Winter driving on highway fairly clear road and while driving at speed the service airbag system message and airbag light came on the dash. Clearing system did not clear code or lights. Key cycles did not clear the problem. We replaced the front impact sensor and the system clear automatically. The sensor was not corroded or damaged yet failed during winter yuck while driving. Close inspection showed a crack around the mounting hole possibly due to water freezing in the bolt hole as the plastic case has a very thin portion and shows a crack. The bolt mounting hole has a metal spacer to keep from crushing the sensor case during mounting.these sensors are failing for no reason and gm needs to fix this reoccurring issue as the sensors are not cheap and could cause the airbag system to fail at a critical time or possibly set off the airbag for no reason making it a very costly repair not to mention a possible uncalled for accident.at $200 gm should replace these sensors under warranty. Aftermarket sensors are available and cost half of gm.

The dash around the air bag has formed a crack and upon deployment of the air bag could result in sharp plastic breaking off and hitting passengers. Along with the sharp plastic it could result in the rupture of the airbag and could result in a passenger death. This is a common problem on gm dashes from 2007.5-2013. Gm will not own up to the problem and it needs to be taken care of. There is a facebook page with over 6000 people with the same problem.https://www.facebook.com/groups/gmdashcrack/?fref=nf

The dashboard around the passenger air bag has cracked along the upper left outline of the air bag and the crack has ran into the air bag seam. Also on the opposite side, the dashboard has also cracked in a similar way around the instrument cluster. This crack is getting longer and running towards the air vent. I am concerned that the integrity of the air bag has been compromised and that a possibleimpact may cause flying pieces of plastic on both driver and passenger.

I have a 2008 silverado in showroom condition. It has 109k miles and has been a great truck. Over the last 24 months i have noticed cracks appearing in the dash. Eventually they got so bad that they stretched all the way across the top of my dash including the area around the air bag. I receivedan airbag recall and i showed the dealer the cracking. I explained my concern that if the airbag deployed it would cause plastic shrapnel to fly into the cab of the truck. The dealer said my truck was out of warranty and that it would cost close to $8000 to completely change the dash which they told me was the only option. I called chevy corporate and spoke with a chevy representative and got basically the same answer. I asked what they were going to do when an accident occurs where someone is seriously injured or killed by the broken plastic flying through the cab. The representative refused to answer me.

Takata recall.i contacted general motors as well as a local gm dealer and neither were able to provide me any info on the status of the recall.it has been 18 month since i was notified about the problem.general motors seems to be dragging their feet and i want results.i ask for a temporary vehicle to drive until mine was repaired but was denied by gm.

I have a 2008 silverado 2500hd with 48,000 miles on it and just noticed two cracks have formed above the passenger airbag. Even though the warranty has expired i feel this is a manufacturing defect and should be replaced by chevrolet at no charge. The vehicle has always been stored sun protected except when traveling. At that time a dash screen is used for sun protection.i contacted the chevrolet customer assistance center immediately and they had me take my vehicle to a chevrolet dealer for examination. I had my vehicle examined at the chevrolet dealership on march 21, 2016. They examined the vehicle, took photos and told me they would get back to me with the decision. They did so later that day but the decision was to replace the dash which would be $1000.00 of which gm would be willing to pick up half, so my out of pocket expense would be $500.00. I refused this offer and told the dealer i would be contacting the chevrolet customer assistance center to dispute me having to pay $500.00 out of pocket expense to correct a manufacturers defect. I contacted the chevrolet customer assistance center immediately via phone and asked that the issue be elevated to the appropriate person. I provided the representative all the information she requested from me and she assured me that she would elevate the issue to the senior manager in my area and they would get back to me within 48 hours with a decision. As of this writing i have not heard back from anyone. This is a safety issue. If the airbag on he passengers side were to deploy it would sent plastic shrapnel into the driver causing severe injury. I know this to be a fact because i worked on airbag technology back in the 80's and saw videos of what occurs upon airbag deployment when particles are sent flying. Think of a straw being driven into a tree during a tornado. Same principle.

Takata recall what follows is my original complaint against autonation/ general motors that as of today january 16, 2016 has not been resolved or have they delivered truck. Still can not answers from either company when they will deliver it, if part is coming, if they have the part, or if they can just replace with another part. They have not been helpful and i am still awaiting to see if they will even give me a loaner vehicle. This has taken weeks for an answer. So as you can see i have owned this vehicle for a month and have not even had at my house or driven it. Or do they have answers to when this recall will be fixed. I have filed bbb complaints against both no response from autonation and general motors only response was a jumble of fancy terms but did not addressed issue of if have part, when will get part or can they replace with another part to this complaint. No response from customer care at autonation email sent and no answers period from either company to when truck will be repaired.2008 chevrolet silverado on dec. 16 2015 from auto nation chevrolet security blvd 6633 security blvd baltimore md . After paying for vehicle they state has recall needs fixed that was issued june 4, 2015) and that they will have it fixed by thursday morning dec. 17, 2015 and truck delivered . As of 1/ 2016 no truck or as to when fixed except to say it would affect something with the gm certification. They were aware of this before vehicle was sold. However they sold anyway and still have truck and my money. Status says incomplete remedy not available on gm recall center. No sure how they could sell this vehicle recall if aware of recall. General manager/saleman do not keep in touch as promised dennis and mike general manager. Get the run around with no answers and them not returning my calls..

Takata air bag.i received a notice for recall on my thruck air bag over a year ago, i have contacted gm twice on the replacement, they keep telling me that as soon as they have a replacement they will notify me however it has bee over a year and they still have not given me a set date for replacement. I do not feel safe diving this truck under these conditions. I feel that having received the notice over a year ago enough time has passed that i should have had this taken care of. I feel they are replacing newer model vehicles before older ones and should be doing such according to date of purchase not according to which are newer. Any assistance you can provide in this matter is greatly appreciated.

My dash has cracked in multiple locations including the airbag surround.shards of the dash have now begun to break off - clear indication of an unsafe condition.should the airbag deploy shards of the shattering dash could rupture the airbag or worse strike and impale the occupants of the vehicle.this is an unsafe condition.i am in the aircraft maintenance business and the faa and ntsb would never allow such anobvious hazard in an aircraft.my dash started cracking years ago and despite stop drilling the cracks as we do in aircraft maintenance on lexan transparencies the cheap plastic the dash is made from continues to propagate new and bigger cracks.attempts to use a plastic welding repair kit also failed.a recall to address this dangerous condition is way past due.

My dashboard has cracked around the passenger's airbag.there was no indecent that caused the crack - i just got in the truck one day and noticed a small crack.over the past year it has progressively gotten worse to the point that i am concerned that it is a safety issue. The dashboard also has a large crack on the driver's side but my greatest concern is the danger presented by an airbag deployment that could easily send shards of sharp plastic shrapnel into the face of my passenger or that it could damage the airbag and prevent it from functioning properly. It has always been my understanding that dashboards were padded as a safety feature to protect the occupants in the event of a wreck.somehow the safety administration has allowed gm to get away with installing dangerous, brittle, cheap plastic dashboards the are prone to cracking - a problem the manufacturer is well aware of according to my dealer.it is a failure of our consumer safety agency to allow this to continue and a recall to fix this dangerous condition is in order and should be required right away.how takata airbag manufacturer can be required to recall millions of airbag parts butgm is allowed to get away with this is inexcusable.

Power door locks fail to lock or unlock when warm. Door lock actuators have been replaced previously and now again thy are failing. Leaving the door unlocked after remote locking and unable to unlock the door when needed, including in an emergency situation you are stuck inside unless you can reach to manually unlock the door. This is an unsafe condition and should recall these failing actuators just like the failing transmission lines they won't recall them but they did extend a warranty repair for 10 years. Gm do the right thing and issue the same extended repair warranty before someone is killed due to unable to unlock vehicle in an emergency.66,000 miles and second set of door lock actuators and windows switches. These are possibly failing from all the water the door window seals let inside the doors. Had all the window switches replaced previously as well. Locks sometimes will work once but fail after that, also in a sunny hot day they fail 100% to unlock. Key sets off alarm so you have to unlock via keyfob and then unlock with physical key. Not real convenient. To lock you have to walk around and physically lock each door that failed to lock and then lock with keyfob to set alarm.

Duramax lmm diesel engine had all 8 glow plugs fail one at a time. Replacement glow plugs from gm have a higher voltage rating on them indicating gm was aware these will all fail in time.the original glow plugs voltage rating made the engine start quicker less turnovers at the expense of the owner who had to replace all the original glow plus as thy failed after the warranty period. Few failed during warrant as other reported and most failed months to years after the warranty.in m case they all failed at year 7 of owning the truck and all failed open due to this over voltage that gm corrected in the replacement glow plug. Repair was not cheap and could leave you stranded as the glow plugs fail and are needed to start a cold motor in a cold climate.gm should replace or reimburse owners for these know to fail glow plugs.original glow plug voltage rating 4.72v, replacement glow plug rating 4.85v. Defective glow plugs causes check engine light to come on and sets pcm codes as well as hard starting and excessive cranking to start. Upon start engine could be very rough as it runs without the cylinder that has the failed glow plugs.

Vehicle failed to start.only chevy factory installed alarm would sound for approx 5 minutes.still would not start.towed to dealer - and confirmed at drop time that the vehicle did not start.dealer cleared codes and vehicle started.driving on freeway onramp (curve onramp) and all gauges dropped to zero.taken into dealer approx 4 times from 3/24 to may 2011.per dealer we are not allowed to bring the vehicle back to the dealer for any repairs.

On my 2008 chevy k2500, i have a factory installed brake controller for my 5th wheel trailer. The problem is that if the abs light comes it shuts power to the trailer. G m built it this way and won"t answer my complaint though bartow chevy. Each time its been front wheel sensor. Not my trailer brakes. Iam going down the road with 13000# behind me with no brakes. Dealer has notified them twice, with no reply.

Major leaking problem coming from the area of the oil filter.. Believe to be something with the oil cooler.this truck only has 40k on it and has never been abused and garage kept all its live... I feel like i have bought a talked vehicle and after paying 50k plus a heavy interest charge over the course of 7 years i feel like this vehicle is going to fail on me while driving and possibly injure me , my family or worst yet some innocent person.. Gm needs to get there stuff together and get these same repetitive problems fixed on these trucks because its the same issues over and over and over again dating back to the early 2000's.... You never see this problem in the toyota or nissan line ups.... Sad but never again will i buy a gm unless they get on the ball and get this stuff fixed.

First time i got headache and dizzy in 5/28/2010 doctor put me in hospital over night and found nothing did not know it was carbon monoxide poisoning and to test blood. Had exhaust leak fixed by dealer ship on 7/02/2010 coworker said he could smell exhaust in cab that's why i took it in i could not smell it. I have had a lot of trouble with exhaust system filter light coming on with engine power reduced. Taking back to dealer ship.they said it needs to be put in regen mode manually, on 12/17 2012 is started to pass out on road doing 35mph started to loose vision, headache, dizzy felt like my heart pounding in my chest and that's not all more to list. But started go to doctors on my symptom's for over a month taking sick tome and vacation time.when i realized every time i got in my work truck it all started over again. So took back to dealer for exhaust leak and they said was leaking at turbo and down pipe. Said they fixed it by tighteningclamp. Got down the hwy 15 miles and started happening again. I rolled the windows down and drove home blood pressure 170/110 that's another thing it does. My boss took it in to a diesel truck specialist and they said the down pipe is cracked and leaking and advised to fix or drive it with the windows done. They started to send in all our local trucks to get tested and we found 5 trucks leaking. I'm sure there are a lot more out there.we had another guy crash his truck from passing out at the wheel before i found the defect in the truck.now the company knows why he crashed. This issue is in 2007 and 2008 models diesels.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 2500 diesel. The contact stated that carbon monoxide fumes were emitted into the vehicle through the vents. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 29,000.

Exhaust system cracked downpipe causing fumes to enter the cab.

On highway trying to accelerate, i got a reduced power message and light on dash... Which almost caused an accident. Contacted the dealership and they said bring it in. They replaced the mass air flow sensor. I have not got the message anymore but the truck does not accelerate like it use to. 2500hd duramax ... I am afraid if the issue happens again all costs will be out of pocket for me. I just went over 38k miles.

During the winter here in northern ohio i have been experiencing a reduced power mode in my chevy diesel powered truck.it has happened repeatedly, almost daily, and on friday, mar 20th, while driving on the freeway the truck unexpectedly went into this reduced power mode twice and dropped from 65 mph to less than 40 mph, almost causing a crash because of the sudden deceleration in one instance.i have been to the dealership twice now over this issue, in both cases they said it was my aftermarket air intake product and it's supposed fouling of a key engine sensor, the maf sensor.they blamed oil from the air filter fouling the sensor, and yet the air filter was there and there was no sign of oil seepage or fouling of the sensor. Since then i have, at my expense, replaced the air intake system back to factory and the maf sensor, and all that was before friday when i almost got hit by a semitruck.i have researched the internet, consulted with two aftermarket air intake manufacturers and have determined that this issue is not what has been blamed to date but something else faulty on my truck.either in the wiring harness affecting sensor output or a different sensor that works in conjunction with the one sensor that the dtc says is at fault.there has been issued tsb's on this engine family relating to my issue, gmc is aware that there exists an issue, and yet i have to pay out of pocket for repairs and parts and labor for something that should have been resolved the first time under warranty.the dtc is p0102, maf sensor low input, the sensor i replaced looks identical to the one i put in, no signs of fouling.i even at one point purchased a maf sensor cleaner made by crc, used it according to directions and still got the dtc, the reduced power mode and a check engine light.the truck will resume normal operating after 15 to 20 minutes, but then will fault out again soon after or on the next restart.no issue last winter, even w/ the aftermarket air system.

The compact disc became stuck in the compact disc player but wouldfunction correctly in a different vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that they would contact him when they determined what caused the failure to occur. The vehicle had not been repaired when the complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000. The current mileage was approximately 37,912.

I have replaced transmission cooler lines twice (2 times), since purchasing this truck with 59k miles on it. Both times with ac delco parts. Both times the transmission cooler lines leaked, not an installation problem. 11/21/13- i first noticed it when driving at 25 mph picking up my kids from school, and i had transmission fluid spraying out from underneath my truck, causing it to smoke/smolder on my exhaust pipe. (transmission fluid is flammable). The crimp has separated from the hose. This is the first time i replaced with genuine gm parts.1/16-14- 2nd time was during the winter when the truck was warming up in the drive way and yet again the crimp was causing a leak, which dumped about a gallon of fluid on my driveway. (again transmission fluid is flammable)i replaced the lines one more time and i'm about fed up with the lack of help gm is giving.the current set of cooler lines on the truck are just now starting to drip so its only a matter of time before they give out again. The truck has very low miles and i meticulously maintained, this is a known gm problem on more than 1 model of vehicle and i am unsure why gm will not extend a warranty to these failed parts. My local gm service dept. Has refused to help me in any way, even though i have bought gm part every time.when will gm face the facts before one of these catches fire and someone dies????

2008 chevrolet silverado.consumer writes in regards to rubber portion of the fuel supply line kinks and reduces engine the fuel supply to the engine which causes the computer to reduce the power of the engine.the consumer statedwhile towing a fifth wheel rv and going up a mountain, the engine went into limp mode, which reduced the engine power. The consumer went from 45 mph to 30 mph almost instantly.the fuel line was replaced.

I have a 2008 chevrolet silverado diesel. I have incidents of burning smoke filling the cab. I took it to the dealer and they saidthis was a normal function of the emissions system. I contacted gm and they said the same thing and that i should learn to live with it. This happens with no warning it is distracting and disturbing when driving.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 2500. While operating the vehicle, the fuel gauge indicated that the fuel tank was empty. After filling the tank with fuel, the fuel gauge continued to indicate that the fuel tank was empty. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the fuel sending unit was faulty and needed to be replaced. The fuel sending unit was replaced, but the failure eventually recurred. The contact indicated that the fuel sending unit had to be replaced an additional two times since the initial failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The initial failure mileage was 60,000.

Vehicle has been stalling and losing trailer brakes. There is a recall on this but this particular truck did not fall in the recall. The trailer brake module on the frame rail of the truck was full of water. I has been replaced and all is good now. Could have been a very bad situation but was able to prevent an accident.

Bought 2500 hd crew cab silverado, 2008. Researched known problems online with door actuators. Apparently they begin to fail with less than 5000 miles on certain trucks. I see this as a safety hazard and a security problem. In case of a crash the locks on the rear doors will not work and must be unlocked manually which may be impossible depending on the damage, the manual locks are on the farthest point back from the driver which makes them very hard to reach from the front of the truck. They also do not lock when the key fob or electric lock button is pushed in the truck, must be locked manually. This problem is extremely well known and gm refuses to recall this item even though it is a clear safety risk. If i have a fire or an accident i would not be able to get my daughter out of the back of the truck and gm would be getting one hell of a lawsuit. Likewise if anything gets stolen out of my truck due to the locks not working i will also be starting a lawsuit against gm. Every manufacturer wants to get ever penny they can out of people without taking responsibility for hiring the lowest bidder for crucial parts on their vehicles and then refuses to stand behind them. Some people i have talked to have replaced these door actuators 4+ times all the way around their vehicle. Unacceptable.

2008 chevrolet truck.consumer writes in regards to vehicle door lock problems.the consumer stated the driver's side front door and left rear door would not lock or unlock. The lock and latch needed to be replaced.

I took my truck to a repair facility, to have a leak repaired, at the rear of the transfer case.the mechanic thought the rear seal was leaking, so he repaired that.once the rear seal repair was made, the mechanic discovered there was still some leaking of transmission fluid.upon closer inspection, he found a hairline stress crack in the rear section of transfer case housing. The crack first ran perpendicular, then made a turn left (horizontal), toward top of where drive shaft enters.on sept. 03, 2014, a local chevrolet dealer took the order, for part no. 19125656cv, then on sept. 08th that same dealer advised the mechanic working on my truck that the part was on national back order, with no estimated date of when it would be available.i was almost forced to purchase a brand new complete transfer case assembly, for over $1,500.00, just to get my truck back on the road, again.common sense tells me, chevy must be having problems, with an awful lot of truck transfer case rear housing sections, in order to run completely out of spare parts; nationwide.i feel this leak could be a safety hazard, because once the transmission fluid runs out, the gears in the transfer case would probably seize up, causing the driver to lose control and crash.i feel a recall should be issued, for this problem and chevrolet should be forced to increase production of the repair part needed and have a supply of these parts on hand (nationwide).fortunately for me, my mechanic was able to find the repair part i needed in a junk yard.

Pictures attached - the defect was not visible from the outside looking at the drivetrain

After truck sits for a week or more, once started and put in reverse it will back out of garage very slowly when given fuel even at 3000rpm.the garage says to let it warm up should not have to do this.i think trans. Fluid oil is draining down and has to fill back up. Shouldnot have to do this.

This is a 2008 chevy silverado hd z71 4x4 well taken care of. And the transmission goes into limp mode on fast stops. This is extremely dangerous due to the fact that if a load is on board and it goes into limp mode this could be dangerous for all behind the vehicle and around. Which could be a threat to all unexpectedly causing undue harm to other while in control of this vehicle. And vehicle sends out a code.

Transmission fluid leaking from crimps where metal ends are attached to rubber hoses.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 2500.the contact stated that the transmission was leaking fluid and the vehicle would stall without warning.the dealer and the manufacturer were contacted, but denied any assistance with repairs to the vehicle.the vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 38,000 and the current mileage was 41,000.

My truck was diagnosed at the dealer with all of the transmission cooler lines leaking, at the crimps.nearly everyone i know that has a 2007-2009 has had the same issue.if undiagnosed, this could lead to transmission failure due to fluid loss, loss of pressure, etc.clearly a manufacturing defect, no diagnosis of cause due to elements or driver error, etc.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 2500. While the vehicle was parked in the driveway, it rolled backwards and crashed into a tree. The contact was caught between the driver's door and the running board. The contact sustained injuries to the knees and deep lacerations to the body and head, which required medical attention. A police report was filed and the vehicle was towed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000. The vin was not available.

My truck has 69,755 miles when the transmission went into protection mode.jerry smith garage of anacortes wa. Found loss of prime of fluid due to poss sticking lube regulator valve in pump cover.this was at cost of $5849.87i feel that this truck a 2500 heavy duty trany should lastlonger than 69,755 miles. It was being driven on the street

Transmission lines and other areas are leaking bad. They are leaking from all three hoses at the factory crimp.

2008 chevy silverado 2500, gas engine, 34,600 miles.transmission is having issues that dealer cannot seem to fix.new pump put into trannie, still having problems.usually happens in tow haul mode, hauling approx 5,000 lbs.transmission will not shift up, holds and revs to 3500 or 4000 rmp's.i take foot off gas and it bumps into gear.most often happens at 35mph and 55 mph.when slowing down transmission slams into lower gear and revs very high.at 55 mph on i-435 in kcmo during rush hour, trucks tires locked up and squealed when trannie down shifted.has a major issue between 30-40 mph.again, slams between gears throwing passengers forward (i don't want to think about how it is affecting the horses!)we are first and only owner of truck.truck treated very well, no off-roading or abuse. Sad that we are having this issue..... It doesn't even have 35,000 miles on it!!!!!

Automatic transmission lines 2008 chevy silverado with allison transmission.factory transmission lines leak and must be replaced.when the weather turns cold, the lines/crimps holding the rubber hose to the pipes fail and automatic transmissionfluid is lost, sometimes in catastrophicmanner, causing the vehicle to loose propulsion. Reports of failure are extremely common, and it is not unusual, that the lines may have been replaced 3 times within the 1st 50,000 miles.gm has issued 'new, updated' parts, but they are no better than the original parts.the new part numbers are 20759971,20759972, 20759973.wile repair is covered on the 36k bumper to bumper warranty, there is no coverage on the 100k warranty. Gm should replace the lines free of charge for the 1st 100k miles with a hose that will not fail. Consumers can take the original gm line to a hydraulic shop, have the rubber portion of the lines replaced with standard hydraulic hose suitable for atf fluid and there are no further failures. If consumers can fix the lines, perhaps gm can find a solution.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 2500 hd. The contact stated that the retractor on the driver side seat was broken. The dealer inspected the seat belt and stated that they had to replace the retractor. The seat belt was under warranty nor were there any related recalls. The contact was concerned the seat belt would not work in the event of a crash. The failure mileage was 38000 and the current mileage was 46000.updated 02/02/11

Drive side seat belt does not click together, therefore seat belt does not work all the time need to play with it for the seatbelt to connect and stay. This is a concern when the seat belt does not work.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 2500 hd. The contact stated the seat belt pulled back very fast and tight. When this occurred there was smoke coming from the seat belt re-tractor and from underneath the drivers seat. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that it was an inadvertent deployment of the seat belt pre-tensioner. The dealer contacted the manufacturer and was told not to work on the vehicle, because they were sending someone out to inspect the vehicle. The vehicle was not inspected. The failure and current mileages were 35,602.updated 06/06/11updated 1/19/2012 *ln

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle started to smoke while driving 10 mph. The warning indicator illuminated that the air bag was deployed. The vehicle was not in a crash and the air bag did not deploy when the incident occurred. The passenger was injured from the seat belt tightening on the shoulder. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but was not able to be diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 190,000.

I have a 2008 k2500 diesel. The vehicle is used strictly for camping and has only 24,000 miles. Over thanksgiving,i parked vehicle in an off road park. After 2 days parked, i started the truck and had no steering or brakes at all. This had happened several times before but not as bad. After a few minutes idling, steering and brakes came back to normal. I researched the web and found this to be a common problem. Gm has issued several tsbs on the subject and the claim it is "normal" on 2500 series trucks. Nhtsa has also chimed in with nhtsa id number: 10335581. I took the truck into william l. Morris chevrolet in simi valley, ca. The service writer ignored any of my research, the tsbs and the nhtsa info. Instead, they want me to pay $780 to replace the power steering pump, when gm says it is a normal condition. I believe one of 2 things - we have a serious problem that will eventually hurt someone or they are duping people into an unnecessary expense in replacing the pump.i am an mech engineer. I asked them to show me the results of the pressure test and they could/would not. I asked how they arrived at their conclusion and was told "years of experience". I have 14+ years of experience with hydraulic pumps and am quite sure the pump ias just fine - maybe underdriven but otherwise fine.

When applying the brakes hard going downhill at above 50 mph the steering wheels shimmies from side to side violently.easing off the brakes reduces the shimmying.this has been a continuous problem and it requires constant awareness when approaching a downhill roadway.also it occurs whenever a panic stop from greater then 55 mph is attempted.vehicle is a 2009 roadtrek model 190 popular and weighs close to 9600 lbs. Suspect the disc brakes may be warping under the heat or the abs system is at fault.

Backed truck out of garage had no power brakes nor power steering. As tow truck driver loaded vehicle on his flatbed truck to take it to the garage (under warranty) he put vehicle in reverse, had a slight brake application then he felt a clunk (vehicle jerked). Power steering & brakes started working normally. Garage could find nothing wrong.

My powering steering hoses runs too close to the turbo line and the hoses will wear through leaving you without any steering and any brakes. This should be a recall because this is a huge safety issue to people.

The dash is cracking on all 2007 up models of silverado and tahoe. I had sliced my fingerwhen reaching for my phone is how i found out. The issue is the sharp edges are right next to air bag. So now i am worried that if i do get into accident either the air bag will get punctured and or shards of razor sharp dash are you to cut me and possibly be very severe. Please just do a google search online and you will find thousands of these type issues with the dash. Please help the dealer is not doing anything for many people and now my wife is worried to even drive in truck that i cannot replace at this time.

My dashboard cracked at the corner of the air bag and appears there may be an issue with flying projectiles of plastic if the air ever deploys.

Dashboard cracking.while driving, i heard a loud pop. Later i sar the dashboard had cracked on two sides.the crack nearest the driver continues to grow.

Chrome plating/paint on interior door handle lacerated left hand.

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 2500. While parked, the contact attempted to open the front driver side door but to no avail. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician advised that the front driver side door actuator would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. After the repair, the rear driver side door would not open. The vehicle was taken to the dealer a second time. The technician advised that the rear driver side door actuator would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000.

Air bag recall and electrical issue

Entire frame of the truck is rusting away. Some areas is surface rust after the undercoating has just slow peaked away. There is some areas that the rust is so bad i am worried that it will soon or later give and break. I have looked into this online and there is thousands and thousands of complaints out there but gm is not doing anything about this issue.. I finally got a notice after 7 years of complaining about my transmission lines leaking at the crimp.. This is a very well know issue on many of the gmvehicles and has caused many accidents in the past.i would like to seen gm forced to pressed to do something about this because it is a safety factor that could cause a bad accident.

I have a broken dashboard right where the passenger air bag is located. Just had a recall done on the passenger air bag performed and the dealer reported to me that the broken dashboard was broken and could possibly be dangerous if the air bag displayed in an accident. I read online that this is a major problem and some dealers go 50/50 on this repair. I keep my truck in a garage and it isn't out in the eliments except when i'm driving it. I'm disabled and this my pride and joy. Is it safe to drive ????

The contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 2500 hd. The contact stated that the electronic door system failed. The doors should have been locked when the vehicle was shifted into drive and unlock when shifted into park. The contact stated that the doors could only be opened manually. The dealer advised the contact that the door actuators possibly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 80,000.

Like many other chevrolet silverado owners my dash is cracked in two places; one above the instrument cluster and the other right next to the passenger side airbag. What?s the most concerning to me is the crack next to the passenger side airbag, because if it ever deploys the shrapnel from broken dash will be deadly projectiles that can seriously injure or kill the occupants. This truck has only 54000 miles. I believe general motors should recall or compensate the owners of these defective trucks and suvs. The way it happened was when i got in my truck one day i had a crack and a week or two later, i had another. Another annoying part of is my truck is it is equipped with diesel engine with increased vibration and when the weather gets cold there is loud rattling or rubbing that resonates through the whole cab because of the cracks on the dash.

Sunroof has now leaked on me 3 times. Each time i have had to remove the entire inside headliner to get to the sunroof.. Hasn't leaked since the 3rd repair but i try and stay away from eh water and rain. Sad i feel bad about driving in the rain...

Cracked dashboard, several places dash is falling apart, large crack near gages, at air bag, and across front of gages.

Cracked dashboard once was replace. Paint crack. Door latch.

"takata recall " received recall notice several months agoand still no fix . 2 speakers all failed with in six years, 3 window switches all stopped workinghave pictures available , all quit while driving on a cold night with my 4 yr old in the back seat . Had to pull over and remove switch to short out and get window back up.4bed mounting rails and bed side all have rust. So not only did it rot out prematurely but the dealership that covered up the problem entered anaccident on the car fax for the bull crap repair they did on my vehicle .dealership is barlow located in manahawkin nj

Excessive rear tire pressure in tires on rear axle causes loss of traction and the rear end to skid out in wet conditions.80 psi is fine for heavy loads, but on a empty pick-up it causes a small tire contact service area.i have easily corrected the problem by reducing the rear tire psi to 50 psi which solves the problem and still is more than needed for a 2900 lb loadthe problem is this turns on the tpms light making it useless.i have seen more than one o these pick-ups loose controlandrollover as a result of this excessive tire psi on unloaded pick-up trucks that had 80 psi in them.

Dashboard cracked at corner of passenger airbag creating a safety hazard if passenger airbag deploys

My dash board has cracked all over.the vehilce is mostly parked under a car port.

My 2008 chevy silverado's dash is cracking prematurely. I have a low mileage, well maintained vehicle that has 2 large cracks in the dash from i assume is plastic deterioration. I feel this type of defect should not happen in a vehicle of this age and gm knows there is a defect in the materials. I've contacted the dealer but gm assumes no responsibility for the defective material.

Carheros.com received $4.95 to perform vin search. The same vin number as i gave here, (xxxxx), was given to them, with debit card paying for the search. The results they gave me had only 2 things accurate, the year and it was a chevrolet. All information was 4'4, gas engine, 6 cylinders, 2 doors, and it was trim lt1. I have requested they return the $4.95. Could you help with this problem?parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The dash has cracked by the passenger side airbag toward the center of the dash and attachment points between the middle dash panel and front dash panel (window defroster) have broken off allowing dash to flex. This posses a sever safety risk in the case of an airbag deployment and causing dash components to potentially break free and become deadly projectiles during a wreck.

Vehicle has been stalling and losing trailer brakes. There is a recall on this but this particular truck did not fall in the recall. The trailer brake module on the frame rail of the truck was full of water. I has been replaced and all is good now. Could have been a very bad situation but was able to prevent an accident.

Cracking of dash near passenger side airbags and console. Not related to heat

Cracked dash board

My dash is cracked in two places. One by the air bag and another on the left side. This seems to be a very common problem.

I own a 2008 chevy silverado 2500, 4wd, duramax with allison trans . The problem is with the cruise control.between speeds of 30-45 mph, the cruise will not hold the speed steady going up a modest hill.rpms fluctuate 500-800 rpm causing the speed to surge upward and then back off only to repeat continuously while going up hill.had it to dealer twice who said it was normal.complained to gm hotline at 1-800-222-1020 and was given svc req # 71-806441267. Approximately 10 days later on march 2, 2010, a district rep called me and told me that gm said it was normal and nothing to be done.i complained that this was unsafe, that i never had a vehicle that had a cruise that did this.he was sympathetic but unable to resolve problem.it may not be a widespread problem in that i have a friend living in another state, who has a clone of my vehicle (bought from same dealer) and he states that his truck does not do this.this situation is unsafe and totally unacceptable.
