Power steering is strained.

Had recall performed to address hard breaking at slow speeds.now the truck is harder to stop at slow speeds and gm will not fix the problem. They know it's the vacuum pump and booster and expect me to pay for it.

Manufacturer recall numbern192268490nhtsa recall number19v645on august 14, 2014, i was driving the 2017 chevy silverado 4x4 work truck on a rural state route in holmes county, ohio.i had pulled off on the side of the roadto pick up my traffic counting equipment.once i was finished, i pulled into a driveway to turn around.i began to back out of the drive when the brake pedal went rock hard, i lost all pedal and had no brakes.i hit the guardrail that was directly behind me when i couldn't stop.no damage to the guardrail, but plenty of damage to my truck.obviously, i didn't think this was right so the very next day i took the truck to progressive chevrolet.after techs had a chance to look over the vehicle, they said the vacuum pump was defective and it was replaced at no cost to me.that's all well and good, but had the vacuum pump not failed, i would not have hit the guardrail.

At low engine rpm the brake force becomes extremely excessive.while backing down a long boat ramp last week this occurred and my wife could not press hard enough to stop the vehicle resulting in a collision to avoid the vehicle going into the water. I contacted chevrolet and was told there was no recall on this vehicle.

Driving slow at drive thru lost power brakes

I was in an accident on thursday, august 22 where i slammed into the back of another vehicle on the road.i had at least 40 feet to stop and i literally stood on teh brakes and truck barely slowed down and before colliding with the other vehicle.i received a letter from gm a few months ago saying the brake assist pump may be faulty and that i could get it replaced even though if it were to fail the truck would still brake within "standard".i didnt think anything of it since it wasn't described as an emergency and i thought i would have ti taken care of the next time i took the truck in for service.my wife had commented on my brakes feeling spongy.after the wreck i was so disturbed by how poorly the truck responded to forcibly depressing the brakes pedal that i started researching and i found where nhtsa was investigating this very issue in the 2014-16 silverados and i feel strongly that my issue should be included in this investigation.the truck should have stopped and i think a recall should be issued.the brakes do no operate within "standard" when the brake assist pump stops working.

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, an abnormal clunking sound was heard coming from the vehicle. The contact also stated that the oil level was always low. There was no warning. The vehicle was taken to the midway chevrolet located at (2323 w bell rd, phoenix, az 85023) where the technician repaired the vehicle under nhtsa campaign number: 19v645000 (service brakes, hydraulic), the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and told the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.

Safety recall calibration to vapor brake system done. After recall completed brakes when pumped more than 1 timethe brake pedal recedes to lowest level before stopping and other instances brake pedal only compresses down slightly with increased effort to stop. A load squeaking noise is associated with brake pedal going down far to floorboard. Before recalibration of vapor system per recall notice this was not as frequent a problem. Chevrolet dealership is not acknowledging orreproducing this absent problem. They refuse to assist further as per cevrolet customer support they will not repair unless they drive and find problem. They diagnosed it as no problem the vehicle is in motion coming to a hopeful stop when problem occurs

Trailer brake control module light illuminated in the dash.this may cause the vehicle to be inoperable unexpectedly. This part may be associated with a reprogramming issue that was on another recall.customer is burdened with repair costs and the module is in high demand as part of a 'national recall'. I have been waiting 6 weeks for the back ordered part.i was told it was delayed as result of a labor strike.

Power brake failure pedal is difficult to push takes longer to stop vehicle brake pedal seems higher have to break with 2 feet

The vehicle in motion, at low speeds (under 10 mph), the brakes fail to slow or stop the vehicle until the brake pedal is fully depressed which unexpectedly requires more effort than braking under normal conditions. Even with the pedal fully depressed, it still does not stop the vehicle within the expected stopping range.

I was pulling into wal-mart in white settlement, went to brake to slow down and it felt like the pressure was completely gone causing me to brake harder to stop.

This complaint deals with the brake recall coming from gm. I did take the truck to have the brake system reprogrammed. I had no issues until after the reprogramming of the system. While in parking lot going less than 5 mph. I pulled into a parking spot placed the truck into reverse to straighten out and during the process of pulling back into the parking space straight. When i went to depress the pedal it was very stiff, it actually seemed as if the brake pedal was pushing back at my foot and the truck did not stop when it was expected to. Luckily, there was no car in the space in front of me allowing for the truck to come to a stop with no accidents or incidents. This at occurred approximately 73,500 miles. I did notify the dealership about this and they are replacing the vacuum brake pump free of charge. However, if circumstances were different this issue may have resulted in an accident.

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v645000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The vehicle was taken to uftring chevrolet (1860 washington rd, washington, il 61571) and repaired under the recall campaign. The contact stated that while driving at 27 mph, the brake pedal was depressed however, the vehicle independently accelerated with the abs warning light illuminated. The contact regained control of the vehicle and resumed normal driving. The same dealer was contacted and an appointment was scheduled to have the vehicle diagnosed which was still pending. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 21,000.

Going from 40 to 5mph breaks feel like is locking for couple of second and back to normal, any speed before stops truck has a littlehesitation before breaking.

Weird

Vehicle was in for a recall 1 week prior to recalibrate a possible error in the vacuum assist pump to brake system.this week, stopped at a stop sign on a highway, posted speed 45 and the brake disengaged and vehicle lurched forward. Called dealer, service tech says known issue, gm has issued an extended warranty to this model to repair/replace the part known to be faulty. Tech said gm should have mailed a letter saying that if, and only if the brakes failed or became hard to press, bring vehicle in.if there had been a pedestrian or vehicle close, i would have hit them.bringing vehicle in after the fact would be too late. My vehicle qualified for the free repair so it is being repaired now.

I bought my 2017 chevrolet silverado on october 2017. Not even one month after purchased i had to bring back the vehicle due to loud clunking noises and jerking. I had to bring the truck in at least 3-4 times a year due to the same problem.

The steering wheel vibrates at around 65 mph.it feels like you are rolling over rumble strips.the dealership balanced the tires, but the vibration continues.researching the issue indicates it may be a problem with the torque converter.

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the vehicle veered to the left independently. The contact stated that the failure occurred on numerous occasions and that the vehicle veered left into another lane. Mack bower chevrolet of slidell, louisiana was made aware of the failure and replaced the tires with brand new ones, but the failure recurred. Mack bower chevrolet of slidell, louisiana stated that the failure might have been due to an faulty electrical steering component within the vehicle. The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado. The contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the steering wheel when turning it left or right. The vehicle was taken to weber chevrolet creve coeur (12015 olive blvd, creve coeur, mo 63141, (314) 567-3300) where it was diagnosed that the steering rack and steering box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.

Just bought a new 2017 black edition. Reg cab short bed. 5.3. Shakes from new over 73+ mph. Took it to dealer at 648 miles on 01/19/2018. Purchased new 12/28/2017. They rebalanced all 4 wheels. Still shakes. They put a new driveshaft in and said it was fixed. I picked it up today. Nope. It's worse. Now it begins shake no at 60 and at 74-75 has a pretty dramatic shake.this happens while driving on the interstate. Now i go back again monday to let them have another go at it.this is a brand new truck.

I purchased a new (175 miles) 2017 chevrolet silverado ls 4x4 from a dealership on 2/10/2017.i noticed the ride was a bit bumpy on the 80 mile ride home from the dealership, but thought nothing of it.the next time i drove it was 2 weeks later (i was on business travel in between and let the truck sit in my garage), and i drove it around town on 2/25/2017.in addition to a minor rough idle, it was very bumpy.it would shake at virtually all speeds.after my 5 minute drive from the grocery store, i literally felt dizzy and ill.the next morning on 2/26/2018, i drove it to work (25 miles), and experienced the same feelings of motion sickness.i am a certified auto technician with nearly 20 years experience, and have worked on all components of cars and trucks (engine repair / overhaul, transmission, suspension, brakes, electrical, heating / ac, etc.).i've worked on trucks spanning a wide range of years with various issues and mileages (low mileage to +250,000 miles).i have never felt a more uncomfortable ride in a truck in my years of test driving vehicles (before and after repair) than i have with this new 2017 silverado.i attempted to contact landers mclarty chevrolet in huntsville, al, and was told that this safety concern could not be addressed at their dealership until the truck had at least 500 miles .i informed them of my concerns about driving it until then as i have under 400 miles on it, and they told me to drive 80 miles to the dealership where i bought it to have it looked at.unbelievable!after much research, this "motion sickness" issue is a known issue by general motors, and does not have a proven documented fix in place to this day.

I bought my 2017 chevrolet silverado on october 2017. Not even one month after purchased i had to bring back the vehicle due to loud clunking noises and jerking. I had to bring the truck in at least 3-4 times a year due to the same problem.

Driving on the interstate seems to be only above 70mph or more the truck vibrates very bad in the seats, floor, armrest.. 70mph and less i feel nothing and rides smooth.. At 80mph it literally feels like your gonna lose control.. Very unsafe in my opinion

This vehicle, like many others of this same design, has had a vibration at highway speeds since the vehicle was purchase on 9-14-2017.it has been addressed by the dealer four times with the tires being the presumed issue. The vibration has continued even after different tires installed and recently the vibration caused the vehicle to begin to drift toward the edge of the roadway while travelling at 70 mph in a 70 mph speed zone in a curve that was not posted with a reduced suggested speed. The truck has currently been at the general motors dealer in delaware ohio for eight days where they have verified the issue, have not been able to locate a cause and have notified general motors for guidance.while researching this issue i have found that it appears to be a long term issue for this manufacturer that is not being addressed.being a retired state trooper who has driven many many miles in his career, i feel this situation could cause a serious safety issue that could potentially cause a loss of control and contribute to injuries or worse to the vehicle occupants.personnel at the dealership have confirmed to me that they have heard of this situation and that some trucks are absolutely perfect while others develop this continuing problem.this vibration begins at approximately 68 mph and continues to at least 76 mph and is felt through the seat, accelerator and steering wheel.i do have some of the "repair" documents but they are incomplete at this time.

Vehicle radio display is too bright. Using the dimmer does still leaves the radio the brightest display inside the passenger compartment blinding the driver at night. The only option is to turn the display off which takes 5 separate inputs to the display control. Once the display is turned off any other input to the radio or heating/ac controls turns the display back on and requires another display input to turn the display off again.

Popping noise coming from rear of truck. Truck has slack in rear axcel causing popping noise

When driving at night and shifting into reverse the tailgate camera activates on the dash display at full brightness effectively blinding the driver from seeing anything/any person outside the vehicle as he tries to back up. There is no way to disable or dim the touchscreen during reversing.

I am concerned customers are not receiving their recall notices after being told customers receive their vehicles recall notices via email. Upper management at asbury automotive group gray daniels chevrolet orders the overwriting of incoming electronically submitted internet leads (merging lot solds with electronically submitted internet non-solds overwriting everything keeps the non-solds email addresses), to embezzle ebe sfe money for corporate bonus's from general motors; asbury automotive group gray daniels toyota deletes customers email address and inputs fake or created email addresses to avoid bad surveys to win presidents award.

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet silverado. While driving various speeds, the vehicle started vibrating.

Front wheels simply just peel apart in chips.rear wheels appear to be fine, so this is an issue with turning or friction on the front wheels.the tires chip away through out the entire surface of the thread, leaving voids and gashes on the surface.we drive on paved roads, so there really shouldn't be an issue with excessive wear such as driving on rough roads.i did show this to our local dealer, they claim the vehicle needs an alignment, but keep in mind the vehicle has under 15k miles from the dealer.already, we can see these tires not even coming close to the warranty thread wear limit. Per dealer, no recalls on our vin.
