The contact owns a 2001 chevrolet c3500hd.while idling or driving at any speed, the vehicle stalled.there was also a loss of brakes and steering.there were no warning indicator lights present.the vehicle would restart after two minutes.the dealer stated that the crankshaft position sensor failed.no repairs were made.the manufacturer stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign id number 07v521000 (engine and engine cooling).the current and failure mileages were 210,848.

Vehicle stalling intermittently at all speeds.sometimes less than 40 mph, sometimes at freeway speeds in excess of 65 mph.restarts after several minutes.each time it stalls the time before it restarts increases.

Security system cut power to fuel pump stopping engine,a reset takes 10 minutes. The gm help line provided me with the method of reseting the security system.gm's help line admits this is a problem, but has no current factory upgrade or repair.the engine stalls shortly after starting, allwoing the vehicle to be moved a few feet (in my case out of the driveway).

On numerous occasions transmission has failed to engage after coming to a stop.the vehicle has also on numerous occasions surged while easing out into traffic, almost causing accidents.the vehicle also feels like it is being bumped from behind on occasion.these problems are not consistent, but i have noted on the deiselpage.com that others also have this problem.

The brakse on my 2001 silverado 3500 have been intermittent the past few years.most of the time they work fine but today was the worst experience of all the rest.i pulled up to a stop light, pedestrians stepped into the cross walk, i stepped on the brakes and went right through the red light.fortunately the pedestrians were able to jump out of the way as i coasted right through them.the brakes worked fine until i got home then i almost coasted into my garage door.

Anti lock brakes engaging at slow speed.

After changingtires abs system would not work properly on wet roads. Dealerwas told not to reset abs system.

The abs sensor caused the left front brake to chatter when almost to a stop. On wet pavement the wheel would slide.i took my truck to my dealer for repair.they said that rust was forming between the casting and the sensor and lifting the sensor up.they have seen this several times. They took thesensor out and cleaned the casting and sensor sprayed a anti rust on both and replaced the sensor. Things work ok now.

Rear drivers' side window fell out.vehicle in opposite direction swerved to miss.

Our 2001 chevrolet 3500 truck right rear window started fluttering and blew out landing in road and causing vehicles to brake to avoid broken glass.the replacement is not the glass, but the entire window unit...$278.00 and 2 1/2 hourslabor for a total $463.00.the design is all plastic will a friction fit.it is so common a failure that the parts place said that they keep a 1/2 dozen on-hand. This is a safety item because it fails into the path of on-coming vehicles. I want a refund and a nation-wide recall.tom & kristi fancett
