The transmission case cracked twice once at 72,000 and again at 140,000both times mechanics said they had never seen a problem like this.

The 4-wd actuator failed to work properly in cold or warm weather. The problem was intermittent, but currently constant.also, windshield wiper motor failed to work. Would stop without warning 11/1/99. This caused difficulty for the driver to see while driving. Had taken vehicle to dealership & mechanic repaired the 4-wd actuator & wiper motor.

This vehicle is equipped with seat belts incompatible with the seat height.the lap belt portion exits the retractor assembly at an extreme angle thus causing excess wear in both the belt fabric and the retractor cover.the belt also becomes entrapped in the slit cut in the belt retractor so it won't retract and becomes entangled in the door as it's closed.due to this design flaw all the available replacement drivers side parts have been consumed and no redesigned parts have been produced.even if the replacement part were available it too would soon become worn to the point of questionable serviceability within a fairly short time.i contacted chevrolet and was given reference # 71-1330000620.the representative contacted the local dealer who confirmed parts no longer available.the representative refused to open an investigation into the matter simply stating parts don't last forever.there are thousands of these pickups still on the road and any of them driven by tall drivers with the seat fully back will have the same wear pattern.i tried getting the part from salvage sources and found all compatible parts were either sold or in the same condition as my worn part.i did make a modification to the seat belt retractor housing with some diagonal cutters to alleviate the belt becoming entrapped in the slit but the belt is worn beyond safe limits and since the exit angle is still incorrect the wear will continue despite the cover modification.i agree parts don't last forever but a poor design rapidly accelerates their failure and puts thousands in jeopardy, especially in locations that don't have a vehicle inspection program in place.
Passenger seatbelt system does not come out of the housing. Cannot use seatbelt at all which won't protectoccupant in event of a crash.manufacturer is willing to pay half of the cost.please provide further information.

Cross member on drivers seat failed at the seat slider attachment point and caused severe pitching of the seat due to a multiple cracks in the blind nut weld.

While braking the driver's side bucket seat broke at the left front mounting bolt/frame bracket under the seat.this caused the seat to have free movement in a rocking type motion while traveling/braking, and accelerating.seats' free movement feels unsafe, as if just a matter of time until the entire base mount gives way.
My drivers seat had a little "play'" or rock in the base from the time i bought it until the base broke off. One of the mounting bolts sheared off on the front left corner of the base, allowing the seat to tip backward if you leaned back in it. It broke next to a weld in the corner of the base probably from heat stress and the constant play in the seat going back and forth.the dealer ordered me a new base frame which nowcosts over $220. Plus 2 hours of labor to install it. I pleaded my case that a seat should last longer than less than 4 years and 33k miles but it went nowhere. I also called gm and told them they were lucky that i wasn't going down the interstate at 65 and have the base fail and me laying in the backseat trying to drive! they said they wouldn't cover the replacement because they don't have a "history" of thishappening. Strangely enough the guy who put the new base in said it was "stronger than the original" which make me think they know they have a problem, but don't want to pay for it. Even on your own website i found a 1995 truck like mine with the same problem.... Nhtsa action # ea90723, openedon oct 31, 1997 and the summary was driver seat failure. I myself weigh under 200 # so it isn't like it failed under abuse. I e-mailed gm and also called the 800# but they act like no big deal, as long as i pay for it which i already did. My passenger side seat which has maybe 1k miles logged in it also has slop or play in it and i 'm afraid it will also fail at a later date at another $320. Cost to me. Then had he brake system checked and another locationand found that pump pressure to all 4 wheels was equal, but abs light comes on when started, but will reset w/ disconnection of the battery and/or fuse.

Right front brake rotor separated during a low speed stop. This was a composite style brake rotor that failed for no visible reason. If this failure had happened during a high speed stop loss of control would most likely have happened.*la
Front left brake rotor broke loose from hub, resulting in loss of brake power onleft, andcaused vehicle to swerve to right. Gmc has issued a tsb onproblem. Dealer will be notified. The friction surface ring broke loose from the hub, an annular fracture of the rotor, chevrolet declined any customer assistance.

The contact owns a 1995 chevrolet k1500. The contact stated that the front and rear brake lines failed. The dealer was unable to provide a reason for the failure. There was a recall on the 1995 chevy blazer and certain 1994-1996 c-k trucks,tahoes and suburbans for a windshield wiper problem,i had a 1995 blazer, and i also have a 1995 truck. I took the blazer in for repair which they fixed. Now my truck is doing the very same thing,which is, sometimes when i turn on the wipers, they work intermittently or not at all. This is a serious problem when i'm going 65 mph in the rain. I called chevrolet customer assistance only to find out my truck is not on the recall list, but i assure you it should be, because it is unsafe.
This is a known problem and a recall has been made (mfg. Campaign # 98043) my vehicle's vin # does not fall under this particular recall but has identical problem and vehicle description on this recall is an identical match to my vehicle. (95 chevy p/u 4wd) i contacted chevrolet and because my vin # did not match current recall, they would not help me.i feel this isa known problem and certain vehicles were left out of the recall that should have been included.
