No deployment of airbags during accident, causing injuries.
Steering wheel made clicking sound when trying to turn wheel became hard to steer as if no power steering and air bag light came on. Turned out to be the air bag coil - which had an exposed circuit. Noticed many technical service bulletins of this nature about the clicking in the steering wheel. Do not know if air bag was involved with the techinical service bulletins or other complaints. Could have been a very serious incedent if this occurred while driving the vehicle. So happens that it occurred while pulling out of a parking space at a chevrolet dealership after just having the abs system repaired.
During collision violent deployment of air bag caused injury to face, hand, chest and knee.
Horn would blow on its own. Informed by mechanic the air bag had a short which caused the horn to blow. Dt:1995 chevrolet lumina.the consumer stated that when the vehicle was started, it caught on fire.a co-worker came out and had awaken the consumers son.the fire and police departmentsresponded.a fire report was taken.the fire departmentstated that the fire started in the rear of the vehicle on the passenger'sside near the bumper.also, a police report was taken.the manufacturer sent an inspector, who statedthat it was impossible for a fire to start.there was no exhaust leak, therefore gm couldnot do anything for the consumer.this happened on september 14, 2005.the vehicle had not been repaired.(11/21/05)*sc
1. Battery failed to turn engine over 3 differnt times in one day. Turn the key and it just clicks. Towed it to a dealer. The dealer says the battery failed load test. Relaced battery.2. A rubbing noise is heard from the rear when turning. Dealer found rear stabilizer bushing on rr strut out of position. Rr stabilizer shaft to position properly.3. Power door locks do not unlock with the remote. Dealer replaced right and left actuator bumpers. Came out of actuators.4. Brake squeal noise up front. Dealer inspects front brakes and concludes approx. 3-5k left on front brakes. Mileage at this point is only 16345.

Three problems so far with cruise control, one failure of either voltage regualtor or alternator leaving owner stranded, switch on drivers side window replaced for window operation, brakes squeak and sometimes work properly

Horn design is under air bag needing more pressure to activate horn. Owner states has to use fist to sound. Please describe details.tt
Design/location of horn makes it difficult to locate; also, difficult to push horn; safety hazard, could cause accident.tt
It is extremely difficult to locate the position of the horn in a panic situation which could result in a vehicle collision. Horn only works with extreme pressure at only two specific spots.two to five seconds usually occurs before correct horn position can be found.
Upon making a stop the brake pedal became very difficult to depress,causing extended stopping distance and loss of brake effectivness.in addition, the location and the design of the horn makes it difficult inan emergency to locate and depress the horn.also, due to the shape of the windshield there is a strong reflection of the front section which is very bad during certain daylight conditions.

The truck was destroyed by fire in the engine department. Had an engineer look at it and eletronic control module where the fire started. Tt
First start of the day,vehicle will idle high, and then vehicle will stall at least 3- 4 times before itwill actually act normally . Dealr has replaced massive air flow sensor/ computer chip/ spark plugs, including wiring , and has erased memory. Defect keeps reoccurring.
I owned a 93 lumina, which i had the transmission rebuilt 2 times, due to complete failure. Now i own a 95 lumina, which i had to replace the transmission with a brand new one due to major failure. The computer and map sensor failed, requiring replacement by the dealer. Chevrolet can do better than this.

The car was parked in my daughters garage.she was in the house when she heard a loud explosion.she ran outside to see what it was and saw that the front of the car was on fire.the car, her garage and several personal belongings were all totally destroyed.the car was burned to badly for the investigators to determine exactly where the explosion came from except somewhere under the hood.

The brake lights on the back of the car don't work all the time. The brake light in the back windowworks all the time. The brake lights on the back of the car are wired throught the turn signal, when the lever is moved, electical contact is lost and the brake lights on the back of the car don't work. I can get the brake lights to work again by moving the turn signal up and down, but as soon as the turn signal is used the brake lights stop working again. I've talked to 3 other people that owen 95 lumina's that have the same problem. That's why i'm reporting this problem to you. I've called chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020 ,they said ''they have never heard of this problem''. Any help you cam give me will be appreciated.

It was taken again for same problem and the mechanic said the a/c compressor was overheating it.it was replaced, but that wasn't the problem because it overheated again.the last time it was taken an oil change was done and checked for overheating problem due to spouse taking sick daughter to see a doctor in los angeles.the dealer said it was fine and okay to take to los angeles.the vehicle overheated during the trip and the a/c was not used once due to cold weather. The vehicle was taken to chevrolet dealer in los angeles.the mechanic said the oil was contaminated with coolant and the dealer in las vegas should have noticed it.the head gasket and other related parts and fluids were replaced at my expense $1790.i complained to the manufacturer and first they offered $200+.i said not enough, so they offered $400.i said it didn't even cover the a/c compressor that was good and not the problem, not to mention the money i spent on car rentals when my car was waiting to be seen by a mechanic.it was negligence on the las vegas dealer that my daughter had to suffer in pain on the side of the highway.as for the power steering pump and hose.i beleive they broke something when trying to repair the overheating problem.the power door lock never really worked since i got the vehicle and the radio always got very hot which could lead to an electrical fire.i beleive this vehicle should have a recall on the engine and electrical system especially when i was shocked that other owners had the same problems.
On or about 10-6-10 i assisted my grandson in purchasing a vehicle from a car lot in cleveland ohio.the car was a 1995 chevy lumina.we were told the car had been purchased at an auction in pa. And driven to cleveland without a problem.i paid $635 for the downpayment with additional $300 to be paid by 11-5-10 for a title transfer.then $200 a month thereafter for 12 months.we left with an elated young man who now had a way to get back and forth to work for his two jobs.the next day he takes it for an oil change and is told that the car has numerous problems, leaking gaskets, bad struts, rusted floor, and leak in gas tank and transmission.the next day, it stopped running.contacted the dealer who towed it and claimed to repair leaking trans.three days later it stops again,they tow it from i-480 highway and each tow we have to pay them $45.they are given a list of repairs needed, even though purchased with no warranty the car barely leaves the lot before it breaks down.on payday, he gets car back this time and fills tank up only for his job parking lot to be covered with leaking gas and the police and fire dept. Are called and tell him not to drive the car as the leak is a death trap.again i pay for a tow from aaa $64.they are informed and state they put a gas tank on and that we cannot contact them regarding anymore problems.two days ago the car stops again, battery dead.i purchase a new battery and today, the stabilizer bar falls and the struts are hanging leaving the car undriveable.something must be done regarding unscrupulous dealers that sell these hard working people unreliable transportation.
Vehicle is experiencing a constant coolant leak, the dealer has replaced the radiator because a radiator hose clamp broke, the thermostat, and water pump, because of the coolant leak the heater is blowing cold air.
I drove a lumina that had a problem that sounds like same type of engine shutoff problem that has been in the news lately.it happened most often when driving on the highway.as i decelerated on exit ramps, the engine would shutoff.this became a fairly regular occurrence with this car.several mechanics were unable to solve the problem.(i believe it was a 1994 or 1995 lumina that i owned.i could not find a record of it.)
The temperature gauge started to go up and down. It was found that there was anti-freeze in the oil, a seal was replaced. But that has not solved the problem. Looks like i will have to replace the engine. Mechanic stated that there are problems with that engine, and showed the seal which was bad.he stated that it is a bad design.
The low coolant light came on while driving. Consumer took vehicle to the dealer, and was told that everything was okay.they flushed the coolant and filled it.drove it again, light came on again, and temperature gauge began to run hot. Took it to dealer again there were no leaks.they drained out the oil from engine and antifreeze also came out.

A couple of days later, temperature gauge went to hot, then, within minutes it was back to normal. Took to dealer, and they said intake manifold was leaking.manifoldand head gasket had to be replaced.
Vehicle intake manifold gasket is leaking. This is due to the manifold being made of plastic which breaks and causes it to leak. Gm is aware of this flaw but i did not see recalls so i am reporting this matter in hopes there can be a recall for the faulty part.

Cooling fan continues to run even after vehicle is turned off, causing vehicle battery to run down. Dealer notified.
Vehicle started overheating. Replaced themostat and was told by mechanic that the head gaskets were failing. Took vehicle to chevrolet who ran diagnostics and informed me that head gaskets were leaking. Dealer told me that intake manifold gasket failure is common in the 3.1 but failure of head gaskets are not as common. The dealer replaced both head gaskets at a total cost of over $900. I asked the dealer if there was a recall on this and he replied no. I have spoken to several people since the time of my repairs and they to are experiencing the same problems with their vehicles....overheating with associated head gasket failure. At this point i am very displease with general motors inability to recognize that a problem does exist with head gasket and intake manifold gasket failure on the 3.1 engine. I have found that local mechanics are willing to acknowledge the problem exists while the gm mechanics will not.

Car was purchased at a dealership. I understood it was a used car and i wanted to purchase the extended warranty, but dealership would not let us. Two weeks after purchase the transmission blew. We bought another transmission from dealership and then that one failed. Finally, i complained to the manufacturer and received a new transmission. This car has had a total of 3 transmissions, new head gaskets and now the engine failed. The locks on passenger and driver side do not work. The car was well maintained. I was told by the manufacturer that they could not help me in any way due to the age and mileage on the car. I know plenty of people who have had their cars for at least 8 or 10 yrs. And still have the same engine. I suspect the dealership knew something was wrong with this car and sold it to us anyway. The car was sold to us for $12,500 they added an additional 25% interest, so in the end we are paying over $20,000 for this car. It is now going to cost me $4,800 to fix the car. This price exceeds what i owe. This car has been nothing but problems since day 1 and now the windows work when they want to. This vehicle is used to get to work and home, it's not like i was out drag racing in it. I'm just very upset. Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Engine died cost $5000 to buy a remanufactured one and have it installed by a mechanic at a service station.remanufactued will not honor quaranty-states engine had internal combustion causing a part to brake and so we have had no car for the past 2 months
Car was purchased at a dealership. I understood it was a used car and i wanted to purchase the extended warranty, but dealership would not let us. Two weeks after purchase the transmission blew. We bought another transmission from dealership and then that one failed. Finally, i complained to the manufacturer and received a new transmission. This car has had a total of 3 transmissions, new head gaskets and now the engine failed. The locks on passenger and driver side do not work. The car was well maintained. I was told by the manufacturer that they could not help me in any way due to the age and mileage on the car. I know plenty of people who have had their cars for at least 8 or 10 yrs. And still have the same engine. I suspect the dealership knew something was wrong with this car and sold it to us anyway. The car was sold to us for $12,500 they added an additional 25% interest, so in the end we are paying over $20,000 for this car. It is now going to cost me $4,800 to fix the car. This price exceeds what i owe. This car has been nothing but problems since day 1 and now the windows work when they want to. This vehicle is used to get to work and home, it's not like i was out drag racing in it. I'm just very upset. Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The engine backfired and blew off the power hose to the vaccum system, and that resulted in a very fast rpm (2000), andloss of power brakes. The hose does not have a clip and that causes the problem on the vehicle. This happens to all 95-98 luminas.

I owned a 93 lumina, which i had the transmission rebuilt 2 times, due to complete failure. Now i own a 95 lumina, which i had to replace the transmission with a brand new one due to major failure. The computer and map sensor failed, requiring replacement by the dealer. Chevrolet can do better than this.
I have the 3.1 motor in my van. It has a steady jerking action when the excellerater is pushed down. When i let up of the pedal it will usually smooth out. Nobody seems to be able to fix this problem. Also door locks are giving me problems. What is going on at general motors? i have driven chevys and buicks all my life.

I have a 1995 chevrolet lumina. The third, or upper brake light works fine, the directionals in the back work fine, the lights come on when i turn the headlights on, and my backing up light work fine. But the brake lights do not work when i hit the brake pedal.i am finding that many people with luminas are experiencing the same problem.my mechanic suggests replacing the entire brake light assembly, at a cost of over $300. Chevrolet should recall and correct this problem.
Brake lights stopped working. Will work if pull turn signal arm toward driver, but only while it is pulled forward. This will require a 350$ fix. Seen lots of other complaints on the internet about this same issue. If a turn signal arm that is known to go loose that causes brake lights go out is not a hazard i don't know what is.

(1) i had been having trouble with my turn signals on my 1995 chevrolet lumina ls vehicle for a little while.however, recently i found out that not only had my turn signals malfunctioned, but that they took out my brake lights with it.(2) while the window mounted brake light works, my rear lights (running and brake) do not work at all, resulting in the inability to use my vehicle.(3) at this point, i have been unable to correct the failure due to lack of funds.however, in doing research, i find that this is a common issue with chevrolet vehicles dating from 1994 to 2000, especially the lumina.when the turn signal switch malfunctions, it takes the entire rear lighting assembly out with it.apparently, there was a service issue bulletin released on the topic, by chevy won't make the situation right.

Dear nhtsa,i drive a 1995 chevrolet lumina. Recently i had the turn signal switch replaced. ($150) the switch just wore out from old age. I have looked on many websites and this is a common failure in these cars with many people complaining of the same failure.the real problem is when the switch wears out and fails; the lumina's brake lights do not function. The brake light circuit runs through this faulty turn signal switch and prevents the brake lights from coming on when the brakes are applied. This is a significant hazard, as cars behind you don't know that you have applied your brakes and may not reduce speed in time to prevent a collision. I am appalled that the brake light circuit goes through this failure-prone faulty switch. I wanted nhtsa to be aware of this situation and hopefully warn unsuspecting motorists.thank you

Vehicle is experiencing several problems due to faulty fuel components, dealer has replaced the following:fuel rail and vacuum manifold due to fuel leak, exhaust system, fuel tank, fuel filter, fuel pump and relay due to vehicle not starting, upper intake manifold which was warped and causing overheating, and sending unit, there was a leak at the throttle body seal and the dealer cleaned the fuel system.
Intake manifold gasket failed due to corrosion between manifold and head. Head and intake manifold shot.fuel pump burned out inside gas tank. The connector melted on the pump.
6/11/99 oil running out of engine..intake manifold gasket failure. Replaced.11/9/99 low coolant lamp on. Coolant in water pump. Pump replaced. Low coolant light on..pressure tested. Temperature gauge was reading hot engine, ,consumer started to add coolant, and there was no visable signs of leaking. A couple of days later, temperature gauge went to hot, then, within minutes it was back to normal. Took to dealer, and they said intake manifold was leaking.manifoldand head gasket had to be replaced.

While driving at highway speeds, the vehicle will start to slow down while the gas pedal position is still the same, then speed back up, a few times the engine has died completely but has started right back up, a mechanic thinks it may be related to the gas tank and it's associated components, it could also possibly be related to the throttle linkages and control, consumer hears a cracking sound from the rear of the vehicle when the fuel tank is full.

At engine shut-off, doors donot unlock causing alarm to exiting passengers. From outside, doors donot unlock with keyless remote and causes door locks to be unusable with key.

1. Battery failed to turn engine over 3 differnt times in one day. Turn the key and it just clicks. Towed it to a dealer. The dealer says the battery failed load test. Relaced battery.2. A rubbing noise is heard from the rear when turning. Dealer found rear stabilizer bushing on rr strut out of position. Rr stabilizer shaft to position properly.3. This car has been a source of continual problems since purchase. I have had door locks break, 2 power window motors go, transmission line leaks, and a rust problem on inside corners of the rear doors, that chevrolet (the corp). Refused to fix. It has been a "lemon" in my mind.

Does not use the original component that failed, a new and improved type is being used in its place according to the technician.

1995 chevrolet luminas apparently have a known transmission defect which causes the torque converter to lock up at very low speeds, causing jerky & uneven shifting. When decelerating the torque converter fails to unlock, dragging down the rpm of the engine to very low levels when decelerating. The transmission shop i went to in order to diagnose the problem advised me that this was a known defect from chevrolet, who had issued a tsb concerning the problem. The transmission shop advised me that the repair was over $1,000 and that if i did not have the repair done the vehicle could stall when decelerating suddenly, possibly leading to loss of control of the vehicle. With my car this is an intermittent problem, i have not as of yet repaired the transmission. When i called the dealer i was advised that there was no factory correction for the problem and all service would be feeable. I owned a 93 lumina, which i had the transmission rebuilt 2 times, due to complete failure. Now i own a 95 lumina, which i had to replace the transmission with a brand new one due to major failure. The computer and map sensor failed, requiring replacement by the dealer. Chevrolet can do better than this.

Vehicle experienced sudden loss of power while travelling 30 mph uphill. Investigation revealed that all gear selections except park acted like neutral. Vehicle would roll if brake not applied. Dealer (other than where vehicle purchased) examined vehicle and found that the input housing was cracked. Transmission required to be rebuilt / replaced; cost of $2000.00. Certified gm transmission received and installed then found to be defective. 2nd replacement transmission ordered and is in the process of being installed. Contact with gm indicated since transmission past warranty period, they could not help.

The parking shift lock lever from the steering wheel column is not working appropriate, which caused an accident. The gear can release from parking to reverse,neutral or drive gear at the touch of a finger. A child accidentally touched gear when the accident occurred.
Consumer's son who is four years old was able to shift gear from park into reverse, car rolled down the driveway about 90 feet, son was able to turn the steering wheel at a right angle. Vehicle traveled 50 feet from this point into the woods before stopping without crashing. There was no key in the ignition when this happened. The problem has not been corrected.

Left ball joint fell apart while leaving parking lot.then wheel wedged into tire well and bent body metal.this also caused the axle shaft to come apart.if this happened on a highway, it could have caused a serious accident.

When the wheel problem occured i first thought i had a low tire.i stopped and checked all my tires at a sevice station.they were not low and there was no indication that the lugs were loose.when i was almost home, the wheel problem became worse i slowed down and got home.i called a wrecker driver he had to back it up to put it on the wrecker. He said it was in the wheel but did not say the lugs were loose.i heard metal clanking.on the car central recall list the ball bearing can fail and cause the lugs to loosen according to a consumer complaint on your web site.why was this not repaired before i got the car. My daughter was involved in a fatal auto accident. She was the rear passenger of a chevorlet 1995 lumina. She had on her seat belt. Her girlfriend also in the rear, distracted the driver who lost control of the car and hit a telephone pole. My daughter received a fatal blow to the head, liver lacerations , fractured ribs, and seat belt contusions. She remained in a coma for nine days before passing away. The girl who did not have her seat belt survived with only minor abrasions. The other two front seat driver and passenger received only minor abrasions.the car exploded into flames.

Front brakes make a grinding, sqealing noise when backing.
On a road test for a customer i lost the brakes, as it developed a hard pedal without power assist. The condition was intermittent. Upon investigation i discovered the vacuum hose from the back of the intake to the power booster was softened with oil contamination and had begun to collapse cutting off vac to the booster. I installed a new hose assembly but this came out of nowhere and could cause problems for any driver at any time. The vehicle was a 1995 chevy lumina 3.4 v6. Clearance is very tight where the hose runs. I think gm should go to a hard hose instead of a performed rubber hose. The engine was not leaking oil. This failure was heat an normal wear. Being these cars are 10 years old they are starting to fail. I suspect every vehicle with the 3.4 l engine will have this same problem not just the lumina.

6/11/99 oil running out of engine..intake manifold gasket failure. Replaced.11/9/99 low coolant lamp on. Coolant in water pump. Pump replaced. Low coolant light on..pressure tested. 1. Battery failed to turn engine over 3 differnt times in one day. Turn the key and it just clicks. Towed it to a dealer. The dealer says the battery failed load test. Relaced battery.2. A rubbing noise is heard from the rear when turning. Dealer found rear stabilizer bushing on rr strut out of position. Rr stabilizer shaft to position properly.3. I installed a new hose assembly but this came out of nowhere and could cause problems for any driver at any time. The vehicle was a 1995 chevy lumina 3.4 v6. Clearance is very tight where the hose runs. I think gm should go to a hard hose instead of a performed rubber hose. The engine was not leaking oil. This failure was heat an normal wear. Being these cars are 10 years old they are starting to fail. I suspect every vehicle with the 3.4 l engine will have this same problem not just the lumina.
The engine backfired and blew off the power hose to the vaccum system, and that resulted in a very fast rpm (2000), andloss of power brakes. The hose does not have a clip and that causes the problem on the vehicle. This happens to all 95-98 luminas.
Consumer experienced brake failure when pulling out of a gas station . Consumer stated when he took vehicle in to dealer he was advised that power booster vacuum hose had came off.
Hose fromintake manifold topower booster brake & master cylinder keeps popping out easily due tobeing clamped at one end & not atother end. Vehicle would then start to accelerate.
Steering wheel made clicking sound when trying to turn wheel became hard to steer as if no power steering and air bag light came on. Turned out to be the air bag coil - which had an exposed circuit. Noticed many technical service bulletins of this nature about the clicking in the steering wheel. Do not know if air bag was involved with the techinical service bulletins or other complaints. Could have been a very serious incedent if this occurred while driving the vehicle. So happens that it occurred while pulling out of a parking space at a chevrolet dealership after just having the abs system repaired.
While driving made a slight turn and lost steering power. Steering got very hard to handle as if the fluid was gone.

It was taken again for same problem and the mechanic said the a/c compressor was overheating it.it was replaced, but that wasn't the problem because it overheated again.the last time it was taken an oil change was done and checked for overheating problem due to spouse taking sick daughter to see a doctor in los angeles.the dealer said it was fine and okay to take to los angeles.the vehicle overheated during the trip and the a/c was not used once due to cold weather. The vehicle was taken to chevrolet dealer in los angeles.the mechanic said the oil was contaminated with coolant and the dealer in las vegas should have noticed it.the head gasket and other related parts and fluids were replaced at my expense $1790.i complained to the manufacturer and first they offered $200+.i said not enough, so they offered $400.i said it didn't even cover the a/c compressor that was good and not the problem, not to mention the money i spent on car rentals when my car was waiting to be seen by a mechanic.it was negligence on the las vegas dealer that my daughter had to suffer in pain on the side of the highway.as for the power steering pump and hose.i beleive they broke something when trying to repair the overheating problem.the power door lock never really worked since i got the vehicle and the radio always got very hot which could lead to an electrical fire.i beleive this vehicle should have a recall on the engine and electrical system especially when i was shocked that other owners had the same problems.

Wheneverengine starts up the doors would lock. Doors fail to open when engine is shut off. Also, when the remote keyless entry is in use,the key fails to unlock the door.

This is not a safety defect, however, it is a factory defect.at 33,731 miles, paint started bubbling, cracking, and peeling off this gm car during the first week of october (on or about 10/07/99).when presented with this delamination complaint (paint peeling down to a greenish/grayish colored primer surface), the dealership and the manufacturer would not admit that a delamination problem existed and denied my complaint claiming "they did not have a problem with white paint...white paint is as good as gold" (i explained that the color is not the problem...it is the application/product of primer/sealant at the factory) then they claimed my problem was due to a"repaint"which is not true.when i provided a mill gauge reading of 4 (proof of factory virgin paint), i was then denied claiming "3yr/36,000miles out of warranty"...later, they called and offered 50% (because they could not prove the paint was not virgin), and now 75% participation by the dealership/manufacturer (which they are now trying to decline) the dealership/manufacturer will not participate 100% to repair/correct this factory defect.they want me to pay 25% to correct their factory defect. I have maintained this car on a regular basis and, except for the delamination problem, the car is in excellent condition.i have also maintained low mileage.i paid 100% for a defective finish when i purchased this gm car new (understanding at the time that i was purchasing a non-defective factory finish), why won't they pay 100% now to correct their factory defect (strip all surfaces down to the bare metal and refinish to meet or exceed a non-defective factory finish)?as an apology for the way they have treated me and my complaint without care, they should provide me with a comparable loaner car at no cost to me while repairing their factory defective finish.thank you for your time in reading my compaint.anyassistance you can provide is appreciated.sincerely,linda j. The paint on my 1995 chevy lumina is peeling. It started with the paint bubbling and then it started peeling within 3 months time. My car which was painted white by the manufacturer has now lost 75% of the paint.
I have a 1995 black lumina. The clear coat and the paint is peeling off. It has ran hot ever since i bought it. I have had the thermostat changed and radiator flushed.i have to keep the heat on low even in the summer to keep it from over heating!the brakes need adjusted or replaced on a continues basis. While driving on the highway about 60 mphvehiclesuddenly accelerated without a reason, consumer had contacted the dealer.

Lack of heat (to defrost windshield, restricting visiblity), low coolant light coming on, all the result of a faulty valve which also causes the car to register that it's overheating. Engine light coming on due to a faulty sensor. Emergency blinkers are broken. Grinding noise coming from front passenger wheel well.
Help my car is falling apart and the dealer wants huge sums to fix these problems some of which i believe are defects.$500 for a defroster switch-ouch, power locks failed, alternator failed, consumes 1 qt of oil every 800 miles, stalls at start in am. Can i get help from gm on these items ? your help is appreciated

Fraudulent repairs done by gmt automotive in schaumburg, il have made the vehicle inoperable and a safety hazard.complaint has been filed with the better business bureau and the attorney general with no results.i cannot afford a lawyer because i spent $2,500.00 trying to fix a car that had nothing wrong with until gmt automotive performed a routine oil change.i have a file with all necessary paperwork to back up my statements.is there anything you can do to help me?i've already lost my car due to gmt automotive's fraudulent behavior.i just want my money back so i can buy a new car.

Heater core has been replaced five times in a one year period.when the core fails, it sprays a mist over the windshield.the windshield is fogged over so quickly making it difficult to see.also concerned about the effects of inhaling antifreeze.the leak starts slowly, not sure how long passengers are exposed.
Heater core failed, causing the windshield to fog up instantly, limiting visibility severely. During first incident driver was traveling on rt 17 and was able to pull over to the side of the road safely. At second incident the driver was driving to work and was lucky enough to have tissues so he/she and clear the windshield. And the most current incident happened while going up a steep hill.

At first fan, heater, air conditioner failure, was told that it was the fan switch. Second failure, the switch was burned out and a short in the wiring harness was found and repaired.third failure, dealer said wiring harness needed replacing because it more than just an isolated problem. He disconnected the switch completely and informed me that there would be no blower.initially, the blower did not work now the blower works but the interior light does not come on when doors are opened but can be turned on manually.

This car has been a source of continual problems since purchase. I have had door locks break, 2 power window motors go, transmission line leaks, and a rust problem on inside corners of the rear doors, that chevrolet (the corp). Refused to fix. It has been a "lemon" in my mind.

Difficulty seeing through windshield due to glare.
While vehicle was parked, ignition was off, doors locked, both air bags deployed and messed up dashbroad and windshield was busted.
There are (2) cracks extending across windshield affecting drivers vision at eye level. Owner states dashboard/moulding is causing it to warp.
While driving 40 to 45mphvehicle hit a deer andwindshield shattered into small pieces, all over the consumer. Dealer has not seen vehicle.

In the middle of operation the windshield wipers stop working. Sometimes the wipers will not come on for 3-4 hours after they stop working. The next day the wipers will come on without any kind of problem. Chevrolet is aware of the problem. The problem has not been corrected.

The plastic nuts that are holding the hup caps are cracking,make a loud noise while driving the vehicle.took the vehicle to the dealer they fixed it.consumer then states that it started cracking again and making the noise.took vehicle back to the dealer they said it was nothing they could do about it.
When the wheel problem occured i first thought i had a low tire.i stopped and checked all my tires at a sevice station.they were not low and there was no indication that the lugs were loose.when i was almost home, the wheel problem became worse i slowed down and got home.i called a wrecker driver he had to back it up to put it on the wrecker. He said it was in the wheel but did not say the lugs were loose.i heard metal clanking.on the car central recall list the ball bearing can fail and cause the lugs to loosen according to a consumer complaint on your web site.why was this not repaired before i got the car. There is a recall on this.why did the dealer not know about the recall?what good is recalls if the dealers and car makers are not notifyng people about them? i have a gm warranty that i paid 600.00 for they would not pay on this.this could have been serious had i been going faster.at beatty chevrolet they tried to say i had let the lugs get loose.it happened to fast for the lugs to have been loose when i bought it at interstate motors.consumer laws have got to be enforced.american lives depend on this.thank youfor your time and effort on this matter.margaret west.
