Dt: contact s had an automobile accidentthree months ago.while driving at 45 mph a dog ran across contact's vehicle and it hit a tree. Most of the damage was done right in the middle of the car. The upon impact, driver's side air bag did not deploy. Didnot think the passenger's side has an air bag because of the year of the car. He was the only one in the car at the time. The contact sustainedan injury. He cut his tongue. He has not talked to a dealer or the manufacturer.
I had a wreck in my 1995 chevrolet silverado. It totaled my truck. The air bag did not deploy. I called chevrolet and they came out to investigate and never did anything about it.

Battery started leaking acid in front near engine. Also, found out that acid was leaking on the driveway. Had taking battery to be replaced, this battery was the original invehicle.
I read recently of battery leaking on 95-97 gm suv's and trucks. I have also experienced this on my 95 full size pickup truck. The battery leaked acid into the engine compartment all over the electrical connections and brake lines. It is now corroding and gm wont do anything about it. They fixed the first battery at 22k miles. At 34k miles, it happened againg, but my truck was out of the 36 month warranty and they told me they would not warrant the problem the second time. The factory installed and the 2nd delco replacement batteries both leaked acid at the positive post. The battery housing was cracked on both batteries. I also contacted delco and the would not take responsiblity for the problem. So now i have a battery i purchased from an auto parts store. It doesnt leak, but i am afraid on the future corrosion damage especially to the brake lines.i also have a friend which had the exact same problem with a 95 chevy s10 style blazer.

Consumer (who is a mechanic) performed oil change on his vehicle and used a pennzoil oil filter, while driving the consumer heard a noise and the vehicle shut down, consumer saw smoke and looked under the vehicle and noticed that the oil filter was missing/fell off, the engine suffered damage due to the oil filter falling off.

While traveling , the consumer noticed smoke coming out of the exhaust. The dealer was notified and a technician stated the engine heads were cracked. The dealer was contacted and got a mechanic who stated this year truck was always having these problems with the engine. The consumer was concerned because they did not have the funds to repair the vehicle.it cost approximately $4300.00 for repairs.
Engine failure while driving.i have made complaints to chevrolet customer assistance regarding the engine failure on our 3/4 ton diesel truck and until the truck is in engine failure the mechanic cannot determine the cause.mean while i was tolduntil the computer can determine the cause, nothing can be done.

While driving can smell fumes, smelled like the sewer. Consumer had to goto the hospital because of health problems from this smell.

This truck is 5 years old and it has a long history of problems. Including 3 injector pumps, replace main seal & intake gasket, replace pmd pump motor drive, 2 lift pumps etc.

Defective fuel injection system causes vehicle to stall.

In ur z71 offroads chevrolet truck with the 6.7 engine{400 detroit diesel with turbo} the inner fuel pump goes out frequently i have replaced it already once and the dang thing is going out again and i don't have the money to replace it again it cost me $1,367.00 the last time. I love my truck and i think it would be a smart move to check out why the inner fuel pumps keep going out. Please check this out and let me know something. After we had the truck for 2 years, i started hearing a clunking noise from the rear, when i accelerated, and when i slowed.after a few months, if i was traveling up a grade, the truck would hesitate, then make the clunking noise and lunge forward.i took it to one chevy dealer, who told me it was up to specs, then to another chevy dealer, who informed me of tsb #564401a, which is my exact problem, and provided me w/ a copy of the tsb.although it says that the performance of the truck is not hindered, it's wrong.the clunk is becoming more frequent and louder.the truck won't go up hills without hesitating and lunging forward.the tsb says that dealers are discouraged from trying to fix the "driveline clunk"which is ridiculous.i've written gm two times, and copied the dealer from which i bought the truck, and no one has contacted me.i'm concerned, because the website "alldata" indicates that tsb #564401a (driveline clunk) was the subject of a recall.is this true?the tsb says that the clunking sound is the result of "built-up freeplay".what's that mean?what does built-up freeplay result in after years of operation?the truck goes down the road making a clunking sound, through no fault of my own, yet gm refuses to even attempt to fix it.

I have had four (4) transmissions fail in 77,000 miles.they all have failed due to the cooling system becoming clogged, causing the transmission to overheat.the original transmission failed at 35,000 miles. Three others have failed since that time.the first three failed while traveling at normal highway speeds and not towing anything.the most recent failure ocurred while pulling a small travel trailer on flat interstate highway in southern arizona.chevrolet continues to put in new transmissions and clear the cooling system.however, the transmissions continue to burn up.chevrolet has told me the transmission failures are not related and has refused to provide me with a final lasting fix to the problem.

While towing a fifth wheel, uphill, the transmission would shift into neutral & then stall out. Had coasted to a stop. The engine would rev up to 400-500rpms. Taken to dealer & informed by mechanic that the "o" rings & seals had fallen into oil pan. Had those parts replaced. The transmission was not repaired.

Whenever it rains &windshield wipers are suppose to be in use, they would fail to work properly. Sometimes stopping in midwipe. Would come on or off by themselves. This causes poor visibility to the driver. It is an intermittent problem.also, seat bolts holding the brace through the base, broke. It was not connected. Kept moving freely. Will be taking vehicle to dealer.

The drivers side bucket seat broke at one of the mount points under the seat. This is a bucket type seat. The seat got very wobbly aftermount broke. I do not feel that this is normal wear andtear . I think this is a manufactuing defect. A mechanic at another garage told me that he had seen several seats break in the same manner.

My research from 3 dealers show that they modify this part to prevent failure, and that the failure rate is 96 times greater than other models. I have dealer part# and units sold from the small local dealers. I feel that research will prove that in larger demographic areas that this part needs to be recalled for poor design.

Dealer stated this particular vehicle was not included in gm recall for seart failure.
Front seat has separated fromtrack and anchors. Dealer has inspectedvehicle.the seat flops around as the result of separating from tracand anchors.

The power seat frame split it appears to be 16 guage metal with spot welds. When the frame to the seat ripped it allowed the seat to rock in all position.when i contacted the dealer and had the seat repaired at a $407. Dollar cost , he stated he had previously had repaired two seats a week .i contacted chevrolet customer service and they said the problen existerd with too many miles. I reported the problem 1 year after it occurred with aproximately 30,000 more miles

Steering wheel would shimmy when brakes are applied. Dealer/manufacturer are not notified at this time.
Intermittently when brakes are applied on wet and slippery surfacesfront wheels lock up, resulting in extended stopping distance.
As it turns out my other gmc car (olds alero) abs is also inoperative at 40k miles.gmc may have a bigger problem.

While driving atabout 40 mph vehicle was involved in an accident.the airbags did not deploy, the brakes and the steering wheel locked up , causing the vehicle to spin out of control.

While driving at low speed and without warning spare tire unlatched and was released.the steel cable holding the spare tire had rusted causing the spare tire to fall out from under the truck, the spare tire blocks visual inspection of the cable.
I purchased two sets of goodyear wrangler tires because the first set had flat spots on them after 25,000 miles. Goodyear destroyed the fist set w/o my permission after they were sent in by heuring chevrolet & cadillac at 1856 us highway 30 valparaiso, in 46385 for inspection. Goodyear never replied to me either by telephone or by e-mails that i made and/or the service manager at heuring chevrolet made. Having no choice or tires i then purchased a second set from brown tire at 6755 melton rd in portage, in 46368 and they had flat spots on them too after 22,000 miles. All eight tires i had purchase from goodyear had flat spots on them after driving with them on my truck. Tread seperated, then blew ou after traveling for 4 hours, mild day 80 deg. Just rebalanced and rotated tires less than 500 mils prior. No warning, no noticable tire wear or underinflation. Damage to truck was extensive, $1100 fender, tire, etc. Spoke w/ firestone, they didnt give any aid, just send the tire to nashville, with clain form. I waited for 4 weeks then they sent check w/ simple explanation of damage covered. Since then i've no luck speaking w/ them concerning replacement tires or reasonable reparations on remaining 6 tires. Remaining tires are showing sidewall cracks and bulges. Onwers, including my son, his '96 truck does the samething. At place of employement friends with a '94 & 96 models have had the same expirence. Windshield wipers stopped working because of the motor or the gears have been stripped out. This vehicle is equipped with the same windshield wiper system that has been recalled in other models. I think mine should be fixed at no charge.

I know that the s10 was recalled for the wipers problem and looked it up and called the dealership and they told me that the silverado's were not recalled. Then i called the 800 number for chevy and they told me that they did not feel that it was important enough to recall. My main concern is that it is the same exact problem as the s10's and it has the same wiper motor. So why will they not fix this problem too.

Whenever it rains &windshield wipers are suppose to be in use, they would fail to work properly. Sometimes stopping in midwipe. Would come on or off by themselves. This causes poor visibility to the driver. It is an intermittent problem.also, seat bolts holding the brace through the base, broke. It was not connected. Kept moving freely. Will be taking vehicle to dealer.

I contacted gm about the failure of the windshieldwipers and how they sometimes just quit while i am driving and they told me that my vin number hadn't been recalled yet and when it did they would contact me. When i didn't get a responce from them i went to my dealer and they told me that they knew about the problem and their wasn't any thing they could do until they got my vin number in that recall but i think this is a big safety issue cause we all know how it rains in oklahoma.

Windshield wipers don't work half the time.sometimes they work fine, sometimes they don't even start (just get a grinding sound from the wiper motor), and sometimes they work at full speed when set to slowest speed.c series trucks have been recalled for the exact same problem, but when chevy customer support was contacted, they said it didn't apply to the k series (4 wheel drive) and that i was out of luck.c series was recalled for same problem in september of 1998.the original malfunctioning part was replaced on this truck in february of 1997 with the same malfunctioning part.in my opinion, since the recall of the cseries wasn't until 9/98, then the part that was replaced was the exact same malfunctioning part.what i want to know is why were only the cseries trucks recalled if it was a problem common to all of the chevy trucks?

The 16 inch spare tire wheel fell out from underneath the truck while driving. After taking truck to replace spare the spare tire hoist cable had broke. The cross brackets were rusted and beyond repair. The end oftruck frame itself is rusted away. I see many issues coming because of excessive rust.
