July 2009 i was driving on the interstateat around 75 mph when the engine died and wouldn't start, pulled off the road, engine would crank but not start, after a few minutes it started and i drove home. I called a mechanic and he said it probably was the ignition control module, go to the junk yard and get one. From then through december 2012 i replaced the ignition module three times. In december 2012 i replaced both the module and the crank positioning sensor, thinking that it could be causing the module failure. Three months later the engine died again i had the module tested, it was ok, had the car towed to the dealer, they checked it for three days and said the heat from the engine had made the crank positioning sensor to separate internally and it was replaced again. Car ran finefor three weeks and wouldn't start after driving around town let it sit for a couple of hours, started up on the first try drove it home. April 2013 my judgmenttells me that the plug to the positioning sensor is the problem, when engine is hot the plug either opens up or shorts out from liquid from the engine. I checked with the parts man and he said he had sold one positioning sensor all year (mine) and sold 30 plugs going to it, i'm replacing my plug!

I purchased a 2001 chevrolet lumina on march 15,2002.three to six months after purchasing this vehicle my wife and daughter began to complain of headaches, dizziness, stomach aches, nausea, and extreme fatigue.we didn't know what was causing these symptoms. We took our daughter to the doctor several times and could not find any reason to explain symptoms.eight months after this purchase my daughter developed a respiratory illness known as reactive airways disease.we are currently treating her for this illness.my wife researched the symptoms and came up with the conclusion of carbon monoxide poisoning. We have electric heat in our home.the only place they could have been exposed to carbon monoxide was in the vehicle.i returned the car to the dealer one year after purchase.we were told that there was a leak in the trunk.they hammered the trunk gasket and said the problem was fixed.the symptoms were still present.we purchased a household carbon monoxide detector and placed it inside the car.the detector went off twice proving there was co in the cab of the car.the dealer replied with "if we cannot see it we cannot fix it."i have contacted gm customer service and we are currently working on finding a solution.i have personally rented a lel handheld monetor manufactured by biosystems.within 20 to 25 minutes of being in the passenger compartment of the vehicle i receive readings lel 6, co 6, 5, 3, 6 constantly fluctuating yet always present.3 to 5.are these safe readings?what can these gasses do to my family?no dealer in our area seem to have a tester to test inside the vehicle.diagnostic tests all come up negetive for exhaust system leaks.could this have caused my daughters respirdatory condition?what should my next step be?am i the only person who has contact you for this type of problem?
