A warning message comes on the dash telling the driver there is a issue with the trailer brakes, or wiring system. The trailer brakes become inoperable when this comes on. We have contacted gm with the issue, both at the dealer level and at the corporate level; and they insist it is a problem with our trailers. The same trailers are used with older chevrolet trucks without incident. We have also been informed by gm that the 2015 silverado 2500's are equipped with a more sensitive trailering system. When the connection becomes wet during inclement weather, or the truck hits a bump; and the connector loses contact momentarily the message will illuminate. Resulting in the loss of trailer brakes. This is a serious safety issue.

When starting and driving the vehicle the infotainment system doesn't completely boot up. It is acratic and happen more then 50% of the time then operating the vehicle.this affects all audio in the vehicle, which includes turn signals audio, flashers audio, hands free voice recognition (giving & hearing voice command), receiving calls via blue tooth, calling via bluetooth, voice commands calling onstar, receiving onstar calls and this includes all media cd radio etc. This makes this vehicle unsafe because of the following: unable to hear turns signals, unable to use hand free bluetooth when receiving and making calls including 911 and onstar.

Windshield wipers intermingling to the point i have to put the fuse out of the fuse box to get them to shut off even when the vehicle is shut off while interminting no high beams will work unless you hold the wiper/turn signal lever forward. So to use windshield wiper i have to put the fuse in tduse box then put it out when i'm at my destination. While the wipers are interminting the trailer break service indacter ding and keep popping up on the service screen saying either service or it just pop up trailer break indacter as if i put the trailer bottom to add more break no trailer is attached when this is happening driving down the road it just keep ding or poping up on the screen

When lifting the snowplow, randomly the dashboard cluster and radio system will go blank.gm has admitted to this flaw in their 1500 model for the same year truck, has offered a fix at their expense, however will not offer the same fix for the 2500 model, even though it has the exact same issue.(gm bulletin attached for 1500 model).i spoke to a mckayla (supervisor) in the warranty department.she said gm will not cover it and it is an out of pocket expense.she further stated if at a time gm decides it is a fault of theirs in the future, i would at that time be reimbursed.i have included the dealer repair slip that shows harness needed replacement and the cost of repair.

Factory trailer brake connector plug is loose and causes trailer brakes to become inoperative when the trailer male plug jiggles inside the truck female plug.i belong to several rv related sites on the internet, and this issue is coming up more often with people thinking it is just their plug or connector.mine fit fine in my 2004 tahoe, but is very loose on the new truck.others are saying theirs also fit other brands of previous owned trucks or earlier chevy year models.this is a huge safety issue, as going down a mountain or through an intersection with no trailer brakes is going to get people hurt and killed.the plug was not manufactured with the proper tolerance for a good snug fit.the little safety door with the tab on it helps to hold it in place, but the fit is still so loose that the connection is lost to lights and brakes.it is loose when you slide it in, but the bumpiness and the movement of the vehicles makes it lose the connection.i brought this up to the dealer that i purchased the truck from, but it seemed to be a non issue with them.i think it needs to be addressed with gm and quickly.we all know of their record on faulty switches etc.these plugs need to be replaced with proper fitting ones.thank you

Water leak on headliner at sun visor or overhead console areas, result of shark fin antenna. Vehicle not listed under vins for nhtsa tsb # 10089829 & 10089829.vehicle has previously had dead battery which dealer claimed it was old battery, and therefore replaced my terminals and i purchased a new battery. My truck is a 2015 chevrolet silverado 2500 crew cab and is experiencing the same issue as this service bulletin is listing. Therefore dealer has stated it would be $120 to have outside company come in to inspect vehicle before and additional write up could be done and repair would be out of pocket.

While towing, break warning light came on. Had no trailer breaks and had to stop pull off road. Shut down as per manuel and restart. That corrected the problem.this could have been a serious issue if we had been on a steep downhill grade!

My battery was dead this morning,so i jump started my truck. I let it run stationary for 10 minutes and the battery exploded. It sounded like a bomb went off. It blew the battery into pieces, electronics and the coolant resivoir. It sprayed battery acid, coolant everywhere. My ears were ringing as i was 10 feet from it. It also dented the fender on my truck. I contacted the local chevy dealership and was blown off, was told i would be called back but was not. They said they had no information on problems with those batteries and said they couldn't get a resivoir for 3 days. We are traveling and stopped here in lebanon tn for the weekend. I have many more pictures, but they are too large to add.

Vehicle has had several electrical issues, including backup camera not functioning, radio info screen disappearing, traction control must be turned off in order to have reasonable throttle response when under 40 degrees outside, most significant is the fuel pump fuse blowing multiple times and shutting the engine down which creates an unsafe condition since there is a sudden loss of power. Chevrolet unwilling to repair and is refusing to return calls on my inquiry about the safety of this vehicle.

I bought this truck 14 months ago and was talked into a gps system. The documentation stated it was the latest and greatest and up to date. It was bothersome that the system could not know about my 7 year old subdivision and large intersection such as the new i 65 interchange on the south side of indy. Then i pulled a trailer to texas and was almost killed in a head on because the gps system in my new truck thinks all frontage roads in tx are 2 way when most are one way in the same direction as the travel lanes for the interstate. It was about 10 pm and raining.i was directed to exit the freeway and cross under and turn right and go 1 mile to my destination. I made the turn and was up to about 50 mph when an 18 wheeler came down the exit ramp headed straight for me. We both had to make some wild maneuvers to avoid the collision. I ended up having to replace the truck bed from damage on th side from a semi jackknife. I contacted chevy and spent many calls with their entertainment dept to try and fix this issue. Chevy refuses to fix this issue and wants me to buy an update. I won't do that as it would erase the original software and i would not be able to prove what happened. If you have any wrong way head onsin tx in a gm product is was most likely the gps that caused the wreck. I'm frustrated that there seems to be no interest in this problem. Luckily the gps in my phone works fine and i can get to my destinations safely for almost free instead of the $850.00 chevy system that has tried to kill me twice before i stopped using it. I have talked to several chevy mechanics and they have also seen the problem in both customer cars and when they have rented a gm product. Date is a guess as it has been awhile, note: i deliver rv's and keep logbooks and can get the exact date if needed. Hd long bed crew cab 4x4 singlehttps://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/vehic tire pu

The contact owns a 2015 chevrolet silverado 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a loss of power steering and a loss of power while driving at low speeds. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the steering position sensors and the gear box were defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failures recurred. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000. The vin was not provided.

The hmi in the truck will show the radio info or back-up camera picture, etc. But, at different random times, even though there is a visual of radio or back-up picture, there is no sound.for radio, blinkers, seat belt, if your are going to hit something behind you, etc. This all happens randomly. Whether parked, driving on highway, streets or turning.the other problem which may not be related to above, is that even though allfour doors lockwhen you use the key fob, manually lock them or start driving the truck, one of the rear doors will open like it was never locked.

The contact owns a 2015 chevrolet silverado 2500. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle lost power and proceeded to roll out of control. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to reliable chevrolet (972-201-9240, located at 800 n. Central expy, richardson, tx 75080), but the cause of the failure could not be diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle performed as expected. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.

I bought this truck brand new. I started having problems about 2000 mi.the truck has a miss and jerks under load. It has been to the dealer twice and they tell me the computer doesn't show any trouble codes so there is nothing they can do. Also on occasion the ignition key is hot to the touch. Now i have to take it in again because the brake petal might fall off. What a great product...gm i think builds a lot of these problems in to save money without a care for the customer. Now i have to drive a $46,000 piece of crap thats broken. Our hands are tied and at the mercy of big business. Hope you can help.steve

The head lights on a dark rainy night are so poor it is a hazard to drive, if you meet another automobile just hold on and hope you do not hit each other, as you can't tell you are going to. I have had it back for repair but they tell me there is no fix for a chevy, if i had a gmc there is a fix. My radio will not work when its really cold out. My transmission shifts harshly and engine flutters between gears.when i slow down coming into town i feel a hard down shift, also if going slow and climbing a hill that is when it feels as if the engine has a small skip but it is the transmissionnot shifting into a lower gear. There is also no fix for poor shifting.

No crank no start service theft deterent system 7 times requiring tow to dealership have replaced keys, key fob , battery, fuse block, ground and positive wires , starter , reprogrammed truck multiple times , ruled out any electrical interference no aftermarket accessories,no phone chargers ect . Seems to be a guessing game dealership throwing parts at it . Sometimes after sitting for a week will miraculously and temporarily fix it self but never find problem . This problem is over a year old having towed again this morning 4/13/21 to buckalew chevrolet conroe tx. Truck drove fine to work parked for 12 hrs get in truck ..no crank no start service theft deterent system message on media screen of radio . Alternator, battery checked starter checked again all showing functioning within normal limits but truck won't start

When towing a 15,000 pound 5th wheel camper at highway speeds, the truck's trailer brake system and stabilitrac system will (without any warning) shut off, leaving the driver without any way to activate the trailer brakes. Neither system will re-activate without first stopping truck, shutting it off, unplugging the camper 7 pin, and then driving about a 1/2 mile.this issue first occurred at approximately 24,000 miles and continues to this day.the truck now has 44,000 miles.chevrolet has looked at the truck twice, but was unable to determine what the issue is.i have isolated the problem to occurring when i pass under certain low hanging high voltage power lines.there are two locations where the problem consistently occurs when i pass under the power lines in either direction.replicating the problem shouldn't be an issue.

The contact owns a 2015 chevrolet silverado 2500. The contact stated while driving 70 mph, the vehicle loss motive power and stalled and shifted into reduced power mode. The contact had the vehicle towed to the local dealer who inspected the vehicle and diagnosed the vehicle was a diesel exhaust fluid build-up which caused an extreme burn in the exhaust fluid. The dealer replaced the def system and exhaust lines to fix the vehicle however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 280,000.

The chevy ac compressor bolt broke before 48k miles while driving on a paved city street in san diego.this failure caused the condenser to also fail and both parts have to be replaced.the total bill for repairs is $2,150.31 and the copy of the invoices is submitted (exclude the fuel filter replacement costs as that was regular maintenance work).the ac compressor failure is caused by cheap parts and is a common problem for all gm products before 100k miles.this should be a recall item as it is a safety risk if the failure result in a vehicle fire or drive belt failure (stranded vehicle) or a loss of focus while driving.

There definitely a problem with the def & emission sensors on gm's duramax engines.4th time engine unexpectedly reduces engine power while traveling at highway speeds.results in sudden speed reduction which is extremely dangerous in almost any driving environment.these "reduced engine power" modes related to monitoring diesel emissions will get someone injured or killed (if it hasn't already)

Stock low beam headlights are so dim and have a sharp cutoff line that it is nearly impossible to see driving at night . I want to be able to see the lines when im driving and cars coming the other way, but it is almost impossible if road is dark and cars coming other way. Please find a stock 2015 chevy 2500hd work truck and check low beam. High beams are wonderful, but can't drice with them on, although looking at every other car on road and how bright some are i probably can.

First complaint:the headlights of this vehicle are not vary good. To the point of being dangerous. When aimed high enough that i can see far enough as to not be over driving the headlights they blind on-coming traffic. When aimed low enough that they do not blind other drivers, (this was the factor setting) i can not see far enough for the vehicle to be safe at freeway speeds.the headlight output is dim, and the light is not well controlled.the lights are also positioned to high in the vehicle, and this causes a large part of the problem.this is concerning the low beam headlights only. Second complaint:the optional tow/ camper mirrors have vary bright red turn signal lights in them. They are overly bright to the driver and make lane changes difficult at night as they blind you when you look at the mirror.this is a big safety concern to me, as this makes seeing what is next to the truck vary hard at dawn and dusk. Thank you.

On march 21, 2014 i purchased a brand new 2015 chevrolet 2500 hd diesel truck at a cost of $ 62,500.i have had an issue with the lights on this truck from day one. This vehicle is not safe to drive at night especially if it is raining.the headlamps on dim do not produce enough light to see more than 100 yards in front of the vehicle.there is no light projected to the side making it extremely dangerous when making turns, especially left hand turns.i have taken this vehicle to chevrolet dealerships on several occasions, but they could not correct the problem.i contacted chevrolet customer service and was advised that the lights were performing as designed.i am not satisfied with this answer.although they offered me a $ 2000 discount on a new gm vehicle, i am not willing to take the depreciation to purchase another vehicle to get rid of a problem that is not my fault.there are numerous reports on the internet of this same lighting issue.not only is this problem a hazard to myself and family, but others on the highway.i'm not asking them for a new $ 62,500 vehicle, i just want mine fixed.i would appreciate any help you can give me on this matter.thanks

The headlights border on un-safe.

I bought a 2015 chevy silverado 2500 hd last year and have contacted the dealer several times concerning thevisibility of these headlights.i live in a rural area with few street lights and rely on these lights to see.there is not enough light shining to see clearly and if it's raining, the visibility is nil.i owned the same type vehicle in 2005 and had no problems with the lights, my subaru has brighter light pattern than my truck! i contacted the chevy customer rep on 8/17 and explained my concern. He said that the lights are designed to work that way and they aren't making changes unless there are more complaints. He said he was sorry but there is nothing he can do. I believe this is a safety issue for those who travel on poorly lit roads and is an accident waiting to happen.

The low beam lights are very dim.i'munable to see more than 20' in front of the the truck.chevy said the headlights were updated but that didn't help.i've hit several obstacles in the road because i simply couldnt see it.i've had previous generations of this model and this is by far the worst headlight setup. I've read thousands of online posts about this problem on various forums,so appearentlythis is a common problem. This is a problem while moving.the darker the roadway the worse the problembecomes. Thanks

The contact owns a 2015 chevrolet silverado 2500the contact stated that while operating the vehicle with the head lights in the on positionthe projected light field was too narrow causing a visibility hazard for the driver. The contact indicated that the failure was present while using both the low and high beam lights. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100. The vin was not available. Updated 02/03/17*ljvin availableupdated 7/13/18

You can't see up the road with out high beams on the low beam projector beams it doesn't shine far enough up the road and if you are going down hill it's alot worse

The trailer brake it been miss up and ever body i talk that has the same year model and everything like my truck has had this problem it keep my log down it think it has a trailer on it at all time

Fuel line leak.two steel fuel lines were rubbing against each other causing a fuel leak.this is a dieselpick up and the fuel system is reported at 28,000 psi operation pressure.this resulted in a leak of diesel fuel that sprayed onto the exhaust system, which can reach temperatures in excess of 1400f causing a fire hazard.the problem manifested as a strong raw fuel smell in the cab causing an inhalation hazard.this was followed by small stains in my parking spot.the smell was not evident when in motion on the highway only when stopped and running.repairs were made by casper gmc dealer in casper, wy replacing the fuel lines.there is no buffer (such as a teflon bushing) to insulate such effects.

While driving on the interstate, we came to a stop at a gas station. When at a complete stop we started smelling diesel fuel, i assessed the vehicle under the hood and under the truck. It was raining that day so i couldn't tell if anything was leaking from the under carriage. While driving the remaining two hours of our trip, off the interstate, we came to a red-light, while making the right turn the truck got sideways in the intersection. Continuing the trip and almost home we were on a highway going 65mph, the truck got sideways and lost traction again. Concerned because i have my wife and 15 month old in the truck, i pull over again to assess the truck. At this point felt of the tires and they had a oily substance on them, causing the truck to not have any traction in the rain, i also seen a substantial amount of fuel leaking from around the transmission. The next day i took it to the dealership to get looked at. They informed me that the high pressure fuel pipes had a severe fuel leak from the connectors. They also informed me that there were no recalls open on the vehicle. So they are wanting to charge me over $1,300 to repair this, when i feel like this is a huge safety issue caused by a lack of quality assurance and control. Also i am fairly certain that this use to be a recall, and the dealership said that there are no open recalls on my vehicle. I feel like there should be a recall on this issue asap, before it kills someone.

Fuel gauge measures empty causing danger of running out of diesel on highway. Even after complete fuel up, the dashboard needle and electronic readers is still marking empty. There has been a previous recall on this on previous models. My 2015 only has 60k miles and it sensors or floaters are not working. Very dangerous to run out of fuel when towing on highway.

Def tank heater failure.restricting speed. Dangerous on highway and trips. Def fluid restrictions because of soot build up.

While driving, the vehicle stuttered and skipped down the road.when i came to a stop the truck it would never turn on again. The truck was having what's called a crank no start problem where it would crank over, but not start. This is a failure of a cp4 pump that is considered the wrong part and common knowledge failure to chevorlet and is extremely expensive to fix.

The def fluid indicater is stuck at 24%, there are many instances on the internet of the same vehicle with the same problem, some dealers fix for free with a simplesoftware upgrade, other like mine want to charge me diagnostics and mechanics time running into a couple hundred dollars, with so many vehicles having this and gm won't do anything about it, been on the phone to gm several time with no help. With this stuck at 24% you could run low on def fluid and not know it and the truck will lose power and not let you go faster than 5 miles an hour. Which could cause many safety issues. There even is a tsb on this and how to fix, but if your out of warranty it's my cost. 22214 bulletin pip4884q c/s

The vehicle had a handicapped driver conversion, with a gull-wing driver's door.the driver's door was only held closed with a magnet at the front of the door opening. There was not a latch to actually hold the door closed. In the accident, the truck was traveling at a high rate of speed on a gravel road. The roadway sharply descended to a low-water bridge, which caused the truck to elevate and leave the roadway. When the truck returned to the road, the magnet holding the driver's door failed, the driver's door popped open, and the driver was ejected 80 feet. The driver is now quadriplegic, suffering a c6-7 spinal cord injury, and a traumatic brain injury. The photo files illustrate that the driver's door was ripped off because it was opened, and the passenger doors were locked completely shut. *dt *dt *dt *dtconsumer stated they did not contact the conversion company, conversion is a faulty design. When traveling down the road, and encountered a bump, the driver's door would "bounce", and mostof the time the road was visible through the bottom of thedoor. Vehicle was a total loss. *dt *dt*dt*dt*dt *dl

Transmission problem

The contact owns a 2015 chevrolet silverado 2500. While driving 65 mph, the rpms increased without warning. The contact stated that the vehicle remained in third gear and failed to downshift. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission gear would not change correctly. The dealer (sunrise chevrolet buick gmc at collierville, 4605 s houston levee rd, collierville, tn 38017, (888) 484-2878) was contacted to schedule a second diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 71,000.

June 24, 2015safe car.govon august 14, 2014, i purchased a 2015 chevrolet silverado 2500 (102449) on june 30, 2014 at selman chevrolet (1800 east chapman, orange california, 92867 (714-633-3521). Approximately 3 months later, i noticed rust on the painted frame of the truck. I have purchased 5 chevrolet's since 2001 and have never had any rust issues. As i began to look throughout the undercarriage of the truck, i noticed rust on all exposed metal as well as on the painted metal. What concerned me right a way was the amount of rust on the drive shaft and on the transmission? i contacted my sale person [xxx] and explained what i had found. He advised me that didn't make any sense and asked me to bring the vehicle in. On february 19, 2015, i brought the vehicle in for its first maintenance. Service employee [xxx] handled the service. I explained to him about the rust underneath the vehicle. He looked under the truck and stated "that's excessive. Let me get a manager to take a look at this."[xxx] left and returned with [xxx], service manager. Before chuck even looked under the vehicle, he explained that rust was very normal. I explained to chuck that i had owned multiple chevrolet's and none had rust on them. I explained my concern that rust takes down the value of a vehicle greatly and in california, we don't have weather associated with rust, especially on brand new cars.it evident that selman chevrolet only concern is to sell vehicles and not attempt to rectify an issue with one of their vehicles they sold. As for a solution regarding this, they could have offered to undercoat the vehicle, pay to have it done or replace it.if there is additional information needed please contact me at the below phone number or by email. Was on a trip and the engine light came on, we stopped and checked everything and came up with nothing. Took it to the garage and was told they put it on the machine and it came up the transmission, the garage pulled the transmission pan and said it had metal shavings in the pan. It has 64,000 on it and they say there is no warranty and we are pretty sure we bought an extended warranty but papers are in the truck which we don't have access to- either way it should be covered whether or not we have a warranty which they say expired in march. The truck has no signs of transmission failure. It is at the garage getting a new transmission in it which is 4600, which i feel we should get some kind of reimbursement since it should be covered. The garage has the truck and we don't have the paperwork yet-this is also the dealership where we purchased the truck.

While driving on cruise control around 70 mph my check engine light came on.about 20 seconds later an alarm sounded and a message in my dash saying transmission fluid hot and to idle engine immediately.i immediately pulled over and called the dealership where i purchased it and had all services.although the service representative i spoke with said it probably was just a sensor, i elected to have the vehicle towed to the dealership for repairs. The next day the same service representative advised me that my torque converter went out causing my front pump and transmission module to go out and i needed a new transmission assembly.my vehicle has 43,000 miles and i rarely tow a 3,000 lb boat.i was then told my 5 year 60,000 mile warranty expired 26 days prior to this issue.after researching, i found that this appears to be a problem with the 1500s.the dealership is charging $6,100 and gm is only willing to cover $1,800.

My truck has been shifting into neutral when i am accelerating and the only way i have been able to get it out of neutral is to manually shift the truck into neutral and then back into drive. This can be very dangerous for me because i could be easily rear ended at a stoplight. This has been happening for a few days now. I just bought the truck and it only has 51000 miles.

Truck has 120,000 miles and on the way home from shopping all the sudden my truck wouldn't shift pass 3 rpm's and barley made it the hill. After stopping twice to let the truck rest i made it home. The dtc code was p0796 pressure control solenoid 'c' performance or stuck off obd-ii trouble code. Several other reports are found with the same issue some believe it's the torque converter. I really use to stand behind gm but my disappointment on this expensive truck has really changed my opinion.

My truck has a steering issue while under normal driving lots of play on steering with a seriousshaking from steering wheel and steering column moves when u push it up or down or side to side also when driving under normal conditions truck is shaking alot and bottom out with a humming sound from front end closer to left and right tire now when braking under normal driving to a complete stop i feel like i been hit from the rear of my truck .my truck has 51000 miles and i been trying to have my truck fix several times with chevy corporate and no outcome with the dealers thery provided quoted therefore we do not repair desiel trucks and i have no desiel tech ...please help me fix my truck..

Rear seat belts no longer retract back into up position causing a safety issue for my kids. Started with one then the other rear seat belt became inoperable. Went to local gm dealer and was told it wasn't covered under warranty (reed chevrolet in st joseph mo) i'm not able to haul my kids around in my truck causing an inconvenience.

The contact owns a 2015 chevrolet silverado 2500. While the contact's vehicle was stationary, a second vehicle traveling approximately 40 mph crashed into the rear of the contact's vehicle. During the crash, the driver and passenger side panel air bags did not deploy. The contact indicated that the air bag panels on both sides had separated. Smoke appeared from the air bag panels, but the air bags remained in position and did not deploy. After the incident, the seat belts were inoperable due to the air bag failure. A police report was filed and there were no injuries. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 58,000.

Snow on the road slid off in the ditch no impact with anything was coming back out of ditch airbags deployed truck shut off.

Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact owns a 2015 chevrolet silverado 2500. The contact stated that the seat belt chime failed to sound when the front passenger seat was occupied. The contact was concerned for the safety of the front passenger. The vehicle was taken to grey chevrolet (located at 4949 sw hovde rd, port orchard, wa 98367) where it was determined that the vehicle was manufactured that way and was not required to have the seat belt chime. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called the manufacturer and was also informed that the vehicle was not required to have the seat belt chime. The contact was provided with case number: [xxx]. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

While towing, break warning light came on. Had no trailer breaks and had to stop pull off road. Shut down as per manuel and restart. That corrected the problem.this could have been a serious issue if we had been on a steep downhill grade!

The contact owns a 2015 chevrolet silverado 2500. While reversing the vehicle, the brakes malfunctioned. The contact had to stand on the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. 2015 chevy silverado 2500 hdvin # (xxxx)purchase my truck new in 2015. The truck now has 14,400 miles on it. I notice a few weeks ago that the brakes didn't feel right. I pulled the wheels and noticed that the rotors were grooved and excessive rust build up. Two of the brake pads were worn down to the metal (one in the front and one in the rear). I pulled the rotors and took them over to be turned down. The mechanic at the garage told me that they could not be turned. Reason being that some outer metal was worn down to a softer metal and could not be turned down. I replaced 4 rotors and pads and the two front calipers, the rear calipers seem to be ok.then i went over to the local cevy dealer to see if there was a recall on the brakes for this problem. They said no the reason given is that they don't guarantee against rust. While researching this on the internet, i discovered that its just not my year vehicle 2015 having this problem but goes back to 2000.how can you say that this is not a safety issue and not have a recall for it. And by the way my truck is kept in my garage all the time.

While making a slow speed right turn, 5 mph, after stopping at a busy city street intersection, the power steering turned off and i nearly struck another car coming from the opposite direction because i was unable to turn my vehicle out of the way even when i used all my strength to turn. I have experienced this problem intermittently, always while attempting a right turn at slow speeds. It has happened mostly on city streets and while attempting to make a tight, right turn into parking stalls. The problem was reported to my local chevrolet dealer but, they were unable to replicate the problem and stated they could not fix it for that reason in june 2019. I returned the truck to the dealership today, 7/1/2019, for another attempt to repair. Waiting for a resolution. This truck has 100,000 miles on it.## vin passed ## chevrolet silverado 2500 hd 2015 ##

My vehicle loses power steering at low speeds and i have almost had four accidents.my incidents have happened in two parking lots and two times as i pull out at busy intersections. Research on the web indicates my vehicle is experiencing the same issue as with the 2014 truck recall for power ateering failures.

Steering column is loose and bobbles and commonly discussed in many online forums. It is a common pproblem yet not recognized by general motors.i have called dealer and gm with no recognition of problem.it is constant during use especially while driving slow on gravel road.

Slop in the steering wheel.

Lose power steering when making right hand turns as very low speeds. Issue has been periodic and on going.

My 2015 silverado 2500hd pick up's power steering occasionally stops working all together at low speed right hand turns. The latest incident was last night at 116390 miles i was turning off the main road into a gas station and i came very close to hitting a car that was exiting at the same 2 lane exit/entrance.scarry!!

Losing power steering at low speed turns. Has almost caused several accidents.

While driving & trying to turn steering to the right , the steering just locks as if no power steering. This does not happen all the time but when it does it is very dangerous. The vehicle has 40.000 miles on it & i didnt expect to have a safety issue like this.i had taken it to a dealer & they tell me it will be very expensive to fix.

Loose power steering assist briefly on low speed turns this has happened 3 or 4 times over 60k miles did not think much of it until i saw recall of 2014 models

My silverado was originally sold and registered in canada. It was exported to the us and i purchased it in july 2019. Recently my rear window defogger has failed to function and i found that canada hadrecall for this reason and i'm very concerned about possible fire or exploding glass on my truck. Good morning mr. Hunt, thank you for contacting transport canada's recalls division.in reviewing the recall and discussing the matter with general motors canada, they have clarified that recall n192220470 does involve 2015-2019 model year silverado hd models. In reviewing the provided vehicle indentification number, it appears as though this vehicle no longer resides in canada. Registration history shows that it was previously exported out of the country prior to this recall being issued. This is the reasoning why your vin number is not included within this recall. Gm's n192220470 recall (transport canada recall #2019-325) was issued in june 2019, and only applies to vehicles that are registered and operated in canada. Due to environmental climate and failure rates, this recall is exclusive to canada, and was not issued in the united states. However, to address vehicles that are operated and registered in similar climates, 'cold states' in the united states, general motors usa issued a voluntary region specific customer satisfaction program (n192265660). To find out if your vehicle is applicable to this customer satisfaction program, you would have to call general motors usa with your vin number. Furthermore, if you are experiencing a similar failure, and feel your safety is at risk, we would recommend contacting and logging a complaint with our united states counterparts, sincerely, recalls division / multi-modal and road safety programstransport canada / government of canada

I purchased a 2015 chevy 2500 silverado ltz black new.the paint is starting to check and bubble on the truck. The hood is the worst so far but u can see it's starting on every panel on truck.the truck has barely 50,000 miles , has always been garaged, and babied. I took it to the chevy dealership and say they won't do anything because it over 3 year 36000 mile corrosion warranty. I've been a chevy truck driver for 25 yearsi will soon be driving another brand and will be showing and telling people how they back the product. Very disappointed!

Had a vibration problem with this 2015 silverado 2500hd since new sept. 2015 at differing speeds, felt in the seat and center console.vibration is on city streets, highways, all roads. Center console has a very noticeable shake to it. Vibration at times is moderate, at other times more severe. At 2500 miles brought to gwatney chevrolet in jacksonville, ar.three goodyear tires replaced, road forced balanced.at 11,000 miles brought to gwatney chevrolet two more goodyear tires replaced, road forced balanced.in gwatney notes, it took nine tires to find two good tires to put on my truck.at 18,000 miles returned to gwatney chevrolet, service manager stated the problem was the tires and i would have to pay a portion of the cost.my response was i shouldn't have to pay for a problem that the truck had since it was new.the service manager was hostile, argumentative and refused to do any more work on the truck.i complained to gm customer care, they wanted to give me $100 and close the case.i escalated my complaint to the gm executive level, they appear to be more accommodating, they stated they are going to have a gm technical assistance team look at my problem.right now, i'm awaiting further response from gm.

The shark fin antenna leaks driver side. Which then caused water to drip down behind my dashboard /steering wheel area and electrical system. Water then dripped out where my emergency brake is located. Dripping on my foot and floor boards

Service rear vision system error

I have had the vehicle into the selling dealer several times for a bad vibration issue. The dealer finds a bad tire and replaces it and the problem goes away for a few thousand miles and then is repeated again and again. The last time i took it in for an oil change and tire rotation and when i got it back it had a very bad vibration at highway speeds. The dealer has put identical tires and rims from a new truck on the lot but didn't fix the vibration.the dealer replaced the gears in the rear axle that didn't fix the vibration. The dealer replaced the rear bearings and hub assembly that didn't fix the vibration. The dealer tried to put different size rims and different brand of tires on that didn't fix the vibration. Now the dealer is telling me that gm will not do anymore and says the truck is within specs. I can no long drive this vehicle on the highway as it causes me to get headaches and become dizzy while driving.

Emission computer system issue: while pulling a 5th wheel rv through the mountains of new mexico three emission codes came up on the truck as we climbed a hill.one of the codes related to turbocharger emissions.as we climbed the truck automatically went into low power mode and basically shutdown.we tried to pull the vehicle off the road but were unable to totally do so.we were stuck on a hill with the 5th wheel in a position where we could have been hit by traffic in an area with no cell or other services. As i carry a code reader in the truck, i quickly pulled up the codes and was able to delete them and get the truck back off the road (this is why i don't have the exact codes) the truck never through another code for the next 2,000 mile and to this day has not thrown any further codes.this is not the first time this has occurred.the safety issue related to the computer immediately shutting down the truck for emission reasons? it is my understanding that it should provide a warning that it will shut down in a certain amount of miles. It provided no warning and put us in a position with major safety implications. There should be nothing that should shut down any engine without a proper notification.

Paint is extremely fragile, it's ridiculous actually. It scratches and chips by just by touching it. I've never seen a factory paint job look so horrible in such a short period of time. It literally looks horrible after a 18 months and is extremly difficult to get a deep shine even with polish, wax, etc. Chips are starting to show up all over the vehicle and slight pits are now showing up. The clear coat extremely thin to non-existent. I was extremely surprised to not find a recall at this point based on all the web chatter and what i'm seeing on my truck.

Driving 20 mph, on a flat surface, no oncoming traffic, my rear window spontaneously shattered. I stopped the truck to get out and look at it, and cant figure out what happened. Took the truck to the local chevy dealer and told them what happened, with no luck. Went to safelite and they said they get alot of similar vehicles with the same issue. Nothing hit the window, nothing touched the window and there was no previous damage to the window. Just blew outward on its own.

As i took my vehicle for a front windshield replacement the window tech took me out to the shop to show me the problem. The front window was on top of the lower cowl seal and the window was a an original window the crack came from the window being on top of the cowl

Remote started my vehicle and after about 8 minutes inserted ignition key and began driving at less than 10 to 12 mph.within 2 to 3 minutes began to notice sparks and smoke from the back seat area and immediately pulled over with car still running.upon inspection found window defroster sparking and emitting smoke.front passenger turned off rear defroster and fire / smoke / sparking stopped. Defroster was on because vehicle had remote started and not by operator action.i'm effort to get smoke out - briefly opened rear slider and upon closing a couple seconds later rear passenger tempered defrost glass cracked. 2015 chevrolet silverado 2500 hd . During a recent trip to southern indiana while towing rv we encountered a heavy rain, not as heavy as a normal florida heavy rain, the wipers on full . Could not clear the windshield enough to see anything during mid day. This happen on a two lane state road, where thankfully no traffic either way, if this had been on the interstate hwy. We just exited 10 minutes earlier, this would have been fatal. Nether i and my wife could not see anything at all, i had to look out the window to have any visibility at all. Thereis a windshield or wiper design problem here. If it was not for my 2 million mile truckexperiencei most likely would not be making this report. Had this been an inexperienced driver in most likely would have been fatal. I also own a 2000 chevy silverado. I have driven this truck to florida every year in some real rain storms, that make these midwest storms look like spring showers, and never once unable to see during real heavy storm day or night. Now i will hold on to my old truck till this defect is corrected. Please take this seriously, i fear driving when rain forecast at night. I have never side lined my semi for weather even in total white out snow storms which icould see better than a little rain on the windshield of this 2015 chevy.thank you sincerely[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
