Dash has severely cracked. If air bag was to deploy, the hard plastic of the cracked dash could very likely injure occupants within the vehicle.while driving down smooth roadway, we started hearing cracking noises and found the dash cracking.

Purchased new 2008 chevrolet silverado 3500.vehicle was involved in head on collision resulting in the vehicle being totaled by insurance company.the air bag did not deploy and onstar which is standard in the vehicle did not respond.we filed a formal complaint with general motors regarding the air bag and onstar failure.general motors product allegation department ordered an event data recording of the crash with the documented cdr file information "event recovered" stating "none" therefore inconclusive..our safety concern was ignored with the investigation by general motors being 'closed" via letter dated august 26, 2009.no satisfactory reason was given as to why the airbag failed during a crash that resulted in a total loss vehicle.we own a trucking company with several of the exact same type of vehicles ownedand several personal general motors vehicles and will pursue the safety issue of the airbagand onstar failure to the fullest extent.

Started vehicle, drove 100 yards, check charging system popped up on display, smoke immediately started pouring in vents as it burst into flames under the hood. Got kids out and called fire department. Vehicle burned from the motor to the box while waiting for fire department.

The dash cluster intermittently loses electrical power. Freezing the all gauges where they are at the time. The engine light is the only light that seems to work. After returning the airbag warning light would will remain lit until the ignition switch is cycled off then on again. While under warranty it was only twice as a momentary condition and would return normal before i could get to a dealership.now at 140,000 miles it can last several days and very frequently.

While driving the service trailer brake system appear on the dic and there is the loss of all trailer brakes function, which deters the vehicles stopping ability. This has happened on several occasions in the last few months, while driving on the interstate, rural highways and city streets. After the vehicle is stopped and shut off the system must reset and resumes normal operation.noticed when going to chevrolet forums on the internet that this is a reoccurring problem on this vehicle, found that general motors has issued a recall bulletin #14514b dated january 2015 addressing this issue, but when at the dealership they indicate that it is vin specific and will not repair.contacted general motors customer service by phone and was told the same and that my vehicle by it's vin was not in the recall list. I am reporting this to you as i am concerned that this will lead to fatal or serious injury on the roadways.

My 2008 3500 duramax diesel truck went into limp mode while on the interstate 15 next to the concrete k-rail.imagine heavy traffic, a fully loaded semi behind you, and then slamming on the breaks.this is what happened.the semi slammed on his breaks, trailer crossed two lanes, other vehicles skidded off the freeway.i was almost killed, as was others.turns out a rodent had chewed a sensor wire and the wires crossed detecting a condition with the engine.over 20 vehicles were involved in this near fatal crash.when i asked the dealership why it did this, they explained "it is designed to reduce speed to about 15 miles per hour to same engine components, and that this is in most vehicles today".i personally don't care about engine components, but further research found that his is being driven by the insurance companies that ultimately pay for warranty repairs.this is a major safety risk, and will kill people. *ln

I was driving down the interstate and check engine light came on, digital dash stated "power reduced" + "exhaust filter requires cleaning", and speed dropped to no more than 45mph. ==after a few minutes, operation was back to normal. == this issue has continued and seems to be getting worse whether pulling a trailer or not; flat or hills makes no difference.== took the chevy dealer in terre haute, in (spent hundreds of dollars) and local dealer in clinton twp., mi and they could not correct this dangerous performance issue. == this problem should be a recall as i've it will cost me approx. $3000 to correct this "exhaust filter" problem / issue (which is really caused by the federal congress mandating through legislation about nothing they know about)...

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 3500. The contact stated that the vehicle shuddered upon starting. The failure also occurred while driving various speeds. The contact drove to team chevrolet buick gmc cadillac (404 jake alexander blvd s, salisbury, nc 28147, 704-212-2019) where it was diagnosed that the engine cylinder was faulty. The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 3500.the contact smelled a strong odor of carbon monoxide emitting from the cab of the vehicle.as a consequence, two employees developed severe headaches from the toxicity.the dealer cannot remedy the failure.a technician stated that the exhaust from the utility body was entering into the cab of the vehicle, which caused the failure.the failure mileage was 500 and current mileage was 2,600.

Purchased vehicle and immediately noticed a burning odor within the cab at times. This odor/fumes would burn my eyes, leave me coughing, give me headaches, and make me feel dizzy and sleepy. The problem continues and comes and goes. I have taken to the gm dealer 6 times. On 2 occasions the vehicle was brought in while the problem was there and the mechanic and service writer noted the fumes within the ca, the dealer has performed many test and repaired what they thought was the problem twice. This problem cant be repeated it but does happen quit often. The dealer and gm are not wanting to work on the vehicle because the problem is too hard to repeat. I feel this problem is a serious safety concern. I feel i could potentially pass out and at the least loose visibility because of the burning sensation in my eyes when the problem occurs.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 3500.the contact stated that after refueling the vehicle, it runs roughly.she took the vehicle to the dealer and they replaced the fuel filter and the tail shaft seal on the transmission because it was leaking.the following day, she noticed that the vehicle would only get 6.8 mpg.the failure mileage was 113,873 and current mileage was 115,232.

We have had a problem with squealing brakes since about not even a week of owning it.we called it in and took it in to koons chevrolet of white marsh in which they took it for less then 2 mile test drive and didn't even remove the tires (we could tell because its a dually and not 1 finger print on the dirty hubcap).they cleared ticket out and claimed no noise.we took it home still having problems with the squealing and we told them so and expressed our disgust that they didn't even check the wheels.took it in for repair again and took for about 1 mile test drive and said they didn't hear anything, this time we took off work to watch and make sure they removed the tires.once removed we looked at rotors and all which appeared blue as if they overheated (owner of vehicle works for meineke, brake specialist!!)this time after wasting our whole day they said they would turn the rotors (truck not even 2 months old, to ignorant to replace) however that don't matter because after wasting the whole day they decide to tell us they don't have the tools to fix it???this is where we bought it and they cant service it and told us they already helped us more then they should have and this was straight from christian the service manager!

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 3500. While driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle drifted from side to side and failed to drive in a straight line. Defective spindle rods caused premature and excessive tire wear. All four tires are worn bald on the outer edge of each tire. I have always rotated the tires faithfully every 6,000 miles. Purchased the 2008 chev. Impala new. I understand that gm has replaced the defective spindle rods on law enforcement vehs; but gm refuses to fix the problem on public vehs. Under warranty. I am asking the nhtsa for help.thank you.
