Chevrolet corvette.consumer writes in regards to vehicle fire.the consumer stated after putting the cover on the vehicle and leaving outside over night, the next morning he discovered the vehicle was on fire and smoldering with smoke.he grabbed a hose and quickly put it out and called 911. The fire department was unable to determine the cause the of the fire. However, the consumer decided to hire a forensic arson vehicle investigator who determined the cause of the fire was an electrical malfunction in the fuel filler door. Updated 10/16/14.
Pirate manufacturing sells 4 hole spacer for aftermarket holley carb. On amazon.com.upon purchase from amazon; notice that the part was not within specs the matching carb. Part and would interfere with carb. Butterfly opening.this part did not also fit easily within the four studs of the intake manifold.out of tolerance part might jam the carb throttle plate open; uncontrolled acceleration would result.
Attorney representing 40 consumers requests nhtsa to investigate a dangerous valve manufacturing defect in 2006-2015 corvettes z06 l27 and 427 engines .the consumer stated the defect results in excessive engine valve noise, and then catastrophic engine failure, even on vehicles with very few miles on the odometer.the catastrophic engine failure which results from the defect, results in a mechanical breakdown within the engine which could blow a hole in the engine up to six inches in diameter. The sudden explosive event results in an immediate loss of power and compromises the steering and braking of the vehicle.

Consumer states that while driving, a rear bolt dropped, shearing spline gear and causing vehicle to go backwards down a hill, mechanic stated that all bolts in the rear of the vehicle were loose.
