There are 3 doors on the passenger side the one that has the 2 doors for the people in the back to get out that the door with the handle that is in the inside will open but scrapes the outer metal frame.this door did open and work fully until one day and i don't know what happen i wanted to open it and it wouldn't open. I didn't want to force it nor knock any more paint off. I don't know if it is the hinge itself or something else.when i bought it in 1999 don't know how long it was but mark 3 went out of business so i don't know if there was a recall or not . Also when the t.v and vcr are on or just the t.v. Is onit will only play for about 30 minutes before it will kick off and everything will not work including reading lights and tv and vcr. There is a relay switch to reset it and then it will work. I went to dealer and they told me about 400 bucks to repair it . They didn't know what the problem could be. This part isbelowthe headunit that is in back of the drivers side on the console. It is forthe people in the back can listen to music or play video games if intended to do so.

Driver seat support bracket cracks causing seat too either slip forward or backward. I have replaced it several times, cracks at base of support hinge.

We own both a 1998 and 2000 express van and we have a problem with both of them with regards to the side passenger doors (the 'double' doors). We have had a dealer drill holes in the hinges to lubricate them as they seize up and become very hard to open and close. This is just a temporary and eventually an ineffective fix. I believe this is a safety hazard as we have 6 children of which 3 have to sit in the back seat and if there were to be an emergency we wouldn't be able to get the left door open to get the kids out faster.

I have a 2000 chevy express 1500 van.the side doors have become increasing hard to open and shut. Finally one day they would not close and the door appears to be warped or out of alignment.after taking the van to a body shop they told me the hinge pins on the doors have seized up and there is no way to lubricate them.he said the repair is about $1,000 to repair the door which involves cutting off the old hinges and welding on ew ones. The body shop said this is a common failure that gm is aware of but will not change, fix or stand behind if out of warranty.i feel this is unacceptable and that gm even though they know they have a problem continues to manufacture a faulty part.i seek reimbursement for my repair costs.
