"takata recall"- i received my letter regarding the passenger side airbag recall dated july 2015.i contacted corporate headquarters and they were no help and kept telling me the vehicle was "safe" to drive even though the letter says discharge of the airbag could cause "injury or death to occupants."on 2/15/17 i took the vehicle in to blade chevrolet and asked them to fix the recall.they just documented that the part is not available.it is going on two years now - this is unreasonable.i can't use the truck for intended use - extended camping trips - or even sell it for top dollar with a safety recall that is not being fixed.

Takata recall; received this recall notice july 2015 and it has been over a year and no fix in sight. I would really like to know what america is coming to. I am starting to believe we are becoming a third world country with gm getting away this type of safety recall and now there should be another recall on the dash now cracking in several places and looking online there are many other's cracking in the same place and falling apart. Would really like to get some satisfaction from a company that we the taxpayers were forced to bailout......

There is a safety defect that could cause serious injury or death to pedestrians.i have purchased a new2007 chevrolet 3500hd, ltz pickup truck.this truck was purchased with the factory installed ultrasonic backup sensor system. My system works just like it is described in the owner's manual, but i believe that the design is dangerously unsafe. It relies on visual only, instead of auditory (or a combination of auditory and visual) warnings.users expect to have an auditory warning and thus will likely hit something or someone before discovering their misunderstanding. Briefly, in normal operation, the system will emit a single beep when it first detects any obstacle while backing up in reverse.when the obstacle is less than 12 inches from the rear bumper, it emits a burst of beeps.this is, of course, so close that it only serves as a panic stop indicator.in between those two audible signals, no auditory alerts are provided.instead the driver is instructed to look over their shoulder out the rear window and observe a set of lights on one side.as one backs ever closer to an obstacle, first one amber light comes on, then a second amber light comes on indicating that the driver is still closer to the object and finally a red light comes on signifying that you are very close.this system design in inherently dangerous because the driver must look at the panel while backing up to get the benefit of the closing range indication.as anyone knows who drives a pickup truck, especially aor 1 ton model, you use your side mirrors to backup.this is because the tailgate is so high that you can not see anything but the horizon from the rear window.this subtle but vital flaw means that the driver can backup using their side mirrors but cannot benefit from the ultrasonic system until it is too late or can use the ultrasonic system but cannot see to backup.i have more to add but have run out of allowable space (2000 chr)..[xxx] redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the

On december 17th, i brought my vehicle in for a key/ignition recall.they installed a key insert and key rings on both the keys.on monday, december 22nd, my daughter inserted the key into the ignition and it automatically locked on her and she could not turn the key nor could she take the key out. I called betten chevrolet thinking that this had to be related to the recall that was done. The person who answered the phone at betten chevrolet stated there was no way that this was related to the recall and that she must have a dead battery and that we should try jumping it. We attempted to jump start it with no avail.i called betten back and they said they would send a tow truck but wouldn'tbe able to get to my car until the next day.i called the next afternoon and they told me that my battery was corroded and fried and that had also fried my computer module.is it coincidental that my battery checked out good on the inspection but that in 5 days the battery is corroded?i am sure that if the battery was corroded on the initial inspection that would have been brought to my attention and suggested to be replaced at that time. I told him it had to be related to something they did during the recall maintenance.i was told that this was a separate incident and that this was coincidence. I called a mechanic and he said that any key that is altered will send an alert to the car that the key is altered and that this could be someone trying to break into the vehicle and that would cause the key to lock up.therefore, betten altering the key for the recall could have potentially caused this lock up.this lock up could have caused the computer module and the battery to fry.

We purchased a 2007 chevrolet 1 ton new in august of 2007.on january 23, 2008 my employee was delivering traffic control.the engine was running as he was doing his paper work.he noticed smoke from under the engine compartment.he opened the hood and observed flames and smoke.he used the fire extinguisher, that is part of our on board safety equipment, and proceeded to knock down the fire.we had it towed to watson chevrolet, where it was purchased, and there it remains to this day.the wiring harness has been ordered more than once and more than once the manufacturer has sent the wrong one.i am reporting this after reading about the fires in the full size suv's.my understanding is that the engine and drive train are similar in these vehicles and in my 1 ton truck.

The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet 3500. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle would slow down to about 30 mph without warning. The contact stated that it felt as if the brakes were applied. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 30,000. Updated 02/05/16*lj

Traveling at 60 mph while towing a 35' fifth wheel the engine started to shudder a bit. When we pulled over and put the engine into neutral the engine stopped running. We tried to start the truck but it would not turn over but there was juice to the battery to run the lights and windows. After being towed to a local garage, as we were out of state, then to another in our town we were informed it is a bad crankshaft and a new engine is needed. The engine has 55 thousand miles on it with no modifications. After many searches on the internet i have found many cases where this has occurred. I have contacted chevy and their response is it is out of the warranty period, five years even though it is well under the 100,000 mile cap. This needs to be addressed as it could have caused a major accident had we not been in the right lane and been able to pull over before losing complete power on a major highway.

The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet silverado 3500. The contact stated while driving 70 mphthe vehicle stalled.the contact stated the failure occurred at least four times since he owned it and feared the vehicle could stall while towing and cause a crash.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and they reprogrammed the computer. The contact stated the repair only remedies the issue temporarily.the contact was concerned since the vehicle was unsafe to drive.the failure mileage was 70,000.

The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet silverado 3500 duramax diesel truck.while driving 65 mph, the vehicle lost power and would not accelerate above first gear.the failure occurred on two separate occasions.the computer has been reset a total of three times.recall number 08142 (engine control module) was referenced.the contact is preparing to take another trip and is concerned that the engine will lose power again.the failure mileage was 500.

Our 2007 chevrolet 3500 4 x 4 with a 6.0 gas engine has failure in the exhaust manifold bolts and is causing noise and emission issues in and outside the cabin and is affecting horse power. Our truck has now 13,000 miles on it! thirteen thousand. It is well cared for and little used, there is no excuse that we face a thousand dollar or more bill to repair a unit that is a long way from being a used unit. We know of many now, that have this issue, our friend said he would not pay the dealer to do it for his truck, there is no service bulletin and no recall, but it was affecting everything, and you could not gain access to the broken bolts unless you tore out the top end of the motor, so he removed the motor and rebuilt these parts himself, it cost him he said $700.00 to do it himself. He is still mad about it. We are writing you in hopes that you may investigate and help, there are emission violations in many states due to this, and there can be a fire, it can affect the sensors and will trigger codes causing engine light to remain on. This problem affects nearly 7 or 8 years of gm trucks, 4.8, 5.7 and the 6.0 size engines. At first it was not too bad, but it has gotten worse in the past few thousand miles. The mileage of seven thousand is my approximation of when i first heard it, i thought it was exhaust, but i thought a protective plate over the muffler or something, no way did i think the bolts of the manifold were breaking. Please help us out on this.

Exhaust manifold bolts on the 6.0l break off at the head causing exhaust gas to leak into passenger compartment and potential for a fire. We have 10 trucks around this year and most or all have had all exhaust studs replaced. My local dealer is aware of this the service manager told me it happens to all 6.0l engines.

2007.5 chevy 3500 diesel pickup:when the exhaust re-gen cycle is interrupted, exhaust fumes enter the passenger compartment.gm has stated the system is operating as designed they will do nothing further.

2007 chevrolet k3500 duramax power problem:on two occasions i have had a near total loss of power problem with my 2007 k3500 duramax.both occurrences were identical.there was a loss of power that severely limited acceleration and top speed. The details of the conditions are as follows:?rpm will not go above 2200rpm?max speed 49 mph (truck unloaded - it takes about 1 - 1 1/2 miles to get some speed back following event)?all gauges indicate normal operating ranges?engine temp, transmission temp, oil pressure normal?the only way to increase speed is to come up to 2200 rpm, let off the accelerator to cause transmission to shift and then repeat the process?service engine light came on?low engine power readout onhistory:first occurrence:?5/9/2008, odometer 7,779 miles, desert sun of roswell nm chevrolet 505 625-1000, invoice ctcs148596?installed new calibration update for p0402second occurrence:?12/29/2009, odometer 24,339 miles, independence chevrolet of bloomsburg pa 570 784-2720, invoice cvcs300288?advised by factory to update pcm calibrations?note, on 10/26/2009 truck was inspected for updates at my request and my cost.the system was scanned, hooked to gm net and no updates were found.conclusions:there seems to be an as built problem with the turbo charger, computer controls and sensors for this truck.i highly suspect that gm is aware of the problem and the repair needed although no recall has been issued to date.this problem may be deemed to expensive to repair under warranty by gm.my suspicion is based on the fact that gm knows that if they reload the pcm calibration data the system will somehow reset itself and work again for a while. Danger:a near total loss of power on the road is serious.speed goes to 20-30 mph quickly.this is essentially a no fuel event.if the truck is loaded or pulling a trailer the event becomes more dramatic and unsafe.please help!

The manufacturer was contacted and stated that that they were unwilling to repair the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.

Problem with transmission cooler lines for the allison transmission. 123,000km's on my 3500 and the transmission lines have been replaced 3 times. 2 times were on warranty and the 3rd i had to pay for myself. I have extended warranty but is not covered, bunch of bs. Cost me 850 dollars to fix. Should be a recall on them, even the dealer ship says they have lots of problem with the lines. When ever it turns cold they start to leak and have to be changed.

The driver's seat belt would not latch.

While driving at about 35 mph, i had to stop for a garbage truck doing a trash pickup.when i applied the brakes on my pickup, the brakes totally failed and i nearly drove another car into the back of the garbage truck.that averted crash would certainly have killed the car's driver.i avoided a crash by a rapid turn into the oncoming lane just as a car coming toward me cleared the opposing lane.my truck has been maintained professionally and the brake failure was a great shock to me.my truck is a 2007 chevy silverado 3500 dually.

Brake line failure from rust on a vehicle with less than 82,000 miles on it.all the lines must be replaced.failed in moderate speed in major traffic jam.second failure on same vehicle.after first failure all line were inspected and no problems were noted.apparently without performing an ultrasound thickness analysis it is not possible to determine the condition of the brake lines.

Sitting at a traffic light, and the brake pedal went to the floor, allowing the truck to roll into the intersection.the only way i stopped it was shift the transmission into neutral. I nursed the truck back home and found all of the brake lines are corroded with one blown out. The master cylinder was almost empty in one chamber. The other chamber was totally empty. Truck has only 28,000 miles.

While driving at any speed, steering wheel shakes, slightly, yet noticeably. Any speed. The shake is consistent, feels worse when turning or(drifting) right i on freeway. Have had steering gear box, pitman arm, and road force balancing performed, to no relief. Upon self inspection, left wheel seems (tighter) and not as loose to hand manipulation, right wheel is noticeably loose with slight noise indicative to a loose or worn tie rod. Vehicle was purchased new. It has been to 5 gm dealerships to attempt a fix of this problem. A lawsuit was finalized april 2019. Gm was forced to compensate owner yet no fix was performed.
