Indicator light warning that the air bag system is not working began appearing intermittently.it seems to come on and off while hitting bumps or by readjusting the seat belt.
Air bag light comes on most of the time. Did a search this seems to be an on going problem.
The airbag light comes on at startup and stays on.jiggling the yellow connector under the driver seat will make it go off sometimes.the car has an easy entry feature that somehow disrupts the yellow connector underneath the driver seat.it is my understanding that if the airbag indicator light is on, the airbags will not deploy in an accident.this seems like a major safety issue.
Since ownership starting 09/28/12 i have had multiple incidents of the air bag light for the passenger side illuminate.it is intermittent and comes and goes randomly.i just got it back from the dealer after complaining about it and they said they couldn't do anything since there were no codes in the computer. I'm a member of the corvette forum and have seen numerous postings concerning this problem.it seems to be the connector under the drivers seat that is designed so it drags and catches on the carpet thus moving the connector and its wiring. The dealer made no attempt to contact chevrolet technical assistance about this and just sent me on my way out the door.they did not attempt to check the wires under the seat when i asked about that.on one trip about a month ago i had a passenger on board and the passenger airbag indicator said it was still off when he was sitting there.
My car was seen by the dealer three years ago for the airbag warning light and they could not diagnose the problem because the warning light was not consistently staying on. Now my airbag warning light comes on and off while i am driving all the time. I survived two wars while serving in the army and now my life is in danger because of an airbag warning light that hundreds of other car owners have complained about.
Abs light stays on.history: on 11/17/18 before driving my vehicle i had to adjust my driver's seat all the way back to accommodate my long legs after another person had previously moved the seat forward when they were sitting in the vehicle.when i started the vehicle the abs light briefly flashed, then came on steady, then it after several minutes the light eventually went out while i was driving.the next time i started the car the abs light came on, flashed briefly, then remained on steady.now, each time the car is started/driven, the abs light briefly flashes during start up and then always remains constantly on after that.the vehicle only has 19,000 miles on it.
The airbag warning light appears every time i start the car and illuminates randomly while driving.
Many strange things started happening -- some intermittently.the options button sometimes shows "unavailable"; at other times, it works!the passenger window suddenly stopped rolling up completely when the door is shut, and must now be closed manually.the "heads up" speed projection stopped working, but then started working again with a different configuration than we had set before.the entire left bank of buttons stopped working completely.during an oil change, the doors locked and would not open with the key fob appropriately inside of the vehicle; the dealership had to send a driver to our home to pick up the other key fob in order to make the locks open -- they said there was no other way to get into the vehicle.a local dealership/service center is currently working on the vehicle, and we hope to know more about these problems/issues within the next couple of days.
The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet corvette. The contact stated that the oem keys were not connecting electronically to start the vehicle. The failure occurred for over five years. The dealer (crystal chevrolet, 1035 s suncoast blvd, homosassa, fl 34448, (352) 436-4371) was notified several times that the fault not detected warning message was flashing. The dealer reprogrammed the oem master key. Afterwards, the horn failed to operate, various electronic functions failed, and the trunk failed to lock and unlock. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000. Consumer stated random incidents caused by electrical system due to defective jobs.
Two months ago, the car would crank, but not start. After several tries, and waiting overnight to continue trying, i had the car taken to the dealer. Tow driver drops car off flatbed, service writer gets in to cycle through to get mileage, etc, and the car starts. No error codes. They keep it for a few days, but no further problem. Ten days ago, same problem. Tow driver tries to start the car to drive off flatbed, without success. Dealer observes the problem, but, again, car starts for the service writer, and no codes. Leave it for several days, but no repeat of the prob. A few days ago, same problem, except now the car is 'on the verge' of starting, not just cranking, and i can smell fuel (this was not the case previously). The car was low on fuel when i left, and the low fuel warning had come on a few miles before i stopped. So, i get some gas in the car, eventually 1/2 a tank, and now the car is just cranking, not 'on the verge', and aaa is called to tow it. At this point, the attempts are taking their toll on the battery, but i continue trying, and, while the tow truck is en route, it starts just like always (push button, engine starts, no lag or hesitation). Dealer thinks it's fuel related, but doesn't know what the problem is, so has no idea what to do. Online forums suggest that it's an overheated fuel pump relay, or connectors thereto, resulting ultimately in a complete fuse box replacement.
Magnetic shocks are leaking at only 24,000 miles. Dealer says they need to be replaced out of warranty at over $400 per shock.
I experienced a total engine failure causing my nearly new vehicle to suddenly lose power and stop in the middle of a busy intersection nearly causing an accident.after having it towed back to the dealer i was told that there was some kind of failure dealing with the valves inside of the engine which caused metal fragments to be present in the oil, causing the engine to seize.i was shown a container which held some of the oil inside my engine and you could clearly see metal particles. They had to replace the entire engine.
Center console on 2013 corvette grand sport grand gets very hot when driving more than half hour.
We purchased the car in july of 2018 from arizona specialty motors with approximately 14,500 miles.we used the car as a 3rd vehicle/recreational driver since purchase.on monday, 09/02/19 we were driving back from mt. Lemmon, az and the car quit running at approximately 18,500 miles halfway down the mountain on our return.fortunately there was a pullout where we were able to bring the car to a stop although we had no power, otherwise we could have driven or pushed over the cliff.we had to have the car towed back and took it to watson chevrolet in tucson, az.on wednesday, 09/04/19 we were informed that the valve dropped in cylinder #2 which resulted in catastrophic engine failure.the car is currently sitting at watson chevrolet with a completely failed motor and have been provided an estimated $20,000 in repairs.gm posted a service bulletin in 2011 claiming this issue was fixed; however, there are numerous reports online that it is still occurring and now we are also a victim.
There have been several situations with the corvette ls7 engine that resulted in dropped valves and blown engines. My source is the corvette forum where several owners have had the problem. The faulty valve guides have been traced back to the engine head supplier . When the valve drops the engine stops and the car becomes a safety risk as there is no power breaks or steering and there is danger of a fire and or accident. General motors must be aware of this problem as they have replaced many engines. They should issue a recall to check the valve guide clearance (wobble )and replace the faulty heads. This would be cheaper that replacing blown engines and safer for the traveling public.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet corvette. After the contact filled the vehicle with fuel, the contact noticed that the fuel cap clicked closed; however, it was not closed and could be lifted without applying any pressure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel cap was defective and needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 14,000.
Fuel smell if tanks filled past half full
The car always has the smell of gasoline.when the fuel tank is filled, the smell is extremely strong both inside and outside.
Gas smell coming from car
Strong gasoline odor after filling gas tank full. Check engine light comes on. Diagnostic code p0442 on car computer. No gas odor when filling tank only one-half full.
Every time i fill up with gas i smell a strong odor of gas for the next few days until the fuel level goes down (driven daily).i can smell the gas odor in and outside of the vehicle and it also fills up my garage with gas fumes.i do not overfill when putting gas in.after looking into this it appears to be a common problem with leaks in the fuel pump to fuel tank area or cracks around tank fittings, and should be looked into as a very serious safety issue.

When the car is half full or over with gas whether parked inside or out, there must be leaking because the fuel smell in garage is extremely strong and worried about a fire. The smell is coming from the drivers side forward wheel well. Even outside it smell super strong! please advise, very concerned..
Very strong gas smell when tank is more than half full.
Every time i fuel up i get a strong fuel smell inside my car and when i open my trunk.
Car only has 31,000 miles on it and it's leaking gas from the top of the gas tank.will need fuel pump replaced.not a safe thing to have cheap parks, spilling gas over the exhaust pipes. Major safety issue to me!anti lock brake system is also giving issues for a couple years now, noted by previous owner.this car only has 31,000 miles!
Strong gas smell when vehicle is parked after returning from driving. Seems to be coming from the gas tank area. No evidence of any gas leaking, just a strong smell. Can't park the corvette in the garage for fear the gas fumes may ignite. Have an appointment with the dealer set for 7/9/18.
Very strong fuel smell from left rear wheel well. Goes away if tank is 1/2 full or less. Afraid to leave in garage overnight because fumes are so bad i'm worried about fire! vehicle has not been in any accidents or abused.
After filling up the tank on my corvette, i started smelling gas fumes inside the car, and later in my garage. I left the car parked outside for a day, and after putting it back inside the garage, it continued to have a strong smell of gas. I checked the gas cap and it was secure. Dealer said to bring it in immediately.
Raw fuel smell especially after fill-up, strongest on left side near rear wheel area. Cannot park vehicle in garage. Strongest outside but slight odor inside also.
My fuel tank cracked on top, causing fuel to run down on to my exhaust system, very scary. I was in motion on the highway, didn't notice until i pulled into my friends carport, gas then leaked onto his driveway, causing fumes to get into his garage.
Driver side fuel tank leaking/strong gasoline vapors inside cabin
Strong gas odor coming from vehicle.
Vehicle was parked in the garage. Very strong gasoline odor. Checked under vehicle, no evidence of any leaks. Checked gas cap, cap is secure. Odor seems to be stronger near right rear wheel well. Checked internet. Seems to be a fairly common problem related to fuel tank evap or crossover lines.have to park vehicle outdoors due to gas waterheater in garage. Is fuel system covered under emissions warranty? vehicle mileage is 33k.
Strong smell of gasoline coming from rear of car.
There is a smell of gas after filling the tank.whether using hold the handle or the auto fill, when the nozzle clicks off, before removing the nozzle from the tank filler neck, i reach over and manually shut the pump off in one of two ways: 1) multiple handle pumps: move the selected grade "pump lever" from the "up" (to pump) to the "down" (shut off) position, or 2) single handle pump for dispensing multiple grades of gasoline:use a finger to push the actuator up to shut off the pump before replacing the handle on the pump.i never "top off" or "round up to the next cent or dollar" but there is still an odor of gas.
There is a fuel odor in the cockpit and the exterior of the vehicle. The odor is heavier when the gas tank is over half full. The odor appears stronger when the vehicle is parked.
Strong fuel smell coming from left side of car.fuel leaks from fitting at top of fuel pump assembly in left side tank. Many of us corvette forum owners have had this happen.there's even a you-tube video showing where the "crack" occurs.not acceptable to have to repair this after only 3 years of ownership.
Strong gas odor in garage and car after parking. Dealer said fuel pump module is cracked, which means raw gas is being sprayed in area around fuel tank as you drive. Dealer says this is a known issue as he has 2 other customers with same problem.
Car smells like there is a gas leak. Car parked in garage.dealer states no recalls!
I noticed a strong smell of gasoline in my garage and it was also inside the car.this is a well known issue that is the subject of a special service bulletin from gm, described as follows:2007 - 2013 corvette: service bulletin: 15682 primary tank module flange fuel and vapor leaksspecial coverage adjustment15682 primary tank module flange fuel and vapor leaksreference number: n150682release date: july 2016conditionsome 2007 to 2009 model year cadillac xlr and 2007 to 2013 model year chevrolet corvette vehicles may have a condition where a fuel odor is detected, fuel droplets appear below the left-hand fuel tank with fuel gauge level above 1/2, or a malfunction indicator lamp illuminates due to a leak path in the left-hand fuel pump module flange.special coverage adjustmentthis special coverage covers the condition described above for a period of 10 years or 120,000 miles (193,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership.for vehicles covered by vehicle service contracts, all eligible claims with repair orders on or after july 25, 2016, are covered by this special coverage and must be submitted using the labor operation codes provided with this bulletin. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer."i left the vehicle with the dealer this morning and this afternoon was told that they don't smell anything.there are a large number of complaints of this problem in a corvette forum. Https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c6-corvette-general-discussion/3563123-danger-fuel-leaks-safety-recall.html
Fuel smell emits from vehicle. More noticeable when approached while parked... And from inside while driving.
Gas leaking from left side of car
Strong fuel odor in the garage, around the left rear wheel well and inside the vehicle after parked for sometime.gm chevrolet dealer diagnose the problem to crack fuel pump module left side behind the driver seat.gm chevrolet has had the fuel module on backorder for the last week.
Constant fresh fuel fumes filling the car and the garage. Not recongnized by the dealer.
Strong gas smell when above half full.tested many times and is likely related to gm special coverage adjustment 15682, which describes problem perfectly (fuel pump fitting cracks), a very expensive fix.many others like this posted here.however, dealer says my vin is not included in special adjustment even though it is within the described year range (2007-2013).this is not right.please help gm realize they didn't get all vins included that need to be.i bought my car in may 2013, so unlikely it should be precluded.
In the past few months i have noticed a strong gasoline smell from the outside of my car.now that smell is occurring inside the car also evertime i fill the tank. I have checked several databases on line to see if other cars are experiencing this problem and it has been reported several times.it is becoming stronger now than before, however i cannot detect a leak under the car. I will be contacting a dealer about this problem, however it is not the dealer where i purchased the car. I purchased the car in another state.the problem that has been reported with other vehicles like this make and model is a small leak at the valve on the fuel tank due to a broken or cracked connector of some sort.
The car smell like gas when parked in the garage.
Center console on 2013 corvette grand sport grand gets very hot when driving more than half hour.
12000 miles, abrupt and total failure of clutch system while in heavy traffic on major highway. Felt very vulnerable and unsafe while getting to safe area. Car has manual transmission and i was shifting from 2nd to 3rd but could not. Towed and repaired with same part #(norman freed, houston, tx). At 18000mi, received a ltr from chev(specialcoverage adjustment, not recall) that described my failure exactly. Got copy of dealer instruction(doc id 4261587,#14717) which says to "replace the clutch master cylinder with a revised unit that is more robust(different part #). Since i had already had the failure, i assumed that they(bob steele, selling dealer, cocoa fl) would replace my part with the more robust one. They would, but at my cost since this was a special coverage adjustment-clutch activation system, not a recall. They know they have a unacceptable part, and i am constantly aware and worried that i will have another abrupt and total failure. The alternative is to pay $674.75 to have the "more robust" installed. I don't know what their legal, moral or ethical requirements are, but something is clearly wrong with this picture.
Passenger seat belt failed to retract. Intermittent locking of seatbelt noticed prior to incident on both driver and passenger seatbelts. Failure indicates that seatbelt mechanism will not function in an accident and could cause injury or a fatality.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet corvette. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 mph when the brake pedal was applied. Without warning, the steering wheel pulled to the left and right. The failure occurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was unable to be replicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 900.
I bought this used corvette back in the summer of 2015. After i purchased the car i noticed vibration problem at various speeds above 60 miles per hour. The steering wheel was not only shaking all over the place. The car was physically vibrating as i was driving down the interstate highway. I couldn't believe it because it only had 1289 miles on it. I noticed that the vehicle had a vibration problem early on and was checked at 570 miles at steve schmitt chevy but never saw it again. Thought issue was fixed. I brought car back to bill stasek chevy where i purchased car with full warranty and told them about the vibration problem. They said they fixed it by replacing 2 front tires and rebalancing the rear tires.they drove it and said it was fixed. Drove it home and it was much better than before. Several weeks went by and once again the vibration and steering issue returned. So i brought it back to the same dealer and explained that the same vibration problem had once again returned.they told me that they did the repair via the service bulletin that came out on that vibration issue from gm.explained to me that that was all they could do and they knew there is a defect in that year car but it is not a safety issue. So here i sit with a 76,000 dollar corvette with 5000 miles on it and a vibration that know one can or will fix.i can't find the service bulletin but the mechanic who did the work on my car did show it to me at the dealership. I think someone needs to look into this.i feel it's unsafe and if the car is built with this known defect it should be fined or at least recall all c-6 corvettes with this issue. I know i'm not the only one because i get i corvette forum and heard other owners of this model have this same problem as well.
Center console on 2013 corvette grand sport grand gets very hot when driving more than half hour.
After driving the car for a relatively short period of time (30 to 60 minutes), the center console area is extremely hot to the touch.i would only be guessing at the temperature of the console when it is so hot, but it gets so uncomfortably hot, that i cannot keep my hand on it for more than just a few seconds!
Car purchased in michigan 01/21/2013.while on vacation from michigan to montana to californiaback to michigan via route 66 i encountered a rear interior excessive overheating problem. Exterior temperature upper 80's to upper 90's the temperature of the carpet and arm rest storage area would exceed 120 deg. Lift up a suitcase or put arm on console storage area would burn your arm or hand. If you lifted the suitcase and touched the bottom or arm on armrest would burn you hand or arm. Heat inside storage area exceeded est. Of 130 deg and burned spots in cell phone screen and computer in suitcase melted hard drive and ruined computer.the ac on interior heat was approx 75 degs, i have a privacy curtain covering the rear storage area thus making it much cooler than one without it. Anything touching carpet in rear, inside arm rest or putting your arm on the rest would burn it. You could not touch under suitcase or have skin touching the rest would be very uncomfortable. Excessive heat coming from under vehicle into the tunnel where transmission and exhaust are located damaged those items. There is not sufficient insulation under carpet or under vehicle tunnel causes excessive overheating. There needs to have more insulation under carpet or under vehicle in the tunnel. All other surfaces in car were not effected. Under floor mats was barely warm to the touch.
Magnetic shocks are leaking at only 24,000 miles. Dealer says they need to be replaced out of warranty at over $400 per shock.
Twice this month i filled up my gas tank and both times i can smell the gas fumes in my car and when parked in garage, it smells really bad of gas fumes.

The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet corvette. While driving 35 mph, the tpms warning indicator illuminated and the "rear tire low" message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to three-way chevrolet (4501 wible rd, bakersfield, ca 93313, (661) 384-7578)where it was diagnosed that the rear wheel had a hairline crack. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was 13,000. The vin was unknown.
Three wheels have cracked and had to be replaced. The 2 original 20 inch rear wheels installed by general motors cracked, leaked air and had to be replaced.now one of those replacement wheels has cracked, leaks air and has to be replaced.in all cases there have been no events concurrent with the wheels losing air.
The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet corvette. While the vehicle's oil was being changed at suburban chevrolet (36936 us-26, sandy, or 97055), the dealer noticed that the threads on the stud bolts on the rear passenger side wheel had stretched, failed, and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,700.
The contact owns a 2013 chevrolet corvette. When the contact arrived at discount tire to have the tires replaced, the technician stated that the two rear oem wheels had hairline fractures on the inside barrels. The contact stated that there was no loss of tire pressure. Three years later, the tires began to lose 3-5 pounds of pressure per week. The vehicle was taken back to discount tire where it was discovered that the wheel fractures had expanded, which caused the failure in the wheels. Bill fox chevrolet (725 s rochester rd, rochester hills, mi 48307, (248) 266-0563) was contacted and the wheels were replaced. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 34,000.
