Tried to start car. Cold morning right after 1st snowfall for the winter. Put key in ignition, turned to start and let go as i always do. Engine turned over but did not catch. Did this for over an hour (and yes i did not push the accelerator), had my neighbor try to jump car. Still would not start. Had car towed to shop. Lost a whole day of work. Mechanic put car on diagnostic nothing wrong. Still not starting. Suggested it was the security feature, left key in the on position for 30 mins car started. For the whole month of nov & dec 2013 i had to sit in my car for the 30 and sometimes longer with key in on position in order to get car started. I was late to work numerous times because of this. In january 2014, no longer leaving key in on position worked anymore i was reduced to spraying starter fluid in the engine to get car to catch. In february 2014 car started to hesitate while driving. Took to mechanic again and again nothing showing up on diagnostic except for oil sensor replacement. Replaced. Continued to have starting problems and hesitation while driving. In may 2014 had to get car towed to mechanic again. Lost another day of work. Mechanic suggested replacing alternator. Which i did, still no improvement. Now car is shutting off while i am driving. It has shut off 3times in an intersection after accelerating at stop light. Has shut off twice today while i was going between 40-50mpg had to maneuver car without speed or steering control to emergency lanes. I was fortunate that the other drivers were courteous and observant.at this point i am afraid i am going to die in this car. This is a 2005 impala.

I was speeding up from being stopped at a stop light when my check engine light, service traction system and service stabilitrak lights came on. Drove straight home and parked my car.## vin failed ## chevy impala ##
