While driving at 50 mph there was a loud noise under the hood that caught the driver's attention, when the vehicle was pulled over, the hood was lifted, and there was a fire that ignited in the alternator,causing the vehicle to burn up. Dealer has not been contacted.
While vehicle was parked it caught on fire.fire department said it was an electrical problem.
Driving approximately 70mph and heard a buzzing sound, saw battery light on. As pulling overheard a thumping noise and the vehicle stopped. Noticed smoke coming from underneath the hood, raised the hood and it engulfed in flames. Vehicle was totaled, and cause of fire is unknown.
Wiring runs through front body hinge pillar at a 90 degree angle and was rubbing up against a metal bracket, causing installation on wiring to come off, resulting in a underdash fire.
My son and i both own chevrolets s10 trucks. Both of them developed profuse oil leaks from the oil filter adapter lines. This caused a total hemorrhage of oil before it could be discovered and damaged the engines. What a surprise to discover several other similar general motors vehicles in the same shop with the same problem. The shop owners said this is a common defect with these chevrolet and gmc trucks, and that they had replaced leaking lines on 8 or 10 in just the past month. If this is happening in one small shop in town, how many is it happening to all over the country? most of the trucks suffered significant engine damage requiring a complete overhaul because you don't know the oil is leaking out until the engine begins making noise or seizes. This could be a very dangerous defect because the oil lines are very near the exhaust pipe and could spray oil onto it. Someone traveling at highway speeds would be unaware this was happening until the vehicle was afire. It could also spray oil onto the tire and cause loss of control. General motors should be made to be responsible for correcting both the defective design and for repairing/replacing damaged engines caused by it.
Water pump failed.
Oil lines have been replaced 6 times. Dealer unable to correct problem. Cause is unknown. Please describe.

Pe99044, the spare tire cable broke , which almost caused the spare tire to fall out andcouldhave resulted inan accident.consumer installed an after market locking device to prevent theft of the tire. This prevented the tire from falling to the pavement.
While driving vehicle spare tire fell off due to the cable that held tire became frayed.

Fuel pump sending unit has rusted out. Dealers are aware of problem. Cause unknown.
Fuel injector assembly leaking fuel and plastic tubes that carry the fuel out of the assembly crimped, preventing fuel from flowing properly, replass assemble and fuel pump.
Cpi fuel injection unit failed allowing excessive amount of fuel to enter engine.a large amount of this fuel was not burned in the engine and sent out of the engine into the exhaust system.this condition posed a major safety hazard for a possible engine fire or explosion according to my mechanic.he has service many of these similar 4.3l cpi engines which have had the same failure of the cpi fuel injection unit.i am reporting this problem with my vehicle in order to prevent a serious incident in a vehicle with the same engine.

Abs computer/valve system defective. Brakes "chatter" on application, occasionally have a wheel lockup when braking. Flushed fluid system, no mechanical problem, good pads, no fluid leak, vacuum booster ok. Dealer cannot find problem, doesn't really want to change out computer/valve system. Is there a recall on this system?
I have recently taken this vehicle into two different chevy dealers and twice was told there is nothing wrong with it.while driving at speeds under 40mph or so when braking to stop or slow for a turn, the brake pedal ratchets down to the floor and the abs light comes on.i'm afraid to drive this car because of the pedal going to the floor.while the car was at one dealer,they called to tell me there is nothing wrong with itand that i could disconnect them if i wanted,now if there is nothing wrong why would i do that.i called thechevy#1-800-222-1020 and was told that my vin# wasn't part of the recall and to take it to an independent to see if they canfix it.all i want is the car fixed so its safe ,i've tried twice at gm dealers and wasted money.help!!!
Brakes: computer module failed.
Brakes went out because the brake fluid had boiled.

We have a 1992 s-10 blazer with a two wheel locking differential-rear axle. Since we purchased it, we have always feltthat the brakes were too hard to apply and failed to stop quickly. On several occasions we had to stop on gravel and the vehicle slid instead of coming to a complete stop. The 1992 two wheel drive blazers need to be included in the present recall.

Orignial equipment on1992 chevrolet s10 pick up, tire size 205/75r14. , while driving vehicle will go to right and willvibrate due todrivers f ronttirebelt breaking.manufucturers are putting defective tireson market and charging top dollar.
While drivig and had stay on since then, consumer had taken vehicle to dealer and said there is a problem with vehicle computer that why the light still on.
While driving 55 mph up hill in cruisethrottle body stuck wide open. Driver had to shut off ignition to stop truck from accelerating at such a high rate of speed. Depressingbrake pedal had no effect.truck has been taken to the dealership a number of times for this problem. Dealer was not able to duplicate this problem continued on back.

While putting vehicle in reverse vehicle suddenly accelerates at a high rate of speed.there is also black smoke noticeable from rear of vehicle. Owner has taken vehicle to dealers and was told battery voltage is low,causing problems with micro processer in cpu.
When brakes are applied the pedal is hard, not allowing the vehicle to stop the way it should. The dealer has been notified.also, runs very roughwhen it starts.subsequently starts to race and continuesto race until it warms up.
