Replaced starter.
An electrical short in the wiring that connects to the brake lights and abs systems, caused wiring to smoke.
While driving smoke came from under the steering column switch, there was no fire present just smoke.also the wires melted, the dealer was contacted, and stated that a service bulletin was out on this incident.but the dealer could not duplicate the problem.
Smoke was coming from the steering column due to a fire.no warranty was driving at 10-15mph. Dealer cannot duplicate the problem.

There is a very bad vibration coming from the front end of the vehicle when the vehicle is in reverse. When taken to the dealership, dealer stated that the rubber on the motor mounts was worn out which causes the engine to drop on the chassis. The problem has not been corrected.
Bought vehicle in aug of 93. A year later head gasket blew out. Took vehicle to dealer a couple of weeks before the gasket blew,and the dealer could not find a problem. So after the gasket blew out, took the vehicle back and they still could not find a problem. But the gasket has blowen out several times after the first time in 96 of june.

I have noticed sincethe car was new,that while turning ,unable to switch headlights from low beams to high beams.i feel this can be somewhat dangerous, especially when getting off an interstate exit ramp.
Design of high beam switch cannot be turned off when vehicle is manuvering a right turn/curve because a part of steering wheel blocks it from being turned off causing poor visibility to oncoming traffic.nlm
When right blinker is on, high beam cannot be shut off, also blinker cannot beturned on when steering wheel is in certain positions.

I drove the car approximately 3 miles, i pulled in to a parkings spot, turned off the engine, and exited the vehicle. I walked across the parking lot (about 20 yards) when i heard someone say "that car is on fire!!!!" i turned to look and noticed that it was my car.according to the fire department, when they put the fire out the first time, it flared back up due to the fuel pump still pumping gas out. (the keys were in my pocket).
The fuel pressure regulator failed were as the diaphram had a major leak causing gas to be pumped through the diaphram directly into the throttle body. Gas poured out of the throttle body and filled the air cleaner housing full of gas. Gas was dripping from the throttle body were the duct connected and leads to the air cleaner. This gas leak was leaking onto the crossover over exhuast pipe. The gas streamed out of the vacuum port of the regulator at a good rate only when the ignition was switched on and the pump came on for approximatly 5 seconds. The car was repeatedly tried to start and the ignition was cycled over ten times.each cycling of the ignition pumped over a cup of gas into the aircleaner. The car did not have a heavy gas smell until i lossened the screws of the aircleaner top and gas poured out all over the elecrical components below. This car showed no problems before this happen. The car was being driven on the highway and when my wife got off and stopped at the intersection the car quit. I feel this type of failure was extremly dangerous and could have been worse.

Within 16 months have had to replace left rear brake drum 3 times because the drum gets warped out of round.the mechanic has indicated that on that particular gm style car, this has been a common problem, indicating that the parts may not have been manufactured with sufficient strength to withstand the braking.the last of the 3 times was only 3 weeks after the previous replacment.

The position of the steering wheel interferes with headlights low/high switch,causing the headlight switch to be inoperable. Dealer cannot determine problem.when the steering wheel was turned clockwise, the multifunction lever impacts the steering wheel making it impossible to change the headlight beam from high to low and specifically, the cruise control button switch on the turn signal lever makes contact with the steering wheel the beam switch cannot be activated.
While driving going (65) mphused the tilt wheel mechanismand a piece in the steering column broke,allowing the steering wheel to become loose and fall in the driver's hand. The vehicle is being corrected a dealership.
