I own a 1994 s-10 blazer and on my way home out of nowhere the overhead compartment that houses the map lights and the dome light for the inside of the truck caught on fire fully engulfing the console and the head liner.the pensacola fire department came and pulled the headliner away in which the fire was inbetween the upper side of the headliner and the roof of the truck . The cause was determined to be a short in the wiring to the dome light witch was installed buy the dealer.. I did have pictures and had the fire department not came as soon as they did the whole truck would of gone up in flames . Please email me to let me know if there was or is a recall on this.

I was driving normal like i do everyday and when to apply the brake and the abs kicked in when it didn't need to, there wasn't wet roads or anything to cause any issue with traction. The abs pumped air into the brakes making it too hard to slow down and i almost hit the car in front of me. This has now been an issue for a few weeks here. I put my scan tool in it told me that the trouble code was the rear brake sensor is erratic......the only problem is that there is no brake sensors or even speed sensors back there and with further information i found that many people had this problem and the cause is a 800 dollar abs electronic hydraulic unit.i read that there was a recall that effected 2.5 million gm vehicle models including mine but i cant find anything. This problem can be life threatening to not only me but the people around me in traffic if someone decides to cut me off or if i ever needed to brake hard i am almost sure that i will slam into them or something. Hopefully with this complaint there will be resolution.

Event 1driver inattention lead to excessive speed on off ramp. Hard application of brakes had little or no effect, and a "floating feeling". Slid sideways twice in different directions, scrubbed speed off with tire friction, brakes finally kicked in. Event 2driver inattention while approaching intersection leads to "panic" application of brakes, with same no effect "floating feeling" entered intersection after running as stop sign, t-boned a car, with injuries to the t-boned driver, citation issued, large insurance claim, points off license.this defect only occurs (in my experience) in "panic braking situations", i was unaware of recalls, until i started to put this old vehicle back into service after being laid off and losing my company car. Now i know the cause of my accident. I am still alive luckily. How many fatalities possibly resulted from this defect ? i am now aware of old recalls, but am apparently not eligible for repairs. Nhtsa not calling this a safety recall and allowing gm to get away with a "performance improvement recall is a crime.

The contact owns a 1994 chevrolet s/t blazer. While driving approximately 70 mph in a heavy thunderstorm, the windshield wipers stopped working. The contact had to pull the vehicle over and had it towed to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 178,000.
