Air bag light continually on, consumer took vehicle in for repair and while in for repair false deployment of air bag causing damage to vehicle's interior.(attorney for consumer).

While making left hand turn into a parking lot, the steering wheel locked up. The driver hit a parked car andboth air bags did not deploy. Vehicle has experienced brake problems, front rotors have been replaced twice, front brake pads have been replaced, rear shoes glazed.steering gear replaced due to consumer losing power steering while driving, power steering pump was replaced, rack was also replaced.water pump was leaking and was replaced.air bag light illuminated, dealer stated sir coil inoperative.

Dashboard cover on passenger side airbag has detached/pulled away and buckled up from the foam air bag casing.gm/chevrolet was notified of the problem via phone.the response given by gm/chevrolet representative was that the car was too old to warrant their attention/repair.this does not answer the question, if the air bag will deploy properly.the chevrolet dealership stated that they would replace and paint it at cost and04/16/2012 labor paid by customer.auto insurance has referred the problem to the manufacturer. This problem has been progressive in nature, beginning approximately 4 years ago.

I was traveling home. Lost control and could not turn. The steering went out, and fuel system. I was left in a coma for ten days. My airbag did not deploy like it was developed to do. I received a traumatic brain injury because of the lack of it deploying broke 11 bones.7 ribs and four vertebraes.spent a month in lester e cox hospital (south), 4 months in the university or missouri brain injury unit was awarded a state guardian,[xxx] ,and spent 3 months in maries manor located in vienna missouri.the state guardian cleaned me out of all assets even though i had two insurances.one cigna and one medicaid.so none of my money went to medical care but to pay his 3 attorney fees.my traumatic brain injury i deal with every day.it does not go away. For life. Your firm covered up nearly 15 years of another recall that does not deploy the airbag in many vehicles.no more! 11 months is too long. Airbag indicator light on instrument cluster always on, indicating that airbag is non-operational. Dealer cited a technical service bulletin on service order, but repairs quoted to be paid by owner. Problem is related to high resistance in the wiring harness for the airbag. I have talked with other owners of 1997 lumina's who have had the same problem (people i work with). This is too common of a problem to be left as a tsb. This should be corrected (recall or otherwise). I have a complaint with chevrolet customer service as well (complaint file #990567661) if the airbag is non-operational because of this, any passenger riding in my vehicle is not protected by a supposed safety feature for which insurance companies provide discounts. I have noticed a single airbag tsb across many 1997 chevrolet models in my online searches. I think this is an extremely widespread problem that should be addressed.

I was driving home veered off the left side of the road lost control the power steering went out spun in circles until finally hitting a concrete culvert neither airbag deployed. I broke 4 vertebraes 7 ribs and received a traumatic brain injury. Couldn't even recall my parents foe months or even they lived together . Laid in the car til paramedic foundme about an hor later. Between november 2002 and may 2003, i have gone through 4 batteries and 3 visits to the dealer for electrical "shorts." either the antilock brake warning light, or the airbag warning light would come on, and the interior dash lights would become increasingly dim indicating a battery drain. Within a day or two, the battery would be completely drained, and there is no power at all. The dealer reports finding problems in the battery cells and shorts in the harness under the dash each time, but the problem persists. *nlm

Dt*:the contact stated there was a loss of consciousness while driving 65 mph.as a result,the contact rear ended another vehicle and the air bags failed to deploy.during pre-impact braking the front end of the vehicle lowered and went underneath the vehicle in front.the hood and radiator were pushed back however there was no damage to the front bumper.although seat belts were in use, head and chest injuries were sustained.there was a police report filed at the scene.the manufacturer and insurance company are sending representatives to inspect the vehicle.

On sunday january 27, 2002 i was involved in an accident as a result to a problem with the brakes on my 1997 chevrolet lumina ls model 4-door sedan that could have resulted in serious injury or death.about a week and half before the accident i knew i was having a problem with the vehicle stopping and i brought it to the original dealer where the vehicle was purchased at hurd buick-chevrolet-pontiac-gmc trucks located in johnston, ri 02919, and had them look at the brake system of the vehicle.i explained the problem that when i applied the brake pedal the vehicle would have trouble stopping and i had to apply a great force on the pedal and allow more timing to stop than normal.the auto technician said nothing he could find wrong but adjusted the brakes and cleaned them.a week and half later while traveling to a drug store i applied the brake pedal as i was pulling into a parking space and the vehicle would not stop.fortunately no one was in front of the vehicle except a concrete light pole base that i hit.the vehicle suffered extensive damage to the front bump, hood, and lights and right fender and the total cost of repair is $3,500.00.i was wearing my seatbelt and both the driver's airbag and passenger airbag did not dispense. The vehicle was towed to the autobody garage and the insurance company was notified.even though i have applied the brake pedal to the floor i felt the vehicle lost half of its brake power to fully stop.i hope this incident can be prevented from happening again  next time it may be fatal.

While driving vehicle about less than 5 mph, trying to make a left turn, another oncoming vehicle driven about 40 mph, according to consumer, hit the consumer's vehicle that was driven by his wife at the time; having a side impact and both air bags did not deploy, causing injuries to head/back, etc.the driver was not taken to hospital. The consumer said, "he would like to return vehicle back to dealer where he bought the vehicle used.

I have a 97 chevrolet lumina and started experiencing steering tightness when turning left. I heard about a re-call so i took my car to the chevrolet dealer for help. I asked them if they could check the lower pinion bearing to see if that was the problem. They told me they knew nothing about any recall and said that my power steering pump was out. They couldn't get the part for a week. I was afraid to continue driving it the way it was so my husband changed the pump. There was no difference in the steering. I took it back to the dealer, they said the pump was fine but they would have to flush the system because parts from the pump probably got into the rack. I again explained to them about the upcoming recall and they told me it couldn't be the problem. It was going to be a couple of days before they could get my car in to flush out the system and i asked them if it was safe to drive it the way it was and they told me it wouldn't be a problem. That next day when i was driving my car the steering completely went out. The steering wheel just started spinning. I think i am lucky to be alive.i had to have it towed to them.they told me that the steering column broke and that it still had nothing to do with any recall. They are charging 600.00 for what they fixed. I asked them if i could have the old rack to have the lpb checked out to see if it was bad but they didn't have the part any more, they sent it to where ever they have them re-built. They are going to try and get it back. When they took my car for a test drive after replacing the rack they said that the airbag warning light came on and now want to charge me another 325.00 to fix that. Of course again, nothing to do with changing the rack. Can you tell me if any of this has anything to do with the lpb? i am at a loss, i have read other complaints and to me this sounds about the same.*la

Twice now when trying to start my 1997 lumina lights come on and car won't turn over.something must be going on with the electrical system.after getting out of the car and leaving the key on, the car kicked over.any reason for this type for behavior.granted i know the car is getting older, but at 87k miles it makes me uneasy to go on any long jaunts.

I was driving my car one day, and when shutting it off briefly in a friends driveway, it refused to start. I had accessory power, but the starter would not crank. After checking that there was a good connection with the battery, there was still no ability to crank. After trying for about 5 minutes multiple times, the car finally turned over and started. I have1997 chevrolet lumina:i have had this car for alittle ove 2 years and since i got this car i have had to replace the brakes twice the alternator and 3 fuel injectors and the booster pump i was just wondering if there is a recall that handles any of these problems .because then maybe i could get help from my dealer.

I commute an average of 2.5 days a week because i carpool.i do not think an alternator should have went out.the vehicle just went dead with no warning and the volts light came on.the weather has been in the triple digets this summer buy my carpool partners vehicle is a 1991 ford taurus and her vehicle is running better than mine.that is spooky.

Alternator failed at 26,302 while my wife was driving the car, causing a complete electrical failure.the replacement alternator failed in the same way at 50,461 while my wife was driving at 70 miles an hour.losing your electrical system while you are driving is dangerous.both repairs were done by chevrolet dealers.the original alternator was as defective as the replacement the dealer put on.

Had alternator that was rebuild.alternator went out whilevehicle was going 70mph with a/c blowing.also, 5-6 milesmotor kept cutting on and off, finally stopping.. No electricity was getting tofuel pump. Once vehicle cut off pump and brakes no longer worked.consumer had to useemergency brake to help stopvehicle.

Horn button not easily accessible.

Consumer complains that horn is difficult to operate.

Design of horn assemblyelocated nea r air bag cover causes problem with activating horn when needed. One must press hard to get horn to come on. The horn is a communication devise needed to warn other in a emergency situation. Nhtsa should look into this matter.

Extreme pressure is needed to apply to the hornwhich could become dangerous in anemergency,cause unknown.

I have a 1997 chevy lumina the car. My problem is that i have less than 80,000 miles on it and now it wont start. I have changed the battery and alternator. It seems to work then not work. An article in popular mechanic s magazine said that they had a lot of trouble with the resistor on the keys and that's what cased it to not start your input on this problem would be gladly accepted.

While driving the vehicle and making a right turn there was a noise like metal on metal. When taken to dealer, problem was discovered to be a weak spring in the starter. The starter has been replaced. No problemwith vehicle at this time.

Lower intake gasket leaking into engine.cost to repair $900 us from dealer.problem is apparently caused by using gm dexcool antifreeze and a defective gasket.gm is aware of the problem and knows it effects all 3.1l and 3.4l engines produced from around the mid 1990s to 2000. No recall has been issued by gm since this seams not to be a safety issue.

Vehicle overheated. Independant mechanic determined that radiator was plugged, and flushed radiator. One week later, vehicle overheated again. Consumer checked anti freeze, it was low, so he added anti freeze.next day vehicle overheated, and consumer noticed water inoil. Had vehicle towed to dealership. Dealer determined that factory anti freeze was eating through t gaskets, and causing internal engine damage. Vehicle needs new engine.

Took my car to my mechanic for it's regular 3000 mile oil change.he told me at that time that the head gaskets were leaking.i called the manufacturer and was told that in order to diagnose the problem i would have to take it to the dealership where i purchased the car.i was rather reluctant to this as i had problems in the past with this same dealership.i had taken my car there several times because the oil light would not go off and they were unable to find anything.i also had a problem with my check engine light and again they could find nothing.they did install struts on my car after my mechanic told me that they were shot (my car was under warrantee), but again i had to take the car back twice and point out the leaking that was coming from the struts (their mechanic could not find it).so reluctantly i took my car there.the service manager [xxx] assured me that the would in fact work with me to get it repaired.he told me that sometimes chevy would pay as much as 75% of the cost of the repair.he called me back to tell me that his mechanic could not find any leaking from the head gaskets, but did in fact find the intake manifold was leaking.it would cost about $700.00 to repair but they would only charge me $500.00 to have the repairs done,but chevy would pay for the parts.i told him at that time no thank you, i could have it done at my mechanic for less.he called me back within minutes of my hanging up the phone and told me they would do it for $350.00.i agreed as it was less than my mechanic would charge.i also questioned him again about the head gaskets, he assured me they were okay.the car was supposedly repaired on the february 15, 2001. I did not use the car often, have actually put on less than 50 miles since the repair.today is february 22 and the car is not drivable because the head gaskets are shot per my mechanic.i have more to comment on, but not enough room.parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursua

Engine at cold idle is knocking again, 7000 miles since new pistions, transmission is slipping again after 7000 miles, front end suspension dealer has never been able to duplicate the problem have had it looked at 6 times.

Intermittent stalling.

Vehicle would experience engineleaking. Owner noticed the leakage on garage floor. The problem occurred after routine maintenance on vehicle. The head gaskets/servo cover/ "o" rings,intakemanifold/engine valves & pan gasket were changed. The transmission was also leaking. The dealer did all repairs.

Noticed oil spots on driveway. Reparked in different locationand more oil spots. Took vehicle to mechanic, andinformed consumer that intake gaskets were leaking. Had no problem driving.

All engine mounts upper and lower had to be replaced. Also had to replace both tie-rod ends, inner & out.

Antifreeze was sprouting out. Light had came on. Drove to dealership, and was informed by mechanic thatengine gaskets were gone & needed to be replaced. This wassecond time thatengine gasket problem has happened.

I know of several owners of chevy lumina where paints is peeling and engine failure is there anything i can do to start an investigation.

Luminahad 33698 miles and was clattering when cold starting, lasts 3-10 minutes, called dealer where car was bought, dealer says it is piston slap and it is common, nothing they can do about it. Gets worse and worse as the miles rack up. Car has been in three times for engine clatter and have been told everytime piston slap very common and unwarrantied.

Vehicle just cuts off while driving without any warning, and then have to restart the vehicle.

Everytime car is driven it makes a whistling noise. Dealer says it's in the engine.

While driving at any speed the vehicle just quits without warning. The vehicle has been towed to the dealership at least 5 times for this problem. The dealer is not able to correct this problem.please provide any furhter details.

Vehicle undergoes loss of power when traveling at normal rate of speed and also when first pulling off from a stopped position.seems like a dead pedal.vehicle has been in shop since 0ct 7,98 and dealership still unable to determine problem. Almost resulted in an accident on 2 seperate occasions.

Oil leak on engine- dealer says it is at intake

The car cuts out, has a miss or hesitation that has not been detected on machinery.the engine was replaced, the fuel pump replaced, i was told not to use bp or super america gas, no higher than 87 octane and i have done everything religiously.the dealer has had the car on multiple occasions & admits a problem.i became so frustrated that i filed a complaint with the ohio attorney general's office.automobile complaints are outsourced and "autocap" has been working to resolve the problem.however, after a year i remain frustrated.i have narrowly escaped at least two accidents because of this hesitation & then pressing the gas & taking off with a vengence.this car is definately an unsafe vehicle but i have come accustomed to driving it as i have no alternative.however, my youngest son just received his driving permit & i am scared to death to let him drive this car.the dealer installed a computer at one time which recorded 3 incidents of the problem.however, upon retrieving the data, the dealer claims there was data.they also report problems with the computers & quite frankly i don't believe they know how to use them.at one point the dealer offered to take this vehicle off my hands & put me in either another '97 for an additional $1000 or a new car for $349/mo.due to credit problems (a long story but i've worked 2 jobs for the past 11 years after a plant closing where my husband & i became displaced workers.we survived on my credit cards as my husband had problems emotionally & mentally dealing with being unable to provide for his family.he made less than $2000 several years & i became the sole provider.i wouldn't call living in a $60,000 home living lavishly so you can see we didn't get extravagent!)i cannot get a loan.however, i am working to repay my debts & rebuild my credit.the constant worry of driving an unsafe vehicle is driving me insane.any assistance you may provide would be greatly appreciated.thank you for your time.

Car has just quit running on two occasions,the last time in a major intersection almost causing a major crash.pushed car out of intersection. If car is left setting for 1/2 to 1 hour it will start up.car will be driven if it starts in am or towed if not to dealer.very dangerous situation. I noticed the smell of gasoline.initial searches for the source of the leak were unsuccessful, but after1 - 2 weeks it got worse and i was able to find it easily.the pressure regulator was leaking.i checked for a related recall and found that universal pressure regulators (upr's) produced after 1/9/07 had been recalled, but mine, i believe, is the original equipment pressure regulator.nevertheless, it may have a design defect.the car has about 161,000 miles on it.the dealer indicated that failure of a part with that many miles on it would not be subject to a recall, even though it is a safety-related failure.i sought out the nhtsa site to try to find out if that is the case, or not.the "incident date" noted below is the date i found the leak.no damage was done, and there were no injuries.

There was gas leaking from the vehicle's fuel tank. The consumer stated that because of the design defect, snow sand and road salt was allowed to accumulate on the top of the gas tank causing it to rust and degrade.

My wife had been complaining about a strong odor of fuel that she could smell while both in her vehicle driving, as well as, when the vehicle was parked and she was outside of it. I investigated and detected a strong odor of fuel as well. We then had our mechanic investigate the problem further and he discovered that the top of the fuel tank was severely corroded, as well as, in the area of the tank's seam. The more fuel in the tank, the worse the release of fuel vapors becomes, as the tank itself becomes saturated due to the severe corrosion. My mechanic tried to locate a new fuel tank through a local dealership but soon discovered that the fuel tank for this vehicle is not available. There are no after market, new or salvage tanks available for the 1997 lumina - nationwide. I filed a report with general motors 1(800) number on december 23rd, 2002. The dealership also opened a spac case through their parts network. I have followed up with gm's 1 (800) number twice since. There are no fuel tanks available for this vehicle. I am being told that there may be a tank available in late february or march but no one can give me a date. All i'm being told is that everything that can be done is being done. Once this coating wore off, the tank began rusting and the brass fuel filter shows the discoloration from the electrolisis created by the contact with the steel tank.this is also a serious safety hazard, which can lead to an explosion.in fact my wife was glad yesterday that she was driving with our daughter in our conversion van when she was almost rear ended at a traffic light two days ago.she felt that the car could have exploded if she had been rear ended in this car.this is a serious safety problem that i think nhtsa should look into and have gm recall these vehicles and repair these defectsplease let me know is there is any safety recall addressing this problem.

We can not tell what gear the transmission is in, it keeps changing over time. I can not tell when and if i am in reverse until i take my foot off the brake and step on the gas. Sometimes reverse sometimes not. Today, for example, when the indicator is in reverse the car is in neutral. When the indicator shows neutral the transmission is in drive,we think. When i go to park it could be reverse, never sure. In fact never sure where reverse is. Today my wife asked me to write out how to tell which gear she is in. Engine at cold idle is knocking again, 7000 miles since new pistions, transmission is slipping again after 7000 miles, front end suspension dealer has never been able to duplicate the problem have had it looked at 6 times.

Vehicle would experience engineleaking. Owner noticed the leakage on garage floor. The problem occurred after routine maintenance on vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the autobody garage and the insurance company was notified.even though i have applied the brake pedal to the floor i felt the vehicle lost half of its brake power to fully stop.i hope this incident can be prevented from happening again  next time it may be fatal.

I own a 1997 chevrolet lumina. The steering mechanism has a sporadic problem which makes it extremely difficult to turn the steering wheel at low speeds. Many times i have had to panic brake in order to stop the vehicle because it won't turn quickly enough to avoid other objects.this has been going on since i bought the car (may 1997). I've returned it to the local gm dealer who tells me there is nothing wrong with it. Gm sent me a letter in january of 2003 saying that my model was being recalled and i would receive another letter. No other communication arrived. When i checked at the gm dealer and on the gm recall web site, it reported that my model was not affected. I read in the newspaper today that nhtsa is conducting an investigation into steering issues involving this vehicle. I can assure you that my car has those issues and gm has been unwilling to do anything about it.

I asked them if they could check the lower pinion bearing to see if that was the problem. They told me they knew nothing about any recall and said that my power steering pump was out. They couldn't get the part for a week. I was afraid to continue driving it the way it was so my husband changed the pump. There was no difference in the steering. I took it back to the dealer, they said the pump was fine but they would have to flush the system because parts from the pump probably got into the rack. I again explained to them about the upcoming recall and they told me it couldn't be the problem. It was going to be a couple of days before they could get my car in to flush out the system and i asked them if it was safe to drive it the way it was and they told me it wouldn't be a problem. That next day when i was driving my car the steering completely went out. The steering wheel just started spinning. I think i am lucky to be alive.i had to have it towed to them.they told me that the steering column broke and that it still had nothing to do with any recall. They are charging 600.00 for what they fixed. I asked them if i could have the old rack to have the lpb checked out to see if it was bad but they didn't have the part any more, they sent it to where ever they have them re-built. They are going to try and get it back. When they took my car for a test drive after replacing the rack they said that the airbag warning light came on and now want to charge me another 325.00 to fix that. It has been brought to my attention by my mechanic,that this has been a problem reported in a seattle area newspaper with other gm vehicals in this class. I called lee johnsons and the 1-800 to see if there was any recalls were issued. No recalls at this time. The new paper said that this problem has caused injury accidents. The dust cap falls of and causes excessive were to the gear box. I feel this is a dangerous design flaw and should be corrected before more people are hurt. This is to important of a part to not have attention drawn to it. I feel a recall is nessary.

Ltr fwd wmail fm (tx) re recall of a 1997 chevrolet lumina for defective steering column.the consumer's daughter was involved in an accident which resulted in fatal injuries.the vehicle has an open recall on the steering rack and pinion.if this part failed it could result in loss of steering control.the consumer believes the part failed and caused his daughter to loose control of the vehicle.as a result the vehicle crashed into a full size pickup which was pulling a stock trailer.

Vehicle experienced a failure with the rack and pinion steering, there was a recall regarding the issue, however it did not apply to consumer's vehicle.

Over past few months vehicle has exhibited considerable play in steering when wheels are turned half-way to the left.when held in this position the steering wheel would oscillate left to right 1 to 2 inches.this morning while driving the vehicle i suddenly found it difficult to turn the wheel to the right.it was similar to a power steering failure.after a subsequent left turn the steering wheel re-centered itself to the left approximately. 20 degrees off-center.during the remainder of the drive the steering was erratic in turns.alignment is fine. Power steering pump was replaced due to leaking 1 year ago.vehicle receives regular maintenance per manufacturer's guidelines.the steering failure is consistent with defect described in recall 02-v-286-000.reported this to gm and was informed that by the vin the vehicle is not subject to this recall, and that due to the age and mileage there is no reimbursement for repair costs.i work with the auto industry and i am familiar with the common practice of parts substitution or "approved engineering deviations".while gm may not show the defective rack & pinion bearing assembly on the bill of material for the 1997 lumina, it is evident from the number of complaints reported that several of the model year '97 lumina's were manufactured with the defective assembly.at the least gm should recall the 1997 lumina's for dealer inspection and repair those with defective bearing assemblies.

Started having stiff left turns and the steering wheel would not return to centered position...stayed left.now it is difficult to turn both directions.i'm reporting this because it seems to be more than meerly the rack and pinion 'wearing out'.

After the dealership replaced the lower pinion bearing as stated in recall 03v527000 the vehicle had a severe pull to the right and the steering wheel was hard to control.the consumer took the vehicle back to the dealership. The dealership then replaced the steering gear because they indicated the replacement of the lower pinion steering caused the steering gear to fail.the problem still exist.

Exterior paint is peeling all over. Started on the hood,then rear lower door body line, then body line on trunk lid,then passenger quarter panel behind quarter glass window, then driver side quarter panel from gas lid opening all the way back to the tail light and started at body line all the way down to bumper.

While driving home one day another driver hit the side of the car close to the headlight on the driver side this hit caused me to no longer be able to drive the vehicle. The airbags in the vehicle did not deploy.

My wife was driving our 1997 chevrolet lumina sedan (which we have owned since new with no prior damage to vehicle) on her way to work on a local expressway going approximately 65 mph, when without warning the driver's side rear wheel separated from the vehicle.when the shock tower dragged the ground, this caused the vehicle to be thrust left into a concrete center median divider after crossing 2 lanes of traffic, causing major damage to the front and driver's side of the vehicle.although this was during the morning rush hour, no other vehicle was involved.upon investigation of the separated wheel, the spindle had failed.the wheel bearings were still nicely greased and free. The brake drum was still attached to the hub with all of the lug nuts completely tightened.my wife lost her job and was off work for over 4 mos. From injuries sustained from this incident.the vehicle was determined to be a total loss by our insurance company.the manufacturer to this point has refused and compensation stemming from the incident.

The rubber started to peel off one of the firestone tires (p205/70r15), tires are not included in recall and consumer request reimbursement.nlm

The tire lost it tread and did not blow out. The tires had less the 10k miles. The tread seperated in raton new mexico for my daughter (600 miles from home). She obtain a different manufacture tire and i don't have the orginal. The other 3 tires have the codes 31824ur bm19735 and 32746urbm199735. I could not find the dot number on the side it must have been on the inside of the tire. (tiresize: p225/60r16)

For a long time, the hazard lights will not engage. Also the left turn signal will not work. I don't know if they are related. We had a "flasher switch" replace for the turn signal but it did nothing different.

For life. Your firm covered up nearly 15 years of another recall that does not deploy the airbag in many vehicles.no more! 11 months is too long. Accelerator pedal is too close to the brake pedal resulting in accidential activation of accelerator pedal during braking.

Windshield wipers do work properly when they have not been used for a while.when wipers are turned on they will not do anything until wipers are turned on high. This is an intermittent problem. Dealers have not found a cause

If windshield wipers are to be used during the rain/snow, they would fail to come on. Would have to play around with switch before wipers work. This causes the driver to have poor visibility when driving. Its an intermittent problem, but becoming worse. Will be taking to dealer to check.

Windshield wiper motor failed.

My husband was driving to work when an elk ran out infront of him. He swerved left to avoid the elk, the car or wheels or steering wheel locked up and the car was thrown to the right causing it to roll 4 to 5 times.

At the manfacturer they willspray a rust prevention ,which in time will get hard and stripped the wheel lugs: nuts.

Wheel ondriver's left side was loose andmade a funny noise. He tookvehicle to the dealer, and they couldn't find any problem. But, consumer insisted the noise was still there, it was a rambling noise.

All five bolts on the front passenger side of my vehicle broke at the same time, causing my entire wheel to fall off. Part of the bolts remained on the care and the other half of the bolts rolled down the street on the wheel. The mechanic says that it is not supposed to happen. I would like to know if this is a defect.
