Vehicle was in an accident, veered off the side of the road and hit a few trees. The airbag dust deployed, however the airbag itself did not.
I remotely started my truck. It was approx 20 degrees outside. Approx 5 minutes later i got into the truck, and started backing out of my driveway. I heard a crackling sound, and my rear window just disentigrated. It is a 3 section heated power window.
The contact owns a 2016 chevrolet silverado 2500. While driving, the driver's side visor started leaking water inside the vehicle. The contact was concerned that the leak could short out the electrical components on the driver's side of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to haselwood chevrolet buick gmc (501 w hills blvd, bremerton, wa 98312, (360) 616-3272) where it was diagnosed that the xm satellite radio antenna seal failed, but the warranty was expired. The failure was considered water damage and was not covered. The dealer stated that there were many similar failures with other gm vehicles and many dealers were running out of parts. The manufacturer stated that there was no recall or warranty coverage; therefore, they would not pay for the repair cost. The failure mileage was 65,000.

This is not a safety issue but i am experiencing a problem with my audio system in the 2016 silverado 2500 high country truck. The audio seems to go in and out of stereo sound and also ssems to be changing its equalization periodically. There doesn't seem to be and rhyme or reason when this happens; doesn't happen when i hit a bump, or stop suddenly, or anything like that. The sound system will just randomly cut in and out in the manner described above. It is mildly annoying and if anyone knows what this could be i'd appreciate the head's up. It's been to the dealer for maintenance and i asked them to take a look at it which or course, they didn't find anything. I know i'm whining but when you spend $51k for a vehicle you want everything to work on it, right!
While driving on a city street i smelled something burning i heard a sizzling sound and looked in the back and smoke was rolling from behind my passenger back seat. I realized it was coming from the wire connection for rear defroster. The smoke stopped after about 10 seconds so i continued down the road and after about 30 seconds a load boom occurred and the passenger rear section of my electric sliding window with defrost exploded. I took it to the dealer and they said it wasn't covered by warranty or recall. This is being recalled in canada on the same trucks but not u.s. Trucks.
The contact owns a 2016 chevrolet silverado 2500. The contact stated that the locking nut in the gear system was loose. The vehicle was taken to broadway chevrolet (920-498-6666, located at 2700 s ashland ave, green bay, wi 54304) where the technician glued the part in lieu of replacement. The contact stated that the remedy should have consisted of more than just gluing; however, the failure did not recur. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact also stated that the black fuse box underneath the hood short circuited. The contact took the vehicle to the same dealer and was informed that he was fortunate that the vehicle did not catch on fire. The dealer informed the manufacturer and a team of specialists were sent to the dealer to repair the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000.
Check engine light came on throwing p203b code, which is the reductant level sensor code. This seems to have been an issue already in these vehicles dating back to 2011 when it started. I found a service bulletin #14652a regarding the replacement of such sensor but the dates on the vehicles only state 2011-2012. I want to see if there is a newer bulletin released which covers the later years with the same problem.
I am on a cross country trip and the vehicles engine light came on, i pulled into a chevy dealer for service.chevy dealer claims the part needed for repair called an ecm module, (i.e. Computer) is not available and it is not being produced because of a defect in design. The vehicle has been with a chevy dealer for 10 days. I am 1100 miles from home and general motors has refused to give me a loaner to drive back to kansas city.in talking with the diesel technicians at two of the dealers, they claim this is a widespread problem that gm is trying to hide.
This car has broken down multiple times.
The lighting on these trucks is absolutely terrible. The brights/high beams are ok but the dim/low beams are dangerous! there is little to no side projection and the distance is horrible. If it wasnt for the fog lamps i wouldnt be able to drive this truck at night. It is completely unacceptable that a $60,000 vehicle would come with lighting this poor!
The low beam headlights are dangerously narrow and dim. In rural areas where there is little ambient light it is impossible to see deer in the ditches, and curves in the road are worse because the narrow beam doesn't project to the side at all. The dealer checked the headlight adjustment but not the lumen output of the low beam. Gm was no help at all. The way it is now is not safe and an increase chance of auto and animal accidents.
Very poor headlights when driving at night can easy over drive headlights when driving in rural areas were there are no street lights above start to loose good vision at 50 to 75 feet in front of truck this is very bad headlights these should have never been aloud to be put on the road somebody going to hurt with these lights and nobody is doing nothing about it i only hope that gm steps up or fed step up and make gm make this right before people get hurt.far to often people half pay the price before things are done about addressing the problem.they fixed the headlights on the 1500 trucks so they know they have the problem on 2500 and 3500 trucks. Thank your number one taxpayer
The headlights, both high and low beams are very poor for a 2016 vehicle. The light they project onto the roadway will washout in a wet or dark road and in my opinion not acceptable for a new vehicle.
My truck has a major exhaust leak that flows into the cab of my truck. It has a duramax diesel engine. I noticed after i first bought the truck, so i thought it was normal and told my family members it was normal. 6 months after the purchase, i noticed that my sense of smell and taste was lacking. My doctors had no explanation on why i have lost my ability to smell.i drove 3 times in 2 years to seattle,wa and every time i arrived i was incapacitated. I has a sore throat, cough, and diarrhea for a week. After returning home on these trips, the same sickness had taken over my body. The dealership replaced an egr part and claimed the part was leaking and my problem was solved on 9/6/2018. I made one trip of six hundred miles 1 week after the repair and was so sick afterwards, i started looking for answers myself i bought a carbon monoxide detector and it starts beeping at 100 ppm within 2 minutes after starting my truck, and the detector starts beeping with my window down. Right now i am waiting for a call from my dealer to repair the problem, my truck has 58,000 miles, and i am afraid to drive it anywhere because my nose is still burning from driving 2 miles round trip to a local post office on 9/17/2018. I believe i am lucky to be alive and the leak is progressing immensely. I have all the co2 and nox poison symptoms. There is a noxious smell, since co2 is odorless, the smell is no2 or nox. The problem is with the downpipe off the turbo and the flanges holding the parts together.i want someone to know about this problem before someone dies and it goes unnoticed, if it has not happened already.the problem is with the downpipe off the turbo and the flanges holding the parts together are defective. Since the parts are made in china, i was wondering how they could be defective. I don't believe a communist country would want to harm an american unnoticeably.
Vehicle just shut off while in operation then would turn over but no start. Vehicle was towed to dealership and was advised fuel pump failed and would be covered under warranty. Luckily vehicle was stationary but was in prepartion for a vacation pulling our 5th wheel camper.from researching since this incident, i've been in contact with several individuals who have had this part fail not only while moving but have had it happen twice. Even the service advisor's acknowledge that this part is a known failure item and will happen again.service department had vehicle for 2 weeks.

I purchased a heavy large steel cabinetwhich was loaded onto my pickup truck. When i arrived at home, i was going to lift the cabinet off of my truck with a john deere loader. I parked my truck on my lawn. I then drove the loader up to the truck on the driver's side. I raised the bucket of the loader over the cabinet and connected it to the cabinet with a chain. I raised the bucket up until the cabinet was about 4 inches off the truck bed. I got off the loader and proceeded to drive my truck forward out from under the cabinet. I started to pull forward slowly when i noticed the back of the cabinet seem to tilt slightly downward. I was concerned the wheel on the cabinet would get caught between the space of the bed and the tailgate. I decided to get out of the truck and raise the bucket a few more inches higher. The engine was running and i put the truck in park ( the park dash light came on) and i got out. I walked toward the loader cab. When i was halfway there, the pickup truck rolled backward, hitting the cabinet which was suspended from the loader stopping the truck. That caused the cabinet to strike the back of the truck bed, pushing it into the cab, breaking the back window and denting the cab roof. There was over $9000.00 damage to the truck. I had a $2000.00 insurance deductible.i have found that when i move the gear shift lever between the " reverse " and "park" detents, there is a flat spot where the shift lever can stay and a light will indicate either "r" or "p" depending where it rests on that flat spot. This only happens between "park" and "reverse". When i got out of the truck the light indicated "park" but was on the flat spot and held in park until it slipped back to the reverse detent causing the accident. There should be no way that the gear shift lever should be able to rest between gears indicating it is in park.
While driving my truck in 6th gear at 65 mph, i approached a hill and i changed the gear selector to the manual position and to my surprise it went into 4th gear, racing the rpmsup to 3500 and tried to slow the truck down quicker than i wanted. The bigger problem with this is slippery snow covered roads, your apt to lose control. When you down shift to manual it should remain in the gear your in,and you push a button at your descretion as needed to a lower gear. Took it back to the dealer and they said thats the way it is,but they were surprised it did that as well. I feel its not safeit

Jerking of transmission/ gears. Gearing up and down. Shaking at higher speeds.

Drivers front seat belt tensioner not working
The contact owns a 2016 chevrolet silverado 2500. The contact stated that the driver's and passenger's seat belts failed to retract. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The contact mentioned that he was a certified mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.
Started to apply brakes to stop for red light. All of the sudden brake pedal went to the floor which caused me not to be able to stop for the red signal. I ran thru the intersection striking another vechicle. That car was totaled and our truck had 7k in damage. Their were minor injuries to the gentleman i struck and i received two tears in my left rotator cuff which will require a surgical repair. Seatbelt did not engage nor did the air bags deploy. I assume the seatbelt didn't work due to the brake failure.
This car has broken down multiple times.
I have a 2006 weekend warrior 3105 5th wheel. When i purchased this truck i traded in a 2011 gmc sierra 2500hd that i had not had any problems with. This 2016 is my 4th duramax i have owned a 2002, 2005, 20011 and this truck a 2016.when i am towing my 5th wheel at completely random timesi get a "service trailer brakes"imessage on the dash. As soon as this message appears it turns off the trailer brakes. I have to find a wide spot pull over and: turn the truck off, get out, unplug the trailer and plug it back in. This resets the truck and the brakes will work until the next occurance.saturdayfebruary 8th i left for a week long trip to pismo beach. I went less than 25 miles when i got the first "service trailer brakes" message.i looked for a wide spot pulled over and did the unplug/plug in thing and it started working again.this happened twice more on the way to pismo beach.monday i went to the chevy dealer in arroyo grande. They looked at the truck and said there were corroded connectors in the t connector in the back but they could not get a new one for 3-5 days. While i was in their dealership the man in line in front of me was in for service for the same thing "service trailer brakes". He has had his truck in 7 times for the same issue. His is a 2017.i get online and ordered a pollak t-connector and heavy duty receptical and it was delivered to me friday.i installed theese on saturday and used a test light to make sure everything was working and wired properly.sunday when i left to return home i didnt get 5 miles down the road when i got the "service trailer brakes " message.i waited for a wide spot on the 101 fwy pulled over turned the truck off, pulled the plug and replugged in and it worked the rest of the trip approximately 135 miles.i don't trust this truck anymore and i think its a dangerous vehicle to be towing with.
The power assist to the brakes is failing.the truck requires extreme force to the brake pedal for the vehicle to stop. Extreme safety hazard.
Duramax 2500hd silverado ltsteering/brake issue when rear tires go below tpms threshold of 56 psi per tire and illuminate a warning light. The symptoms were while driving in forward direction a feeling of bad brakes/warped rotor/missing lug nuts with a continual increase of shaking past 25mph up to 65mph at which point it felt completely unsafe. Other symptoms were noticeably worse while braking the steering wheel became almost unholdable and shaking to an extreme.brakes, rotors and associated hardware have been checked and are in good condition. The truck only has 72k miles on it.after stopping at a shop and putting air back in the tires back to "within tolerance up to 65 psi per tire. The truck drives normally as it should without shake or wobble.it currently has non factory tires of brand: toyo a/t open country. Size: lt265/70/r17
Increased brake pedal effort , still experiencing after 1st recall fix
Going downhill using the brakes often it loses power brakes because of vacuum loss.their is a recall for this but my truck is not on it.to recalibrate the electronic brake control.the brakes still work but with no assist it is very hard to slow down.the code showed on my chevrolet app but not when they scanned the vehicle.code 8-9999
For three years i have towed several 10,000# toy hauler trailers around the country with sub standard brake systems. Each time i took the truck to the dealer to have the brakes checked, i was told that they were fine and no problems existed.with the trucks trailer brake system. After checking the trucks system myself,, i determined that the voltage to the trailer was only at 1.8v when it should have been 12v. I again returned to the dealer and this time i i was told that the problem lies with the 7 pin plug on the trailer, and that i needed to change it to a heavy duty aftermarket plug because i have a newer trailer with led lights that increase the resistance, and that causes my truck not to sense the trailer properly. There is a bulletin describing this problem.......but i was never given one or even had the problem explaineduntil today.so, here i am driving at least 17,000# of steel down the highway for three years knowing that the trailer brakes are not performing correctly, and all the while chevrolet is fully aware of the problem! how many other trucks are currently pulling trailers that can not stop because their trailer brakes are defective? consider this the next time you are on the highway with a truck pulling an rv trailer is behind you and your family.
Excessive steering play most notable at speeds above 45 mph
While driving the truck was difficult to control. Itwandered while the steering wheel was straight and when you attempted to bring the truck back to center, it would over correct. This was more difficult when towing a fifth wheel rv. It was a constant challenge to keep the truck and trailer in my lane.
Very loose(extreme play) steering.steering has at least 3 inches of play.when going around curves you have to steer the play until the looseness(play) in the steering catches. This is not safe.please advise. 55,000 miles.when driving straight, the steering wheel can be moved back and forth a considerable amount without out having any effect on the actual turning of the vehicle.this issue is constant.it is always happening if the vehicle is on.please advise asap.
The steering is sloppy. Have about 2 to 3 inches of play in it. This happened while just driving down the road and then i began to notice the play in the steering wheel. This vehicle only have 26,000 miles on it.
The contact owns a 2016 chevrolet silverado 2500. The contact stated that the steering wheel wobbled while steering the vehicle. The contact who mentioned being a certified mechanic stated that the steering wheel lash adjuster for the power steering gear box bolts loosened. The contact repaired the vehicle by replacing the steering gearbox. The contact referenced technical service bulletin, 18-na-280, as a possible fix for the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the nearest dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000.
2-4' play intermittently and unexpectedly, truck immediately goes to the left or to the right at speeds 30 mph up to 65mph. This happen down a highway and on roadways which at 30 mph the truck veered left into the other lane with another car coming towards me, car swerved to miss me preventing a head on head collusion. Truck has 35,500 miles on it. There are several complaints online to this exact problem. I do hope a recall or investigation happens prior to someone having to dye because of this issue.
The contact owns a 2016 chevrolet silverado 2500. While driving, the steering wheel became loose and veered to the left. The contact had to turn the steering wheel four to six inches to the right before he could drive normally. There were no warning indicators illuminated. On some occasions, the failure was unable to be corrected. The vehicle was taken to m k smith chevrolet (12845 central ave, chino, ca 91710, (909) 743-5697) where it was diagnosed that a nut inside the steering box became loose and needed to be replaced to prevent it from becoming even more loose. The vehicle was in the process of being repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 19,614. *pm
Loose steering, or just sloppy steering. Several inches each direction with the steering wheel to keep the truck going straight down the road. Like driving a fifties model car. My 2012 model the steering would completely go out, this one keeps getting loose. Sounds like many other owners are having same issue. Going back into the shop. Second attempt for repair. Also this high dollar truck has a sound system that on am radio sounds like the speakers are busted.
The contact owns a 2016 chevrolet silverado 2500. While driving various speeds, the steering wheel loosened and became difficult to steer without warning. The contact took the vehicle to dublin chevrolet gmc buick (2042 veterans blvd, dublin, ga 31021, 478-246-4916) and was informed that he would have to have the vehicle diagnosed before the defect could be remedied. The manufacturer was notified and provided case number: 9-5643729875. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 25,000.

Steering wheel was very loose took it in to dealership and they said my steering gearbox is going out waiting on part difficult to keep truck on roadway it does it on highway 64 going 70, or on back roads running 35 there is so much play its very hard to keep in control. Truck only has 40000 miles seen many many other people having to do the same thing more than once in a 10000 mile time frame this issue needs to beaddressed before someone gets hurt.
The steering is very loose/excessive lash. Up to4 inches of free steering wheel travel. Not as noticeable from 0-40 or over 70mph but in between is very noticeable! this also makes the truck seem "darty" when changing directions on winding roads and uneven spots in the pavement. I took my truck to the dealer and they said that it is a very common problem in the 2500 trucks and they dont understand why it isnt a recall. Parts and labor to fix a "design flaw" gear in the steering box $2,000. This is ridiculous that a 2016 model vehicle with 42,000 miles has this issue. This is most definitely a serious safety issue!after researching this problem i have notice a lot of complaints with this model truck having the same issue. In some of the reports that i have seen some of the trucks are having the same problem with less than 15,000 miles.
The contact owns 2016 chevrolet silverado 2500. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 mph, the steering wheel was loose and it was difficult to steer the vehicle straight. The vehicle was taken to don hatten chevrolet service (6000 hattan dr, wichita, ks 67219, (316) 633-7175) and the contact was informed that the steering gear box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under warranty and that the repair was not covered under warranty. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.
While driving down interstate steering became very loose and hard to control. Steering had 2-3' slop and made very difficult to control. Problem noticeable at speeds above 30mph. Looked into issue and found oil leaking out of steering box adjustment screw. Found adjustment screw had backed out of housing causing excessive backlash in steering box and oil leak. Retorquedscrew.
The contact owns a 2016 chevrolet silverado 2500. While driving 25 to 60 mph, the steering wheel pivoted to the left and right. The contact had to hold the steering wheel with both hands to keep it in the lane. The vehicle was taken to pine belt chevrolet (1088 nj-88, lakewood, new jersey 08701, 848-299-4435) where it was diagnosed that the steering gear box was loose and leaking (failure code: pa45908). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 9-5091926728. The failure mileage was 45,000.
Over a period of aprox 600 miles/3days, the steering has gone from near 0 slack/play to well over 1 1/2 inches of play resulting erratic steering response which, when on narrow highways makes it difficult to stay in your lane.several occasions had close calls both with on coming traffic and with running off road.is obvious most problematic at highway speeds but occurs at all speeds
Steering wheel develops 3 to 4 inches of sloppiness or lash.lash will change according to speed. Under 25 mph no lash.but at higher speeds lash develops. Hard to keep vehicle in center of lane. Especially when driving mountain highways with curves
4" of play in steering wheel, 19500 miles on truck, vehicle wanders when driving, worse on the highway, very dangerous.
Vehiclesteering gear failure on my 2016 chevrolet k2500truck . Truck would wonders back forth while driving on the road,,play in steeringwheel. Starts out small then gets worse as time goes on. Thisfailure needs to be address becausethere may be other other failures out there that are not being reported . This condition is very serious because of the loss of controlyouhave while driving. Talked to gm rep,he gave me the runaroundand that gm is not responsibly for the vehicle when the warranty runs out.thenwho is responsibly for the instillationof dangerousdefective parts.
Steering is getting looser and looser when driving with only 59,000 miles on truck. Also steering gear box leaking and dealer said nothing they can do and charged me.
'steering extremely loose; steering box leaking fluid.steering worsens at higher speeds, hard to keep straight on road due to excessive play in steering wheel.
This car has broken down multiple times.
17,200 miles and the steering has 3-4 inches of slop in it before the truck begins to turn. It is extremely hard and dangerous to drive. Wants to leave its lane constantly. Mechanic found the lash nut to be backed halfway off, the gear box is leaking fluid, the power steering pump is leaking fluid, and the hoses are leaking as well. 3 year warranty ended a little over a month ago, so gm sr. Advisor said that they would not cover anything, even though it is well under the mileage portion of the warranty parameters. The customer relations manager at the local dealership refused to call me per the request of the gm case manager, and he passed my case to one of his service advisers, so no help from my dealership at all. There are 7 tsb's for this issue #pit5501c->f & 18-na-280. The gm service bulletin specifically says "all vin #'s for 2016 2500hd" "all engines" & "all transmissions", yet sr. Advisors at gm customer care say nothing is attached to my account, and my truck has not been into a gm dealership in a year, so they will not cover anything. Hello, 3 years old and 17,000 miles, that's an average of 5,666 miles per year which is not even enough miles for gm's recommended oil change period. Recall these defective steering gear boxes before someone gets severely injured or even killed! i have pictures i can submit if needed.
While driving on the highway at ~65 mph, the steering suddenly became very loose.had about 4 inches of play in the steering wheel before the tires would turn.very hard to control vehicle in lane.
Very sloppy steering about3 to 4 inches in turning steering wheel to make correction in direction of truck to keep in center of road when traveling from 20 to 70 mph.
The contact owns a 2016 chevrolet silverado 2500. While driving 45 mph, the steering wheel had a lot of play and turnedspontaneously. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to rogersville chevrolet (5655 u s 11w, rogersville, tn 37857, (423) 207-2394) where it was diagnosed that the gear in the steering box, outer arm, and tie rod arms needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and were of no help. The failure mileage was 42,000.*dt
Around 35,000 miles the steering became very sloppy. 4-6 inches of play before responding. The defective steering box also activates stabilitrack while driving on clear road conditions jerking the vehicle to the left. Took the truck the wilson county chevrolet buik gmc in lebanon tn. They performed service bulletin '#pit5501c. Problem came back a few days later. They said the steering box and pitman arm needed to be replaced but was not covered under warranty. I do not feel safe driving the truck while it jerks me all over the road. Gm needs to step up and fix the issue on hundreds of trucks affected by this steering issue!!!
I was driving south on us hwy 43 at 63 mph and my power steering went out resulting in my truck leaving the road and crashing into the trees on the northbound right of way i know that the previous year trucks have a recall on the electronic steering system but there are no recalls on my truck as of yet on the power assisted steering i was lucky please help keep anyone else from getting hurt from this faulty system
Just noticed there was play in the steering.the steering wheel can move 2-3 inches without response.this causes over correction when driving causing the vehicle to track out of its lane.truck has 11,0000 miles.
The contact owns a 2016 chevrolet silverado 2500. The contact stated that there was an internal power steering fluid leak and the steering wheel was difficult to maneuver. There was no warning indicator illuminated for the electronic power steering. The dealer (gross motors, 404 e. Division street, neillsville, wi 54456, 715-743-3207) was unable to diagnose the failure. There was no recall for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000. Consumer stated power steering fluid leaked all over garage floor also loud noise coming from power steering. Updated 12/18/18
Sloppy loose steering. Purchased new in 2016, with less than 5k miles noticed steering was getting loose. Now with 76k miles, truck has been in the shop 6 times for this issue. Twice was blown off and nothing done to correct issue. At 66k they replaced the steering box. Once again with another 10k miles the problem has come back. Everyone knows the bs the dealership gives you once the warranty is out. There needs to be a recall, driving while pulling a trailer makes issue much worse. Also on a windy day the problem is much worse and can cause a wreck. The dealership has performed the stb two or three times, it's only a temp fix. Time for gm recall.
Excessive steering wheel play or (lash).while driving down the highway, i can turn the steering wheel 3 inches past center to either the left or right and the truck has no response.this is extremely stressful because it is impossible to maintain your lane because of changing road grades and crowns.also the truck did not exhibit this behavior until the 15,000 mile mark.then all of a sudden the steering became extremely loose.gm has released tsb documents (pit5501f) dealing with it, but it does not fix the problem.i do not feel safe driving a 3/4 ton truck with uncontrollable steering!!!!!
All of a sudden and without any warning, while driving down the road, there became between 3 and 31/2 inches of slack in the steering. The truck suddenly darted to the side. Could have easily caused a collision. The private mechanic i spoke with over the phone knew exactly what the problem was, as did the dealership we spoke with. Apparently this is a known problem. This is a safety issue. Sudden slack in the steering box. Could have easily caused a head on collision! all front end components have no slack except the steering box.
At around 27900 miles all of a sudden the steering wheel has 3 to 4 inches of free play. It is sloppy at all speeds, it is was hard to maintain the lane especially at highway speeds while going over a bridge deck where the blacktop meets the concrete, the truck would jerk to the right or left. I called my dealership bonner chevrolet in kingston pa. I was able to drop it off and told them my problem and that was a service bulletin pit5501cfor it. They put adhesive on the bolt for the steering box. Now less than 3000 miles the steering is sloppy again. How many more complaints does there have to be to have the gear box replaced? does someone have to get killed or seriously injured?
At approximately 9,700 miles the steering in my 2016 2500hd chevrolet sliverado ltz suddenly had 3-4 inches of play in the steering while driving. This made the truck difficult to control. The dealer was helpful and replaced the steering box at no cost. The truck now has 51,000 miles on it and it has play in the steering gear box again. The dealer said they already put a steering box in the truck and offered to "help" by only charging me 1,000 dollars for another new steering box, due to the excessive play it has again. I have several concerns, first and foremost is the fact the truck is dangerous to drive especially at higher speeds. Secondly, the speed at which the play in the steering wheel occurs. In my case, both events happened while driving and the steering went from normal to problematic instantly. I am beyond understanding why gm hasn't put out a recall on this issue. You should always be able to steer and stop you vehicle. My other concerns involve putting a third gear box in the truck at a cost of a 1,000 dollars with no guarantee the third one won't do the same thing in another 9,700 to 41,000 miles. It would be seriously nice to know, when driving down the road at the posted 60 mph speed limit, your truck doesn't decide to all the sudden wonder over into the oncoming traffic, as mine did. I would appreciate it if someone would help those of us in this position. Gm obviously has a problem they don't seem to be addressing.
At 7500 miles my trucks steering became really loose. Could move 2 to 3 inches with out any wheel movement.which created a very dangerous driving condition.
There is 2-4 inches of play/slack in the steering wheel. All ball joints and steering components are fine. Very dangerous and difficult to drive. 26,000 miles on the truck. Thanks

Vehicle shakes or vibrates at most speeds.the vibration is worst at 25-45 and 65mph+.it causes driver fatigue and nausea.tires have been road forced balanced by dealer and drive shaft replaced in attempts to fix problem.no solution has been found by dealer. Dealer acknowledges the vibrations and says the vibration is normal operation for this vehicle leading me to believe that a recall should be issued.
The clear coat paint is peeling on my driver side rear door on the top of the door.
Trucks.
My vehicle vibrates and shakes at varying speed but mostly between 60 and 75mph.i have been to dealership three times for diagnosis and tires replaced twice.the dealershiptested the vehicle with sensors and can not isolate the vibration.i have only had vehicle a few months and question the safety of the vehicle.i wish i had researched the truck on the internet prior to purchase because the problem i am having is known and has a name "the chevy shake"i hope others will continue to report these concerns because chevrolet needs to recognize they have a problem and address the issue without the runaround customers are being forced to endure.the vehicle issue needs a recall.

I have auto door locks, but no manual unlocks. If there is a power loss or front end accident and battery is damaged you cannot unlock doors from inside vehicle to get out. Seems like a hazard as the door buttons are also down inside there hole and you cannot pull them either.
Lock system failure- child's finger caught in door. Vehicle was parked in my garage. We were preparing to go to school. Both front doors were open, my daughter was placing her backpack in front floorboard for school. While doing so, i reached in and started the truck. The locks automatically engaged. She pushed the frt passenger door to, but caught the fisrt joint of her thumb in the door jamb. The door remained in the half latched position. Even after unlocking the vehicle from the inside, we were not able to get the lock to physically disengage and allow the door to open to free her finger. The entire time she was screaming, and out of desperation she yanked her thumb out. Her entire thumb is swollen, and black and blue on the end. I absolutely despise this locking feature on the truck- it is enough to make me consider returning the vehicle- and i have only had it for 6 months. I purchased this truck new in march 2016 from franklin, tn. It was a service loaner with 4700miles on it at the time.
Loose steering 4 inches each way from center while driving. Problem with steering box adjusting screw backing outbefore and after locktite being applied.problem has reoccur several timeswith less than 30,000 miles on stock truck

2016 chevrolet silverado.consumer writes in regards to trailer towing mirrors visibility issues.*ldthe consumer stated the mirrors sit 6 to 8 inches too high, blocking the view of critical areas to the sides and ahead on the left side. The mirrors also interfere with the view of oncoming traffic at intersections and pedestrians. The thick posts between the windshield and the doors exacerbate the problem. Updated 08/28/2017
I went to buy new tires for the first time and they called me back and asked had the truck been in a wreck and no it hadn't.they asked had i bought it new and the answer was yes.my truck has been driven by me a 53 year old woman and has been taken care of.they said they had never seen anything like this. My rim was broken all the way through.
