Started with abs warning light and brake light staying on the fuel gauge says low fuel and fuel gauge reads empty and the indicator that tells what gear the vehicle is in no longer visible.
Vehicle will just stop running.the fuel pump has been replaced.after being replaced it quit 15 miles from the dealership that repaired it.they could not diagnose.vehicle will start again after sitting several hours.they told us to drive until it quit again.frustrated, we took it to a more sophisticated dealership who also could not diagnose the problem and told us to drive it until it acted up again.the vehicle has quit 2 more times, but on the weekend but starts in a few hours.*la
My fingers were burnned when i touched the inside right-side wall of the ash tray in my 2002 chevrolet s-10 pickup. Later on i figured out it's a design flaw. When you drive the car more than 20 minutes at night, the illuminating light inside the ash tray heats the inside right-side wall to extremely hot, which has the potential to cause a fire. To prevent the bad thing happens, i keep the ash tray opened to let heat dissipate out.

Truck or vehicle shut down while driving.
Driver fell asleep while driving 75 mph, vehicle left the road, rolled a few times and caught on fire.driver suffered minor injuries.vehicle was totalled.consumer states that he doesn't believe that there was steering failure and feels that it probably was the fuel shut off mechanism (electrical)that failed, in which the gas continued to feed the initial fire.*scc
Computer chip constantly fails which causes a chain reaction of failures to occur.the truck is unreliable with various brake failures and constant towing back to the dealership.the dealership is patching the truck with minor repairs instead of actually doing a thorough inspection.please describe details. The contact owns a 2002 chevrolet s-10.when the vehicle is started, the abs indicator light remains illuminated.the park, neutral, and drive indicator lights illuminate while the vehicle is in park.when the vehicle is placed into drive, the lights dim.in addition, the fuel gauge shows that the vehicle is empty even when it is full of gasoline.the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer.the current and failure mileages were 107,000.
2002 chevy s-10 battery acid leaked.
Battery leaked battery acid to the point that the post completely detached itself from the battery unit.when explained to dealership was told that they see this problem very frequently with these vehicles.this left me stranded with no power.if i would have been actually driving when the cable disconnected it could have caused serious problems.
Truck started stalling, while at idol and when i put into drive. It as if it has no gas.
Vehicle has stalled 4 times at various speeds. Taken to dealer 4 times, fuel module/fuel filter, and instrument cluster were replaced. Did not remedy the problem. At this time dealer was replacing igniion switch. Consumer added that a new computer was placed in the truck and was told by the service dept. That they are 100% sure that this is the problem.(pickedtruck up on 25-jul-2002 and so far no problem) *scc
While driving, the owner smelled burning wires. The alarm went off, the windshield wipers started moving, and the horn started blowing inadvertently. Also, the air bag on the passenger side deployed.owner took the vehicle to an independent mechanic ,who inspected the vehicle.the owner contacted the manufacturer who instructed the consumer to take the vehicle to a g.m. Dealership. Provide further details. A mechanic inspected the vehicle and found had been run under the carpet on the drivers side and they were worn and corroded, the wires were the cause of all the electrical componets malfunctioning.
A/c fan either stops functioning or slows to low after extended periods (usually 20-25 minutes)running fan on high at max cool during periods ofhot (75-80 degrees) weather.turning fan and a/c off for a few minutes temporarily resolves problem. Dealer unable to diagnose unless they have vehicle in failure mode, which is usually impossible to accomplish. It acts almost as though the a/c system had an overload switch on it that temporarily shuts unit down.l.
2002 chev. S-10 ext. Cab, v6 auto. 88,xxx mi. 9/10/16 sunny, dry am mid 70's.southbound i 41 70mph engine suddenly stopped running. No prior indication of trouble, not overheated, no leaks. Other gauges were indicating normal. I had only driven5mi. On state hwy. Prior to driving 15mi. On interstate when engine stopped, v6 vortec 4.3l. Previous service to engine included water pump replacement 1 wk. Earlier by dealer. Now on side of road vehicle will not start, turns over, dash indicators, batt. Strong. This vehicle has 88,000 original miles, i am second owner, 2002 ext. Cab s-10. Towed to local chev. Dealer and they replaced maf (mass air flow) sensor, $477 parts and labor,+ tax, and suggested replacing fuel injector system. I declined injector replacement. Drove vehicle 5mi. On state hwy. Toward home when suddenly the engine stopped, as before.towed vehicle to gmc dealer who recommends replacing the icm (ignition control module) $375 part, it should arrive in a couple of days, and says it's definitely not the injectors. Just doing my fair share to boost the economy. It's all just a money grab anyway. I figure another $500-$1000 and it may run again. Solution : unkown as yet. Instead of carfax, we need a permanentlemon label on dealership doors/show room floor indicating any car or truck history with2 or more recalls and constant repairs, maybe gm should have failed (bankrupt). Toyota really isn't to goodeither. What a con game.
Had a check engine light at a startup. Code was p0305. Seen many owners are having this problem and many can not find the problem with car. California recalled this matter and the rest of the states did not.thanks
2002 chevrolet s-10. Consumer writes in regards to oil leaking onto the manifold. *ld
Consumer has brought vehicle back to the dealership three times for a creaking noise heard in the front end.also, consumercomplained that when taking foot off throttle vehicle will not slow down for a period of time.when driving with the air conditioner on,vehicle will not slow down. Vehicle overruns the cruise control from 3 to 6 miles per hour.*jg *nlm.
My chevy 2002 s10 pickup tailgate cables broke within 1 year and my air conditioner went out in june 2003....i'll never buy another chevy!! the tailgate hit my foot and bruised it good.
The consumer stated that the console/arm rest (in the open position) will expel the contents from the cavity onto the rear floor of the vehicle.scc
If large tires are placed on the rear and smaller tires placed on the front, the yellow and red abs light would come on.the consumer felt that a warning sticker should state this.the consumer also stated the service dealer was aware of the problem, but placed the tires on regardless.mrscc
Safety related item:stop lamps (brake lights) are not functioning due to faulty stop lamp switch after 37000 miles (just out of the manufacturers warranty period of 36000 miles).
Headlights do not stay adjusted, causing impaired vision. Dealer has repaired defect over six times but problem still exists.
Pushing the dome light over ride button, twice, turns off the headlights. This can make you panic untill you switch head lights on manually. On a dark road this can be very dangerous.
Computer chip constantly fails which causes a chain reaction of failures to occur.the truck is unreliable with various brake failures and constant towing back to the dealership.the dealership is patching the truck with minor repairs instead of actually doing a thorough inspection.please describe details. 1)fuel guage stuck at around 1/4 of a tank when 1/4 or below.had to put vehicle into neutral to get accurate reading.has ran out of gas when showing 1/4 of tank.taken to dealership - replaced fuel level sensor.problem was not fixed.took back again and other items were replaced.seems to be fixed, but it has only been 1 week.2)"popping" noise heard on the drivers side in the front end.took in same time as the first gasoline incident.replaced ball joint and greased front end.seemed fine until about 1 month later and then noise came back, along with a very bad "bouncing" in the front end that made it feel like the front drivers side tire was comming off.took back to dealership (same time as second gasoline visit)said that it was the "design of the vehicle" - but yet it never did this until then.dealership has been very cooperative.
Car is dangerous in that it misfires in higher speed conditions.chevy executive office and 2 dealers (o'connor & bob johnson in ny) refused warranty coverage after their 4th attempt failed to cure the problem.2 independent shops verified problem.chevy executive office (ms. Mann) refused to call independent mechanics for any information even though this would have helped with diagnosis.car is not even a year old with less than 4200 miles.
Fuel pump malfunctioned, causing fuel to pump back intofuel tank. Has caused a no start condition due to fuel not bypassing toengine. Consumer has contacteddealer. Please provide any further information.
I bought my 2002 chevy s10 truck in june of 2002.october 21, 2002 at 4035 miles the idler arm was replaced.january 2003 the heat sensor for the heater needed to be replaced, as the blower worked but the heat wouldn't.march 4, 2004 at 26, 345 miles the idler arm was replaced.also, the drivers door had to be adjusted not closing properly, the drivers side visor wasn't aligned and wouldn't lock in place needed to be adjusted.july 8th the fuel pump modulator needed to be replaced.i feel this is way to many problems for a new vehicle.
2002 chevrolet s10 has had to have new fuel pump module put on 03/19/03 and has now gone out again on 12/31/03.had leak in oil pan, leak in windshield on passenger side. The truck had 29,000 miles the first time the fuel pump went out and 55,000 this time when it went out. I feel that is entirely too frequent for fuel pumps to fail.
Fuel pump failed after 31k miles.chevrolet 2002 s10 pickup.
Broken fuel line below drivers seat.while standing outside of the vehicle, i reached inside and started the ignition, after which i saw an approaching fluid coming toward my feet. While waiting for the engine to warm-up, i loaded the vehicle with some personal items (lunch bag, coffee) and then got inside, closed the door and continued to let the engine warm-up.i asked my passenger if they too could smell gasoline. We both agreed that the smell was extremely strong at which time i opened the door to check the source. I saw that the approaching fluid i had seen on the ground earlier was now being pumped out at a great rate and immediately shut off the ignition and told my passenger to exit the vehicle due to a broken fuel line.there has been no work done on the vehicle prior to this event. Nobody has touched the truck and i am not aware of this being an earlier problem.needless to say we chose to drive another vehicle.this is an extremely serious and dangerous defect!!!thank god we weren't driving down the road when this happened. I will be looking at this as soon as i get home from work tonight.* update:in order to file this complaint, i needed the vin number... So i called my neighbor and he went to go get it and said that the vehicle is still leaking gasoline. I will probably be leaving work to secure the situation.
Truck started stalling, while at idol and when i put into drive. It as if it has no gas.
Loud thumping noise coming from gas tank area during sudden stops or accelerations. Also during normal stops and normal acceleration. Noise continues to present time.*nlm
Multiple parts replaced with no success - sending unit, level sensor, gauge, etc. Mr
The bolt of right side in the gas tank was missing when i sent the truck to fix in stocker chevrolet in 701 benner pike, state college, pa 16801, on 10/19/06. My vehicle is chevrolet s10 pickup, 2002, mileage 31k.
The contact owns a 2002 chevrolet s-10. While refueling the vehicle, the contact noticed that fuel was leaking. The dealer stated that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000. Updated 11/26/14the consumer stated the vehicle had two gas leaks.updated 10/5/2015
Myself and two friends have had problems with bad gasonline caps at approximately 10 years of vehicle life. The wear and tear over 10 years has diminished the seal capacity of the gasoline cap. The gasoline cap defect or normal wear/tear seems to result in evap cannisters becoming saturated, which results in an identified small leak in the system during smog check in ca. Perhaps, the coincidence of gas caps seals worn and evap cannister needing replacement at the same time with a few people is statistically insignificant, but the cost to replace a gas cap ~$30.00 and evap cannister ~$300.00 is significant. What advisories or improvements may be made in this area? i recommend three solutions: 1. Replacement gasoline cap schedule by manufacturer; 2. Notification to car owner to regularly check gasoline cap seals after 7 years by manufacturer; and/or 3. Federal government support manufacturers to improve the design of gasoline caps to last longer.
The o-rings in the fuel system are failing at the fuel tank, causing fuel loss and leakage, while driving.
Warning light does not come on when doors are ajar; truck is a crew cab.haschild safety locks.
2002 chevy s10 ls crew cab the door strikers caved into the frame on both sides drivers side and passenger side.this happened with in one day of each other. On photographed inspection the steel had ripped in the shape of the clip behind the door strikers an obvious engineering flaw in design,i took it to the dealer who acknowledged the obvious design flaw launched a complaint with photos he took as well. Chevy said the truck was to old, evidently the doors can fall off your truck in 8 years and chevy does not care. I had to weld the steel my self since the doors would not shut. Chevy will be hit with a class action lawsuit eventually when someone falls out of their crappy truck. Unlike toyota who is taking care of their customers chevy will just give you the middle finger. I will never buy another chevy truck unless it is a 74 or under.shame on chevy for selling shotty cars and trucks no wonder they were going out of business. Now my door lock on the drivers side won't lock the plastic seat handle snapped off and the visors on both side the plastic mirror hinges just crumbled bad plastic i can live with but door strikers falling into the frame i just can't condone that. The 4 wheel drive has never worked right since day one ,what a piece of junk. A real waste of money didn't even last 10 years. Customer no service at chevy was a waste of time and frustrating. I do not believe that a safety issue such as the door strikers ripping out is an issue of being to old it is a safety issue period and needs to be taken care of by chevy.
Tailgate of s10 flew off back of truck.
18 month old vehicle, paint peeling off in sheets down to baremetal on lower fenders and under doors on 2002 extended cab s-10, rusting in those areas. Tried to get correction for a year and a half.dealer and gm contacted, refused to fix, stated was normal wear and tear, my experience leads me to believe the metal was not properly cleaned before painting.never in my 70 years have i owned or seen a vehicle's finish peel off in sheets.i finally gave up and had rhino truck bed finish sprayed on fender edges, rocker panels and lower doors to stop the rusting.i will never buy another gm product because of the lack of service for this and other defects (broken latches and tailgate cables) on my s-10.
The mechanism to open the 3rd door on my chevy s10 pickup has broken three times.i have stopped replacing it, as it seems futile.this could present a safety hazard if someone is sitting in the back in the bench seat and there is an accident or fire.it would be very difficult for them to exit the vehicle (or be rescued from the seat), especially if the driver and/or passenger or incapacitated.
Drivers door latch has failed. No longer can latch, this could have been a issue at highway speeds of door coming open or rounding a curve. On 9-13-04 my 3rd door latch was also replaced due to breakage of handle .now to this date i have to replace the passenger door latch with the same failure of drivers door. The electronic system is not great and plastic latches. Some type of spring failure from dirt and water intrusion.
The contact owns a 2002 chevrolet s10.the contact stated that the handle on the third door is made of plastic.the plastic is not strong enough and has been replaced three times.he notified the dealer on all three occasions to have the handle replaced, but the failure persists.the dealer and the manufacturer stated that this will be the last time they replace the handle free of charge.the contact feels that this is a serious hazard because one would be unable to exit the vehicle due to the vulnerability of the handle.the current mileage is 27,000 and failure mileage was unknown.
The third door latch has failed three times on my 2002 s10 chevrolet pickup vin:1gcs19w629114870as follows:1st at 10,842 miles,2nd around 40,000 miles repaired on 10,842 miles and the third time today at 57,175.i believe this presents a sever safety hazard should there be a fire and someone was in the rear seat because they may not get out as the door will not open.this door latch is non-metal and apparently prone to failure.
Door handle failure.
I purchased this vehicle in new form from gallucci chevrolet in medina, oh.while still under warranty, the third door handle used to open the rear third door broke approximately three times.while still under warranty, i took it in the dealership to have it repaired on each occasion.when the vehicle ran out of warranty, the third door handle again broke, and to date has not been repaired due to cost.this incident apparently is widely known to be a problem with chevy, as the mechanics told me this is common in my vehicle, and upon speaking with others with the same vehicle, nearly every one has had the door handle break.this prohibits a third passenger from entering or exiting the vehicle or for me to open the back seat for groceries, etc.
The third latch broke on the vehicle.after being fixed the door opened, but will not open or release at the bottom catch.scc
My 3rd door latch has failed again!!! this is the 2nd time. The dealership i bought my truck from told me they keep a box load of these latches in stock because they break so often. Bad design!!!! chevy needs to step up and provide a reliable replacement. If my son was back there and there was an emergency i would be unable to open the 3rd door.
Third door on my 2002 chevy s10 pickup will not open,it was been fixed twice, and once again i am not able to open this door without extreme difficulty. Should i need easy access it would next to impossible to gain access quickly.
Third door latch breaks occasionally, preventing access, or egress to the rear seat.latch must then be replaced before door can be opened.a person in that rear seat would be trapped.part: door latch and handle replaced; old parts not available.
3 times my 3rd door latch has had to be replaced on my 2002 s10 pickup.
I have the same tailgate cable problem that every other s10 owner has. The problem is well described in the "gmspecial policy adjustment 06020".the dealer says my vin is not included in the recall or "special policy adjustment" and refuses to fix it.one cable is already broke inside and just connected by the outer plastic. The other is still holding for now.
Left cable on the tailgate broke and the gate fell to the ground causing the corner of the gate to bend and significant damage to the tailgate
As i opened teh tailgate to my s-10 crew cab the cable broke on both sides. There was no weight on the tailgate except the weight of the unit itself. I know the bigger trucks are recalled why are these not recalled. Looking into the broken protective coating around the cable, you can see where it is rusted thru. Please get this problem fixed before someone gets hurt.
(1) none(2) cable on tailgate latch broke.(latch2507f part number 15726085)i just noticed oneday that the cable was broken.no adverse consequences since i noticed the failure.(3) i replaced the tailgate latch assembly.i have the old parts.
2002 chevrolet s10 pickup.failure of tailgate cables. Within the past 2 months both tailgate support cables broke in the general location of the close position bend.both cables appear to be of iron material.i know other chevrolet trucks have a recall to replace this cable with a steel material cable. Why was the s10 not on this recall listing?it's the same cable as on units recalled?replacement cost = $90.00 per cable plus tax or $180.00 plus tax to replace a defective part - should not be a customer expense.
After lowering my s10 pick up truck tailgate i climbed onto it to get into the bed of the truck.both tailgate support straps broke in the middle of the strap. This caused the tailgate to drop lower to where it hit the top of the bumper.i was on my knees and fell off the tailgate.these are under a recall for the full sized chevrolet trucks but not the s10. Why?
Dt*: the contact stated while driving 30 mph on dry road conditions, an attempt was made to stop the vehicle with the emergency brakes.the hand brake was also applied but failed to engaged or slow down the vehicle.there was no warning signals prior to the incident.the service dealer was alerted and admitted that there were other vehicles of the same make and model with this problem.the manufacturer was notified and offered to analyze the vehicle.
2002 chevrolet s10.60,480 miles.manual transmission. 2wd.parking brake failed and truck started to roll backwards down the driveway.i was working near the truck and heard a loud pop, same as when manually releasing the brake.i looked up and the truck was rolling.i jumped in a applied the hydraulic brakes to stop the truck.parking brake pedal is totally without any resistance.something in the brake system is broken.
Sunshell blew out on transmission.
In cold weather the rubber boot on the manual transmission shift lever gets so stiff that it will force the shift lever out of gear if it is on a different side of the shift pattern from where it was for the extended period of cold.for example, if it is parked in 1st gear overnite in the cold, it will pop out of 2nd or 4th gear while under power unless i drive with my hand on the shift applying pressure to keep it in gear.this makes it difficult to steer at times and impossible to adjust other controls.dt
In 2003 with 17600 miles the reaction sun shell broke in my 2002 chevy s10 pickup.it was repaired under warranty. Onjanuary 27 2007with 56000 miles the same failure occurred.the truck has not been repaired and the part is still in the truck.
Vehicle jumps out of gear 2 and gear 4 while driving, when applying brakesvehicle pulls to the right. Dealer cut rubber boot around floorshift down to correct the defect;but, it did not solve the problem.
The vehicle was in park with the engine running, when all of a sudden the vehicle rolled backwards.. Consumer was injured when he tried to get back in the vehicle to stop it. *nlm
Dt*:the contact stated while attempting to back up the vehicle would not shift into reverse.this happened without warning.the vehicle was driven to the dealer where the transmission was replaced.
I have a 2002 chevy s10 ext. Cab pickup truck with a vortex 4.3 litre eng. With automatic transmission. While baking out of driveway i noticed i had no reverse gear, it is also slipping in all other gears. This truck has never hauled anything heavy and only has 49,500 miles on it . I got down to the stop sign and tried to proceed and the forward gears started to slip and i couldn't get out of the way of oncoming traffic and almost got hit by an oncoming car. I have heard and talked to many other people who own these vehicles with the 4l60e/4o65e transmissions. I feel these could be dangerous. They seem to all have the same sun shell and sun gear problems. I feel general motors should re-call them.
At 90 degrees or above the vehicle will , at times, lose power to the transmission making entering traffic a safety hazard. Engine rpm's are adequate but vehicle will not shift gears and accelerate. Dangerous condition when entering heafy traffic. Manufacturer technical assistance cannot assist dealer in fixing the problem. Dealer experianced this problem in a test drive but could not repair at this time.
Powertraun automatic transmission failure.vehicle was in park and would not go into reverse.could shift to "r" but vehicle would not go into reverse.vehicle had to be towed to certified transmission, lincoln, ne. Will be repaired.this retail business, is averaging 10 repairs a month on this make and model and failure.
While driving vehicle jumped out of gear causing vehicle to stop completely.
This 2002 chevy s-10 crew cab 4x4 is equipped with an electronic in dash buttons for 2 wheel high, 4 wheel high and 4 wheel low. A vacuum (rubber) hose connects the rear differential to the vacuum solenoid and engages the front trans axle to engaged into 4 wheel drive and back to rear wheel drive. This vacuum tube is mounted too close to the exhaust pipe and has dryrotted in two years causing the vehicle to not go into 4 wheel drive. This hose either needs to be shielded from the exhaust pipe heat or should be made of a material that when exposed to the heat will not deteriorate. Themain problem is that the lights on the dash indicate you are in 4 wheel drive when you are not and someone is going to be killed if they believe they are in 4 wheel drive and hit some ice or snow, lose control and collide with another vehicle or careen off a mountain. This electronic device is a manufacturing and engineering defect and should be of a major concern to the safety of the general public. There should be an immediate recall on this vehicle to correct the vacuum hose and above all replace the indicator light!*
At 35mphaxle snapped.,causing vehicle to pull toleft. Cause unknown. Dealer notified.
Front bearing hubs have gone bad. This has happen only 3,000 after the extended warranty has expired at 100,000. I had loud grinding and vibration in front after i took off winter aggressive snow tires. The snow tires have masked the problem and the vehicle would have been serviced if heard. Took it to dealer to have them find problem. Comes back with both hubs need replaced and upper and lower ball joints with a total of 1710.00 in service. I felt that gm should be responsible. I called gm and declined even after consulting with dealer. I feel these parts have failed prior to warranty being expired.
2002 chevy s-10 crew cab rear axle failurefailure due to water in axle housing due to vent pipe being located between cab and bed, occurred once, rear axle locked up complete rebuild of rear axle relocation of vent pipe.
Initial complaint started at approx 17,100 miles. There was water reported in the rear end differential. Dealer (lucas chevrolet) refused to repair under warranty and to give suggestions on how water got into sealed unit. We paid to have the fluid changed and dealer assured that there was no damage to rear end differential.second complaint was that there was a whining noise coming from the rear end at approximately 20,000 miles. The noise occured between 50 & 70 mph and would quit when the gas pedal was let off. A different dealer (jim reed chevrolet) "rebuilt" the rear end differential. Note: dealer was very helpful in fixing problem.the next complaint was that at approximately 23,000 miles, after the rear end differential fluid was changed, the whining noise came back. The driving conditions were the same as the second complaint. The dealer (jim reed chevrolet) again "rebuilt" the rear end differential.on the way home from the dealer (jim reed chevrolet) the rear end is still whining.
2002 chevrolet s-10 ls x-cab pickup manual transmission: loud knocking noise comming from transmission and shifting through gears is rough. When clutch pedal is pressed noise disappears but, when pedal is released a loud bang is heard from transmission and knocking noise returns. The rough shifting occurs mostly going into 3rd gear but also occasionally in all other gears.brought to dealer to repair for the first time on jun 2, 2003. Technician said noise is " normal " for this type of vech. Due to a heavier duty transmission. Clutch slave unit was found leaking, causing the rough shifting...dealer replaced slave unit.on aug. 4, 2003 truck was once again brought in to dealer to inquire about knocking noise from trans and shifting problems (this time transmission wouldn't allow shifter to go into 1st gear and shifting was rough again) after getting second and third opinions from various shops, and all stating that knocking noise does not sound "normal" and a problem with shifting.once again service tech at the dealer stated that knocking noise is normal and found no problems with shifting but may have fixed a problem, because after leaving service dept, shifting went back to normal but knocking is still there.
The truck was in a head-on collision with a large tree at freeway speeds.vehicle was hit in center of bumper with sufficient force to push engine into bulkhead and distorting dashboardand interior.vehicle wastotaled.my father was killed in the accident.police reported he was not wearing a seat belt.our concern was why wasn't the air bad deployed during crash. The air bag warning light was not illuminated shortly before the crash.
Consumer complains of aproblem with the seat belt assembly on the passenger'sside. The center button sticks, and the latch doesn't go into the buckle.*tc
Vehicle was involved in a collision while driving at 35 mph. Vehiclewas hit on the front and the passenger sides. Upon impact, none of the air bags deployed, anddriver's side seat belt failed to retract.as a result, consumer hit the steering wheel and sustained a concussion.vehicle sustained extensive damage.manufacturer's investigator after inspecting the air bags indicated the reason that they didn't deploy was because they weren't hit right.
Dt*: the contact stated that 9 months ago the seat belt fractured. The female portion of the buckle would not remained latched to the male portion of the buckle. This problem was consistent not intermittent. The part to fix the problem was not available at a local dealership. The manufacturer determined the part will be shippedwithin 7 to 10 days to an authorized dealer.the exact name of the part required for the repair was not provided by the manufacturer. The seat belt buckle is free of dirt and other contaminants.
Driver's seat moves back and forth and will not lock in place. Vehicle accelerated and seat flew back on acceleration. Vehicle has been in at dealer one time for intermittent problem. Dealer was correcting the problem. Consumer stated that the tilt wheel control froze in one position, dealer adjusted tilt steering.center console hard to open, dealer adjusted console.
The seat failure just occurred while my wife was in the truck.the seat unexpectantly shifted back while drivng in heavy traffic.this created the potential of a severe accident with multiple injuries. We have taken the truck in for repair.
Driver seat fails to lock in place. When i accelerate the seat comes loose and moves to the full back position and locks. Or if the seat is adjusted again and i brake, the seat moves to the full forward position.

After i'd owned the vehicle for a little over 3 years and had only about 13,000 miles on it, it began to pull hard on braking.one of the front brake calipers seized and ruined the front rotor in the process.although the truck was just out of warranty, because of the low mileage and age of the vehicle, i took it to the dealer. Chevrolet refused to honor the repairs under warranty or acknowledge any problems.they said it was because the truck sat outside.it is parked on a paved street in front of my house.it is a truck and most trucks in my experience "sit outside," so i found this explanation totally unsatisfactory.whatever happened to "like a rock!" i replaced both front rotors, both front calipers (upgraded from oem) and of course the brake fluid at my expense.again this year, in may 2012, i experienced the same problem with a front caliper seizing.i took it to the dealer again and the dealer verified the problem and said i needed to replace the calipers, pads and, in addition, the brake lines.they offered to do this for a mere $975 plus tax and $80 for new pads.i will once again replace the calipers, pads, fluids and this time the brake lines which i suspect were the original problem.when i flushed the lines to replace the fluid back in 2006 and again in 2012 there was obvious contamination in the lines which when it builds up in the caliper, in my opinion, causes it to seize.i've owned a number of vehicles most of which sat outside for years and never experienced any type of problem with the brakes.my complaint is that i believe chevrolet used substandard lines in their vehicles or allowed contamination of these parts or designed a defective system that allows condensation to infiltrate the system and destroy the lines.

-brakes failed to stop vehicle (2002 cherolet s10 pickup) while traveling at low speed (20-35 mph). Brake pedal went to the floor at least once, possibly more, as i tried to get the brakes to engage. Brakes finally caught but on the right side only for the vehicle jerked to the right before it came to a stop.vehicle, which is still under warrenty, was towed to dealer and no defects or problems were found. Dealer stated that there is nothing they can do to since they cannot replicate problem.

Brake line failure on 2002 chevy s-10 crew cab. One brake line began leaking. Dealer suggested replacing two lines. When repair was being completed a third brake line began to leak. The parts are not readily available from gm and the dealer said it could take months to get.waiting to see if a local shop can manufacture the third line. I was told that the lines corroded due to brine used on roads during winter. I saw an article stating that the nhtsa is investigating other gm trucks between 1999 and 2003 for this very same problem but the s-10 is not listed as having an issue. I was fortunate that i caught it early by seeing a puddle of fluid under my truck. The brake light did not come on. I do not feel very confident about the remaining lines that have not been replaced.

I have experienced the exact same situation with the abs brakes on my 2002 chevrolet s-10 crew cab pick-up truck as described below:feds probe gm brakes tuesday, may 03, 2005the national highway traffic safety administration said monday that stopping distances may increase when the brakes are applied at speeds of under 10 mph because of the buildup of corrosion.in some of the vehicles, the corrosion of salt and other cold-weather road substances led to unwanted activation of the brake system at low speeds and increased the stopping distance.regards, jim zelasny
When depressing the brakes brake pedal pulsated and pedaltouched the floor. This caused the vehicle to have extended stopping distance. Consumer took vehicle to the dealership on two separate occasions, butproblem recurred.

Drivers side third door leaks water when it is raining, causing carpet to become musty smelling.has there been a recall or fix issued for this problem?vehicle only has 19000 miles on it.
Door leaks water/air.
This is the third vehicle of this type that i have had to have a door hinge, bushings and/or hinge pins repaired on.2004 chevrolet blazer four door (odi number) 10255992.2003 chevrolet blazer two door (odi number) 10256634.the door is dropping causing a problem to either open or close the door.door started creaking about a month ago and subsequently became a safety problem to close it properly.it was rubbing on the lock strike.door was taken to the dealer after the other two were found to have a problem with the doors.i presume that the same repairs were made to this as it is still in the dealers shop as of today.when all is said and done it will have cost four hundred dollars plus to repair these doors and make them safe.it is not a new problem for gm as it has been going on in various models since the 80's.
Third door handle/latch keeps breaking making this door unusable. This handle has been replaced three times and is now broken again.anyone using the jumpseat would be trapped in the vehicle and/or have a very difficult time exitingthe vehicle in an emergency.
The driver's side door is loose. One can literally jiggle the door approximately half of a centimeter up and down. The auto dealership in portland, maine (forest city chevrolet - now called quirk chevrolet) advised me that they could fail my inspection a couple of years ago - that there had been reports of this and what the progression would be of such. The door did not jiggle at all during that time and was operating properly. It did pass maine's tough inspection law during said initial notification by the dealer (inspected by vip auto, south portland, maine).
I have a 2002 chevy s-10 pick up (zr2) and the drivers door hinge is separating from the weld causing the door to be approximately 1 inch out of alignment and getting worse.i currently have 41,000 miles on this vehicle and it is out of warranty.
The door opened fine all day and all of a sudden when i went to open the door it opened only 2 inches. It appears that the front right fender panel has slid back towards the door approx. 1/2 inch and that is what's blocking the door. Upon further inspection the hinge is slightly bent. Dealer is trying to say that the door was sprung. Witnesses that i have including 2 police officers can state that this did not happen. They can state that the door opened fine the first 2 times and then not at all later. Body shop mechanic slid something inside the door hinge and popped it open resulting in the paint on the hinge to be scraped off. This should have been a warranty issue but the dealer refuses to fix it without payment. I feel since this did not happen by cause or fault of me nor was this vehicle hit on the driver side, that it is a defect and needs to be investigated.***dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12-12-02 cut over to artemis***762999
I own a 2002 chevrolet s-10 with 72,000 miles. Since purchasing the vehicle, the door hinge pin bushings have failed, resulting in the vehicle doors falling out of alighment and opening while driving. The dealership, and gm, while acknowledgeing the design flaw have failed to do anything. I have researched this problem on the internet and have found in to be a wide spead situation with all gm medium duty door hinges. This problem started with the introduction of the welded door hinges rather that the bolt on type. This seem to be a very serious safety concern to me, and i cannot understand why gm is not willing to fix this problem.
My son-in-law sat down on the tailgate of my2002 chevrolet s-10 andbothtailgate cables broke. He fell to the ground but only suffered minor scrapesand a sprained ankle and back. I had the cablesreplaced at the dealer where i had bought the truck. There were recalls in force for other gmctrucks whose tailgate cables had suddenly broken, but i was informed that my particular year was not among them. I feel, in light of the recent recalls, mine should have been included in, that recall,or at least this recall, and my deduction for the repairscovered by gmc. I am certain that all the trucks using the same cables will, or have been affected by the sudden failure of said cables.
The contact owns a 2002 chevrolet s10.while driving approximately 10 mph and exiting a parking lot, the contact heard a loud noise outside of the vehicle.immediately, the vehicle was pulled over and the driver observed that the driver's side tailgate cable failed without warning.while the vehicle was in operation, the tailgate dragged onto the road surface due to the faulty cable.the tailgate was removed from the vehicle.the vehicle has not been repaired.the contact is in the process of notifying the manufacturer.she has pictures of the failure.the failure mileage was 49,000 and current mileage was 50,000.
Driver feels that the design and location of the hood release lever causes foot to make contact with lever when entering or exiting the vehicle. This resulted in the hood releasing unexpectedly. Ts*nlm

He was going approx. 40 mph.contacted the dealer as well as gm, and theytold her that this vehiclenot included in previous recalls on older year models.she iwasvery concerned because if her husband was to be carrying a heavy load in the truck ,and something fell ou. , there could be a very bad accident. Tailgate hinge and cable assembly rusted and failed.
2002 chevrolet s10 pickup truck.37,179 miles on vehicle.tailgate support cable broke with one person sitting on the tailgate.plastic coating ripped away revealing that the steel cable was very rusted.
Both cables securing the tail gate on my 2002 chevrolet s-10 broke.while there was no damage there could have been if my wife had not been alert and prevented the tailgate from dropping.i understand that there is current a product safety memo for the 1999-2000 chev silverado and gmc sierra.
The tailgate straps broke off, keeping the tailgate from maintaining upward position. Dealer will repair atconsumer'sexpense.
(1) i own an 02 s-10 sports side pickup which i rarely use the tail gate.(2) my 250 lb 6'3" father put the tailgate down, sat on it, and the tailgate support cables snapped. He didn't jump, hop, or sit down excessively hard and they broke.(3) upon further inspection of the tailgate it wasn't creased so i was okay. My uncle (who works for a dealership) said there was a recall on the full sizes and he would check for mine. He calls back no recall but the cables are $10 a piece. I'm thinking ok no problem. The next day he said those cables were discontinued and the new ones/ new assembly cost $35 a piece. So i'm going from a $20 fix to $70. That's insane. Why should they make more money off me from their mistake?
2002 chevy s10 3 door pickup truck, 22,000 miles, one owner.rear tailgate cables rustedand broken.
I own a 2002 chevrolet s-10 pickup. I was helping a friend move some small furniture when at the end of our last run i noticed my tailgate was resting on my bumper. Apparently the tailgate cables snapped. Upon further inspection the site of failure where the cable snapped was rusted through. Now this is a cable that is entirely encased in plastic from the factory and it still managed to rust. I have open and closed my tailgate perhaps two dozen times in the course of three years so this is certainly not a wear issue..i feel that gm should extend the tailgate recall it has for its full size trucks(which experience the same problem) to include their mid-size s-10 trucks as well.
Tailgate cable brokewith less than 75 lbs (my 7yr old daughter) sitting on tailgate. Cables appeared to be corroded due to a coating on them that allowed moisture to come in contact with cable.
Having read about the gm recall for the full size pickup tailgate cables one of two cables failed on my 2002 s10 crew cab p/u. I replaced only one because of the cost. The cable failed after the warranty had expired, approximately three and half years. This was with normal usage, no heavy weights, the cable just corroded through. The s10 uses a similar if not he same cable as the full size.
When opening the tailgate on my truck both cables broke in the middle due to corrosion. This is the same problem gm has on their larger trucks which have been recalled.

I own a 2002 chevrolet s-10 crew cab pick-up 4 x 4. I would like to report failure of the tail gate cables. The cables had corroded in the center and then broke. Chevrolet has a recall on cables for the larger pick ups, but does not have a recall for the s-10's.
2002 chevrolet s-10 tailgate cablewas defective.one of them broke without warning.upon inspection the other cablewas faulty and likely to break also.since i was standing on the tailgate at the time, i was lucky to avoid injury when the cable broke.
The cable that retains the tailgate has broken.it is encased in a vinyl covering that hides the rust that appears to have caused the failure.the cable has rusted out in the middle causing the tailgate to be unstable when loading/unloading.when unloadingthe truck, the unstable tailgate caused a fall.the vinyl casing prevents visual inspection for rust, and probably leads to rust since it retains moisture.the design and installation of the cables prevents ready replacement as the entire latch must be removed/replaced.
I read with personal interest about the gm recall for full size pickup tailgate cable failures.while i own a 2002 chevy s10 pickup and have experienced the same failed cable due to rust, my truck is not included in the recall.why?as it is now the tailgate is not usable until they are replaced, walking over the tailgate is sure to lead to failure of the second cable and a fall to the ground.
Dt:2002 chevrolet s10.the consumer states the cables that hold the tailgate both snapped simultaneously.there was nothing on the tailgate when this happened.the cables were not showing any sign of wear.the dealership and manufacturer were contacted about the problem. On february 2, 2005 i was unloading a twenty-five pound pail from the back of my chevy s-10 pick up truck. I opened the tail gate, and as i slid the pail on to the tailgate, both of the tailgate support cables snapped.i fell backwards onto the garage floor, and i injured my back.i called the dealership where i purchasde my truck, and they said there was nothing they could do because there was no recall. On march 17,2005 as i was driving, i heard a loud bang. The tailgate had fallen into the middle of the road.a woman with a van full of children had to swerve into the opposite lane to avoid hitting the tailgate.the tailgate was dented and badly scratched.i again called the dealership and explained what had happened, and again they told me they would do nothing, because there was no recall for the s-10 pick up regarding the tailgate supports or the tailgate. I have the broken tailgate support cables, and the tailgate.

I was loading a storage trunk onto the bed of my 2002 s10 when both tailgate support cables snapped and dropped the trunk off of the rear of the truck.luckily i was not standing behind it.i am aware of the recall on tailgate straps for full size chevrolet trucks, and would like to see the recall expanded to my model truck also so i can get it fixed.i use the truck frequently to carry cargo.
Dt: consumer stated 2002 chevrolet,s-10 tailgate cables broke at the same time.consumer was loading straw , and set a bale of straw on the tailgate. When the weight was applied to the tailgate both cables snapped. There was corrosion on the outside of the cable. The cables snapped underneath the rubber coating on the bottom of the cable. The tailgate was dented after the tailgate fell, no damage to the bumper. Consumergoing to contact the dealer and the manufacturer today. Consumer wasgoing to call and see if gm was willing to repair the damage before he fixedit.
Dt:the contact stated immediately after stepping offthe tailgate the cables broke simultaneously.he purchased the parts to fix the vehicle himself.he contacted the manufacturer, but they offered no assistance.
1. Use of the tailgate in order to put cargo in pickup box.2. The tailgate cables broke, made from poor material, also same as the recalled silverado tailgate cables3. Dealer gave me the option of paying 5 times more than aftermaket for the cable or wait until enough complaint are received in order for recall.
Dt*: the contact stated while opening the tailgate the cables on the right and left side were broken.there is a nhtsa recall, # 04v129000, regarding the structure body tailgate hinge and attachments.the vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however it is not included in the recall due to the model and vin.
While standing on the tailgate left/right tailgate support straps snapped.dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.
Tailgate cable snapped while tailgate was down.closer inspection reveals corrosion inside the cable.no unusual weight was placed on tailgate.i believe this issue which was recalled in the silverado line should also be recalled in the s-10 line.
Both support cables on the tailgate broke while loading. This caused the tailgate to drop without warning. Both cables showed sign of corrosion. The dealer was notified.
Placed about a 200 pound torch on tailgate when lifing into 2002 chevy s10 truck.tailgate cable broke.although no injuries or damaged property that day, in the future a 275 pound owner could have been on the tailgate and a broken cable could cause broken bones or lacerations.to correct problem one can not simply replace a $10 cable.gm has made the vehicle so you have to buy the cable and hinge for $45.this is ridiculous and if these cables have been found to be faulty and recalled in the silverados they should probably also be recalled on the s10s.as of yet the cable has not been replaced-wailting to see if a recall will be issued.
Tailgate support cables on my 2002 chevrolet s-10 pickup broke while opening and fell onto my foot.foot was only bruised and i did not seek medical attention. Both of the tailgate cables had corroded and snapped at the same time.this seems to be a common chevrolet problem, as chevrolet and gmc full-size pickups have been recalled to replace cables.i replaced the cables for $98.37.the cables should be recalled and replaced before a serious injury takes place.
I was unloading some limbs and brush into a brush pile from the back of my 2002 chevrolet s-10 truck when both tailgate cables snapped and i fell into the pile.i weigh 200 pounds and the limbs i was unloading weighed about 20 pounds.i was not injured and there appears to be no damage to the tailgate itself.i was looking online to order new parts when i found about a hundred similar complaints, some with injuries, and still no recall.i became angry when i found out gm knows about this problem and has ignored their customers' safety.also, the cables are riveted in which means you have to replace the entire assembly which is $60.00 for one side therefore total cost is around $120.00.
Dt: the cables that hold the tailgate levelrustedandbroke. Tailgate goes up but consumer cannotlet it down because it rides on the bumper. Contacted chevrolet, they said there was no recall on a s-10.
The frame is bent.the vehicle has a problem with the alignment a week after being repaired.the vehicle has been to the dealer several times for this problem. Chevrolet, s10, blazer extreme 2002.
Door hinges were welded from factory the welds looked poor just spot welded.
Frame crack passenger side. 2002 s-10.
The contact owns a 2002 chevrolet s10. While the vehicle was being repaired at an independent repair shop for routine maintenance she was informed that the frame was cracked. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where she was informed thatthe frame was cracked but they were unaware what caused it crack. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 91,628.
On passenger side water is leaking fromtop corner ofwindshield intovehicle. Vehicle been to the dealer on five occasions, and unable to locate the cause. Feel free to provide any further information.
I have a 2002 chevrolet s10 zr2.it has had many problems in the front end, it was eventually discovered to have numerous cracks and broken welds, mostly on the right side.at this point gm has offered a 70/30 split on repairs, which we reluctantly agreed to because we needed the vehicle repaired.now that the frame has been haphazardly repaired by a different dealer, because the dealer that we purchased it from refused to look at it,we feel that it is still a safety hazard and we are trying to get it repaired correctly.we want proper repairs for our vehicle, but ,to also alert others that there may be problems with the zr2 frames.the original frame is still in the possession of turnpike chevrolet in nitro, wv.

Noticed several days after purchase truck leaning 1.5 inches on drivers side, front and rear.contacted dealer, they instructed to bring in after 1500 miles.brought in at 2600 miles.after 1.5 months, dealer repair was to put stronger springs on left front, left rear, arch rear springs and fabricate shims (2) which were placed between frame and body.gm calls this fixed.i am not satisfied, and concerned about vehicle handling and safety possibly comprimised.
Consumer states when driving above 50 mph the truck shakes violently. Took to chevrolet and they stated this condition is normal.nlm
Reporting intermittentley problem with a popping noise from the right front supension dealer is aware of the problem. Ts
The contact owns a 2002 chevrolet s-10.while driving approximately 70 mph and approaching a stop sign, the front driver's side lower ball joint detached from the vehicle.the tire folded at a 45 degree angle.the current mileage was 80,300 and failure mileage was 80,000.
The state was inspecting the vehicle, and the inspector informed the consumer that both upper ball joints needed to be replaced.the manufacturer was notified, and informed the consumer that this problem was not covered under a recall.*sc

While driving on the highway back ofvehiclewill bounce. Driver almost lost control of vehicle.
There was no indication the spare tire was about to come off.i was driving at approx. 60mph and all of a sudden there was a loud thud and the truck shook.i looked behind me to see my spare tire sliding down the roadway, almost causing a serious accident behind me.it also put a dent and removed some paint from the underside of the bumper.this occurred at 32,000 miles on truck.i went back and retrieved the spare and threw it into the bed of the truck.upon further inspection, i noticed the drop down cable under the bed had corroded and snapped less than an inch from the end, dropping the tire and leaving nothing but the frayed cable behind.this is the first occurrence, and it has not been repaired because that part is not covered under warranty.
Zr2 s-10 4x4 ext.cab pickup (2002). No mention of component failures.
Dt: the consumer states that onhis 2002 chevrolet s-10 spare tire broke loose from the cable that it wasattached underneath the vehicle. This happened while driving at 20-25 mph.the consumer heard the noise when the tire fell off.then, the tire fell out in the middle of the street and almost caused another vehicle to crash into it. The cablesnapped in half. The thin steel cablewas not able to handle the weight.after the cable broke there was a little of the cable left. The consumer contacted chevrolet and filed a complaint with the dealership.
I noticed one of the tailgate cables on my 2002 cheverolet s-10 pickup (45,000 miles) appeared to be streached.upon closer inspection i found the cable was separating under the coating.the opposite side was found to be in the same condition.i took the vehicle to my dealer and was told gm had not issued a service bulletin on the s-10, only the silverado.since my vehicle was out of warranty the dealer rep. Told me if i wanted to replace the cables i would have to purchase them.within a couple of weeks both cables broke when my 3 year old granddaughter attempted to climb up on the tailgate.the tailgate fell open to the bumper but there were no injuries.i have since purchased and replaced the broken cables.the old parts are available.
First incident of third door handle assembly failure. Plastic assembly handle shattered during opening and door could not be opened.second incident of failure was in february 2012. Same inferior plastic handle assembly cracked and shattered upon attemping to open third door and had to be replaced.

When starting vehiclewill intermittently lurch forward, about 6-8 inches. Dealer cannot duplicate the problem.
Throttle sticks in full-open position. Motor rpm bounce off the rev-limiter when this happens. Problem is not in throttle cabling or accelerator pedal mechanism. Problem is internal to throttle body. Feels like a piece of rubber is jammed between the throttle plate and throttle body housing. Vehicle is currently at dealership because of this problem.*la
When i test drove this vehicle, i "punched" the throttle to check response, engine-misfire, smoke, etc.the throttle stuck in the open position and the vehicle continued to accelerate.repeated punching of the accelerator released the throttle and i was able to reduce engine speed.the dealer indicated that this problem was caused by carpeting snagging the throttle cable.(wrong).the dealer examined the vehicle, declared the problem cured, and i purchased the vehicle.since that time, the throttle has stuck more than a dozen times.this is particularly dangerous when attempting to pass another vehicle, or accelerating from a traffic light.the throttle stuck once when i was pulling into a downtown parking lot.in all these cases, had i not known what to expect, there could have been an accident.no parts have ever been replaced on this vehicle to the best of my knowledge.the first incident occurred on august 21, 2004 and another incident occurred today (february 25, 2005).
While driving accelerator locked causing consumer to lose control of vehicle. Contact dealer and general motors. Vehicle totaled.
Throttle stuck in wide open position on ramp entering highway, brakes were not effective in stopping vehicle, speed increasing , turned ignition key off and coasted to stop, checked accellerator pedal, was stuck in wide open position, could not free it, checked for interference from carpeting and there was none, waited a while and the pedal realeasd on its own, drove it home under partial throttle, called the dealer, who sent a roll back truck topick it up, while waiting on the wrecker i depressed the pedal and it stuck to the floor, i then took a camera and took pictures of the pedal in stuck position to show the dealer in case he didnt believe me. The picture clearly shows that there was no interference from the carpet or mat, as the engine cooled down the pedal released again, which led me to believe that the problem was heat related and was located somewhere in the throttle body ass.,dealer worked on vehicle and stated on the work order that the problem was caused by carpet protecter interference, took truck home and checked out the throttle body assembly, there was clear signs that work had been atempted in that area. Return spring had signs of tool contact, butterfly in throttle body bore showed signs of tool marks, i checked to make sure everything was free, which it was, my concern is that if it is a reacuring problem someone with less luck could possibly be killed and the manufacturer is not telling the truth on the real cause of the problem.
Airbags failed to deploy when accelerator locked up on vehicle and consumer lost control. Dealer contacted.
Turned on windshield wipers and nothing happened. Made it to the side of the road during downpour. Checked fuses and still nothing. Faulty solders on wiper control board. Dangerous situation as visibility was greatly impaired. Could have caused a life threatening crash.
This vehicle has had a problem with the defroster that began at under 20,000 miles. The dealer has attempted repairs twice under warranty. As i am once again having the problem, and off of the warranty, i began looking on the internet for information. It turns out that the transfer case vacuum switch goes bad and allows the fluid in the transfer case to be drawn up into the hvac system. This causes, among other problems, the defroster to not operate. This is a very difficult and expensive problem to correct as the entire hvac system must be flushed out and any bad parts replaced. This seems to be fairly common and yet gm will do nothing off warranty, and in my case did not correct the problem under warranty. I believe a recall is in order.
2002 s10 seat reclining adjustment control handle breaks off with no control of position of safe position of seating for driver. I had same problem with a 1999.
Window pop after rolled up scaring the !@#$% out of you could be 1/2 hour later or right away or driving over a bump. Noise so bad my wife dropped her cigarette it made her scream too. Read article that these gm window can shatter. I'm afraid mine will too. Needs recall to fix.
The contact owns a 2002 chevrolet s-10. While driving approximately 30 mph with the brake pedal engaged, the abs warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle began to shake. The failure recurred on several occasions at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the front wheel hubs were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 45,500. Updated 8/19/15
