The 'service air bag' started to be displayed frequently beginning early september 2009 on my 2005 chevrolet 3500.i notified my local dealer on sept 10, 2009 and the vehicle was serviced on september 11.the diagnose was a faulty 'frontal sensor'.on october 31, 2009 the 'service brake system' displayed and the abs light would not go out on the same vehicle.this was accompanied along with an annoying repeating beep sound.i contacted my local dealer again and informed of the problem.after several stopping and restarting of the engine the lights went out.on november 8, my 'service air bag' message displayed multiple times through out the day.the truck is scheduled for another service appointment.is there a problem with the electrical system?

Speedometer on my truck reads incorrectly. This morning i started my truck and was instantly going 25 mph, which then indicated i was driving at 60mph going with the flow of traffic on a 35mph road. Also while driving on the highway my speedometer reading will slowly drop until it reaches 0mph. I just bought the truck in july and didn't realize there was a problem with this until i was increasing my speed on the freeway and flying past cars at probably 90mph, but my speedometer said i was going 60, that is when i looked and just saw the speedometer slowly creep down to 30. I purchased the truck at 64000 and noticed the problem several days after. Lately the speedometer almost always adds 20-30 mph in the morning when i start it. (its really fun to be stopped at a stop light doing 100mph). I have not corrected the problem. I just called the dealer to day and they said because my mileage is over 70000 miles they will charge me to fix it. I really don't have the money to fix a problem that if you look online appears to be happening to a lot of different people with a lot of different vehicles. I also discovered there is a class action law suit about this but i really don't know any of this because i just bought this truck in july and was never told by the dealer or have i received any recall or service notices yet.

1) normal use of hvac in automobile2) approximately every 15k miles. ( occurred @15k and 32k) potential fire hazard. Melts plug/wiring for blower and gets extremely hot . Burning smell noticed. I was able to identify problem and turn off the blower before fire started on both occasions.3) replacement of damaged plug and install correct resistor. Improper resistor value installed at production and is mis-matched with blower motor causing repeated failures until corrected.

Instrument cluster stopped working and when talked to a service manager he explained to me that 03 and 04s cheverolets have recalls on this but the 05s haven't sent out recalls for this instrument cluster which controls the speed and fuel gages.

I have 136,571 miles on vehicle. My speedometer has stopped working. I see that there are alot of people complaining about this problems on forums. There is a recall on some gmc vehicles, but alot of people are not meeting the requirements..why! i think the recall need to be expanded.i have another vehicle that has the same issue also a 2005 chevy in which i am going to file a complaint on that vehicle too.there has been no accident involved with my vehicles.please help there are quite a few people with this problem and it should not be held by a class action lawsuit.there need to be a recalled placed on all chevy/gmc vehicles.

I believe my 2005 chevrolet silverado 3500, duramax/allison was equiped with under designed cooling systems; both transmission and engine.on slow mountain type roads i can run my unloaded truck into near overheat conditions.i believe these issues may be common to other '04.5 and '05 lly gm and chevrolet trucks like mine and gm has not provided it's dealer network with solutions to remedy the problem (most of them are simple, that the other 2 majors seem to understand: air flow control throught the cooling stack and cold air to the intake)

2005 duramax chevrolet 3500 truck, when the engine over heat light comes on it shuts the truck off....very dangerous going up a mountain with lots of traffic on the road.this over heating is very common for the chevy duramax diesel trucks for 2004-2005 years.

When driving at low parking speeds or stopped steering wheel is really hard to turn and locks up. Many near accidents because of this fault gm says it knows about the problem but has no fix for it. Premature fuel line failure due to excessive corrosion causing spillage of fuel and risk of fire. All underbody fuel lines excessively corroded and developed leaks with fuel spilling on hot exhaust system parts.

The contact owns a 2005 chevrolet silverado 3500. The contact stated that when driving at various speeds, the vehicle would abnormally decrease in speed without warrant and sporadically stall. The failure would occur despite the contacts attempts to depress the accelerator pedal. The dealer replaced a portion of the fuel line with a hydraulic hose yet the failure recurred. The contact stated the fuel lines were collapsing and he was hesitant to drive the vehicle due to the intermittent stalling without warning. There were no further repairs made to the vehicle. The failure mileage was 58,000 and the current mileage was 59,000.

Engine would turn over but not crank ,would not crank had to keep pumping gas peddle when it did crank i had to keep pumping gas pedal to keep cranked ,car would barely move it was spitting and sputtering really bad then it back fired hard and i made it home then it would not crank i replaced the fuel pump and the fuel pump relay switch,it ran for about 30 min. I was driving down the road and was slowing due to vehicles in front of me that were turning.as i started to depress the brake pedal there was a complete loss of pressure in the pedal.in order to get stopped i had to depress the pedal all the way to the floor.upon stopping in a safe location to inspect what had happened to the brakes, it was found that one of the brake lines had burst due to corrosion.

I was driving down aa alley came to the street and had to hit the brakes hard, the line leading from the abs block to the front left wheel ruptured. Complete loss of braking, ended up stopping the vehicle using the e-brake.

As previously stated i own a 2005 3500 hd series chevy diesel truck. The truck has less than 80,000 miles on it and has always been in releigh, nc. The truck has not been in a heavily northern road salted areas. Last week when i went to run an errand the brake pedal went all the way to the floor board. When i inspected the brake lines the rear brake line had ruptured. I fixed that line and while test driving the truck the other four lines to the abs and front brakes also ruptured. I have vehicles that are up to thirty years old that i drive on a regular basis and they still have their original brake lines that are in good working order.the brake lines on this truck have a latent defect. The defect is the result of either poor design or material selection or both. The brake lines are probably not manufactured in the usa to our strict standards , but manufactured in either china, mexico or india to less strict manufacturing and oso standards. If the brakes had failed on the road and not in the driveway it could have resultedin terrific and unnecessary accident. Keep in mind the truck weighs almost 8000 lbs. And traveling at 65 mph there is not much that can stop it except a concrete wall.the above describeaccident which could only be caused by general motors basic lack ofinterest in public safety and welfare. Gm should be declared responsible for my the brake failure and therefore found responsible for the repairs to my truck and the countless other trucks out that have yet to fail. The brakes failed not from a lack of inspection and maintenance, but rather from gm's intentional latent defect.

While driving and towing a 9000# trailer noticed brake pedal was getting a little spongy. Stopped at rest area and checked the fluid and noticed it was quite low. Looked under the truck and could see fluid dripping from a brake line. Mechanic put the truck on the rack and showed where all the brake lines were rusted and the one had rusted through. Mechanic said this is a known problem with this model truck. Replace all metal brake lines with stainless steel lines, also replace all the rubber lines as a precaution.

Traveling to work on june 17, 2014 morning via md i695 pressed brake pedal and it went immediately to the floor providing very little braking.prior to entering md i695 i had made several stops for intersections and traffic lights and the pedal feel and function was normal.fortunately being a diesel engine and use of lower engine gears i was able to safely stop the truck without incident.upon inspection by gm dealer mechanics it was discovered that the brake lines had rusted and ruptured causing loss of hydraulic fluid.gm stated this was a common problem as they use corrosive materials on original manufacture.since original new purchase the truck had been serviced on regular intervals at a gm dealer . Each time with a complete vehicle inspection. Most recent was april 4, 2014.never did an inspection report that the lines were rusting.total cost of repair was $3,668.45.why is gm permitted to use materials that are always going to rust and fail?i did not see a recall / safety notice on this vehicle.i did see recalls for other manufactures, like subaru, for the same problem of corrosive brake lines.

The brake line above the fuel tank blew out. It was not gradual either. The previous stop gave absolutely no warning. The next stop brake instantly went to the floor.

The contact owns a 2005 chevrolet silverado 3500. The contact stated that the brake warning light was illuminated. The contact depressed the brake pedal and it abnormally traveled to the floorboard.the vehicle was later towed to the dealer for diagnosis who advised that the brake lines and the calipers failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 37,980. The current mileage was approximately 37,965. The vin was unavailable.

Brake lines rusted and ruptured resulting in complete loss of braking. Ruptured line was one going to the antilock pump and thus all braking was lost. Antilock pump and brake lines are all exposed under the body of the vehicle and are thus completely exposed to the elements. This is the second chevrolet truck (previous report was 2001 model year that failed in 2010 with the same hydraulic system design that had the same complete brake failure due to this same hydraulic line rupture.) were it not for the fact that this occurred at low speedwith a trailer attached that had electric brakes, vehicle would not havebeen able to be stopped before entering an intersection. Why are these steel brake linesstill being used withinsufficient orno corrosion protection?

Intermittent violent brake shimmy. Dealer replaced brake rotors and shimmy still continues.dealer was unable to rectify problem.similar complaints from other truck owners.dealer stated that there was no known fix.

The contact owns a 2005 chevrolet silverado 3500. The contact stated that the brake pedal went to the floorboard when depressed. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that the passenger rear brake line broke because it was corroded which caused brake fluid to leak. The contact called the manufacturer who offered no assistance. The vehicle was repaired. The vin was unavailable. The current and failure mileages were approximately 44,000.

The contact owns a 2005 chevrolet silverado 3500. While the vehicle was parked, the contact observed that the power steering fluid was leaking from an unknown area. The failure occurred constantly. My chevy silverado has had the steering fixed 3 timesand its doing it again. We are not sure why its doing it, the steering wheel turn 2 times around to make a turn, even at an intersection. The garage here has worked on it and say they have had problems with that year of truck. Why hasn't there been a recall on it by now? it can cause an accident very easily.
