I have noticed that my car cuts off frequently at stop lights also my car accelerates slow when entering onto highway... I was in a car accident 7/18/16 in which my airbags on steering wheel partiallu deployed while the others did not in result leaving me with a fractured finger.

The car was rear ended at a fast speed as it was proceeding at a slow pace as traffic was starting to take off from being at a stand still. The person driving was slammed into the steering wheel at the same time the seat belt flew off and the buckle struck the driver on the arm causing injury the seatbelt would not retract back into place and also the driver's knee hit the steering causing the key to break off into the ignition causing injury to the knee and leg. The car accident happened on the top of the bridge leading to the highway. The car was moving at a slow pace because traffic had stopped then proceeded to go. It didn't have a chance to go full speed before being struck. I believe the force of the impact caused the seatbelt to malfunction i don't know why the air bag didn't deploy.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While driving at an unknown speed, the air bag warning indicator illuminated intermittently and an abnormal ringing noise was heard. The contact was concerned for her safety that the air bag might deploy. The contact called keller chevrolet (3600 genesee st, buffalo, ny 14225, (716) 650-4589) and was informed to schedule a diagnostic appointment. The contact was informed that there would be a diagnostic fee. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer due to the diagnostic and repair fees. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the vin. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

My windshield and back window was fogging on the inside during the fall and frosting on the inside during the winter. My carpets felt like a sponge. It turned out there were 6" of standing water under my floorboards on the driver side of the car (front and back). The mechanic traced this back to an opening between two panels, just below the windshield, that were never sealed. He said i was lucky. If the water got any higher, it could have interfered with the electrical and airbag system. I also lucked out in that there was no mold growth. My car was purchased new only five years prior and had never been in an accident. Repair required the removal of my windshield, a side panel on the car, my driver seat, and the tearing up of my carpets.

Whenever a passenger rides in the front seat all electrical components lose proper function.heating/air-conditioning does not work, multiple warning sensors go off, radio does not work, gas gauge does not work, speedometer does not work, blinkers do not work.

The contact owned a 2014 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated that while driving approximately55 mph, when a deer suddenly came from the front driver side of the vehicle causing the contact to crash into it. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed and deemed totaled. The contact received neck, internal bruising on the left side of their body, chest and abdominal area injuries that required medical attention. The contact had not spoken with the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 109,194.

2014 chevrolet malibu.consumer writes in regards to transmission jerking and service airbag light illuminating.the consumer stated when taking off from a stopped position, the vehicle would stall a few seconds later, then jerk and take off fast.

Car was sitting still and it was rear ended hard and sent my car forward into the car with b front of me my air bags did not go off. It was a high impact crash and they should have gone off i was seen in emergency room with possible fractures to my sternum and third rib.i feel this should be compensated and the car maker needs to be aware in the event other cars have this problem. While someone is in my passenger seat, ally gages will go to 0, (including while driving) the seat warms will turn off, also my stereo shuts down. I get a notification saying "service tire monitoring system", "service thief deterrent system" also something about the airbags.

I pulled to a stop at a stop sign. The car went into auto stop. As i try to navigate right the steering lock up on me. This made the car start climbing the side of the road.i tried to step on the brakes and the car accelerated and hit the wall.

My passenger front air bag isn't working and my electrical to my emc isn't working and when battery is unhooked the interior lights stay on i've had several sensors to go bad.

While traveling from work (boulder) to home (westminster) i hit a patch of slush whichpulled my car to the right. While attempting to correct the cars pull, the back end ofthe car slid out from behind me causing the car to go sideways for a little bit before thecar got traction and went front end first into the center median/barrier. I then got outof any oncoming traffics way, pulled over, and called 911. The vehicle was in motion on a highway. The seat belt never locked up to protect me and the airbag never deployed. I hit the wall head on once my car caught grip.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While at a stop and attempting to yield for an emergency vehicle, another vehicle crashed into the rear of the contact's vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained face injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. I'm driving on a city street with a passenger in the passenger seat and suddenly the air bag light comes on and all of the gauges on the dash board stop working (speedometer/gas) and radio goes black. It happens intermittently and usually only when someone is in the passenger seat. I'm not sure if i lose my headlights as well because i haven't had it happen at night yet.

This car is stalling and surging. You go to leave the stopped position it hesitate or stalls. Dies like it's starved of fuel. Rpm raises up with doing anything like a loss of power. Codes p0010 p0011 p0002

Battery or engine compartment fire.see attachment.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle went into auto stop mode and failed to start when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The contact performed a diagnostic test, which indicated that the generator battery control module failed. The contact replaced the battery. Some time after the battery replacement, the failure recurred. While stopped at a traffic light a second time, the vehicle went into auto stop mode as designed. The driver released the brake pedal;however, the vehicle jerked and began to hesitate. In addition, the engine warning indicator illuminated. The driver was able to drive the vehicle; however, it seemed as if it would stall at any moment. The contact ran another diagnostic test, which resulted in the same failure message. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing or repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the recall was for the 2013 models and not the 2014 models. The manufacturer opened case number: 8/3551621673. The approximate failure mileage was 78,600.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated that the remote control start failed and the alarm sounded. The contact had to use the function button to reset the alarm. The failure occurred several times. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where the failure was unable to be replicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.

Auxiliary battery in the rear compartment failure causing fire while the vehicle was parked and not powered on. The vehicle had been powerless for approximately 10 hours prior to the fire.

The vehicle has an auto stop/start feature that engages when at redlight.the function has stopped working.paid to have expensive auxillary battery replaced and system checked.however system is still inoperational and the dealership has told me there is no fix.

Whenever a passenger rides in the front seat all electrical components lose proper function.heating/air-conditioning does not work, multiple warning sensors go off, radio does not work, gas gauge does not work, speedometer does not work, blinkers do not work.

While someone is in my passenger seat, ally gages will go to 0, (including while driving) the seat warms will turn off, also my stereo shuts down. I get a notification saying "service tire monitoring system", "service thief deterrent system" also something about the airbags.

The car will not start and messages popped up on the dashboard stating battery saver assist, power steering care, stabilock control.

Service engine signal won't come off and my car won't cut off

I had to slam on brakes would not brake and power cut off and cut back on

Malibu while driving just has hot air blowing and while sitting room to dealership i bought it from and they can not duplicate the problem and says it is fine. It constantly blows hot air in 104 degree weather checked coolant and antifreeze and compressor still not working been trying to get it fixed but everyone cannot duplicate the problem

The reason for this complaint is because i believe chevrolet has defective abs sensor embedded in the wheel hub of this vehicle. We purchased two of these chevrolet malibu cars a couple months apart and have experienced the same problem with each. One of our vehicles was out of warranty (vin [xxx]) and repairs come at a cost of $450.00 plus per occurrence with under 65 thousand miles. We have suffered the same failure twice with the out of warranty vehicle less than 2 months and 3 thousand miles apart. After doing minimal research and comments made by the mechanic at our small dealer i believe this is a much larger problem than a coincidence. People purchase these vehicles with the abs - traction control and expect them to function properly without expensive repairs as regular maintenance. I believe this should be investigated further.as of today there are no recalls for this defect. I have opened a service request with gm [xxx]this vehicle had a sensor failure which is embedded in the hub assembly. The sensor failure disables the abs and traction control system of the vehicle. The entire hub assembly had to be replaced. This failure happened within the chevrolet bumper to bumper warranty period consequently it was repaired under the manufacturer warranty.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Power steering randomly going out while driving then all warning lights come on dash and car stops accelerating. Shut car off and all lights turn off and car drives fine and then randomly comes on again while driving and power steering doesn't work nearly got in an accident . After reading many forums this seems to be a frequent problem that needs to be addressed by chevy !! very very unsafe still can't solve how to fix the issues and have to drive children around!

The contact owned a 2014 chevrolet malibu. Approximately one hour after parking the vehicle, flames were present under the hood of the vehicle. The fire department was called and extinguished the flames. The vehicle was destroyed. A fire report was filed. The cause of the fire was not determined. Cannon motors (69900 highway 82 west, greenwood, ms) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 170,000.

Ac and radio completely stopped working. No power whatsoever.

I have a 2014 chevy malibu ls. About a year ago while at a stop light the car engine shut stopped working, and all the lights came off. I had to get the assistance of a police officer to control traffic away from my car, until the tow truck arrived and towed it to the shop. I was told that the auxiliary battery was bad, and had it replaced. The carit worked well. In august of this year the car engine began shutting off, while i was driving, and sometimes after it was parked overnight. I had the batteries checked, and was told that they were bad. I live in az, and the weather here is very hot, both were replaced on august 27th and 28th, less than 2 months ago, with two new batteries. The car worked wellup until this evening, when it shut down completely as i was driving into my yard. All the lights came off, and i cannot get the key out of the ignition. I am glad that it happened when i entered my yard and not while i was driving on the freeway.will tow it to the shop in the morning to find out what the problem is now.

The vehicle stops while in motion and in driving gear then wheel lock up. Making it unable to proceed to turn or drive. This does not matter if on highway or public street. Had to have car towed to cottmans and the mechanic stated that this issue is known and was covered by manufacturers under codes p0011 and p2646. Your assistance is needed with resolving this matter as my car is not driveable.

Key consisting becomes stuck in the ignition cylinder of my 2014 chevrolet malibu. The vehicle will not turn off due to the key being stuck in the ignition. This prevents the doors from being locked and increasing the chance of the vehicle being stolen. There are a multitude of videos for this issue online and all are associated with chevrolet vehicles. This is a reoccurring issue with this make of vehicles.

When my auto stop function initiates my battery loses power and cuts off my car completely.

Was driving car and stopped at a stop light when all of sudden the car just turned off and everything locked up. The key stayed stuck in the ignition. The car was not able to go into neutral or park. All the electrical system shut down. Very dangerous situation to be in. Had i been on a highway that could of got me killed!!! my battery and alternator were in good condition. So it didn't make sense for car to die out of nowhere.

This car has been damaged from the day we purchased it, we were finally told it was more than likely tied down too tight on the delivery truck. It has many issues such as the body doesn't line up, the electronics are bad and the care has shut down going down the freeway twice, the paint is dirty and peeling, the gm rep said there was nothing they can do to fix the vehicle but they will not stand behind it and refund my money or give me another new one.

Control panned for the 2014 chevy malibu that controls heating a/c defrosting ect does not work . All of the lights went off and none of the controls are operational

The cars stop start function is malfunctioning and will completely turn the car off when engaged. I have almost been rear ended twice in the last two weeks due to this. This happens anytime the function is engaged. I just purchased the car march 17,2020

My car is throwing a rocker arm valve code but chevy is saying its not covered under the nhtsa program that was passed. Its a 2014 chevy malibu 2.5 l with 93000 miles on it. It causes the auto stop to malfunction and the car will completely shut down when stopped. It will not restart at all. Have been almost hit 3 times at major intersections.

The defrost/heater/air condition control doesn't work. The vent selected lights work but the power control dial doesn't

Gov vehicle was traveling north on the baltimore washington parkway near interstate 695.the steering and brakes failed, and the driver moved the vehicle safely to the shoulder and exited the vehicle.the vehicle began to smoke and caught fire. The traction control , steering, brake and abs warning lamps appeared.

When i come to a full stop at a red light or stop sign, when my car tries to use the auto stop feature the majority of the time it fails to start back on which causes it to fully turn off while the key is still turned and the car is in drive as if the car was still driving. I don't know what this problem is nor do i know what's causing it. I changed my spark plugs thinking that might of been the problem but it still continues to do the same malfunction. Please help.

The vehicle is regularly requiring a jump start due to a low battery voltage. While operating my car whenever i come to a stop the auto start/stop feature activates and my engine is shut off. As i release my foot from the brake and the engine restarts all power to my vehicle is completely lost temporarily, including the power to my steering wheel which instantly locks up. It's been very scary and concerning to say the very least. I've also lost power to other systems on my car like the climate control system being unresponsive entirely, not being able to adjust it at all. The climate control section underneath the radio controls were completely blacked out and non-functioning. There was no buttons illuminated nor were the ambient lighting around it illuminated. I tried restarting my vehicle and that didn't work. The climate control eventually was functioning again shortly after. While driving down the road with my foot on the accelerator, i regularly get an alert from the information screen in between the gauges stating something along the lines of "service stabilitrak". Every time the message appears i feel that my engine or transmission loses a bit of it's sense of functionality. My car jerks regularly. I was told it may be the auxiliary battery which i've replaced and i'm still experiencing these issues.

Tamara recall check engine turn on and when eco turns on my radio turns off

Code u0121 lost connection with electronic brake control module. When coming to a stop, the vehicle stalls and the rpm's drop. Jerky acceleration. While driving at speed, vehicle stutters an acceleration.

I believe my 2014 chevrolet malibu is experiencing a manufacturing recall involving driving visibility issues with the defrost/defogger system that was recalled on all 2014 chevrolet malibu's made between 06-2013 and 11-2013. The recall number i found for that was #13v567000 and the recall came out on 11-13-2013. The exact description for this recall states, ''the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (hvac) control in these vehicles may intermittently become inoperable when the vehicle is started, preventing the windshield defroster from working. Thus, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) no. 103, "windshield defrosting and defogging systems."' my car was manufactured in 09-2013. The problem i'm having is i am only able intermittently turn on my air conditioning, heat, and defrost system. Sometimes it will turn on when i turn the knob with the fan icon, and sometimes it won't turn on at all, even for periods of over 24 hours. Not only does this mean i can no longer confidently control the temperature of the car, but i can't always use my defrost option either which creates a major visibility safety issue. It does not matter if the car is in motion or if it is parked for this to occur. When the system does turn on, everything works fine. This is a car i'm still paying on and i'm not even gauraunteed to be able to use this basic safety function when needed. I contacted my dealer and gave my vin number to them, and unfortunately for me they said my specific car was not apart of the 2014 chevrolet malibu recall. I'm asking if my incident could please be investigated and reconsidered as part of the recall considering my issue matches the exact description of it. I'm not sure where to go next or what to do about this whole process. I appreciate and thank you for all your time and attention to my concern.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While driving and making a turn, the vehicle stalled in the middle of traffic. The contact had to place the vehicle into park and restart the engine. On one occasion, the contact had to get the police to help push the vehicle and the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home. The vehicle was driven to tim lally chevrolet (24999 miles rd, warrensville heights, oh 44128, (440) 359-8781) where it was diagnosed that the battery saver module needed to be installed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 66,300.

When the auto stop kicks it at light the car shuts off completely and takes a few minutes to restart with multiple attempts to turn the key. This is a accident hazard and the 2014 malibu have no option to turn off the auto stop like the newer cars.. Been happening for a year

I started my car and drove about 1/4 of a mile and a warning light came up on my car stating engine power reduced. Pulled over put car in park turned car off then on then drive. Car did fine for about a mile. Then car showed reduced engine power again andthen completely shut off in middle of road and would not start back. Was in middle of curve going up hill. Car would not even roll when placed in neutral so that i could get it out of road.

When start stop was engaged at light the car shut off everything on the dash and radio went blank. It auto started and ac was no longer working. Afterwards i smelled a slight burning scent (in louisiana traffic, i was unsure it was me) but car ran fine. When start stop engaged there was a longer than normal pause before would auto start would engage. It would intermittently fail to crank on occasion for a few key turns. Engine light came on. Trunk would mysteriously pop open. Started displaying two key fobs programmed, abs stable track, reduced engine power, low battery and another thing i can't remember at start up.i changed the battery and alternator with new ones and the next day the instrument panel flickered as well as head lights. And when i was to take it in to dealership it had complete electrical failure. The dealership said it was the engine fuse block and replaced it. Now the engine light is still on and has a pause before it start. Will not send diagnostics to my chevy app. Remote start is not working with eng light on. I told them i thought is was battery control module but he insisted that it was just the engine fuse block. I cannot explain the anxiety. And have told my family that if i die in that car to sue gm. There should be nothing wrong with this car at 6 years old. 53000 miles and is driven less than 50 miles a week.

The engine light came on with ap2646 code.after attempting to repair, and the code remaining i attempted to find part12633613. Unable to locate the part i brought it in to a garage. They replaced the same part i had already replaced, and still the engine light remained. They were also unable to locate the referenced part online or through a dealership (mangino chevrolet). I contacted several dealerships and gm, the party is discontinued and back ordered at parts stores and dealerships. Without this part, the car can not be inspected and becomes a safety issue, and s legal issue of continued to operate on the road (in ny and elsewhere i imagine). The part is faulty on many cars if the back order is an accurate indication. Although it does not prevent safe operation of the car, the car can not be inspected overall for safety until the engine light is fixed.

"takata recall" when my wife got into car and turned it on she turned a/c on and it was only blowing hot air. Then she noticed all dash lights and gauges were not working as well. It also gave her lots of prompts saying service air bags and oil. She tried driving it down the street and she noticed odometer, speedometer, and gas gauges were not working as well. She also said the touchscreen for radio was totally black and radio was not working. So she brought it back home and turned it off and radio came on and did not want to turn off even while car was off and doors were open. So i came home and turned car back on and now everything seems to be working properly. We dont know if this is an early sign of something going out or is going to be out in the future but this is a safety issue because you can be driving and what if this happens again......

Bought car brand new from the chevy dealership in 2015. The check engine light comes on within a year. Code 305f. Replaced aux battery. 1 year later, code 305f, again. Replaced aux battery under warranty. Another code popped up..this was a sensor; replaced under warranty. Nov 2018, again, code 305f. Another aux battery replaced. Here we are, dec 2019, code 305f. Dealership states since we've replaced with a gel battery and both batteries are reading good but recharge, that it is the computer module on top of the battery which controls the auto stop/start and the remote start. In the almost 5 years i have had my car, it has been in the shop for this problem more than 3 times now and 2 times for hub assembly that should not have gone out at the low mileage of 42k. There is a clear problem with this 305f and the hub assembly as chevy has a service bulletin on the 305f and many chevy malibu owners have made several hundred complaints according to online sources. This is a safety issue because the car will "die"(shut off completely) while at a stop sign or light which could result in a rear end.this car, along with the other 2014-2015 are being treated as though there is no problem. I'm sick of spending $140.00 on an aux battery and wasting time for something that they know is worthy of a recall but are to cheap or just don't care about the buyer. As i write this, i am sitting at sterling mccall chevrolet in houston for the wonderful 305f code. Do something about it! i was sitting at a light when the auto shut off/start kicked off and back on which causedthe car to lunge forward. That's when the check engine light illuminated the first time. I drive my car because i have to and still paying it off, but i no longer feel safe in it and it puts me and my family along with other drivers at risk. I have about 2 years left on my payments.

The car set on fire after the engine was turned off. Within minutes the whole car was engulfed in flames. The fire department reported the fire was electrical. Gm reportedly investigated the charred remains weeks after the fire and declined to provide any information on the investigation or compensation for the vehicle.

When i turn my car on service power steering drive with care warning signs comes on and my steering wheel is very hard to turn wont allow me to turn all the way left or right so i basically get stuck on the streets intersections parking lots steering wheel is stiffthe warning sign would come off every time i would hit a bumpbut now its so hard and stiff to turn i have to use full force just to make a turn. I take it in an d they said they cannot figure out why very frustrated and very scary.

On cloudless days when the sun is about 30 degrees or lower in the sky the automatic headlights turn on and the vehicle dims the instrument panel. It is too bright outside to drive without sunglasses and almost impossible to see the dimmed gauges. My other vehicles with automatic headlights do not turn on when it is so bright outside.

Auto start does not work. It keeps giving me a check engine light when i try to start the car with the remote. I took it to auto zone to get a diagnostics test. The code came back with p305f dtc definition.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. When the contact attempted to shift from park into drive while on an incline, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact had to constantly wait to ensure that the gear properly changed over. Bob bell chevrolet (1 kane st, baltimore, md 21224, (443) 407-1778) inspected the vehicle, but was unable to replicate and diagnose the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle shut off intermittently and there was a progressing false start failure. The vehicle was taken to cox chevrolet (2900 cortez rd w, bradenton, fl 34207, (941) 749-2699) to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure was not determined. The vehicle was not being driven frequently due to the risk of the gear not shifting and the vehicle intermittently stalling. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was not available.

My check engine light came on, i took it to the shop and replaced a solenoid, problem is still there. Now my car dies on me and when i push on the gas it hesitates. My car has under 75000 miles on it. I've already replaced both wheel bearings.my a/c doesn't want to come on at times. My radio will come on with no key in the ignition,

Hendrick chevrolet norfolk virginia dealer service found gm history code dtc u0121 for this failure.my 2014 chevrolet malibu suddenly and fully ceased operating while stopping at a traffic red light in downtown norfolk va; even lost all electrical including the emergency / hazard light not operating. The car went completely dead while taking foot off of brake and pressing on gas pedal after traffic light turned green; all dashboard displays went dark. It took 3 attempts to re-start the car over a period of 11 minutes (paused for some time after 2nd try). Very dangerous for my wife who was driving during this incident! we then brought this car to hendrick chevrolet norfolk service dept. Who found code dtc u0121 indicating "loss of communication with the ebcm" on our car computer history for oct. 27 2014 corresponding to the date and time of this incident. This dealer informed that they have recently seen one additional problem of this same type for another owner of 2014 chevrolet malibu, who just happens to be the service manager at this dealership hendrick chevrolet norfolk virginia. This dealer service visit is documented on their invoice no. [xxx]1 dated 10/27/2014. My wife and i are now extremely concerned about the safety of this car which has the chevrolet stop-start engine technology. The dealer advised that they have no fix for this at this time and that i should directly report it to chevrolet / gm which i have now also done. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle decelerated. The failure occurred whenever the contact attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the timing chain needed to be replaced. The contact drove the vehicle to autonation (7769 grapevine highway, fort worth, tx 76180, (817) 485-0400) where it was diagnosed that a new computer needed to be installed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 65,000.

The check engine light won't go off and there's only 78000 miles. The auto stop isn't working. The tracking light won't go of and the abs light wont go off

My blower stopped working.i replaced the blower motor and resistor and noticed it had already been replaced.i bought the car brand new, so i'm guessing they caught a recall before they sold to me.after i replaced the blower motor and resistor, it worked for a couple months, and then stopped again.i've noticed people complaining of similar issues in online forums and am wondering if it's covered under some sort of recall or something.please help.

While the vehicle is moving and someone is in the passenger seat, the entire instrument cluster, all gauges and the radio goes black, except for the middle screen which then flashed "service air bag system, service tire pressure monitoring system, service passenger monitoring system."i have no idea how fast i am going or anything else to do with the vehicle, however there is no interruption of power or any affect to the engine. If the passenger lifts themselves off the seat, the system then resets and everything runs perfectly. This does not happen every time someone is in the seat. Sometimes it happens alot, and sometimes it doesn't happen for days. I have taken it to the dealer on several occasions, i have 6 pages or error codes showing a loss in communication. I believe that there is possibly something loose or that a sensor is going bad, however, the dealer is unable to locate this problem.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While driving approximately 20 mph, the power seized. The vehicle was able to restart after several attempts. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake booster and pcm wiring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 17,065. The vin was not included.

The car ran well but not for long, after like 21/2 years the battery had some issues. The car did not start at all. I ended buying a new one, even though the old one could be charged. Like 9 months ago same situation battery not good. As if no electricity is throughout the system, bought a second battery. In 2 occasions the car did start properly. Two weeks ago driving, the car stopped at a traffic light because it just turned off for no reason! driving again the next week it stopped in the middle of the road. I had to pay for a tow truck.the car has not started properly but it then shuts down when i get it started, driving in my parking lot. I've had to push it back to my parking spot. At the end this car has left me in the road a lot of times.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. After fueling the vehicle, the contact started the engine and the gear shifter moved, but the gear indicator letters did not illuminate and the vehicle did not engage in gear. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealer (jimmy gray chevrolet in south haven, mississippi) where it was diagnosed that the tcm caused the gears to go into default mode, which caused the vehicle to lose acceleration. According to the dealer, the vehicle was repaired; however, when the accelerator pedal was depressed the vehicle jerked violently. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and case number: 83794508813 was filed. The vin was invalid. The approximate failure mileage was 49,780.

Auto/stop is having issues. When in gauged it stalls the car out and will not allow it to turn back over. I have been in traffic at a stop light several times when this has happened and almost got into an accident because of it. Also i am having an issue with my rpms jumping and the car losing power. I have replaced both the intake and the exhaust solenoid and still lose power.

The check engine light came on and vehicle was taken to dealership to get a diagnostic of the problem.turns out the code is p0014 a diagnostic trouble code (dtc) for "camshaft position b - timing over-advanced or system performance (bank 1)".i was informed on september 7, 2019 at the dealership that the part was on back order but i needed to pay for the part and once the part came in and to not drive the vehicle until it is repaired.also, i would be informed and then i would come in and pay the labor fees.i've called chevrolet numerous times and have been told the part is still on back order nationwide with no estimated timeframe of when the part will come in.they stated it could be about 1 month.i started doing some research and found the 2013 model of the chevrolet malibu had a recall for this same reason.if the part is completely out nationwide for chevrolet malibu's, there is a huge problem.please help me find a way to get my car repaired.

Car turns off the engine light is on and found out the rocker arm solenoid valve is not working i'm afraid to drive the car i don't know what to do i have not had the car not even one year. I'm afraid to drive the car for it to turn off in the highway luckily it was on the street when the car just turned off

My auto stop and start has not worked in 6 months and now the stabilitrak light comes on and my car stalls as i am driving so many parts have been changed and now no one knows what to do its been in three different shops

Service power steering light illuminated along with anti lock brakes (abs) and service vehicle soon light illuminated. After all three lights illuminated and appeared on center dash console, the chevrolet malibu began to jerk and stall aggressively and violently. Then the power steering was disabled and no.power to the car. The car power shutoff and car came to a complete stop. Tried to restart car but car does not turn on but car was electrical power, radio turns on and other electrical devices work fine. 15 minutes later the car turns on normally but once put into drive the car jerks and stalls then powers off completely.

Actuator left and right sides, steering something was diagnosed by pep boys, winsheild wiper issues, brake problems, engine overheating and requires coolant several times a year. Some issues still occurring, some problems where fixed by rick hendricks chevrolet in the month of december 2017.

The abs light showed on the message center when i started my car to leave for work on a monday morning so i took my car to green chevrolet in deridder la.the mechanic looked at the car and said the sensor was bad so they ordered another.after replacing it the light did not go off so they scheduled another appointment to check into the problem again. I took the car backand the mechanic said it was a sensor and would be close to $ 400 to replace it.i paid $200 the first time.so i called gm to ask about the recall that was in place on the same year, make and model as my car.i was told that while the recall was active, it did not include my car because it came from a different plant.so gm worked with the repair shop to lower the cost for the second repair.i paid $115.that as in february2017.the mechanic at the service center said that they have seen this part being replaced several times and that it needed to be recalled.inapril 2017 i was on my way to missouri for a funeral and my abs light came on again.i called the service center and was told to bring my car in when i returned home.i called gm again to complain that it was on again. I took my car back into the shop and was told that it was the same problem but a different wheel.again the mechanic said that the part needed to be recalled.so now i have to schedule an appointment to have the sensor replaced and pay more money.i am writing to ask why the part has not been recalled for all 2014 chevrolet malibus.i am payingfor a problem that a recall has been issued on while othersowners are not.my car has 47,000 miles . It is my primary vehicle.how many times am i going to have this problem?please expand the recall to include more vehicles.obviously it is not happening to cars from just one area.thank you

I've been having issue with my car slowly but surely. First my solenoid rocket went bad after a 1yr of purchasing the car that came with 40,000 miles. A year after that i was running errands one day, pulled out of a strip mall and my car started lightly shaking for a minute til it came to a stop and wouldn't start. Ive called my insurance provider for road assistance and gas, thinking i was low on gas than normal that could be the problem. I've received gas then proceeded to starting my ignition 3 to 5 times, it never crank and ultimately the key stop switching and i could only turn the key to on position not start. Displaying on my dash the message steering/power drive with care! gotten my car towed to my personal mechanic, he told me my fuel pumps were bad because of substantial amount of water found in the tank system, that i needed to purchase two fuel pumps and 4 starters for him to complete the job. No longer than 5 til 6 months after completion of the last repair im now experiencing problems when starting my vehicle my engine light came on, again a message on my dash displaying steering/power drive with care! once i shifted my gear in drive while my foot still on the brakes, the light of the gear switches kept jumping back and forth rapidly as if the gears were being shifted manual and the car moved liked it was responding to the rapid gear changing as well lucky i had my foot on the brakes during that incident. While driving my car seemed to switched gear, in mid drive on an express way which caused the car to slow down instantly as if i pumped the brakes. That happened for 30 secs or less then it responded back to the initial shift it was originally in on its own. At times my car moves and jerks forward when i shift my car in reverse. Still ongoing every so often my car moves and jerks forwardmultiple times while shifting into gear til this day.

Its a common problem i have seen that happened to me 2 months after buying this car. The rear wheel bearing and hub assembly in both wheels have gone bad and it cause the brake light and abs light to come and repairs cost over 700 dollars. This problem is all over the internet and happens typically around50,000 to 60,000 miles. I am not happy at all seeing as this is my first big car purchase and first chevy purchase. If this isnt covered by recall soon or by chevy then this will be the last and only time i ever get a chevy andits sad because i actually work for a dealership and still got screwed. Problem started when i was driving home from work and was set on cruise control at 70 mph when all of a sudden the brake and abs light came on so i had our mechanic check it out and thats what was the problem

On 1/2/2019 i was driving in my car and two warning messages suddenly popped up on my console warning about the stability control and abs systems. There is a sensor that reads a "speed ring" on the rear of the wheel hubs. It seems chevy cars are known to have this ring crack and sections break off. When this happens the sensor can no longer read it and your stability control and abs systems will immediately stop working. The only way to resolve this problem is to replace the entire hub. Not only is this a serious safety issue but a considerable design flaw. You should only ever have to replace a hub if the bearing wear out because it is a very expensive repair. The other rear hub on my car is showing cracks in this ring and will need to be replaced as well. Chevy is fully aware of this issue. I tried to contact chevy about this on jan 5 and got a call from them jan 14 from a very rude and condescending person who was more concerned that i didnt pay chevy to repair the problem instead of the seriousness of the safety issue. Chevy needs to cover the cost of these repairs for me and everyone affected and needs to do a recall.

Since i have purchased this vehicle i have had issue after issue with trim, abs, stability track, heating system, transmission, and wheel bearings.i have had the stability track fixed twice, transmission was leaking (covered under a recall). Wheel bearings in rear both sides have been replaced before 80000 miles.wiring harness to wheels, the dealer ship had to splice ( i still cant see how wiring harness is not a covered component.for a manufacture based out of a state that has snow, and to provide a vehicle that has a stability sensor that gets dirty because of salt that will error is beyond my comprehension.same for the default wheel bearings onewinter in michigan and they had to be replaced (also not a covered feature). Trim that blows off on the express way.i lost my window trim and the front black cover.funny how the 2015 models have a screw in them but nothing for us poor 2014 owners that had an issue.i can purchase a new one at 60.00 (really its plastic).abs comes on every time i have an issue with the stability track, which is every winter it gets dirty.engine light on now so i cant auto start the car, more than likely that will be caused by the glamorous aux battery that was engineered for the lovey auto stop feature that i have no control over.have appointment with dealership to be ripped off some more.

Check engine light on and check stabilizertrak and reduced engine speed diagnostic test says misfire and vvt sensorsreplaced everything still on car lost all speed and power on highway.

On several occasions starting a month ago my car when stopped shuts completely off when i disengage auto stop, and then it stalls

Stabilitrack, abs, and braking assist deactivation and or reduction in function caused by premature failure of wheel hub assembly. Results in less control or loss of control in adverse weather conditions or under hard brake application or emergency maneuvers. Chevrolet has issued a service bulliten to direct their dealers in fixing this but only under warantee, showing they are aware of the problem yet took no action to assist consumers experiencing this issue.

On march 30th, my abs lights came on my vehicle.i took my car to the dealership. I was told not to drive the vehicle. My car was serviced for the wheel bearings and abs brake system $1085.after picking up my vehicle, i received a diagnostic report from onstar stating that my vehicle still had brake and abs problems.i picked up the car from the dealership.two days later while driving 40 mph my brakes went out completely out and i crashed into a van.

I have noticed that my car cuts off frequently at stop lights also my car accelerates slow when entering onto highway... I was in a car accident 7/18/16 in which my airbags on steering wheel partiallu deployed while the others did not in result leaving me with a fractured finger.

The vehicle has a auto/stop feature which is extremely faulty. The feature is supposed to keep the vehicle's electronics running while the engine shuts off after certain criteria before stopping is met. However, the auto/stop feature on my car when activated causes the system to completely shut off and all electronics go black upon starting back up. The check engine light has also come on because of this issue. After researching, there is no way i can disable the feature and there is no way to really fix the issue. My concern is that something electrical could happen and the car could be ruined as a result.

Service engine signal won't come off and my car won't cut off

Stabilitrak stability control system, anti lock brakes and wheel bearing.2nd time i have had these lights come on, driving and tracking control kicked in and then the lights all appear.i paid to have it fixed, and they spliced into the wire, not covered under warranty according to care.yet it is part of wiring harness.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While operating the vehicle, the abs and check engine sensor indicators illuminated and the "service stabilitrac" message displayed. In addition, while depressing the brake pedal to slow down, the vehicle would skid and slide before stopping, which caused the stopping distance to increase. The cause of the failures was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer (rod hatfield chevrolet in lexington, ky) were notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 86,000. *lnupdated 7/25/18

While driving over 65 mph on the expressway, my vehicle began to vibrate heavily and then stopped accelerating. The engine cut off (auto start/ stop feature) and after a few seconds, came back on. I was able to get over to the shoulder, but the vehicle would not go over 10 mph. The car had to be towed to the dealership.

While driving appx 70 mph on the freeway a "service stabiltrack, reduced engine performance" message came on. Immediately the car began a rapid deceleration until it came to a complete stop. Luckily we were barely able to safely move across 3 lanes of 70 mph traffic & onto the shoulder where we became stranded. After waiting about 10 min we were able to start the car and slowly make it about a mile to a freeway exit where the same event repeated itself except this time the car would not restart.this is the 2nd time we have experienced the same problem. A chevy dealer had claimed to fix the problem about 3 weeks ago. We have been very fortunate to avoid an accident as the situation was similar to slamming on the brakes in the middle of the freeway and both occurrences resulted in us being at a dead stop in the middle of a road needing to push the vehicle to safety.

As soon as car is turned on, a/c will not blow when i turn the knob and no matter what buttons i push. Not sure why it decides to do this sometimes but not every time. I have seen this as an official recall, but it says my vin shouldn't be effected. This is a recurring issue that happens at random.

We purchased this vehicle as for safety and convenience, we are student and full time workers. We share one care and because of that we took care of the car like recommended. Since october, we have been isolated, depended on uber and lyft because of gm not having the part for the vehicle. We searched everywhere, we called gm and filed a complaint, nothing was done. We paid to get the diagnosis done and said we need the oil control valve and part number 12633613. No one has it and everyone is looking for the same part. There is an issue there and gm should be held responsible. We're still paying for the vehicle. The incident had while the vehicle was in motion, as i was driving to work, i heard a loud pop and lucky i was to my job 21880 state road 7, boca raton fl 33064. I parked the vehicle and went out to check, oil leaked everywhere leaving a trail behind. Called my insurance for road side assistance. We were able to purchase the off market brand which didn't last even a month! now we stuck. Thank you chevy,

Just like every other complaint for this model year - abs/brake sils come on w/routine driving @40 mph off highway and then service warnings about stabilitrak and brake systemscome on;this happened in february where the dealership claimed it was a cracked wheel hub (owned less than 1 year and not covered) and said it needed replacing.replaced at ~$600.afterwards, brakes were real shaky (whole steering column shakes) when braking over 55mph - dealership said it couldn't possibly be related to replacing the wheel hub. Now, three months later, it's happening again - this time @30mph getting on highway on-ramphave to take car in, pay diagnostic and then repair costs.chevrolet knows [xxx] well what's going wrong with their design flaw (speed ring wear/malfunction) and needs to be redesigning/replacing system components.parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The driver was able to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road and waited a minute before restarting the vehicle. The vehicle was restarted, but hesitated to drive. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence and then taken to an independent mechanic the following day. The mechanic diagnosed that the transmission system and control valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 144,000.

My car cuts off at lights . These problems are in the drive shaft . The vvt thing.

Ince i have purchased this vehicle i have had issue after issue with trim, abs, stability track, heating system, transmission, and wheel bearings. I have had the stability track fixed twice, transmission was leaking (covered under a recall). Wheel bearings in rear both sides have been replaced before 80000 miles. Wiring harness to wheels, the dealer ship had to splice ( i still cant see how wiring harness is not a covered component. For a manufacture based out of a state that has snow, and to provide a vehicle that has a stability sensor that gets dirty because of salt that will error is beyond my comprehension. Same for the default wheel bearings one winter in michigan and they had to be replaced (also not a covered feature). Trim that blows off on the express way. I lost my window trim and the front black cover. Funny how the 2015 models have a screw in them but nothing for us poor 2014 owners that had an issue. I can purchase a new one at 60.00 (really its plastic). Abs comes on every time i have an issue with the stability track, which is every winter it gets dirty. Engine light on now so i cant auto start the car, more than likely that will be caused by the glamorous aux battery that was engineered for the lovey auto stop feature that i have no control over. Have appointment with dealership to be ripped off some more....appt showed a p011 code, second time in shop to have it fixed.update:months later, abs on the driverside hub is now out. Yes you guessed it the p011 engine code is back.(third time). Fixed twice at the shop. When is someone going to make gm wake up and fix these issues.it just like my key issue with my 2004 impala .car stalls boggs down at 70 mph.

The vehicle has sudden loss of power due to the failure of the intake rocker arm vvt oil control valve. Gm has halted production on this part with no viable solution or replacement option. Gm p#12633613. This issue has happened multiple times in the past 6 months

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle. The contact also noted that the vehicle experienced the failure for approximately six months. The vehicle was taken to coughlin chevrolet of pataskala, 9000 e broad st sw, pataskala, oh 43062, where it was determined that the rocker arm solenoid valve was defective and needed replacement however, the parts were not available to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.the approximate failure mileage was 83,000. *dt

Consumer is also seeking reimbursement for out of pocket costs related to repairs. *ldthe consumer stated the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time completing the recall repair. The manufacturer advised the part necessary to repair the vehicle was unavailable. The consumer had the vehicle repaired with aftermarket equipment as suggested by the manufacturer. The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate and the engine rpm's increased. In addition, the vehicle jerked violently. The vehicle was stopped and failed to reverse. The vehicle was restated and jerked into gear. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 21,000.

Engine code p16d0 causing a valve that controls air to oil intake for the motor is stuck open causing in accurate oil pressure. This happens when in motion. To continue to drive would most likely cause extreme engine failure and improper gas mileage. After checking the code and replacing the "affected" parts, the light is still not cleared as it creates more issues within the motor. The dealer is not able to identify the issue and is charging an absurd amount of money just to attempt to fix the issue with out any guarantees. There are also an abundance of similar situations and it all occurs once these vehicles get to 100,000 miles. This is a serious issue and i believe the manufacture should correct such an issue as multiple people have been experiancing the issue.

The engine light is on and at times the car loses power! trying to get parts since october 2019 was told no one is contracted to make the part and gm has not been helpful !!

There is a grinding noise coming from the engine compartment. I do believe there are other complaints on this same issue.

While driving various speeds, there was an abnormal noise coming from the rear passenger wheel. The vehicle was taken to radley chevrolet (3670 jefferson davis hwy, fredericksburg, va 22408) where it was diagnosed that the hub bearing failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred a month later. In addition, the vehicle failed to accelerate and the automatic transmission worked independently. The contact mentioned that the gear shifter was shifting independently. The vehicle was taken back to radley chevrolet where the cause of the failure was undetermined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle shutter, vibrate and the check engine light would display. On 11/19/19, i was driving on a side street (25 mph) when the reduced engine power light came on in my 2014 chevy malibu. The car is driveable, but at speeds higher than 35 mph, the reduced power is noticeable.i immediately brought it to the dealership (matthews hargreaves chevrolet in royal oak, mi) for repair. They identified the problem as being the rocker arm solenoid valve, but they were unable to fix it because gm is not currently making the part and it is unavailable through aftermarket. For nearly a month, i have been stuck with a car that is only barely usable. On colder days, my car has a more difficult time with even handling low speeds and i'm terrified that it's going to become completely inoperable before this is fixed.the dealership i took it to currently has 6 vehicles with the same problem, but are in non-driveable condition. The dealer has also informed me that over 50 cars around the country are having the same problem. Gm has been contacted about the problem, but they have refused to do anything to help despite being aware that this is a known issue.

The vehicle was taken to kingdom chevrolet (6603 s western ave, chicago, il 60636, (877) 921-8488) where it was diagnosed that an unknown sensor needed to be replaced. The codes were cleared and the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 84,652.

While driving the vehicle it made a noise then sounded like a motorcycle. The vehicle couldn't maintain speed of more than 18 mph. Limped the vehicle a few miles home and it was leaking engine oil onto the ground. There is oil puddled up between the transmission and engine area.

Check engine light came on,stayed on,took car to be diagnosed, rocker arm solenoid valve defect, car has only over 55000 miles on it,recommend not to drive to avoid further damage, part not available anywhere, car been parked since late november.car was driven on freeway when check engine light came on,not knowing if the car was going to make it without causing damage to engine or stall before we could get to a mechanic shop.

While driving my check engine light came on. Plugged it in to see what codes it was readingboth o2 sensor and well as as cam shaft, check engine litlght is still on sensing the same codes. Went to 2 different garages and they are unable to find the issue. I'm unable to get my car inspected due to the issue.

Have been needing a repair but the part has been unavailable for months. We need the oil control valve and part number 12633613. Gm does not know when the part willbe available, so no way for the car to be fixed.

I just purchased a 2014 malibu on 04- 22 for my daughter. Due to my daughter telling me that the brakes felt mushy in her car i decided to test drive it myself. While driving down my street at approx. 25mph with the brake slightly depressed, the transmission shifted unexpectedly and the engine seem to rev up. This made the vehicle that much harder to control and stop. This has to be looked into a.s.a.p. I do not want my daughter to continue driving this vehicle until there is a solution. Going to take this vehicle back to the dealership first thing monday.

The contact owns a 2015 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would stall. The contact was relating the failure to an issue with the bolts in the intake manifold being loosened which allowed air to get into the engine. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with the spark plugs and the trunk battery needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

For a few years after purchasing my vehicle i noticed sometimes it would stutter or throttle and surge while driving, but every time i took it to the dealer they were "unable to duplicate" the problem. Now the source of the problem i believe is error code p16d0, but there is no recall on this part that is mentioned in this code. General motors should compensate vehicle purchasers who have run into this issue.

I have been waiting on the intake rocker arm control valve since december 2019. Apparently gm has discontinued this part for malibus and impalas. They are saying it is on back order. I am still paying on my vehicle and this should be apart of a recall. There is thousands of us that is waiting on this part and this is so unfair. I am terrified that something else is going to happen to my engine if this is not fixed soon.

Found loose intake manifold bolts. Causing intermittent code p0171 fuel trim lean.

When i stop at a stop sign or red light, my car go into auto stop. When i press on the gas to go, the car shut off.after months of this i just understood what was really going on.no check engine light is on. This is hard to detect. Not even the dealership found this out. My auto sound guy explained this to me now i can explain this to the dealership . This should be a recall . This is dangerous.why did chevrolet put this option in cars.

The engine light came on. Took it to my mechanic. He told me that the valve rocker arm oil control is bad. He told me i am the 9th in the que just from lansing area and the part is back ordered since august 2019. He orderedthe part from shaheen chevrolet. I called the gm help line. Initially they were very helpful but later they called me and said they can't do any thing. The car is standing outside on the road and i am paying the insurance and just paid the registration. The defective part numbers are 12633613 and 12634467 (gasket + part). Gm case number is 9-5813783154. The person who took my call was thanna and the date i called was 2/13/2020.

Came to a stop at a stop light auto stop came on. When let off the brake the auto start did not start. It tried to then completely shut off. Had to put car in park and turn the key to get it to start. I was in right lane trying to turn. The first time it happened it would not start with turning the key until the second time turning the key. This happened 5 times on my way home. Was almost rear ended. While it would not start at 2 stops cars thought i was going to move and i couldn't. Auto stop and start was coming on at almost every stop this morning and my husband made a comment about how that was strange and it should not do it. Yesterday we just replaced the intake and exhaust seanoid.

The check engine light came on and the code reader showed that the variable timing solenoid needs to be replaced. After searching for a replacement part, i keep getting told that this make/model consistently has this problem. The engine light comes on, the car loses power and seems to have a tugging feel when driving especially when accelerating. This happens both with in town driving and freeway driving. Happens at any speed.

The check engine light won't go off and there's only 78000 miles. The auto stop isn't working. The tracking light won't go of and the abs light wont go off

Tamara recall check engine turn on and when eco turns on my radio turns off

The auto stop/start fail two time the check engine light came on took it in two time to get it fixed .when driving it will down shift when i take my foot of the gas.

As i was driving and come to a stop light, my vehicle cut off and once i let offthe brake, to go, the car started back without me doing anything.when i was at the drive thru window, my foot was on the brake and i wasstill in drive mode, the car cut off, and when i let of the brake slightlythe vehicle started all by itself.both incidents happened a week apart.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu.the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated. The check engine warning light was illuminated. Reymore chevrolet (746 n main st, central square, ny 13036, (315)668-2673) was contacted and an appointment was scheduled to have the vehicle diagnosed. The contact was informed that the vvp rocker oil solenoid ceased and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 100,000.

I been trying to order part 916806 this i've been needing it for a while a variable valve timing solenoid i feel like i been ripped off because no one been able to get this part has this part been replace as another part what am i to do i need my car. I can't get my admission done to get my plates

I purchased my chevy malibu brand new all maintenance has been done as recommended my the dealership now part #12633613 has went out and i have been told by the dealership and general motors that the part is not available for purchase meanwhile i am left with a car that can not be drove

Drivability issues due to intake rocker arm oil control valve. Vehicle occasionally surges while driving and misfires due to a faulty rocker arm assembly currently not produced by gm.

I have been having problems with my 14 malibu every since i bought it certified pre-owned from the dealer. The car rpm will get stuck around 3000 if i'm cruising and press the brakes to decelerate which has caused me several time to have to pull to the side of off the road so that i don't hit anything. In order to make it stop i have to press brakes then press the gas to make the rpm act right. It has always had a bad jerk when i am driving and the car rpm is near or at a steady 2000 it would jerk until i speed up or slow down. I've taken the car to the shop several times and paid for diagnostic and diagnostic and still there was no good new all because they couldn't make the issue reoccur. My first experience with these issues was about a month after buying the car and has happened every since with my last occurrence being 08/13/2017. I am about ready to give up on chevy and change makes because they seem to not want to help at all with the issues i'm having.

Vehicle has had failed oil arm rocker valve (part# 12633613) since october 2019.gm has advised they do not know when this part will be available, and has no other resolution to provide except to wait and that they are sorry for inconvenience.check engine light illuminated means it will not pass emissions testing in ct (or state inspections in a lot of other states).car is not usable because of this, some power loss issues being experienced at highway speeds.gm has not offered any resolution other than $2500 off a new gm vehicle.will not assist further and state that there is no eta for replacement part.car not serviceable and gm will not resolve.

The engine variable timing oil control valve is malfunctioning as i have seen with thousands of others on the internet. Gm is no longer making the part. I was driving my car on a highway and the check engine light came on. The car drove normally, but when i attempted to accelerate to merge onto another highway, the car seemingly stopped accelerating even with my foot on the gas. The car was stuck with no propulsion for a few seconds before i could accelerate again. The car now only slowly accelerates, or dies if i try to accelerate quickly. My fuel economy has been worse and according to reports the emissions of the car are worse. No action is being taken by gm to fix this issue.

On 7/5/20 the vehicle was in motion going down the highway and the high pressure fuel pump mounted on the engine broke lose, dropped into the engine and tore apart the engine. Was towed and fixed by closest gm dealership (deery brothers, west burlington, ia). There is a recall for a bad weld on the high pressure fuel pump for 2016-2018 malibu's resulting in the exact issue i had on my 2014. The dealership said gm, chevrolet and the dealership (which is a gm certified dealership where i bought the car certified pre-owned in 2018) said they all bared no responsibility for the issue. I paid $3,128 for the repair on 7/17/20. Two days after bringing my car home, there is an oil leak that was never there before. The dealership says this is a hole in the oil pan, and again is my responsibility to pay for in full to be fixed. I received a letter from chevrolet on 7/16/20 saying there is a recall for my vin # for an oil pressure valve. Incorrect oil pressure could have caused the high pressure fuel pump to explode causing the issue on 7/9/20. I do not believe that between the two recalls issued by chevrolet for my car model i should be responsible for the full weight of the repairs on a car that was purchased certified pre-owned with a warranty two years prior, not to mention i've had all regular services done in a timely matter at the same dealership, that has under 90,000 miles and is only six years old. There is no reason for such extensive engine damage to such a new car with no previous issues.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While driving 30-40 mph, the vehicle hesitated and stalled and restarted independently. The check engine warning light was illuminated.the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed the rocker arm control oil valve needed to be replaced.the vehicle was then taken to white-allen chevrolet parts (442 n main st, dayton, oh 45405 (937) 222-3701) where it was also diagnosed that the rocker arm control oil valve needed to be replaced however, the parts were on back order. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 46,000.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated that the engine was shaking, and the vehicle stalled while driving at an undisclosed speed, with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and suggested that the contact file a complaint with the nhtsa. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000.

The autostop feature has a malfunction when the car comes to a stop on down side of a hill causing the engine to shut completely off for up to 15 to 20 minutes before it cranks back up again. When this happens the steering wheel locks up and the car is able to switch gears and lights come on int he dash as normal. The check engine light appears while its in this dead state and once it cranks up as normal the light goes off. Local dealerships arent able to pinpoint the exact issue and the car doesnt keep a record of the check engine code. A new battery was given once but that disnt last long before the auto stop feature malfunctioned again

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated that while the vehicle parked, there was an abnormal noise coming from the vehicle and suddenly engulfed into flames. The fire department extinguished the fire. A police report was filed.the fire department determined that the fire started from the engine. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage was 2,000.

My wife was doing 70 down one of our busier country roads in michigan and the check engine light came on followed by an engine power reduced message causing the car to decelerate down to 30mph causing cars to swerve and go around us. She could have been rear ended and extremely hurt becuase of this.

Part number 12633613 is faulty and gm doesn't have a replacement part available. Car has been sitting for the last 4 months.

Chevrolet did a terrible job creating a engine then discontinuingparts to it. The rocker arm oil control valve is a known failure point on this vehicle and they discontinued it.

This has happened twice now, once for my wife and the second time i was driving. Both incidents happened while in motion on the highway and the vehicle display showed reduced engine power and the vehicle de-rated and slowed automatically on the highway. The check engine light displayed and after connecting a code reader to the obd and code p2138 was logged which is potentially a faulty throttle position sensor/ foot gas pedal. I replaced the throttle position sensor cleared the stored code and a couple weeks later the vehicle again went into limp mode and de-rated on highway. The check engine light came on and the same code p2138 was logged indicating voltage difference between app sensor 1 and app sensor 2 of the throttle positioning sensor. After further research on line i found that a gm service bulletin was issued for potential moisture intrusion of the connectors from the throttle position sensor to the ecm. (see attached) it seems like my vehicle is experiencing moisture in the connectors as both incidents happened within minutes of taking the vehicle through an automatic car wash. In my opinion this is a safety concern for this model vehicle to de-rate and slow down suddenly at highway speeds with cars following behind and has been a known issue by gm and should have a recall issued.

Request #282669 complaint15 april, 2020tracking # 11321107the following complaint references my 2014 chevy malibu, ecotec 2.5l dohc engine, vin #[xxx].purchased 9/15/2014 from george hahas chevrolet in wildwood, fl.the vehicle is currently under extended warranty with ~23,300 miles on it.in october 2019, the vehicle began running rough at 20-25 miles per hour (odometer: ~21,000) and the vehicle engine light turned on.the engine gas mileage also decreased.i took it in for repair and was told that the rocker arm valve needed to be replaced (under warranty).in addition, the engine would need to be cleaned due to the excessive carbon build up due to the malfunctioning part.this clean-up was not under warranty, even though it was caused by a defective warranted part.i was told it was safe to drive the car until the engine light began to flash.at that point i was to pull to the side of the road and have the vehicle towed as it would no longer be drivable.this repair was attempted during the gm worker strike and the part was not available.after the strike, i was informed that the part was not available from gm or any aftermarket manufacturer.after waiting until the end of the year, i again contacted nahas chevrolet and was told that the part was not available, and gm had no plans to produce it.further, a warranted part was not available from anymanufacturer.i was also informed that over 20 vehicles at this single dealership needed this same part. On march 2, 2020 i contacted gm consumer services (case # 9-5847264087).they informed me that they were informed that gm had no plans to make this part and knew of no aftermarket manufacturer who could supply a warranted part.they told me of three unwarranted manufacturers, but if the part ever caused further damage to the vehicle, the repairs would not be under warranty.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated that while driving 20-25 mph, the vehicle hesitated with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to george nahas chevrolet (4135 fl-44, wildwood, fl 34785, (352) 504-4538) who informed them that the repair for the rocker arm valve was covered under warranty, however, the parts for the repair were unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the parts were no longer being manufactured. The contact was also informed that a third-party part was not covered under warranty. The manufacturer opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 21,000.*dt*tp

My car has been serviced on time every time in dealership and was in excellent shape. On 10th june 2014, my engine just stopped while i was driving on the highway with speed limit of 70 mph. It was extremely dangerous situation for me and any accident could have happened. Luckily i was able to move my car to right most lane before my vehicle completely stopped with indicators on. Then an officer helped me push the car to curbside later. When the engine stopped workingmy car was at high speed 70 mph and there was very high risk of an accident. The mechanic at dealer told me that the number 4 vale has thrown a rod (basically piston has broken) inside the cylinder and engine is completely damaged. He said this should happen at 59,000 miles (my car mileage) . I found technical service bulletin about the issue and i firmly believe that because of the severity of the issue nhtsa should consider putting this under recall. Gm told me your car is out of warranty by 30 days and even if it was faulty part they will not cover it 100%. Because of faulty parts by gm, now i have to suffer an huge financial loss and bear the responsibility as gm does not care.

Actuator left and right sides, steering something was diagnosed by pep boys, winsheild wiper issues, brake problems, engine overheating and requires coolant several times a year. Some issues still occurring, some problems where fixed by rick hendricks chevrolet in the month of december 2017.

My vehicle shows the check engine light, the dealer made a check and found problems with the rocket arm valve part number 12633613 (engine variable timing oil control valve). That was in december 2019, they request the part to gm, and so far the part is unavailable. I tried to buy it through internet and friends in other states, and no auto parts have this part. This part is necessary because control the timing of the engine. My car can get ruin if i do not change that part. Gm is being irresponsable to have this important part of the car available.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated that while braking to a complete stop, the vehicle engaged into sleep mode. Once the contact released the brakes, the vehicle started to slowly reverse. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacture was notified and was advised that the vehicle was designed to function in the manner it did. The failure mileage was 500 and the current mileage was 2,000.

Engine light keeps coming on while driving or stationary.i had a diagnostics test done they said it is the rocker arm solenoid.they said there is a national back order and 1 of our local dealers had 6 cars waiting for this part at the time and had already been waiting for several months.this is obviously a manufacturing defect that gm should be doing a recall for.

Driving on interstate after work around 12 am & reduced engine power appears on screen, car slows down & i couldn't accelerate more than 10mph & had to keep pulling over to turn engine on & off. Terrifying! read other complaints about this just now & needs to be recalled asap before someone is injured or worse especially driving on a busy interstate/highway

My car has been in need a gm part for almost eight months. The part # is 12633613. I have spoken with chevy representatives over a dozen times. Despite discontinuing the engine that requires this part and the many complaints and people who can't operate their vehicles with this engine, chevy/general motors refuses to do a recall. The faulty part causes cars to jerk and shut off in the middle of the road. Before realizing the car wasn't fully operable, i was almost hit due to my inability to move forward. I have invested in chevy and i have taken great care of my car. One small solenoid rocker arm should not keep me from enjoying the vehicle i have purchased. Aside from the thousands of dollars loss from the car itself, i spent hundreds and thousands of dollars on transportation alternatives. I need some remedy in this case as chevy will not admit the part has been discontinued (although a representative did admit to this) despite their stated requirement of producing or making available comparable parts for at least 10 years. I need help and i hope chevy is held accountable for these willful consumer violations.

2014 malibu has the 2.5l ecotec engine equipped with start/stop technology when i stop/brake the engine only shut lest than 10% of time. Have had into the dealer two times for this they said all in spec. The malibu stops/starts so infrequently that it surprises me when it does shut off.

Takata recall. Started my malibu to run some errands and the stabilitrk light came on and it said reduced engine power. This is a 2014 malibu lt. After driving it , the stabilitrk light went off but the light for the reduced engine power is still on. The car is not running the way it should. I have it scheduled for a diagnostics. Seems this is an issue with gm. When driving the car had no power and this happened on the first start of the morning.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled with the service stabili-trac and reduced engine power warning messages displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they diagnosed the vehicle with a defective vvt (variable valve timing) sensor. The mechanic recommended that both vvt (variable valve timing) sensors be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The contact then took the vehicle to second independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with an engine misfire. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 107,000.

*dt

Driving 12/18 beltline east bound. Between south town exit and monona drive exit. Debis in road hit by truck lic#dg93483 that came up and hit the right front end passanger side of vechile. Cracked headline and front bumper dented as well as paint all scratched! called non emergency poile and they told me to fill out this form to report.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated that water leaked into the rear passenger tail light compartment. There were no warning indicators illuminated.the dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 85,000.

My passenger front air bag isn't working and my electrical to my emc isn't working and when battery is unhooked the interior lights stay on i've had several sensors to go bad.

On information panel i received a message that the blinker light was out i've changed the bulb an now no working headlights or taillight

According to the information i was given, this vehicle should have an average of 36 mpg for hwy.i drive 100 miles every day round trip and 98 miles of that is highway at posted speed of 60-65 mph. I am still getting only about 27.5 mpg almost a year later.i trade in a 2009 saturn aura that was getting almost 32 mpg after 100,000 miles.i've heard that if you disconnect the ecoassist it will help the mileage go up?my dealer told me this is not possible.i understand there are a lot of malibu owners out there that are also disappointed at this mpg.what can be done to get to at least 30 mpg?

Auto/stop is having issues. When in gauged it stalls the car out and will not allow it to turn back over. I have been in traffic at a stop light several times when this has happened and almost got into an accident because of it. Also i am having an issue with my rpms jumping and the car losing power. I have replaced both the intake and the exhaust solenoid and still lose power.

The check engine light won't go off and there's only 78000 miles. The auto stop isn't working. The tracking light won't go of and the abs light wont go off

The engine light is on and at times the car loses power! trying to get parts since october 2019 was told no one is contracted to make the part and gm has not been helpful !!

I bought the new malibu with only 3 miles on the odometer.the gas tank was filled up at the dealership but the gas gauge shows it's only 7/8 filled.my dealer has checked for recalls and bulletins and said they even checked it and find nothing wrong. I was told when i fill the tank to not leave the handle on auto fill but to hold the handle to fill it and that should help but it doesn't!

My car cuts off at lights . These problems are in the drive shaft . The vvt thing.

I had to slam on brakes would not brake and power cut off and cut back on

I purchased my chevy malibu brand new all maintenance has been done as recommended my the dealership now part #12633613 has went out and i have been told by the dealership and general motors that the part is not available for purchase meanwhile i am left with a car that can not be drove

While driving the vehicle it made a noise then sounded like a motorcycle. The vehicle couldn't maintain speed of more than 18 mph. Limped the vehicle a few miles home and it was leaking engine oil onto the ground. There is oil puddled up between the transmission and engine area.

I own a 2014 chevy malibu.it currently as of today (1/8/2020) is in its extended warranty.the part my vehicle needs to function again is a: intake rocker arm oil control valve, part# 12633613.this part is no longer in production by gm and according to them no one makes the part so they are unable to fix the vehicle.the only remedy they offer is to take the broken car as a trade in when i purchase a new vehicle from them.they refuse to offer any sort of refund or replacement.the car was manufactured in 2014.it's not an old car.

This car is stalling and surging. You go to leave the stopped position it hesitate or stalls. Dies like it's starved of fuel. Rpm raises up with doing anything like a loss of power. Codes p0010 p0011 p0002

The auto stop/start fail two time the check engine light came on took it in two time to get it fixed .when driving it will down shift when i take my foot of the gas.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle would sporadically lose power to accelerate. The vehicle would momentarily hesitate approximately two to three minutes and then resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 15,500.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While driving 45 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. The check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be upgraded. The vehicle was not repaired. On another occasion, when the brake pedal was depressed, there was an abnormal sound emitting from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure was unable to be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. When shifting gears, there was an abnormal sound emitting from the shifter. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician stated that the vehicle was operating as designed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 14,000.

Was driving at about 55 mph on a state road, engine light came on the car slowed down to about 30 mph in giving gas the engine ramped up but would not accelerate. Pulled over and stopped. Turned off the ignition waited a few minutes then turned the ignition on again. The car would not accelerate. Was able to get it to a dealer where it was diagnosed as needing transmission work. It is at the dealer now 12/13/19. The car has 92,000 miles on it bought it brand new in 2014.

This car allows you to shift to reverse, neutral, drive, etc. Without putting your foot on the break. You can shift to park while you are driving down the highway.

This car has the auto stop feature which cannot be disabled. When i'm stopped and the auto stop engages, the car will no longer automatically restart. I have to put it in park, wait up to a minute or two, sometimes more and then it will start.have talked to chevy dealer service, got no help. Went to 3 independent repair shops, ran codes but nothing showed up. One time i did get a check battery charge system warning. Battery is fairly new and checks out fine. A code came up to replace the valve timing solenoid which we did but still this autostop problem persists. I am afraid to drive this car because i could get rear ended in stop and go traffic, i get temporarily stranded at intersections and people behind me are not always understanding.. Called gm headquarters today- was told to take it to a dealership. I called a chevy dealership, they didn't have any idea what could be wrong. I can't afford to keep taking it in to shops and get no answers. One shop said they've seen several cars with this issue, they couldn't diagnose it.the car is dangerous because it stalls. I don't know what to do.

Have been needing a repair but the part has been unavailable for months. We need the oil control valve and part number 12633613. Gm does not know when the part willbe available, so no way for the car to be fixed.

Transmission occasionally shifts erratically, hard at times, hesitates and bucks .never had any vehicle in my life do this, even cars with known bad transmissions. The sudden downshifts cause the vehicle to suddenly propel forward, especially when cruising to slow down or while brake is depressed, causing an unsafe change in vehicle speed that requires sudden need to brake or increase brake pressure to avoid striking vehicle in front. Transmission also at times has an "engine miss" type jolt while at cruising speed on flat pavement 30-45mph that has at one time repeated for 3 minutes straight.. Majority of time transmission behaves normally and without incident and then suddenly goes nuts. Dealer did one powertrain software update that helped a little but with no codes or symptoms when they test-drive they can not find a problem.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While driving, the gear selector flashed, and the vehicle hesitated and stalled. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was driven to cox chevrolet (2900 cortex rd w, bradenton, fl 34207) where it was diagnosed that the transmission module failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was currently being repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000.

My wife was doing 70 down one of our busier country roads in michigan and the check engine light came on followed by an engine power reduced message causing the car to decelerate down to 30mph causing cars to swerve and go around us. She could have been rear ended and extremely hurt becuase of this.

Transmissionwont engaged after stop, rpm go low won t go up

My mother was driving the car on the highway doing 70 milescar lost power and wouldn't go over 35 miles on her way to work check engine light came on almost got hit by several cars that were doing 70 miles due to the car will only go 35 miles on the highway she immediately pulled over on the side of the highway i came and brought a bluetooth scan tool the scan tool came back with these two codes p0700 p0776 which were transmission codes and just like other similar complaints from the other comments my mom almost got rear-ended several times because of this and from what i've youtube and see on this site that seems to be a pretty common issue with those cars and their transmissions that definitely needs to be recalled my mother had to pay $4,000 to get her transmission rebuilt we bought the car brand new and it was shifting rough just like the other complaints were talking about on this site we went to the dealership they told us it was normal but that's what all of those cars do is shift rough i told them that didn't sound normal to me and if they could please change the transmission fluid they said it wasn't time yet the car only had 20,000 miles during that time framewe still argue with the guy he told us find will change the transmission fluid but i'm telling you it's normal we got our receipt back and all they did wasoil change never even touched the transmission we took it to a transmission shop they told us the transmission was shot and needed to be rebuilt the fluid was black the transmission shop told us it should have been read when the transmission went bad it had 60,000 miles on it then please do an investigation on the 2014 chevy malibu transmissions there is definitely an issue there that i believed could cause an accident especially on the highway

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While driving various speeds, there was an abnormal noise coming from the rear passenger wheel. The vehicle was taken to jack taylor toyota (3750 jefferson davis hwy, alexandria, va 22305), but the cause of the failure could not be determined or duplicated.

While the vehicle was stationary, the transmission malfunctioned. After shifting gears to either the reverse or drive positions, the vehicle would not accelerate. Langdale chevrolet in sylvester, georgia was contacted about the auto stop feature malfunctioning as well as the transmission. Prince chevrolet in albany, georgia was made aware of the issue, but was unable to determine why the cruise control, the auto stop feature, and the transmission had malfunctioned. Parker chevrolet in ashburn, georgia was made aware of the series of failures on may 8, 2017 and stated that the failures could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 10,785.updated 10/18/17*lj updated 10/5/18

Very jerky acceleration while driving at speed or trying to speed up, vehicle stutters at acceleration

This auto jerks while in cruise control, then while going 60 mph up a hill down shifts for more speed, then i reach the top of hill cruise stays in lower gear and picks up speed. Unsafe to drive.

Trans doesn'tshiftright.took to the dealerseveralmany times.theyblewme off. Now what do i do withthispos??almostcausedmeto wreck.is a dangerouscar in traffic .buyersbeware......

It's making a unknown sound

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated that when the gear lever was shifted from any selected gear, the engine revved and the transmission began to jerk without warning. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2.

Mechanic stated my transmission is going out. At 93,000 miles this should not occur. My car needs repair almost every month. Took to chevrolet dealership and was told that i had metal shavings in my transmission.then was called back stated i dont. Now another mechanic stated my transmission is going out

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated that the vehicle drastically reduced speed while on a major roadway and traveling over 45 mph. The accelerator pedal did not respond and the speed would not go past 10 mph. The failure recurred twice. The contact had to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road and turn off and restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer twice, but they were not able to replicate and diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 17,000.

1st incident when applying the brake the vehicle would do a extreme pull to the right.2nd incident 2/24/14 mile 2940 - transmission shuts down after exiting highway.

Driving down freeway about 70 mph when all of a sudden i hear a chime then engine seems to downshift but it actually reduced speed quickly. I look up at dash and see that it says, 'engine power is reduced'. I then notice to the left of dash that the engine pic is lit up. I put my hazard lights on and exit the freeway right away.what i would normally do is open up the owners manuel and find out a little more to what's going on. I just purchased the car and it didn't come with one. I decided to take side streets the rest of way home. When i got home i shut car off then started it up again and it still had the same message.

We have a 2014 chevy malibu 2.5l automatic transmission with 42310 miles on it and both the back hub (wheel bearing assembly's need to be replaced. It started making noises about 200 miles ago and it almost undrivable now. Had to have it towed do to feeling unsafe to drive. I've researched this problem and there are thousands of people who are experiencing this same problem and on top of the car payment i have to spend another 875 bucks to fix a problem i shouldn't be having. I've owned several cars and never had this issue unroll now and this was my first new car purchase and now my last with chevy.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 21,000.

Since we purchased 02/2016 chevy malibu the engine light has been on and off and the dealer has fixed the problem many times and still has the same problem .i noticed the gear is weak specially when i'm on the freeway

We have a family malibu, purchased brand new. My teenage daughter got out at one stop, and got in on the next stop. The back seatbelt on the driver side has freeze for no appearent reason, not allowing the seatbelt to come back out past a few inches. It is not folded, ect and is still nearly new. A truck did pull out in front of us in november 2017 while the family was in the car, we hit it going about 15 mph, but that was 8 months back and likely isn't related. (air bags didn't go off due to lower speed).

This auto jerks while in cruise control, then while going 60 mph up a hill down shifts for more speed, then i reach the top of hill cruise stays in lower gear and picks up speed. Unsafe to drive.

Braking before potential collision, especially smooth braking, reveals that the driver's seat belt retractor has an inherently and substantially unsafe design.the driver's seat belt has delayed and inconsistent locking, often not locking in braking or locking late. Even when it does lock earlier, it allows too much travel, i.e. 1/3 distance to wheel. Under moderate braking, before enough deceleration occurs to lock the belt, the driver can travel very far forward and it's hard to hold oneself back. Even when ready for that, the force needed is a distraction from what's happening on the road and makes it more difficult to steer.also, experts have said that being tense during a collision makes injuries worse or more likely.the complainant has tested this many times under straight braking on 25-45 mph roads with the seat as far back as is drivable and the wheel as far away as practical for a slightly below average size guy. Under moderate braking, the belt locked with my head 1 inch from the wheel. If a collision followed, my head would hit the steering wheel and the air bag would deploy at nearly point-blank range to head and chest.the passenger seat belt has an alternate mode activated by pulling the belt all the way out, which activates a retract-only ratchet so it will hold the passenger close to the seat until released. The driver's belt does not have that feature.suggest crash testing with braking from 70 to 40 mph just prior to collision rather than cruising into the barrier at steady 40. With the 2014 malibu's restraints, the dummy could easily be 1/3 to fully against the wheel at moment of collision.the person submitting this complaint does not feel at all safe while driving with this defect in the primary driver restraint system.this is a 3-year-old car that has not been in a collision, going by records and professional inspection.

The welds on the front cross-bar and the rear cross bar are separated between the seat and lower adjustment frame, this cause the drivers seat to lean toward the center console and rear of the vehicle. This in turn makes the seat toggle back and forth. Upon first examination i thought the welds had broken, but on closer examination it appears that the weld did not penetrate the metal far enough as the weld and bar were both intact, except for scaring on the tubing.this results in a major safety problem as the seat belt is attached to the seat.i see online that there have been many, many complaints about this same problem on chevy mailbu's 2004.

While someone is in my passenger seat, ally gages will go to 0, (including while driving) the seat warms will turn off, also my stereo shuts down. I get a notification saying "service tire monitoring system", "service thief deterrent system" also something about the airbags.

Whenever a passenger rides in the front seat all electrical components lose proper function.heating/air-conditioning does not work, multiple warning sensors go off, radio does not work, gas gauge does not work, speedometer does not work, blinkers do not work.

Vehicle was involved in a fatality crash during which the driver headrest including anchors came out of the seat back and was observed in the passenger floorboard. The vehicle was stationary (disabled - out of gas) partially in a moving lane of traffic on a highway at the time of the crash and struck by a moving vehicle.

I pulled to a stop at a stop sign. The car went into auto stop. As i try to navigate right the steering lock up on me. This made the car start climbing the side of the road.i tried to step on the brakes and the car accelerated and hit the wall.

1st incident when applying the brake the vehicle would do a extreme pull to the right.2nd incident 2/24/14 mile 2940 - transmission shuts down after exiting highway.

The car will not start and messages popped up on the dashboard stating battery saver assist, power steering care, stabilock control.

The auto stop/start fail two time the check engine light came on took it in two time to get it fixed .when driving it will down shift when i take my foot of the gas.

In 2016 i started experiencing issues with my cruise control working sometimes & sometimes not. After a year or so while driving my car abs light indicator light came on (oct.2017) after taken it to an authorized gm dealer it was found that my left rear wheel hub unit bearing broke, a little over a month later, the abs & the stability trac light came on. This time it was the right rear wheel hub unit bearing broke. It controls all that takes place with stopping, cruise control, skidding, breaking,etc.... Extremely expensive per tire & not safe! after quite a bit of research the malibu & impalas are well known for this issue.i was driving both times when this happened, i was traveling down an expressway(i-75)!

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While driving approximately 20 mph, the power seized. The vehicle was able to restart after several attempts. The approximate failure mileage was 17,065. The vin was not included.

The brakes felt low and then the low brake fluid warning light and also stability track alarm and the brake light on the other side lit up. I drove a few miles more and the alarms would sound every time i hit the brakes. The car had to be flat bedded back to the dealer. The truck driver looked for brake fluid level, there was no brake fluid at all. I was informed later that the brake fluid had all leaked out the rear caliper. This has not been resolved, car is still at dealer.

When auto stop kicks in my brakes on driver side start cluncking when i apply brakescar only has 89,345 miles on it 2014 malibu ls

I had to slam on brakes would not brake and power cut off and cut back on

On march 30th, my abs lights came on my vehicle.i took my car to the dealership. I was told not to drive the vehicle. My car was serviced for the wheel bearings and abs brake system $1085.after picking up my vehicle, i received a diagnostic report from onstar stating that my vehicle still had brake and abs problems.i picked up the car from the dealership.two days later while driving 40 mph my brakes went out completely out and i crashed into a van.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle was difficult to stop. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.

When trying to accelerate to the speed limit while driving on the highway, the car doesn't pick up speed as it should. Driver has to press down on the gas pedal to even get up to speed. And once car is up to speed on the highway, when trying to brake even with new brakes and rotors installed on july 27, 2019 the car tends to continue to accelerate even more instead of stopping. This has happened on numerous occasions since i've gotten the car in march 2018 plus when the auto-stop is initiated the car actually turns completely off turning the radio off but once the brake is released it then restarts. A new battery was installed on march 8, 2019.

On 7/8 i went in for a regular oil change. Gm told me there was a recall and they set my brakes. My car has what is called an auto stop feature that save fuel. After they fixed my brakes and i drove away my auto stop would not engage at all. I took it back right back on 7/8. They told me they fixed the auto stop. I drove away again for the second time. Auto stop still not engaging. I took it right back. I then called nine days later they said it was fixed but when i got there it had not been fixed and they traded our rental for what they call a drac car. They called me and told me that there was something wrong and they would have to reset the computer completely. They then call back at 3:30 to tell me it was fixed. This was 7/14. I picked it up today 7/15 and auto stop is not working. They want me to keep it a couple days before i bring it back.

While driving down the highway at 65 mph an animal began entering my path. Due to the size of the animal i immediately applied the brakes hard. The vehicle immediately jerked the steering wheel to the left and then even harder to the right. Had i not had both hands on the wheel, it is highly probable that control of the car would have been lost when it jerked to the right. As it was, i was able to control the car but this was a scary emergency stop event. I did not have to stop the car and did get slowed enough to avoid an accident -- it was the reaction of the car jerking left and more powerfully to the right that was scary and was definitely not expected. The car has disc brakes all around.

He stated that there was nothing in there system concerning this matter. Make a long story short there was a valid recall on this car. I have taken this car back 4 other times for this brake issue. Service department states there is nothing wrong. I still have the intermittent brake issue in which one mechanic agreed that he felt the long pedal on the brakes.. 552(b)(6).

While driving at 65 mph on a two lane interstate the vehicle steering does not track straight in the lane to a small degree so when correcting to stay straight would feel a sticking point and you would have to overcome it causing the vehicle to veer. In my instance almost causing me to turn into a semi truck. The temperature was around 35 degrees with dry straight road.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, the steering wheel seized and the power steering and traction control warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road with caution. The engine was turned off and after restarting it, the vehicle resumed normally. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

Steering gets stuck in the center position while driving on straightaways and requires force to correct it which causes over steering the vehicle. The car only has 10,000 miles on it and didn't do it when new. It is very uncomfortable driving this car as you are constantly correcting the steering.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated that while turning right, the traction control engaged independently causing the steering wheel to malfunction. The contact mentioned that the failure did not occur when turning left. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure.the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 500.

I pulled to a stop at a stop sign. The car went into auto stop. As i try to navigate right the steering lock up on me. This made the car start climbing the side of the road.i tried to step on the brakes and the car accelerated and hit the wall.

While driving at highway speeds (65-70 mph) on straight and level highway, steering would develop a "sticky, or dead spot" on center.when attempting to make a slight correction, it required increased effort to overcome the "sticky" spot; i could feel the increased resistance, and then suddenly the steering wheel would move.it took effort to keep the car from jerking.initially this would occur only when temperatures were below approximately 50 degrees (we were on christmas break in utah).however, upon returning to texas and warmer weather, the condition has persisted, albeit intermittently.i took it to the dealer on 15 jan; however they were "unable to duplicate".this afternoon i observed the same "stickiness" while waiting at a stoplight.i have attempted to work through chevrolet customer service representatives on-line, but have not been able to get anyone to acknowledge that a ""problem" exists.

I received a notice from gm on 12/05/2014 stating:"the letter is intended to make you aware that some 2014 model year chevrolet malibu vehicles may have increased friction in the steering system.this could cause the steering wheel to stick in the straight-ahead position after driving long distances on a straight highway. The steering wheel can be turned but it may require increased effort.do not take your vehicle to your chevrolet dealer as a result of this letter unless you believe that your vehicle has the condition as described above."i am filing this safety complaint to have the 2014 chevrolet malibu recalled.this is an accident waiting to happen.although i am not experiencing any problems with my steering, that doesn't mean it want happen in the near future.which is why chevrolet has given a "10 year or 150,000 free service on this part".as a concerned owner/consumer, i don't believe chevrolet is acting responsibly in handling this possible safety tragedy.please intervene and have this model car recalled.thanks for your prompt consideration.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While driving 80 mph and making a turn, the steering wheel was difficult to move. The contact restarted the vehicle, but it was unable to be driven above 20 mph without the steering wheel locking up. Also, the "please service steering" warning indicator illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and opened case number: 8-3897166123. The contact was referred to the local dealer. The failure mileage was 36,731.

The contract owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to be duplicated the failure and no repairs were made to the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 16,350.

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet malibu. While driving 20 mph, the steering wheel turned left and right before seizing. The contact also stated that the power steering failed without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000.

The steering jerks to the left and when correcting it back the steering hits a sticky spot. There is no vibrating or advance warning, it is just a quick pull and then a sticky spot.

Car turns off the engine light is on and found out the rocker arm solenoid valve is not working i'm afraid to drive the car i don't know what to do i have not had the car not even one year. I'm afraid to drive the car for it to turn off in the highway luckily it was on the street when the car just turned off

Two times impacted by behind when stopped due to traffic, follower card did not noticed in time due to stop light not lit. Same scenario in both cases. Need advise on gm recalls for medical expenses coverage.

A lady ran a red light and t-boned my chevy malibu on the drivers side as i was proceeding through the intersection. Airbags did not deploy. My head slammed in to the drivers side window. Drivers side door was smashed in. The car had to be towed because it couldn't be driven. I have a concussion that's lasted for 2 weeks and body pain from the accident. Shouldn't the airbags have deployed?

This car has been damaged from the day we purchased it, we were finally told it was more than likely tied down too tight on the delivery truck. It has many issues such as the body doesn't line up, the electronics are bad and the care has shut down going down the freeway twice, the paint is dirty and peeling, the gm rep said there was nothing they can do to fix the vehicle but they will not stand behind it and refund my money or give me another new one.

The trunk of my malibu opens by itself.this has happened twice now, the first time i thought that maybe i or my children accidentally pushed the trunk release button on the remote key.but the second time this happened this could not be the case.i saw on forums that this issue is happening to others as well.

2014 chevrolet malibu. Consumer writes in regards to the use of tire/compressor kit and safety issues. *tgwthe consumer discovered there was spare tire and jack in the vehicle. Instead, the vehicle came equipped with a tire/compressor kit. The owner's manual stated the kit was only useful for a flat tire. It wasn't useful for sidewall failure or a bent rim.

Mechanic stated my transmission is going out. At 93,000 miles this should not occur. My car needs repair almost every month. Took to chevrolet dealership and was told that i had metal shavings in my transmission.then was called back stated i dont. Now another mechanic stated my transmission is going out

The "auto stop" has stopped working. It is suppose to shut down the engine after a complete stop to conserve fuel however the tachometer indicates that the engine is still running and does not drop to "auto stop" at the bottom of the tachometer. This does not save any fuel and it completely worthless.

It's making a unknown sound

Side view mirrors keep falling off.tabs holding mirrors in place always break which causes mirrors to fall out of sockets while driving on highway.had to replace both mirrors on vehicle at considerable expense.

Auto start does not work. It keeps giving me a check engine light when i try to start the car with the remote. I took it to auto zone to get a diagnostics test. The code came back with p305f dtc definition.

On several occasions starting a month ago my car when stopped shuts completely off when i disengage auto stop, and then it stalls

My auto stop and start has not worked in 6 months and now the stabilitrak light comes on and my car stalls as i am driving so many parts have been changed and now no one knows what to do its been in three different shops

When the vehicle comes to a complete stop... And the start stop is being activated it completely shuts the vehicle off and it is hard to restart the vehicle... Most of the time i have to get somebody to jump start my vehicle in order to get it back in motion... I feel that it is a safety issue if i am at the traffic light and there is ongoing traffic or if i have to slam on brakes or if there is a emergency

Front defroster does not work.started to function improperly at intermittent intervals but is completely non functional now.makes driving hazardous as windshield fogs up while driving during cold temperatures and no way to clear it.

The car shut off when you get on your brakes while driving down the highway

I started my car and drove about 1/4 of a mile and a warning light came up on my car stating engine power reduced. Pulled over put car in park turned car off then on then drive. Car did fine for about a mile. Then car showed reduced engine power again andthen completely shut off in middle of road and would not start back. Was in middle of curve going up hill. Car would not even roll when placed in neutral so that i could get it out of road.

July 16,2016 my 2014 chevrolet malibu was parked in a parking space space and began to roll backwards. The car was occupied with a front side passenger and 2 rear passengers. I was able to jump in the car and press the brake to stop the car from going further. I do not see that there is a recall or that there has been a recall. I am checking after seeing an unfortunate accident on the news of the same problem resulting in death.

While the vehicle was in motion in january 2020, the check engine light came on. The vehicle loses power while driving and then accelerates suddenly which is a hazard. I took the vehicle to the dealership and i was told the faulty part was gm# 12633613 rocker arm control-solenoid valve. The dealership friendly chevrolet in dallas, tx told me they could not fix the car because the damaged part was obsolete. I have been in contact with chevrolet and they gave me a case #9-5872869989 but as i try to follow up they don't answer my calls any more. Chevrolet just gave me some websites where to find the part, but none of the siteshas the part and i continue driving with the check engine light on and at risk of an accident.i have not received any solution from chevrolet and they have just sent me to look for the part in the aftermarket or junkyards. I have wasted countless hours looking for the part with no success.please have the manufacturer recall the vehicle or start producing the part number again so my car can be fixed. I wont be able to pass the inspection or sell the car with the check engine light on.

Got code p16cf, malfunction of rocker arm oil control valve. Came on while driving, now unable to buy part.

Dec. 28 , 2016 i was leaving to work at 4 am when i turned on the my car i tried to turn on my defrosters but i'm a/c wasn't turning on untill like 10 mins after the car was running it turn on. The same thing happened in the summer of 2017 it's like 110 degrees i tried to turn on my a/c just wasn't turning on maybe cars have bad days too.

Hvac control module. Module needs to be reprogrammed.

Car has problem with auto stop. Stalls and hard to restart. Took to mechanic and gets code with brake assist. Called chevy and they stated my car had a recall with this exact issue but states is closed however they could not get any info on when fixed and where. Called dealer where bought car and they state no recall on car ever and never even hard of this recall. Called back other dealer and they will look at car but cant for days and wont give a loaner. What is happening with car is wht the recall is. Dealer that will look at car thinks it is very starnge that comes up with this recall but closed with no other info. Car is not safe to drive as stalls and hard to restart and having brake assist issues.

The cars stop start function is malfunctioning and will completely turn the car off when engaged. I have almost been rear ended twice in the last two weeks due to this. This happens anytime the function is engaged. I just purchased the car march 17,2020

This car is equipped with the auto stop/auto start feature. Meaning when you come to a complete stop the car shuts down, then when its time to go by releasing the brakes it will restart and move again. With my malibu it will auto stop constantly and when the light turns green it won't restart for sometimes minutes at a time. Holding up traffic behind me and creating chaos. I have to put the car in park mode, pull out the key, reinsert the key and try to start it. Sometimes it restarts after one time of doing this, but most of the time it takes several tries to finally getting it started. It started doing this about 2 months ago and seems like its getting worse. I feel like this is a huge safety issue, and am concerned for my safety and those of others in my car at the time. Please investigate into this matter, thank you.*

I took my car to two dealerships. My check ebgine light i on. They said i needed a rocker arm valve solenoid . Part no. 1633613 but cannot seem to find rhat part.

Part no. 12633613 which is a valve is currently on national back order.there are currently 23,000 customers waiting for this part.this part should be recalledit's not possible that 23,000. Parts are defective and not be recalled.nobody (dealership or gm) seems to know when to expect the part, won't say who makes the part or why it's on national back order.

Rocker arm control valve- gm part # 12633613 . Causes chugging, shuddering, slow acceleration, delay when going from a stopped position (i.e. Stop light/ sign), poor gas mileage. Check engine light remains on and will not allow for remote start to be used. Driving at any rate of speed over 15 mph, either in town or highway/ interstate, the engine will chug or try to stall. Also going over 45 mph, will cause the vehicle to shudder when driving. Acceleration is delayed, causing issues while at intersections

First of all thanks nhtsa for recalling the brakes on this vehicle. Well another problem has arose with this vehicle. My daughter was driving this vehicle this morning. When she applied the brakes coming down hill she stated the vehicle slowed then sped up while pushing the brake pedal. So i then road tested the vehicle when i got home from work. Descending down the same hill i felt the vehicle speed increase while i had the brake pedal pressed down. It seems that the transmission is not helping the vehicle slow down at times.. Meaning the transmission is up shifting instead of down shifting to help slow the vehicle. This is definitely a safety concern. I did some research on this site and there is a tsb on this issue(vehicle speed control no. Pic-5652-b). I will have it looked at asap. Of course i already know day centennial service dept will say they cant duplicate my concern. I truly believe that this will be a safety recall.

Very jerky acceleration while driving at speed or trying to speed up, vehicle stutters at acceleration

My car cuts off at lights . These problems are in the drive shaft . The vvt thing.

Service engine signal won't come off and my car won't cut off

Upon entering vehicle and starting up to go to work, the heating and ventilation system did not work , turned car on and off multiple times and still would not work. Drove car to work and the heat was stuck on high and the vents were untouchable due to not being able to operate heat/air or any other buttons on the system for that. Started raining on the way and had to use wipers and put windows up and windows started to fog and unable to clear them due to this reason also, will try to take in to the dealership in the morning and hope they can fix this problem. This is about the 3rd time since i had the car that it has done this, but the other 2 times it was only for a shorter time than this.

Front defroster does not work.started to function improperly at intermittent intervals but is completely non functional now.makes driving hazardous as windshield fogs up while driving during cold temperatures and no way to clear it.

If i change the settings of my defrost or heat/ac at all, the blower stops working. It will then come back on randomly in 10 mins or an hour or days.while driving i won't be able to defrost my windshield at all. My dealer reset the computer (march) and it was fine but now has started again. Now it is back to just not turning on randomly. My vin is not apart of the recall?

When the vehicle was started, the hvac fan control was not functional. The power indicator light was not illuminated and there was no blowing regardless of where the knob was positioned.this prevented the defrost function to engage, and as a result there was poor visibility through the windshield. I turned off the vehicle and restarted it, and the hvac fan would still not function. I checked the fuse box, and the fuse was not blown. Later in the day, i started the car the next day and the fan was working properly. This issue has occurred multiple times over the past few weeks. I took my vehicle to a dealership and they were unable to determine the cause of the problem. This malibu does fall into the production dates of the nov 2013 visibility recall.

I was driving on the highway at 65mph with the sun roof tilted up when it suddenly exploded.nothing hit the glass. I was not around any trucks or overpasses. Glass shards carpeted the vehicle interior. There were no injuries. It was a sunny day and the temperature was 68 degrees.

I have had my car for 10 months and went to start it on 5/31/18 and there was no hvac at all. I tried turning the car off and restarting it but to no avail. Eventually it did come back on a few days later but it is happening intermittently. Living in s. Florida it gets very humid and when it rains the windshield steams up so you have to run the ac. At this point i have to pull over or open all the windows which soaks my interior. My husband has a heart condition and i am very afraid taking him to his appointments. I went online and researched the problem and it appears it has been going on since 2013 but no recalls have been made. It has been mentioned by some that it is a software problem that can be done by the dealer but no dealer will take care of it without charging me. I do not want to take it anywhere else for fear of someone missing up the computer all together. Please help! this is as bad as driving with no wipers. They should have done a recall with as many complaints that i have seen online alone.

Control panned for the 2014 chevy malibu that controls heating a/c defrosting ect does not work . All of the lights went off and none of the controls are operational

Wheel bearing assembly.my car, as well as oh so many others, have an issue with the magnetic ring on the bearing assembly breaking.when this happens, it causes the abs, traction control, stablitrak and brake assist to all shut down.these failures happen frequently and repeatedly.it's estimated to be a $400 fix...for each one.considering not every owner can just run to a dealer on a moments notice to have one or multiple bearing replaced, it leaves us with no choice but to drive a car with all of these components disabled until the repair can be made.it might not be a problem in places like california or florida where they don't deal with snow and ice, but here in iowa, it's a safety concern to not have the abs, traction control, brake assist and stablitrak functioning.the worse part is, i can fix one and have others go bad or fix them and they go bad again down the road.

My car started making this loud roaring noise at 75,000 miles. It got worse the longer i drove it. I ended up getting whee bearing replaced. Looking online i found out this is a huge problem with 2014 malibu's. Most are going out before 50,000 miles or lower. I think chevrolet needs to know about this problem before someone gets hurt.

It's making a unknown sound

Car turns off the engine light is on and found out the rocker arm solenoid valve is not working i'm afraid to drive the car i don't know what to do i have not had the car not even one year. I'm afraid to drive the car for it to turn off in the highway luckily it was on the street when the car just turned off

Rear wheel bearing and hubs replaced at 22,790 miles at 37,00 miles left rear and right front wheel bearings are bad again

I just bought my vehicle from the dealer and notice chunks off rubber coming of the tire and the car itself has low miles 40,000want to know if anything can be done to fix issue

While on a trip to florida the rear wheel bearings and hubs went bad with less than 21000 miles. Vehicle was noisy and slight shimmy n the rear while driving on all type of roads and at all speeds.

Wheel bearings or hubs going bad on numerous malibu's. Many reported below 30k miles. My car is at 53k and 2 &1/2 years old and just had my first wheel hub go! the dealer paid basically for the labor and i paid for the factory part that will go bad again. The part by acdelco has only 1 seal and that maybe good for the southern half of the country but the northern half of the country uses salt which we as consumers can not control. I wash and clean my car regularly to keep salt off in winter.but the seal is still corroding with no backup protection. Moog provides a wheel hub and uses 4 seals! how are we as consumers supposed to be able to know exactly when the wheel hub is going to go. The wheel hub is getting water and dirt inside meaning that 1 seal is failing! its only a matter of time until someone gets seriously injured. Help us stop that from happening. If my vehicle was 7 years or had 100k miles on it and a wheel hub went bad then i would replace all 4 to be proactive, but at 50k miles i or we as consumers (however you want to look at it) shouldn't have to be that proactive to keep the wheels on the car! also when i contacted 3 different dealers and asked them for a replacement wheel hub and told them it was for a 2014 malibu, each one of them responded by saying "that's not surprising, we get a ton of part requests for that particular part on that vehicle." 2 of them even chuckled because they know we will need 3 more and they know the process will continue to start all over again. Luckily for me i do my research and won't be putting anymore wheel hubs by gm or acdelco on my vehicle. I will be putting on moog! sadly other people won't research like i did and will gettaken advantage of and if they trade theirs cars in all they are doing is eventually passing on their problem to someone else who is unsuspecting. The bearing sounded like extra loud road noise.

The wheel bearings are going out with less than 40k miles on it and it is a well documented and regularly occurring problem. On the malibu forum there are over 7 pages of people stating that they have had to replace the wheel bearings with as few as 19k miles on them. I am a few thousand miles outside of my warranty so i have to pay for the repair out of my own pocket but i think its ridiculous that oem parts, that the gm service managers admit are faulty, have to be paid for by the consumer. If my wheel bearing failed i could have lost control of the vehicle and put my whole family at risk of serious injury or death.

While driving abs warning came on. Also showed brake assist warning and stability ram warning.

As many other customers have reported on these malibu's, issues with the wheel bearings going out in them at relatively low miles. I think this issue needs to be looked into because there are a ton of complaints about this issue.
