Notification on dash has been on stating that the airbag deployment system will not deploy. On star has also sent me diagnosticreports stating this is a urgent matter that needs to be fixed

May 2013 i purchased a 2012 impala fully certified by the chevy dealer. On 9/25/2013 i was stopped on i-80 due to traffic. A woman traveling 53 mph slammed into me causing me to take out the next 3 cars. I filed an investigation with gm to review the vehicle information (which is how i know how fast she was traveling). The airbag light was on, but no airbags deployed, and the seat belt had restrained me only after i violently bounced off of the steering wheel. When this was reported to gm it was stated that there are three lines of defense in a vehicular accident #1 the body of your vehicle #2 your seat belt #3 airbag deployment. 2/3 lines of defense had failed me. Gm had no conclusion after the accident and i received the reports from the engineers. I was traveling fast enough into the car ahead of me for the airbags to have deployed, and the seat belt should have restrained me. Nearly a year later, i am greatful that one line of defense had prevented further injuries, but this is something that i will forever feel the negative impacts of. With recent news investigations into gm's faulty airbag deployment, clearly they can look beyond just the older models of impalas.

While driving this morning my passenger seat belt warning light was flashing, i was the only one in the car. I had a 20 oz aquafina bottle of water sitting in the passenger seat. The passenger airbag light was illuminated on and car was wanting the seat belt buckled. I have two small children and the thought of the airbag deploying because the seat sensor for the airbag thought there was a person sitting there is very disturbing.

When entering car there is tapping noise behind the passenger glove box, this noise will continue for approx; 5 min ,when key is turned to the off position noise will continue for a few minutes before stopping.. Car is garage kept. Main driver is a senior driver.(83 y.o )

I have a2012 impala which had almost 60000 miles on it when purchased it. Vehicle now has around 85000 miles on it, have not been in any accidents ever. Recently my air bag light came on displaying that the passengerside air bag is off.i took it into a shop where they provided me with a diagnostic check and was told that is most likely the sensor on passenger seat. After being told this, i took in to dealer ship for immediate assistance reminding you that it is definitely a safety issue if this vehicle is in use without air bags properly working. I know that there is prior recalls for same vehicle, same problem only the recalls were for years 2008-2010. The dealer would not even look at vehicle without charging me almost a 200$ fee to run a diagnostic check on a major known security issue. I further called gm the same day and spoke to two representativeseparate. The first rep was a man, i explained that the air bag front passenger notification came on. He asked if i was in accident, which no, never any accident. He put me on hold then came back and advised me of a recall and he was needing to see what he's going to do for me, put me back on hold just to get another rep , i asked for supervisor.the lady came on and clearly told me the opposite of the man i was just talking to. That no no recall, that i would be responsible for all fees.are you kidding me??they said that upon previous situations, that an air bag sensor would need replacing costing about $1000..clearly there's a faulty, software defect which was previously recalled for my vehicle. Gm needs to care that no life should be at risk if in an unsafe chevy impala. I refuse to think gm provides unsafe vehicles to anyone. There's way too many complaints of air bag issues with these types of vehicles, god forbid any accidents happen and gm could have prevented the problem and even save a life.

Tractor trailer hit a 1/2 school bus which hit us on the drivers side, no air bags went off. Passengers had severe injuries including neck, arms, nerve, hands, shoulder damage.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. The contact stated while driving at 15 mph, the vehicle stalled causing the steering to lock and the brakes to fail. As a result, the vehicle crashed into street sign causing the vehicle to fall into a ditch. The contact stated the abs and check engine warning light was illuminated. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed.there were no injuries sustained. The vehicle was not drivable and was towed to an impound lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired as of yet. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 176,000.

While driving on a straight street past an intersection, a car ran the stop sign and hit the right side corner of the passenger door and damaged the right rear wheel causing a 180 spin and sliding into the curb damaging the left wheels and steeringdoing $10,000 damage. The problem i am writing about is that the airbags did not activate. I have to wonder why and are they going to activate if i have another crash.

I was hit by another car at intersection near rear door.my car was considered a total (not worth fixing), and i was taken to er hospital by ambulance due to sever neck and shoulder injuries. Released with fracture of neck and fractured right ribs.not one air bag in front or back released in collision.i knew something was wrong!

Car was serviced (oil change and tire rotation).afterwards when driving the car 50-60 mph there is a vibration felt in wheel and in seat.took back to dealer, had all 4 wheels balanced.problem still existed. Additionally there is a clunking noise in front end, noticeable at low speeds (10-15mph) when going over small bumps in road; noticeable when a/c and radio turned off.dealer cannot identify any problem, says its operating as designed, no noise.frustrating considering these problems were not present at purchase or at 30,000 miles.additionally the airbag / seatbelt indicator illuminates for passenger seat at random times for no reason. Something as simple as a bottle on the seat will make it illuminate.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. While the vehicle was stationary, the passenger side air bag cover detached from the vehicle. Purchased a gm certified vehicle.vehicle stalled several times whenever making a left hand turn.when i would make a left hand turn, the vehicle would die completely in the middle of the turn.i would have to restart the car.one instance when trying to restart the car, the ignition acted "stuck."i only turned the ignition once and the car continued to crank over to restart the car on its own.the last couple of instances when taking the car to the dealership, it died, even when not making a left hand turn.it would die periodically while driving down the street.i took the vehicle into main motors (a gm dealership) to have it fixed.they said the wires were worn through in the engine compartment that run to the electronic control module.they stated they rerouted the wires.my bill was only for labor, no replacement of parts.i asked gm to cover this.the service adviser told the first agent at gm that it was a defective wire harness.then the case was directed to a "district specialist."the district specialist stated that the service manager at main motors retracted the statement that it was a defect and stated it was normal wear and tear for electrical wires in the engine compartment to be worn through.not a safe design for an electrical system to not last past 55000 miles.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. While driving approximately 55 mph, the contact had to reduce the speed to avoida rear end crash. The vehicle stalled and forced the driver into the median. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000.

2012 chevrolet impala ignition switch problem.*mwthe consumer stated what gm suggested to have no more than one key on the ring. She stated that was not a fix.

The radio works when it wants to shows a blank screen and does absolutely nothing. My door chimes, ignition chime, seat belt chimes, turn signal chimes none of that works either. Not sure if it's an electrical issue. However i had my battery and alternator tested. Have been having this issue for maybe 2 months now.

Car experienced complete engine and electrical system failure while accelerating onto busy highway. There was no emergency lane, so brought car to a halt blocking one lane. This was as very dangerous situation. Later determined that the cause was a loose hot wire terminal connection to the fuse box. It had either vibrated loose or was not tightened adequately at time of manufacture. Local dealer was not interested in reporting this event to the gm data base, so gave me a chevrolet customer service number to call, which i did.

I took in my wife's 2012 impala into the auto mechanic about a month ago because her defroster was not working. The mechanic said that that something burned (i think it was a box with some wires). He replaced it with a new part and it was working. Last week i noticed that her rear defroster is not working again.i plan on taking it in again but if they fix the same thing i would assume it would be an ongoing cycle of this problem.i did do some internet research and noticed that others are having the same problem.i contacted chevrolet cooperation and they said that there is no recall on this.

Vehicle steering wheel locks and car completely shuts off while driving (in motion)on a busy highway. This vehicle has done this two other times, but not on the exact same date.steering wheel also locks while turning left or right on a busy street.

I am extremely unsatisfied with my auto. I do not want a auto that i can not trust. This vehicle is not worth what i paid for it.i am in an upside down loan and can not get rid of it. What can you do to help me?

Driving 55 mph on the interstate noticed that i hadn't filled up in a while yet the fuel gauge still read "completely full". Filled up at gas station took 3/4 of a tank. Gauge has been alternating between full and completely empty for a month. Could have run out of gas at speed on interstate causing accident internet research has uncovered a few incidents like that. Chevy support is willing to waive the 50 dollar diagnostic fee but will not cover repairs. Local garage quoted 250 labor 160 part to replace fuel gauge sensor in the tank, but from online research past years have seen instrument cluster failures in fuel gauge, speedometer and engine temp. Car has 50800 miles on it is four years old and may require repairs 400-2k depending on which part is failure. Previous gm products have had class action lawsuits for similar issues. This is a safety issue as the gauge fails and the check engine light took 25 days to come on with the error code in the 460's that the sensor was bad. Currently driving vehicle with broken fuel gauge and submitting complaints talking with support to try to get them to cover repairs.

The car keeps shorting out the battery.the starter is sluggish.the traction control light keeps coming on.

While driving 30 mph on city streets going straight with a slight incline the a/c and radio powered on and off several times.when stopped at a stop light the doors unlocked and "service stabilitrak" flashed on and off the dash, the radio powered down, and the a/c turned off.after a few second everything went back to normal.no check engine lights came on at all.this is not the first time this has happened.

Takata recall problems with blower motor in ac..was replaced twice. One side of vent is hot while other is cold. Also loud tapping noise after car is shut off..continuously even when engine is turned off. Believe a bad relay now that i need to replace. My sister car also does same thing she has a 2006 impala.

I purchased this car used in 2014 with ~30,000 miles, and it presently has ~85,000 miles. In that time i have replaced 4 gas pedals because the alert triggered "service stabilitrak" tells the technician to replace the gas pedal - clearly not the problem.essentially, when the defect occurs, engine power is reduced to where the car can barely get out of its own way which is really dangerous during highway rush hour (when folks drive more aggressively) or pulling onto a roadway from a dead stop.if i power the car down and restart it, the error will usually clear, but often reoccurs. Since it tends to happen on hot, sunny days (temp >75f) when the a/c is running, it feels like a wiring problem. The dealer service department suggested replacing the body control module, but could not guarantee that would resolve the issue. Based upon the number of complaints over a similar issue, it appears that gm has a problem that it is not willing to address with a recall or service bulletin.

The contact mentioned that the failure recurred whenever making a left turn. The contact was recently notified that the hub bearings needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the harness on the driver side needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 51,000.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. The contact stated while starting the vehicle the key failed to turn until after numerous attempts. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 33,000.

The actuator has failed in the car, a small electrical motor that moves the temp doors or the recirculation door. When the actuator goes bad, you will hear a thump noise from under the dash that is extremely loud, which impedes the driver ability to hear emergency vehicles, which is true a safety concern. I have googled online and there are 5k complaints overall. This is a factory defect which is not safe for consumer. The contact stated that two days after purchasing the vehicle and driving at an undisclosed speed, he heard an abnormal clicking sound coming from the dashboard. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the sounds were coming from the heater actuator and it could lead to an air conditioner failure. The contact stated that the vehicle was not repaired and the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that assistance would not be provided since the vehicle was out of warranty. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

I have a 2012 chevy impala, the traction service control and abs/stabilitrack keeps giving me issues. I have a grinding noise, decreased power and car will nearly stop on you from time to time, particularly when turning. Taken to dealership, more than one, they keep telling me the harness attach to my traction control system snaps. Ive heard my model has this issue. I see no recall for my vin,but i have the same issues.

When i start driving on local street each morning, imake a left turn, the car makes a loud grinding noise and my service traction control, service brake assist, & abs light all come on. They also go on & off when i go over speed bumps make a loud grinding noise.the traction control symbol will come on and i will be stuck trying to accelerate. This is very dangerous as i have almost been hit from behind a few times due to not being able to accelerate in a timely fashion. I have gone on chevy impala forums looking for other drivers who may have experienced this are there are a good number of them. It seems to be an electrical problem.i finally took it to a mechanic and they could not reproduce the problem.it still happens.

My car is trying to kill me. At a complete stop when i hit the gas the traction control comes on. My dash says service stabilitrak , traction control and abs. I must turn off the traction control to drive my vehicle. With all that, if i drive up hill it turns the traction control on, the abs and traction control light up and the lights stay on. When the car is restarted all the lights go away. Twice i was pulling onto the highway from a stop. That situation happened and my car didnt move. Luckily the car was able to move or else i would have severly injured. This happens with my vehicle daily. I took my car in because my alternator failed. I told the dealership about a tsb for the issue and they did nothing. It also happens a lot if im accelerating while turning a corner. The dash lights up like christmas lights.

The part arrived the same day, and the consumer was assured, the vehicle had been repaired. However, as soon as he pulled off at an exit, the vehicle died again. After having the vehicle for over a week, the dealer informed the consumer, they found numerous exposed wires, that were causing shorts, such as rubbing on the transmission and other metal parts, many of them were not properly secured. Also, when the consumer turned on the headlights, he discovered the low beams did not work. The consumer stated chevrolet bought the vehicle back and they offered him a deal on a different make, model and year. Updated 09/24/13. Jb

Traction control light and chime on and off..............car runs ok but chime will drive you crazy.............need to turn it off................

My wife and i own a 2012 chevrolet impala,i have researched this vehicle a lot.on complaint websites, there are pages and pages of people complaining about the blend doors for heat and air,you have no control over the defrost or air oor heat, that is dangerous for anybody to drive and you can go up to car and badly touch car and it starts clicking and clicking and don't stop, chevrolet refuses to fix problem that's their fault for using inferior parts ,that to me and a lot,a lot of people say chevrolet and gm,don't give a [xxx] about the safety of their vehicles or customers,so if this problem isn't addressed,i know you don't care but i'll never buy a chevrolet again, and i've bought quite a few chevrolet's,but never been treated this way for their mistakes, the reason i know it's dangerous is because you can't control any functions of the heat air or defrost,my wife is disabled and for her to have to get out and wipe windshield off just to drive, and god help us if it rains,we have to pull over to clean windshield,if that's not dangerous then anybody that owns one of these carsparts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

2/16/2019 (sat 3:30pm) : suddenly lost power when driving at 70 mph on highway 99 near fresno, california.felt like no gas coming in.engine was still on, but gas pedal seemed to pump no gas to the engine.pumping the gas pedal had no acceleration response.speed continued to drop on the highway, very dangerous!finally, luckily pulled over to the shoulder without mishap.engine was still on when stopping by the side of the highway, kind of idling at low rpm.shut off the engine and tried to restart it to hope for the problem to go away.cranked a dozen times and could not to get engine to continue. Felt like running out of gas. 2/17/2019 sun: the car was finally towed to a nearby dealer. 2/18/2019 mondealer service diagnosis reported broken "fuel flow control module".the estimate of its repair (part + labor) is near $500i have asked the replaced module to be saved for investigation.summary:sudden failure of the fuel flow control module that completely cuts off the fuel without a fail-safe design, nor a warning, for a part not in the regular maintenance list, particularly at low mileage (42,000)exposes drivers to high risk of accidents on the highway.action requested:it may be a quality-escaped issue on such a module. Failsafe design is needed for 21 century highway safety.i ask nhtsa to request gm to investigate this case to determine the cause of such sudden failure of fuel flow control module on a low-mileage car.

The car is fixed but my fears of it happening again are immense.updated 10/31/18

Since 2017, upon starting my car i get all of the following alertmsgs "service stabilitrak", *service brake assist" and "service traction control" on my dashboard.i've had the car into les schwab and error code diagnostics done both before and after both front hub assemblies were replaced.the same service messages still continue to appear on the dash.les schwab has checked the hub sensor wires repeatedly and all error codes and find them to be ok.they find the car to still have a crunching noise coming from the front end of the car, most markedly when turning the wheel to the left, but can also be heard when there is a drop in elevation, as when existing a parking lot into a slightly lower roadway. On june 14,2019, while the car was in motion and turning right at a stoplight, the same situation occurred as has when i make a left turn. The car suddenly acted as though the brakes were being applied very hard and then the car halted briefly with traffic behind me as though it would stall out.i applied the accelerator till i forced the car to move around the corner and after about a minute of fighting braking resistance, i was able to regain normal 40 mph speed with the flow of traffic.this occurred on dry pavement with no precipitation. Outside temperature was around 100 degrees.best driving conditions with no rough roadway.les schwab said the problem with the hub sensor and left turning is a known problem to them and said they wish it would be made a recall item as it is a common problem now.i don't feel safe driving this chevy impala. Love my car but won't take a chance on purchasing same make and model. I wasn't so surprised when researching these issues on the internet to find huge number of owner's having the same problems.

Service stabilitrak - reduced engine power lights came on along with the engine light while driving on the highway causing the vehicle to not be able to accelerate to the appropriate speed.

Im going down the road mash on the gas doing 38 and the vehicle is out of control. I literally had no control over the car. Im doing 45 to 50 and the vehicle is driving me right into the shoulder or into other traffic i had to lay off the gas to gain control of car doing such low speed. I was driving on the highway at the time. And was blown away.how the suspension and control of the car was not in my hand no more. This is a safety defect that everybody is talking about on online. Gm needs to fix this its their computer system in the car that messing up the whole car.and if there is police fleet of these impalas and they using these in police chases. The chases could turn ugly. I drove and bunch of police fleet vehicles and never had one where i didn't have control of it getting into high speeds. The main cause of these is that impala has fwd with 308 hp all up front what was they thinking. It'll be good fro a drag car going in a straight line. Start from a stand still and try to get up speed fast. Doing it without crashing or merging into another lane is impossible.get in a 2012 chevy impala lt with 308 hp then you will see the problem. Also exists on ss models as well.

Abs light comes on stabiltrac light comes on brakes pulse and grindon occasion don't want to stop at times like your on ice

My vehicle suffers from loss of power when making a square turn aka a very sharp turn. It only happens with left turns. The problem is wear of a cable near the front left tire which controls the antilock brakes and/or the traction control / stabilitrak feature. The wearing is such that when turning sharply to the left, the worn cable suffers intermittent connectivity loss. That loss of connectivity triggers traction control to briefly sever power to the front tires. I have found that manually turning off traction control prevents this problem from happening. I could reproduce the problem reliably. It nearly always happens when moving from a parked position into the roadway, and when leaving a parking lot after reversing out of a parking space.the problem is particularly dangerous when i am making left turns across oncoming traffic - i have lost power once in the middle of oncoming traffic but thankfully the others drivers were aware enough to stop before collision. Because of this i always turned off the traction control for all driving trips. I found online similar reports of other 2012 chevrolet impala owners.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. While driving 40 mph, the traction control, traction stabilizer, and reduced engine power warning indicators illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle never stalled; however, there was no response when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed and a dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer stated that the issue could be due to the throttle body. The contact was also informed by the manufacturer that there was a special coverage to have the vehicle repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 84,000.

Car has 68,000 miles. A few days ago the engine light came on, which disabled remote start. I didn't realize this until i went to get into the car. I'm in mi and this past week has been very cold. I jumped in and drove it to work (less than 3 miles). On the way, the traction light came on. No surprise, as it was a little slippery. No other problems. On way home from work: car starts up fine, no warning lights at all at start. Its about 13* out. Almost home: engine light comes on, traction light comes on, then right before turning on my road the stabilizer light comes on and reduce power light, car jerks and loses power like its going to stall out. It made it home. Next morning, engine light on but nothing else happens. I call around and dealership suggests i bring it in and hook it up to run a diagnostics for $98. I go over to parts store and have them run it first. Error codes show up that "don't really mean anything" and they reset the engine light. Runs a couple of days fine with no problems, lights coming on etc. Temp drops again and repeat the whole process all over. I bring to the dealership and they tell me it needs high pressure fuel pump and new lines, after they asked me if i ran e85 in it, which i do because that is what they suggested when i bought it! i can't afford the $900 right now and i picked it up. I called another dealership to get another estimate and i'm told that this is a common problem (we're seeing this all the time. It's a problem with running e85 in cold temps). That person suggests i run mao44 and prem unleaded in it and it should run fine for a while. I"m also told that this is not covered by the powertrain warranty and there has been no recall, even though "we're seeing this all the time".

While driving my car highway speed was 65mph, at that rate of speed my vehicle was picking up speed and when i went to press on my brakes, it was if i was driving on ice and my car was skidding. Two days later i stopped for gas and my car wouldn't start, after my 3rd attempt, it stuttered hard time turning over. Once it did i turned it off but the car was still running.i did this several times. Very scared to drive my car back home because i'm out of town. My lights says i have low right tire pressure but i don't, it's back left tire for some odd reason.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. While driving various speeds, the contact heard an abnormal popping sound and the stabilizer traction indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but the failure could not be duplicated. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was 85,200.

Traction control light and chime on and off..............car runs ok but chime will drive you crazy.............need to turn it off................

I was driving on a residential road and i took a turn onto a different residential road and right after i started to accelerate the check engine light came on. Right after, the service stabilitrak and service traction control light came on. The car started sputtering and when i started to stop the brakes locked on and off as i came to a stop. It continued to sputter every time i accelerated and the brakes continued to lock every time i had to engage them. I could barely get the car to drive faster than 25 mph. Once i got home i popped the hood and the engine seemed to be shaking.

Hello, i have been experiencing the following lights coming on since i have received my impala with 60,000 miles on it. It tells me to service stable link, service traction control, the abs slit stays on and i have replaced both hubs on the front. What else is there to do unless i rewire everything. This all happens when i first move the vehicle and during my trip.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. While driving 20 mph, the electronic stability control and stability control warning indicators illuminated. The contact stated that an electrical short caused the dashboard, center console by the shifter lever, and front bucket seats to melt. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. The contact also noticed visible smoke in the vehicle while driving. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact was informed by the manufacturer that a representative would be sent to investigate and diagnose the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 61,000.

Takata recall my stability track sensor is constently coming on overpowering my driving and messing my driving up. It happens with no conditions when i turn the wheel to the left and has been happening ever since i bought the car.i also had the engine shut off on the freeway. I have replaced many things that i was told can be causing this. There is still an issue.

1st - 8/11/2018 - 79,653 miles - check engine light came on, code p0411 secondary air injection system incorrect flow detected. Dealership stated the solenoid malfunction check engine came back on, code p0411, chevrolet stated the secondary air injection system is functioning as designed and reset the code. Chevy's stated the faulty sir injection solenoids bank 1 and 2 was the cause of the check engine light code p0411.advised me that the battery terminal may be the issue and recommended changing it. Recommend a new alternator. Chevy was unable to verify the code p0411 but made a recommendation for the issue. Check engine light came back on again, no other issues with the vehicle at that time. Gm opened a tac case. Advised by tac that carbon buildup in the cylinder valves from the cylinder heads was the cause. Told to drive vehicle for a few days. Within 3 days check engine light came back on.chevy installed a vehicle data recorder per the gm field service engineer. Test results showed both air injection cut of valves needed to be replaced. Future also updated ecm calibration and programmed it - covered under warranty. 6th visit on 9/3/2019 at 85970 miles chevrolet advised the cause is due to the left temperature control and air inlet actuators.7th - 9th time, advised by independent auto repair shop, that everything was working as normal. Check engine light code was reset. Advised car needs to be calibrated at gm-approved dealership.as of today, the check engine light remains on. The final shop advised the issue may be that the system was not calibrated or just needed to be calibrated every time the check engine light came on. I believe that thousands of gm customers are paying out of pocket forunnecessary p0411 repair work.*dt

Clunking , grinding noise service stabilitrak, service abs lights come on lose power when reversing or making a left turn. After much research there seems to be a problem with the wiring harness going to the sensors in the wheels. Many people are having this very same problem across many years of this vehicle. People are spending money unnecessarily on parts such as wheel hubs and bearings without fixing said problem.many people are also reporting cars turning off as a result of this.

The electronic stability control system is constantly on even when my car is stationary my antilock brake system light is also always on. Some times i lose power when i start to drive. I had it checked and had the sensor replaced ,but the problemswere not solved.

While driving home from work during rush hours my 2012 chevy impala's dashboard lights up saying " service traction control, service stabilink, engine power reduced" terrified as i was in the middle lane trying to get over as my car began to go into limp mode.i almost got rear ended due to this problem. I was accelerating from being stopped.

My chevrolet impala was in motion when my abs and trac sensor keeps coming on. Now it's happening everytime i drive. It almost locks on me when i'm driving and it scares me for my safety of my kids and myself in the vehicle. I looked up to to see what the problem could be and there has been a lot of complains for that 2012 model. My lights will flash on and off (trac sensor and abs) and it makes a weird noise

In feb. 2014 started getting intermittent computer messages concerning, service traction control, service stabilator(?) control, reduced engine power.message occurs randomly, and stays for a day or less, then goes to just showing the engine icon, then clears self.car was purchased used (16000 miles) from dealer.error codes p2138 and p2122 were showing per dealer.car was owned in rental fleet in east elmhurst, ny (queens, severely affected)during hurricane sandy, but showed no service as being done, afterwards. Next entry showed car in upstate ny, on dealers lot.have been told (3/25/2014) that part was ordered and would be in in a couple days. 17 days later, told ":part not in--will call when here" and replace at no charge.still waiting for call from dealer.

Takata recallmy car feel like its loosing power when i start it up and the ignition housing need to be replace

Service stabilitrak came on when merging on to the freeway, (which involved a turn to get on the on-ramp,)shutting down the car completely. Almost hit by a semi. I have had the bearings replaced because of stabilitrak light. How has this not been recalled? my friend and i almost died because of the faulty sensors or whatever it is with these crap bearings. I was told how the bearings are made with the sensors being placed in a completely ridiculous spot by auto parts stores. Saw plenty of complaints online with this vehicle. Same issue. How has nothing been done with this?

Traction control and stablitrak lights come on. Grinding sound and hesitation before moving in reverse, going straight and turning. The hestiation keeps the car from moving. Can turn off and fix this issue for a short bit of time with the bottom on the dash. After a while turning it off doesn't help because it turns itself back on.

My car's stabilitrack, barake assist, and traction control lights come on everytime i turn the steering wheel to the left. The car hesitates when giving gas making it for a dangerous situation when getting into traffic

First item, driving stability light came on twice how to go to dealership for repair.second item, passenger side low beam light issue, replace bulb three times can't identify problem with the connection or wiring issue. To replace bulb, requires removal of front end bumper in order to complete project.problem occurred while night driving on highway.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated while attempting to accelerate. The stabilitrak warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the front wheel bearing and hub assembly caused the failure and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Prior to the failure, the vehicle was repaired for the same failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.

I have about 72,000 miles on my car and the service stabilitrak, service brake assist and service traction control messages come on and the abs and electronic stability control light also are on. It happens when turning left or right and also the abs kick in and effects the steering. I have replaced the right and left hub assemblies and it has not helpedno codes are found when vehicle is scanned. This has been going on for several months. Thanks for your help. This will all happen in drive way and on city roads/highways.

Vehicle steering wheel locks and car completely shuts off while driving (in motion)on a busy highway. This vehicle has done this two other times, but not on the exact same date.steering wheel also locks while turning left or right on a busy street.

70,000 miles, stabiltrak warning on startup and engine power loss.error message was about a sensor, replaced the hub and the wiring harness to fix.so far no more problems but i've seen this issue countless times and i'm surprised there wasn't a recall yet.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. Every time the vehicle was started, and attempted to make a left turn, the vehicle lost power and the stability warning indicator illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle would slow down. The failure occurred everyday for the last two weeks. The vehicle was not diagnosed by the dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 72,000.

When using e85 fuel in my flex fuel vehicle the check stability control/reduced engine power warning is activated.this occurs when the car is moving.i have contacted my dealer and gm they were unable to help me.there is a gm technical bulletin (pip5385c) on this problem.

Car makes grinding noise and stops after moving when turning left or rightwhen at a full stop

Grinding noise in front left wheel. Electronic stabalizer flashes on and off and on and off. Going from reverse to forward the car loses power and then just dies right in the middle of an intersection.had wheel hub sensor replaced. Good for two months. Now same problem. Car has 48000 miles

Every time i turnwarning lights for my stablizing system and abs then the brakes starts to lock up sometimes with it also traction control also turn on and off this is every time i drive the car have taken it to 3 dealers no one can find the problem this is every time i start the car and drive on the streets or on the highway.

Intermittently, the dic will sound an alarm and display the following messages:service stabilitrak, service traction control.when this happens i sometimes notice a decrease in engine power and/or grinding noises from the front end when i make turns. This has occurred at highway speeds and/or residential speeds and does not coincide with any rough or unusual driving conditions.it is hard to understand what causes it unless it is some kind of electrical short circuiting. I can turn the stabilitrak off and the messages and diminished mechanical performance will stop, but may re-appear weeks later.according to the reports i have read on-line, this is a common problem among impala owners with cars of similar years and mileage.my car has only 40,000 miles.in an effort to fix the issue, other owners have reportedly replaced sensors, wires, wire harnesses, hub assemblies, throttle bodies, and brake components.general motors needs to recall our cars in order to deal with this problem.none of these mechanical components should be failing so soon.loss of engine power and braking ability while driving is a potentially deadly problem, and any mechanical issue this widespread among car owners should be subject to an official recall and should be remediedby the automaker at no charge to the public.

The car keeps shorting out the battery.the starter is sluggish.the traction control light keeps coming on.

The vehicle would not stop after applying brakes made awful noise and i rear ended a car. It was clear, dry and sunny at the time and should have been able to stop. I believe the stabilitrak system is faulty. The tire pressure sensor has now started coming on since the car accident. The dealer that the body shop took the car to after it fixed the front bumper said it's not the tire sensor that's bad.

The front hub assembly is continuously defecting.inhave replaced both sides a minimum of 6 times since 2013. The steering goes out, the brakes grind the traction control initiates and in severe times i loose all power to vehicle. This is in motion. From complete stop to motion, while in reverse and while turning in iether direction.

Takata recall / airbags light came on and started making loud clicking noise where airbags are located

Car cut offs when put into drive car cuts off while driving. Rpm odometer stops working. Check engine light comes on reduce engine power. Stability track and abs stop car from turning. Gm dealer said its battery terminal wires and a new battery changed both and same issue. Fuel pressure sensor keeps going bad replaced twice. Car is choking on to much fuel rotten eggs smell coming from exhaust. Car is very dangerous to drive has cut off on me in traffic to many times now. Once and if problems are ever found their needs to be a recall to prevent injury or death.

Grinding sound when i turn left. Service stability track pops up the only way to fix this is to turn traction control off.

About 8 months ago my 2012 chevy impala started causing issues when the engine light appeared with the reduced engine light.taking it to a dealership, they put the computer on it & were unable to determine what the codes were related too. I then searched google for any issues comparing to mine and found several complains about the same thing.following the repairs that others have performed, i tried the same thing with no results.at the moment i am looking at replacing the throttle body sensor with the hopes that it will be fixed.the safety concerns is that my vehicle will be fine for a few minutes but then the reduced engine light appears and my car will continue at very little speeds and the shifting from gear to gear will go up to 5 amps. My car will then start bucking like a horse in the middle of traffic until it stabilizes and i'm able to run at good speeds. My car has not yet stalled but with it reducing speeds in the middle of traffic, it causes safety concerns as a fast moving car can come up me and hit me.i hope this gets attention from gm as i have read that several others that had the same issues.this is my second message for the same issues and i do not recall having received a response from my 1st complaint.please advise why gm has not made a recall on this issue and give their customer's a better driving experience.thank you.

Abs/traction control failure. Both left and right wire harnesses had to be replaced ti to wire rubbing in frame and going to ground. Gm has four tsb's on this known problem.abs/traction control or federally required safety features. This need to be a full recall.

I was driving and after making a left turn, my service traction control, service brake assist, and abs light all popped on. It went on and off for many days as i would stop and thenre-start the car. I finally took it to a chevy dealership and was told they tested the front abs connector and adjusted the timing. Lights and codes went off for about two weeks then popped back on upon making a left turn. In addition to the lights and codes, the car now make a loud grinding noise and the car stalls. I have been at a light in the middle of making a turn when the car will stall and not let me take off- the traction control symbol will come on and i will be stuck trying to accelerate. This is very dangerous as i have almost been hit from behind a few times due to not being able to accelerate in a timely fashion.i have gone on chevy impala forums looking for other drivers who may have experienced this are there are a good number of them. It seems to be an electrical problem.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that the electronic stability, traction control, and check brakes warning indicators flashed randomly. There was an abnormal noise each time the indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was not able to replicate and diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 42,000. Updated 02/12/16*lj

While driving on local roads and accelerating loose the traction control (stabilizer traction control display) and can not accelerate momentarily. Most of the imes its happening when turning left (slow speed) or accelerating from stopped position (red light)

When driving after every attempt to make a left turn,my service traction control, service brake assist, & abs light all pop on. Since then it has went on and off for many days until it just finally stayed on permanently. Also message: "stabilitrak service and traction control , brake assist " finally took it to a chevy dealership in culver city,ca in may 2013 & was told they tested the front abs connector and traction and found nothing wrong and no code errors. Reset the sensors anyways and adjusted the timing. As soon as i drove out the dealer, same error messages and lights returned. Took car again to same dealer &wastold "i must have drove through water or oily surface and lights would go off after i drove 20 or so miles".lights & errors did not go away.returned to the same dealer again, this time again found no errors but they proceed to replace the tire sensors and reset the sensor id. Lights&codes went off for about a week then returned with a grinding noise when left turn, loose engine power &steering power, light &codes continue to stay on,& stalls for a few seconds when left turn. I have been at a light in the middle of making a turn when the car will stall & not let me take off.brakes appear to lock up.just missed a few car accidents due to stall. Has left me in dangerous situations as i have almost been hit head on & was hitfrom behind because i could not accelerate and got stuck on the turn. Cannot accelerate in a timely fashion is a huge problem. Because the dealer obviously could not resolve the issue had tire and brake expert shops look at the problem a few times. Also not finding the problem. Finally decided to just try &ignore it but after so many close calls of accidents& endagering my families life it is not acceptable for me to just deal with it anymore or to continue to spend money to try & find problem.forums prove others have the same problem.

I purchased the vehicle brand new in april of 2012. I reported the issue in january 2015. When i start my vehicle, especially from a cold start, i proceed to reverse out of a parking spot and as i turn the steering wheel to the left. The traction control light illuminates. As i stop the vehicle, i put it in drive and while turning the steering wheel toward the left as i proceed to move. The traction control light comes on a second time but the abs locks the left wheel (no abs light). I hear a metal grinding for less than 3 seconds and then it releases. It happens in all weather conditions but this issue is extremely dangerous, especially if it happens on the highway.i brought the vehicle to the dealership multiple times and they are completely clueless on how to fix the issue. I believe chevy is aware of the issue and won't issue a recall because it affects millions of impalas and even other vehicles as well. (cost = money/ loss of profit) i did research and noticed there is a bulletin released on this specific issue but they don't know how to fix the problem. I am wondering if chevy is waiting on someone to get killed in order to address this problem.

I stopped at a intersection, and pulled out onto another road, the car backfired and quit running ,leaving me in the middle of the intersection, and almost got hit.i have taken car to dealer and they say the car is operating normal. This happens alot within this vehicle when accelerating.

I have noticed when taking off from a stand still the rpm are high and the engine is very loud and noisy.it seems as i am driving with a v-8 or even a diesel engine.i am sure gm has been notified of this as well as some of the other complaints i have reviewed has stated the same thing.something needs to be done about the idling of the rpms when your just taking off at a normal speed and the reduction of the engine noise as well.my 2002 impala with 136k miles on it sounded better than this and it needed some work done to it.i thought i would at least get the best quality from upgrading to something more up to date but was very disappointed.if your going to pay good money for a vehicle you should have a decent car that doesn't sound like a piece of crap.can gm get it to where it is running as good as it looks?

Engine warning light and codes for timing chain problem while i was driving. Unresolved by dealership or manufacturer; bbb autoline said i should turn to nhtsa.

The engine shut off after hitting a large bump in the road. The engine shut off a second time again after hitting a large bump in the road. The power steering and power brakes were both affected. The car restarted. The dealer looked at the car and couldn't duplicate the condition. The problem went away after i removed all the keys from the key-ring.

Accelerator response time takestoo long to re-accelerate . After letting off gas then re-applying pedal while driving, response time should be 800 mili secondsfor an electronic accelerator but , it is way longer and makes car backfire at times if i hold pedal after the lag in response . This causes car to lunge and could cause me to get rear ended or damage engine. Second, rubbing grinding noise (not loud) from right front and more noticeable while traveling at 35-40 mph around a left bend in road or by moving steering wheel to left about an inch while driving straight down road. Dealer claimed no problem found on either issue , although they claimed to have replaced a strut bearing on right front. There must have been a previous issue judging by the worn tire before i purchased car. I figured it was an alignment problemthat may have been fixed because car didn't pull to one side and drove straight , but apparently there is still an issue and noise is slowly getting more noticeable unless i'm just tuned into it.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. The contact stated while driving at approximately 35 mph, the vehicle overheated without warning. The vehicle had to be jump started. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the gaskets needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. A local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but offered no further assistance. The failure mileage was 100,000. The vin was not available.

My car's engine always feels like it's dragging in the front and sounds really really bad like it's about to explode or something it makes a lot of noise and ticking sound as well when i'm driving

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. While driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle shut off without warning. The vehicle was towed to premier nissan of metairie (504-455-5800, located at 6636 veterans memorial blvd, metairie, la 70003) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and recommended a diagnostic test. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where seven different failure codes were located, including the cam shaft position sensor and the power train control relay. The contact replaced the parts, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000. The vin was not provided.

About 2 months ago the engine starting dieseling (the engine will still have combustion after the ignition was turned off). During a trip on city streets the engine suddenly stopped when driving. I was able to put the car in neutral and restart the engine. About 15 minutes later the engine stopped again this time while stopped on a traffic light. I could not restart the car. I had it towed to the autolab in plymouth mi where they diagnosed it with engine flooding. You could smell the unburned gasoline on the tail pipe. However no error codes were reported. After a few days in the facility and without the even duplicated i had the car back. Couple weeks later it started dieseling again so i went back to the autolab. This time they were able to diagnose the injection pump as being faulty and the o2 sensor not being able to control the fueling. They replaced the injection pump and since then the vehicle is running without problem. The lack of error reporting by the obd and the sudden engine stop while the car was in motion makes me feel i was lucky. I usually drive 30 mile each way to my work place. If the engine stops on the highway it will cause an accident as i am not able to use the brakes (power brakes!) or the steering wheel (power steering) properly to try to get away from the traffic behind by going to the shoulder.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. While driving various speeds, when the contact would make a turn or hit a bump in the road, he heard an abnormal pop sound without warning. In addition, the contact observed fluid leaking in the front middle of the vehicle. The dealer (hendrick chevrolet, 100 auto mall drive, cary, nc, 27511, 919-439-5132) advised the contact to take the vehicle to a local chevrolet dealer since they were out of state. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (dan vaden chevrolet savannah, 9393 abercorn st, savannah, ga, 31406) where it was diagnosed that the steering rack, brakes/ rotors, and tie rod needed to be replaced. Also, an alignment was needed. The steering rack, brakes/rotors, tie rod, and alignment were repaired. The contact stated that the engine now shakes independently without warning.

Vehicle started via normal key ignition.after high idling stops for warm up, vehicle starts to have odometer needle move from 500 rpm to 1000 rpm for a steady 5 to ten minutes.in addition, event occurs frequently at long stops even after car warm.usually, rpm may steady at about 750 or so a normal rpm setting for this vehicle.took vehicle to dealer who kept it for a week.no correction made. Dealer state waiting to hear from manufacturer.vehicle still have problem having needle flutter between the rpm mentioned causing undue distress to engine components.please assist.

When driving with the engine at lower than normal driving temperature, driver stops at a stop sign and with hard acceleration the engine surges from full power to dying out as tho fuel starved.this continues in a jerking action. Until; the driver removes his foot from the accelerator and then presses the gas feed again at which time the engine runs smoothly. This has happened on numerous occasions, however the dealership can find nothing wrong as the engine is now at normal running temp. Driver was told the problem is in the throttle body of the fuel system --- help..

Engine makes a knocking noise while accelerating. I drove another one and the noise was even worse, that one had 15000 miles on it. This seems to be a common problem with them all. I am very unhappy with this car. I don't enjoy hearing all this noise from a new car. (now has 6000 miles on it) if i can't resolve this problem it will be the last gm car i ever buy. The dealer had me drive another new 2012 impala when i mentioned the noise, it also sounded the same. Gm definitely didn't address this problem before production.

The engine died in a hard rain, wipers quit, flashers came on, windows went up and down, cd player quitand radio came on, then flashers went off. Windows would not go back up soaking the inside of the doors.this is my wife's car and now she is afraid to drive it. I called the dealer twice and got a recording asking me to leave a brief message. If they don't have time to answer the phone, how long will it take to fix it?

Engine makes a ticking noise or knocking noise while accelerating, i'm very concerned with this being that this noise started the next day after i had the car home from the dealership .i'm hoping this isn't a safety concern but it sure is a customer dissatisfaction.the dealer has tried to isolate the noise and could not and said i would have to wait for the manufacturer gm to figure out what is wrong.i'm very depressed about this having spent good money on a new car just to have it make more noise that a 40 year old car , and then being told i have to wait till someone complains enough to see if it can be fixed. I been told that this is a new engine in the impala and now am wondering if this engine is going to become a problem for thousands of people like myself. I have read some major concerns from people about the 06 impala and hope this isn't where my car is headed. Any help that i could get would be very appreciated, thank you.

First item, driving stability light came on twice how to go to dealership for repair.second item, passenger side low beam light issue, replace bulb three times can't identify problem with the connection or wiring issue. To replace bulb, requires removal of front end bumper in order to complete project.problem occurred while night driving on highway.

When driving sudden jerks of extra power then sometimes lower power/ alot of clicking when im not in the car and everytime i open the door or turn off the car. Lighta flicker when rolling the windows up or down and just when they want ro

My low beam headlights quit working.

When i purchased this vehicle i had a 42 month warranty. Several months after my purchase i noticed that the tires (all 4) were dry rotting. Several months after that the passenger side head light was fogging to the point it was dimming the head light. I took the vehicle back to where i purchased this and the name of the chevrolet dealer was tom bannen and now serra chevrolet. I complained to general motors in michigan and they told me to take this back to the dealership. The car was to be seen by the service manager which i did and was turned down again for repairs even while the car was still under warranty. I then filed a complaint with bbb and after several attempts to resolve these issues the jerk at serra chevrolet said that serra chevrolet would not honor any warranty that was given to me by the previous owner, tom bannen. I think that serra chevrolet in madison, tn. Has and will rip off other buyers who had the warranties from tom bannen. I will never purchase another general motors product and tell all my relatives and many friends not to buy from this rip off artist.

2012 impala the passenger side lowbeam headlight keeps going out, after replacing the bulb it goes out again instantly. Some kind of electrical issue i'm guessing. Can be dangerous and getting pulled over for it by the police is not fun.

2012 chevrolet impala lt. Consumer states high pressure fuel pump is very noisy when accelerating from a stand still and also states issues with vibration *tgwthe consumer stated the accelerator motor made a loud noise.the consumer stated the fuel lines, which apparently run directly under the driver's side floor, vibrate due to the harmonics set up by the high pressure fuel pump. The vibration is continuous and can be felt through the floor and up into the driver's seat.

Check engine, fuel tank will not fill, car runs ok

The engine goes deadwithout warning while i'm driving down the road. No lights on or any other indications that it is about to happen. Will not re crank. Realize that it happens when my fuel system is about 60 miles to empty.after putting gas in i can crank it right up and go until it hits around 60 miles to empty and it will go dead again without warning, very dangerous and scary thing to happen in traffic. Dealership technician is stumped as to what it is, they have changed one part and it did not work, engine went dead on him also when he tested drove it,car has been there for almost 2 weeks now and they don't know what to do. I need my car back.

The vehicle has a loud knocking sound from the high pressure fuel pump when you take off from a stop.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. In addition, when refueling the vehicle, the fuel sensor failed and fuel spilled out as the mpg malfunction warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the failure was unable to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,100.

I was driving to work. My car started to lose speed. Untilit came to a complete stop. I called for a tow truck, that towed my vehicle to a repair shop. After diagnosis of my car the repair guy, informed me it was my module fuel pump flow control. I wanted to know more so i google the problem. I came across a recall on gm site, bulletin 14515b. I noticed it was a recall for exactly the same issue i was having. So i called chevrolet to see what steps i needed to take on getting reimbursed for an issue that clearly has been a problem on several 2012 impala's. I was told,it was a recall but not on my 2012 because my vin # begin with a w. I explain to her that didn't make sense to me. All 2012 was in production at the same time. I'm pretty sure they used the same part on the vehicle. I was told it was nothing she could do. I informed her i will be filing a complaint.

When using e85 fuel in my flex fuel vehicle the check stability control/reduced engine power warning is activated.this occurs when the car is moving.i have contacted my dealer and gm they were unable to help me.there is a gm technical bulletin (pip5385c) on this problem.

While driving on the highway the check engine light & traction light came on at the same time as these 3 messages, engine may loose power, severice traction control, stabilitrack. The engine started slowing down &had a high pitched whinny noise. After about 10 miles the message changed to engine iis loosing power, wouldn't go over 35 mph and the whinning became louder and faster. I had to have it towed to a gm dealership, where they diagnosed it as the high pressure fuel pump.i was told the parts are on back order until may 15, 2018.

I have had major failure of all of the main function components of the steering and suspension. Multiple times i have replaced, the inner and outer tie rods, ll 4 wheelbearing assembly, sway bar links, control arms, cv axles. I have to replace brand new tires every 6,000 10,000 miles because the mechanical failures are wearing on the rubber so rapidly and al was and unevenly. I have never not had a n issue with this vehicle and have put more money in repairs then the payment, which are more than what i owe still on the remainder (financed). Also, the transmission is faliling rapidly. I have reported prior issues prior to this date. I cannot justify repairing, maintenance or emergency, a vehicle that is less than the value of the repair cost. Gm should be ashamed and punished for such crimes against consumers.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. After starting the engine and switching the shifter to the drive position, the vehicle suddenly went in reverse after the accelerator pedal was depressed. Used car purchased with approx. 72,000 miles. Major problems became apparent at 73,000 miles approx. Grinding clunking squealing noises were 1st warning signs. All of these noises occur anytime the vehicle is being driven, intermittently, but everytime i turn left or right. The ac/heater went out because the blower motor failed. Handling was horrible so replaced most of suspension parts but alignment repeatedly goes out and mechanics are idiots so they just say they are stumped and send me away. That prompted me to research on my own. I looked up the symptoms and have concluded that the hub bearings need to be replaced. Which i cannot afford seeing as how i just spent a few grand on other repairs.then i found out that the transmission is failing which makes it jerk when accelerating, drive very sluggish, and makes loud noises at idle and in motion. There is more problems that would take too long to list. I continue to research all of this vehicles complaints and problems and it seems like it is time for a real recall! gm should be held accountable for making such a nightmare of a car.i just purchased the car from a dealership for $10,000 one year ago and still owe $8,600. Just had the car appraised at $3,000, so i am upside down $5,500. I cannot trade it in, cannot afford perpectually repairing and would not because it seems like there is no end. It is parked now because i cannot drive it anymore, so i cannot get to work and may have to have it repossesed. This is not right!

While driving in the far right lane my dashboard went completely black, the radio went off and my steering wheel was extremely difficult to turn.i was able to maneuver the car to sidewalk the car was still in drive the keys were in ignition. I turned the key and attempted to restart the car it made a terrible banging clunking noise.i called the dealer and told them waited 15 minutes later the car started.ths really needs to be investigated as i could have caused are been involved in a accident. I'm very afraid to drive my car. I took the car in later to dealer they kept it until friday provided me a loaner they claimed they drove it and it didn't act up. But its not like they drove it all day i'm extremely upset and disappointed in this matter. I feel they discounted what i said.this could occur while a teenager are elderly person is driving. Please please look into this matter.

At times, the vehicle jerks while shifting. I have experienced heavy jolting, rough shifting, especially during low speeds. While on highway or during strong acceleration, car shifts great. Mostly the issues are during downshifts or low speed shifts. Took to chevrolet dealership, was told a factory reset may help adjust to driving styles. We bought car used with 35000 miles. This did not help. Not even sure if this is an option. No check engine lights or anything. Dealership cannot locate problem. Says transmission takes some getting used to. Awesome car, just wish this problem was corrected.

Replaced front wheel drive intermediate shaft and right side transaxle seal.

At speeds 15 mph and above after decelerating then accelerating transmission will make a noise ranging from a clink, clank, clunk to a banging jolt as if the car has been rear ended.the more pressure on acceleration and the lower the gear the louder the noise and the greater the jolt.dealership states transmission is operating properly.

Takata recall when accelerating forward from a complete stop the traction control comes on by itself causing thewheels to lock up& causes hesitation. The ground is not wet at all when this happens & has almost caused me to get rear ended. Even when turning the traction control kicks on causing the same reaction on dry pavement. When accelerating the car hesitates & jerks/jolts then the traction light kicks on. There are no codes on the dashboard & no check engine light. Taken it to the dealership and they aren't able to figure out the issue. This is very unsafe especially driving on the highway and driving with children in the car. It risking my life, my children's lives & the lifes of others.and have spent a lot of money having the vehicle checked out with no solutions. This is very dangerous.

Failed torque converter. The torque converter would slip when shifting from reverse to forward (drive). It would slam into drive, grin the gears and cause the tires to squeak (spin).on april 28, hedrick's chevrolet 961 w shaw, clovis, ca, replaced the original torque converter, with a remanufactured convertor, part number 17804457 (1), plus the following parts:17804457(1)-core return, 24264377 (1)- seal kit, 25886620(2)- gasket,10333578(1) - gasket, 12609163(1) - gasket. Car was in park at a gas station, ignition off, car not running.gear shift indicator showed "park". Driver was out of the car and the car rolled away, crashing into parked vehicle and resulting in injury to driver.this was an avis rental car with 7,500 miles on the odometer.

Clunking sound from transmission differential...when you pull out from a stop you get a clucking noise and the car cannot go...something is grabbed..pulling onto a city street or going in reverse from driveway..mechanic has been unable to find problem after 5 attempts.

When backing out of parking space turning right and then turning left, it sounds like grinding metal and the car starts jerking until the wheels are turned straight andthen it's ok again it is really loud. I took it to the dealer but it wouldn't do itfor them.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, the transmission remained in 4th gear and would not shift into 5th or 6th gear as normal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be duplicated. The contact also indicated that on multiple occasions while driving at various speeds, the "transmission hot idle engine" warning message illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who diagnosed that the high side of the transmission was defective. The body control module and the sl-n module was replaced but the defect was not remedied. The contact was driving approximately 70 mph after the repairs were performed and the "transmission hot idle engine" warning message illuminated followed by the disabling link sensor before the power steering and brakes malfunctioned. The contact turned the vehicle off and restarted the engine, and the vehicle operated normally. The manufacturer was notified and no solution was offered. The failure mileage was 6,206.

Grinding noise from front and momentary loss of acceleration upon acceleration from stop.most prevalent on left turn from stop but progressively getting more frequent on straight or right turns.dash traction control light illuminates momentarily.original dealer inspection found no issue.on star diagnostics revealed nothing.above 5mph no symptoms at all.dealer will reinspect next week.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while driving at low speeds, engine vibrations were experienced. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for repair but the technician was unsure of what component failed or how to remedy the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure and was aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50 and the current mileage was 12,000. Updated 3/14/13

Seat belt tensioner was found to be inoperable during a dealership repair visit.dealer will replace it at substantial charge.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while inspecting the vehicle, the contact witnessed that the drivers seat belt buckle assembly was detaching. The contact later inspected the rear seat belt buck assemblies and witnessed that they were fractured. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the seat belt buckle assembly had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 94,477. The vin was not available.

I have tried pulling on each front seat belt very quickly to trigger the motion sensitive retractor to see if the seat belt retractors would lock up. They no longer do. When the car was newer, i could pull on the retractors very quickly and the seat belt retractors would lock up as if an occupant moved forward quickly after a collision.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that the front driver seat belt failed to latch. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 18,000.

My driver side and back seat in the middle seat belts will not lock.i attempt to attach the seat belt as it should but will not lock and if it does click to lock the first bump (pot hole) i hit it unbuckles.very unsafe.

The passenger side seat pressure(?) switch in seat for air bag, constantly goes offindicating there is someone sitting there, when in fact there is no one or a piece of paper on the seat.it started out as a rare occurrence but is now pretty much switching on all the time, either at car start up or in the middle of driving.if it didn't dingle, warning the passenger isn't buckled it wouldn't be a huge deal, but still wouldn't need it to deploy in an accident when there isn't a passenger.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph, there was an abnormal noise coming from the brakes, which failed to respond. The contact also stated there was a abnormal odor. The failure occurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was repaired but the repairs were unknown. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.

I was going slow (20 mph or less), expecting to stop with my foot on the break.a car slammed in back of me.on impact, i pushed the break all the way down to the floor, without any resistance.just prior to that, the breaks were slowing-down the car as expected.my car slammed into the car in front of me. There were no break marks on the highway as one would expect if the breaks were working.the breaks simply failed.after releasing the breaks, shouting off the engine and later starting it up, the breaks are currently working as before the accident.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that the brake pedal had to be applied more than once in order to stop the vehicle. The brake pedal could also be abnormally depressed to the floorboard. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the brakes were bled however, the failure was not corrected. The contact also stated that the air conditioning unit would exhibit a loud noise. The pulley and belt tensioner was replaced in an attempt to correct the air conditioning failure but to no avail. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was 4,500 and the current mileage was 12,746.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. Whenever the contact attempted to make a turn, especially a right turn, the vehicle seemed like it was sliding. The traction control and abs warning lights illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 78,823.

The vehicle was not diagnosed for the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 8-3209374202. The failure mileage was approximately 86,800.

My car's stabilitrack, barake assist, and traction control lights come on everytime i turn the steering wheel to the left. The car hesitates when giving gas making it for a dangerous situation when getting into traffic

Same incident twice.i am driving either at low speeds (5 to 10 mph) or at 30 mph.the light service stabilitrak and brakes comes on.after i turn off the car, the warning lights and the message go off.i took car to dealership but they said they could not help because the warning message is off.i have seen messages across the internet posts that other impalas (2012) are doing the same thing.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. While attempting to accelerate the vehicle from a low speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle jerked when the brakes were independently applied. In addition, the abs, service traction control, service stability control, and multiple warning lights illuminated. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The electronic stability control system is constantly on even when my car is stationary my antilock brake system light is also always on. Some times i lose power when i start to drive. I had it checked and had the sensor replaced ,but the problemswere not solved.

I was driving down a hill on kalamazoost in lansing mich.my power steering and power brakes stopped working. I pulled on the steering wheel to turn the car into a hedge of bushed on the side of the road. It stopped before i hit them.

The contact owned a 2012 chevrolet impala. While reversing out of a parking lot, the vehicle accelerated without warning. The contact depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle failed to stop. As a result, the vehicle finally stopped when it crashed into an embankment. The passenger was taken to sherman elgin hospital to receive medical attention for back, neck, and shoulder injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed by the police to an unknown lot. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The failure mileage was 51,564.

Brakes have what i feel is excessive amount of fade especially after just a few stops seems to occur more at speeds over 50 mph.

Abs/traction control failure. Both left and right wire harnesses had to be replaced ti to wire rubbing in frame and going to ground. Gm has four tsb's on this known problem.abs/traction control or federally required safety features. This need to be a full recall.

When stopped at a red light the peddle would slowly drift towards floor.the car began to roll as if the brakes were releasing.i applied more pressure to the pedal halting the vehicle.i took the car to a dealership and was told it was due to the location of the master cylinder and gm was aware of it.my concern is that this may cause loss of brakeing when in motion.

Recently my car makes a pop or low clicking noise when i turn the steering wheel to the left. I've looked into and see there was a recall on the model in 2012 but i haven't found any records of my car being repaired. I want to know if my car can possible be repaired since the recall falls in line with a previous recall. It happens when i turn almost full to the left while in motion, whether i go forward or back it makes the noise. I want to know if i can get this repaired for free. The car has been doing this since june 2019 and i've owned it since may 2016. I haven't tried to get it fixed myself due to funds and i'm worried something dangerous may happen and i have a kid, so i want to be safe. I also want to know if it was ever repaired for the first recall

My ty rod broke and another part inside the ty rodbroke i am wondering if it had a recall on my car chevrolet impala xl 2012

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while driving t 25 mph and making a right turn, there was an abnormal noise coming from underneath the vehicle without warning. While driving at no more than 65 mph on the freeway the control arm gave out and it caused loss of control. Then it hit the barrier wall and the 2 tire on the driver side blew on contact. Towed to mechanic and they said that the tie rods also went out. The brakes and shocks and struts were new and it is regularly in the shop for diagnostics and repairs. This is inexcusable and this vehicle needs to be completely recalled and taken out of circulation.

Driving at highway speeds when i noticed it was difficult to steer while changing lanes. I tookthe off-ramp from hwy 515 to 215 and had to pull the wheel hard to negotiate the ramp curve.i made it home and called chevy on monday.they sent a tow truck to pick it up but once it arrived at the dealership the steering was working again and they were unable to identify a problem.

My vehicle's steering went out of no where as i was pulling into a store.there was a strong smell coming through the air vents, and very thick smoke coming from under the hood.i was unable to control the vehicle and had to stop to inspect the vehicle.i opened the hood and was overcome by smoke.i ended up resorting to calling a tow truck.i took the vehicle to a local chevrolet dealer and was told my vehicle was involved in an accident and this was a result of the accident.my vehicle was involved in a minor accident 3 months prior.the current issue the dealer said i had, was that the catalytic converter was emitting heat and the power steering hose had burned and leaked fluid onto the catalytic converter. They refuse to fix it.i tow the car back to the shop that originally repaired it. They contacted my insurance and were informed that there was a previous recall for this issue in the 2012 chevrolet impala.on 8/11 a recall was issued. This was due to the power steering hose being routed too close to the catalytic converter and the heat was burning the hoses.this was causing engine compartment fires.my vehicle was manufactured 2 months after the recall.i bought the vehicle in april 2013 with 29k miles.it now has 33k miles and the diagnosis given by the dealer is identical to the diagnosis for the recall.but i am told that my vehicle will not be fixed as it did not fall under recall and are blaming the repair done by the collision center.i believe they continued to manufacture 2012 chevrolet impala's with the same issue and are putting people at a continued risk of having a fire start in their vehicle.

I was rotating the tires at home. When replacing the wheels i started and snagged the lug nuts by hand. I went to torque the lug nuts to specifications (100 foot pounds) using a torque wrench. One of the right front lug nuts would not stop turning way before reaching the specified torque. As i continued to turn the wrench, the stud snapped off. One of the lugs/studs next to it also felt suspicious. I took it to the dealer and had all studs and lugs replaced on that wheel as i am afraid there may be a bad batch of studs. The parts have been saved if needed for testing.i was a mechanic in the 1960's and have been doing this work on my own and family vehicles since then. I can not recall ever snapping a stud before.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 5 mph, the power steering failed causing the steering wheel to become very difficulty to turn. The vehicle was taken the dealer, who diagnosed that the power steering line was loose and was rubbing against the frame of the vehicle causing the power steering fluid to leak.

This vehicle is dangerous! ive reported some other mechanical failures that put me in danger but not all and they still have yet to stop happening. Ive spent over 10k repairing and replacing steering, suspension drive train/ drive axle and chassis components. But nothing has helped. As of late i keep getting alignments and replaced 2 tie rods struts control arms and wheel hub and bearings only to have my tires wear down unevenly and quickly in 2 weeks. I purchased the tires brand new 6 months ago. With a new wheels and front outter tie rods as well (which i again replaced 2 weeks ago). Also replaced in 2019; front and back brake assembly (shoes, pads, rotors) front and back (both sides) control arms, left and right front strut and spring assembly. New cv axle and front hub bearingsfull assembly left and right (2 weeks ago)additional left front strut and spring assembly (2 weeks ago).this list is just off the top of my head because there are more repairs; too many.yet, the car keeps loosing steering and falling apart quicker every day. Plus, the inspection expires next month and it did not pass due to emmissions system issues. It is a 2012 & should not be problematic yet. I only keep repairing it because i am still financing since being ripped off by dealership at 23% apr on top of overcharged 2xs blue book. Which has me far too upside down to trade in or even sell privately. I wouldn't sell it to my worse enemy anyway. Chevrolet should have to answer for their failure. Hard working people put trust in manufacturers and depend on their cars. I may lose everything because of mine but not without a fight and legal counsel. My next step is to contact a class action law firm to procure counsel for these matters. Gmc, the nhtsa, and auto repair businesses (ie. Firestone complete auto care) will be contacted regarding the issue as well. Thank you

This vehicle, in early november 2019, at approximately 41,000 miles began making a "popping" noise from the passenger-side front suspension/steering area, primarily while turning left (and sometimes when turning right).the noise became progressively worse over a one month period.suspecting it may be a defective tie rod end (passenger side), i inspected the vehicle (on 12/21/2019) and found that the steering knuckle (at the steering knuckle arm - where it attaches to the passenger tire rod) was fractured/broken, creating a major safety problem (the steering knuckle is fractured at the tie rod knuckle arm, and therefore it appears possible the steering knuckle could sheer off at the tie rod, resulting in total loss of steering control).this vehicle has never been in an accident, or hit any curbs, pot holes, or similar items.i first noticed the problem while making a 90 degree left-hand turn at approximately 15 mph, about 500 feet from my residence (while driving home). The issue/noise has gotten progressively worse since then, and based on my inspection last night it is very obvious that this vehicle is not safe to drive.it appears that the steering knuckle was manufactured incorrectly (it's an original gm part, which appears to have been made of cast aluminum).from my online research, it also appears that a lot of other 2000-2013 chevy impala owners are having the same problem as me.this vehicle, in my opinion, needs to be recalled for this safety issue (bad steering knuckles).also, this is a california vehicle with zero corrosion issues.also, i work as an accident/claims investigator for a major auto insurance company (and therefore have significant knowledge of vehicles, collisions, etc).this vehicle is (by all objective standards) is unsafe to drive, and gm should be required to issue a recall (in my personal and professional opinion).

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while his son was driving 25 mph, the steering wheel was uncontrollable causing the vehicle to crash into the curb. The driver noticed that the lower control arm had fractured. The vehicle was driven to the driver's residence. There were no reported injuries. The contact called koons white marsh chevrolet (10207 philadelphia rd, white marsh, md 21162; (410) 931-8600) however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact stated the failure was like nhtsa campaign number: 11v398000 (steering). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,000.

Takata recallmy car feel like its loosing power when i start it up and the ignition housing need to be replace

Vehicle steering wheel locks and car completely shuts off while driving (in motion)on a busy highway. This vehicle has done this two other times, but not on the exact same date.steering wheel also locks while turning left or right on a busy street.

When i back out of a parking stall or driveway and still have my foot on the brake and then i put it in drive, when i try to turn the wheel to start to drive down the street, it is like i lost power steering and it takes everything in my power with my hands to turn the steering wheel. It feels like the steering wheel locked up. Also when i am starting to pull into a parking stall when the car is barely moving the steering wheel seems to lock up with no power steering and i have difficulty turning the wheel. There are times when i can't get the wheel turned and i'm unable to park in the stall. While driving at normal speeds and when i go to turn, it doesn't matter whether it is turning left or right, the power steering is very stiff and sometimes will stiffen up to the point that i have a hard time turning the wheel. I took into the dealer in 12/2016 and asked them to check it out while they did an oil change to my car and they said all fluids were fine and nothing is wrong. I have come very close to having a wreck when i try to turn and the steering wheel all of a sudden stiffens up so tight that it takes all my strength and power to turn the wheel. It acts like the wheel isn't going to turn. This has been going on for a few months now. There is something definitely wrong with the steering. My 2012 impala only has 17,000 miles on it. I bought the car brand new and i'm afraid to drive it because of this steering issue and not being able to turn the steering wheel. There should be a recall with the 2012 impalas because of this issue. There is definitely a power steering or other issue that is causing the wheel to stiffin up so tight that you can barely turn it.

My car's stabilitrack, barake assist, and traction control lights come on everytime i turn the steering wheel to the left. The car hesitates when giving gas making it for a dangerous situation when getting into traffic

While driving on a city street i noticed the power steering was much harder to turn.

Drove from home, to work, maybe 3 miles. Absolutely no problem. No warning lights or messages on dash. Speed limit is 35mph. For part of the drive, and 25mph the last part. Pulled into the parking lot as usual. Still no problem.slowed to park. As i tried to turn into the parking spot from the main lane, the steering suddenly became impossible to turn. I was turning right, and had to force the wheel. I stopped and checked to make sure i had not stalled, or to see if anything else was wrong.i tried putting the car in park. Then i turned it off and back on. I tried reverse. None of those things made it any better. I inched the car into the parking spot and called my roadside assistance. Had the car towed to baierl chevrolet in wexford, pa. They tell me it will cost me at least $1600 to fix.their representative described the problem as steering, hydraulic, power assist, etc.i did some research and this particular year and model has had recalls for the exact problem i seem to have. Motortrends and carcomplaints.com have documented the problem. It is nhtsa campaign # 11v398000. The dealer i use is a certified gm dealer. Why are they not aware of this problem and why do i have to pay if it is a known defect? thank god this happened in a parking lot, and not while i was out on the highway, or another member of my family was driving. What do you do ifyou are traveling 55mph or more and your steering just quits? now i have to rent a car, as they would not even offer a vehicle to drive over the weekend to get to work and such. Another expense i did not need. I am not sure i want to have this car fixed, but i do need a car to drive. Don't trust that it will be safe.

I was driving down a hill on kalamazoost in lansing mich.my power steering and power brakes stopped working. I pulled on the steering wheel to turn the car into a hedge of bushed on the side of the road. It stopped before i hit them.

Tl * the contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala.while driving 30 mph, the power steering failed without warning.an independent mechanic stated that the power steering line needed to be replaced.the vehicle was repaired and the manufacturer was notified.the failure mileage was 49,341.

I recently read that general motors issued a recallaugust 3, 2012 for 2008 - 2012 chevrolet impalas concerning the suspension.recall # 12v377000 concerns the front lower control arms which, according to the recall may fracture. A fractured lower control arm can result in the loss of control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.this recall, according to gm, only applies to police vehicles.i am writing this message to you to ask what is different about the police vehicles from the non police vehicles which would exclude the non police vehicles from the recall.is this the same type of situation as the gm recall regarding 2007 - 2008 chevrolet impala concerning defective spindles in wheels which gm is trying to limit to police vehicles only but has been shown to apply to all chevrolet impalas?thanks,

Vehicle was stationary. Turned wheel to the right to begin to move. Heard a snapping sound and vehicle only moved about 5 feet and had no control of steering. Found the right tie-rod was broken. Car has 37000 miles on it.car was towed to chev dealer for repair and they said the steering gear also needed to be replaced?? my cost was $1546.19.found a recall #12v377000 on this very problem, but the recall was for police cars only. This doesn't make sense to me and i feel my car should be included in this recall. This tie rod should never have broken and i feel gm should assume the responsibility for this repair. 2012 chev impala.

The vehicle was not diagnosed for the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 8-3209374202. The failure mileage was approximately 86,800.

My car's engine always feels like it's dragging in the front and sounds really really bad like it's about to explode or something it makes a lot of noise and ticking sound as well when i'm driving

Upon arriving at a restaurant location where we planned to dine, my spouse opened the right front passenger door using the inside door handle.while pushing the door open she relaxed her handhold on the handle allowing her right hand pinkie finger to become captured between the retracting handle and the flat area where the handle is attached.it pinched her finger and it immediately formed ablood blister and was very painful.after she explained what happened,i inspected all of the other doors and discovered that it would be possible to replicate her type of injury at any of the inside door handles. I then took a picture of her injury and the problem inside door handle.

Tractor trailer hit a 1/2 school bus which hit us on the drivers side, no air bags went off. Passengers had severe injuries including neck, arms, nerve, hands, shoulder damage.

Trim on passenger door started peeling off car was not it in any way trim is put on with 2 pieces of what look likes double sided tape very disappointed after spending 18,000 dollars

Thank you

My ty rod broke and another part inside the ty rodbroke i am wondering if it had a recall on my car chevrolet impala xl 2012

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, when accelerating and decelerating there would be an abnormal noise coming from the vehicle. The contact mentioned that the failure was interment. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the spider gear failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.

The car keeps shorting out the battery.the starter is sluggish.the traction control light keeps coming on.

Just bought car haven't had any recall maintenance checked by vin

Every time i turnwarning lights for my stablizing system and abs then the brakes starts to lock up sometimes with it also traction control also turn on and off this is every time i drive the car have taken it to 3 dealers no one can find the problem this is every time i start the car and drive on the streets or on the highway.

Notification on dash has been on stating that the airbag deployment system will not deploy. On star has also sent me diagnosticreports stating this is a urgent matter that needs to be fixed

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that there was an unstable motion in the front of the vehicle associated with the suspension of the vehicle. The dealer was notified of the failure and the manufacturer who stated that there was no manufacturer recall and no recommended repair solution to prevent the failure until the vehicle was further tested and diagnosed. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 12v377000 (suspension). The contact was uncertain if the vehicle would be repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

Hub assembly

The contact received a recall noticed for nhtsa campaign id number: 12v377000 (suspension: front: control arm: lower arm). The contact stated that the vehicle was a police patrol car and repairs had not been made due to the parts not being available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was unknown.

In addition, an abnormal grinding sound was heard. Once the vehicle was shut off and restarted, all of the messages and warning indicators turned off. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the speed control sensor in the front driver's side wheel bearing was faulty. The entire wheel bearing was replaced, but the failures continued. The manufacturer stated that there was no recall for the failure. Jack mcnerney chevrolet (363 ny-281, tully, ny 13159, (315) 238-5110) was contacted and wanted to charge the contact over $100 to perform the same diagnostic test as the independent mechanic. I took my vehicle in for service to a recall for the ignition, while there they discovered oil leaking from oil pan gasket, they found problems with the emission.i took it home and when i started it it was accelerated, i took it back and dealer claimed it was not part of the work they did.they charged me 428.00 to repair. The next day i drove the car the idle was at 3 when i started it, took it back to the dealer, they claim they reset the idle, but the idle remains at 1.5 when im driving, and feels accelerated.this all began when they repaired a problem under guarantee.car has 103,000.00 miles.

The air conditioning system stopped providing cold, dry air for a period of about 15 minutes. Then, the cold, dry air returned. The airflow through the vents never decreased, only the temperature and humidity in the cabin changed. This has occurred intermittently throughout the summer of 2014, approximately 20 times.

My car is currently in south korea with me, because i'm stationed here for military purposes. I'm moving back to the states and my car is supposed to ship off august 29th but my car cannot ship with a recall status that reads incomplete status with the vpc center.no dealership in korea can help me with this issue. My recall issue states if the key ring is carrying added weight and the vehicle goes off road or experiences some other jarring event, it may unintentionally move the key away from the "run" position. After calling the chevrolet dealership, i was told a case would be opened in my situation to attempt to close out the recall due to me having he vehicle three years with no issues related to this. It has been a week and i was told that i would be contacted in two days with an answer. Can someone help me in this situation so that my car can be shipped back to america???

The door blend actuators go out constantly.the car has three of them.when they go bad, there is a loud clicking or knocking sound behind the dashboard and the air conditioner and heater stop working.if it's cold, it blows cold air and if it's hot it blows hot air.i have replaced at least 20 actuators.once they go bad, a new one last only a few months, which means there is a deeper issue.the dealer says chevy is aware of the problem and it is a well known issue; however, they have not issued a recall, dealer could not quote a price because they won't know what is wrong until they get in there.dealer suspects chevy won't issue recall because the whole system is faulty and will cost thousands per car to fix.

There's a ticking sound inside the dashboard and it get louder and tick for 5 to 10 min when the car is off and starting up

Loud clicking noise coming from inside the dashboard. The sound is near the driver side passenger side. It happens whenever i unlock the doors or do anything with the air conditioning/heating controls. It goes on for minutes at a time when i first get in the car and happens on and off while i'm driving

When i start my car up from a cold start, i here a rattling noise, and after it gets warm it goes away. Its been doing that ever since i bought the car.as the miles got on the car i thought it might be the catalytic converter.i have 200,000 miles plus

Car lunged into car in front even though my foot on brake.placed car in reverse and it kept going in reverse very fast until car backed up onto a curb!!!it was as if the accelerator got stuck even though foot was on brake.

Have had 5 goodyear eagle ls tires that have broken belts in them.when i got the car it had eagle ls's on it.they all had the same problem and were replaced unfortunately with the same brand of tire.now 1 of the new eagle ls has a broken belt in it and it feels like i have a bent rim.my tire place now is telling me that the eagle lis is junk and does not recommend them again.i will have to replace all the tires again because of the flaw in them.something should be done about this before someone gets hurt of killed with the junk tires.goodyear offered no replacement discounts or help with this problem per the tire shop.

Opening driver door ticking sound lasts about 1 minute and quits ticking.key is not in ignition.sound is coming from dashboard

When a window is rolled down in the vehicle there is a horrible vibration inside of the car that actually causes a headache.even if we roll down two it doesn't help.

The rear impact bar on my 2012 impala is rotted out, not just rusted, rotted. It offers no protection in a rear end collision. I bought the car new and the rest of the car is still pretty clean with very minor rust in the body seams.

Takata recall

I was driving on a residential road and i took a turn onto a different residential road and right after i started to accelerate the check engine light came on. Right after, the service stabilitrak and service traction control light came on. The car started sputtering and when i started to stop the brakes locked on and off as i came to a stop. It continued to sputter every time i accelerated and the brakes continued to lock every time i had to engage them. I could barely get the car to drive faster than 25 mph. Once i got home i popped the hood and the engine seemed to be shaking.

Hub assembly

While driving my car highway speed was 65mph, at that rate of speed my vehicle was picking up speed and when i went to press on my brakes, it was if i was driving on ice and my car was skidding. Two days later i stopped for gas and my car wouldn't start, after my 3rd attempt, it stuttered hard time turning over. Once it did i turned it off but the car was still running.i did this several times. Very scared to drive my car back home because i'm out of town. My lights says i have low right tire pressure but i don't, it's back left tire for some odd reason.

I have had to replace pins on wiper arms twice in about 6 months since i bought the car. Is there a recall on these wiper arms?

The engine died in a hard rain, wipers quit, flashers came on, windows went up and down, cd player quitand radio came on, then flashers went off. Windows would not go back up soaking the inside of the doors.this is my wife's car and now she is afraid to drive it. I called the dealer twice and got a recording asking me to leave a brief message. If they don't have time to answer the phone, how long will it take to fix it?

The windshield has a curve to it that skews your perspective of the road. The car was a rental, and after just an hour of driving, my eyes hurt, and i got a headache. This seems like a poor design issue, and out concerned me for those who may actually own the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. When the rear defroster was activated, it burned and melted one of the plugs coming from the engine. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to an independent dealer or mechanic. The contact repaired the vehicle himself, but the failure recurred. The vin and failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. While driving approximately 30 mph, the rear driver side wheel made a thud sound. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the spare tire screws inside the trunk were tightened; however, the failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer again. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14v355000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 12,000.

Abs light comes on stabiltrac light comes on brakes pulse and grindon occasion don't want to stop at times like your on ice

The first time was in dec. 2013. Everytime i backed up i heard a clunk. I took it to the dealership and was told it was a bad right rear wheel hub. I was in luck because it was covered by my extended warranty minus the 100.00 deductible. The car only had 40,000 miles on it. The second time was today,3/14/2014. I went in for a state inspection and was told that the right front hub was bad. The warranty covered it again. The car only has 42,190 on it. Only 2000 miles between occurrences. Something is seriously wrong here. Also i was just told of a recall on the power steering hose. Does this include my 2012 impala?

70,000 miles, stabiltrak warning on startup and engine power loss.error message was about a sensor, replaced the hub and the wiring harness to fix.so far no more problems but i've seen this issue countless times and i'm surprised there wasn't a recall yet.

Thank you

All 4 and 1 replacement tire or the original factory installed goodyear eagletiresfailed due to belt seperation from the tread. One was a major failure at highway speed and l had to make an emergency exit off of the highwayand get itreplaced while on a trip away from home. All tiresfailed before rhe 30,000 mile rating. Rhe first one failed before 10,000 miles. Purxhased car from redriver chevrolet shreveport/bossier city, la.

The tires continually loose air.the dealer way back when said tires were my expense.took it to discount tire and they said the rims are not smooth enough for a tight seal.i need to add air every 2 weeks without fail.now i'm past the 36 month warranty.

My car's engine always feels like it's dragging in the front and sounds really really bad like it's about to explode or something it makes a lot of noise and ticking sound as well when i'm driving

The contact owns a 2012 chevrolet impala. While driving at various speeds and making a left turn, the vehicle would independently switch to traction control mode. In addition, an abnormal sound was coming from the brakes of the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure would occur intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the abs wiring harness and the wheel hub would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 44,000.
