On-oing problem with various parts: 1. Whenever vehicle runs erratically it causes vehicle to have no brakes ( fuel injectors have been replaced on three occasions); 2.electrical problems ( replaced battery on six occasions),and 3. Front seat will not stay locked in place, seat moved back and forth. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that vehicle was out of warranty, and repairs would only be at consumer's cost.

Consumer states egr valve will hang open causing loss of manifold pressure, loss of pressure results in loss of vacuum for power brakes, and as a result vehicle goes to manual brakes causing elongated braking distance that has caused consumer to almost have an accident, consumer states the computer prom has also been replaced, consumer states manufacturer is not willing to assist, consumer has experienced five more failures since part has been replaced, consumer states manufacturer is not willing to assist.
The push button 4-wheel drive switch works part time.the computer can be reset and it will work for a while.at times you can become stuck in 2-hi, 4-hi, and even 4-lo.the connection at the shift motor/encoder was removed, cleaned, coated will dielectric gel, and the bolt that holds it in place was coated with loctite.this cured problem for approximately 2 weeks.this procedure has been performed three times inwhich it only cured the problem for a minimal time.i have spoke with dealers in the area and they know nothing.i feel this is a problem that should be recalled.i viewed the customer complaintes and noticed many had complained about the same symptoms(odi id-531922, 538102, 985135,472910).this might be expected if offroaded hard, my truck is used as a truck but not abused.please help.

1994 chevrolet s10 blazer. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle engine damage done by tow company. *tgwthe consumer stated she advised the tow company, that when the vehicle was dropped off at the repair shop, to inform them not to turn on the engine before draining off some of the oil. The consumer stated the tow company did not comply with her request, and therefore, when the engine was turned on, it destroyed the piston rods.
Oil lines blew to the remote oil filter and i shut the engine off within 15 seconds and the engine still seized.

Dad:the contactowns a 1994 chevrolet saa.the contactstated that the motor mount broke,causing it to cut a hole in the wiring that led to the ignition.the contact stated that the problem with this was that it killed the engine,and ledtonot havingpower steering or brakes.the consumer has been discussing the problem with the dealership.the consumer's concern was with the routing of the wiring system in the vehicle.the consumer has not contacted the manufacturer, but will be provided with the telephone number so he could contact them.

My engine has been knocking for awhile now.recentley it started to whine or squeal and i took it to the dealership.they stated i should expect the pistons and engine bearings to do that with a truck that age.i only have 50,000 miles on truck.they also told me chevrolet put out a tsb on that problem.i called the manufacturer with no results.they called the dealer and the dealer said they would not do anything.i sent gm a letter and opened a problem report with them to let them know how dissatisfied i was with the explanation i received on the problem with their product.i copied the dealer on the letter.i have not heard back from them.i would like them to know from a source like this that i'm not happy with their product or their explanation.
The fuel tank leaked at the seams of the tank which may cause fire. Also the motor mounts broke, causing the motor move up and down and break the radiator fan.please provide further information.

Failure on the abs braking system ea95-026, consumer came off an intersate, applied force to the brake pedal, the brake pedal went to the floor and the vehicle continued to move,causing the consumer to have anaccident. Mechanic states the cause was that vaccum hose was not all the way in booster, also also check engine light was coming on a few times, consumer states vehicle hard to start sometimes.
Idle speed stays extremely high until the engine warms up. Sometimes it takes 5 to 10 minutes before warming up. Could cause accident. Please describe details.
We have paid nearly $1,000 for these repairs. There are technical service bulletins and recall notices for some of these problems. The dealer advised us that the egr valve was "normal wear & tear" even though it went out during the warranty period. The fuel injector went out 4 months after the warranty expired. Several other repair shops indicated that this was a problem with this particular vehicle.

I feel that the i have been treated poorly by the dealer because the dealer was aware of the ongoing problem with this type of truck and tried to ask as if i had no problem. I feelthe manufactor should have made it known to the customer the same time they made the dealers aware of this problem. The manufactor has gone to the point of even providing an unupgrade design to fix this problem. But still untill i had this problem i was not made aware of the possibility of the condition. Only after questioning and checking the internet i am at this point.

Currently,having problems with motor and 4-wheel drive. The dealer disconnected the 4 wheel drive while trying to fix abs recall, and refused to fix it without charging the customer.
Recall--bolts that hold the engine were rotting away. 2 clutch repairs. Air conditioner not working properly. Spark plug blew. All the instrument panel lights came on and would not turn off. Owner wants to know what her rights are regarding whether or not she can return the car to the dealer as a "lemon."

Egr valve gets jammed up with carbon, which causes vehicle to surge/ backfire and completely stop. This has been an ongoing problem since december of 1998. Dealership is not able to correct the problem.there is a service bullletin # 96067(a) that references this problem. During the last failure, the vehicle stopped on the highway.
Making left turn; vehicle in front stopped suddenly; slammed on brakes; brakes failed; rearended vehicle. Took to dealer. Waiting for gm investigator for finding.consumer was reimbursed for a bad egr valve which had been the cause of two accidents.

We have several problems with this vehicle, we have had to replace front hub assembly, 4x4 components, door hinge, air conditioner compressor, while driving on the highway the front passenger wheel fell off at 70 mph.,at this time we have to stop and water down the front brake area when driving over 20 miles at a time please can you help with info on this vehicle???

'm guessing the bulbs for the third brake light are too strong for brake light. The bulbs melted the whole assembly inside and the lens of the light and started melting the interior light cause the are hooked together this could have caught fire but did not.

While driving at night with my headlights on i turned on the highbeam lights.they worked fine for about thirty seconds but then i lost all my interior and exterior lights.i turned the highbeams off and all my interior and exterior lights came back on.this is the only time this has happened.i was on vacation at the time and upon my arrival home i took it to the dealer named (on oct. 11).they checked the light system (according to the service writer) both electronically and visually but could not ascertainwhat caused the problem.i want to add that i have had a problem from time to time with the headlights not coming on when on turn the switch on that controls them.i have also had the truck back to the dealer for this problem at least once, while it was still under warranty, but they could not duplicate the problem so this problem has never been corrected either.if i keep turning the lights on and off eventually they do always come on, so far.this is the first time i ever had a problem with the h ighbeams, though.also, for about the last 18 months, while using the windshield wipers, they would stop in mid-stride.when i would turn them off and then turn them on again they would work fine forseveral months and then they would repeat this problem.on oct 11 i had the dealer check this also and they replaced the windshild wiper circuit board as they said that was bad.to me the headlights are a safety item and i think someone should look into this problem.thank you.

This is a common failure due to a manufacturing defect. I have documented proof of it along with 20 testimonials from blazer owners and an engineers report detailing the problem. Gm is not only refusing to stand behind the problem they've created but are charging upwards of $800.00 to fix it. This problem causes fuel to pass the cylinders and fill the oil pan with gas to the point of having gas leak out of all of the oil seals and out of the engine. This problem will cause the engine not only to sieze but also may result in engine fire and loss of life. Gm's stance on this is to ignor customer complaints and charge a premium for the repair.

Fuel injection system---i am very upset that i now need to replace again the fuel injectors and the regulator. I replced it the first time under warranty at 49721 miles. It was hard to believe that it went so fast. I was told by several mechanics that this should not happen dduring the first 125k or never. This is a costly repair of 800..00 or more and it seems to be a problem for many with this vortec 6 cyl 4.3 l i would like some help in trying to get the manufacturer gen. Motors to change this type design and to help the vitims of this costly repair. Once is too much and 2 times is rediculous in less than 75k. The second time was only 25k from replacement.the engine takes 4 to 5 retries to start and it gets progressively worse. I have heard many mechanics talk about a possible class- action suit if consumers have to put up with all the costly repairs and the egr valve is another problem with many. The abs sytem ,i have had to replace the brake pads and rotors at 31420. I felt it was premature.th

Consumer started smelling gasoline, a strong odor, inside and outside of vehicle, the tank has rusted through underneath the protective cover.but cannot tell where the gas leak is.when taking the cover offcan see the gas, a puddle in the cover. Movement of the vehicle makes the gas drip out. The dealer was not cantacted. There is no warranty of vehicle the estimated cost for a new fuel tank is approximately $256.00 plus labor.
The gas tank is rusted and gasoline is spilling over a sizable area.the problem is caused by a design flaw involving the stone gaurd at the front/bottom of the tank. There is a gap between the top edge of the stone guard and the tank.

Gas tank rusted severly because of the plastic gas tank shield holding dirt and moisture between shield and tank. The tank only rusted where the shield is located. The vehicle had slight fuel smell upon start-up. Apx 2 weeks later, the fuel tank rusted to the point of a major spill, of apx 3 gallons upon movement of vehicle. This is a obvious safety defect. Very unsafe. A recall is needed now.!
Gas tank leaking on bottom where the plastic shield lets dirt and stone build-up and rusts out the tank.

I just want to know about any recalls on my pickup truck the only recall i have had was the fuel tank filler tube and then i see there is all kinds of recalls that i haven't been notifed on. In high heat of texas (since my move here lst summer), it seems my transmission cooler clicks into service as designed when engine temps get too hot, my speed decreases but i can hear my engine revs increasing, but i lose all drive power when it does, it has only happened when temps are above the mid 90s, last time i was pulling my trailer at 65 mph going up a short hill on an expressway and i lost all power before getting to the top, my speed decreased to 30 mph, i had no way to warn drivers behind me, who ere going 65+, that i was slowing down, my fear is someone would ram into my rear end ..... Have brought this to the dealer 4 times now, if, as i have been told, there is not a defect, then it seems we have a huge design flaw

The push button 4-wheel drive switch works part time.the computer can be reset and it will work for a while.at times you can become stuck in 2-hi, 4-hi, and even 4-lo.the connection at the shift motor/encoder was removed, cleaned, coated will dielectric gel, and the bolt that holds it in place was coated with loctite.this cured problem for approximately 2 weeks.this procedure has been performed three times inwhich it only cured the problem for a minimal time.i have spoke with dealers in the area and they know nothing.i feel this is a problem that should be recalled.i viewed the customer complaintes and noticed many had complained about the same symptoms(odi id-531922, 538102, 985135,472910).this might be expected if offroaded hard, my truck is used as a truck but not abused.please help.

We have had 3 incedents with the brakes that all ended in accidents the latest was two weeks ago and the vehicle is in the shop now.

Following is the correspondence i have had through email with gm.after 5 months i have my truck back and have spent over $800 for something i have found out they had a major recall for failed brakes.i had a recall and took it to this dealership.the recall was for a19 94 blazer and had something to do with the switch on the abs brake system. About a week after i got it back the brake lights came on as i was driving down the road.they stayed on for about 5 miles until i reached my destination.when i started it back up they were off.the next week i was in traffic and braked sharply and the lights came on and i had no brakes.i pumped and they stopped me just in time.lights went off.i took it make to the shop and they kept it for a week trying to figure out what was wrongwith it.they called the hotline and said they could not help.they were finally able to make it happen and said it was the master cylinder and brake booster.i took it to my brother who has always worked on my car.he said i didn't need the brake booster, but put on a new master cylinder.it happened again the next day going down a hill in traffic, i braked and the lights came on and i had no brakes for about 15 seconds.i took it back to my brother, he called a dealership in versailles, ky and they called the hotline.they told him this had never happened before and offered no help. My brother thought it could be a defective master cylinder and put on another one.it happened again the next day.it has happened the last two days again.i just need to get it fixed if someone can tell me what's wrong.i don't want to get hurt or hurt someone else.i sure would appreciate anything you can do. This was in june.i to it back to the dealership and put in a brake booster and catalytic converter after at least 2 months.

Consumer received recall notification (c99041) regarding the abs, however within days of having recall work performed, consumer began to experience phantom warning lights on the dash, and then remained illuminated, also the engine began to run erractically, and there was difficulty in braking, consumer experienced the abs light failure five times, consumer was informed that egr valve needed to be replaced as well as the ebcm which was replaced several times, it was finally determined that the ehcu valve which is apart of the abs needed to be replaced but was not a part of the recall.

While driving on the beltway (395) in dc, traffic had come to an abrupt stop. As i went to apply my brakes the pedal locked-up and i could not apply the brakes. The normal abs sounds were present but the brake pedal would not move. The abs light nor any other light came on. I had to stop using my emergency brake. I pulled off to the side of the road and it appeared to have corrected itself. I continued at a slow speed and tried the brakes again and i was able to stop. While driving home to new york it did not occur again. I drove the vehicle to dc again and it occured a few more times. I had it checked at a service station and they found nothing wrong. I continued to drive the vehicle and the problem did not occur immediately. On 4-8-99 i was returning from a store with my wife. I was entering the on ramp of i-84 in middletown ny, when i applied my brakes to slow down on the ramp the problem occured forcing my vehicle to sway side to side and almost rolling over. I called a gm dealer and they said that if the light didn't come on then there was probably nothing wrong with the abs. I told them i would like to have it checked out any way. Upon the dealer inspecting the brakes they apparently found that the high hydraulic unit abs pump was defective and it was costly to repair. My concern is not that i have to pay more than $1000.00 to correct the problem but that there are thousands of 1994 blazers on the road and that this problem can occur with out warning (no lights). If any part of the abs is defective the self test that is run on the abs should identfy this particular problem because it is something that can be measured (ie. Pressure). My vehicle is at port jervis auto mall service department (914) 856-5104. I would appreciate any action you may take in investigating this matter. Not every one will be able to think of stopping with their emergency brake when the pedal locks up. I was lucky to avoid an accident.

In situations where emergency stops are needed on road surfaces that are covered with gravel, wet, or otherwise traction challenging environment, the brakes are not reliable. Since buying this truck i have been involved in 3 rear end collisions in which the truck did not stop until it found whatever was in front of me.in all 3 cases it has been another car producing, 2 possibly 3, whiplash claims plus vechicle damage claims. Until buying this vehicle i never had a rear end accident.on 7/7/2002, on a wet but level pravementas i approached an intersection with a traffic light that was red for the direction i was going.i began to slow down as i approached the car in front of me.the brake lights on the car in front of me went out and it appear the car was moving forward. When the brake lights suddenly came back on, i hit my brake peddle hard and firm. Intially there was some braking sensation an a "whirrrr-ing" sound buti kept going forward until i hit the car in front me. While damage to my truck was minimal, about $900, the rear of the 2001 nissan altima that i hit, was considerable, fortunately the driver says she was not hurt but i would not be surprised if a whiplash claim is filed. The next day i took the truck into the nearest chevrolet dealer to check the condition of the brakes and to double check that the recall campaign work had been done. The brakes were inspected, road tested and declared to be in proper condition and "function as designed". The key here is the phrase function as designed. What is not said is that the design of this brake system allows for an extended stopping distance of unpredictable length or control of the driver, under the exact circumstances of my collisions. Neither chevrolet or gm give a warning in the owner's manual or by other means.

I took my 1994 chevrolet s-10 in to the dealer back in december for the abs recall, and ive still been having problems with my brakes, although not quite the same.this problem is much scarier then the first, and is a major safety hazard.the abs seems to be overly sensitive, kicks in when doing a standard brake and causes you to lose control and slide past your stopping point.i have noticed this under rainy/wet conditions. This is a major safety hazard, and something must be done to get chevy to come up with a real fix to this braking problem before it leads to accidents resulting in injury/death.

I was driving home from my 2nd job on 4/27/99 around 9:00 pm, it was raining and my windshield wipers were working as i left my job, but before i could make it a mile down the road they quit.i had to stop in a dimly lit industrial park and try to get them to come back on, i was not able to accomplish that.i had to drive home in the pouring rain with my head hanging out the window basically, it was either that or walk in the dark and rain.i could have had an accident because of these faulty wipers.also, since i purchased this truck in '94my brakes have collapsed numerous times, at one point they collapsed when i was going down a slight hill, when they collapsed i swerved ever so slightly and side-swipped a curb which damaged my rim and caused a flat.since then i have had to have the master cylinder replaced, the brakes replaced constantly, and anytime i take it to a shop to be repaired they cannot find the problem.i only have 68,000 miles on a 5 year old truck and i have to be very careful driving it because i never know if the brakes will stop.

Dt: the contact owned a 1994 chevrolet s10 pickup. While on the ny throughway at mile post 145 west bound with two lanes of very heavy traffic all the vehicle in front of contact's vehicle werehitting the brakes because it was heavy traffic.contact's vehicle was on the outside passing lane going straight with plenty of room barely hit the brakesand they went to the floor.since everyone in front suddenly stoppedcontact's vehiclehad to move over,went on the median in the highway to keep from hitting the vehicle in front and passed about 40-50 vehicles. When the brakes were applied, the pedal traveled to the floor, the master cylinder was replaced, however the problem persisted. ....the fist notice of impending failure wasvery slowly sinking brake pedal while stopping in traffic. As more stops were made the rate of the pedal sinking became faster. Cups in the maste cylinder were letting brake fluid leak by them. New master cylinders did not solve problem.

Consumer received recall notification (c99041) regarding the abs, however within days of having recall work performed, consumer began to experience phantom warning lights on the dash, and then remained illuminated, also the engine began to run erractically, and there was difficulty in braking, consumer experienced the abs light failure five times, consumer was informed that egr valve needed to be replaced as well as the ebcm which was replaced several times, it was finally determined that the ehcu valve which is apart of the abs needed to be replaced but was not a part of the recall.

I purchased my 1994 chevy s-10, vin [xxx], new in '94.within the first 3 months of ownership, i noticed a problem with the rear braking system.the problem, the adjustors are shoving the shoes too tight against the drums, causing them to drag, glazing the shoes, & after periods of time, burning up the shoes, warping the drums.i've had to replace shoes & drums an average of every 30,000 miles.taken the truck back several times with no results or problem acknowledgment.they clean them, adjust them, charge me, ship me out the door.when the roadway is wet or snowy, the rear brakes constantly lock up.this has thrown me into several intersections, into oncoming traffic, because of no brakes.when the rear brakes lock up the front brakes unload, leaving me with no brakes.the front pads go an average of 80,000 miles without needing changed.you ask for number of failures.the brakes fail during rains, snow, etc?each time i hit my brakes during these conditions is a failure.i can't list all incident dates, there's too many!i listed approx. On-oing problem with various parts: 1. Whenever vehicle runs erratically it causes vehicle to have no brakes ( fuel injectors have been replaced on three occasions); 2.electrical problems ( replaced battery on six occasions),and 3. The rear wheels lock up when they have the abs system. When disengaging with the parking brake on, the brakes continue to lock. Consumer states problem occurs intermittenly usually after vehicle has been sitting for a number of hourswith the parking brake engaged and if the weather has turned cooler/rainy after starting up and diengaging the parking brake will shift into drive 1st gear or reverse does not matter which one, and try to drive off, foot off clutch, it will act like the brake is still engaged and will stall out kill the engine unless consumer gives it more gas, an audible clunk can be heard after which it acts like the truck has broken gear, however after driving for awhile brakes will began to perform normally.

I have spent a year arguing with gm about the brake failure.in april of 96 they denied in writing that there were any problems with my brake system. Since abs campaign #c99046 vehicle recall service july 7, 2000 to replace abs part # 8880026 module kit 4.720 i have had three loss of brakes in emergency stop/accident avoidance situation resulting in damages to frontal area of my vehicle all 3 time. And the last two times rear ending other person's vehicles. Ever since this recalled module was changed in low speed sudd stop or accident avoidance maneuvers while hitting the brake pedal the abs unit comes on with a pedal pumping pulsation but never slows or stops the truck. I have also had both front seat tracks broken by the impact to impairing rear seat passenger entry and exit. I have had the brakes redone continously and filed claim with g.m. Last time requesting engineering investigation to no avail. I have found that this model abs rear brakes are not auto adjusting after two prior accidents trying to get th brakes working correctly. I had had no followup by nhtsa regarding my last complaint by made by a tty/relay call as i am deaf.my insuranc has gone out of sight because of accident claim filings to fix this truck and never once did the insurance companies include th brake repairs in their reports. The truck brakes fine under all noprmal driving conditions including high speed thruway accident avoidance stops. Its just the low speed on dry roads with very warm near 90 degree temperature days on asphalt this happens and there is never a braking skid mark or wheel lock up at any accident site. I was advised that the recall module replacement was to resolvea "northern" wintertime icy condition stopping problem. The truck has never been driven in northern icy climates and the truck has always had expensive oversized special high performance tires/wheels/suspension components to enhance braking and handling. With this recall module change the brake fluid also gets black and contaminated faster. I want to unload this vehicle but am afraid aperson unfamiliar could get hurt or hurt someone. Help!

I was slowing to a stop sign on level ground during heavy early morning fog. I was going about 35 mph. I pushed the brake pedal and it went all the way to the floor. The abs light came on. I had no brakes at all. This has happened 3 times before when i was coming to a stop sign at the top of a hill near my home. I ran the stop sign and hit a light pole. This accident bent my bumper in half and pushed it into the radiator and the fan.this caused radiator damage. It broke the right side bumper support and busted my headlights and fog lights.

I purchased my 1994 chevy s-10, vin [xxx], new in '94.within the first 3 months of ownership, i noticed a problem with the rear braking system.the problem, the adjustors are shoving the shoes too tight against the drums, causing them to drag, glazing the shoes, & after periods of time, burning up the shoes, warping the drums.i've had to replace shoes & drums an average of every 30,000 miles.taken the truck back several times with no results or problem acknowledgment.they clean them, adjust them, charge me, ship me out the door.when the roadway is wet or snowy, the rear brakes constantly lock up.this has thrown me into several intersections, into oncoming traffic, because of no brakes.when the rear brakes lock up the front brakes unload, leaving me with no brakes.the front pads go an average of 80,000 miles without needing changed.you ask for number of failures.the brakes fail during rains, snow, etc?each time i hit my brakes during these conditions is a failure.i can't list all incident dates, there's too many!i listed approx. As i proceeded to pass another vehicle, throttle stuck while vehicle was in passing gear.due to high engine rpm, vacuum assistance of the brakes was lost as well.this all occured while descending a long hill with a steep curve at the bottom.although i was standing hard on the brakes, i kept gaining speed.while attempting to brake, i shifted to neutral.shifting into neutral resulted in excessive rpm, so i had to shift back into drive gear to keep from blowing the engine.when the situation was getting critically dangerous(curve looming ahead and still gaining speed), and when i was about to turn off the ignition (my last remaining option), the throttle finally released.at one point, my speed was approx. 60 mph, although i was standing on the brakes.at this point, i haven't yet determined whether the cause is electronic or mechanical. My suspicion is a fault in the cruise control. I do know it scared me and is a potentially very dangerous problem.will notify if i can determine the exact cause of the problem.

I was driving home from my 2nd job on 4/27/99 around 9:00 pm, it was raining and my windshield wipers were working as i left my job, but before i could make it a mile down the road they quit.i had to stop in a dimly lit industrial park and try to get them to come back on, i was not able to accomplish that.i had to drive home in the pouring rain with my head hanging out the window basically, it was either that or walk in the dark and rain.i could have had an accident because of these faulty wipers.also, since i purchased this truck in '94my brakes have collapsed numerous times, at one point they collapsed when i was going down a slight hill, when they collapsed i swerved ever so slightly and side-swipped a curb which damaged my rim and caused a flat.since then i have had to have the master cylinder replaced, the brakes replaced constantly, and anytime i take it to a shop to be repaired they cannot find the problem.i only have 68,000 miles on a 5 year old truck and i have to be very careful driving it because i never know if the brakes will stop.

While driving at 30 mph consumer's girl friend pulled the steering wheel to the right, vehicle went out of control, went off the street into four yards, andhit a mail box. Back on the pavement of the drivewaythere are skid marks. Driver lost control of the vehicle which spinned out of control,and the rear of the vehicle snapped a telephone pole, andvehicle came to a stop.

The vehicle was taken to teeter chevrolet, 1512 w. Moline, malvern, ar 72104; 501-337-7504.i was informed upon pick up my vehicle that the bolts in the steering column had been sheared. Fortunately, the incident took place within 300 feet of merging onto the interstate. Thus, causing no accidents, but left me in the middle of a highway with no means of operating and/or turning my vechicle.
During manufacturing the bolt in the steering column was omitted, causing thevehicle to steer out of control. Manufacturer has been notified.

Cab floor cracked at front seat, left anchor.numerous crackes emanating from mounting point in cab floor.catastrophic failure of metal.
While doing tuneup work noticed cracks on the under side of the floor pan around driver's side seat mount and slightly to the rear of the seat mount. The cracks are small in size, but may grow large and pose a safety risk in the event of an accident.
There are leaves accumulatedunder the cowling and being sucked into the fan motor. While driving they come out of the vents inside the car on driver and passenger sides, gm contacted and stated the problem is normal, dealer contacted and vehicle has no warranty.

Emergency spare tire storage contains projections, which cause chafing/ worn spots to tire.
The spare tire cable broke while i was getting on to the freeway. Fortunately i had a chain and lock on it to prevent theft and it also prevented damage to my truck and the car following me. This is not the first problem and your last investigation was closed in 1999 with no recall. I have seen this problem numerous times. Does somebody have to be killed before gm recalls this problem or will they continue making money selling the replacement part for almost $70 and not be held responsible for their poor design?

The cruise control continues to accelerate, brakes and switch don't shut the cruise control off. I just want to know about any recalls on my pickup truck the only recall i have had was the fuel tank filler tube and then i see there is all kinds of recalls that i haven't been notifed on. My seat belts haven't worked right about the last two years. And now my brakes are not stopping or doing the antilock thing. I also own a 1996 pont. As i proceeded to pass another vehicle, throttle stuck while vehicle was in passing gear.due to high engine rpm, vacuum assistance of the brakes was lost as well.this all occured while descending a long hill with a steep curve at the bottom.although i was standing hard on the brakes, i kept gaining speed.while attempting to brake, i shifted to neutral.shifting into neutral resulted in excessive rpm, so i had to shift back into drive gear to keep from blowing the engine.when the situation was getting critically dangerous(curve looming ahead and still gaining speed), and when i was about to turn off the ignition (my last remaining option), the throttle finally released.at one point, my speed was approx. 60 mph, although i was standing on the brakes.at this point, i haven't yet determined whether the cause is electronic or mechanical. My suspicion is a fault in the cruise control. I do know it scared me and is a potentially very dangerous problem.will notify if i can determine the exact cause of the problem.

1995-1997 s-10's were recalled for the same wiper problem, did not include 1994 even though it is the same problem.

Windshield wiper motor failure.*mr the failure is a result of a failed cracked solder joints on the controller circuit board near the wiring harness connector. Depending on which solder joints crack or the severity of the crack,the wipers could work intermittently or not at all.*ph the consumer stated his work vehicle a 1997 chevrolet astro van experienced the same failure. The consumer felt since gmc and chevrolet were within the same family, a recall should have been issued for chevrolet as well.

I was driving home from my 2nd job on 4/27/99 around 9:00 pm, it was raining and my windshield wipers were working as i left my job, but before i could make it a mile down the road they quit.i had to stop in a dimly lit industrial park and try to get them to come back on, i was not able to accomplish that.i had to drive home in the pouring rain with my head hanging out the window basically, it was either that or walk in the dark and rain.i could have had an accident because of these faulty wipers.also, since i purchased this truck in '94my brakes have collapsed numerous times, at one point they collapsed when i was going down a slight hill, when they collapsed i swerved ever so slightly and side-swipped a curb which damaged my rim and caused a flat.since then i have had to have the master cylinder replaced, the brakes replaced constantly, and anytime i take it to a shop to be repaired they cannot find the problem.i only have 68,000 miles on a 5 year old truck and i have to be very careful driving it because i never know if the brakes will stop.

I found out the wipers don't work or quit working after a few minutes of rain or when it is really humid outside the don't work either, so i loose control of vehicle, because i try to pull over but cant see where to pull over, example trees signs curves. I understand that a lot of other vehicles where involved in the wiper recall, and would like to know why they are telling me that mine does not qualify due to the vin #. Windshield wipers had not been working on occasion. I went to the chevrolet dealer and they told me that other chevrolet trucks had been recalled for this same thing, but my truck did not have the right vin number to get it replaced. They wanted something like $250 for the same thing that was broken on all the other chevrolet s10. A wire is located badly and it breaks or shorts out or something. I can not afford that. Then one day going 60 mph in a pouring rain storm they completly shut off. We could not see a thing. We had to pull over to the side of the road. We were in heavy traffic and could not see anything!per the seat belts. They lock and with every move, or breath the seat belt tightens and chokes and squeezes the passager until you have to take it off, hand feed the seat belt back into the holder and then try to rebuckle your self.this is dangerous when you are on the high way or anywhere for that matter. You should not be cut inhalf just breathing in a seatbelt. Thank you.

Windshield wipers will intermittently stop working. Does not seem to be any specific conditions that cause the failure. Sometimes the wipers will work for a few minutes then quit, then begin working again. This happens in all modes; interval settings, low speed, high speed and when attempting to use the windshield washer. This situation is addressed in recall 98v150001 but does not cover my vehicle as the recall begins with trucks made on or after 8/94; my s-10 was built 5/94. There are apparently other owners who are experiencing the same situation whose vehicles fall outside the recall coverage (they were built before 8/94). Extend the recall coverage date to cover these older vehicles.

Windshield wiper motor failed.
Windshield wipers don't working due to the motor malfunctioning.
Recall 98v150000; windshield wipers work intermittently. Dealer contacted, and stated a crack in circuit board. Vehicle does not comply to recall 98043. Problem still exists.

Windshield wiper motor is working intermittently, and sometimes windshield wipers don't work at all.
Windshield wipers will quit working, if i wiggle the wire connector going into the motor they will start working again. I have been told that there is a recall of these wiper motors but when i contacted g.m. They said therewas no recall and i was not going to be helped .

Sporadically windshield wipers do not come on at all. Dealer replaced the module.
In wet climate the defective windshield wipers malfunctioned,causing the wipers to be inoperative in the rain,affecting visibility and almost causing an accident. Problem occurred 2 times.dealer stated the problem is the circuit board.

The consumer has been experiencing some problems withwindshield wipers and and fuel injection system.when the consumer turns the windshield wiper switch on, it fails to work.also, the fuel injection system has been leaking fuel around the intake manifold.the manufacturer has been contacted. *ml
