When i opened doors the fuel pump turns on, while i'm driving it shifts and runs funny and you hear popping noises. The gauges mess up and radio turns on and off. Like its being hacked.
Vehicles engine and ignition shut off while turning right. Engine can be restarted immediately. This has occurred 3 times in 3 weeks (1090 miles) unexpectedly while traveling at low speed. One time while entering a roadway from a parking lot, one time while pulling over to park and one time while turning off of a highway off ramp. The dealership, healey brothers of middletown, ny attempted to recreate the problem, but was unable to do so and has no answers as to what could be the problem.
Truck will lose all power, everything will shut off, and then come right back on. It has happened while accelerating into traffic, slowing down turning right and turning left, and while moving straight ahead. It has been in the shop once for this same issue and they tell me they cannot find anything wrong with it. The stabilitrac warning will come on and go off and have had stall warning flash in traffic at stop lights. This has been going on for the last 12,000 miles and i have 20,083 miles on truck now. The clock and radio reset. It shutdown pulling into traffic on a busy highway and was a very dangerous situation. Been trying to get it into dealership since 3 weeks ago and no luck. This is not the only issues with this truck.
The dic and infotainment both change settings on their own. It will change radio stations or call people on the infotainment and the dic will change information displayed. The safety issue is it will also flash that the trailer has been disconnected/connected and when it thinks the trailer has been disconnected the trailer brakes will fail to function. It is a known problem with the display issue but i am unaware of any reports on trailer brake function. I have had a few serious conditions on two trailers when the truck does not recognize the trailer being connected and fails to apply the brakes.

The contact jumpstarted the vehicle however, the failure reoccurred while driving and he veered to the side of the road. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The radio, the headlights were engaging and disengaging independently. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that he would be responsible for the cost of repair as the vehicle was out of warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist because the vin was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 56,500.
This truck has so many issues first one was a fuel pump sending unit and it appears to be linked in with a lin data base? i had it repaired was good now it pops on again but its saying it can be something in the lin system sad todays cars are just filling up the junk yards and charging 50k for a new one its sadly piss poor quality

The rear defroster light is flickering. This is a known recall in canada for this same year, make and model. This is a fire hazard.
Truck stationary. Started engine. Immediately message showed up on dashboard indicating steering assist low, drive carefully. No power steering. Traction control warning lit. Shifted into reverse; truck would not move as if in neutral. Truck move move forward in drive but would not shift out of low gear. Also traction control symboil turned on. Took it to peters chevrolet longview, tx. Dealership found no issues.
While waiting to order a morning coffee at a local coffee shop drive thru (stationary), the rear defrost/defogger caused one of the glass panels of the rear windshield/back glass to shatter/explode. There was also smoke & an unmistakable electrical burning smell present at that time. Please refer to gm canada recall n192220470, as i believe this should become a safety recall in the united states of america as well.
While driving at approximately 65 mph all electronics shut off and turned back on moments later. This includes the gauges, radio and all lights including headlights. I took it to the dealership in which i purchased the truck from. They diagnosed it as a low voltage battery and their solution was to charge the battery and retest the systems. However they could not tell me why it was low. The service manager would not look into further testing to check the issue as they had met all the necessary steps layed out by gm under the bumper to bumper warranty. He had told me that they would be happy to do further testing on why the battery had a low voltage condition if i were to pay out of pocket for the costs even though my truck is still under bumper bumper warrenty. The service manager also blammed the cold weather conditions as it is currently in the low 20's outside. I have issue with this diagnosis due to me driving 60 miles a day for work and another 30 miles to drop it off at the dealership, the battery should have been amply charged in that time for their testing. Also the dealership replaced the battery with a new one 8 months prior when i first purchased the truck. I am concerned for my safety as the headlights turned off without warning due to a low battery and there has been no proper diagnosis of why there is a low battery condition.
Been having voltage issues for a couple of days where my lights dim and volt gauge drops and raises while driving or stationary dealer said it's normal also hard down shifting while driving not letting off the gas assistant brakes have failed and clunk hard sometimes when stopping or press hard back at me through the pedal again dealer said it's normal i pulled my truck out from the back of the house to the front shut it off to go get ready for work a couple minutes later my daughter informed me my truck was over heating i went to door to find smoke pouring out of my truck from under the hood grab a fire extinguisher run out pop the hood and the whole passenger side of compartment is in flames how does a vehicle that's not running start on fire? awaiting my insurance company to get it out of here i imagine will be a total loss there isn't much left of the engine bay so not sure what started the fire
Radio quit working and truck would not start took it to dealership they ordered new radio and then later installed it still dident work ordered module for it told them truck was shorting out and would not start and asked them if i should leave it on battery chargerover night so it would start in morning they said yes keep doing that until part came init did and they fixed it a month ago was at mall truck uould not start tried it again still nothing took key out waited couple minutes and it started then seatbelt stuck in door and went through door panel at home depot took it to dealershipthey said it was a safety issue an could fix the seat belt but not the door because i put black silicone on door to cover hole and now the headliner where you put your sunglasses is falling down worried i bought a lemon but not sure because this is my first new truck and it seems like there's a delay when you let of the gas and it stops giving the engine gas
At slow speeds, such as when parking, the truckā’s electrical system shuts down, i lose power steering, dash lights, radio, and then the truck restarts itself and continues.this has happened multiple times and chevrolet dealers donā’t w what the problem is.if nearly collided twice due to lack of power steering.
Hood latch sensor throws an engine fault code. The code says it cant determine if the hood is open or closed. After about 2 weeks the hood latch sensor keeps faulting every 1 second to 4 seconds for an extended period of time.
Truck loses power driving down the road. The service trailer brake system warning comes on the dash. The battery dies because of this also.
Currently there is a recall for same make of my vechile but not this vin, and issue is the same with my vechile. Breaks when pressed kicks back at me. And will hear a back kick. And electrical will make noise in the vechilce when stopped.
This has happened twice. The vehicle will not shift into gear, the power steering doesn't work, and other electronic options do not work. This has only happened when the vehicle is stationary. The first time it was parked and started, the weather was around 50f and clear. The second time was after getting gas while parked, the weather was clear and around 82f. After the vehicle sits for 10-15 minutes (off after the first start) you can restart the vehicle and it will go into gear but in a limp mode state. The power steering light will work but the vehicle does not shift correctly and the radio does not work correctly. These incidents happened approximately 5 months apart.
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds during high weather temperatures, it was discovered that the air conditioning system failed to activate and cool the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with the radiator valve was leaking and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,540.
The radio will come on by itself with the truck shut off and keys out of the ignition.the radio changes songs on its own, freezes up and repeats music from ipod(s).tried 4 different ipods, 2 different cables.gm replaced the him module, main computer, and radio.they say their programming is not compatible with apple products. To date, the issue remains with the radio as gm says they can't fix it.it has been in the dealership 4 times for a total of 15 days. The issue with the radio occurs both when stationary and moving.
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. While driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (lake chevrolet, 31201 auto center dr, lake elsinore, ca 92530) where it was explained to the contact that touching the keys could cause the vehicle to stall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,200.
Passenger front window auto up broke and almost completely severed a adult males ring fing tip. In a parking lot the window went up 'using auto up'. A friend was getting in the truck and had his finger unfortunately in the way the window did not stop after coming into contact with his finger and it was almost completely severed at the tip.
Air conditioning went out twice, brake pedal hard and wheel bearing noise from rear becoming louder after dealer said it was okay
When the vehicle was started, a loud squealing sound was heard coming from the vicinity of the front of the engine. While under the oem bumper to bumper warranted period, chevrolet dealer number one was not able to determine the problem or repair it. Furthermore, the problem was not reported in the vehicle history as reported. A short period later, chevrolet dealer number two was able to locate the problem and repair it at my personal expense as the warranted expired on time as opposed to mileage. I learned that the same problem was a part of a previous recall which dealt with failure of the brake assist pump. Gm rectified the recall by changing the computer software to overdrive the pump beyond it's original design speed. This provided an increase in pressure which temporarily corrected the failure. The corrective action added more stress to the original design of the pump and now the pump is mechanically failing as a result. This failure could potentially cause an immediate unexpected brake failure potentially resulting in frontal collision and loss of life!. The dealers have not provided copies of service orders or replaced parts. I only have rental agreements to substantiate that something was done to the vehicle. Gm's customer care is investigating the unprecedented behavior of the franchised dealers with no reply to me at this time.
While driving 41-60mph, the truck starts to idle as if the brakes are being pushed on one tire and the brake pedals and gas pedal tend to vibrate as if it were to fall off. After awhile doing that, the stability control light message comes on after reaching the middle of the coolant temperature and the problem goes away. Seems like it does it when it's on low temperature.
Service stabilatract comes on before i start the truck still since the day i bought it the dealership does not know what's wrong.and since i bought the truck the tranny really bangs and clunks a lot it's annoying when trying to drive in stop and go traffic it gear chases way to much. It can't be good for the tranny life.
Loss of power steering assist when first starting the vehicle.a message is displayed on the info panel in the center of the dash and all steering capability is lost.it's impossible to turn the steering wheel when this happens.both times the vehicle has been stationary and i've been able to correct the problem by disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it.i've reported this issue to the local chevrolet service center and they told me to continue monitoring the problem.i'm obviously concerned that this will happen when i'm driving, since, like i've already mentioned, you completely lose the ability to turn the steering wheel.other messages pop as well."traction control system requires servicing." "trailer brake requires servicing." many of the electrical features on the dash quit working.

First the controls on the steering wheel stopped working, while driving on a normal street in town. Then the stabilitrak service message and check engine light came on while driving down the highway. When the message came up the truck would no longer go when the gas pedal was pressed. Pulled over and turned off the stabilitrak in order to make it home and the truck shifted very hard into each gear and only would shift between 3000 and 3500 rpms.
I bought this 2018 silverado brand new 20 miles on it i had problems since the first day i drove out of the dealership truck has loud noise inside the cabin coming fryghe doors 6 months after the gauges are not reading accurately took back to the dealership and they kept for a month they fix the gauges bug the noise still happening worst truck ever for 40 k i own a 2004 and the inside is really quietalso the paint is chipping the dealership says it's cause the driving conditions i would understand if it was in the front of the truck but paint is chipping in the side and back of the truck i did my research and look on youtube and there's a lot of people complaining about this chevrolet should really look into this before we all go and trade it in for a fordi have pictures of this i'll try to post it if i can look at the gauges even when the truck is off
Truck stationary. Started engine. Immediately message showed up on dashboard indicating steering assist low, drive carefully. No power steering. Traction control warning lit. Shifted into reverse; truck would not move as if in neutral. Truck move move forward in drive. Shut off engine and restarted twice. No change. Did not attempt to drive.

Coolant water keeps spilling from water pump. As i was driving on the freeway, the pump blew and spilled all the coolant and had to pull over to the side. Had to get it replaced paid $150 for the part and than labor another $150. Truck has less than 30k miles and the water pump already breaking down. New vehicles are now designed to break on you easily so us customers spend more on parts and labor.

The plastic radiator has cracked and is leaking coolant heavily.truck still under powertrain warranty by gm is only offering to cover 20% of the $1,823 repair cost.i noticed it when stopped to get gas, the vehicle leaking approximately 1.5 gallons of coolant while stopped for approximately 3 minutes.this caused the vehicle to overheat and needed to add coolant just to drive to shop.

Reduced power steering assist engine stall ipc / radio / hvac goes blank various dtc.had my head lights flickering, had stabilitrak errors, power steering errors, and the worst of all, the steering wheel jerking out of my hands.isnt my video but similar when i was driving about 5mph[xxx]parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The contact owned a 2018 chevrolet silverado. While the vehicle was parked and unoccupied at the contact's resident, the vehicle spontaneously caught fire without warning or impact. A police report was filed. The fire department was called to the scene and extinguished the fire. There were no reported injuries. The contact called j.b.a. Chevrolet (7327 ritchie hwy, glen burnie, md 21061) but vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was contacted as the contact was awaiting a call back. The failure mileage was 22,000.
Its a brand new pickup track when i got it after one year a issue came up with caramel looks like leaking under the truck, radiator coolant got mix with engine oil. No warning light , engine might overheator engine might lockup. The dealer replaced the radiator and just flush the line. I heard so many complaint about this issue. But never heard any recalled.
Starter is bad, drags when cold or its drawn the battery down to where it won't start. Jumped it once, the dealership replaced the battery but that 650 cold cranking amp is not big enough for the starter. We need to go to a 1000 cold cranking amp plus a 200 amp alternator. Or we could just replace the starter with a good one.
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle lost motive power with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 23,000.
I started my vehicle and put the truck in reverse to back out of a parking spot. Gave the truck gas and it wouldn't accelerate. Put the truck back in park and looked at the guages and there were no rpm's showing on the cluster and the oil pressure was at zero. There was a message that said trailer brake system on the screen. I turned the truck off and on again and the same thing happened. I put the truck in drive and it would move forward but the motor ran very rough and there was no power steering. I dismissed the first message and another message popped up that said "steering assist is reduced, drive with care." i pulled into another parking spot, turned the truck off, and waited for a ride. I started the truck when my ride showed up to make sure it was still not working and it was as if nothing happened before. The truck had no issues on the 16 mile drive home. Got home and turned the truck off and started it again and the message came back up and the issues came back. I have a video of the trailer brake system and me shifting the truck and the guage cluster. I have a picture of the steering assist message.
Bulletin no pi1513f describes an issue with chevy silverados (amongst other models) and the radiators leaking due to over cycling of the thermostat. I have a 2018 that is barely 2 years old, and a leaking radiator! gm is doing nothing to own up to this issue, and they are expecting me to pay the entirety for a replacement, and i don't even have confidence it won't happen again. This bulletin should be extended to cover all years until gm proves they have a solution in place. It is completely unethical for gm to not address this issue and expect me to put this much money into a brand new truck.i slowly began to notice the coolant reservoir going down. I eventually brought it to my dealership (twice), and on the second visit they found the leak, although mileage was over the bumper to bumper warranty during the second visit. It is a very slow leak.
Transmission shifts hard from first to second/second back to first. I noticed this about a week after purchasing truck. Shifts hard mostly in 2wd, not so much in 4wd or hauling/towing. Leaf springs and shackles have squeaked since day one of purchase. Engine oil pressure is at 12-15psi at idle and will not exceed 32-35 psi under normal conditions with or without a load. I've changed the oil filter and oil pressure sensor multiple times. There also seems to be a chirp/tick coming from the passenger side of the engine compartment. I've been trying to narrow it down for the last few weeks. Seems to be something going on in the engine itself or possible the ac compressor. Truck has 42,450 miles
Radiator started leaking at 40,000 miles. Leaking at a weld where tube connect to side tanks.

The "check engine" light keeps coming on.
Transmission overheats when backing a trailer up a slight hill and will not move untile it cools down.
While driving on interstate towing empty 12' trailer, the engine stopped and received stabilitrack message and transmission too hot.this happened again after letting engine cool down.had the tramission fluid changed two days later.dealer just stated their was a loss of communication with the engine. One week later received transmission hot, idle engine message on the interstate while hauling the same trailer with only a riding lawnmower.pulled over for 30 minutes and drove the rest of the way home at a reduced speed. Highway speed was 70 mph until it overheated, then drove 50-55 mph to get to my destination trying not to let transmission temperature over 220.

This new style of headlights do not provide the necessary light required to see if any wildlife along the shoulder of the highway that will enter your driving area while driving at night.would suggest they replace these headlights with a better quality of lighting at night.low beam and high beam lights are not bright enough to see well for hazards.this will provide for more accidents on the highways if left the way they are.
The headlights on my new silverado bounce / flicker like an old semi truck when going over bumps and imperfections in the road. The dealer said that there is no tsb for fixing this issue from gm so they can't do anything. They did say they were aware of the issue and that they get many complaints about it. They said it is due to the hid bulb gm is using. It is very distracting and dangerous.
Hearing unusual powertrain winning , lugging on a hill to the point of shuttering before it downshifts, and then very harsh shift. Very harsh shift from firstto second gears, and then again on downshift from second to first. Today 11/19/2020 i had the cruise control set at 70 mph, and once it started lugging down it downshifted and took off like the engine kept running wild. I tapped the brake pedal to cancel the cruse control, the brake pedal had no effect in canceling the cruse this vehicle just kept running wild. I even pushed the main cruise power button on the steering wheel foe what seemed like an eternity, still run as if it was possessed.after about 45 seconds, and just as i made up my mind that i hadto kill the ignition switch, it calmed back down to the normal harsh shift, but didn't run wild. I also noticed that the engine rpm's gauge is not steady, and moves radically i have contacted my local dealer in the past with my concerns of aharsh shift issue, as well as the shuttering and luging down on the hills, and they assured me that they haven't had any issues with their transmission.these trucks need to be looked at very closely before someone has a catastrophic accident.i have an appointment on the 5 of december 2020, and you would think with the safety factor of my concerns, that they would try getting me in sooner, rather then put me off over two weeks.
While driving on 30-40mph and hit the brakes slowly, it feels as if the pedal is gonna fall off and can also feel a vibrate on it. It also stalls as if the brakes are being pressed but i'm not, this happens usually in the beginning after being turned on and then stops doing it after reaching the middle of the temperature.
Abs (trailer braking system) and stabitrak warning lights randomly come on while driving and remain on until vehicle turns off. On multiple occasions the rear wheels have locked and steering becomes difficult even when brakes are not being applied. This has occurred while driving at varying speeds and in varying weather conditions.vehicle has been checked by dealer on 3 separate occasions for thisand service was reported unable once lights have gone off. Said incident has occurred approximately 30-50 times over the past 18months.

When driving on highway transmission surges/pulsates under light acceleration. When accelerating most often when vehicle is already in motion there is a extreme delay in shifting which causes a jerk at lower speeds or an delayed then hard shift at slightly higher speeds. Most noticeable in traffic.
Takata recall. While backing out of my driveway i heard a loud clunking sound coming from the under carriage of my truck. It stopped for a second and then did it again the clunking sound got progressively louder. I noticed the sound at low speeds, high speeds, going over minor bumps and big bumps in the road. Additionally, while going over big bumps i could hear what sounded like flexing and/or grinding metal coming from the rear suspension. I stopped the vehicle and proceeded to rock it back and forth and noticed the knocking/grinding sounds coming from the under carriage and the suspension. I got back in the vehicle and drove off and the sounds again started. I have infant twins that i was driving in my vehicle at this time and i became very concerned for their safety and mine. I took the vehicle to the dealership (since it is brand new and at the time only had 2-3k miles on it). They said "its a known problem in chevrolet trucks" the paperwork they gave me after the "repair" stated" lubricate rear leaf springs and re-torque bolts" this indicates i had loose suspension components. The problem occurred again and i again took the truck to the dealership. They again stated the same repair and refused to provide any other remedy and also refused to replace the leaf springs.the same problem happened again. Again i took the truck to the dealership and again they refused to provide any other form of service to remedy the problem. My truck has less than 8k miles on it and it has been in the shop on 4 separate instances for the same suspension problem. The clunking and loose suspension noises have returned and i will be taking the truck in for the 5th time. This is unsafe, and my wife refuses to drive in my truck nor allow me to drive our children in our truck because shes concerned for their safety!
On 8/17/2020 i started getting a severe shaking in the front end of my 2018 chevrolet silverado crew cab 4x4 ltz. Thinking that i threw just a wheel weight i took it to my priority chevrolet in chesapeake virginia and found out it has a shutter shake as the dealership called it. After doing research on this i have found that there is a class action law suite against gm on this matter and is a very common problem that people are having from years 2014 thru 2019. I would think after all this information on this a recall would be put out on this.i do not have any documentation at this time due to it still being at dealership for repair.this happened while driving on interstate 64 east bound at a speed of 55 up to 65 when problem occurred.
When vehilce goes from 6 cylinders to 4 cylinders it shakes really bad and causes headaches at all speeds ! worse at higher speeds
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing transmission failure. After the contact went back and forth with the manufacturer and dealer (bill cramer chevrolet buick gmc, 2251 w 23rd st, panama city, fl 32405, (850) 250-1403), they settled on trading the contact's 2015 silverado for a 2018 silverado with the same transmission failure. The contact researched that chevrolet was served with a class action lawsuit for the transmission. The manufacturer wanted the contact to go through the same process for diagnosing the 2018 model as he did with the 2015 model. The contact would have to make an appointment with the dealer and have a senior advisor from the manufacturer call him back. The contact wanted to know if he should file under the lemon law with his state's attorney general's office. The failure mileage was 0.
This trucks transmission shifts whenever it wants to... I was driving 45mph and coasting to a red light when it downshifts hard but when the light turned green again and i pressed the accelerator i had no torque, like i was in 5th gear and should have been in 2nd. I pressed a bit harder and it downshifted hard again and was at 5k rpms! i thought it had an 8 speed transmission, but it sure doesnt seem like it. My truck was new and only has 5k miles on it. Unacceptable
Parked and shut off, disconnected trailer. Truck rolled back while in park. I jumped out of way and tried to open door to stop. Door knocked me down and continued backwards dragging me. Final stop over edge of pond against tree stump. Had towed to dealer for inspection by chevy engineer. 2 weeks no communication.
Transmission overheats when backing a trailer up a slight hill and will not move untile it cools down.
While driving or idling transmission temp was around and staying at 240.
Transmission clunks when slowing down
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado. The contact stated that while driving, the transmission would overheat. The air conditioner was not working and the fans were running. The vehicle had a load jerk and the transmission keep reeving high even after he had taken his foot off the accelerator. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. Starling chevrolet buick gmc (1001 e irlo bronson memorial hwy, st cloud, fl 34769 (407) 593-8957) where the air conditioner system was repaired but the issue still persisted. No repairs were performed on the transmission. An appointment was made for another diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 13,000.

Bought this truck brand new with 9 miles on it. (previously drove a ram 1500). My first gm product i've bought in my life and i'm disgusted! i'm a victim of the 'transmission harsh downshift syndrome'. Slowing down normally is clunky, nothing smooth about this 'automatic transmission' 6 speed btw. When slowing down abruptly (in stop n go traffic), transmission slams into gear while downshifting, feels like i'm being rearended.took it to the dealership a total of 6 times, they say 'operating as designed'....yea right. My ram never did this...talked to corporate on 2 separate occasions... 'there is nothing we can do' is what they tell me.poor design, hate the truck, disgusted with gm.i'm now making double payments to get out from under it (because i'm upside down from buying brand new and gm thinks so much of their product to charge an arm and a leg and my first born) to trade it in on either a foreign car or back to ram. Gm doesn't care, rich billionaires crapping on the middle class, too many 'pencil pushers' creating 'new designs' to be fuel efficient and impress their bosses to make their bonus.news flash....we buy trucks not be fuel efficient, but to be manly and haul things and go off road and cary a few passengers while we're at it!!save yourself the hassle and dont buy a gm product.
Hard downshift from 2nd to 1st
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, a warning light indicating that the transmission was overheating illuminated. The contact pulled over and turned-off and restarted the vehicle and continued driving. The warning light disappeared. The contact took the vehicle to pendarvis chevrolet company, inc. (650 augusta rd, edgefield, sc 29824, (803) 639-8117) who flushed the transmission and removed the thermostat and plugged one line directly to the transmission. The failure recurred and the contact took the vehicle back to the dealer who then repaired the torque converter. The failure recurred whenever the contact would attach a load to the vehicle and the vehicle was returned to the dealer a third time however, the mechanic was unable to identify the cause of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 59,000.
Radiator developed a leak as described in general motor's service bulletin pi1513f dated january, 2019. Safety was put at risk due to having a vehicle which could have a sudden radiator failure and permanently damage the vehicle. The dealership i had my radiator replaced at would not state if they have had this issue occur often. No warning lamps or messages prior to the radiator losing 1.5 gallons of coolant. My first symptom was the engine overheating.
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35-50 mph, the vehicle decelerated, shuddered and loss motive power. The check engine and traction control warning lights were illuminated. A warning message indicated transmission needed to cool off; stop the vehicle. The contact called steves chevrolet of chowchilla located at 1 auto park dr, chowchilla, ca 93610, and informed them of the failure. The contact was advised to schedule an appointment to have the vehicle diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not part of a recall. The failure mileage was 79,800.
Transmission slips, knocks, and grinds in some instances. No check engine light from these issues but spent 30k + and i having these issues at 13,500 miles.
When i place the truck in drive in the morning or after the truck has been sitting for more than a few hours, the transmission engages hard, lurching the truck body foward. The dealership acknowledges the problem, but said there is no fix.
Several times, while driving right around 55 mph, the transmission downshifted for no reason on thruway conditions.when this happened, it was almost like slamming on the brakes quickly. On all occasions, my body lurched forward.if someone was behind me, i probably would have been rear ended.on another occasion, with my son in the truck, we stopped at a red light and the transmission clunked so violently, that we both thought we were rear ended at first.i described the issue to my gm service shop who said that they couldn't find an issue and that the codes were all normal. I was advised that the clunk at the red light was common, as the transmission has to relieve pressure.no way is this normal!i got on line to review forums and it appears this is a very prevalent issue.yesterday, i lost my transmission completely on a thruway.i heard a loud clunk and the rpms spiked.i left the highway asap but could not go over 30 mph or the rpms would just spike without motion response.exiting the thruway at this speed was very dangerous!even with hazards on, drivers seldom slow down or move over, especially 18 wheelers.these transmissions are clearly a safety hazard.
Transmission slips, transmission downshifts hard, transmission will have a loud thud when reengaging after taking foot off gas pedal in stop and go traffic, especially on the expressway.thud can be felt in the cab of the truck.electronic 4 wheel drive grinds when engaged in motion.4 wheel drive grinds when turning even the slightest bit.upon first starting vehicle transmission hesitates until temp reaches 125 degrees at least.
The eight speed automatic transmission stutters and acts like it doesn't know what gear to go into under light to normal acceleration.this occurs while cold and during the warming period, (normally up to around 180 degrees), but tends to resolve after the engine is completely warmed up.this transmission problem is continuous and happens every time after the vehicle sits all night or if it has simply sit for a few hours.it is very apparent, other passengers ask what is wrong with the vehicle when they ride in it.i bought the vehicle new, but when i took the test drive it was already warmed up.therefore i was unaware of the issues present.i went back to the salesman to describe the problem and was informed this happens with all the 2018 eight speed silverado's he has driven on their lot.i looked on the internet and found these transmissions have a learn cycle, so i decided to give it some time to see if was a learning curve with the computer.it never cleared up.i later brought the vehicle into the dealership for the initial service and described what had been happening with it to the service department.i left the vehicle overnight so the technician could drive first thing in the morning and perform an services.the next day i was called and told my vehicle was ready.upon arrival i was informed the technician was able to duplicate the problems i described, but it was normal for the eight speed transmission.however, it becomes worse to bring it back in for further diagnosis.i called gm, they also looked into the case for about a week, then called back and stated that is normal for the transmission. I bought the vehicle new with about 2,500 miles on it, (demo), and have had it only a few months.it currently has less than 10,000 miles on it.
Failed to shift gears. Jerking and shaking. Bunning smell. Failed to move in drive or reverse. Check engine light eventually came on. Still has transmission fluid.
The transmission slips or shudder, also has free wheeled when going down hill at slow speeds, also occurs in reverse, usually about 1 to 2 car lengths. Have returned to the dealer several times and been told that gm does not have a remedy. Had the service recommendation of a transmission flued flush done twice with different fluid installed with no change. Has been in the dealers shop for 3 weeks with gm looking at the problem, no solution in sight. No confidence that gm can fix the problem. This could develop into a serious safety issue.
Transmission problems including slipping, shifting harshness, clunking, especially on downshifts and slipping when towing. Clunking noise/feel when slowing down/stopping. Especially noticeable on hills, but present on flat and downhill roads at surface streets as well as freeways and highways. Problem first brought to chevrolet's service dept at 7000 miles and told it's normal. Again brought to service dept attention at approximately 12000 miles and again told it's normal. Problem continued to worsen severely and again brought to service dept attention at approximately 15000 miles. Problem diagnosed as failing torque converter. This was replaced. Problem with transmission continues after replacement and at 16197 miles it is now back at the service dept.transmission is the 6 speed automatic.
Radiator started leaking at 40,000 miles. Leaking at a weld where tube connect to side tanks.
I purchased this truck new in november of 2018. It had 4 miles on it. My previous truck i owned for 10 years. A 2000 gmc sierra, which i maintained meticulously. I sold it 452k miles on the original engine. Since i purchase the truck the transmission has shifted hard especially at low speeds. I won't write a review exactly like all the other transmission reviews, but they are same problems i am having. Gm needs to rectify this issue due to the number of unsatisfied customers with a sub par product. I could have bought any truck i wanted, and i unfortunately bought a silverado with a transmission that doesn't function the way a newer one should. Aside from the mechanical issues it causes, it is extremely embarrassing with passengers in the truck. It never fails, they all say the same exact thing...'what was that?'...... Gm stand behind your product like we stood behind our hard earned money when we paid you.
When i drive i get a hard shift/slipping when taking off and i get a hard downshift when slowing down or coming to a stop. I have taken it to the dealer and they say they fix it, return it, and same problem. When i come to a stop and am sitting for a while the vehicle begins to shake out of nowhere.
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. While driving 55-60 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate, lost power, and spontaneously moved. There were no warning indicators illuminated; however, the "icy road conditions drive with care" message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to maverick chevrolet (4801 e end blvd s, marshall, tx 75672, (903) 938-5111), but the failures could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 9-5588486485. The failure mileage was 11,000.
Transmission locked up and failed. Acted like it bound up. This happened during a normal shift sequence, acted tight then engine just kept over revving.happened about 3-4 months ago. Dealer fixed for free. Said it was common. This happened right at 60k miles. Said if it happens again they will not warranty it as there is no fix for this problem. Suggested i buy another new truck.next problem is my right front caliper has failed twice and needed complete replacement.it is now failing for the third time. This is seriously unsafe and crazy. I have only about 73k miles on this truck.third thing is my chrome trim on my door handles has repeatedly failed.i was told by my dealer this is normal and it is not fixable unless i pay them. It is not normal wear and tear. The truck is babied and kept in perfect condition.
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 75 mph, the traction control and the transmission overheating warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to park on the side of the road for 30 minutes for the transmission to cool down. The contact stated while driving to his residence, there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 24,158.
At approximately 15,000 miles i was parked in a yard and blocked in so i backed up on a small hill and the truck jerked badly for about 15 feet i thought it was the positive traction trying to catch on the grass but further into driving the truck i noticed it happening more and more in forward or reverse and in shifting into gears are at times hard. The last incident i was taking off from a red light today and around 40 mph it had a jerk/ hard shift, my truck is a daily driver and i have 44,000 miles on it currently. I am a hardworking american that purchased this $40,000 truck for dependability because i do a lot of driving and would love for some one to put a stop to this nonsense there are already so many complaints online about this 8 speed transmission jerking and snatching at random time can you all please make gm recall these and be held accountable for the junk transmissions.thank you,[xxx]redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).*cc
The transmission clunks and slips a lot.
Squeaking noise under box. Dealer took 2 months to get a replacement leaf shackle for left side. It did stop the noise. My transmission has a hard shift in gears when taking off and coming to a stop. Transmission seems to hang up shifting from low gear t a higher gear and does the same when coming to a stop. Seems to be getting worse. New truck, now has 21,000 miles but worst investment i have made switching from a foreign truck back to made in america. This hard shifting takes place when starting off or coming to a stop on any highway or street.
Vehicle developed a vibration at 80mph which fades in and out. Tires were road forced balanced, and alignment was done. Transmission fluid was changed. The shacking at 80mph continued. On a 30 mile commute at 80mph the vibration is extreme 25% of the time (like driving over a rumble strip), moderate another 25% of the time, and the other 50% the vibration is not noticeable.
While driving highway speed on cruise control the rpm levels start jumping up and down and it feels like your driving over the rumble strips. It only last for a second or two at a time, but it does do it a good amount of times while driving.
Constant vibration/shake coming from the vehicle at any speed above 65 mph. The truck has been like this since the day it left the dealership. When on highway and vibration is felt, putting the truck in neutral does not change the vibration, slowing down makes it slightly worse, speeding it makes it slightly better. Feels like there is something seriously wrong with the geometry of the truck making it unsafe to drive at highway speeds. Road force balance was already done and the problem persists on a brand new truck.
My vehicle is having hard downshifting issues. Mainly from 2 to 1 and occasionally from 3 to 2. I notice there isnt a recall listed but it definitely seems like a serious issue. That could possible cause damage later on. I've read online that it seems to be a pretty common issue with the silverado 2014-2019. I would like and explanation and fix please. Chevrolet has checked and said it doesn't read as an issue on computer reading. Thanks
When coming to a full stop, the transmission down shift really hard. It makes the vehicle jerk forward. It doesn't matter if you are going up hill/downhill or on a flat road. I took it to the dealer at 4k miles for this reason and was told it was a known chevy issue but that they had no way of fixing it.i took it back a second time at 5k and was told the jerkiness andpoop the transmission does is a gm defect design but that they had no way of fixing. Dealer said other owners have installed a 3rd party single piece drive shaft with angle spacers but that was notcovered by gm warranty.dealer essentially wanted me to fix the harsh shifting and clunkiness by going with an after market parts provider.a work around that has seem to make the issue more bearable is putting the truck in 'tow mode' it smooths the ride out but it tends to make the transmission run about 20'40 degrees hotter
I was on highway 65 coming out of rocklin ca goingback to yuba city ca. The chvey silverado with out any warning it just lost power and i had to pull over. I am glad i was on the slow lane. If i was onfast lane with a big rig behind me. It would have been bad. After pulling over the eng light when on for the first time since i have owned the truck. Not any time before. I thought if a family with children was in the fast lane and this happened it would not be a good out come. I had it towed to my home the chevy dealer was close. On july 18 i had it towed to the dealer i had the truck towed to wheeler chevroletin yuba city they replace the engine computer and the tranny computer . And to day aug 1 , 2021 they said they would fix the tranny. I am wondering if they know what they are doing ? this is very disturbing i am very apprehensive about the safety of the truck if this were to happen again !!
In may 2018 i purchased a new chevy silverado lt z71 pu. I live in colorado and when i drive the truck down the i-70 mountain pass the transmission is downshifted beyond what io would call a safe down shift. Im traveling down the pass, just coasting, down hill assist mode is off @ roughly 55 mph the transmission down shift hard. The rpm goes from ~1850 to ~3800 rpm. The engine and transmission and engine both make a lot of noise when this happens. I traveled the pass about 8 time now and the truck does this funny shift everytime and i have picture showing 4 events. I've taking the drive into the dealer and since the computer doesn't log a error code the dealer doesn't know what to do. This past week they gave another 2018 p/u with the same tranny and engine and that truck did not do the same downshift. I believe there is something wrong with my truck and also if this event happened in the winter on a snowy road the truck would spin out of control and cause a accident and is a huge safety concern. I also filed a complaint with gm but they are really not help to resolve this problem. The dealer looked at the truck again today, no codes recorded, the reset the transmission memory today to try and satisfy my need to do something. I now waiting to hear back from the dealer on the next steps. I will also call gm again to give them this information. I am attaching picture that clearly show this problem. I also given the dealer the same pictures.
The contact owned a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle was involved in a crash and ended up in a river embankment. The vehicle was totaled and towed away. The air bags did not deploy and the seat belt pretensioners failed. The contact sustained a broken back and received medical attention. A police report was filed. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The cause of the failure was not determined. The failure mileage was 18,000.
During a minor incident with low impact and at a low speed, both front seat seatbelt pretnesioners fired off, locking both belts completely and filling the truck with smoke.no one was in the passenger seat when that one engaged.i was backing up in a shopping center parking lot slowly and did not see a concrete slab behind me due to the angle.
Rear middle seat belttop plastic bracket is made very unreliable and unsafe, fixed it three time at dealership. The plastic bracket breaks all the time with just a slight pull on the seat belt. Once broken the seat belt gets stuck or twist around bracket and no longer works. It should be fixed by chevy/gmc immediately if someone get in an accident there will be a law suit. There are many other people complaining of this issue on line.
The rear seat belts do not retract once extended. The emergency locking mechanism locks the belt, but the belt does not retract. Installation of car seats that require seat belts to be locked and retracted until tight is not possible.
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated that the front passenger's, rear passenger's, and the rear driver's side seat belt failed to retract and was tight around chest. The vehicle was not taken to the local dealer. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not under warranty and there would be no assistance in repairing the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.
The middle rear seatbelt in the 2018 silverado crew cab has a plastic strap retainer that comes apart easily, causing the seatbelt to get stuck on one side or the other of the metal positioning bar. This has happened while driving and the rear center passenger's seatbelt was left slacked. It will only return once the seatbelt strap is manually centered on the metal positioning bar. The clips on the plastic piece appear to be insufficient. The chevrolet dealership has replaced the plastic strap retainer piece once already and it did not correct the problem.
The drivers seat moves while turning. It feels like the seat is sliding when turning then there is a "catch" and a sudden stop in movement. While driving and making a turn the feeling the seat will come unbolted from the floor is a unnerving feeling to say the least
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated that the rear seat headrests did not stay in place whenadjusted to accommodate the height of the rear passengers riding in the rear seats. The vehicle was taken to quirk chevrolet of portland (1000 brighton ave, portland, me 04102) where it was diagnosed that the locking mechanism did not lock in place and was designed that way. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50.
Air conditioning went out twice, brake pedal hard and wheel bearing noise from rear becoming louder after dealer said it was okay
The truck has less than 100 miles on it.i had been driving at 55 and entering town. Slowed to 45, then 35, then 25 mph.had a slow coast down hill approx 200 yds at 25mph while lightly on the brakes.i attempted to stop as i was approaching a stopsign.the brake pedal pushed deeper than usual, was very hard, and i did not have much stopping force.i had to stand very hard on the pedal to get it stopped and my stopping distance was greater than usual.had there been a pedestrian crossing the street there would have been a big problem.as a let off the pedal to cross the intersection, there was a surge like the engine was stuck on fast idle or like when accelerating from a low rpm brake stand.after that short incident, brake function was back to normal and i drove the vehicle home without another issue.
The brake peddle went solid hard and loss of braking happened while backing a boat trailer down a boat launch ramp.when the brakes failed the dash flashed service brake assist. Loss of power brakes caused the truck to not stop even with pushing down on the peddle as hard as possible.this occurred while coasting in reverse off of the throttle using the brake to slow the vehicle and boat down while going down the launch ramp in reverse.speed was approximately 5 mph.i managed to stop the vehicle at the water line by applying the emergency brake.the local chevrolet dealership where the vehicle was purchased replaced the vacuum pump under warranty due to weak vacuum.i lost power brakes again on the way home from the dealership when backing down an incline on my driveway at low speed.the dash flashed service brake assist again.returned truck to dealership the next morning and took a technician on a test drive with me.showed technician loss of power brakes and service brake assist message on dash when braking in reverse on an incline.chevrolet dealership says they contacted chevrolet technical support and replaced brake booster and replaced vacuum pump for the second time.this is on a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500 lt1 with the 6.2l engine and 42,155 miles.
Started having soft/hard braking issues when going at low speeds. Pump the brake petal a few times to try and apply more pressure but does not do the trick. Do not see any issue's with leaks or damage. Seen recalls for vacuum pumps with the year and model the same.
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. While driving low speeds, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard and failed to bring the vehicle to a stop. The failure occurred multiple times. The vehicle finally stopped and was towed to wiesner of huntsville (230 i-45, huntsville, tx 77320, (936) 291-7500). The dealer was currently repairing the vacuum brakes. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 24,325. The vin was unknown.
Truck loses power driving down the road. The service trailer brake system warning comes on the dash. The battery dies because of this also.
My truck has a known recall with the brakes failing due to a mechanical issue with the vaccum. I contacted holly chevy in marion arkansas and it has been now over a month awaiting parts. I have to continue to drive this vehicle due to it being my only vehicle to travel to work. I have expressed this safety issue to them and having to press the brake pedal with force to stop the truck.
Loss of power due to vacuum pump. Message pops up on speedo saying service brake assist as the brakes stop working. Happens at slower speeds while moving (city driving)
I have filed a complaint already about my 2018 silverado1500 l, never received a response about the complaint filed. My truck road very rough, it had a bad vibration and shimmy in the front end. The front end would nose dive when braking. The truck would pull to the right when going around a right curve. The left front tire was riding on the outside edge. Taking to long to get the truck to stop when braking. These complaints were ignored by the gm service centers, i was pretty much called a liar. The left side front tire edge was very visible to the eye on the tire riding on the edge. Called a liar again. At 16000 miles i took matters into my own hands. I bought new shocks and struts and had a certified service center put them on. The truck rides well, no more shimmy in the front end, the steering is fine going around a right-hand curve does not pull to the right anymore. The truck is now braking like it is supposed to. I have a warranty on this truck the dealerships denied that anything was wrong with the truck. Why when i had the shocks and struts changed the problems went away. I keep the gm shocks and struts. I took a strut and placed the rod end on a board and pushed down on the tube the rod went into the tube with hardly any resistance they were junk. I am going to make a video demonstrating the gm strut and send it to the news media along with the paperwork showing where i had taken my truck to the dealership service centers. If gm is not going to honor their warranty and tell their service center techs to lie about the problem the public has the right to know. I am going to put the date that i had the shocks and struts changed on the next step.
The trailer brake control module stopped working on the interstate while pulling a 37' fifth wheel camper. This defective part caused the truck to not have any electric brakes on the camper. A warning message appeared on the dash. A new trailer brake control module fixed the problem.since the vehicle was out of warranty (37,878 miles) the part was not covered by the dealer.the dealership where the part was purchased informed me that it was a common problem. This problem occurred while traveling at 65 miles per hour.there was only the truck brakes to stop the camper without the trailer brakes working. This is a serious problem and should be addressed.
While towing a boat on the highway, a series of warning icons appeared that indicated there was something wrong with the abs, trailer tow, tracking.
At low speeds, such as parking lot, or traffic jam, and even while at a stop light, the brake pedal pushes up and becomes very hard. The brakes stop working and the truck must be taken out of drive. Chevy has issued a recall on silverado trucks 2014-2018 equipped with 5.3l motors the recall number is 20v603000.everything that happens as a result of the faulty brake assist is exactly what is happening to my 2018 silverado (5.3l)bomnin chevrolet dadeland and chevy is telling me that my vin number doesn't qualify me for the recall, yet my truck description and brake problem, both match the recall perfect. To add insult to injury bomnin charged me $630 and when i went to pick up the truck it is exactly the same. No brakes at idle.
Driving in straight line at 5mph with hill decent activated. Brake pedal began to pulsate, which was felt in the pedal and it was making an odd audible pulsating noise from the brake pedal non-stop as if abs was constantly engaging.brakes suddenly disengaged and truck started picking up speed.error displayed on dash which said service stabilitrak system. I believe another error was displayed but i didn't see it.i attempted to manually apply brakes, however pedal was extremely stiff/hard and i was unable to press brake pedal down, and the truck did not slow. The pedal was hard for 1 second then the power brakes returned, and i was able to slow the vehicle.all error symbols disappeared from the display.a new ticking type noise just started from the driver side lower engine area. I later received two onstar emails which stated; -'an issue with the antilock braking system in your 2018 chevrolet silverado has been detected. Please service your vehicle within 7 days.'-'an issue with the stabilitrak stability control system in your 2018 chevrolet silverado has been detected. Please service your vehicle within 7 days.'vehicle was brought to a chevrolet dealer who said the vacuum pump had failed.per my online search the problem is described in gm bulletin #pit5361b. Vacuum pump was replaced by dealer under warranty.
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked and failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact stated he replaced the battery and was able to start the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while the vehicle was parked. The contact stated he was able to jumpstart and restart the vehicle however, as he was exiting the parking lot and making a right turn, the vehicle inadvertently stalled almost causing him to crash into a wall.several unknown warning lights illuminated.
In an accident where i was the at fault driver, i was approaching a stop light and did not notice the red light nor the car stopped until approximately three seconds before impact. Once i recognized what was happening, i immediately slammed on the breaks. I hit the other driver in the rear of his vehicle. As stated above, i hit my breaks about 3 seconds before impact, but my abs did not activate; instead my breaks locked and i slid 15-30 feet into the other vehicle. Additionally, since my airbags deployed, a tow truck was required to tow my truck. Upon arrival of the tow, my truck would not start, so he needed to pull it up onto the bed of his tow truck with chains. Once hooked up, he began to drag the truck up. The tow driver asked me if the truck was 4 wheel drive and whether i had been driving in 4 wheel. I indicated it did, but i was not driving in 4 wheel mode. I asked why he had asked, and he said that it while pulling the truck up, all four wheels were locked. He said that should not happen normally. I'm not sure exactly how the mechanics of abs work, but i have felt abs engage multiple times and have attending drivers training for winter weather conditions. My abs did not activate; there was no stutter of the breaks, only a stable press with no active response other than locked breaks and a long skid.
Currently there is a recall for same make of my vechile but not this vin, and issue is the same with my vechile. Breaks when pressed kicks back at me. And will hear a back kick. And electrical will make noise in the vechilce when stopped.
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the service brake assist message was displayed, and the brakes were slow to engage. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed that the brake booster pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
Shaking in the front at speeds over 40mph when there is a slight acceleration, that does stop when you take the foot off the gas. The shaking seems to get more violent at higher speeds, and so far the dealer has been unable to find the cause.
The steering assist reduced light and the stabletrack light keep comingon while driving on street and highway
Driving back from the holidays in another state. Stop to get gas, i check tire pressure and put fuel additive in the fuel tank. I get back on the highway, going the speed limit which is 75 mph. All of a sudden the steering gets tight as i was next to a rolling semi . I stop at a rest area to see if i can find any visible problems but i could not. At lower speeds the problem seemed to be worse. High speeds the steering was tight and trying to switch lanes it almost feels like the steering locked. About 25 miles later the problem. Seemed to be better but eventually came back and the next day it was bad again. The highway i was on (i20) was recently re done so it was smooth road. I've done research and can only assume it has something to do with theeps system.
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. While making a right turn, the steering wheel seized. The contact released the accelerator pedal and depressed the brake pedal and the steering wheel returned to normal. The contact called chevrolet of west (225 m w pkwy, west, tx 76691) and was informed to call the manufacturer. The manufacturer had not been contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 4,759.
2018 silverado crew cab lt has had a stiff steering issue for over a month now. Has 11 thousand miles. Carried to lynn layton chevrolet the first time, found 0 issues. Carried back a couple of days later, service manager drove the truck and said he experienced the stiffness while driving. They replaced the battery stating their was a dead cell in the battery when i've never had any problems with starting vehicle or dimming light. I picked the truck up again still has same steering stiffness while driving and turning right and left. Took the truck back a third time the same day as my second attempt to fix and lynn layton chevrolet in decatur, alabama still has my vehicle. Seriously consider trading at this point to avoid any more conflict.

The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated that the electric power steering (eps) failed and caused the steering wheel to be extremely tight. The steering wheel had to be manually maneuvered from right to left with difficulty. The eps indicator flashed a warning each time after the failure occurred. The contact had to apply force to maneuver the steering wheel to ensure that the vehicle was safely driven. The dealer (lindner chevrolet, 2805 fremont dr, caon city, co 81212, 1-719-315-1390) was notified and the vehicle was left at the dealer for over a month for test driving and diagnostic testing. The dealer provided a loaner vehicle while servicing the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted more than twice. The failure mileage was not available.
The contact called on behalf of her husband who owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle started to make an abnormal noise. The vehicle was taken to all star chevrolet located (11377 airline hwy, baton rouge, la 70816) where the vehicle was diagnosed. The contact was notified of a wheel bearing failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.the approximately failure mileage was 70,000.

Steering loss with warning. I've had the truck for 100 miles and have had this problem 8-10 times. In motion, stopped, transitioning into motion. Quickly moving from forward to reverse.

Driving at highway speed holding the steering wheel straight the truck will move quickly to the left lane some time and then other times to the far outside of the right lane.also i have had it move all the way to left lane and the all the way back across the right lane to off the road.have notice as well that you can be turning the steering wheel to the right and the truck is still going to the left. When driving in a curve and coming back to center from the right it will snap back really fast not nice and easy like from the left. The truck has done this from day one i have tried to get gm to fix it but the say there nothing wrong i have drove 7 other truck like mine and they all had like there should the drive straight down the road.

If gm is not going to honor their warranty and tell their service center techs to lie about the problem the public has the right to know. I am going to put the date that i had the shocks and struts changed on the next step.
Undercar body excessively rusting and corroding
My son was backing out of a tight parking space at our hotel.he checked his rear camera and saw there were concrete poles close behind him so he braked, but the truck jumped backward and hit the pole denting his bumper.

I bought this 2018 silverado brand new 20 miles on it i had problems since the first day i drove out of the dealership truck has loud noise inside the cabin coming fryghe doors 6 months after the gauges are not reading accurately took back to the dealership and they kept for a month they fix the gauges bug the noise still happening worst truck ever for 40 k i own a 2004 and the inside is really quietalso the paint is chipping the dealership says it's cause the driving conditions i would understand if it was in the front of the truck but paint is chipping in the side and back of the truck i did my research and look on youtube and there's a lot of people complaining about this chevrolet should really look into this before we all go and trade it in for a fordi have pictures of this i'll try to post it if i can look at the gauges even when the truck is off
A clunking noise coming from the rear of the vehicle when in motion. More noticeable when backing and turning at low speeds.
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. While driving various speeds, the steering wheel, accelerator pedal, and center console experienced excessive vibration. The vehicle was taken to country chevrolet (11 e. Lee hwy, warrenton, va), but the cause of the failure was unable to be determined. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 200.
The rack and pinion is not working on the power steering - chevy wont cover because the truck has been lifted.the truck was lifted the day truck was purchased and it only has 5196 miles on it.took it to 3 lift shops and all said nothing is wrong with the lift and their own lift person said the lift was done perfect.

The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. While driving above 60 mph, the lower section of the steering wheel and the driver's seat constantly shook and vibrated. The vehicle was taken to south charlotte chevrolet (9325 south blvd, charlotte, nc) where the tires were replaced and balanced; however, the failure continued. The vehicle was taken to burns chevrolet (2515 cherry rd, rock hill, sc) where the failure was confirmed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. Started to hear clunking noise around 15,000 miles. The noise started to get worse as time went by. First it was just when driving up my driveway then it was while driving or even stationary pushing down on the rear bumper. Found that the leaf springs were cracked but it wasn't visible while they were on the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the contact heard an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to hood automotive amite chevrolet located at 11239 la-16, amite city, la 70422, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the leaf springs needed to be lubricated and torqued to specs. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,010.
My truck barely has 17k miles and i noticed everytime i hit a bump i sounds like my suspension is all [xxx] up both front and back i honestly can't believe that they can sound like if they were 150k worned out shocks.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated while hauling a trailer, the vehicle started to swerve uncontrollably. The failure was experienced numerous times while hauling a trailer. The vehicle was taken to several unknown dealers for inspection however, the dealer was unable to locate the failure or the cause for the issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 41,300.
The front passenger side ball joint failed. It is a pressed fitting and it came apart.this truck has only 25,000 miles on it.noted a clunking noise in front end, most notable while backing .
I bought this truck brand new from the dealer, i have 70 miles on it, the truck shakes at 75-85 mph, dealer says it ok. I paid 40k for this and its not ok with me.
Went to turn into parking stall and everything shut off and the doors locked. Radio, lights, engine everything turned off.next day turned into a drive thru and it flickered and came up with service stabli trak. I talked with a place that could hook up my truck to see if anything was wrong.they couldnt find anything.they said they drove the truck around and nothing happened.i left and it shut completely down once and flickered twice.im hoping this is covered under warranty.im at 43000 miles.help!
Radiator started leaking at 40,000 miles. Leaking at a weld where tube connect to side tanks.
In april 2018, i purchased a new 2018 chevrolet 1500 silverado. In november of 2018 i noticed an unacceptable amount of corrosion on the chassis. In march 2019, the corrosion has increased to the total front of my chassis rusting. Note: the markers used as a reference for the manufacture to assemble the vehicle were still present, indicating a sharply marker had adhered to the truck better than the noxrust coating. Note: i clean my vehicle regularly( every two weeks). I took my vehicle to two separate chevrolet dealerships to no avail. They stated that the warranty did not cover standard damage to the paint. The fault was not damage to the paint, rather the wax coating simply did not hold up. According to the shop records, my truck was still within the 3 year/36,000 mike bumper to bumper warranty measuring at 30,521 miles. Please see the attached photos for more detail.
The door locks create a life safety issue. I locked my truck and went into a store leaving an adult passenger in the truck. I came out with packages and asked the passenger to unlock the door. Neither the door lock switch or the handle would allow her to unlock the doors. There is absoltely no way a passenger can get out for any reason if the doors are locked and they don't have the keys. The dealer say this is part of the security system. The owners manual doesn't give any instruction on how to disarm this. Passenger left in truck without the keyes with the doors locked is in a death trap built by chevrolet.
I bought this 2018 silverado brand new 20 miles on it i had problems since the first day i drove out of the dealership truck has loud noise inside the cabin coming fryghe doors 6 months after the gauges are not reading accurately took back to the dealership and they kept for a month they fix the gauges bug the noise still happening worst truck ever for 40 k i own a 2004 and the inside is really quietalso the paint is chipping the dealership says it's cause the driving conditions i would understand if it was in the front of the truck but paint is chipping in the side and back of the truck i did my research and look on youtube and there's a lot of people complaining about this chevrolet should really look into this before we all go and trade it in for a fordi have pictures of this i'll try to post it if i can look at the gauges even when the truck is off
The ac condenser cracked and wouldn't blow cold air. The truck is 2018 and has only 50000 miles
Consistent failure with ac condensor for 2014 thru 2019 chevrolet trucks. So common, should have been fixed or replaced.
Occasionally on my dash info screen a message pops up saying to keep your eyes on the road, in order to dismiss the message you have to take your eyes off the road and touch an ok button on the screen. It is hard to do this safely while driving. The message does not time out and covers the entire screen. There must de a way to disable this or to have it time out. It is ironic that you have to take your eyes off the road. I have tried the button on the steering wheel that dismisses other messages and it does not work for that one. This should be able to be fixed easily with a software update.
Shaking in the front at speeds over 40mph when there is a slight acceleration, that does stop when you take the foot off the gas. The shaking seems to get more violent at higher speeds, and so far the dealer has been unable to find the cause.
I purchase a 2018 chevrolet silverado in november of 2018 that was defected. Took it to the dealership 3 times for repair for the same problem. Dealership couldn't fix it so they traded it for another 2018 silverado. The 2nd truck has the same problem with the transmission. It's makes a grinding vibration between 40 and 50 mph and it makes a sound like something is going to come apart or something is getting ready to fall out.dealership huffines chevrolet in lewisville,tx saids it's my driving habits. General motors stated the problem go's away over time. If problem go's away over a period of time, why did it go away on the 1st truck. Transmission is defected and they know it. At this point all i want is my money back. I've been frustrated for 6 months over my truck. It's unsafe to drive because of grinding and vibration. I'm now going to continue to make payments on a unsafe defected vehicle.
The vehicle vibrates through the steering wheel and seat when traveling at highway speeds. The dealer balanced and checked road force on wheels after 5,000 miles and rebalanced two wheels. Vibration still exists and appears to be getting worse with more miles. The wheel balance didn't fix the problem.
Radiator leaking for no apparent reason. Truck has only 54k miles and is in excellent condition serviced according to schedule by chevrolet dealerships.
A rear tire blew causing loss of control and the vehicle struck a shale wall on the side of a highway and someone died in the vehicle.
I was changing a flat tire. Just as i got the spare onto the bolts, the jack snapped and the truck came crashing down.the vehicle was in my shop at home on a level concrete floor.emergency brake had been applied.
Ac blowing hotout vents .
On 02/27/2019 i purchased a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500 at cole chevrolet, cadillac in bluefield, west virginia i noticed that it was making noise when i drove it and a vibration with the truck. I thought it was the road surface causing the noise it was a lot worse at 70 mph. The more i drove the worse it got. I got to looking at the tires i noticed that the front passenger side tire had high and low spots on the outside edge. On 06/27/2019 i took the truck in for a oil change and tire rotation at the dealership that i bought it at, i showed the service department the front passenger side tire. I was told that the front end was out of alignment and they did alignment on the truck and they ordered a new tire. I drove the truck a little over 600 miles, i started getting the noise and vibration again. I got to checking the driver side tire and noticed the same thing on the inside edge. On 07/24/2019 i took the truck back to the dealership service center and told them that the same thing is happing with the front passenger side tire. The new tire was in and they changed it. Check the alignment again and told nothing is wrong with the tires that the tires are soft causing the wear. I learned later the the problem with the tires is called cupping. I called goodyear tire and talked with them about the problem. Goodyear had me take it to one of their service centers to check my truck. Goodyear service center told me that the front end is in alignment. They told me that the cupping on the tires is a mechanical problem. They advised me that the same thing will happen again if i put new tires on, if i didn't get the mechanical problem fixed. I called gm about this problem. They told me to take it back to the dealership and have them check it. I did on 09/09/2019 i told them i was having problems with the steering loosing traction go around curves was told nothing is wrong
The projection for vehicles seems to go off during heavy rain, forcing me to turn off the safety feature. If not my seat rumbles and the lights go off frequently

Purchased my 2018 silverado 1500 used with approximately 32500 miles on it. My air conditioning stopped working after only approximately 39000 miles on the vehicle. Manufacturer bumper to bumper warranty ends at 36,000 miles. This first happened when i got off of work and tried my to use my air conditioning.
This vehicle since i bought it, already had symptoms but they were minor, now the problem is bigger , the transmission does not have enough torque the vehicle loses strength and does not advance when you push the accelerator

Cruise control (speed) is not working, was but has quit
I was traveling south on i65 in tennessee, with the cruise control set at 76mph. I was near mile marker 27 on a steep incline when a car moved in front of me causing me to tap the brake to come off cruise control and slow down. When the car merged right, clearing my path, i touched the resume button to reach-engage the cruise control. I immediately felt the overdrive kick in, which seemed normal because i was going up hill, but it just went crazy. The engine raced to nearly 5000rpm, and i was going over 100mph with no ability to stop it. I turned off the cruise control using the steering wheel button, and it had no affect. I stepped on the brake, it had no affect. So i moved to the shoulder to avoid traffic, and i stepped on the brake harder. I saw the speedometer react, so i pressed the brake as hard as possible and managed to get it stopped and in park. The engine was still screaming at nearly 5000rpm, so i turned the key off. After 30 minutes, i started it, it ran fine, and i was able to complete my drive to pensacola without further incident. A truly terrifying experience. Thank you.
The contact owns a 2018 chevrolet silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 45 mph, the passenger's side rear window shattered without warning. The contact drove home and immediately called bosak chevrolet, buick, gmc (9911 w 300 n, michigan city, in 46360) but was offered no assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and days later the contact was informed that there would be no assistance since the vehicle was being repaired through the insurance company. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 7,500.
In cold weather the wiper blades freeze and do not clear the windshield causing the driver to not be able to see out the windshield. Even with the front defroster on high, the wipers blades freeze up.the wipers do not hit the entire windshield. During non freezing conditions.
The rear glass shattered while driving.nothing hit the window.i shattered on its own while driving on a smooth road.
Driving with my family on a state highway during a rainstorm and the front wipers stopped working on all speeds. The sprayer still worked and had rainx.after we stopped and ate breakfast the wipers made about 3 passes then parked themselves and haven't worked since.
While vehicle was parked, the temperature in the 30s-40s, i remote started it twice to warm it up. When i went out to load my things in the cab, i opened then closed the back driver side door and the rear glass exploded.

Air conditioning went out twice, brake pedal hard and wheel bearing noise from rear becoming louder after dealer said it was okay
I took my vehicle in for service and riverside chevrolet, they documented my vehicle tire pressure was reinflated to factory specs but they were not.
