I went to start my carthe key was immediately "locked" inside the ignition ..locking everything in the car up, from the brakes to the electrical . You should be able to turn it 4x (a,b,c,d(on) it would not let you go past c.the key would not come out,i had it jumped in order to get the key out .i thought for sure it had to do with the ignition switch being recalled, but no hall chevrolet said it was just the battery.so when your battery goes bad, it is normal for the key to be lockedalmost "eaten" by the ignition.there was no warning it was the battery, nothing. I have only owned the car 29 days.i really thought it was the ignition switch but dealership says no battery?

When starting to move forward from a stopped position and turning the steering wheel at the same time, the abs sensor kicks in and the car makes the abs sound, the abs lights up on the dashand then it releases and you can drive normal. It has occurred many times now between 1 to 5 miles per hour. I do not see any recalls at this time for this problem.

The abs, traction control, brake assist and stabilitrak warning lights come on intermittently while driving. A grinding noise can be heard coming from the front-left wheel. This usually occurs while accelerating from a dead stop or making left turns from a dead stop. I have gotten both hubs replaced and it still is happening.

2013 chevrolet impala.consumer writes in regards to ignition switch recall issues.consumer sent additional correspondence.the consumer stated all the dealer did was change the factory issued key so he could not put additional keys on the ring and replaced the larger key ring, with a smaller one. At roughly 26,000 miles my abs, stabilitrac, and traction control lights came on. I took my car to dealership to repair ignition recall, they replaced the abs wire harness and corrected the the problem. At roughly 56,000 and 86,000 the abs, stabilitrac, and traction control lights came back on. I am carrying my car back into the dealership again tomorrow for the 3rd time for the same issue. My car is now decelerating on its own and the wheels are abruptly locking. The car is moving during all of these incidents. My car has begun flashing abs, stabilitrac, and traction control lights and abruptly decelerating on its own at 60/75 miles per hour.

2013 chevrolet impala: a week ago my passenger window(backseat) i rolled it down with the driver side but could only roll it back up with the oringnal door ( right side back door) and now my break lights stay on i have to unplug battery to cut everything off because it will not go off any other way i turned car completely off and also turn lights off instead of auto and still they remain on

Right side no longer gets heat and actuator has gone bad car ticks the passenger airbag light does not show on the seat belt indicator for passenger does not go out

Car loses power and stabilitrak warning come on while driving no engine power at all .check engine light come on and stays on till i shut off engine and turn back on only then engine light disappears my car only has 37,000 miles and is 3 year oldits happen on the highwaythree time and in the parking lot of my work twice now.

It keeps saying on the odometer electricstability control or trackand lower the power.my car was on motion on a city street with cars all around us. I've read that several people were having trouble with the same thing. Why don't they recall

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While driving at any speed, the service stabilitrac, service brake assist, traction control, and abs warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the hub assembly and speed sensor circuit wire harness were repaired; however, the failure recurred constantly. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. Hard popping in the dashboard.... I know 3 other people that have had the same problem.... Is this not means for a recall.... Just cost me 1000 dollars. With a warranty so why isn't this covered in a bumper to bumper warranty?

The wire harness that controls the left front abs and stabilitrak broke causing the abs to engage on it's own while driving on the highway. After reading online it is apparent that this is a common problem with the impala that even has a tsb for the problem. This is a extremely dangerous issue that should be recalled. I have attached a picture of the broken harness along with the $272.94 bill for having the dealer repair it.

I've had my 2013 lt impala for 39 months i am currently financing this vehicle however the actuators i keep repeating and they keep going out constantly and the repairs are very expensive i've replaced these multiple times and after a month it does the problem again which ended up draining my battery each time. I have replaced my battery for a brand new one and everything was fine i got the problem of all 3 actuator fixed and here we are now and my vehicle is dead the battery was drained because the actuators keep going out and the ticking noise never stops and it goes even when i'm not present in the car and random times throughout the night without the key in the ignition*dt

My rear defrost stopped working one day so i inspected the harness for rear defrost and i noticed it was burnt up andmelted and i am not the only one who has experirnced this issue. Lots of other impala owners have the same problem. I cslled the dealer and asked if this was a recall and they said no this is a saftey hazard to me and plenty of other motorists.

My car basically just cuts off on me while driving all kinds of signs keep popping up on the dash then they'll go away. It has told be to service my stability track and i went to get service and the people say that's not a problem and they have but it on the machine and it says there is no problem i just don't know all i do know is when i'm driving it cuts off and then some times when i'm driving the engine power gets reduced then i can't go over like 20 it did this while i was on the highway i thank god i didn't get hit!

"takata recall"i purchased a 2013 chevrolet impala 02/2015. One month later my car stopped in me. I got the car towed to serra chevrolet. They said i was out of gas which i didn't believe cause i was at qtr of tank. They said with the kind of engine i had qtr of a tank meant empty in my car. I didn't believe this. In 02/2016, on my way to work, my car stop on the interstate. I got the car towed to serra chevrolet again. They said my fuel pump sensor and something else was gone. They used my extended warranty that i purchased w/ serra toyota when i bought the vehicle. I lost my job due to this problem with this car. In 02/2017, the car stopped on me again. I got the car towed again to serra on 02/03/17. They said it was my fuel pump sensor. I had to pay $420.21 out of pocket on 02/09 to get my car. They said my extended warranty had expired. I don't understand cause my powertrain warranty haven't expired, i'm also still paying for an extended warranty with my carnote but i can't utilize, and i only used the extended warranty once. On 02/13/17 after i got my car from serra my car stop while i was driving again. I contacted serra. They paid for towing but i had to pay for an emc, which was $329.18. At the time, my car had 86,078 miles. On 4/28/2017, i don't know what they said was wrong but i paid $1,131.25 on 05/15/2017. I don't think they knew what was wrong. On 05/24/2017, my car messed up again, and i had to pay $133.00. Serra gave me a $32.95 discount cause i've had to spend so much money. At this time, i have 90668 miles on my car. On 06/21 or 27th, my serpintine belt broke and i had to pay $468. To hendrix chevrolet. That was the closest chevy store where my car stopped. Now 7/18/17 my car is back in the shop at serra. They say my crankshaft and something with my motor. My car have 93,586 miles. I was sold a lemon from serra toyota. I have paid $2,481 since.

When accelerating from stopped position, especially when turning to either side, experienced a grinding noise, loss of power, dimming lights, and abs light coming on. Grinding noise comes from lower engine area in front of vehicle.repeated occurrences are becoming more frequent.not known what the problem is, but appears to be tied to abs/electrical system.postings of similar situations have appeared in various websites dealing with frequent problems of specific vehicles.gm dealer charged me diagnosis fee, but found nothing.gm dealer said in order to find the problem i would have to bring car in when abs light was on.i am concerned that i am due for a significant failure before dealer finds the problem, or acknowledges same.although i reference one date of occurrence, this problem has been happening for 6 months with increasing events as of late.

Actuator fails under dash causing a/c to fail in the arizona desert.this is the 4 or 5th-time chevrolet has replaced under my extended warranty and they claim it is a common problem with no recall as it is not safety related.a/c failure in the arizona desert is definatly a safty issue.

Service abs/stabilitrack is displaying often. Grinding noise, decreased power and car will nearly stop on you from time to time, particularly when turning. Taken to dealership, more than once, they get no codes on diagnostic. I believe this is a wiring issue. However, this defect is found in many years of the same make of vehicle. At times when turning, the stopping of the vehicle could harm or kill me or my family. There is bound to be lawsuits if this is not recalled. A search online produces hundreds with the same issue.

My 2013 chevrolet impala's electrical system failed.there were no lights, radio, air conditioner, gauge lights, power steering or power brakes.the engine remained running as did the transmission. This lasted about five minutes.(there are no places to stop on our roads.) the first light to come on was the warning about loss of stabilitrac and the second was about air bags, the third was about uneven tire pressure. Eventually the gauge lights, air conditioner and radio came on followed by the power steering and brakes.i turned it off in park and then turned it on again. The stabilitrac and air bag warnings were still on, but the rest of the lighting and electrical seemed to be working. Eventually the stabilitrac and air bag warnings stopped. The next day everything came on as normal. The airbag for the passenger seat never is on since i bought it in january.

Ignition sticks in the 'start' position & has to manually be turned to the 'run' position.new ignition had to be installed.

Wiring harness is defective and friction causes electrical misfires that affect the entire vehicle, from deacceleration while driving to not being able to turn over the engine to start.i've been dealing with this issue for over 4 years and gm nor any safety commission will do anything in terms of a recall.this complaint is the only recourse that i have in order to notify public of the issue.this is extremely concerning as it can cause safety hazard on road.

Upon using the key fob to lock or unlock doors, or just opening an unlocked door, a loud clicking sounds starts from under the dash and can last for a couple of minutes and shift side from drive side to passenger side and back.the a/c nor heat works while the clicking sound is made. When you change setting from a/c to heat, the clicking sound starts again. Initially, after the clicking sound stopped, the a/c and/or heat worked for driver and passenger sides.now, at times, neither the a/c nor heat works.if either works, it is only one side and it shifts as to which side works. Both sides no longerwork at once. Driver and passenger have separate a/c and heat controls. This happens when the car is off and there is not a key in the ignition. Also happens when car is on, while in drive and in park, stationary, moving, turning, stopped, etc.always makes the clicking sound when unlocking and locking doors. Not fob related because clicking sound happens when manually unlocking and locking doors. This happens when the key is not in the ignition.(other impala owners have told me they are having the same issue) the clicking soundstarted about 3 years ago and would happen occasionally.now it happens every day, each time the door opens and after turning the car off.if we are unsure if doors are locked and use the key fob to lock, the clicking starts again.

When i back-up i hear a grinding noise thenthe abs and service stabilitrace warning indicators illuminates red on the dashboard; this is the second time happing to this car the first the dealer repaired that was about 30,000 miles ago replaced the wheel bearings, worked for a while.

When steering wheel is turned left and now right the front end grinds at times but not all the time. However, it seems to be getting gradually worse, grinding more often. The "service stabilitrac system" comes across the dash panel and now it is stating "service brake assist". All the while nothing seems to be wrong with anything up front. This happens upon acceleration. This can happen in city streets, parking lots and freeways. I happens anywhere upon acceleration.there is no point at which the grinding is taking place can be seen.this seems to be a problem that chevrolet has with all the models of this particular vehicle yet they are denying anything is wrong with the vehicles.

Last year i took my car to chevy and they told me that nothing was wrong and that they can not replicate the grinding noise or see the stabilitrak light on. A year later and it is grinding more and the stabilitrak light stays on. Is there a recall for this? i have kept my car up on tune ups and oil changes, but this stabilitrak issue is getting more and more annoying each day and that grinding noise does not sound good after i was told it was nothing to worry about.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While driving 65 mph, the stabilitrac control, service traction control, esc, and engine warning indicators illuminated. The cruise control light turned off and, while depressing the brake pedal, there was a clicking noise coming from the glove compartment. In addition, when the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000.

While on the freeway the service stability traction light came on and i begin to loose power itried pushing the off button after a few miles it went back to normal and the next day it happened again so i pulled to the side of the road and turned the car off hoping to reset it but the car would not start back up.i've had my starter checked, my battery, my alternator all those came out fine but the car won't start and the mechanics are saying they haven't seen anything like this before that the traction system will keep the car from starting. Also prior to this i would hear a throotling sound as well to me it sounded like a tire was loose so k even had that checked but i believe it's connected to this traction light that came own before the car was turned off.

Was traveling along and i think i had just completed a left hand turn when the car dinged. I looked at the dash and three messages popped up, "service stabilitrak", "service brake assist", "service traction control" and the abs light comes on and the traction off light shows up. Happens quite frequently have had it fixed at least once on this vehicle and also on my 2012 impala before it was totaled.

Get abs, traction control, stable stability sensors on. In motion and when sitting still. Resets but comes right back on.

Stable control and abs light comes in when i star on wet payment i hearnoticeand slight vibration, but light goes offand on at various times, noy log enough for dealer to check it out

My vehicle has 66,000 miles on it.i am taking it in for the 3rd time due to the service stabilitrak and service abs warning.the car makes a grinding noise in the front end when turning (usually left) or when shifting from reverse to drive.the front speed control hub has been replaced twice to supposedly correct his problem.however, since it is happening again, i am relatively certain that the hub will need to be replaced a third time.that is unacceptable in a vehicle with only 66,000 miles on it.

Grinding noise from front and abs engages the brakes and low traction light flashes on when accelerating from a stop and turning left at the same time, does not matter if you accelerate slow or fast and this is happening on dry pavement. If i turn off the traction control it will not do it, so i assume the problem must exist in a speed sensor or something with the traction control sensors or wiring.of course mechanics cannot duplicate this.waiting for gm to step up to the plate and fix.

It keeps saying on the odometer electricstability control or trackand lower the power.my car was on motion on a city street with cars all around us. I've read that several people were having trouble with the same thing. Why don't they recall

The abs, traction control, brake assist and stabilitrak warning lights come on intermittently while driving. A grinding noise can be heard coming from the front-left wheel. This usually occurs while accelerating from a dead stop or making left and/or right turns from a dead stop.

While driving and usually making hard turn and braking the service stabilitrak, traction control, brake assist messages appear all at the same time and the abs light turned on. Had diagnostics checked on it and found code for front right wheel bearing and possible abs sensor. Had the wheel bearing and hub assembly replaced by professional auto repair shop. Drove home and as returning home, made left turn and braked and felt the brakes slightly lock up. Hit gas and all lights and messages reappeared. Serviced at 87,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that the traction control warning light illuminated intermittently and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the stability control system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,000.

I purchased my vehicle on march 23 2019 .i have made several repairs to carbut the problem persists . If i'm at a stop and i proceed to drive and make a left my car will make a grinding noise and the traction control light will flashit makes it dangerous to join traffic safely . I looked online and several people have the same exact issue with their vehicles . Service traction control.service stabilitrak service brake assist will go on when i try to make a u turn . . ive replaced left driver side wheel hub with abs sensorreplaced tpms and had alignment done . I felt the tea admission is being affected by this issue . So i had it serviced as well . I feel chevy should do a recall immediately.

Bought my 2013 impala used but around 25000 miles started getting issues with turning left and accelerating. The traction control will engage and cause the car to hesitate. Big issue when trying to cross in front of oncoming traffic. Had into the dealer many times but they do not seem to know what the issue is. Twice i have had all the lights go off and power reduced while on the interstate. They have replaced the computer twice for that one. This might be my last chevy. 3/36 warranty is a joke anymore!

Wheels drag hesitate when pulling off from a parked position, has done this since about a month of purchasing this car from dealership.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that the electronic stability control warning indicator kept illuminating. While making left turns, the wheels on the vehicle made an abnormal noise and the speed reduced. It was difficult to accelerate each time the failure occurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer more than twice for various repairs, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000.

When accelerating from a stop while turning left, abs engages and brakes left front wheel creating a very dangerous situation stopping the car in intersections without warning. Service stabilitrak, service abs and service brake assist messages also appear on dashboard message center. All warning lights reset when vehicle is turned off, until a left turn is made while accelerating again, and the above issues occur again.

Ever since i bought my car in 2014 the traction control has fired intermittently when making left turns.it stopped for a while, so i didn't pay attention to it. Now recently it has started again and much worse.it now does it when i turn in either direction, going forward or reversing and the traction light will flash on driving straight as well.

I was pulling out on highway 59,car made a grinding noise as i turned left, traction stabilitrac and abs flashed, changed the wheel bearing and harness, stabilitrak still coming on noise is still there...car will lock up on you in traffic.i have custody of my grandkids and now have no way to take them to school...because my car with 43,300 miles on it is unsafe

Stability control needs service.estimated repair 251 miles after warranty expired was $270.00, and became $335.00. Certified letter sent to gm on nov 14receipt acknowledged by rep shanay, and verbally acknowledged bysame two days later when she called me. Waited six weeks more for written response & called today requesting same again to follow up with nhtsa. Refused and offered to send an e:mail but i prefer not to provide addressdue to herunfriendlymanner. Part failure 251 miles is one for the record books. Failure occurred while moving.

Brake and steering system defect.while driving the antilock brake light came on, also the traction control, stabili-trak, and brake assist lights started flashing. The car was being driven in downtown traffic at moderate speed. The vehicle was taken to a local dealership who said that this was not a safety problem (what!!!!)and that it was not covered under the drivetrain but only part of the 30k coverage. They then said it would be at least a week before they could look at the car. (brake and steering issues not a safety problem?) in doing some checking on the internet it appears that this is a serious and ongoing issue with cheverolet and gm vehicles for several years. In addition to the above problem there have been even more serious side effects associated with the brake, stability system. Some even reported to your department. It would be good if your department would be proactive and have this issue investigated by someone other than gm. Before there are fatalities associated with this issue.perhaps you could spend some time looking at the various forums on the web and see that there seems to be a major problem here.i doubt anything will be done but thank you for allowing me to vent. I am writing this to help my son out since it is his car, and he a) has a full load in college and b) he is a less happy camper than i am.

I have a 2013 impala, the traction control kicks in when making left turns from a stop. This is my third impala; 2003, 2009 and this 2013. All three with the same issue so this is my last impala. Hey gm, get your act together!

The abs traction control, brake assist and stability control warning light coming on intermittently while driving & making a left turn a grinding & slippage noise can be notice(very unsafe to drive). Had it checked and code reading left front hub, had both hubs replaced and still have problem! looks like many owners have the same problem, should be on a recall!

When starting from a standstill, the traction control system seems to kick in and the indicator light comes on.initial occurrences only seemed to happen when turning left from a standstill, but now it is occurring when turning either direction from a standstill.this is occurring at low speeds on both dry and wet pavement with very little acceleration (i.e., no tire slippage).

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While driving approximately 60 mph, the "service stabilitrack" message displayed on the message center. The vehicle lost acceleration, the rpms increased, and the vehicle surged forward. The contact stated that the failure occurred for approximately eight months. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 94,000.

Traction control activates while making left turn when leaving a stop or a red lightor at any other occasion that requires making a left turn after being stopped. Causing the vehicle to hesitate and in the process creating a very dangerous situation. This has occurred on five different occasions during the past few days. Has only occurred when turning left from a complete stop. There seems to be a metal sound the fourth time. Have tried to get it looked at and no one seems to know what to do. Very concerned about the safety of driving this car. Also done it once when i was backing out from a parked position.

My reduce engine power light, service stabilitrak light and abs light is on also check engine light.car will not go ove 30 to 40 mph. The car will reduce speed on the highway. And streets. I live in illinois. I've done tried everything. The car was in the shop for over a month cost me $1500 to fix every issues the mechanic thought was wrong and the car still have the same issues. I have even just recently brought a new gas cap because that light kept saying tighten. This can be really stressful. I dont think i will ever buy another chevy car again. As i research my issue just by typing in the problems without giving the make and model of car. I see all these problems are only with chevy vechiles.what do i do?

I was in motion on a 50 mph state road, when all of a sudden my dash started dinging and when i looked down it stated "service stabilitrac" , and "engine power reduced".my car suddenly went down to about 40 mph and would not go any faster.it appears chevy has had recalls for this issue, but not for my model year.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While accelerating from a stop position, a grinding noise was heard and the vehicle jerked. The abs, traction control/stabilitrak, and brake assist warning indicators illuminated. Also, a message warning of icy conditions appeared, but the weather was sunny and clear. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer several times where it was diagnosed with brake and hub bearingfailure. The brakes and hub bearings were replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 52,000.updated 08/22/2017

When turning the wheel to the left at low speeds (like when backing out of my driveway) the abs light comes on; the front left wheel makes a grinding noise in conjunction with the light blinking; there is an immediate loss of power, like the car is being held back by something. Same happens when turning, on a hill coming from a complete stop but this is random and not easily re-created. I've also noticed a wobble in the steering when taking bends on the highway at high speeds. It seems to have gotten worse since i took it in for service a few days ago.i've resorted to turning the traction control off before putting the car in drive and this seems to ameliorate the problem.took the vehicle in for service and demonstrated the problem to them and they agreed that it was obviously not performing as it should. They had a mechanic look at it and determine that there was nothing structurally wrong with any of the components that he could tell and that there were "no codes being thrown" - whatever that means. So they told me there is nothing they can do for me, it cannot be "fixed" because, according to gm there is nothing wrong with my car even though it is a demonstrable equipment failure. I should not have to turn off the traction control -a safety feature!- on my car to drive it without loosing power at the worst times. My car is a 2013 chevy impala ls with almost 15,500 miles on it.

Bought my 2013 chevy impala used with a little over 40 thousand miles, and within a week the abs light and traction control light come on when making a left hand turn from a complete stop/stationary position. Does it now daily on a regular basis and also makes a grinding noise when accelerating from a complete stop making left hand turns. Also causes the car to stall until i release the gas and has been extremely dangerous when trying to make left turns with traffic coming the opposite direction. It has also made the grinding noise and the dash lights up when backing out of the driveway.i have taken it to the dealership and it was kept for a day but they said they could not duplicate the problem. Seems to be what i keep reading from everyone else's complaint so either were all crazy or chevy doesn't want to deal with it until someone dies from this issue. I have to drive this car daily and i do not feel safe to drive it.this issue has always been caused when driving on residential and city streets never on the highway so far thank god. Have only had problems when having to turn onto the highway on ramp but does not do it on the actual highway. As of now this problem is unknown to me and "apparently" to gm as well.

The service stabilitrak/abs/brake control lights turn on and off incessantly regardless of whether i'm moving, turning, breaking, etc.it's seemingly completely random.every ime they do, the car dings, making the ride unbearable ("ding, ding, ding...ding, ding, ding" ad naseum).this happened before and i had the vehicle serviced under warranty, a little over 1.5 years ago.it's now happening again.countless reports on forums indicate that it's a very common issue with the wiring harness going to the hub assembly.gm should recall this.it's distracting, unsafe, and seemingly unfixable in the long term.this will be the second time i've fixed this in less than 50,000 miles driven.

When driving normally system panel will light up with service brake assist, service traction control, service stabilitrak. While turning traction control will automatically turn itself on and grind the wheels making turning difficult. When braking the brakes will not engage right away and abs light will come on.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while making a left turn from a stop, the service stabilitrak system and the abs warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that an unknown sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 59,000. The vin was unavailable.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. Shortly after the vehicle was repaired for a recall with the ignition switch, the stability, traction control, abs, and other warning lights randomly flashed. The failure progressed each time the vehicle was reversing and when making left and right turns. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 69,000.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced difficulty accelerating and made abnormal grinding noises during turns. The stabilitrak, abs, and service traction control warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

The traction and/or suspension causes the car to stall when turning. It is very dangerous because the car does not move and could cause the driver (and passengers) to be in an accident. Once the car gets in motion, it moves at an accelerated speed to catch up to what the normal speed would have been. This happens mainly on city streets as a result of turning. There have also been times the car was unable to be in motion when simply stopping at a stop sign and driving forward.

This is the second time this has happened in a year. The first time i was driving and the car just slowed down with service stabilitrak popping up on the dash. Took it to the dealership and had to pay 900 out of pocket to fix. Now just happened again this morning jan 6, 2017. Called chevrolet corporate office and they said this is something i willhave to continue to pay for out of pocket. This needs to be a recall.

Traction control applies random breaking while turning on residential streets

I've had my 2013 lt impala for 39 months i am currently financing this vehicle however the actuators i keep repeating and they keep going out constantly and the repairs are very expensive i've replaced these multiple times and after a month it does the problem again which ended up draining my battery each time. I have replaced my battery for a brand new one and everything was fine i got the problem of all 3 actuator fixed and here we are now and my vehicle is dead the battery was drained because the actuators keep going out and the ticking noise never stops and it goes even when i'm not present in the car and random times throughout the night without the key in the ignition*dt

First my service abs traction control lights came on and while making left turns a loud metal grinding noise happened and my traction control light flashed. I took it to my local mechanic he replaced the bearing and sensors which helped with the service lights but the grinding still happened. The noise and traction control light still continued while turning just not as much as before.the mechanic replaced the part twice!! took it to my mechanic again because of the grinding and traction control flashing he drove it around and he could not make the noise happen so he could not fix or replace anything. It feels like the abs is braking on its own for no reason while i drive my 2013 impala ltz. My mechanics can not find the problem and it seems neither can any impala owner or mechanic. But i'm 99% sure when i drive it tonight to visit friends i will hear a metal on metal grinding noise i just hope not while im on the freeway where i can get killed. It happens while driving coming from a stop or as simple as me backing out of my driveway.

My stabilitrack and abs keeps coming on and off. It does not matter if i am driving on a side stree or on the beltway. Beltway driving is dangerous and scary as the car seems like it is brakeing and then speeding up. Making turns it does the same and "jumps" when i use the brakes. This is all very dangerous situation and should be looked at asap. I has been happening for 5 months and the service people can not see any issues.

In 2016 i was driving to work when the check engine light, traction control light, abs light, service stabilitrack light and service brake assist light came on all at the same time. I took it to chevy dealer and they claimed my car was misfiring, along with the left wheel hub, and a tune up. Long story short, in three months i spent about $3000 on something that is continuing to happen. But the difference is now it feels like my brakes slip when the lights come on. And they come on and off and on and off..i could just have turned the car on and the lights are dinging.i tried to see if general motors will help me, and of course they cannot do anything. As i read through all of these complaints, it makes me feel less crazy since every time itake it to a shop the diagnostic machine doesn't pick up any codes. This needs to be a recall before someone gets hurt. And general motors needs to do better in making their consumers happier with their products.

My 2013 chevy impala is having big issues making left turns. There is a grinding sound and the car hesitates to accelerate. While these problrms occur i am getting warnings on the dash that say service traction control, service brake assist, and the abs light is on. Starting to not feel safe to be in this vehicle. Also had it checked twice by two different auto shops and they cant seem to find the problem.

When making a sharp left or right turn the one wheel wouldmake a popping or grinding noise. Had 37000 m7les on car. Took it to dealer 3 times before the instrument panel indicated traction control problem. They replacd both speed control harnesses. Cost $750. Tech stated i may get money back should there be a recall. To this date no recall.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while making a turn at 15 mph, the stabilitrak, abs, and the traction control illuminated intermittently. In addition, the contact stated that the steering wheel jerked to the left. The failure occurred on two occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 6,600.

Driving at low speed 40miles or less pull up and stop to make turn and car makes a grinding noise and traction control light comes on. Stalls some before it will pull off. Took to dealership they could not reproduce issue so they stated they couldn't do anything. Left lot and it did it again.

My 2013 chevrolet impala had 28, 000 miles when it began making low tone grinding noises when turning left from a stop or at lower speeds. This has happened in reverse geara few times as well. The low pitch grinding sound has occurred while making a slow right hand turns a few times. The grinding noise occurs on both dry and wet pavement. Frequently a reduction in forward power occurs. Intermittent warning lights and messages occur intermittently: stability tack needs serviced, service traction control, and red abs light comes on.when driving in bumpy areas the red abs light comes on. When taking off on an up hill grade traction control rumbles and then i have a reduction in power as i try to accelerate making my forward motion slower than anticipated and placing me in danger.mechanic used an analyzer and said it was my left wheel sensor. He replaced the hub. My problem began again less than 15 minutes after driving out of the repair shop.none of this occurs when i manually turn off the stability control when i first start the car.(the button on the left hand side of the dashboard that has a drawing of the car and squiggly lines) very dangerous, annoying and costly situation.recall necessary!!!!!

When accelerating from a stop while turning left, abs engages and brakes left front wheel grinds which causes the car to stop and drag. Service stabilitrak, service abs and service brake assist messages also appear on dashboard message center. All warning lights reset when vehicle is turned off, until a left turn is made while accelerating again, and the above issues occur again.

Service stability track light turns on and off.car will lose some speed while driving for a second, like the abs kicks on when it isn't supposed to.had happened while driving 50 mph on the highway, car will lose some speed while the light indicating abs has activated for some reason.

When i turn my car on the abs light stays on, driving stability light stays on, and the emergency brake light stays on even if i have it disengaged.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While driving the vehicle at any speed and veering left, the tires spun and the instrument panel displayed the vehicle icon and "stability track service". The vehicle was driven to a mechanic, but was not diagnosed. The failure recurred multiple times. The approximate failure mileage was 34,700.

Electric stability controlgrinding noise from front and abs engages the brakes and low traction light flashes on when leaving a stop or a red light or at any other occasion that requires making a left turn after being stopped. Causing the vehicle to hesitate.

Traction control engages and light comes on and goes off and engine reduces power and abs pump comes on all at the same time. Occurs intermittent and only when it sits for a day and when you back out of a parking space and then put it in forward gear to go forward.haven't had it to a dealer yet but was told that if it wasn't showing a code that they would do anything about it. Car is a 2013 chevy impala ltz with 32000 miles.

I have only had this car for 3 months and everything was fine until i made a left hand u-turn and all kinds of bells went off- service stabilitrak-service brake assist- service traction control-i called the dealership and just to put it on the machine to see what's wrong is $126.00 - quite frankly i don't have that kind of money to spare- i am extremely frustrated and according to research i have done this is a common issue that chevrolet is not acknowledging-

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While making a right turn, the vehicle hesitated. In addition, the abs, traction control, and service stabilitrak warning lights illuminated.the failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000. Updated 05/24/16*ljthe consumer stated on may 2, 2016 as she was making a right turn, the accelerator seemed to jerk back and the rpm's went up past three,t hen went back down to one. All the instrument panel lights illuminated and then the vehicle hesitated to proceed for a few minutes. Updated 08/03/16.

2013 chevrolet impala. Consumer writes in regards to front end noise while traveling at a low speed. *ldthe consumer stated that the wheel bearing was replaced, but the failure continued.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 15 mph, the stability control warning light illuminated intermittently. In addition, the steering wheel vibrated causing the contact to lose control of the vehicle. On another occasion, the vehicle could not be shifted out of gear and the service brake warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,500.

Service stabilitrack warning indicator lights flash and beep while all guages go to zero and back while door locks are also engaging open and closed at all speeds. Has been almost on daily basis for the last few months. Before 6 months ago would only happen occasionally.vehicle will lose acceleration for a few seconds. . this will happen several times while driving consecutive almost 10-20 times in a row. Traction control and abs, brake assist will also have warning lights go off. Have had my car in 2 diffrent shops and spent almost $2000 and still no fix. . chevy needs to do a better job explaining what service stabilitrack consist of. Mechanics have no clear idea what to fix. Is there a recall on this system. Any help would be much appreciated. Chevy has no answers.

Traction control activates whilemakingleft turns when leaving a stop or a red light sign or at any occasion that requires making a left turn after being stopped. Causing the vehicle to hesitate and in the process creating a very dangerous situation.

12,000 miles stability control , and abs light came on service required.light stays on 5-10 minutes goes out randomly dealers baffled for the cause, dealer says unless they can duplicate it, warning light to come on they can't service.,i went for an oil change at midas they checked it said it was the wheel bearing sensor that governs that i replace the wheel bearing , okay for a while now back on again in less than a thousand miles.stability control is very valuable for cars nowadays so this is definitely a safety factor if stability control is lost.reports on the internet of people replacing all the wheel bearings on the front hubs and everything and still having the same problem so this is not an isolated incident.

After backing out of a parking spot, making a left hand turn and pulling away, the brakes apply on their own, the traction control light flashes on, and a grinding noise is heard.the weather at the time was clear and sunny, and the surface of the parking lot was dry asphalt.

There is a "known" issue with this vehicle, especially when turning left. The car will decelerate and traffic is a safety issue.i found the cause via google and needs to get addressed.the car will always display driver feedback on the dashboard.it simulates when driving through an icy patch. The car will not excel but rather decelerate.this happened to me just last week turning into payton manning children's hospital.

I have a chevy impala i bought it a year ago july 2016 my service traction control light, service sabilitrak , and service brake assist keeps blinking on and off while driving my brakes automatically contracts as if my car is trying to stop itself making me jerks and the car jerks reported it to my finance company that finance the car and the company that i bought the car from so it should be on record thank you for your time. P.s my car brakes contracts, jerks when i am driving on the street and on the freeway. My car brakes contract when i am driving in motion and when i'm turning after i come from a complete stop.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While driving 25 mph, the electronic stability control warning indicator illuminated. While attempting to make a right turn, the front driver's side wheel seized, and the contact's vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code. While test driving the vehicle, the mechanic experienced the failure. The contact was informed that the front driver's side wheel hub assembly, stabilizer bar, the front driver and passenger side tie rods, and brakes should be replaced to mitigate the failure. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

For the past 2 months my car is having major trouble. It started with me hearing a grinding noise when i made left turns. This has now developed to making a noise when i make left turns to making it when i am backing out, and occasionally stalling when pulling off from a red light. This has put me in some dangerous situations. About a month ago 2 light and 2 messages came up on my dash. They were service stabilitrak and service brake assist. My brake light and my traction light are also on. I took my car into the dealership and they said my hub needed to be replaced. I had the part replaced and i am still having the same problem. Noone seems to know what the issue is.

I started having problems with my vehicle back in may of this year after i received a warning message about the stabilitrak, abs, and traction control. I was hearing and feeling a scraping noise especially when i turned left.i took my car to the dealership and they replaced the speed sensor and harness. I thought that would take care of it. At the end of june i took my car back again for the same problem.of course the service tech could not duplicate the sound. Here we are less than 2 months later and i have taken the car back to the dealership once again this morning.i don't expect anything to be found because apparently this problem never comes up at the dealership and the techs can never duplicate it.our tech told us this morning that if they can't find anything again this time, then i willmost likely have to drive the car with the tech to see if i can duplicate it. I'm hoping this can finally be taken care of but because my car is still under warranty, i doubt anything will come of it. Once my warranty runs out i'm thinking the tech will be able to duplicate it and charge me a lot of $$ to fix it.

While drving at any speed the stability control system activated resulting in reduced power, left side noise from wheel and rumbling in the brake pedal. Took it to my local chevy shop and paid over 500 dollars to replace "gyro". Couple of weeks later had the same problem. Returned to the dealership and was told that my alternator was bad. Had it checked out and the alternator has no problems or codes when it was checked. The only codes that shows point to the stability control system!!!. Fustrated with chevy do to lack of concern. Considering the lemon law as a means of fixing the problem. This is my last chevy product!!!!!!

Upon turning left at an intersection, the vehical hesitates and makes a grinding noise in the front end. This has at times, come to a near accident of being rear ended.

Did come on until i started putting miles on it now the abs trackingcontrol lightstability light won't. Go off

After reversing, then when accelerating out to make a left turn, my car makes a grinding noise, i can feel it in my accelerator and i lose power, my traction control light goes on, sometimes my brake assist, abs, and stabiltrak lights come on too... If i back off and try again i can then accelerate out and proceed as normal, happens intermittently, hard to duplicate, makes me feel unsafe if i need to accelerate out of a turn then i will nothave the ability to do so. I want to take it in to see if it needs a repair, but by reading forums, many many people have had this same problem with the chevy impala and have paid hundreds of dollars to get different things fixed, and it doesn't solve the issue.started 3 weeks ago, and has happened many time in that 3 weeks.my car has about 85,000 miles on it.i use to love my impala, now just want to get rid of it.

Electronic stability control/ brake assist and abs light comes on at random times. Took to dealer and say nothing wrong with it had wheel bearing replaced and problem is back. Happens while in reverse

When making left turns the esc light flashes and makes a grinding noise and or warnings display to service brake, stability trak control.

The abs, traction control, brake assist and stabilititrak warning lights come on intermittently while driving. A grinding noise can be heard coming from the front-left wheel. This usually occurs while accelerating from a dead stop or making left turns from a dead stop. I have gotten both hubs replaced and it still is happening.

I was driving down the road with my child and my service stabilitract and abs light came on and when i went to turn all u heard was a grinding noise and the wheel like locked up and wouldn't let me turn until like 5 seconds later almost causing me and my kids to get hit into a really terrible wreck with cars coming at us at 55 mph

Passenger side low beam headlights goes out every two weeks. I have had everything done still stop working. Also abs system continues to light up and brakes act up .

While driving i hit the brakes. Then the stability light vame on. Along with brake assist and traction light. After this the car does not wanna reverse makes a horrible grinding noise. There is always something wrong with this car

Often when i accelerate my 2013 chevy impala especially when turning, the car will make a grinding noise and the vehicle will hesitate to accelerate and errors appear for stability track and abs. This occurs on both paved and sand roads and in any road condition. I took it in to my dealer and they replaced a censor (for about $300 bucks when it was all said and done.) which fixed the problem for about a week, now it's back and in many traffic situations, very dangerous. It stared at about 30k miles.

I just purchased my 2013 chevrolet impala ltz in the last 30 days.have driven less than 1500 miles. While highway driving, i received a service stabilitrak and a slight noise occurred while driving.gm customer care was closed at that time, however next morning the service warning was off...but i still followed up with gm.the customer care representative said most likely if the service warning went off - it was just a glitch.however, i was also able to confirm at that time that because i have the bumper to bumper warranty, it is a covered issue and i could still take it in to be looked at and any authorized gm dealer.now just to figure out where...

Traction control activates while making left turns when leaving a stop or a red light sign or at any occasion that requires making a left turn after being stopped. Causing the vehicle to hesitate and in the process creating a very dangerous situation.this has occurred on two occasions during the past few months.has only occurred when turning left from a complete stop.

Car makesgrinding noise on low speed left turns. Engine hesitates when making left hand turn from dead stop. Very dangerous .

When braking or turning a grinding sound similar to bad brakes (front brakes were redone less than 1 year ago) and the service stabilitrack, abs lights come on and periodically shut off. I've shut off traction control but it still engages when turning left occasionally causing reduced acceleration and danger to myself when crossing traffic. Vehicle at 95k miles but this happened before at around 50k miles and was repaired by dealer and partially covered by bumper to bumper warranty.

2013 chevy impala has stability control and traction control come on along with engine light.the car has 20,152 miles on it and this just started when it got cold but happens regularly now.i started warming up the car and thought that fixed the problem but it happened on a left turn after two hours of driving without incident until the left turn.

My stability and traction control is defective cause the car to go in traction mode while driving. I purchased the car in july and have been having this problem every since back and forth to the dealership. Read several reports with this particular problem with this car.

Traction control intermidely comes on affecting take off speed and steering resulting in abs system coming on.happens mainly when starting out form a stop.cannot accelerate from a complete stop or make consistent turns.

My car makes a grinding sound when i turn left and loses power, also today the service brake assist and the traction lights all came on when i was driving. I have read many things from many people about this certain problem and it is costly to get this fixed and i feel something should be done about this. This could be very dangerous trying to turn into traffic and having your car lose power.

I have a 2013 chevrolet impala--i have had multiple problems with; my dashboard lights up with service stablitrack, brake assist, traction control, and the abs light comes on while driving down the road.i have taken it to numerous places, that tested it, and was told no problem was found.it makes a grinding noise when in reverse; sometimes it doesn't want to accelerate, especially when it rains.also my passenger seat's, buckle up alarm, goes off when no one is sitting there and the front window always seems dirty, even after it's cleaned-inside and out.

I just purchased my vehicle 3 months ago and about 2 weeks ago, i've been having issues with traction control, abs and service stabilitrak. It seems i get this problem wheni just start my car and try to turn the wheel right, at low speeds it feels like it's grinding. This problem has happened a few times since then (not consistent) and every time it grinds i get a traction control light pop up. This problem is happening when there is no rain or snow on the road. I have done some research and it seems a lot of people are having the same issue with chevrolet impala's. I believe this should be recalled it is very dangerous!

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that the service electronic stabili-trac warning light flashed on the instrument panel and the vehicle jerked and shuddered with the accelerator pedal depressed. The failure also recurred while the vehicle was being reversed. Additionally, the vehicle vibrated and shuddered at speeds exceeding 55 mph. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. Neither the dealer nor manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 9,000.

2013 chevy impala with approximately 38860 miles. 3.31.2015 developed a grinding noise in the front end when turning sharp left, causes the car to hesitate, making it a very dangerous. Occurred a few times before the dealership opened. I took it into bowman chevy in clarkston they drove it & it didn't occur for them and they sent me on my way. It continued to happen, & with great concern for my safety i took it to a different dealership, joe lunghamer chevrolet in waterford. They did keep my car all day & gave me a invoice that states: npf operating to manufacturing specifications and multi-point inspection was done. They gave my car back & said they found nothing wrong. Sad to say general motors may be putting my life in danger, as they did many other people before recalling for the ignition control. At this time my car is close to 3000 miles over the bumper to bumper warranty, i believe they'd try harder if it was under 36000 miles. Both dealerships said the car would have to do the same thing for them to diagnose. Bowman chevy said the fees would start at $100 to diagnose, and go up & made it clear it could take up to a week or more to diagnose & to wait until it does it on a regular basis. I don't feel safe it's not even 3 years old and i'm still paying on. There are others complaints on this site the same as mine, along with different sites and impala forums that have the same complaints. My car continues to do this a couple of times a day but not enough for the service department at the dealership to experience. I want this filed so others know, my car is not safe.who has to die to have this checked out and recalled? again, 2013 impala - grinding noise when making sharp left and hesitates causing dangerous situation. Please forward this to [xxx] if you are able. Thank you for your help. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Service traction control, engine power reduced. Message came on at highway speed and cut engine power reducing speed to 25mph nearly causing an accident.throttle body needs to be replaced apparently a common problem over multiple years why was there no recall or at least a notification there could be a problem instead of letting someone's car shut down on the freeway with no warning?

I was driving on the interstate with the cruise control engaged when the vehicle displayed a message from the driver information center about traction control disengaged and stabilitrack needing service. Ses light also illuminated.took the vehicle in for service as soon as i could get an appointment, but by that time all lights had returned to normal.dealership was unable to replicate problem and nothing was done.

Stabiltrak abs traction control warning lights all come on vehicle shudders and power is reduced. Researched and found 100's of reports of the same issue with the impala and similar complaints in the light truck and suv models. Fix is relatively inexpensive if your mechanically / electrically inclined as involves splicing in a new wire harness for the abs sensor. Said harness is about $20 it shorts out due to insufficient gauge of wire used on original factory install. Replace harness has much sturdier gauge from what my research says. Repair shop quoted $700 to repair glad i told them to put it back together. They have a fleet of impalas as loaners so they know they are gouging people when they say replace wheel hub assembly abs sensor and wiring harness when they know it's the abs sensor period. Chevy needs to do a recall. Issue happens when car is in motion after turning or going over a bumpwiring that has been wore thru due to placement of wiring in a high friction area, wire wears through coating exposes wiring that shorts out and sends codes to computer concerning abs stabiltrak and traction assistcauses vehicle to behave erratically others have reported caused vehicle to stall and not restart until problem corrected. I'm sure they are gouged for a thousand $ or more. Wet road conditions, extreme heat or cold, left turn while backing, jarring bumps, all trigger the dash to light up like christmas tree dinging alarm goes off steering shudders power is reduced. It's a huge distraction and safety concern for so many to be experiencing gm should stand up and take care of the problem.

The vehicles traction control light comes on when making slow left turns and the vehicles front wheel seems to lock up it almost feels like having run over something.it seems to happen when turning left after having been at a standstill.this was the second or third time it has happened in two weeks.

Mostly when turning while in reverse, the traction control light comes on and the car hesitates slightly.there is also a grinding noise.this will happen occasionally going forward.during the summer months this happens several times week.during the cooler months it only happens occasionally.the car will be four years old in 08/2017 and it has less than 28,000 miles on it.this problem started in 06/2016 when the car had approximately 20,000 miles on it.had the brakes looked at and was told they were fine.can't seem to figure out what the problem is or how to fix it.

At 47,000miles the abs warning light came on. I went ahead and replaced the hub wheel. The light went off for about a week. The stabilitytrack warning came on. It goes off. But then when i make a left turn the light comes back on again. I have spent countless hours researching trying to find a solution to no avail. They should issue a recall for this chevy model.

Stabilitrack and traction control will randomly fail while backing and driving.especially with right hand steering input.many times while driving and turing right, stanilitrack and traction control will alert failure and the input from the accelerator will cease causing slow tiring leading to near miss traffic collisions. Chevy can not find problem and numerous online reports of the same issue.on going issue.

Unwanted traction control/abs activation at low speed. It usually happens from a stop when turning left, but also has occurred at low speed when turning left, when going straight over a bumpy road and also when turning right. The roads are dry. Traction control/abs activates with a distinct noise and vehicle hesitation. Dash lights/notifications are usually not activated however service traction control has appeared a few times. This is a safety issue especially when making left turns and the vehicle hesitates in the middle of the turn with on-coming traffic. This has been ongoing for one and a half years very intermittently, but has become constant now every time the car is driven. The car has been to the dealer 3 times for 6 days over the last 2 weeks and has not been fixed. I finally drove with a mechanic and easily replicated the problem several times. The car is currently at the dealer for a 4th time (after the mechanic verified that there is a problem). The car is a safety hazard and the problem must be repaired permanently.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While turning left at 10 mph, the vehicle stalled and the engine re-engaged independently. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle jerked before accelerating. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

Vehicle is 5 years old and only 90,000 miles and the engine has developed an oil leak on the right side of the engine. The dealer has alway done the oil changes etc, and never mentioned it.this is a fire hazard and needs to be corrected. I see from others that this is common on the 3.6 engine no matter what vehicle it is in.

Days after purchasing my 2013 chevy impala ltz 2 years ago from first car in bakersfield i have had nothing but problems with it. As i would drive it , it started to automaticly brake on its own and lose traction speed. Blows white smoke all the time it is running even when parked. I have major problem when driving the car shakes slot. I have spent approximately $5000 in repairs and no improvement what so ever!

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While exiting a parking space, the vehicle made a popping noise without warning. The failure recurred. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While driving 10 mph and making a left turn, the abs, traction control, service brake assist, and check engine lights illuminated. The vehicle began to decrease in speed while the accelerator pedal was being depressed. On several occasions, while the vehicle was in reverse, an abnormal noise could be heard. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000.

Driving on interstate 95 going between 60 and 65 all of a sudden engine light came on, the engine reduction power light, the stability traction control light came on and the engine slows down from 60 to 20 miles while driving on a crowed highway during rush hour. Pull over by that time i was barely moving to the side of the rode.took it to the dealer they looked it over and said it was a bad sensor in the accelerator.well the light when off for about a month but it started again doing the same thing, began to do research and there are tons of complaints on youtube dealing with the same issue.this is a very dangerous issue to have to deal with.

Was driving then all of a sudden the car stopped accelerating. I was getting the following warnings: service traction control, track stability, and engine power reduced.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While driving 35 mph, the engine stalled and the power steering and brakes failed. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 44,500.

"service traction control" and "reduced engine power" warning during normal driving on my way to work this morning. The car suddenly decelerated and started running terribly, causing a potential safety issue. I've only had the car for 2 months! apparently this has been a common problem with impalas for several years now that gm is seemingly unable to fix. Had i known about this issue i would not have purchased an impala. Gm sold me a lemon. Very disappointed.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, the reduce engine power, the check engine, the track control and the service stability warning lights illuminated as the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.

Was driving home on the interstate within normal speed limit. All of a sudden hit something ran over something and the car begin to lose oil and shut off. When towed to repair shop was told the engine had a defect in it bc it threw a rod and ruined the engine. The repair shop confirmed i was not at any fault bc there was plenty of oil and all needed maintenance was update. The repair shop can't figure out why the engine would throw a rod and deemed it a defect in the engine. The car was bought with 30k miles and now its 130k. Never had any problems until this and statefarm insurance says it does not cover this situation. Will be seeking if the manufacturer will replace it, bc it happened not at any fault of mine. If anyone else have experienced this please make it known for other ppl and state how you solved it. Thks

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. When the contact started the vehicle and shifted into drive, the traction control and check engine warning indicators illuminated and the vehicle lost acceleration. The contact stated that the same failure recurred three others times. In order to remedy the failure, the vehicle had to be shut off three or four times and then restarted. The contact also stated that the vehicle was taken to the crest chevrolet dealer three times for the same failure and was repaired under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired this time. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000.updated 08/03/17*lj

With no warning the engine of my car had a catastrophic failure. Due to defective timing chains and gears. Known to being problematic and breaking around 85,000 miles. Many on line complaints with this engine, but gm will not acknowledge it and do a safety recall. It is a safety issue because when my engine failedthere was no warning light to alert us to a problem. The car was running fine and it made a clanging noise along with a thick cloud of blue smoke.. We were lucky to get the car off the side of road before getting rear ended. Timing chains are not a regular maintenance item. They are suppose to last the life of motor. If they are failing at 85,000 miles or less why isn't a scheduled maintenance listed for it. Our car was regularly maintained at 4,000 miles with synthetic oil. I did not use a chevy maintenance mechanic i used a mechanic who has close to 50 years experience. Ji called gm up to explain what happen they said there was no recall and i can't go by on line forums. They wanted me to tow the car to a chevy garage for a diagnostic test. I asked them if they can have a mechanic come to where my car is, because i couldn't afford another tow and it was pretty obvious the engine failed. They refused.i was not expecting to replace a motor at 85,000 miles when most impalas go 200,000 miles. After on line research there was many complaints about this engine with timing chains and also a class action suit with different models, but same engine. I have no money to replace an engine and i shouldn't have to.

Since i purchase the car december 2016, i have had an issue with the front driver wheel well. From a tire rod, cv axle, wheel hub, and the stabilitrak off light. Today, i get an engine light and my car slowed down drastically. Now i have a check engine light, service stabilitrak, engine power reduce, stabilitrak off and traction off!

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While driving 20 mph, the vehicle stalled and made a grinding noise when making a turn in the middle of an intersection. The contact also heard grinding noises when the vehicle was shifted in reverse. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, but was not diagnosed. The manufacturer has not been notified. The failure mileage was 81,205.

My 2013 impala ltz will suddenly decelerate to around 35 mph and hesitate when you hit the gas. Three messages pop up, "traction control off", "engine power is reduced" and "service stabilitrak". This happened to me a few months ago and i brought it right in to global chevy in north plainfield, nj. They fixed and it seemed fine but now happening again but this time, i almost got t-boned in an intersection. I have found this has happened to many people in many different forums. Now i need to get the vehicle to the dealer again. This should be a recall!!!!!!!! i almost got smashed and i will be making sure this is documented in as many forums as possible. This is a chevy problem. I got charged over $650 to fix this last time!!!!!!!! i am upset as hell and not really sure what to make of this. I need to drive my kids around in this time bomb now? i refuse to pay for something that is such a danger to operate. Secondary issue is that sometimes when backing out of a spot in reverse, applying drive and trying to move forward, the sounds like gears grinding that goes away if i straighten the wheel out. Wth is that?? this happened at the light on centennial avenue in piscataway nj crossing over s washington ave. Was stationary, then in motion. The auto deceleration happened while at speed of 35 mph and then it would not accelerate when pressing the gas. I have an invoice for the first repair. I would appreciate expedited help on the matter.

Car loses power and stabilitrak warning come on while driving no engine power at all .check engine light come on and stays on till i shut off engine and turn back on only then engine light disappears my car only has 37,000 miles and is 3 year oldits happen on the highwaythree time and in the parking lot of my work twice now.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala.the contact stated that while driving 35 mph, the vehicle shifted from drive into the low second gear.the contact also mentioned that the gear indicator light did not indicated what gear the vehicle was positioned.the vehicle was restarted and after five minutes, the vehicle operated as normal.the contact stated that the failure occurred daily.the vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was unable to be replicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.the failure mileage was 100 and the current mileage 9,085.

Car was hard shifting always was getting to high way speed lost power on engine warning code came on has only lower 3 gears forward no reverse now, chevy wants me to pay 3660 them pay 1600 and call it a warrenty ,has lot left on mileageshort 5months on warrenty being out not right they want old transmission also to cover their screw up

The contact owned a 2013 chevrolet impala. While the vehicle was stopped at a stop sign, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle accelerated very slowly. The engine stalled in the middle of the road. The key was turned back to the on position and another vehicle crashed into the front driver side of the contact's vehicle. The air bags deployed. The contact suffered a broken left hip bone, nerve damage, and other injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The failure mileage was approximately 3,345.

Car has a grinding noise and hesitates when taking a left turn from a stop. Only happens intermittently at this point. Feels like the traction control coming on for no reason. (but then i am not a mechanic) no indicator lights on the dashboard come on when it happens. It is dangerous because the car hesitates and pulling out into traffic this is an uncomfortable situation. Sometimes it may happen 5 to 6 times a day and then it stops and doesn't happen for days or weeks again. Does not seem to be related to weather conditions as it happens at all different times. Brought it to the dealer and they cannot diagnose the issue because it doesn't happen when they drive it. They checked the car and cannot find a problem. Told to bring it back if the problem persists and gets more frequent.

Low beam headlight keeps going out every 2 weeks, not blowing bulbs just stops working. Have cleaned connectors several times, wore gloves when changing bulb and checked fuse.

Passenger side low beam headlights goes out every two weeks. I have had everything done still stop working. Also abs system continues to light up and brakes act up .

While heading south on ohio i675 just south of i35, the gas was no longer being pumped to the engine. I was in the outside lane and was able to get the car to the breakdown lane on the right side without incident, but the car was almost stopped by the time i got it to the breakdown lane. I called aaa and then lang's auto dealership to make sure i could get the car in on a saturday. Aaa responded quickly and replaced the fuse for the fuel pump since this was the second occurrence, the first while driving. The car was able to make it to lang's. They found that the drain wire in connector x200 a1 shorted to circuit 3640 a3 in x200. The fix was to re-position the drain wire to not contact the fscm wire terminal at x200. Doc id 2585199 location k-16. Had several communications with lang's service and discovered that the mechanic knew the fix since he had done this before. I asked the service manager to report this to gm to hopefully create a recall for this issue.from the service manager:the wiring repair was done at a connector in the right lower hush panel area by the lower door hinge.the technician found this do to experience and proper diagnosis.there is nothing that you did to create the problem. It was not correctly manufactured from the supplier of the harness/connector.and:all warranty repairs are looked at by general motors but i will forward your concerns to my area representative.my concern is there are more issues with this vehicle which are known but not recalled. On the news this morning subaru was being sued for a similar issue due to safety concerns. I am very concerned that there will be more issues with this vehicle that could cause a breakdown that i will not be able to get the car out of harms way.please contact me if there are any results from this reporting incident.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated as the vehicle veered to the left and right. The contact also stated that smoke was being emitted from the exhaust pipes. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed that the fuel injection system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 39,386. Djr

The floating gas gauge doesn't properly read the gas levels, even after replacing the fuel pump system and housing. One minute my gauge says i have 120 miles worth of gas when i cut the car off. The next morning when i get in the car to leave, my gas gauge shows 109 miles then it might jump down to 99. I can never tell how much gas i have. The actuators go bad in every model, i've had a 2005, 2010 and 2013 all of which encountered problems with the actuators going bad during the summer months. When you replace one actuator, it's not long before it goes out again and you need a new one.

My car keeps turning off on me while im driving

Car stopped running at interstate speed (70mph) without warning.gas gauge shows 1/4 tank of fuel left.the car has also done the same thing on a city street with 1/8 tank of fuel left.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While driving 25 mph without warning, the vehicle lost power and stalled. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the fuel pump and fuel sending unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,936.

I dont understand why my car shows no misfires until today and its the fuel control module but it resets and goes away then back again like its remote control. While stationary battery is fair/ alternator fair

I took my car to the dealership because i had a few noises from the front end. One was a clunking noise when i reached speeds of approx 25 mph, the front end was making a popping noise, when i would back up then pull forward there was a grinding noise, and also a few times when i would make a left hand turn it was like my car was stuck for a few seconds with the motor revving, but wouldnt move. When it finally would, it would shoot forward and i almost lost control of the vehicle. When i took it to the dealer, i was told both lower control arms and the right front hub had excessive play, the front engine, rear engine, strut mount, and transmission mount were torn, the front timing cover and the steering gear rack were leaking and all needed to be replaced. So much for spending so much money for a car to reliably get me and my kids from point a to b safely. Thankfully the dealership is helping me out so i can affords to get my car fixed, and its still costing me $2000. The car only has 60,3023 miles on it.

Thks

Able to shift gear positions but the indicated shift position does not represent the gear position the vehicle is in. When istop and park the vehicle, i am able to shift the lever to the "park" position, but the vehicle is not actually in park position. I currently have the emergency break on. Vehicle will not stay in park when gear is in park position. The lightest touch will knock gear shift into reverse and car rolls away.

Was driving then all of a sudden the car stopped accelerating. I was getting the following warnings: service traction control, track stability, and engine power reduced.

The air control knob makes a ticking sound. It does when you open the car door opens, if the wind shifts, or when you are adjusting the temperature in the carr

Does not shift into gear smoothly.i can feel a jerk when transmission changes gears. There is a delayed response when when excelerating from a standstill.this vehicle had 36000 mileswhen we noticed the problem4 months ago. Problem code p0989shown when recently checked by mechanic. Another problem ivolves an intermittent metallic grinding noise when makinga left turn at low speeds.

When driving at low speeds (eg 20mph) and then re-applying gas pedal to accelerate there is a large jump/kick from what seems to be the lock up o f transmission and engine.also the powertrain doesnt feel smooth when driving at highway speeds. It seems as though something is loose or not rotating on the correct axis. I have taken car to dealer and mechanics about 7 times this year all to no avail. The vibrations and unsmoothness aren't experienced in competitor cars that i have driven. This has occured over the course of 7 months.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. The contact stated while attempting to operate the vehicle forward or in reverse, a loud noise was heard and a warning light illuminated. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact received notice of nhtsa campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system). The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While driving 10 mph and making a left turn, the abs, traction control, service brake assist, and check engine lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000.

From a stop making a left turn the traction control goes on and prevents acceleration . Almost got hot 3 times on corners.

Abs multiple times this vehicle will lock up the brakes when attempting to pull out of a parking lot or make a turn from a slow speed i.e. An intersection this has nearly cause many accidents. After doing research on it as well my vehicle is not the only one with this problem its out there and it is a huge safety risk. This problem will occur about 80 percent of the time when turning from a stopped position or slow speed of anywhere from 1mph to 15mph.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While driving approximately 70 mph, the transmission shifted independently from drive to neutral and the vehicle stalled. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was coasted to the side of the road. After restarting, the vehicle resumed normally. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 18,000.

2013 chevy impala with approximately 43000 miles developed a grinding noise in the front end when it was turned sharply to the left at low speeds (5mph), also the traction control light would begin to flash. It became so severe that it caused the front end of the car to nose dive on several occasions. Car was taken to a chevy dealer, mechanic found front right wheel bearing hub loose and bad. Replaced wheel bearing hub at a cost of $350, dealer claimed wheel bearing hub not covered under powertrain warranty or under any recalls.

2013 chevrolet impala rental car. Consumer writes in regards to shift indicator issues *tgw the consumer stated gm thought it was a good idea to remove the letters from the shift indicator console between the two front seats. Instead, gm put the shift indicator at the very bottom of the speedometer, directly over the steering wheel. When the steering wheel was turned left or right, the shift indicator on the console dash was blocked by the steering wheel. Furthermore, the hands of the driver, would also block the indicator on the speedometer.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 15 mph, the stability control warning light illuminated intermittently. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,500.

My brake catches while driving and under dash board makes noise andwhen you turn on the heater itmakes noise and all my dash board hazards light are onand want go off wiper radio front seat. This car has been nothing but trouble and the shop i took it to told me to contact you because this should be a recall issue

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while driving in snow, the ignition switch independently turned off and the vehicle shut off. The contact also stated that the passenger side seat belt was fractured. The contact mentioned that notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system) was received but a notification schedule was not yet submitted to dealers. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000.

Get abs, traction control, stable stability sensors on. In motion and when sitting still. Resets but comes right back on.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While making a turn, the brakes independently applied and an abnormal grinding noise could be heard. The failure was intermittent. The abs and service stabilitrak warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the brakes, rotors, bearing, and tires were replaced. The contact notified the local chrysler dealer where an appointment was scheduled for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000. The vin was not provided.updated 07/18/17*lj

When making low speed left hand turn service stabilitrack and service abs warnings come on, steering is difficult and a grinding noise is heard.grinding stops when steering wheel straightened then turn can be made after speed is built up.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. The contact heard abnormal noises that progressed without warning. The vehicle stalled several times and the contact had to make several attempts to get the vehicle to restart. Tn addition, the abs and traction control stabilizer warning indicators illuminated multiple times when the failure occurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer more than three times, but they were unable to replicate and diagnose the failure. The contact was unable to determine if the vehicle would be repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

My 2013 chevy impala is having issue with the abs traction control system. The car makes a grinding noise when driving and the service traction contil, service stabilitrak, and service brake assist, when pressing brake you can feel it pulsating and the car slides. The car also decelerates on it's on and then starts back accelerating. Many people are having this issue and chevy has yet to recall the vehicle, i've taking the vehicle several places and they don't know what's going on.

Traction control intermidely comes on affecting take off speed and steering resulting in abs system coming on.happens mainly when starting out form a stop.cannot accelerate from a complete stop or make consistent turns.

Car warning lights come on for traction control breaks and throws car into oncoming traffic at random times without warning. It is very unsafe and is on a recall list. I should not been sold a lemon car.

My brake catches while driving and under dash board makes noise andwhen you turn on the heater itmakes noise and all my dash board hazards light are onand want go off wiper radio front seat. This car has been nothing but trouble and the shop i took it to told me to contact you because this should be a recall issue

2013 chevrolet impala. Consumer writes in regards to front end noise while traveling at a low speed. *ldthe consumer stated that the wheel bearing was replaced, but the failure continued.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala.

Stable control and abs light comes in when i star on wet payment i hearnoticeand slight vibration, but light goes offand on at various times, noy log enough for dealer to check it out

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While making a left turn, the contact heard a grinding noise coming from the front driver's side wheel. The contact stated that the abs, traction control, and service brake assist indicator illuminated. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Electronic stability control/ brake assist and abs light comes on at random times. Took to dealer and say nothing wrong with it had wheel bearing replaced and problem is back. Happens while in reverse

When backing out and turning wheel to the right it makes a grinding sound.the abs light comes on.this has been happening for about a month.before this started i started noticing the when i took off the traction light would come on, even when a slow take off.the grinding sound happens off and on and its starting to get louder.the lights don't stay on all the time.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While driving 40 mph and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to stop. In addition, the traction control and abs warning indicators illuminated. The contact stated that he had to apply excessive force to the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The contact was able to continue driving at a low speed to his residence. The contact called alamo city chevrolet at (210) 987-2134 (located at 9400 san pedro ave, san antonio, tx 78216) and was informed that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while driving 5 mph, the brake pedal was engaged but the vehicle failed to decelerate and the contact crashed into another vehicle. There were no injuries or visible damage to either vehicle. A police report was not filed. The failure recurred three times while the contact was driving at low speeds. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000.

I have had this worked on about 1 month of purchase. I was told the cheapball bearings in the wheels are faulty. My car makes a strange noise when i turn the steering wheel and it lunges for a split second and then engages forward. Alsowhen i am braking down a steep incline, the brakes grab and jerk the car slightly.this has gone on since i purchased this car.

Received "service traction control, service stabilitrak, service brake assist" warnings all at the same time. Car makes a loud noise when reversing and turning to the right or left at low speeds. Occasionally while braking, the car skids. Abs light also came on.

While driving approximately 5 mph, the service traction control, service brakes, abs, and stability warning indicators illuminated. The contact stated that the brakes made a grinding noise when the brake pedal was depressed. The failures occurred several times. The dealer stated that the front driver side wheel sensor wire harness and the front passenger side wheel bearing needed to be replaced. The passenger side wheel bearing was replaced. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 44,000.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While making a left turn at 10 mph, the front driver side wheel seized and the traction control indicator illuminated. In addition, the contact heard an abnormal grinding noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the speed sensor wire failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. An independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and removed the front driver side tire to show that the speed sensor wire was actually spliced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 99,563.

Took vehicle to dealership for standard oil change.while completing inspection form they indicated that the steering column is leaking.they recommend immediate replacement for $1,300.00.this vehicle only had 57,000 miles on it.i told them not to replace it.they stated you could have a small leak for many years but it will eventually get worse and leading to steering failure.i asked about this being under warranty but of course i was 2 months outside of my warranty.i have been driving it since they recommended replacement with no issues yet.i am hoping that a recall will be recommended for this vehicle.i mostly do highway driving with this vehicle and put on 70 miles a day.hopefully enough unfortunate individuals have this problem and we can get a recall started.

Service stability message comes on when making turns and the tire makes a sound. The vehicle just started to do this about a week ago. I reviewed comments from other users online and it appears there are several people with 2013 impala's that have the same problem. It happens when turning or when accelerating which makes it very harmful.

When making left turns, the car hesitates, and there is a grinding noise, while turning. The problem is happening more often.

I attempted to turn on my vehicle while in the parked position the key would not turn and the wheel was in the locked positiion. Made several attemps to try and turn the key with negative results. Had to have the vehicle towed and a few diffent mechanics attempted to turn the key but negative result. It has been determined that the ignition switch needs to be replaced.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala.the contact stated that after the vehicle made a left turn, there is a grinding noise that came from the drivers left tire. The vehicle resumed it normal operations when the vehicle was driven in a forward motion.the failure occurred on a regular basis. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and a diagnosis was completed on the vehicle.the failure was not able to be reproduced.there were no repairs completed on the vehicle.the failure mileage was 33,000. The vin was not provided.

There is a rubbing noise on the front drivers side every time i make a left turn.

When turning the steering wheel to the left, the car lurches slightly forward and makes a terrible noise---loud enough to be heard outside of the car.a mechanicchecked the ball bearings in the wheels and they were okay he said.this noisestarted a month after i bought the car. It doesn't make this noise every time you make a left turn, but when it does, it does it repeatedly if making a left turn.

The abs, traction control, brake assist and stabilitrak warning lights come on intermittently while driving. A grinding noise can be heard coming from the front-left wheel. This usually occurs while accelerating from a dead stop or making left and/or right turns from a dead stop.

I purchased a 2013 impala in november with 19,000 miles on it. I noticed a bang in the front end when backing out of driveway cutting to the right or left. The drivers tire is wearing uneven because the alignment is off "but only slightly and within specs". Steering wheel shakes at 45-50 mph without pulling.go over a bump and feel a vibration in the floor under my feet! it has been in several times and they have done the following:1. Tighten motor mount2. Had it half a day to replace a broken motor mount (same one they tightened two weeks earlier)3. Had it all day to "listen for the noise", heard it and ordered a strut spacer4. Had it half a day to replace strut spacer, did not stop the noisethey have heard the noise 3 times and made several attempts to correct but was not successful.i suggested the rack and pinion but was told gm will not pay them to explore my front end.shop says without hearing the noise all the time we will have to wait for a "catastrophic event to occur".

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. The vehicle was taken in for an inspection and the contact was informed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. When the steering wheel is turn leftmost or rightmost and turn off the engine, you can't turn on the ignition because the steering wheel is stuck. Without remote start, my car will always be stuck on the sideway of a slope.

Car was making a squeaking noise when you turned the wheel. Took it in to dealer. They said steering column was leaking and could result in loss of steering if not repaired. 1300.00 to repair. This is a 3 year old car with 44,000 miles on it. Was not covered under warranty. Losing your steering is certainly a major safety concern.

When making low speed left hand turn service stabilitrack and service abs warnings come on, steering is difficult and a grinding noise is heard.grinding stops when steering wheel straightened then turn can be made after speed is built up.

My power steering went out

Wheels drag hesitate when pulling off from a parked position, has done this since about a month of purchasing this car from dealership.

I have had problems with steering control in this vehicle ever since i bought it from serpentini chevrolet in strongsville, ohio.chevrolet service department replaced the left front hub and bearing assembly on 6/9/16 at 34,770 when the car was still under warranty.on 8/3/18, when the vehicle was out of warranty at 60039 miles, the service department told me that the steering gear was leaking and it would be an $1829.50 repair.the symptoms i am experiencing now are the same as when the car was under warranty and not repaired correctly.it makes a scraping or grinding noise when you turn.if i add power steering fluid, the problem goes away, which leads me to believe that this was the problem all along.i checked online and it seems to me that a lot of people are having this same issue which usually only gets identified after the car is out of warranty.i believe gm should be required to do a recall before someone has a serious accident.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to lupient chevrolet (1601 southtown dr, bloomington, mn) for routine maintenance. The mechanic discovered that the steering gear was leaking fluid. The steering gear was replaced. The contact indicated that the same failure was previously discovered this year while the vehicle was undergoing routine maintenance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,080. Consumer stated he had a 27 inspection completed and dealer stated there was a small leak with a milage of 33,393. Steering gear was replaced at 20,080 miles and again at 13,893 miles. Consumer feels there is a design or manufacturing issue.

As i was driving on i 294 i heard a loud bang sort of like a gun shot and glass from the sunroof came raining down on me.i pulled over and looked around in the car to see if something landed on it however there was nothing but glass.

Driver's side back door locking mechanism will become stuck, and door will remain locked despite attempting to unlock it with the key fob or manually. First noticed when the door would not unlock after being put in park after driving approximately 10 miles. Other doors unaffected, and rear passengers were able to exit vehicle via passenger side back door. Only solution appears to be removing the interior door paneling to access the locking mechanism. This will resolve the problem for a period of time (varies) but will happen again.

Shakes and feels as though the tire may come off while driving. Shakes when you go a certain speed and slow down. Replaced tires and had alignment check and car still does the same thing.

The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

Control arm - l& r - o/a may 19, 2015 backing out of my driveway and turning steering wheel i heard a grinding noise; made a left turn heard it again. I took the car to the place where i bought it. Told the svc. Manager about the problem; i don't know if anybody test drove it or just looked under the car; he didn't find any problems. A month later it started acting again with the strange noise; i took it to a different 'certified chev dealer'. A tech rode with me and heard the noise immediately; appoint was made immediately; supposedly repaired...i drove it another month. Then the same noise started on the right side; took it back to the same dealer. Once again 'control arm', supposedly repaired ... Wrong !!!! now 8/04/15, turning the wheel again, the same grinding noise started. I want to take it back to the last shop but first i want in put from your office. The car has only 14000 miles ...updated 08/20/15

I purchased a 2013 impala in november with 19,000 miles on it. I noticed a bang in the front end when backing out of driveway cutting to the right or left. At just over 40000 miles on the 2013 chevy impala, the left rear tire developed a leak. Took car to a tire shop and they discovered belts were coming apart on the inside of the tire, upon further investigation the right rear tire also had evidence of cord separation (soft spongy spot in tread). Tires were goodyear brand that were original equipment to the impala & still had approximately 20% of usable tread left. All four tires were replaced at a cost of $643.

Eagle ls2 tires have had the sidewall fail and blow off. While driving at 70mph highway speed. Nearly causing a major accident(s). Apparently this is much more common then it should be after reading online about these tires. And commonly on impala vehicles for many years, nearly a decade.

I have a loud ticking noise inside the dash (passenger side) that starts when the a/c is turned off. Also happens ifthe a/c in the on positionwhen the vehicle is turned off for quite sometime. Very annoying and scary.this happens while driving or when the key is not in the vehicle.

Stolen vehicle

When making left turns, the car hesitates, and there is a grinding noise, while turning. The problem is happening more often.

Second complaint original nhsta reference # 1128286 filed on 8/17/2017randimly the abs and traction control light comes in even when traction control is off.when turning there is a loud grinding noise the car also hestitates and looses power.

Driving at low speed 40miles or less pull up and stop to make turn and car makes a grinding noise and traction control light comes on. Stalls some before it will pull off. Took to dealership they could not reproduce issue so they stated they couldn't do anything. Left lot and it did it again.

My car has been making a grinding noise when backing up or turning left. It does it once in a while. When accelerated it doesn't go anywhere then it takes off.almost caused my daughter to have a wreck today and i'm not pleased.took it to a few places to have it checked and it wouldn't do it. After today, i am not to happy with my 2013 chevrolet impala ltz. Something needs to be done about this continuing problem with these cars. Is it gonna take someone to die before chevrolet does something about it. My daughter was turning into a busy intersection when this happened.

My car keeps turning off on me while im driving

Second complaint.first complaint was filed on 8/17/2117 nhsts reference # 1128287. The cat randomly the abs and tractionconyrol light comes on even when tractionconyrol is off it then make a grinding sound when making turns and looses power and hesitates. It just randomly does this.

I bought a 2013 chevy impala. I have not had the car for even a year yet, and every time i turn the car on you can hear a knocking noise coming from the dashboard. Every time i turn the car on or off. I checked with a mechanic, he told me that they have to remove the whole dash board in order to fix it! i believe this should be a recall! i previously had a 2008 also impala as well, and it did the same thing. The reason i bought this 2013 impala is because i like chevy's, but i didn't think this would happen again that is a shame that your company doesn't do a recall for this problem.

From a stop, when i turn left or right, the traction control/stability control actuates causing the car to significantly reduce forward movement and hear a grinding or scraping noise causing an unsafe situation in heavy traffic. Have had other motorists honking etc. On a highway.

2013 chevy impala ltz has to many issueswith under dash dooragigator censors 2times on this car and now abs and trackstablizerlights coming on andit makes a grinding noisewhen turning the wheel to the leftwas driving and the lights cameand cant get them to go off even after resetting them.

Takata recall- faulty ac flap. Causes the ac to make loud popping noise and drains energy from the battery.

Right side no longer gets heat and actuator has gone bad car ticks the passenger airbag light does not show on the seat belt indicator for passenger does not go out

Hard popping in the dashboard.... I know 3 other people that have had the same problem.... Is this not means for a recall.... Just cost me 1000 dollars. With a warranty so why isn't this covered in a bumper to bumper warranty?

It keeps saying on the odometer electricstability control or trackand lower the power.my car was on motion on a city street with cars all around us. I've read that several people were having trouble with the same thing. Why don't they recall

A few weeks ago our daughter was driving our 2013 chevrolet impala. She informed us that the car just "took off by itself." we just attributed it to her not being familiar with the car.a couple days later, while my wife was driving and i was in passenger seat, at about 25 mph on a city street, car suddenly took off as if she had slammed accelerator to the floor. Pushing on the brake ended sudden acceleration, engine returned to idle, so i have to assume that problem is possibly related to cruise control circuits and that brake may have disengaged cruise.cruise control circuit was "on", since we had previously been cruising on interstate, but was not engaged (or set) when incident occurred.this problem came out of nowhere, occurred twice in a week's time, then disappeared. We are wondering if it will occur again.2013 chevrolet impala w/ 60,000 miles

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While making a left turn at 10 mph, the front driver side wheel seized and the traction control indicator illuminated. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. An independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and removed the front driver side tire to show that the speed sensor wire was actually spliced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 99,563.

The contact owned a 2013 chevrolet impala. While the vehicle was stopped at a stop sign, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle accelerated very slowly.

The wipers had ice on them as well as the right hand side of the windshield on 01/25/14 a week after i bought my car. The defroster had been on all the time during my drive home, about 1 hour. I had to stop a number of times to knock the ice off the wipers and scrape the windshield. It happened again on 04/03/14 when i was driving home from the mpls airport. I had put on new wipers after the first incident, yet these wipers iced up as well. I again had the defroster on, sometimes it was full blast. I took pictures of the wiper blades on the 4/3 drive. I showed them to the dealership and they said the defrosters were working fine. To me this is a safety issue.also there is terrible road/wind noise. I have recorded it. I had all the windows up, nothing was turned on and the noise is terrible. Even when at a stop, you can hear the noise of the passing cars 2 or more lanes away. The dealership said they couldn't do anything for it. They are working with me to try to resolve the issue. So i have no complaints about the dealership, but with the car. I am thinking of taking it to a body shop and see what they think of the road/wind noise. I even wear earplugs if i have to go very far because i can't stand to listen to the noise. I used to love to get in the car and just drive, with no radio on, i don't in this car. If you would like a picture of the wiper blades or listen to the noise in my car i can send those to you.

Blend door actuators fail to operate correctly while driving vehicle on the highway changing cabin temperature drastically losing visibility of fogged up windshield and crash occurs.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet impala. While driving approximately 30 mph, the defroster failed and created poor visibility. The failure recurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000. Updated 03/04/15*ljthe consumer stated the vehicle needed a need battery. Updated 03/26/15

Auto braking system constantly goes on / off told it's hub sensor. Replace hub same probleminternet has many people with same problem, and spent more than me troubleshooting the problemand still can't resolve this problem.how can you tell if brakes are failing if this system continues to alarm for no known reason.

The abs, traction control, brake assist and stabilitrak warning lights come on intermittently while driving. A grinding noise can be heard coming from the front-left wheel. This usually occurs while accelerating from a dead stop or making left and/or right turns from a dead stop.

Service stability message comes on when making turns and the tire makes a sound. The vehicle just started to do this about a week ago. I reviewed comments from other users online and it appears there are several people with 2013 impala's that have the same problem. It happens when turning or when accelerating which makes it very harmful.

Please reference complaint number 10899363 filed on 8/29/2016. On 8/30/2016 two addittional tires of the same dot number were found to have similar defects on the same vehicle, but had not completely failed with a blowout or air leakdown. The two addittional original equipmenttires on the same vehicle were found, during inspection with the vehicle stationary, to have separations/bulgesat the inner tire edge where the tire face meets the sidewall. Neither of these tires caused any "thumping" during driving; however, examination revealed that the separation had been ongoing for enough time to allow wear of the raised area and fatigue cracking/checking in the sipes overlying the separated area. In all cases, the separated area was pressurized and could be pushed in until the outer tire rubber contacted the inner body of the tire. Addittionally there was no air leakage or reduction in tire pressure.mileage at the time of the observed defect on these two addittional tires was 39,000. The dot number of the two addittional affected tires is m643 bhdr 3912. Be advised that all tires on this vehicle have been maintained to the tire manufacturers specification.the attached photo shows the swelling/separation/cracking/wear at the tire edge of one of the two addittional tires from dot number m643 bhdr 3912 - observed defect on 8/30/2016 was similar on both of these tires. Due the the nature of this failure, where separation had obviously been ongoing for a period of time as indicated by the wear and checking pattern but no "road feel" of the failure, a driver could easily end up with an instant failure/blowout at any time without warning as happened with a tire on this car as reported in complaint 10899363. In allcases, the failure was on the inner side of the tire and not readily or easily be found without a detailed inspection.

Traction control activates when there are completely dry roads. It activates when i am accelerating from a stop as i am turning left. It seems to be a problem with a sensor in the wheel(my opinion),but when i take it in to the dealer they "can't duplicate customer concern" there has been on and off problems with this system since i purchased the car. It is frustrating that it isn't corrected and the service department gives me the impression since they can't identify the problem,it's not a problem to them.

"takata recall" when i turn my wheel to the left and proceed to drive . The traction control light comes on and i hear a rubbing noise.i have had it looked at and they don't believe the wheel hub or bearings is bad. I have noticed other impala owners are having the same issue. My vehicle is 78,000 miles and my bumper to bumper warranty has expired. I feel that this should be fixed by chevrolet by a recall. Asap i am needing to drive across the country of round trip miles of 4,000. Very scared to drive my car , afraid that it is the bearing and will lock up on me on the freeway.please take immediate attention to this problem.

The contact stated that there was a bulge in the tires and that they continued to go flat. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed but they could not find out the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 41,000. Adupdated 03/16/16*lj

Eagle ls2 tires have had the sidewall fail and blow off. While driving at 70mph highway speed. Nearly causing a major accident(s). Apparently this is much more common then it should be after reading online about these tires. And commonly on impala vehicles for many years, nearly a decade.

In sept of 2015 we had a blow-out while on i-71 in ohio we were traveling at about 75 mph and were lucky enough to be almost upon and exit ramp where we could get off and put on our "donut" and proceeded to a tire store where we had to buy a new tire.we did not take a picture, figured we hit something in the road. Then two weeks ago (10 jan 16) my wife, on the way to the store turned around and came home and complained that the tire pressure was low one of the tires also told me that the previous day when she and my sister were coming home on the highway the previous day that the car didn't seem to handle normal thought it was due to construction and rough road.. I went out to air it up and while airing it up i noticed a ply separation on the inside of the tire. So i put the "donut" on and took it to the shop the next day to replace that tire, only to be informed that another tire was worse than the one i indicated. So not trusting the fourth tire i had the three original tires replaced.these tires were goodyear, the original tires that came on the car when we bought it new. My wife called goodyear and was told to take the tires to moody's a goodyear store in franklin tn and have the tires assessed which we did and they called goodyear and gave them their report.

Wheels drag hesitate when pulling off from a parked position, has done this since about a month of purchasing this car from dealership.

Goodyear eagle ls 2 tire on a 2013 impala experienced a sidewall split and tire deflation while driving on a city street. The distance covered from the time the tire developed a perceptible "thump"till the sidewall ruptured and tire went flat was between one and two miles.until that time, the tps did not come on. The entire event occurred within 5 minutes. Separation occurred between the radial plies and the outer rubber coverig of the sidewall. The goodyear eagle ls 2 tires were original equipment on this vehicle.mileage on the tires at the time of this failure was 39,000. Tires have always beem maintained to manufacturers specifications.
