While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled due to a blown fuse. *scc

Seems to be a short in electrical system. Low fuel light comes on even with a full tank. Sometimes when u open passenger door the fuel guage goes back to full and the light goes out. The throttle seems to stick all the time i run 89 octane fuel in it and run fuel sytem cleaner thru it also but nothing seems to help. It seems to have a catch in the pedalwhen u first push on it.which is dangerous when the roads are wet or icy.because u have to mash the pedal so hard.causing over acceleration.also the switches for the four wheel drive go out when u travel over 70 miles without stopping.dt

Ground strap to engine block came loose.starter ground current then passed through a hydraulic hose causing it to severely overheat.hose later failed resulting in simultaneous loss of power brakes and power steering.

Vehicle did not stop, applied emergency brakes, i was backing out of my driveway went to apply brakes peddle went to the floor, lucky there were no vehicle passing while backing up.after further investigation found that brake lines were rusted, had to get towed to mechanic for repair at a cost of $1,000. The vehicle only has 86,000 miles, the only part on the whole vehicle that is rusted are the brake lines, i hope that this can be rectified because this was an expensive repair and could of become deadly. ( the mechanic used stainless steel brake lines for the repair which he showed me the receipt at a cost $35.00 the rest was labor cost2 days in shop).

The abs light illuminated.the abs system failed and does not work.*nlm

The vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however it is not included in the recall due to the vin.the vehicle has not been to the dealership at this time to determine the problem.the manufacturer has been alerted.updated 3/20/2006 -

I bought this vehicle in dec. 2001. I had problems with the abs from the beginning. The dealer had certain part of the abs replaced, but problems persisted. The abs does not stop thew vehicle at low speeds( under 35mph) and this has resulted in 2 crashes and vehicle damage. Dealer can not seem to repair problem.

At times when pushing the breaks to stop, the pedal goes to the floor, the problem has not been corrected.

Brakesnot working properly.consumer has hadpads/rotors, and drums replaced. Contacted dealer, anddealer can't find cause.

10/12/2000 (mileage18879) machined rear drums due to being out of round, 12/08/2000 (mileage22107)replaced both rear drums, 12/12/2000 (mileage22280) replaced both rear drums, 01/10/2000 (mileage24197) repair: resurfaced and cleaned front rotors, 1/26/2000 (mileage24714) brakes pulsating. Technician stated the condition could not be duplicated, 07/20/2001 (mileage37987) brakes pulsating. Rear drums out of round and replaced along with new shoes. The vehicle still has the same problem but the dealers don't want to fix it without me having to pay for it since it is over the 36,000 mile warranty. I don't feel that i should have to pay for a defect that started(and has not been fixed) before the warranty period ended. Thank you for any help that you can give me with this problem. Marvin mero.

Clunking noise comming up steering shaft to steering wheel indicates something loose in steering linkeage when turining either right or left at all speeds. At freeway speeds when turning slightly to right or left on curves clunking noise is loud andstarts to viberate up shaft to steering wheel into hands and arms causing body fatigue. I don't feel safe in this truck because of what may happen when complete failure occurs.

While loading the vehicle tailgate snapped and collapsed.consumer sustained minor back injuries (mild pain).

The cable that holds the tailgate in place continually breaks. The dealer told the consumer to bring the truck in to be repaired but when he got there they told him the repair was only for the full size truck.

While sitting on the tailgate, the support straps snapped.*sc

The end of july, my right front tire developed a bubble and some separation.i had the tire replaced and had the remainder checked and rotated.on august 17 while on my way home from tucson, the right rear tire separated and blew.we went off the road and rolled into a palo verde tree.luckily, myself and my passenger escaped with minor cuts and bruises.the insurance company totalled my vehicle.they did not cover anywhere near replacement value of the truck nor my welding equipment which was also totalled.i believe that general tire should be made to compensate me for these losses.since the accident, i've done some research into the incidence of tire separation on general tires.specifically, the ameri 550 as has a higher claim rate (124.4/million) than the firestone tires which were recalled (15/million).over and above the monetary losses, i feel very lucky to be alive.this brings me to my major concern, the idea that maybe the next person driving on these tires might not be so lucky.general tire needs to be held accountable.

Firestone wilderness tires (p265 75 r16) experienced 5 flat tires, 2 of those were unrepairable, consumer is requesting a reimbursement for replacement tires.

I was driving on a gravel road when my spare tire under my 2000 z71 chevrolet extended cab pickup fell from under the truck. It made the rear end of my truck bounce up as it turned sideways coming under the bed of the truck. I was pulling a two wheel trailer at the time and the tire went under the trailer. I looked in my rear view mirror when i felt the truck bounce up and saw the trailer as it hit the tire. The trailer bounced about three to four feet in the air as it ran over the tumbling tire. A car behind me almost had an accident dodging the tire as it flew up in the air and landed in the ditch. I told the chevy dealership about the accident. They said the cable holding the spare tire under the truck had broken and it wasn't covered on a recall.i'm not sure about why the cable broke but if there had been a big accident, there would have been a big lawsuit. I don't remember the exact date or time but the dealership should because i called and reported it immediately. The dates are approximate.
