Takata recall, gm has no fix for this. They sent out recall and are playing the numbers hoping not to have to fix this. Been over 2 years now. Takata also sent bankruptcy notice to me.

Remedy not yet available" for years while i drive around in a vehicle that the nhtsa has deemed unsafe, placing me and my family in danger. The us government, through must order gm to comply with repairs/replacement of these affected vehicles immediately and ensure compliance by significant and on-going fines for each vehicle not remediated until compliance.

Very upsetting that gm had to have known takata air bags are installed and we were never informed. I would have never known my vehicle wasn't safe,if i wasn't on this site researching safe car for my teen to drive. I would like to know exactly when our life's are important enough to have recall letters sent? should we all go out and purchase face shield helmets for the family while we wait??????i also read complaints regarding cracking in dash panel. I too have hairline cracking driver's side where airbag is installed. Please send recall letters as i called my local dealer and was told nothing can be done till i receive the actual letter. This new bulletin was posted months ago. It's now august 2016.

Ni got a notice about passenger side air bag being defective and jim barnard chevrolet can't help me in the replacement of the air bag inflator??? so, how many years will i have to wait til it's corrected. Being a road safety hazard, if my passenger is seriously hurt, due to gm not repairing the problem. Then i can sue gm for big bucks!! now that i have the proof of the defective air bag inflator.

On both the passenger and drivers side, the dashboard is cracked. On the passenger side the crack is located near the airbag and in the middle on the drivers side near the hump.

They are debtors, who filed chapter 11 for takata corporation. They stated take your vehicle to local dealership immediately to schedule a free repair on a defective or potentially defective airbag inflator. I've known about this issue for over a year now. General motors, takata corporation are in a legal battle over this airbag issue. In the mean time citizens of our great country are going to be impacted by this continue delay, and cost of all parties involved to prevail in court. The federal govt. Natl. Transportation safety board needs to intervene, and stop this airbag crisis. I would classify this matter as a natl. Security & safety threat because lives will be loss. Everyone involved are not accepting responsibility for this serious dilemma, due to ongoing litigation. I very rarely allow anyone now in my truck, minor fender-bender, airbag deployment, extraction metal shrapnel. Maybe i can get our washington dc senator of our district apply a little pressure on this matter, election time in 2018, look whathappened on 10/07/17, state of virginia , state of new jersey,bothrepublicans lossto democrats. Gm was given to 2017 on this air bag problem it , went will they be require to fix it is now 2020.the recall has not be completed.

While drivingon a two lane road at ~45 mph,i struck a deer on the front passenger side of the truck. The air bag deployed but did not come out of the center steering. Air bag dust was coming out of the back of the steering wheel, no air bag. I was very confused. The front bumper was pushed in ~2.5 inches. I am fortunate that i did not hit another car, since the airbag malfunctioned on deployment.

Every time we contact a dealer to get our airbags changed out we are told they don't have any to change out so nothing has been done to rectify the defect airbags in my truck.

There is a crack in the dash at the site of the passenger airbag. After further research, it appears that it is very common. I am afraid this area of the dash will fail upon airbag deployment causing injury. I do not know when the crack started.

I brought my truck into a certified chevrolet repair facility for routine maintenence and to have a repair done on my gas tank. Upon pickup of my vehicle,i noticed that my airbag alert light/ indicator was illuminated on my dashboard.i quickly re-entered the repair facility, and asked them why is my airbag light now illuminated, as it was not illuminated prior to this visit. The dashboard has cracked in 2 separate places due to cheap supplies. One of the cracks is near the airbag so if the airbag were to deploy parts of the broken dashboard would be thrown into the passenger and cause injury.

There is a crack on the dash that runs along the compartment housing the passenger side air bag.this crack could potentially tear the airbag upon deployment making it useless in the event of a crash.the dealership informed me this was a common occurrence and it could be replaced but that the replacement may crack due to body shifting during operation and sun exposure.now the dash is beginning to crack in other places (stress fractures).not sure when these cracks started whether the vehicle was in motion or stationary.

I bought my 2011 silverado 1500 with 8,000 miles on it from the dealership oct 2012. While under a bumper to bumper warranty my dash busted at the air bag. I reported this to the dealer the truck had around 16,000 - 18,000 miles on it. I was told the dash was made that way so no claim was made. Since then my dash has only gotten worse and worse. Now that its no longer under the bumper to bumper warranty they admit it needs to be replaced at my cost! i'm am so fed up with gm's product. Was driving in motion straight during icy conditions on freeway and truck slid out of control and i drove through ditch never stopped once and side air bags deployed and seat belts all froze up and ceiling fabric was ruined and torn from deployed airbags. I never hit anything and continued to drive right back onto highway.

I had closed one of my doors on the driver side with pretty strong force (slam), and the side curtain airbags deployed on both the driver and passenger sides. The seatbelt pre-tensioners also locked up. The airbag nearly missed striking my passenger who was seated in the passenger seat when it occurred.

My question is does someone have to be injured or killed before gm will replace the defective inflators. The fuse relay block on my 2011 chevrolet silverado 1500 with only 56,000 miles nearly caught fire when the rear window defroster and heated mirrors would not turn off even with the key removed. The problem was traced to a bad ground on circuit g200, this is part of the switch circuit that controls the mirrors and defroster. Gm has designed a circuit that has the ability to turn itself on even when the car is off and the key removed! but even worse gm refuses to pay for the parts or labor to repair my truck. I have made several calls to gm customer service and while initially encouraging gm has refused to stand behind their product. Battery died due to headlights coming on while car was parked. Lights can not be shut off from switch, opening the hood i detected electrical smell. I removed the fuse box cover and noticed water collecting and stains. I pulled several fuses and found three that melted. All this happened after a ice storm followed by a warming up and melting trend the water collected on the fender brace and leaked into under hood fuse block. I replaced the fuse block and all is ok. Though fuses were melted apart they still made contact and easily could have started a fire. I drilled holes into fender braces and redirected the water.

I have had an ongoing problem with the electrical system in my truck. First time it happened i was leaving my house and as soon as i got a few houses down the road my door locks started unlocking and locking themselves over and over and the speedometer gauge was all over the place along with the rpm gauge and the road up would turn off and on and the brakes would lock up and then release and it did this until i was able to pull over and turn the truck off. Once the truck was off it wouldn't start again. I had taken the battery out to be tested and it was fine. The alternator was fine and as far as i could see the negative and positive cables from the battery were clean too. I've traced the ground and it doesn't appear to be in bad shape either. Well after i was able to get it back to my house it sat for a few days and after a couple days it randomly started back up. One night on the way home from work, i was driving 60mph and all of the sudden my truck hydroplaned. I managed to get the truck straight and regain control of the vehicle. About a week later, as i'm heading home all of the sudden my abs, brake, and traction control lights all illuminated. The dic reads service stabilitrak and service traction control, then it will display stabilitrak off and traction control off. I had the codes read and my trouble code was p069e - fuel pump control module requested mil illumination and u0073 - control module communication bus a off. All those lights mentioned above have been on for about a month. I looked up information about the fpcm and found out about gm recall 14515, i entered my vin but the only recall that came up was for the takata airbag recall. As i read through the 14515 recall, i feel my truck is affected by it because, while driving the truck my speedometer jumps all around and is not stable. Also, when i try to accelerate, it feels like the engine stalls and there's no power there. Other times, it will down shift to increase rpms, but then soon shift gears into a higher gear then shift back into a low gear and repeat this until i let off the pedal. My tow haul mode will not stay engaged, cruise control will not stay engaged, and most of the time my truck won't even start when trying to use the remote start, instead lights just flash as i'm holding down the start button on the key fob. The truck feels really sluggish almost like there's no power, it seems like it hunts for the right gears while driving. Overall it just feels unsafe to drive.

My traction stability light came on. Took it to the dealership where they charged me $100.00 to diagnose it and tape a sensor. A week later it came on again, i looked this issue up on the internet and everybody is having these problems. Why is this not a safety recall? i have less than 46,000 miles on my vehicle, i should not be having this issue. Gm better do something about this.

My traction control light and abs light came on and the messages to service both of these systems are in my information center. My brakes are now dragging the rotors due to this problem. This is a major safety concern and a recall needs to be implemented to correct this issue. This started while driving down the highway.

Got to friends house changed #1 spark plug all better now at least for 1,000 miles then will have to change it again. The truck i purchased has a max towing package that is supposed to safely tow 10,600# in crew cab configuration.i have a 28' pace daytona trailer that weighs under 8,000# as i tow it. Dash gauges and lights turn off and on while in park, driving, and stationary. This typically can be fixed by turning the truck all the way off and back on but that is not possible when driving. This occurs about 1-2 times per day

Parking the vehicle on the side of the road and several ignition cycles have in the past have resolved the issue.this is a known issue with gm vehicles using a drive by wire throttle body and it has been recalled on other model years.

Airbags and nothing up front works

Stability control alarm blinking ,traction control alarm blinking,, speedometer going erratic, brake lite staying in alarm,cruise control dropping out,power loss temporarily. Shifting between gears (auto xmission) was very rough.this was an electrical systemthat grew steadily worse. Gm dealership had to replace the ebcm, and the chassis wiringharness. Severe corrosion. Vehicle never driven in salted roads,never flooded,never driven thru water. The location of the ebcm is poorly designed. Dealership said they have never seen a module this corroded,as it was in pieces when they pulled and opened it. I waited 4 months to get it fixed, as a early mechanic saw an electrical fault, but couldn't pinpoint it as it wasn't staying in fault. He said it needed to get worse before it could be properly diagnosed. Had to bring to dealer for repair as it got progressively worse. Cost me $1878.36 to get repaired.

In june of 2019 my vehicle was brought into begnal motors in kingston ny with the check engine light on. There was also a warning for the stabiltrax system and low oil pressure. I brought it to begnal motors because that is where i purchasedthe vehicle. The vehicle was still under warranty at this point. They being a dodge dealer then sent the truck over to romeo chevy who diagnosed it as an engine misfire. They had the truck for two months for the repair which the warranty covered. I got the truck back and soon after the engine light came back on. At this point the vehicle was no longer under warranty. It took the vehicle to my local mechanic absolutely auto in new paltz ny. They send a code for the oil pressure sensor and the o2 sensor where showing up. They replaced both sensors. After the work was done the oil pressure sensor still wouldn't clear and the engine light came back on. The mechanic told me that these sensors are known to have problems on the silverado. He then rechecked he's work to make sure there was a new screen on the sensor and there was. The code(p0521 i believe)still wouldn't clear. He then referred me to take the vehicle back to romeo chevy because they had done all the work on it previously. I brought the truck back to romeo and they did a complete diagnostic test and got no answers. They then did anther oil change and an oil pressure test with no result on clearing the oil pressure code. Romeo chevy has at this point had my truck for another three months unable to diagnose the problem. They now say i need a new engine and that the oil pressure issues cannot be fixed. Their service rep told me they had another silverado recently with similar issues and they had to replace the engine in that vehicle. I would appreciate some help in this matter the vehicle has only 105000 miles and i am being told it needs a new engine because of oil pressure.

I've had to replace the engine mounts on my chevrolet silverado 1500 twice, now i'm getting ready to replace for a third time. The engine mounts must have a defect with the material that are used to make them.

The engine in this vehicle burns/vaporizes oil at a rapid pace.i have a 2011, 114k miles, and had to replace the pistons to the tune of $5400 - chevrolet would not help with costs.6 yr old vehicle, just over 100k miles and have to replace the pistons.. I had kept up all scheduled maintenance at the dealership.have a "warranty forever" , life time power train warranty, and denied my claim because it was due to 'wear and tear'.how can my 6 yr old, 114k mile vehicles essentially need a new engine? chevrolet should be disgusted with themselves. The fuse relay block on my 2011 chevrolet silverado 1500 with only 56,000 miles nearly caught fire when the rear window defroster and heated mirrors would not turn off even with the key removed. The problem was traced to a bad ground on circuit g200, this is part of the switch circuit that controls the mirrors and defroster. Gm has designed a circuit that has the ability to turn itself on even when the car is off and the key removed! but even worse gm refuses to pay for the parts or labor to repair my truck. I have made several calls to gm customer service and while initially encouraging gm has refused to stand behind their product. Howard the customer service representative at gm couldn't disclose to me the amount of financial help they offered the dealership, it turns out they didn't offer any help at all. The automatic belt tensioner pulley is in the process of going out. The pulley itself is slowly suffering from a high pitched whining noise which is caused by bearing failure. With the current mileage the part in question shouldn't by any means be failing, the tensioner works fine but the pulley wobbles a bit too much. If the pulley continues to wobble more and finally results in catastrophic failure it can shred the serpentine belt which will render the vehicle useless or even become a danger to any and all occupants in the vehicle especially if it fails on the highway. If the belt goes out it can bend other pulleys or shear off pulleys, bolts, or even bend the harmonic balancer (engine vibration dampener) which would result in a blown or seized up engine. I'll also add that the belt could cause a fire if it gets wedge between other spinning pulleys at the time of the pulley's bearings overheating and the pulley either breaking off or causing the belt to shred.

I have had an ongoing problem with the electrical system in my truck. First time it happened i was leaving my house and as soon as i got a few houses down the road my door locks started unlocking and locking themselves over and over and the speedometer gauge was all over the place along with the rpm gauge and the road up would turn off and on and the brakes would lock up and then release and it did this until i was able to pull over and turn the truck off. Once the truck was off it wouldn't start again. I had taken the battery out to be tested and it was fine. The alternator was fine and as far as i could see the negative and positive cables from the battery were clean too. I've traced the ground and it doesn't appear to be in bad shape either. Well after i was able to get it back to my house it sat for a few days and after a couple days it randomly started back up. Took it to the local chevy dealership and they said there is no problem everything is good and they couldn't recreate the problem. They said it could be the aftermarket head unit. Well once i got my truck back the head unit no longer works or gets power? well now a month later same problem and the truck is totally dead but battery and etc is fine.

This is a dealer demo vehicle, first 2235 miles were demo. During my first morning (12hours after picking up at dealer) of ownership i was descending down a hill with the cruise on, and the vehicle proceeded to over speed approximately 5-7mph. I travel this hill both ways to/from work daily and this happens everytime. I though this might be an abnormal adjustment within the computer/etc so while taking in to the dealer for a tpms (tire pressure monitor system) issue i mentioned the overspeed issue to the service write up and they said that it was normal. I don't agree, but maybe it is. It does adjust back to normal cruise set speed but is unique. I had a 2002 dodge ram 1500 previously and it did not do this, and i have drove otr (over the road) semi-trucks and know the difference with overspeed being normal and abnormal. I would like this to be looked into, as it could be a hazard that could lead to unsafe situation.

Dash gauges and lights turn off and on while in park, driving, and stationary. This typically can be fixed by turning the truck all the way off and back on but that is not possible when driving. This occurs about 1-2 times per day

Battery died due to headlights coming on while car was parked. Lights can not be shut off from switch, opening the hood i detected electrical smell. I removed the fuse box cover and noticed water collecting and stains. I pulled several fuses and found three that melted. All this happened after a ice storm followed by a warming up and melting trend the water collected on the fender brace and leaked into under hood fuse block. I replaced the fuse block and all is ok. Though fuses were melted apart they still made contact and easily could have started a fire. I drilled holes into fender braces and redirected the water.

I looked up information about the fpcm and found out about gm recall 14515, i entered my vin but the only recall that came up was for the takata airbag recall. As i read through the 14515 recall, i feel my truck is affected by it because, while driving the truck my speedometer jumps all around and is not stable. Also, when i try to accelerate, it feels like the engine stalls and there's no power there. Other times, it will down shift to increase rpms, but then soon shift gears into a higher gear then shift back into a low gear and repeat this until i let off the pedal. My tow haul mode will not stay engaged, cruise control will not stay engaged, and most of the time my truck won't even start when trying to use the remote start, instead lights just flash as i'm holding down the start button on the key fob. The truck feels really sluggish almost like there's no power, it seems like it hunts for the right gears while driving. Overall it just feels unsafe to drive.

I am original owner, purchased new 12/30/11, and vehicle has always been well cared for and maintained.it is a 2011 and only had 52,976 miles.i notice a gas odor and gas dripping underneath vehicle, with a hesitation in starting vehicle.vehicle was brought to whiteman chevrolet in glens falls, ny.their diagnosis was fuel pump rotted and leaking, and fittings rotted into plastic lines.they replaced fuel pump, lock ring, level sensor, and both lines off pump.total cost was $1318.11.they stated these parts were corroded from weather and road salt, and not covered by any warranty or recall.i wrote a complaint to gm chevrolet customer assistance center.they assigned a case number 8-3967027450 and advisor 'deanndra' to investigate.her investigation concluded that the parts that were replaced had been corroded by weather and road salt in my area.she stated there are no other complaints of this nature on file to indicate this being a problem, so this case is closed.

When slowing for a red light or stop sign there is a noise like bad break pads swooshing as though intermittent contact is being made. Brakes ,pads,hubs ,seals and rotors inspected by cert. Mech. Sound appears to come from under center of undercarriage in vicinity of transmission tail shaft. I have had 3 or 4 incidents when putting truck in gear it jerks backwards enough to feel it. When stopped at a stop light or stop sign on a road that has an incline, when removing my foot from the brake to the gas pedal, the truck rolls backwards and will not stop at all unless the brake is re-applied or the gas pedal can be pushed before the vehicle rolls too far back.talked to dealer and had vehicle in to be checked and they stated that the transmission was designed that way to eliminate stress on the transmission and it was meant to free roll for a short distance.this is an unsafe condition as vehicle could roll backwards into another vehicle, person, or object.on a very steep incline, the vehicle kept on rolling backward for several feet and unless i put my foot on the brake or gas it will continuing to roll backwards.

I am currently left to cover the cost of this while the dealership refuses to acknowledge the issue despite the recall.

I purchased vehicle use, with 384 miles.vehicle transmission became very loud, whining, growling, making clunking noise when shifting; downshifting at times produced runaway shifting, clunking and slipping.took it to one chev. Dealer and service writer said he had a chev p.u. Just like mine and it didn't make those noises.wentback again anddealer found a service bulletin that applied to my transmission. Was driving in motion straight during icy conditions on freeway and truck slid out of control and i drove through ditch never stopped once and side air bags deployed and seat belts all froze up and ceiling fabric was ruined and torn from deployed airbags. While drivingon a two lane road at ~45 mph,i struck a deer on the front passenger side of the truck. The air bag deployed but did not come out of the center steering. Air bag dust was coming out of the back of the steering wheel, no air bag. I was very confused. The front bumper was pushed in ~2.5 inches. I am fortunate that i did not hit another car, since the airbag malfunctioned on deployment.

My problem started around october 25, 2014, a week before i took it to the dealership.. The back brakes started to chatter when i applied the brakes.it was coming from the back brakes not the front..the dealership told me the inspection showed the lr wheel cylinder leaking heavily and contamination shoes.rr also seeping.nec to replace rear wheel cylinders and bleed system.replaced rear shoes and cleaned affected areas.resurfaced drums and reassembled.i paid $514.74 for this, and with a reward card, i got $15.00 off,bringing the total to $499.74.i talked to the service mgr. From hamilton chevrolet on 11/7/14, and he said he would see if he could get me a refund for half of the charge, and should get the check from gm in about two wks.i feel that this is a gm problem, and with only 35, 574 miles on my truck this should not have happened.i am a 73 yr. Old retire, and having to pay for this repair really set me back.i have owned many gm vehicles, and have never had any problems.i take care of my vehicles, and make sure they are serviced regularly.i would appreciate it if you could look into this, and get back to me.thank you.

Badly rusted engine and under body frames ,transmissioncooler and cooler lines rusted away.4 wheel drive linkage. Front disc rotors had 3/16 thick flaked rust, coolant hoses clamps rusted away causing coolant loss. Transmission dipstick gripl rusted off. I was driving and was pulling into a parking spot and the vehicle accelerated instead of slowingdown and coming to a stop causing it to collide with the brick building i do not what the truck speeded up to but both of the airbags went off and i missed a little 5 year old girl by about 2 inches.

My traction control light and abs light came on and the messages to service both of these systems are in my information center. My brakes are now dragging the rotors due to this problem. This is a major safety concern and a recall needs to be implemented to correct this issue. This started while driving down the highway.

1 owner. Never driven on salted roads(south louisiana).live 100 miles from coastline,not in a saltwater environment.or driven in water other than rain. Had to replace the module, and thevehicle chassis wiring harness.total repair was $1,830.39 for parts and labor. The dealer reported to me that the design/installation location of this moduleis flawed, and a faulty design allowedmoistureto get into the module thru the connector.which also resulted in the wiring harness connectionsinto the ecbmalso becoming corroded.. Dealer also told me that this faulty design will eventually becomea recall,and for me to keep myinvoice of this repair, as to be able to claim a reimbursement for this repair.

While leaving our house to go to work the rear differential signal/ anti skid dashboard came on and the truck refused to go. It had not power. We had to replace the sensor. After that the stabilitrak and the anti skid and the abs light keeps coming on taking away my anti lock brakes and making my car unsafe to drive. I also haul my horse so it is too dangerous to move my horse anywhere when this service light keeps coming on. It has not come on while hauling anything. It comes on randomly with absolutely no weight in or on the truck. This has happened 3 more times within the last month.

First time it happened i was leaving my house and as soon as i got a few houses down the road my door locks started unlocking and locking themselves over and over and the speedometer gauge was all over the place along with the rpm gauge and the road up would turn off and on and the brakes would lock up and then release and it did this until i was able to pull over and turn the truck off. Once the truck was off it wouldn't start again. I had taken the battery out to be tested and it was fine. The alternator was fine and as far as i could see the negative and positive cables from the battery were clean too. I've traced the ground and it doesn't appear to be in bad shape either. Well after i was able to get it back to my house it sat for a few days and after a couple days it randomly started back up. Took it to the local chevy dealership and they said there is no problem everything is good and they couldn't recreate the problem. They said it could be the aftermarket head unit. Well once i got my truck back the head unit no longer works or gets power? well now a month later same problem and the truck is totally dead but battery and etc is fine.

I have a 2011 chevrolet silverado 1500 lt., vehicle was stationary when tried to start the engine, the ignition key would not move in start position, all panel lights came on fine. Had towed to dealer who diagnosed steering column was bad causing the ignition to not turn. Steering column and ignition had to be replaced. It was repaired. Issue left me stranded. Dealer said no recall. With steering being a major safety item, i was surprised there had not been a recall. Never had any other problems and bought this vehicle brand new.

The truck i purchased has a max towing package that is supposed to safely tow 10,600# in crew cab configuration.i have a 28' pace daytona trailer that weighs under 8,000# as i tow it. While drivingon a two lane road at ~45 mph,i struck a deer on the front passenger side of the truck. The air bag deployed but did not come out of the center steering. Air bag dust was coming out of the back of the steering wheel, no air bag. I was very confused. The front bumper was pushed in ~2.5 inches. I am fortunate that i did not hit another car, since the airbag malfunctioned on deployment.

I bought my 2011 silverado 1500 with 8,000 miles on it from the dealership oct 2012. While under a bumper to bumper warranty my dash busted at the air bag. I reported this to the dealer the truck had around 16,000 - 18,000 miles on it. I was told the dash was made that way so no claim was made. Since then my dash has only gotten worse and worse. Now that its no longer under the bumper to bumper warranty they admit it needs to be replaced at my cost! i'm am so fed up with gm's product. There have been several lawsuits that's been taking out on them for this issue. "if i get in a wreck the passenger air bag will send sharp plastic into my passengers face.. My farther has a 2010 silverado 1500 with 50,000 miles on it and his is also busted the same way at the air bag. This is a huge know quality / safety issue that needs to be immediately recalled at gm's cost. I paid $28,000 for my new truck and less then a year its falling apart..

My front driver side top control arm broke when i hit a pole on the rear of my truck. It snapped off at the ball. I was in a parking lot and side swiped a pole at about 5 mph. Should not have snapped a part in the front of the truck!there is a massive amount of corrosion under my truck. Even behind the rear tail light which shouldn't have been exposed, there's rust. This truck has more rust that trucks that are 30 years old.

Battery died due to headlights coming on while car was parked. Lights can not be shut off from switch, opening the hood i detected electrical smell. I removed the fuse box cover and noticed water collecting and stains. I pulled several fuses and found three that melted. All this happened after a ice storm followed by a warming up and melting trend the water collected on the fender brace and leaked into under hood fuse block. I replaced the fuse block and all is ok. Though fuses were melted apart they still made contact and easily could have started a fire. I drilled holes into fender braces and redirected the water.

The crack originated early on and was minimal and i was advised by the dealership that this was due to warping and not an issue with gmc pickups. I've come to find out from chat boards and other friend, coworkers and family that they have similar issues with their gmc dashboards on both pickup trucks and suv vehicles.

Very upsetting that gm had to have known takata air bags are installed and we were never informed. The repair required the complete replacement of the driver side door panel at considerable expense. The potential for safe egress from the vehicle in an emergency is of concern.

Dashboard cracks at the passenger side air bag. This was repaired under warranty in 2014. The dash has cracked again in the same place. Should the passenger side air bag deploy, i feel it could be a serious safety issue.

I have a 2011 chevrolet silverado 1500 z71 and the dash board is cracking around the passenger side air bag.i have taken this to my gm dealer and the service manager took photos and told me that he would get back to me but has not. I have made numerous attempts to try and get him to help me with getting this repaired through gm and he shows no concern. Vehicle has sustained to impact that would cause this.

My truck is in great condition and is parked in our garage or works covered garage 90% of the time.so way has the dash cracked everywhere? i see on line that this is a common problem and has been blamed on leaving in the sun but my truck isn't in that category. One morning, my daughter and i was getting in the truck so i could drop her off at school. We got about a mile down the road and started hearing a rattle. Once we made it to a stop sign, i looked around in the truck and found the problem. There are 2 cracks going down the right side of the gauge cluster on the dash. As well as another crack on the left back corner of the airbag on the passenger side dash. I'm very particular about my truck. I keep it very clean. I've never placed anything on the dash/window area to cause the cracks. That morning it was cold out, probably around 30 degrees. It was very discouraging that when i called to ask about the replacement, (during that time, i still had my warranty from where i had bought the vehicle) i was told that it would not be covered, and would need to be paid out of pocket. I was raised as a chevy man, i believe they make amazing vehicles. For this not to already have been an issue to had fixed due to the large amount of people having the same issue is outrageous.it is obviously a safety issue. Since the entire center dash is weak from being cracked on each side, i feel it could potentially cause the airbag to fail in the front or even worse is injure who is sitting in the middle seat in the back. (daughter sits in that spot due to age.)please, do something to fix this issue. It's clear that it's a problem and it could potentially save a life by being proactive about the situation. Chevy has always been dependable, don't let your loyal customers down.

I have a 2011 chevy silverado extended cab and after 37,000 miles of driving my truck i notice three cracks on the dashboard.one on the driver side and two on the passenger side right above the recalled air bag.i have a friend with the same model and he told me the same thing about his truck.he has two cracks in the dash.i have ask the dealer about any recalls on the dashboard for cracking and they said that's a normal thing that happens on trucks.really!i spend $28,000 on a truck and now i am told if i want my dash fixed i have to pay for that!this is very concerning to me because of the safety bag.what will happen if the passenger bag deploys and pieces of dashboard go flying with the force of the air bag or if the cracks itself deflates the air bag.i hope a recall is done soon for the dashboards!

Dash cracking above passenger airbag. Nothing hit or was dropped on dash, came out one day and there the crack was.

Was driving in motion straight during icy conditions on freeway and truck slid out of control and i drove through ditch never stopped once and side air bags deployed and seat belts all froze up and ceiling fabric was ruined and torn from deployed airbags. I never hit anything and continued to drive right back onto highway.

Dash has several cracks through out, above the glove box and now it's above the radio.it started out with a small crack above the glove box and continuing in other locations. A couple of the cracks happen while the truck was parked.

When attempting to start vehicle i stop leave it in start position and it will start by itself when not attempting to start. After this when put into gear it will shut off when this happens.

I am one of the many that has a cracking dashboard that gm has refused to fix. Mine is above the passenger side airbag. Takata recall. For the past year plus, the dealer (paradise/cadillac) in temecula ca. Has refused to repair the airbag and inflator on recall. My vehicle has been given high priority because of its age and high temperature where i live. I stop driving it because of fear for myself and family. It only has 24,500 miles in it.

A sunshade has been used since day one and the truck has never been off-road or in a position to where this should happen. Gm should be held liable and fix this problem. Now a $49,000 truck seems very cheap and am worried about the safety of passengers.

I bought truck in oct2021 and it was not sold to me in working order as wad told to me they took my money and they were done.

On friday (august 21, 2020), we had an appointment at a shop to have brakes replaced and tire rotation done. The mechanic had called and asked me to come to the shop to come look at the underside of the truck. Upon arriving, he showed me the frame. It is rusted all the way through from in front of the rear tires and all the way back. The rest of the frame is in good condition, however.. The mechanic at this point would not work on the vehicle due to the condition and its compromised safety. As of right now, the vehicle can't be driven due to safety issues. This vehicle is only 9 years old and has been driven less than 20,000 miles in the 3 years we have had it. It is mainly driven to work which is less than 2 miles away. The truck has been serviced for regular routine care always. The truck was purchased in 2017 by a gm certified dealer with only 55,xxx miles. It currently has 74,xxx miles and is now basically junk due to the condition of the frame!!

Myself as well as many others dash's are cracking randomly in our chevrolet silverado pickups. Mine is cracked just to the upper left of the passenger airbag. I have reached out to gm and they have acknowledged an issue have offered to pay $590 towards the repair. I am not satisfied with that and there are several other thousand people that have the same issue with the same results or worse. I would really like to see gm be held accountable for this as i believe this is an safety concern with the passenger airbag deploying in an emergency. While driving, the stabiltrak,abs lights come on and the vehicle powers down and barely moves. This has happened on several occasions, mostly during cold weather, although it has happened in warm weather at highway speeds, creating a dangerous situation while trying to maneuver out of traffic. On one occasion, the vehicle was towed to a chevrolet dealership and when checked over they reported that nothing could be found. The vehicle operated normally after sitting there all night.this is dangerous!i have read many instances of the same thing happening to other silverado owners. Please check into this.this has happened at least 5 times, the latest around january of 2019.

1 owner. Never driven on salted roads(south louisiana).live 100 miles from coastline,not in a saltwater environment.or driven in water other than rain. Cruise control dropping out,automatic transmissionnot shiftingwhen supposed to. Traction control dropping out, servicemessages cycling in and out--traction control, stabilitrac , anti-lock brakes, check engine light, red brake light comes on and off. Speedometer going crazy. Brought vehicle to gm dealer for inspection/repair. Cause-internal failure of ecbm-electronic brake control module, due to corrosion in the connector due to waterintrusion. Had to replace the module, and thevehicle chassis wiring harness.total repair was $1,830.39 for parts and labor. The dealer reported to me that the design/installation location of this moduleis flawed, and a faulty design allowedmoistureto get into the module thru the connector.which also resulted in the wiring harness connectionsinto the ecbmalso becoming corroded.. Dealer also told me that this faulty design will eventually becomea recall,and for me to keep myinvoice of this repair, as to be able to claim a reimbursement for this repair.

Speed control (cruise) does not hold.while going down an incline from the mountains, cruise control was set for 65 mph, and the vehicle increased speed to 85+ mpg before applying brake to slow down.called dealershipand took vehicle to be checked in regards to this incident, and they stated that due to the department of transportation, new emission standards that transmission was made not to hold so as not to increase carbon footprint.this causes a very unsafe condition when driving when the cruise control is engaged.

I was making a turn while pushing on the gas pedal lightly, and all of sudden the gas pedal went to the floor without pressing on it and the pedal got stuck. The engine raced up to over 5000 rpm and about 60 mph around a turn because it would not slow down. I had too keep tapping on the gas pedal to release it. Also my foot was on the break.

**randomly at any given speed ** first the radio system will randomly turn off then moments laterā€¦ stabilitrak off flashes followed by abs and traction control lights on dash then suddenly my chevrolet silverado has a mind of its own ! the door locks will flicker uncontrollably , and the vehicle just suddenly has a loss of power while rpmsand gauges are continuously moving while you are unable to even move the vehicle .. This is a ongoing problem since 2019 , that no one seems to have an answer too .. Iā€™ve taken it to 3 different mechanics and still no answers ā€¦ when it first started happening it was super random and would happen a few times a day but then not happen for months on end then all of the sudden now it is happening several days a week .. Iā€™m currently scared to even drive it which is horrible considering the amount of money iā€™ve put into this truck .. It has only 100k miles but somehow i am stuck using my dads old truck with 330k miles on it which seems to be more reliable and is 12 years older ā€¦ sucks to pay over 500$ a month for ā€œ your dream vehicle ā€œ that you canā€™t even drive or get any real answers to what or where the problem is coming from ā€¦ seems that thousands of people online have the same problem but yet no one has any solution .. Now that iā€™ve almost been in 3 serious accidents i decided i have to say something, 2 of these times were over 70 mph on a california freeway !!! something must be done !

This is a dealer demo vehicle, first 2235 miles were demo. During my first morning (12hours after picking up at dealer) of ownership i was descending down a hill with the cruise on, and the vehicle proceeded to over speed approximately 5-7mph. I travel this hill both ways to/from work daily and this happens everytime. I though this might be an abnormal adjustment within the computer/etc so while taking in to the dealer for a tpms (tire pressure monitor system) issue i mentioned the overspeed issue to the service write up and they said that it was normal. I don't agree, but maybe it is. It does adjust back to normal cruise set speed but is unique. I had a 2002 dodge ram 1500 previously and it did not do this, and i have drove otr (over the road) semi-trucks and know the difference with overspeed being normal and abnormal. I would like this to be looked into, as it could be a hazard that could lead to unsafe situation.

One night on the way home from work, i was driving 60mph and all of the sudden my truck hydroplaned. I managed to get the truck straight and regain control of the vehicle. About a week later, as i'm heading home all of the sudden my abs, brake, and traction control lights all illuminated. The dic reads service stabilitrak and service traction control, then it will display stabilitrak off and traction control off. I had the codes read and my trouble code was p069e - fuel pump control module requested mil illumination and u0073 - control module communication bus a off. All those lights mentioned above have been on for about a month. I looked up information about the fpcm and found out about gm recall 14515, i entered my vin but the only recall that came up was for the takata airbag recall. As i read through the 14515 recall, i feel my truck is affected by it because, while driving the truck my speedometer jumps all around and is not stable. Also, when i try to accelerate, it feels like the engine stalls and there's no power there. Other times, it will down shift to increase rpms, but then soon shift gears into a higher gear then shift back into a low gear and repeat this until i let off the pedal. My tow haul mode will not stay engaged, cruise control will not stay engaged, and most of the time my truck won't even start when trying to use the remote start, instead lights just flash as i'm holding down the start button on the key fob. The truck feels really sluggish almost like there's no power, it seems like it hunts for the right gears while driving. Overall it just feels unsafe to drive.

My 2011 chevrolet silverado 1500 has unwanted acceleration.its been happening for apprx a month, on and off.on tuesday 10/4/2011 i was leaving my parking space at work, i had my foot on the brake as i was turning out of the space, the vehicle just took off - accelerating without touching the gas.i then hit the brake which stopped the vehicle.i then got on the highway - (i-94) to head home, while driving on i-94 my vehicle lunged forward nearly striking the vehicle in front of me.i then backed off and kept a safe distance in the event that it happened again, sure enough - my vehicle started accelerating on its own.i realized it was doing it and had enough distance between me and the other vehicles ahead, so i allowed the vehicle to take off.my silverado got up to about 1500 rpms at 60mph, i clearly had my foot off the brake and the gas, feet flat on the floor.i allowed it to accelerate on its own for apprx 1 minute but then had to stop.it is clearly driving itself.i drove the truck straight to the dealership and left it for the shop to look at the next day.the service dept could not re-create the problem, go figure.in the past month i've nearly hit several parked cars when pulling into parking spaces as the vehicle takes off accelerating, in these events i was also able to stop the vehicle w the brake.

Conditions: heavy misting rain, 32 deg f, lowering temperature, daytime.this is to report a design defect of the windshield defogging system.the defogging system operated as designed.there was no failure of the equipment.when the windshield defogger is selected this vehicles system automatically sets to outside air and turns off the airconditioning compressor at 32 deg f and below.on december 6th while driving during misting rain at slightly above freezing with the temperature slowly lowering i experienced a rapid and serious problem clearing the windshield of mist on the inside surface of the windshield as well as all other glass surfaces when the temperature fell below freezing and the airconditioning compressor cut off.despite using the windshield defogger at the maximum heat and fan setting i was forced to pull over to the side of the road because i could no longer see well enough to drive safely.selection of windshield defogging mode actually worsened the problem initially. I believe that the design of the system creates the potential (and in this case actual) danger of rapid loss of visibility to the outside of the vehicle with the possibility of a loss of effective control.

I own a chevrolet 2011 1/2 ton truck and i noticed days after i bought it that the right column between the windshield and the passanger window creates a blind spot for the driver that almost cost me an accident because i could not see a motocycle coming from my right in the intersection about to do a left turn.

There was no accident to my vehicle i purchased a new vehicle from a company and i have been having problems out of the vehicle since i made the purchase.the dealership replaced the tires, then replaced one of the rims but the problem still exist they also did a front end alignment, the service manager stated that he had no idea what to next to solve the problem, there is a shaking or vibration in the vehicle when it is driven.i have had several conversations with gm and still the matter hasn't been resolved.
