The gm recall came out in may, 2016, it is now january 2018 and still no remedy. They have been building more new vehicles for 7 more model years, what airbags are they using in them? and now they stand to get millions of dollars from takata. Who is helping the consumer here? this makes no sense. There needs to be an investigation into why the airbags cannot be replaced in a more timely manner.

I was parking my truck and lost my brakes. Found that the brake lines rusted out and i had to replace them. Also i noticed that the transmission and fuel lines are rusted badly. I repaired the fuel line 6 months ago because it rusted threw. There should be a recall to replace all lines do to poor quality lines were used.

Came out one mornning to find gas all over the driveway.

In may (2007) i went to new york and drove my son's 2000 z71 silverado back to texas when he was sent to iraq.there were no problems noticed on the trip, but after the truck had been parkedfor approx 3 weeks in my driveway, it would not move when i tried to move it across my driveway while i was edging.it felt like there was somethinghigh-centered underneath it. My son takes excellent care of his vehicle and stays current on all maintenance, always.and, he had just had new rear brakes installed before he left.i had to have a tow truck take it to a shop and they replaced all brakes and emergency brakes because they said they were frozen with rust. When it was being driven everyday, the rust never had a chance to oxidize enough to completely freeze the wheels up, but after sitting for a while it was like it was up on blocks.

Brakes failed due to loss of brake fluid through broken rusted through steel brake lines. Upon further inspection all brake lines are in similar condition.

I had come home from being out on the road all week, since i am an otr truck driver. I started my truck to let it warm up and when i got in to leave, i depressed the brake pedal to shift my truck into (r) and my brake pedal went to the floor. Since i do most my maint. On my vehicles i figured the (master cylinder) went bad. After replacing i was noticing that there was a puddle of brake fluid on the floor under the drivers side of the cab.crawled under and found that all the brake lines had rusted through and blown at the abs block. The local chevy dealer did my repairs at the grand sum of$850.21.

Total brake failure, fortunately at slow speed where parking brake could be used to stop.it was immediately after exiting a high-speed interstate, however, where the failure could well have resulted in a serious crash.the vehicle, a 2000 chevrolet 3/4 ton silverado hd truck, was taken to a nearby chevrolet dealer, where it was determined that rust had caused two leaks in the brake lines, causing immediate failure of all four wheel brakes.an estimate of up to $7000 for repair was given.

The contact owns a 2000 chevrolet silverado 2500 hd.while driving less than 8 mph with the brake pedal depressed, the abs warning light illuminated on the instrument panel.the vehicle moved another 10-15 feet before coming to a complete stop.the failure occurred each time the contact attempted to stop the vehicle.there were no recalls listed for the vehicle and general motors would not assist in remedying the failure.the failure mileage was 45,200 and current mileage was 45,900.updated 10-07-08the abs engaged prematurely. Updated 10/15/08.

Unnecessary anti-lock brake system activation (abs) at medium and low speeds. This condition results in increased stopping distances even at medium braking pedal pressure.
