While i was driving the light on my dash told me to check air bags.it would nutmeg off.i took it to rydell chevrolet and they told me that the "switch" was not working and my air bags were inoperable.they also told me that the repair was not covered and would cost me over $900.00.in was furious and spoke to chevrolet customer service .they told me that they would talk to the dealer.they gave me $70.00 off.i will never purchase another gm product again.i still think that they should have fixed it at no charge because of the mileage on the suv.
I had passed out while driving to work due to low blood sugar. The front of my vehicle crashed into a structure at approximately 55/60 mph. None of my airbags ever deployed. I was transported to the hospital.
Air bag passenger light always flashes "passenger airbag off" even when an adult sits on the passenger seat. Dealer said thiscomputer module problem is not covered under recent recalls or warranty and that charge will be about $1000.00. I think that this should be covered by general motors. Air bag has never deployed.
I am filing my complaint due to some re-accruing issues that i continuously have with my truck i just bought in june of 2017. I have problems with the car overheated needle fluctuations and shutting down on me. The air bags does not work for the passenger seat and there are a couple of sensors that are on and constantly stays on when cranking the car and driving. I also have problems when i turn the wheel to the right hearing a rubbing graining noise also hear a trickling noise when pressing the gas to go. I have had my car worked on by a mechanic twice. Had my radiator flushed thermostat replaced and anti-freeze take flushed and still the same issues. My coolan fan causes my battery to go dead and have to get a jump start more than once. This issue happens while driving sitting or even on the highway. I'm taking the car back to the dealer to see if they can figure the issue out.

I'm reporting this because i saw an expose on the takata airbags and gm was mentioned. I've seen similar complaints online for this model but no recalls are shown. There are other 2009 gms that have recalls issued. A body shop told us we should contact the dealer for an estimate because there were recalls on their airbags but the dealer said there are none. I'm taking the vehicle to the dealer for a free estimate after notifying them the crack has been developing for some time and we've been waiting on a recall.

Two months after repair of vehicle, granddaughter reported that car veered to right and she could not control the car. She hit a pole and the car suffered severe damage and none of the air bags deployed. She suffered a concussion and bruises. Pictures of interior and exterior are available.

Periodically with an adult in the passenger seat the right airbag "off" light will illuminate.the passenger can move and bounce around on the seat without turning the light to "on".this problem has been reported to the dealership on several occasions and each time they have found no problem.the last time was may 25, 2012 after i had taken the auto by the dealership while the "off" light was on and there was an adult in the passenger seat.the "off" light was confirmed by the service manager, but the technicians found no problem with the system.the only suggestion received was a *.pdf document from gm describing what to do when this occurs as follows:1.turn vehicle off2. Remove any additional material from the seat.....3. Place the seatback in the fully upright position4. Have the person sit upright in the seat, centered on the seat cushion, with legs comfortably extended5. Restart the vehicle and have the person remain in this position for two or three minutes after the on indicator is lit.not only are the preceding instruction enormous and difficult to perform when in a normal driving scenario, it would seem that the necessity of performing these reset operations indicates a system fault that needs to be resolved, particularly if the air bag is indeed off when the indicator says it is "off".also, the very fact that gm has deemed it necessary to issue these instructions indicate that the problem is known by gm.that being the case it is a safety hazard that needs to be fixed.
Passenger airbag will turn off while driving and with a passenger in the seat. Service airbag warning displayed in information center. This now occurs even while stationary. Can no longer have a passenger in that seat while driving.
The airbag sensor light comes on and off and after review of this info online there are so many complaints against this same issue not sure why no one will look into the recall needed for these airbags the dealer is saying it will 1200 to replace sensor light put in by manufacturer this is insane amount of money needed to keep people safe on the ride this is must have item in a car

The passenger airbag seat sensor is faulty and doesn't turn on the passenger air bag when there is an occupant. This is a violation of fmvss 208.
My airbag light and 'service air bag' light and abs light and stabalize track light were all on for a few week and i took it to local shop who said the sensor for the brakes under driver seat was bad so that cost $580.00 for new module.that took care of abs/stabilize lights.had to to go dealer for airbag lights and they charged $1070.00 because the airbag module under passenger seat was out and had to replace (part 560 plus labor).i don't feel like i should have had to pay for the airbags!!the airbag lights were on for about 6 months and never went off so i finally got tired of it...no matter if someone was sitting in seat or not, or whether it was idle, in motion, etc.
Service air bag appears everytime i start car.took it to the dealer and it is going to cost over $700 to get it fixed.they told me the part was over $600.also i had to fix it because it was illegal to leave it as it was.what i need to know, is there any recall notice that could help me?my husband and i are both retired and on a fixed income. Takata recall. I see that the 2009 chevy equinox is not on the schedule to be recalled, however, there are so many with the same airbag problem. It's a scandal that they are able to get away with not recalling. Same problem with the stabillink, traction control and abs lights. It is a problem for all of these vehicles!
The airbag sensor light stays on intermittently and when it does, the passenger airbag says "off" and notification message says "service passenger airbag". Every shop i have to take it to says they see no problems, but a dealer has to take a look. This started happening in 2018 and has been happening since. I have been reading that this is problem for this model of equinox around this time in its life.the stable track is similar. Every so often, it stops working but then most of the time is fine.
My car stopped in the middle of the highway due to the computer system and my airbag light has been on since i bought the car.

Stability traction control light came on with other warning lights (can't remember specifically what they said) as i was driving 40 mph.car slowed down to about 20 and would not go any further.fortunately i was able to get it to the dealership and it was repaired.since then, i've had nothing but troubles.the warning light for the same will come on periodically but only as i start the car .. Maybe 1x every 3 months without any other problems.the electrical in the car is [xxx].my automatic driver side window will not function at all.the rear wiper no longer works.sound on the driver side no longer works. Electric door lock no longer works on driver side i have to manually lock that door.i've had my car broken into because it appeared unlocked. Having problems with my driver side door electric window and door locks not functioning properly or not at all.i have someknowledge of electrical systems so i started troubleshooting the problem. After 5 minutes i found the source of the problem to be completely broken wires that are part of the wiring harness right before it goes through the driver side door and protected by a rubber boot/sleeve . Almost all wires that are part of the wiring harness at this location were either broken as i mentioned or the insulation was so bridle and cracked that the copper wire strands were exposed. This is in a tight spot and would be hard to splice.i took apicture to support what i am writing and i've attached it. I believe this is an electrical fire hazard if the exposed wires ever come in contact with chassis ground.
Our vehicle's radio began to not shut off after the driver side door was opened, and the keys were out of the ignition.we brought it to the dealership and was convinced that it was either the door switch or the radio.having a major guard protection plan, the radio wasn't to be covered and the door switch would.i chose not to have the problem fixed thinking that we'd continue to shut the radio off.it wasn't until the driver side power window stopped working and i replaced the motor (to no avail) and did some research online did i find that similar owners had the same symptoms.i eventually researched and found that the electrical pathway from the car body to the door caused the wires inside to stretch, crack, and break.the 2 wires that were broken were the door sensor wire and the power window wire.taking it back to parkway chevrolet to have them research this and diagnose, their remedy was to have the wires re-saulder.i would like for the wiring harness be replaced.looks and seems like there's a major electrical issue with this vehicle.there should be a recall for the malfunction.
In 2015, i took my car to monument chevrolet and told the dealership that my car is not unlocking the doors when i am using the remote. I had to use my key to unlock my driver side door manually and the reach over to unlock the other doors. Before the dealership even ran a diagnosis test, they told me that it was my lock mechanism and it was going to cost me $300.00 per door to find the problem.i decline and told them i will do it the old fashion way by using the key.it looks and seems like the dealership knew there was a existing problem with this model vehicle as quickly as they quoted me a price without even looking at the problem and that there is a major electrical issue with this vehicle. There should be a recall for the malfunction. Now its over a year and i still have to unlock my car the old fashion way even after i changed the battery in the remote.
I have heat problems, i have put $1,200 into the repairs and to no avail there still is a problem
When i hit 20-30 mph the suv has ahesitation and then i have the check engine light on and then servicestabilitrek and ther is another i forget what it says and when i turn sometimes the whole dash lights up
We have had a problem with the key gettingstuck in the ignition for some time now. Some times it takes several minutes of working with it before it will come out. I have taken it back to superior chevrolet of siloam springs two times and have spent a total of $720.72 and it's still not fixed. They told me they had something else to try but it would cost an additional $200 to $300 dollars and it still might not be fix. After charging me this much for what should be a simple fix they should make sure it repaired on their own time.
On thursday 3/19/2015 as was driving to work i noticed that on the dashboard that the stabilitraking off, service traction controlled and service stabilitraking and engine power is reduced.on my way home there was no message on the dash, but the next day 3/20/2015 on my way to work that same message came on and it stayed on, so i took it to a garage and they tried to diagnose what was wrong and they could not fin out what it was and they told me to take it to the dealer.
Window driver side working intermittently, pressed switch to lower window heard a pop and drivers side headlight was out window did not go down window still will not go down and the driver side power mirror will not function as well drivers side headlight has been replaced 3 times with in 5 weeks when you press the window down button or open the door the head light will blow and the passenger side window is working intermittently as well you have to open the door to put it up if it is in the down position.

The driver side power window stopped functioning.was unable to open the window with the control.it was discovered that if the door was opened the control functioned.i took this vehicle to the blaise alexander dealership in muncy, pa for repairs.i was told that the wire that controlled this function was "crimped" and needed to be repaired.i was also told that the other wires (6 in all) were going to fail eventually.after searching the web for like problems i determined that this is not an isolated incident.my concerns are if this wiring fails and the window doesn't open or the power door lock doesn't function in case of an accident the drivers ability to escape the vehicle will be compromised.if the should occur and there is a fire or other issue it could result in injury or more.

I was recently in a vehicle accident. My vehicle shut off as i was driving and in route of a traffic light. As a result of my vehicle shutting off, i had no brakes and was therefore unable to prevent my vehicle from proceeding through a red light. I then hit a tow truck and was t boned. On september 25, 2014, i was headed home from work traveling 45 miles per hour when the message stabilitraking off appeared on the dashboard. It was a clear and sunny day. As i continued to drive, my vehicle began to loose power and proceeded to slow down as i was in route. I immediately pulled to the side of the road and dashboard message was flashing stabilitraking off, service traction control, service stabilitraking, engine power is reduced then the engine shutdown and would not turnover. It would not make a sound. I called onstar service for towing. They did a diagnostic check at my request and the following codes were given: p0502, p0513, p0606 and p0700. After 45 minutes of waiting beside the road, i attempted to start the vehicle again and it cranked. However, still flashing the same messages above; it would not pick speed. The engine light never went off. I was only able to travel about 25 miles per hour and made it home safely. I had to have a towing company tow it from my yard to the dealer. I picked it up two days later from the dealer. They were unable to duplicate the problems, could find nothing wrong, cleared all codes and i picked up my vehicles and went home with no answers.

Upon making a left turn from highway into parking lot, approximate speed 15-20mph, the stabilitrak illuminated, then the message power has been reduced, which was what was happening and the check engine light illuminated.got vehicle parked and shut engine off.let vehicle rest for 30 minutes.started vehicle, after normal dashboard sequence, check engine light remained on, stabilitrak light came on briefly.was able to drive vehicle with some reduced handling, engine light remained on.after vehicle sat for 2 days, went back out to take to dealer, however, check engine light went off, no stabilitrak message lit up.vehicle has performed well for past 2 weeks, with some minor hesitations.
Chevy eqanox recall.when raining or on wet roadsor snow this light pops upand says engine reducing powerand saysservice stability track then shuts the car down i think that this is a recall because several of individuals i kno have chevys and have this issue i took to dealership they never. While driving in the highway, vehicle warnings suddenly turned on indication that stabili-trac and traction control went off and needed to be serviced. At this time engine lost power and vehicle was sluggish when accelerator pedal was pressed.
Car hesitated, slowed down, lost power. Warning lights included stabilitrak off, traction control off, and reduced engine power. Repair was to clean throttle body.jan of 2014, (83,000 miles) same problem occurred, and throttle body cleaned at dealer after diagnostics. March 1, 2014 (85000 miles) while on interstate 80 same warnings came on but i lost all engine power although the car was in gear and the car rpms would go up with pressing the gas petal, and semi almost hit me from behind.car was brought to shoulder, stopped turned off and reset with restarting the engine..i left the interstate and made a left turn, the car sputtered and hesitated, and oncoming traffic almost hit me.reduced engine power warning then came on along with stabiltrak and traction control off messages.on the way to the dealer it occurred several times. And i had to restart the car after turning it off.the dealer stated that the throttle body had to be replaced. They had a 1 month wait time for the part? when i brought the car injanuary, the cars ahead and behind me had the same problem. A lady at the service counter also had the same problem.it is not a coincidence that 4 of us at the same time had that problem.
On tuesday, october 14, 2014, i was leaving work headed to my physical therapy appointment. It was a rainy day. While in route, a message appeared on the dashboard: stabilitraking off. I proceeded to turn right and get into the left turning lane heading to my appointment. Once, i got into the turning lane the dashboard message was flashing: stabilitraking off, service traction control, service stabilitraking and engine power is reduced. The vehicle shuts down. I attempted start the vehicle and it moved a few inches then shutdown. About a few minutes later, i attempted a second time to turn it on. Once again, it moved about a few more inches and shutdown. When i attempted a third time, the vehicle would not turn over. I called onstar for assistance, they contacted 911 because i was a dangerous intersection. On september 25, 2014, i was headed home from work traveling 45 miles per hour when the message stabilitraking off appeared on the dashboard. It was a clear and sunny day. As i continued to drive, my vehicle began to loose power and proceeded to slow down as i was in route. I immediately pulled to the side of the road and dashboard message was flashing stabilitraking off, service traction control, service stabilitraking, engine power is reduced then the engine shutdown and would not turnover. It would not make a sound. I called onstar service for towing. They did a diagnostic check at my request and the following codes were given: p0502, p0513, p0606 and p0700. After 45 minutes of waiting beside the road, i attempted to start the vehicle again and it cranked. However, still flashing the same messages above; it would not pick speed. The engine light never went off. I was only able to travel about 25 miles per hour and made it home safely. I had to have a towing company tow it from my yard to the dealer. I picked it up two days later from the dealer. They were unable to duplicate the problems, could find nothing wrong, cleared all codes and i picked up my vehicles and went home with no answers.
When you drive it the transmisson won't shift out of second gear. It makes it hard to get anywhere.it only haw 110,000 miles on it and just had the timing chain done on it and the day went to get it was on my way home and won't come out of 2nd gear.

Vehicle displayed will in motion merging on to the highway. That when you take off a delay happens at over 4000 rpms or at anytime you try to go over 4000rpms. Its like the engine cuts off or loses acceleration an stays at 40 mph and will not accelerate until the gauge for rpms goes back down under 4000 rpms. Then the engine will start to accelerate again like a normal vehicle until you try to pickup speed or accelerate over 4000 rpms.

The throttle body went bad in my car for the 2nd time in 3 years.i had the throttle body replaced in january of 2011, after only owning the car a month.it now needs replaced again today in january of 2014.i press the gas peddle and car doesn't go anywhere, then all of the sudden it will take off and runs as if the engine is being pushed and pulled.it also stalled out on me once while driving it.this is a safety hazard when sitting in the middle of an intersection to make a left turn and the car will not go forward.

And i had to restart the car after turning it off.the dealer stated that the throttle body had to be replaced. They had a 1 month wait time for the part? when i brought the car injanuary, the cars ahead and behind me had the same problem. I am filing my complaint due to some re-accruing issues that i continuously have with my truck i just bought in june of 2017. I have problems with the car overheated needle fluctuations and shutting down on me. The air bags does not work for the passenger seat and there are a couple of sensors that are on and constantly stays on when cranking the car and driving. I also have problems when i turn the wheel to the right hearing a rubbing graining noise also hear a trickling noise when pressing the gas to go. I have had my car worked on by a mechanic twice. Had my radiator flushed thermostat replaced and anti-freeze take flushed and still the same issues. My coolan fan causes my battery to go dead and have to get a jump start more than once. This issue happens while driving sitting or even on the highway. I'm taking the car back to the dealer to see if they can figure the issue out.

The timing chain and guides went bad at only 110k miles. And if it was recalled like the 2009 chevy traverse was then i wouldn't have had to fix it. It has the same motor. It is the 3.6l motor. Because it is the sports model. It was throwing p0008 p0018 p0017 and two transmission codes so i believe the transmission is bad now. It is throwing codes p0752 and p0700.

I was recently in a vehicle accident. My vehicle shut off as i was driving and in route of a traffic light. As a result of my vehicle shutting off, i had no brakes and was therefore unable to prevent my vehicle from proceeding through a red light. I then hit a tow truck and was t boned. My vehicle was totaled as a result and myself and my 2 children were transported to our local emergency room due to injuries. Previous months i've had a issue with the vehicle shutting off while driving. All the gauges went down and the vehicles' engine was appeared to be shut off. I also have had the vehicles engine remain running after turning the vehicle off and removing the keys from my ignition.i would try turning it on and off several times to get the engine to eventually shut off and would have several failed attempts.
I was driving at a speed of 40 mph when i slowed to make a right turn. The stabilitrak notification stated that it was "off trak" and to service "traction control" and that "engine speed is reduced". I could drive no faster than 5 mph. I pulled over and turned my car off for a few minutes. When i started it back up the speed was normal again but the engine light remained lit and solid. This is the second time in 2 years that this problem has occurred. I took it to the dealership where i purchased the vehicle brand new concerning the first incident about 18 months after purchase. I was told that i had a bad throttle body. The part was supposedly replaced but i was not given the bad part so i am not sure that the work was actually done since there was a debate about who was going to pay for the service. Now, the same problem is happening again.

Fuel line of vehicle is leaking fuel somewhere near the fuel pump or fuel tank. Fuel will drip from under the vehicle and accumulate. Vehicle constantly smells of fuel and takes a long time to start as a result of the fuel line having no initial pressure. Constant fuel leak poses a danger to our home and other vehicles on the road not to mention our personal safety.

Went to get gasoline put $40.00 in tank started up car the engine light came on and the fuel gauge showed empty (did not move) went directly to my mechanic he checked it out and stated it was a fuel sensor in the fuel tank.....cost for this is at least $400.00 or more to fix my engine light remains on and i have to check my mileage right now to make sure i fill up with gas since the gage no longer works i can not afford this to happen this car is a 2009 i take very good care of it and did not expect such an expense so soon!!!!! is there any type of recall on this problem on the 2009 chevrolet equinox still paying on this and i am not very happy right now!!! please let me know if there is anything to correct this problem other than taking this out of my pocket thank you

My 2009 chevy equinox is slowing down when i reach 4 rpms and will not speed back up until i go back down to 3 rpms no matter how fast or slow i an going once it reaches 4 rpms it slows down. When i shut the car off something is still running under the hold because i can hear it. It was 10 minutes before it finally shut off completely.
I bought this equinox in texas used with 24,071 miles on it. Drove it back to ohio with no problems what's so ever. Then with 43,396 miles, the ignition wires started to fail. Ironically i received a notice from gm thatthey would pay for this repair had i had it done at a shop.being a gm and ups mechanic,no one touches my vehicles or family's but me! napa had the wires[$22.00} an i installed them in less than 20mins.around 52000 miles i noticed a wheel bearing sound or flat spot in tire sound from left side. I'm thing gm should have solved this issue by now,so i was thinking new tires after vacation. When we came home from myrtle beach the sound intensified to where i jacked up the front on to jack stands,set park brake, started engine an put it in gear. I put my stethoscope on front bearing an found the left frt making all kinds of noise by this time.i called around an found a timken replacement at autozone for 259.99-3yr.warranty an at same time replaced the frt pads an resurfaced the rotors. So with all said, left frt bearing an pads $302.79. The bearing replacement makes the car ride an handle like new again. My wife drives this car 80+ miles a day to an from work,so it has to be safe an reliable an grand kids all over the place on weekends.funny that i got no vibrating feeling in steering wheel like on the older gm's that i had with same problem.

On going issue with traction control/stabilitrak system.intermittently a warning will come up on dash stating . . . Traction control off - service stabilitrak.most times, once you shut the engine off and then start it back up the warning will go away.recently the warning has remained on dash and neither the traction control or anti-lock brakes have functioned.two months ago the egr valve was replaced. Over a year ago the wiring harness to the egr valve was replaced.now the stupid thing is acting up again and headed to the shop for about the twelfth time for this one issue.this has got to be one of the unsafest and scary vehicles i have ever driven.never know when your anti-lock brakes and traction control will stop working or if your going to loose engine power at a critical time when driving.
Airbag warning light on - took to mechanic yesterday and they found the following "b0074 & b0081 set. Diagnosed and found passenger presence module internally failed". They told me it's a 800+ repair.called dealer priority cheverolet in chesapeake virginia and they said to check connections below seat as they sometimes come loose.as an engineer i find it hard to believe that such a vital life saving device would have such an easy single point failure to be so easy to come loose as by simple moving the seat. When you observe the switch module below the seat it is just there dangling!this needs to get rolled up as a recall.

My airbag light and 'service air bag' light and abs light and stabalize track light were all on for a few week and i took it to local shop who said the sensor for the brakes under driver seat was bad so that cost $580.00 for new module.that took care of abs/stabilize lights.had to to go dealer for airbag lights and they charged $1070.00 because the airbag module under passenger seat was out and had to replace (part 560 plus labor).i don't feel like i should have had to pay for the airbags!!the airbag lights were on for about 6 months and never went off so i finally got tired of it...no matter if someone was sitting in seat or not, or whether it was idle, in motion, etc.
1.i was driving the car home from the airport. As i approached an intersection with a stop traffic signal, i put my foot on the brake pedal, however, the car continued to travel without slowing down. I kept pressing the brake pedal as far as i could but the car continued at the same speed. As i entered the intersection i swerved sharply to the right to avoid hitting any vehicles, however, i sideswiped a vehicle on my left and finally came to a stop when i hit a road barrier on the right.2. When a wrecker came to haul my car away, the brakes worked for him as he maneuvered it to the bed of his vehicle. The wrecker took my car to my home. When he put my car on the ground. I was able to drive it into my garage and the brakes were working at that time.3. My car is presently in my garage and i am awaiting the insurance appraiser prior to having the brakes inspected and my car repaired.

When trying to turn off the car, the key gets stuck in the auxiliary position.chevy has made a bypass switch under the steering wheel to release the key as this is a known problem which is common with the cobalt, hhr & equinox.it is documented on the chevy forum website.i am at dealership now to get this fixed.
2009 chevy equinox awd has steering problem. When turning left or right at normal speeds for turns, the power steering seems to lose power and very hard to turn as it seems the power steering ends. It recovers but intermittently. Does not happen on all turns but usually happens many times in a day. Happens during cool or warm days and all kinds of other weather situations. I have read that other gm vehicles are being recalled due to this type of problem. Seems to be a voltage drop and their fix is a software update. This issue is being experienced by many chevy equinox owners. The turns get hard and then seems to recover when accelerating into the turn. This has to be a voltage drop issue or similar. This can cause.an accident if it occurs at the wrong time. Please.help get a recall.on this.

Paint peeling off car like sheets of wallpaper.when i took my car to dealer where i bought it i was told we know about the problem.i was told that is a big problem with these cars and it is a defect in the paint and that is was not warranitied by dealer or manufacture. If it is a knownproblem why is it not being taken care of?

On thanksgiving morning in preparation for a three hour drive i began to put air in the right rear tire of my chevy equinox because the pressure sensor was showing it a few pounds lower than the other tires.when i removed the fill hose, the aluminum (cast i think) valve stem end broke off with the valve mechanism itself and the tire rapidly deflated.no unusual force was applied to the valve with the portable air pump i have used numerous times on this and other car tires.there was no accident because the valvefailed while the car was in my driveway (something else to be thankful for that day!).i just read wherea similar vehicle (ford escape i believe) experienced a valve stem failure that apparently contributed to a roll over and fatality.although a rubber valve stem cracked in the fordcase, the rapid deflation would be the same in my case had i been driving - and the potential drastic results could have been the same.i had the valve replaced for $156.00.although i preferred to replace it with a rubber one, i was told the state of rhode island inspection would fail since the absence of the remote sensor would cause a dash-board warning light.the technician said the valve cracked due to corrosion - in a four year old car!

My 2009 chevy equinox is slowing down when i reach 4 rpms and will not speed back up until i go back down to 3 rpms no matter how fast or slow i an going once it reaches 4 rpms it slows down. When i shut the car off something is still running under the hold because i can hear it. It was 10 minutes before it finally shut off completely.
I am filing my complaint due to some re-accruing issues that i continuously have with my truck i just bought in june of 2017. I have problems with the car overheated needle fluctuations and shutting down on me. The air bags does not work for the passenger seat and there are a couple of sensors that are on and constantly stays on when cranking the car and driving. I also have problems when i turn the wheel to the right hearing a rubbing graining noise also hear a trickling noise when pressing the gas to go. I have had my car worked on by a mechanic twice. Had my radiator flushed thermostat replaced and anti-freeze take flushed and still the same issues. My coolan fan causes my battery to go dead and have to get a jump start more than once. This issue happens while driving sitting or even on the highway. I'm taking the car back to the dealer to see if they can figure the issue out.

The passenger airbag seat sensor is faulty and doesn't turn on the passenger air bag when there is an occupant. This is a violation of fmvss 208.
Takata recall. I see that the 2009 chevy equinox is not on the schedule to be recalled, however, there are so many with the same airbag problem. It's a scandal that they are able to get away with not recalling. Same problem with the stabillink, traction control and abs lights. It is a problem for all of these vehicles!
The timing chain and guides went bad at only 110k miles. And if it was recalled like the 2009 chevy traverse was then i wouldn't have had to fix it. It has the same motor. It is the 3.6l motor. Because it is the sports model. It was throwing p0008 p0018 p0017 and two transmission codes so i believe the transmission is bad now. It is throwing codes p0752 and p0700.

On october 16, 2014, i went to the dealer to pickup my vehicle still with no answers to why the dashboard message is reading: stabilitraking off, service traction control, service stabilitraking and engine power is reduced. Then the engine shuts down. As i was pulling off the dealership lot, the engine light starting flashing rapidly, vehicle began to loose power, it was backfiring and smelled of a foul odor. The sales manager came outside to drive the vehicle and the vehicle continued to loose engine power. By the time he came back inside to speak with us, he stated that he could no longer turn the vehicle on. He stated that it would not turnover at all. I am now awaiting the findings and grateful to god that problem happened again on the dealer's lot and not in rush hour traffic.
Vehicle displayed will in motion merging on to the highway. That when you take off a delay happens at over 4000 rpms or at anytime you try to go over 4000rpms. Its like the engine cuts off or loses acceleration an stays at 40 mph and will not accelerate until the gauge for rpms goes back down under 4000 rpms. Then the engine will start to accelerate again like a normal vehicle until you try to pickup speed or accelerate over 4000 rpms.

Repair was to clean throttle body.jan of 2014, (83,000 miles) same problem occurred, and throttle body cleaned at dealer after diagnostics. March 1, 2014 (85000 miles) while on interstate 80 same warnings came on but i lost all engine power although the car was in gear and the car rpms would go up with pressing the gas petal, and semi almost hit me from behind.car was brought to shoulder, stopped turned off and reset with restarting the engine..i left the interstate and made a left turn, the car sputtered and hesitated, and oncoming traffic almost hit me.reduced engine power warning then came on along with stabiltrak and traction control off messages.on the way to the dealer it occurred several times. Upon making a left turn from highway into parking lot, approximate speed 15-20mph, the stabilitrak illuminated, then the message power has been reduced, which was what was happening and the check engine light illuminated.got vehicle parked and shut engine off.let vehicle rest for 30 minutes.started vehicle, after normal dashboard sequence, check engine light remained on, stabilitrak light came on briefly.was able to drive vehicle with some reduced handling, engine light remained on.after vehicle sat for 2 days, went back out to take to dealer, however, check engine light went off, no stabilitrak message lit up.vehicle has performed well for past 2 weeks, with some minor hesitations.
On tuesday, october 14, 2014, i was leaving work headed to my physical therapy appointment. It was a rainy day. While in route, a message appeared on the dashboard: stabilitraking off. I proceeded to turn right and get into the left turning lane heading to my appointment. Once, i got into the turning lane the dashboard message was flashing: stabilitraking off, service traction control, service stabilitraking and engine power is reduced. The vehicle shuts down. I attempted start the vehicle and it moved a few inches then shutdown. About a few minutes later, i attempted a second time to turn it on. Once again, it moved about a few more inches and shutdown. When i attempted a third time, the vehicle would not turn over. I called onstar for assistance, they contacted 911 because i was a dangerous intersection. They also contacted chevrolet roadside assistance for towing. The police arrived and pushed my vehicle off to the side of the road to safety until the towing company arrived. The vehicle still would not start. About 25 to 30 minutes later my husband arrived and started the vehicle with not problem, but the same messages appeared. On thursday, october 15, 2014, dealer contacted me and stated that my vehicle was ready for pickup and could not duplicate the problem nor read the gm codes. They cleared all codes and recommended that i take it to a chevrolet dealer for a diagnostic.
The throttle body went bad in my car for the 2nd time in 3 years.i had the throttle body replaced in january of 2011, after only owning the car a month.it now needs replaced again today in january of 2014.i press the gas peddle and car doesn't go anywhere, then all of the sudden it will take off and runs as if the engine is being pushed and pulled.it also stalled out on me once while driving it.this is a safety hazard when sitting in the middle of an intersection to make a left turn and the car will not go forward.

While driving, the chrome clad wheel cover that was supposed to have been machine pressed on to the aluminum 17 inch rim, shot off the rim towards incoming traffic.we were going approximately 35 miles per hour.it flew off and almost hit a car passing us.two months later another one came off, but i was able to retrieve it before we were in traffic.this could have caused damage to another vehicle or pedestrian walking beside the car.doing on-line research a number of additional owners of the 2009 equinox with the chrome clad covers have had similar issues.
