Problems with evenflo infant/toddler child safty seat. Adjustment bar locks keep breaking. We are on our 3rd seat in 3 yrs.
-the contact stated that while driving her 1991 chevrolet s10 blazer with the cruise control engaged the vehicle decelerates.then the accelerator pedal went to the floor while she still had her foot on the brake pedal. The contact stated that she doesn't use the cruise control any more, she's afraid that this may happen again.the contact hasn't taken the vehicle to dealership to have the vehicle diagnosed.
While driving at 15 mph consumer heard some type of popping sound andpulled over to the side, and saw some smoke coming from the hood. Alternator caught onfire fire department came out and put out the fire.
Engine compartment fire: an alleged malfunction in the alternator, resulting in engine compartment fire ea94-029.
Electrical system fire, the alternator caught fire while driving.

An electrical short in the wiring, caused the instrument panel to smoke.

Plastic shield installed on front of gas tank to shield tank from road damage captured dirt/debris, the retained moisture caused tank to rust at seams/gas leak.
Skid pad cover is holding water against fuel tank and causing corrosion which leads tofuel leak fromfuel tank. Dealer was notified. Feel free to provide any further information.
Fuel leaks when tank is filled up.
The front of the gas tank has a foamy pad between it and the plastic protection shield.the pad collects moisture and rusted out the tank.

When letting off the accelerator vehicle shimmiesalot more.also, when changing gears there is clunking sound uponreleasing the clutch.this was due to the throw out bearing, which was replaced in sept of 92. Bearing when out again in jan of 97 at 64,000 miles. Vehicle has not been repaired at this time.

Steering failure was catastrophic. Vehicle veered suddenly in heavy traffic.managed to control vehicle, slow down and exit.universal joint failed when nylon connectors, approximately 1/4 inch thick, shattering without warning.
Transmission slips out of gear occasionally, also is very difficult to get into reverse.

Driver seatbelt comes loose while vehicle moving and while sitting still. Talked to dealer in pickens recently same story not a safety problem. This problem has been present since the vehicle was new.the driver belt got to where would never latch. Passanger belt would not extend most of the time not used for that reason.

Ea94038; when the roads are slippery or going over a railroad track, the abs braking system malfunctioned,causing extended stopping distance which caused rear end accidents. (1) while sitting in heavy traffic at a stop light in the city.i have a habit of not stopping close to vehicles at stop lights.while stopped at the light behind a new looking explorer of some kind my truck lunged forwardwithout warning by itself with my feet on the brakes.if i had stopped closer to the van i would have hit it very hard.i read no one can stand in front of the truck with the motor running because of this.(2) started my truck in my yard.it quickly idle very fast and would not idle down. Put in gear and it took off very fast and brakes locked up.put in neutraland turned off the switch before the vehicle got in the highway still trying to stop with the hard brakes.my truck never did this before.i live in the city where young children play in the street in front of my home.it could have been deadly. Why do my truck do these things?i went into the computer looking for answers and found a lot of s10 owners had the same problems.if i had been driving in a curve, on the interstate or just some one crossing the street it would have been a very bad situation.i thank god for letting me be at home and no one was hurt just scared.

While driving at approx 10mph exited at a driveway, went to apply brakes, vehicle did not stop.brakes made noise, pushed brakes to floor. Just redone in may 97 with pads and shoes. Weather was clear dry, has to apply brakes sooner than ususal. This defect can result in an accident.dealer told consumer that this is happening because he is not used to abs and he needs to get used to the way they work, abs light is illuminated and will not go off, regular brakes seem to work fine, consumer has had 3 minor accidents due to the faulty abs, only 1 of the accidents caused damage to another vehicle.
The abs in my vehicle failed without warning or producing an error code. Other owners that i have spoken with have told me of having the same problems. But the manufacturer has been of no help. I would be content to know how to disable the system in order to prevent future incident, but no one will volunteer this information because it is "safety" equipment. I can not, in good conscience, sell this vehicle. However i am very uncomfortable driving it, knowing that i will eventually have another accident with it because there is no answer as to what is wrong with the abs. I do not understand how the manufacturer can install equipment of this type without a fail-safe that will bypass the abs in the event of an equipment malfunction.

Steering column was loose and going into the oppositedirection whenturning. Consumer took steering column off,and noticed the flange assembly.

The left front control arm mounting bracket broke away from the frame. This vehicle has never been in an accident. The failure was not due to hitting any object such as a curb or pothole. It appears that the failure was due to fatigue.

The front suspension broke away from the frame at the welds. The entire front right suspension and wheel were broken away from the fram .nothing was holding the suspension to the frame
Nuts attached to lower control arms, rear spring and shackles fail.

While driving down the interstae i85.i headr a very load bang ....my left rear tire seemingly blew out..my truck went into a very hard to handle slide.the truck went very out of control to the right...i was able to pull of the interstae..and noticed the tire didn't feel flat....the tire tread completly seperated from the tire.and the tire was still inflated..which is what made the truck so out off control..would like to know if this has happened to the gillette tire before seeing i have three more on the truck...thanks timothy kunkel.(tiresize: 205/14)

Tire tread peeled off near exit 15w on interstate 95 swerved to shoulder and hit barier on left front bumper causing damage to the turn signal, grill and bumper.( dot number: hyker3b tire size: p20570r14 )
One of three the tires installed experienced severe tread seperation and the vehicle was stopped prior to total failure. Are you currrently looking into other sizes of the atx raidals other than the 15" tires? i had to change out all four tires but have kept the old tires and taken pictures of the seperation.( dot number: vdk6axc tire size: 27x8.50r14 )
Paint is chipping off very badly. Other vehicles of same year,make,and model are doing the same i have seen by observation.i would like information about a possible recall on the paint.

(1) while sitting in heavy traffic at a stop light in the city.i have a habit of not stopping close to vehicles at stop lights.while stopped at the light behind a new looking explorer of some kind my truck lunged forwardwithout warning by itself with my feet on the brakes.if i had stopped closer to the van i would have hit it very hard.i read no one can stand in front of the truck with the motor running because of this.(2) started my truck in my yard.it quickly idle very fast and would not idle down. Put in gear and it took off very fast and brakes locked up.put in neutraland turned off the switch before the vehicle got in the highway still trying to stop with the hard brakes.my truck never did this before.i live in the city where young children play in the street in front of my home.it could have been deadly. Why do my truck do these things?i went into the computer looking for answers and found a lot of s10 owners had the same problems.if i had been driving in a curve, on the interstate or just some one crossing the street it would have been a very bad situation.i thank god for letting me be at home and no one was hurt just scared.
Vehicle has accelerated 3-4 times at highway speed.consumer shifted to neutral to stop acceleration.
Body rust and paint chipping and peeling digital dashboard is dead except for speedometer and trip meter seatbelts do not lock up when you slam the brakes on front suspension is very squiky
Left side of windshield leaks.
Door windows jump when rolling up/down.
Wiper switch failed.
While backing out of driveway the right side front wheel broke for no reasn. Owner is very concerned about problem.
