The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet corvette. While driving approximately 30 mph, the programming that controlled the heating independently functioned and would not allow the occupant to manually operate it. When the switch that controlled the roof was pressed, the manual control feature returned; however, the heating element functioned at approximately 151 degrees independently. The contact stated that the programming that controlled the switch used for the roof independently controlled the heating elements. The contact stated that the verbiage in the owner's manual did not indicate that in the climate control setting section. The failure recurred constantly. The vehicle was taken to charles auto family in garrettsville, oh, 330-577-5089, where it was stated that the failure was an unknown issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle operated as designed. The contact was informed that there was no plan to remedy the failure or update the owner's manual. The failure mileage was approximately 100.

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet corvette. While driving approximately 30 mph, the switch that controlled the convertible top did more than make the top go up or down. The computer also turned the heater on or off at random, even when the vehicle was parked and turned off, without warning.the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (charles auto family, garrettsville, oh, 330-577-5089) and informed the contact that it was an unknown issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle operated as designed. The failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100.

Center screen completely dead. No audio, video or reverse view thereby causing a safety problem. The reverse camera does not come on and there is no display. Unable to see anything while reversing due to the way the car is designed.

2 occurrences i have been driving the vehicle, without notice i loose all power steering function, power brakes function and all abs/traction control.several warning lights are displayed on dashboard.both times the vehicle has been towed to the nearest chevrolet dealer for repairs.both these occurrences have happened while driving on major streets, the first time i was going around a curve on the street appx 40-45 mph, lost all functions and nearly lost control of the vehicle.

I was going down the highway and noticed that the corvette was getting really hot, than about 5 min later onstar reported a engine, trans, and rear end problem along with a loud clanking noise from the motor.now it only does about 65 thank it goes to 5k rpms and goes nowhere.

I was notified by my on-star that my vehicle was on a recall, regarding the eps elecironic power steering could be loss and could increase the risk of a crash.

My corvette is a z06 that is designed and built for track use. When i use it on track it overheats and goes into limp mode after about 15 mins. Sometimes the power steer faults making it difficult and dangerous to control the car. I do not use it regularly on the street.

I have about 500 miles on my 2017 c7 corvette and obviously never drove it in the winter, always garaged and just took it out a very few times over the past 2 weeks during nice weather. I opened the hood for the very first time and showed a friend of mine the engine, he was a mechanic for years, and we both immediately seen the manifolds were rusty. This is horrible that gm would release a nearly $60,000 vehicle with such a flaw and possibly near future catastrophic engine problems because of it!??????? please see the attached photos and advise me if you can please have these manifold headers replaced with ones which won't rust horrifically such as stainless steel or similar? all over the internet many corvette owners with new corvettes are complaining about the same concerns and issues! please do a nationwide recall and have chevrolet replace all of these manifold headers with stainless or other suitable material.please help everyone???!!! thanks!!!

Steve williams with decades of experience confirmed from borla exhaust etc... As well as corso and magnaflow exhaust expert reps said the same thing about gm plastic 4 actuators which are located on the c7 corvette mufflers have been melting! melting can cause a fire and at the very least causes the muffler system to be inoperative and the four flaps which open and close to allow air flow to either be stuck open or damaged because of the actuators located on the mufflers melting! mine although they might be inoperative as i hear sticking in the flaps opening and closing as engine accelerates which is a symptom of failure or potential failure! please order a nation wide recall to avoid someone's life being jeopardized and also engines being ruined because of these horrible design! call steve williams 805 986 8600 at borla a muffler guru and expert to advise you further. This plastic nonsense gm put as actuators has been a known problem for a very long time, especially affecting the c7 2013 and newer corvettes! please help put a stop to this and order gm to fix these problems! see photos of actuators on vehicles which have melted. Please help! thanks!!!one of many complaints on corvette forums! chassis this is an improper design by the gm team, putting a plastic cased electronic module directly on the exhaust pipe. Just bound to fail when the going gets hot. Actuators are expensive with a list price of almost $400 each, so it's well over $1000 to repair each time at the dealer for every one of my track outings. So far it's covered under warranty, but this can't really continue. If gm doesn't come up with a fix, i might have to sell the car. I bought it to go to the track and for now it fails every time i go.

Bumper to bumper traffic on freeway les than 5 mph traffic suddenly stopped i depressed brake and vehicle did not stop. Slight rear end collision resulted. A second and similar traffic condition resulted at low speed the brakes did not stop the vehicle appropriately. I had to fully depress the brake pedal and the vehicle slowly came to a stop. The vehicle appears to be acting like it doesnt have 'power' brakes.

Front wheels (tires) rub when making a sharp turn.dealership report that the condition is "normal".i find it unacceptable.i filed this report previously [#11234279] but haven't received a report.with this report i am submitting the modern dealership service report.

Front wheel rub when in motion turning sharply left or right.dealership document to me states that this is a "3030 normal condition".

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet corvette. The contact received a recall letter under nhtsa campaign number: 19v086000 (steering) however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the steering wheel seized with the power steering assist no longer available warning light illuminated. The contact also mentioned that while driving at low speeds, there was extra strength needed when steering the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to w-k chevrolet buick gmc cadillac (3310 w broadway blvd, sedalia, mo 65301 (660) 826-8320) where the contact was informed that there was not a fix for the recall and to restart the vehicle and it would function normally. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there was not a fix. The failure mileage was approximately 9,500. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

I tried to contact the chevrolet dealer twice, but they didn't respond to my request. When i called 1800 number, it kept getting disconnect

I've had 2 occurences where i get the "service power steering. Drive carefully" message and the car becomes harder to steer/turn. On the first occurence the issue went away after restarting the car. Now, the check engine light stays on and the car remains hard to steer even after restarting / waiting a day. Both occurrences happened while the car was in motion. First driving on the street and now it happened while driving on the freeway.

If the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner. N182182760 iwant to know when this recall will be fixed. I cant sell the vehicle until it is done.

After driving for 20 min at local street speed 30-45 mph completely lost my power steering.dash showed power steering drive safely.almost hit another car as i was making a turn.got it home and parked, restarted an hour later an it was working. No leaks or warnings, very scary and dangerous

2017 z06 corvette. Consumer writes with concerns to safety defect and many malfunctions with the vehicles tires. *as

The gm navigation system does not recognize the roundabout at the entrance to my neighborhood. This roundabout was completed in 2011, 5 years before my corvette was built. I submit that the corvette navigation system is faulty since it suggests i turn left onto old hundred road which is the wrong way on the roundabout, i submit that this fault is a safety issue.

I purchase the car as a one owner used. At the time of pick up the message on the dash read low rr tire. The service dept took the car for inspection. The tech came back and said he didn't see a problem. He stated he filled the tire and reflashed the computer as precaution. After a 5 hour trip home with the car in an enclosed trailer, i immediately put the car in heated storage for the balance of the winter. I didn't think much about the tire situation.when i brought the car out this spring the dash message said flat rr tire. I took the car to a reputable tire shop to see if there might be something in it. He called about an hour later telling me there were 2 cracks in the rear of the wheel. After checking on the corvette forum i see where this is an ongoing problem especially with the grand sport. I am afraid to take the car out especially with family members. It appears that this is going to continue to happen and i feel i should be compensated. An after market set of quality wheels can cost $5000 or more and i don't feel i should be responsible for this. I don't only blame gm but also the selling dealer as i believe they knew of this problem. So as of now i have a useless $80 k carthe car was purchased at bradley hubler chev. In franklin, indiana. I purchased the car 2/17/20. It was already fractured.

Ordered my car and picked up @ bowling green ky as a factory delivery(at corvette museum)i had had problems with wheel bending and cracking. Had a tire going flat. Had all tires checked and rebalanced at dealership, they informed me they were bent. Talkedus into repairing them. Short will late had tire complete flat on the drive. Took to the dealer for repair. Wheel bent again and some cracked.they say the are not part of the car. Never seen car going down the street without wheels. They would not repair or replace again. I can't keep paying for repairs on defect wheels. I have the wheels stored in my attic if anyone would like to investigate, this very dangerous product on these corvettes. I could not continue to drive my car safely so i replaced the 4 wheels at my expense.gm did not pay for any repairs, or new wheels.

My 2017 corvette grand sport tire pressure sensor (tps) came on for both the passenger side front and rear wheels.upon inspection of the tires losing air, the auto shop found that both rims were bent and cracked.therefore, i decided to incur the expense and get both repaired until i can purchase new wheels.since i had not hit any potholes or anything else that would cause major stress to the wheels, my mechanic and i determined that these cracks must have happened while driving on the highway.because there is a large number of reports of cracked or bent wheels on c7 (2014-2019) corvettes, i am reporting what has happened to my 2017 corvette grand sport.

Rear rt wheel cracked. Wheel is on back order and my dealer said they have replaced 50 0f them in the last few years there must be a defect if that many crack

In under 15000 miles this crack was found at a tire replacement. I'm glad it was caught before any kind of catastrophic failure.the wheel was replaced under warranty since there were no other signs of damage, abuse, or bending.

3/19/19 discount tire alerted me of crack in my passenger rear wheel02/12/20 discounted tire alerted me of a crack in my drivers side rear wheel

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet corvette. The contact stated that the driver's side rear wheel, part number: 84073058, fractured under normal driving condition due to the manufacturer design. The contact stated that the driver's side rear tire became deflated. The vehicle was taken to a tire shop and the contact was informed that the driver's side rear wheel was fractured. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was later taken to bellamy strickland chevrolet buick gmc (145 industrial blvd, mcdonough, ga 30253), and the contact was informed that the wheel needed to be replaced. The contact mentioned that the repair was not covered under warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 22,600.

Rear rims are cracking tires losing air. Possibly have a tire blow out. Tires have been leaking for over 12 months slowly. Finally found the problem

Both rear wheels have cracked!!!gm refused to cover via their "bumper-to-bumper" warranty even though i understand there are hundreds of the 2017 corvettes that have suffered this serious, dangerous problem!these wheels (made in china????) need to be recalled and replaced by gm before someone gets hurt!note this is the 2nd wheel problem with these wheels.the other rear wheel cracked back on 6/1/2019.

Right rear wheel has cracked, and will need to be replaced. I took car in to my local tire store because i though i might have picked up a nail, as the car was reporting low pressure in that tire. Tire store unmounted the wheel and showed me two cracks from inside edge of the rim towards center. Apx 2" each. No visible damage to tire or wheel indictive of a pot hole or other impact. I drove the car to take my girfriend out to dinner the night before and she also stated i didn't hit anything. Based on many many reports of similar failures on corvette forums and pending class action lawsuits, i believe the wheels were defective when new. Because i have three other wheels which may have the same issue, i will have to purchase aftermarket wheels and hope they are a more robust design.

Car was vibrating while driving and getting worse. Took to local tire shop for balance. Tire shop informed me i had 2 front and 1 rear bent wheels. Next trip to dealer for warranty work asked to have bent wheels replaced. Bent wheels were documented on work invoice but replacement was denied. Note wheels have never been inspected for cracks but do currently hold air.

2017 oem corvette grand sport wheels are unsafe due to soft material. I have had 3 bent wheels straightened last year, and now i have 1 bent rear wheel and 1 cracked rear wheel. Chevrolet is not correcting this situation under warranty. I have a secondary tire and wheel contract that i bought from my dealer. The provider is stating that they will only pay to a maximum of $600 in claims for wheelrepair, unless the wheels/tires stop holding air. This is gm's problem to fix.

I went out to my vehicle to drive it to work and saw that i had a low tire pressure warning. The pressure was 19 psi, and normal should be 30 psi. I inflated the tire to normal pressure, and a week later the pressure had dropped to 9psi. I took my vehicle to discount tire assuming i had a tire puncture, but after removing the wheel and tire they immediately detected a crack in the wheel. There was no damage to the wheel noticed during the most recent tire replacement at ~20.4k miles and the previous tires showed no damage from hard or sudden impact. No hard or sudden impacts have occurred since either.

After driving the car the tire pressure warning came on and we started noticing the tire pressure leaking on the right rear of my wife grand sport corvette, the wheel was taken off to investigate the cause of leak. It was discovered that there was a crack alone the bead ring area of the inside drum area of the wheel. The dealership refused to cover under warranty and didn't offer repairs. The wheel was taken to a reputable wheel repair shop with a guarantee on the repair. After driving the car approximately 1000 mile the same wheel started to leak again. After removing the wheel there was another crack approximately 180 degrees from the repaired crack. After refusing to drive the vehicle to the dealership with a cracked wheel, it was removed from the car and taken to the dealership and also called the gm priority care at 866-636-2273. Gm priority care gave me the case number 8-4778215369 . The dealership still refused to cover the wheel under warranty but offered to sell me another wheel for $250. The vehicle currently has 19000miles and is my wife's daily driver for work. The car has not been abused or involved in any accidents. It has been painted due to scratches from tornado wind damage. I took pictures before the repair was made and additional picture of the second crack in the same wheel. In my opinion the dealership should have replaced the wheel when the first crack occurred. Now i have no confidence in the quality of the grand sport wheels and will refuse their offer of getting a wheel for $250. After checking with an aftermarket wheel company for replacement wheels, they notified me that gm is aware there is an issue with the grand sportwheel and that i should take it to the dealership for replacement. The car is currently not safe to drive until i get a replacement wheel. See attached photos of the first and second crack in the wheel.

All 4 oem factory wheels are bent. Additionally, in 2018 one of the rear wheels was bent. It ultimately cracked and would not hold air pressure and had to be replaced. The vehicle has not been "tracked" or driven on roads or streets with large potholes.

The car was stationary when i got a low pressurewarning thatmy right rear tire had low tire pressure.i went to the corner gas station and got air.then drove to my local tire repair to get the tire repaired.they removed the tire and wheel from the car and discovered the wheel was cracked in 2 places.i went to a wheel repair shop and he told me that he would not repair a wheel with 2 cracks.i knew this was a problem for grand sports since i have a friend who had the same problem with less than 1000 miles on his 2019 grand sport.i have all so read on the corvette forums that many people are having this same problem with either cracked or bent wheels. I do not understand why general motors is backing their wheels with their warranty.i have driven corvettes since 1977 exclusively and never had a wheel problem. The vehicle was still within the 3 year warranty, but gm rejected the claim and refused any kind of compensation for the design defect of corvette c7 wheels. I have since purchased a new wheel but i am worried that this problem may happen again with different consequences. My opinion is that these wheels are not designed for the vehicle.

I am the original owner of a 2017 corvette grandsport convertible. With under 6,000 miles, i noticed a whirring sound from the front wheels in july 2019.initially i thought it was due to the road. Then i noticed a vibration in the steering wheel. I took the front wheels off the car and took them to goodyear to check the balance. I was shocked to learn that the front wheels were bent, even though they looked pristine. I then took my car to a local dealer to get the wheels warrantied. They determined all 4 wheels were out of tolerance for run out. My service order stated the 0.03' was the specification. My worst wheel measure 0.075' and best was 0.035'. The rear wheels were between the high and low values. The service order stated that the wheels needed replaced to correct the vibration. I worked with gm customer service during the month of august 2019. They initially told me that my wheels would not be covered under warranty because i refused repair. The whole point of of going to the dealer was to fix my wheels. Then they told me that the dealer denied my warranty. I asked for transcripts of my conversation s with customer service and they said no. It took a month to get written documentation that my warranty was denied after numerous requests. Gm customer service is as bad as their wheels. They told me replacement wheels were unavailable and they didn't know when they would be. I called my dealer 3 times between 8/12/19 and 9/16/19 to check wheel availability for my car. Each time the dealer stated they're not available and there is no eta. I store my car in the winter. I can't complain about the roads in my area. The worst roads have patched potholes. I have hit nothing that would even cause me to raise an eyebrow. See my thread on corvetteforum.com under c7 general discussion section. Thread title is gm does not honor warranty.

Right, rear wheel failed at approx 9,000 miles.two cracks on interior side approximately 2 inches long.this was noticed because of a slow leak.gm refuses to cover under the bumper to bumper or other warranty. There was no damage or excessive wear to the tire.

Cracks discovered on rear wheels.tire retailer discovered cracks in the vehicles rear wheels and recommended the wheels be replaced/repaired.

Soon after buying the car in may 2018, had to replace 3 of the 4 rims for being bent.i didn't hit any potholes or anything.had to pay out of pocket because gm would not warranty the rims.on sep 26,2020; one of the replaced rims (mentioned above) cracked and started leaking (left rear).all i do is normal driving and do not hit pot holes etc.there is obviously a defect in these rims.the car only has 45k miles and i've replaced 4 rims due to a defect that the manufacturer will not cover.

My vehicle doesn't see harsh road conditions in fact it is kept in the garage 100% of the time and gets maybe 5-7k miles per year. Never tracked or abused. Since i've purchased the vehicle i have had to take it to the dealer several times for low tire pressure and the dealer constantly says there's nothing wrong.

Pissed off!, ... My grand sport is 1 year old this week, and it's been babied the entire time when it comes to driving over road imperfections. 8,000 miles on the odometer, yet my driver's rear tire has been leaking air slowly since about 4,000 miles. This certainly happened while in motion driving over normal freeways and streets.in the last 2 weeks the leak has become so bad it's been flat (11 psi) twice the next day after having been properly filled the day before! (i've always carried a portable tire inflator in he trunk). This is sooo obvious that there is a manufacturer's problem with these cast aluminum 12" wide wheels on the z06 and grand sport models. Gm should be exposed for denying anyone's claim when one of these are bent or cracked within the warrantee period. What makes me even angrier is that much of this could possibly be avoided if chevrolet would make the "mag ride update" available for free, instead of the $350 they charge!!!" ... Many who have paid for this ridiculous charge, (should be free) ... Have said it makes the suspension and ride, softer and far more compliant while improving the the cornering and handling. I believe this would go a long way toward relieving the stresses these wheels are failing under! i wish we would organize and file a class action lawsuit against gm for these wheel failures! now i have to go through the aggravation, time loss of vehicle usage and probably still have to pay for a wheel repair that itself will likely crack again, (safety concern)... Or buy a whole new set of aftermarket wheels !!!i am here, contacting nhtsa to file my complaint!

While driving the car, i continued to notice a vibration. It varied with speed and at times would be worse than at other times. This is known as a "beat frequency". I finally became very concerned, raised the car and found both passenger side rims to be bent. I had only had the car for 6 months. It came from a hendrick dealership. It is more than apparent this is another cover up by gm. I have a 2012 kia forte that is driven on the same exact roads. It cost $12,ooo and has never bent a wheel. The corvette z06 msrp was $105,000. I had to purchase another set of wheels. Gm is not capable of producing a car that is engineered correctly.

Purchased my 2017 grand sport in december 2019.it had about 5,000 miles on it.i not ever hit any road defects of note in any of these cases.i had to replace my first wheel within the 1st months (was leaking air from a crack in the wheel).a couple months after that i took my car in to get new tires and was informed that two more wheels had cracks in them.i had them welded.in july, i was losing air in another wheel and found it had a crack and had to have the wheel replaced.i only drive in tour mode (softer suspension) and even paid to get a suspension software update from gm in the summer to supposedly soften the ride after reading of others having this issue, it did not help to stop the issues.i have been driving in the same areas for over twenty years, had multiple other sports cars and never had any other damaged wheel besides this car.it is clear that the stock wheels are not strong enough for this heavy wide body car and they need forged wheels that i can't afford.to recap, i have about 10,000 miles on the car now and over the approx. 5,000 miles that i have drove it, there have been 4 wheels that had cracks on the inner side of the wheels, with no tire or other damage visible.

4 bent oem wheels, less than 2,000 miles on car.never hit a major road hazard, never tracked.car vibrated at certain speeds ever since i bought it new and i am the 1st owner.i replaced all 4 wheels with aftermarket forged wheels, now - no vibration at all.when you spin the oem rims you can see they are all slightly out of round.

My wheels have developed cracks under normal use within 2000 miles of new. These leaks have resulted in air loss.

I have 2017 corvette grand sport. I bought this car dec 2018, and i am second owner. There has been problem on my rear wheel. I had to change the rear wheel 3 times for 1 year. When tire pressure is depressed, there was crack on it. I complaint to the dealership about this problem. But they said it's not covered bumper to bumper warranty. I paid to change new wheel on my car 3 times. Yesterday i realized that the tire pressure was deflated again even the same wheel which i changed new wheel 1 month ago.for 1 year , wheel broken 3 times is too many and not acceptable. And customer has to pay all things to fix and change wheel.

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet corvette. While driving at various speeds or parked, the inside of the rear wheel rims fractured. The tpms warning indicator light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to (jim glover chevrolet 707 w 51st st, tulsa, ok 74107 (918) 446-2200) where it was diagnosed that wheel was defective. The wheel was replaced. The manufacturer was contacted but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 70,000.

While returning home from the national corvette museum in bowling green ky to ca, my left rear wheel developed a crack losing air pressure every 30-50 miles. This could have resulted in a catastrophic vehicle accident driving home to ca. Gm will not warranty the wheel even though its only driven on city streets and highways and is still under the bumper-to-bumper warranty period (17,000 miles on vehicle).because i cannot trust any of these wheels, i am forced to buy aftermarket forged wheels at a cost of $4800 likely a cost that i will never recoup.as far as i see it, this is a manufacturer defect and should have been caught early in the c7 development cycle.none of my prior 6 corvettes had an issue with the wheels developing cracks.

When my vehicle had around 14k miles on it my rear tires we worn bad.so i replaced both rears.the technician told me to come look at the 2 bent rims i have.i asked if he could balance them.he did the best he could.i have a bad vibration when passing at h way speed and after a new alignment the car wonders alot.cost of 2new rims and being unavailable for replacement has put saftey in the backseat. I am very careful driving to avoid pot holes and pavement imperfections.reports of these rims cracking.hopefully no one gets killed before something is done.gm will not honor any replacements even if you had 100 miles on vehicle.very poor design to pass for usa standardsrims are poorly designed and deemed unsafe. I bet my fronts are bent too? when my tires need replacing they will be checked

Just discovered that one of my tires is leaking air because of a crack in the wheel. This car has never been tracked or raced and has never been driven in rough conditions or received damage. There is no justifiable reason for the cracked wheel. The wheel only has ~10,000 miles on it. This crack could leak to a blowout on the road and is due to manufacturing defects, but gm is refusing to acknowledge the issue / issue a recall. The defect is also not covered under their warranties. This is a massive safety hazard that will eventually spread to the rest of my wheels (very common issue for wide body c7 corvettes).

Gm is putting defective wheels on grand sport and z06 corvettes. These wheels will not withstand normal driving on any highway. The issue is that these wheels bend on impact, be it expansion joints along bridges or small imperfections in the roadway that other cars handle every day.the issue is that gm says these are road hazards and they are not responsible. The wheels were not engineered to take normal driving on roads anywhere.this started in june after a trip i took and the car picked up a vibration. Took it to s dealer and he said the wheels were bent and not covered under warranty and would sell me new ones 2 front wheels for about $1800. I then took the car home and took the front wheels off and had them straightened at a cost of $110 each. I thought that took care of the problem so we drove the car on another trip to novascotia, canada. We were on a trip and lost air in the left front tire ( picture below ) it had worn all the way down through all the belts due to the wheels being bent again. See all 3 pictures. These wheels are a safety hazard for these cars to use on public highways as they develop cracks and cause severe tire wear in short periods of time. I had another set of brand new wheels at home. I had to come back home and get them and take them back to canada to get my car home. On the 1700 mile trip back the car developed a vibration and when i took it back to my tire dealer he said that the right front wheel was bent.the big issue is gm does not track these issues if you do not buy the new wheels from them and it goes unreported. A friend of mine who has less than 5000 miles on his 2019 needs to buy 4 wheels and 4 tires and the dealer even told us there were 2 people the week before that had bent rims on i-71.

The right front and right rear rims on my corvette are bent and i have had this car less than 3 years. I have other cars that are much older and have never had a bent rim. This seems to be a common problem with the wide rims on this car and the z06 since the wheel barrels are very wide and have no support by way of the spokes at the far edge.

Left rear wheel cracked after 10,500 miles. Only apparent symptom was a slow leak in the tire. All miles are highway miles with no track days. Took the car to a chevrolet dealer for service and was informed that the wheel was cracked and needed to be replaced. I was also given a letter from gm stating that this was the owner's responsibility.

The rear passenger wheel developed two cracks in the inner outside edge of rim. Cracks appeared with no noticeable road trauma/debris/collision. First indication was slow leak of air from tire. Tire was inflated and vehicle was driven two more times. On the second drive of approx 10 miles, air had leaked out of the tire. On the third drive of approximately 3 miles, the tire would not hold air. Tire was removed and cracks discovered in rim.

The wheels on my vehicle are cracked on the rear passenger side. I picked up my (new) car from lamarque auto dealer in new orleans and drove home to beaumont. When i got to beaumont, the low tire pressure warning came on. So today (1-21-19) i took car to discount tire and they found that my wheel is cracked. I' assuming it crackedwhile driving over 200 miles on i-10 headed home.

On multiple occasions, my dealer or tire shop have found cracked or severely bent wheels. I have had to replace several of them out-of-pocket at a cost of nearly $1000 per wheel. There was usually no indication of a problem besides a slow air leak. I have always taken great care to avoid potholes and large bumps.

While driving on the highway, noticed the left rear tire was losing pressure slowly.took car to tire dealer for repair but he found the wheel was cracked and the source of the leak.there was zero damage other than the crack and no obvious impact marks.chevrolet stated that they will not cover this defect in material on the wheel.

Air was leaking out of the tire. We kept refilling it and took it to les schwab today only to be told that the rim was cracked. We drive this corvette carefully and have never hit a pot hole.

The factory wheels on the vehicle are cracking without being subjected to harsh road conditions. In this vehicles case one front wheel was replaced after a flat tire. The rear wheels haven't received any flats and never were subjected to any bumps, potholes, etc. The only reason the cracks were found was due to the tire installer finding them. The car technically was being driven in an unsafe condition until the rear wheels were discovered to have cracks during a brake inspection.2017 chevrolet corvette grand sport. Mileage: 25,000

Front wheels (tires) rub when making a sharp turn.dealership report that the condition is "normal".i find it unacceptable.i filed this report previously [#11234279] but haven't received a report.with this report i am submitting the modern dealership service report.

While getting new tires (15k miles) at the tire store on my corvette z06 the manager told me that i had a bent front wheel.i didn't recall hitting anything significant that could have caused this.he stated that he could balance it but couldn't be sure it wouldn't have issues.i began to notice a tire noise that was coming from that same wheel.i made some measurements (radial run-out) and realized it was quite bent (.057in run-out).it is common knowledge based that gm refuses to admit that they have a design flaw so i decided to buy some aftermarket wheels as i didn't want to pay for the poor and dangerous design. At the time of installing the new wheels i measured each old wheel to see if they are bent. At least three if not all four are bent to varying degrees and once again i don't recall hitting anything.as a matter of fact gm sells this model of car and makes claims that it is the best track car (corvette) they've ever released.my car has never been on a race track and is a normal daily driver.from a safety perspective i realized at that time that one of the rear wheels was actually cracked and very bent.the wheel could have caused me to have an accident if it had cracked further and at the wrong time.i have taken the wheels and all measurement data to gm to try to get them replaced and gm's stance at this point is that all bent wheels are the customers fault.to make it more confusing gm can't give a consistent story on what defines a bent wheel.as of filing this complaint i found 199 similar complaints with the same generation of corvette.hopefully gm will be held accountable for the poor wheel design before someone gets hurt because of a cracked wheel.i have attached pictures of the wheels showing the crack and max run-out on each of the four wheels.

Rear rim has cracked, have gotten repaired twice and cracked again. Car also has a vibration as if other rims on my car are bent or cracked. I currently do not drive the car very far because i'm afraid of getting strained somewhere. I have replaced the cracked rim with another rim from a rim shop that sales replica wheels

Had new tires put on car as they showed wear on the inside only 19000 miles but was told i had two bent rims and they needed to be replaced. Car has been pampered and no way should have damaged rims. Car is a weekend driver / show car with about 6500 miles a year. They are upgraded aluminum factory rims. Warranty is up in april 2020 but are not covered as dealer says its from my use.

The rear tire on my grand sport started leaking air.i took it to the dealership and was told it was repaired.it was leaking again the next day and i took it back again and i was again told it was fixed.i took it back and was advised the rim had two cracks.estimated repair cost 1,305 to start out and that it would not be covered under the warranty.i contacted chevrolet and the next day i received a call from the dealership.long story short they cut me a deal on the repairs and reduced my cost to 620.00.i was not happy but i love the car and i hated to have an expensive car sitting the garage and on top of that unreliable.i gave in and paid the 620.00 bucks and i am concerned about it happening again or too one of the other rims.i am disappointed in chevrolet.my friend is an ex sheriff and told me to be careful because if a rim is cracked he has seen numerous accidents where the rim disintegrates especially at higher speeds.all four rims should be replaced by chevrolet under the warranty.

2017 chevrolet corvette. Consumer writes in regards to cracked wheels. *ld the consumer stated two wheels cracked while on a trip. The tires were drained of air.

The vehicle has less than 10k miles on it. While driving the vehicle, the tire pressure sensor monitor for the rear passenger tire came on. Immediately went to a chevrolet dealership for a diagnostic. The dealership informed me the wheel had a crack in it; would need a new wheel. Was told would take at least a month for the part to come in; in the process of moving, could not wait a month. Found a rim repair shop that repaired the crack and also noted that the front passenger wheel was bent. The repair shop fixed both problems or so i thought. Was traveling to my new work destination and the rear passenger tire sensor light came back on. Found another rim repair shop who told me that i cannot drive the vehicle - the wheel had other cracks in it. Had to order a new wheel from a chevrolet dealership.

Wheel is cracked, and the tire will not hold air pressure.do not know if wheel was in motion, or, if wheel was cracked by cold temperature, as vehicle is stored in an unheated garage during winter.

I took it to a wheel specialist only to find all four of my rims are not round, they are all bent. My 3 year warranty has expired and gm will do nothing about it.

Crack in driver side rear wheel rim. Loss of air pressure warningcame up on the information panel, would not hold pressure after re inflating tire .when inspected there was a crackin the rim.

Tire slowly lost pressure over several weeks, eventually losing 2-3 psi/day.no issues found with tire, but rim was cracked in 3 places, starting at edge of inner lip and extending into the barrel.cracks were roughly 1-2 inches in length.no major impacts to the tire/rim.daily driver with zero track use.i have two sets of these rims, one for summer, one for winter.this was the summer set with the stock run-flat tire (very stiff sidewall, which may be a contributing factor), so mileage on these is roughly half of total car mileage.

The dealer, cosmo motors, inc., failed to disclose that three of the four wheels on the vehicle have been repaired, even though the car goes under a multi point inspection at their location. One of the repairs looks particularly bad with two sections that are six inches long and not straight. The dealer was not willing to take the vehicle back or replace the wheels.

I discovered my rim was cracked after having the wheel/tire inspected for a consistent slow leak.i took the car to the dealer thinking this should be covered under warranty. I was surprised to hear (from the dealer) that not only was one rim cracked, but another two (2) were bent.the then advised me that gm would not cover this under factory warranty. 2017 grand sport 18k miles

With less than 15000 miles i had 2 wheels with cracks in the lip portion of the wheel.tire store indicated the other 2 wheels are out of round.gm refuses to warranty, aftermarket warranty denies coverage since this is a clear "factory defect."gm is selling sub quality wheels that could fail at highway speeds, and not honoring warranty regarding factory defects.many instances of this problem on car forums.many.

I've had all four wheels on my 2017 chevrolet grand sport crack or bend (two cracked (one wheel has three cracks), four bent). This is a very common problem: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c7-general-discussion/4322291-c7-bent-cracked-wheel-roll-call.html. I drive this car infrequently, carefully, and only on good roads. I took it to the dealer (boardwalk chevrolet) to see if they would fix them under warranty, and the service advisor told me: "this is a known problem and it happens on *all* of them. Gm won't do the right thing and replace them. We've put in several claims and they all are rejected. You will need to replace the wheels at about $1000 per wheel, and it will probably happen again because they haven't fixed the design." there also is a class action suit specifically about this issue.

I have had two rear wheels crack in multiple places whichrequired me to buy new wheels, gm refused any warranty claim and referred me to the dealer, the dealer put me on hold for ten to 20 minutes3 times and refused to talk to me about the problem. Right rear wheel cracked, not due to hitting anything i.e. Curb, pot hole etc.normal driving and tpms sensor activated indicating low tire pressure. Upon careful inspection i discovered the wheel developed a crack. Very common problem amongst owners of late model corvette grand sports.i've read of scores of corvette owners experiencing the same problem, some owners experiencing cracked or bent wheels many times on the same car even after several replacements. On the corvette forum some owners have had cracked wheels on brand new cars with only a few hundred miles or new cars only weeks or months oldin the majority of cases gm is refusing to cover the wheels under warranty even though the cars are technically brand new and still under factory warranty.i've spoken to the head corvette engineer who is in charge of the entire development and design of the car about the problem.his reply is that they were aware of the problem but don't know the cause yet they won't warranty or replace the defective wheels.my car only has 19,000 miles on it and is still under warranty.i'm afraid the same problem will happen to my other wheels. I don't want to replace the wheel out of my own pocket only to have it happen again.

During a routine tire installation, the service dept of the dealer from which the car was purchased bent (3) of our grand sport wheels laterally. We have read other reports on corvette forums about these particular rims cracking and bending with little or no reason for them to do so. We've also read where the ahtsa has been notified by other corvette owners concerning this problem and yet to date noaction has been taken to rectify the situation. Corvette forums have also stated that these wheels can bendeasily duration the vehicle operation. These are high performance vehicles with wheels that are substandard.how many people have to get injured or die due to these defective wheels before your agency forces gm to make definitive changes for the consumer?

When driving the car vibrated. I took the car to the local chevy dealer to get the wheels balanced and was told two of the wheels could not be balanced because they were bent. In spite of my 3yr, 36k mile bumper to bumper warranty (which was in force) i was told chevy would not cover the cost of repairs.

Left, driver's wheel cracked with normal daily driving.

2017-2019 corvette grand sport has a high number of report instances of rims cracking and bending that forum members feel is not normal, not due to hitting potholes or anything. I had never hit any potholes or anything hard, and while having my tires changed, the shop shows me a crack in the rim. On the blog site "corvette forum", there's numerous people and pictures of people showing their cracked or bent rims. Gm is telling people this is normal wear and tear and not dealing with it. This is not normal. Several people have reported multiple tires bent or cracked. Please investigate. I'm sure gm does not have accurate data, people most people report the dealer turns their claim away as not being covered, so it's not getting fully reported. This appears to be a problem only with the grand sport model.

While driving on highway 108 near sonora california the right rear tire started to lose pressure, upon inspection found the wheel to be cracked (1.5' long by 1/16' wide) at the inner bead area. We had not hit any potholes or other obstructions in the roadway, also no damage to tire was noted nor was there a dent in the area of the crack.i believe that if this crack had gotten any bigger the tire could have been damaged causing an accident, considering the fact that it is a runflat tire a reasonable person may have driven it for up to 50 miles to get repaired or replaced thinking that it was a nail in the tire, this could've led to a catastrophic failure of the wheel.i have had the vehicle inspected at the dealership american chevrolet in modesto california and they stated that there is a cracked wheel and all three other wheels are bent even though we never hit any objects on the road. They created a dealer case number 9 - 5742425781. They claim that general motors is unaware of this defect, i believe this to be untrue as many forums are reporting the same problem throughout the model years of the c7 generation grand sport and z06 models.

Driving on regular road with no pot hole the right rear started to leak to find out after two days found out after the wheel was removed to see if it was the tire to find out the rim crackedwith 7200 miles, them a month the left wheel started to loose air to find out the left rim with 2 cracks. With 7215 miles. No refund or assistance from the chevy dealer. Thank goodness i had purchased tire insurance. There must be a defect in the cheap chinese steel. While i was in the tire repair shop,3 others corvettes with the same problems.one vet had the rim welded 3 times before he purchased a new set.gm should have this on recall or high safety concerns

1 crack on left rear rim 4 months ago. 3 cracks on right rim this week

My complaint centers on gm ignoring serious safety issues with cracks in defective wheels on their c7 corvette z06 and gs models potentially causing accidents, injury and deaths due to defective wheels. I was having my tires replaced on my 2017 corvette z06 by discount tire (txd56). Manager informed me that right passenger wheel was cracked and willnot be able to hold air and could not be repaired, only replaced. I took car to classic chevrolet - grapevine, tx. The service department confirmed crack but said that they were not allowed to make a decision on warranty coverage due to gm policy specific to corvette z06 and gs models. The dealer service department completed an inspection and included following comment: 996 c/s pass side rear wheel cracked. Did pra thru gm and gm declined to assist customer. Photos of the wheel clearly show the crack but no other damage to the wheel. I called gm customer assist center for further clarification. Gm sr. Advisor sent a voicemail and email saying that my vehicle was "out of warranty" ( which is not true, as coverage is thru dec 22,2019.) and that there are no defects to the wheel. When i followed up with another call, sr. Advisor acknowledged that my vehicle was still under warranty, but still denied coverage under bumper to bumper warranty and said wheel was damaged. I told them that based on review of pictures and visual inspection of the wheel there is no visible damage to the wheel only the crack.(wheel still in my possession).based on corvette organizations and postings, considerable numbers of complaints have been made to gm of defective wheels causing air leaks. Gm has denied nearly all of these occurrences as "damage" and not a defect. There are 2 class action suits filed against gm for not correcting defective2015 - 2019 corvette z06 and gs mode wheels.

Rear tires of my 2017 corvette grand sport were leaking air. Car was taken to the dealer where the mechanic knew exactly where to look. Both rear rims have multiple cracks and the front rims are bent in several areas. Although this is a common problem the factory will not replace the defective wheels. After only 18k miles the estimate to repair is $5,652. Without repair i risk tire blow outs.

Both rear rims cracked. No road hazards involved. Simple manufacturing defects. Very complicated issue because gm refuses to replace rims & i had to pay for aftermarket rims for $4000. What is worse is that the dealership blamed the cracked rims on my driving habits. In 26 years of driving, i have never had a damaged rim on any of my vehicles. I received info about the cracked rims from a fellow corvette owner who also discovered his rims were cracked. So i inspected my rimsas well. Sure enough, cracked. Mary barra for prison!

The right rear wheel is cracked.i noticed that i was losing tire pressure from the right rear tire.i thought i had hit a nail and caused a puncture.i took it for inspection and found the rim had cracked.the pressure was lost during the time it was parked overnight in my garage.

At around 10,000 miles, it was discovered that all four wheels were bent.when replacing the rear tires at 17,000 miles, it was discovered that one of the rear wheels had two sizeable cracks on the inside lip.based on reports from corvetteforum.com, this a major problem with the c7 grand sport wheels.

Had vibration and was told i had 3 bent wheel at 6500 miles. I am 65 years old and never in my lifetime did i ever have a wheel problem. I was one of the lucky ones. I used "smart driver" to defend my driving habits. Gm did replace my wheels. Now i am afraid to drive my 84k car

I have had to take my car into the wheel repair company 2 times for cracks in the wheels. The second time there were 2 cracks in the same wheel as the first time i took it in. They welded them to repair.

Went to dealer for vibration when driving. Was told i have 4 bent wheels. Reading corvette forum information it is a problem with these wheel. They bent and crack. The car was never of road or on a track. This is a normal driven car with 17000 miles.

2017 grand sport all 4 rims bent less that 10000 miles chevy needs to make this right i even found an article from car and driver magazine dated october 15 2018 and they even had issues with the rims

My rear passanger side rim has cracked from normal driving on a 2017 with 6550 miles on it. Had the tire replaced, next morning there was no air in tire, took to gm dealership was told rim was cracked, and was not covered under the b to b warranty

A little over a year ago a tire company found a crack in one of the rear wheels of my 2017 corvette grand sport.the crack was perpendicular across the inside rim of the wheel where the tire bead meets the wheel.i took the vehicle to a chevrolet dealer who examined the wheels and found another identical crack in the other rear wheel.other than the cracks, the wheels were unmarred.while cleaning my wheels, i noticed another identical crack in the identical location on one of my replaced rear wheels.the wheel was otherwise unmarred.i took the car to a chevrolet dealer, who took photos and sent them to gm for warranty replacement approval.gm declined to cover the wheel under warranty.i appealed the denial which was given gm case [xxx].the appeal was denied.i asked that it be escalated and that escalated appeal was denied.gm stated that after examining the photos, they determined the crack was not a result of defects in material or workmanship.these cracked wheels constitute a serious safety hazard, particularly since they are in an area that most consumers would not inspect.i believe the cracks are a result of poor design, substandard materials, poor workmanship or a combination thereof.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Left front and left rear wheels bent after very minor defect in highway, had to replace wheels

In april 2019, my car's right rear wheel lost air pressure while i was driving on the interstate.i discovered that the wheel had a hairline crack on the inside lip, so i paid out of pocket to replace the wheel.in september 2019, my car's left rear wheel lost air pressure while driving locally. I discovered that the wheel had 3 hairline cracks on the inside lip, so again i paid out of pocket to replace the wheel.

Normal driving caused major/minor cracks in 2 rims with moderate loss of air pressure over course of only a few miles requiring immediate exit from highway to address unsafe condition of car. Mileage of only 18693 on the car as of 6/11/2020. No coverage per gm even under new car 3 year/36000 mile warrantyor the extended warranty we purchased. Cost to me of $1501.30. Pictures of cracks available as are the actual rims (tire service said they'd never seen anything like it in 40 years). Lawsuits pending against gm currently (class action). When they debuted the 2017 grand sport model on a 40000 mile test run they had a total of 10 cracked or bent rims due to poor rim construction. I fear that i'll lose a rim, puncture a tire and have an accident.

2017 corvette grand sport 9,200 miles. Had sudden air leak in left rear tire. I took the car to a local tire shop expecting for them to tell me i had a nail or something in the tire. Much to my suprise he showed me a crack on the inside of the rim. There was no damage to the tire and not even a scratch on rim just a crack. We have not hit anything to cause any damage.

I began experiencing moderate but worsening wheel shaking approximately 3 months ago and took car to chevrolet dealer to have it checked.technician found three our of my four original oem wheels are bent which was causing vibration.car has approx. 15,000 miles - locally driven, pleasure and weekends only!

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet corvette. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, the rear passenger's side wheel cracked. The vehicle was not repaired nor was the wheel replaced. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact to file a complaint with the nhtsa. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

My left rear wheel developed a crack.luckily i noticed this quickly, or a catastrophic failure could have occurred leading to loss of vehicle control and potential crash.these failures are well documented on the web, with 100's of owners experiencing the same failure.gm made a poor engineering/cost decision when deciding to use cast wheels on a high performance car with a large drum overhang and stiff low profile tires.forged wheels are much stronger and should have used in this application.a gm dealership has looked at the problem and did contact gm.as with all the other cases, they refuse to take responsibility.some people have gotten reimbursed for their cost by gm after arbitration via the bbb.

Left rear tire had been leaking about 1 pound a week, took it to dealer and he found a crack in the wheel. Gm and dealer said it was caused by pot hole or speed bump even though there was no tire damage.the car is still in dealer shop waiting to have new wheel installed.

Drivers side rear wheel developed a slow leak. I took the car to my tire dealer and they found a crack on the inner outer edge of the wheel. My research shows a pattern of this problem and a class action lawsuit has been started. My car is considered a super car of speeds in excess of 200 mph. This is a serious safety hazard. What is my best course of action on this dangerous situation?

I took my wheels to a shop where they reported that all 4 had bent. In trying to repair them they noted that they wobbled when on a machine and that they seemed prone to being easily bent. Also the black powder coating was inconsistent and easily chipped. I noted that others have reported issues with the grand sport wheels. Repair cost is unknown, but i now am concerned with continued use of the wheels due to potential bending and cracking issues.

With approximately 9500 miles on our 2017 corvette, we purchased new tiresin anticipation of a long road trip this summer.when the car was picked up from discount tire, we were told that at least two bent wheels.we contacted the dealer, who told us that the bent wheels are not covered by the 3-year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. The wheel repair facility informed us that 3 wheels were severely bent and one was slightly bent.we paid $400 for the repair to all four, as we consider it a critical safety issue.after this, we searched the internet and found hundreds of similar complaints, some on cars with under 500 miles.others reported that they were told by a dealership that the problem was not covered by warranty or recall because gm is not hearing about the issue repeatedly.a federal class action lawsuit has now been filed in california over this problem.our invoice for repair is attached.

My grand sport has multiple wheel issues, safety issues. The wheels are prone to cracking and bending. Happens often, twice in the last week on 2 different wheels, tires go flat, wheel has to be welded or replaced each incident. Tires are not capable of reinstalling multiple times for safety. Gm does not want to warranty this situation, costing me hours of lost work, inability to trust the car for regular or pleasure driving and costing me thousands $. Now, gm has a multi month back order on replacement wheels (at my cost) and this car has no spare as these are run flat tires. So car becomes useless and unsafe. I understand there are 'thousands' of similar owner situations according to capstone law firm wanting to enlist me in a class action. I prefer a gm swift and fair solution. This is ridiculous for such an expensive car and for the way they are treating us. Denying any issues. I don't track or race my car, i'm an older driver who enjoys driving and live in los angeles where i drive 50 miles r/t daily to work at a whopping speed of maybe 20 mph due to traffic on the 101 fwy.

With only 11k miles my car developed a leak in the right rear wheel, so bad that it would go from 40 to zero psi in 15 minutes.i discovered i had a cracked wheel in the right rear.during repair i found both front wheels were bent.i have never run over anything to cause this.chevrolet denied the warranty claim, stating i caused the damage.to repair the car, i had to buy a used set of wheels...of which one was also cracked in a similar fashion.there is a design flaw which is a safety concern with these wheels.in addition, the bent wheels caused 3 out of 4 tires to be completely shredded in only 11,000 miles.the only good tire is the one on the un-damaged left rear wheel.i have never had a car shred 3 tires to the cords irregularly while one has 80% tread remaining.the one good tire is on the only non-damaged rim.

Both rear wheels cracked and i had to spend more money to replace them

I own a 2017 grand sport corvette and found a crack in passenger rear rim, picture is below. It is a known fact that there are too many crack c7 corvette rimsand gm will do nothing about it. I was lucky and noticed psi in tire leaking and monitored, finally went to dealership where inside rim was cracked.

The right rear wheel was always showing it was low on air . I took off the wheel and noticed it was cracked and leaking air.

I had to replace two wheels because they were cracking and the air leaks out.

2 bent wheels under (better than) normal driving conditions on my 2017 corvette grand sport. Garage kept/covered. Pristine 2-year-old car with 7000 miles. Service dept alerted me to the bends during scheduled maintenance and while investigating a pulsing problem in the front brake rotors. The vehicle is hardly ever driven, has never seen rough roads/city streets/bad weather/etc. The vehicle has never been "tracked" or otherwise abused. This is a "summer only," weekend vehicle that has been impeccably maintained. There are no visible scuffs/scrapes/bends/bulges or other damage to the tires or wheels. Never hit any pothole/road hazard/debris, *ever.* based on recent online research and information from the service manager, i'm now concerned that these wheels will totally crack or otherwise deform while driving. This is an accident waiting to happen.after opening a case (9-5012193448) and over an hour on the phone, gm has denied a warranty claim and will not further discuss/escalate this issue. Gm would not provide a description or copy of the method used to determine "defect vs.damage", or a written copy of the evaluation made by the regional warranty rep.gm refuses to disclose any information regarding other instances of this problem, will not replace/repair the defective wheels, and will not pay for a suitable/comparable 3rd party replacement.i've also read about other owners have the same issues via these links:https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a23705281/2017-chevrolet-corvette-grand-sport-reliability/https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c7-general-discussion/4161059-2018-grand-sport-cracked-rim.htmlhttp://www.carproblemzoo.com/chevrolet/corvette/wheel-problems.php

Bent and cracked right rear wheel.all other wheels are out-of-round.happened under normal driving conditions.dealer wouldn't cover under manufacturer warranty.stated it was normal wear and tear, but offered to sell me a tire and wheel protection package to cover future damage for $2500.00.i replace all four wheels with gm 2013 corvette zr-1 wheels.i retained the defective wheels in my garage.

I own a 2017 chevrolet corvette grand sport.i have approximately 12,000 miles on the vehicle.it came time for new rear tires and when the right rear wheel was removed from the car a crack was immediately noticed.the tires were not removed and the car went to the dealer.i had them check all 4 wheels and i was told that 3 wheels were cracked.i was told that the wheels are not covered and that gm blames potholes or operator error.there are no mark's on any tires or same that would show pothole damage.the car is marketed as a track car but driving the car at any speed with crack wheels is a huge safety risk and could easily kill someone.a recall needs implemented asap as i have researched and found this to be a very large problem.

The car has had a vibration since new. The dealership said it was due to four bent wheels and three bad tires. The car had the four wheels and tires replaced at 3200 miles. Two weeks and 400 miles later i took the car back to the dealership because the vibration did not get solved. The dealership said that three of the replaced were bent. The service manager said that due to the poor design of the wheels that are very prone to bending. Now i am not driving the car in fear of the constant problem of bending the wheels. In one month the car has had seven wheels and four tires replaced.

The right rear wheel crack tearing the tire. I was not aware of the problem until my car sent me an email.. I had not driven my car for 2 days. My car was stationary at the time.

My vehicle was purchased new april 2017 last year the rear wheels were leaking air and upon inspection it was discovered the inner rim was cracked in several places. This was the first occurrence happening to passenger side rear. Within 6 months another issue with the driver side rear rim this had one crack upon inspection and taking it to dealer who would say that it's driver driving habits and road conditions that is the cause. During the second incident the dealer service agents said that it is common and they get a lot of them. The issue is not enough people are reporting it or know the process to report it so the manufacturer (gm) can be held accountable for it. Once i was able to capture photos of the wheel with the 7 cracks and send it to gm corporate did i get assistance for warranty coverage for the wheels. My concern now is the wheels that are on it now. Ihave a vehicle that i fear has defective unsafe wheels that can possibly crack and fall apart like glass. I am attaching photos that show the wheel with the several cracks. Confirmation of actual dates can be obtained upon request.

2017 corvette with 6800 miles on it and the left wheel is bent causing a vibration when the car is moving.discount tire said wheel could not be repaired.left front wheel no bent.

2017 corvette grand sport, purchased in june of 2017, only used on weekend and the current mileage is only 930.just noticed a vibration in the front end when travel on highway at speed 55+.bring the car to the dealership for inspection and the service manager inform me all 4 wheels has been bend and need to be replace.file a case (9-5019078980) with gm customer care center and after 1 week, gm center called and told me this is not cover under the factory warranty. Very disappoint and loosing trust in gm product related to quality, reliability and safety concern for the consumers.this problem with the factory wheel bending or cracking has been report and listed in several corvette forum and most are related to the 2017-2019 grand sport model.hopefully there will be an investigation open soon to prevent any further damage causing serious accident similar to the air bag problems.

2017 corvette z06.15,000 miles.brought to discount tire to get two new rear tires.both rear wheels are cracked.google search to find common problem.contacted chevrolet dealership.wheels are not covered under warranty.car has not been track driven, or driven hard.driven carefully.did not hit any potholes.no visible damage to the wheels in any way.oem gm wheels.gloss black 10 spoke z06 wheel.back of wheel: ronal made in mexico.23288860.

In the past year my rear alloy wheels have suffered two separate cracks in the left rear wheel and one crack in the right rear wheel causing flat tires. On each occasion i went to my chevy dealer and was told that this damage was not covered under my bumper to bumper warranty. I had to have the wheels repaired at my own expense. The dealer told me that these wheels are fragile because they are low profile. This car has never been driven off-road or tracked nor hit any major potholes. I am 76 years oldand have driven millions of miles and owned dozens of cars and have never had a bent or cracked wheel before. These incidents happened in september of 2018, august of 2019 and october of 2019. I am now afraid to drive this car because of the danger of driving on unsafe wheels. By the way, these rims cost over $800 apiece. I have met many other owners of 2017-2018 corvette grand sport and z06 models that use the same wheels and have had to deal with the same problems of cracked and bent wheels that were refused warranty coverage by chevrolet. Online blogs have stated that chevrolet doesn't keep records of all of these claims that they refuse to honor. If chevrolet refuses to deal with these problems there should be a government recall to force them to correct the serious danger posed by these substandard wheels. It also appears that there is a class action suit that is being created to force some action and reimbursement from the manufacturer.

Loosing tire pressure and found both rear wheels were cracked 3/20/2019. Dealer said i hit a pothole so they would not be covered under warranty. Suspect it was because i drove in sport mode. Since then, i have been driving in touring mode and found another crack today 11/25/2019. I don't recall ever hitting a pothole and driving conditions have been safe.

Oem 2 rear rims cracked on backside lip in 3 places. Car has been drive 2,000 miles since purchased. 90% highway driving no potholes were hit. I did see there is a lawsuit against gm, llc about grand sport and z06 rims was filed

Brought my car to the chevy dealer for a recall. When i picked up the car, i was told, and the invoice evidences it, that i had three bent wheels and one cracked wheel. I drive primarily on highway roads and don't recall hitting any potholes. I don't track the car. The original factory tires are still on the car (tire life is estimated to be around 10,000 miles) and currently have 13,000 miles on them. There is still decent tread left on the tires which proves that there is no aggressive driving. I've attached the invoice from my dealer. There have been numerous complaints on the corvette c7 forum about the 2016 z06 and 2017-19 z06 and grand sport wheels having bent and cracked wheels, many with less than 1,000 miles on the car.general motors refuses to acknowledge the issue in spite of the number of complaints against the company.

Both rear rims have cracks in them.the left rear rim has 3 1" cracks on the inside edge of the rim, the right side has 2 1" cracks on the inside of the rim.the car has 13,000 miles on it..the cracks cause the tires to lose air.the rims are not repairable and gm refuses to warrant the defective rims.the damage occurred in normal driving conditions.this car is stored in the winter months and is not driven for 6 months of the year.i had a tire gauge indicate that my right rear tire was down to 24lbs.i pumped up the tire and watched if for a coulpe of days.it continued to loose air pressure so i took it to a qualified tire dealership thinking i had a punctured tire.the shop notified me that the tire was fine but that the rim had 3 one inch cracks in it.i went to my chevrolet dealership had them document the issue take pictures and notify gm of my claim.gm rejected the claim with in 2 hours and claimed it was due to road hazzards.

Driving down a street in aiken sc (york st) i ran across a manhole that was below street grade. Immediately upon speeding up, noticed vibration. Took the car to local tire dealership that specializes in corvette tires and they verified that both wheels on the left side were bent. They were both bent on the inside of the wheel away from the spokes. I was going less than 25 mph when i ran over the recessed manhole. Gm does not recommend repairing theses wheels since according to them will eventually fail if repaired. That means i have to buy two new wheels for over $1800 out of pocket.

The left rear wheel (stock, oem) cracked while on vacation and there being no other option and since the tire was losing air i had the wheel welded. A few days later, while still on vacation, the same tire was losing air again. It was determined that the weld was intact but that there were three additional cracks. After having those welded i limped along until i could acquire a new wheel. The right side rear also show a crack when i retuned from vacation and had occasion to replace all wheels. I shipped the wheel with 4 welded cracks home and still have it for evidence if needed. All cracks have happened while driving on the highways-both going straight and turning. Cracked wheels on 2017 chevrolet corvettes have happened on too many different vehicles to be a coincidence and, in fact, there is a pending class-action lawsuit regarding them.

Both left wheels on my 2017 grand sport bent in normal driving over normal roads.in researching the issue, this seems to be a recurring problem with the stock wheels on 2017-2018 corvette grand sports and 2015-18 corvette z06s.gm agreed to replace the front wheel, but the dealer didn't realize the rear was also bent (no visible damage to either wheel, the wheels are just not strong enough).gm is now claiming they won't fix/replace the rear wheel.car vibrates because of the bent wheel.

All 4 wheels are bent, including one that is also cracked. 4600 miles on the car. I have not hit any pot holes or other serious road hazards. Car is under bumper to bumper warranty. Gm will not cover repair.

Cracked rear wheel (inside lip). No curb rash, no marking on tire. Dealer will not replace in warranty.

When we starting losing air in the left rear tire, we had it checked and a cracked rim was discovered. Did not hit any obvious road hazards, curbs or debris.

After having my corvette back to the dealer numerous times because of a vibration when traveling around 55-60 mph, i was told i had four bent rims, and there was nothing they can do. I contacted gm and they too said, they would not cover the defective wheels. Received a warning on my information center that my left rear tire was low on air. I proceeded to remove the tire and found three cracks on the left tire, and i also removed all the other wheels and found the right rear also was cracked. Had the vehicle towed to tom hesser chevrolet, and they said, there wasn't anything they could do.

2 bent wheels

Passenger side rear wheel cracked leading to a leak in the tire. Wheel is oe - came on the car when new. Chrome. This is a safety hazard should this occur on a track or at highway speeds.

Both rear wheels have cracks from the inner edge to the tire bead area.both rear wheels are leaking air at over 4 psi per week as verified by bubble testing of the cracks and tire pressure measurements.both rear wheels and tires are in excellent condition with no damage of any kind from impacts.rear tire tread at 12,000 miles is still safe, but close to wear out limits.my tire shop cannot install new reartires on the cracked wheels.martin chevrolet in torrance ca reduced their diagnostic fee to $90 for taking photos and processing a warranty claim with gm.the vehicle was still within the 3 year warranty, but gm rejected the claim and refused any kind of compensation for the design defect of corvette c7 wheels.gm support representative registered my case number 9-5956196745 and suggested that i have the wheels welded or buy two new wheels at my expense.the vehicle has been parked since 14 may 2020 due to risk of loss of air to rear tires.no other assistance was offered by gm or the dealer that sold me the vehicle, penske chevrolet.the three year warranty was in effect but was not honored.one or more class action lawsuits are pending for this issue.

Had a constant slow leak for the past 7-8 months, finally took it in because i am planning a cross country drive and found out the passenger side rear wheel is cracked.

Passenger-side rear wheel cracked in three places. I noticed the air pressure in the tires going down so went to get it investigated by local tire shop who found the three cracks. Gm won't honor their bumper-to-bumper warranty which is incredibly disappointing, despite the car only being 2 years old with 9k miles on it.

An intermittent, slow leak in the passenger rear tire was determined to be due to a crack in the rim. No evidence of a hard impact can be seen on the tire or rim , failurefound on 12/26/19

Normal driving caused 4 major/minor cracks in 1 wheel/rim with slow loss of air pressure. With mileage of only 14599 on the car as of 10/12/2018. No warranty per gm even under new car 3 year/36000 mile warranty. Cost to me of $881.81. Pictures of cracks available. Lawsuits pending against gm currently (class action). When they debuted the 2017 grand sport model on a 40000 mile test run they had a total of 10 cracked or bent rims due to poor rim construction by ronal in mexico, report available. This problem is not going away. I fear that i'll lose a rim, puncture a tire and have an accident. What are my options?

Wheels bend out of round during normal use..dangerous and is a manufacturers defect that chevrolet will not acknowledge.. I am aware of several instances with other c7 grand sport owners this should be addressed by chevrolet. Fixed at no charge to the owners... The wheel could sheer of the car and result in a serious accident and fatalities

I have had to replace two wheels because of being cracked and bent causing wheel vibrations and leaks.this was from normal driving on various highways.

The passenger rear tire kept going flat and the leak could not be found. A tire service center eventually found 2 cracks on the inside lip of the wheel that extended inwards 1.5" into the barrel area of the wheel which caused the leak. This could lead to a wheel catastrophic failure. The shop manager said this is a common issue with this vehicle. The car was taken to a chevrolet dealership for a warranty claim. The shop foreman filed the claim but gm denied it. The foreman also indicated this is a common problem. I purchased a new wheel and kept the old one. The white marks in the pictures are just a way to highlight the cracks. There are no indications of impacts that could have caused this issue.

The contact owns a 2017 chevrolet corvette. The contact stated that the rear driver's side tire deflated and after inflating. It was discovered that rear driver's side wheel was cracked causing the air to leak. The contact also indicated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle experienced severe vibration due to the cracked wheel. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer mcguire chevrolet located at 63 hampton house, hampton, nj 07860 and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,000.

Cracked rim on 2017 corvette grand sport

My corvette grand sport with 4900 miles has experienced three bent or out of round wheels. The chevrolet dealership identified this during alignment process. I am still working with them to find a financial solution. But i have come to learn from forums and from talking with other owners this is a common and perhaps dangerous problem.wheels can eventually crack and tires can leak.

My 2017 corvette z06 convertible has 4 bent wheels, including one that is cracked and leaking air. I have not hit any pot holes or anything that would cause the wheels to bend or crack. Gm had denied 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty claim to replacethe wheels at 4000 miles in 6/2019. Car presently has 6000 miles on it. The cracked wheel will eventually get worse, possibly causing a catastrophic wheel failure while driving.

My rear tire started leaking air, so i brought my car to the dealership. I was told my rear driver side wheel was crack. I hardly drive my car, and now i have to pay $650 for another wheel, which is not covered under the warranty.

Cracked rim from everyday driving on vehicle. Issue was discovered after putting new tires on vehicle at 14.8k miles. Vehicle was driven for approx 50miles when i noticed that a rear left tire was slowly losing pressure. I didn't recall driving over any significant bumps in road during this period.

On july 24, 2019 i started my 2017 c-7 grand sport corvette and noticed a right rear tire low pressure light on the dashboard.i turned off the car and decided to leave it in the garage and use one of my other vehicles because i didn't have time to service the tire at that time.the car has remained parked due to vacation and work since then.today, august 23, 2019 i checked the tire and it had zero pressure.i removed the wheel and noticed two cracks on the inside edge of the wheel.i sprayed some soapy water and verified that the wheel is leaking air from one of the cracks.i did some research online to see how to go about contacting the dealership for warranty repairs and noticed multiple online complaints to include a chevrolet corvette class action lawsuit by plaintiff filed on 04/30/19 which claims wheels easily bend and crack. I will call a chevrolet dealership tomorrow to inquire about replacement but it does not look promising based on everything i've read on line.my vehicle has 10,264 miles and i believe it should be covered under warranty.

At just less than 5000 miles i was experiencing vibration specially in cars sport mode on my 2017 grand sport corvette. Took to tire shop for a wheel balance and was notified three wheels were bent. Took car to dealer who acknowledged also wheels were bent in repair order. I was told by dealer bent wheels are not covered under 3yr/ 36k mile warranty. Dealer suggested i contact gm. Later internet search revealed many other people experiencing bent wheels on this particular corvette model. This is a very serious safety problem as wheels are cracking and could foil completely causing uncontrollable situation.

My car has almost 2000 miles on it.i had a slight vibration throughout the car.took it to the dealer expecting a wheel balance problem but found out that i had 3 bent wheels.upon further research i found this to be a common problem with this model corvette. It appears to be a design, strength, issue with the wheels.since i purchased the car i can't remember hitting anything that would bend 3 wheels.i don't abuse the car.i left the dealership after getting no satisfaction.they took no responsibility for the problem.i feel that this is a safety issue that needs to be addressed by gm.i also was told that this would likely happen again.i am very learyabout driving this car. Gm should bear some of the responsibility.

Cracked rims and shaking car

I have a 2017 grand sport with approx. 17,000 miles, and am losing air in the rear-left tire. I pulled the wheel and discovered four cracks on the back rim edge, located at 12:00, 1:00, 5:00 and 6:00. There are absolutely no signs of impact to the tire or rim.

I was taking a drive along the coast and hit a small bump.the next day my tire pressure read low so i took the car to a tire shop and they showed me two cracks in the inside of the rim

Wheels bent and cracked this is a reoccurring problem. Cracked wheels could present a safety problem. Situation verified on tuesday may 7th 2019

Just started to noticed a slight leak from the driver side rear tire over a few days, the leak progressively got worse. I decided to go get it taken care of. Discount tire couldn't find an issue with the tires. Then while working on the tire they noticed several stress fractures on the inside of the wheel. It ended up being on both rear tires and a wheel in the front had damage as well. Tried to go through the dealership to get it fixed since the car has bumber to bumber warranty and they told me it was from potholes and they couldn't cover the damage. The car was both stationary and in motion when i noticed the leaking. The vehicle has only been driven on pathed roads.

Had 3 of the 4 rims bend, per the dealer diagnosis, for no apparent reason.car had 2,000 miles on it.it seems to be a systemic problem. There are multiple posts about this issue, along with the wheels cracking for no reason, at the following internet forum; https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c7-general-discussion-142/in my instance the car drove fine the evening before (i'd actually picked it up from the dealer the same day as they repaired another issue).got in the car the next morning to go to work and noticed the bad vibration.i thought a wheel weight had fallen off.took it to the dealer and after diagnosis they informed me that 3 of the 4 rims were bent (both passenger side and driver rear).
