The gas tank/gauge will be on "full", then-while driving, the gas gauge will go to "e" and the dash will alert you as to no fuel. Upon taking this vehicle to the dealer the first time, the dealer could find no issues through the computer. The "second" occurrence-the vehicle was taken to a different dealer, and they stated the fuel level sensor needed to be replaced. The "third" occurrence-the gauge went to "e", while driving, the dealer claimed it was now a cord/wire that attached to the fuel level sensor running the length of the vehicle under the truck. Since it "appears" the resolution to this issue is questionable, and the dealer(s) have not fully corrected the issue, how can i be confident the vehicle actually has fuel? also, there is an issue with the blue tooth linking to "i-phones/ios systems (only), not android phone/systems,as call/text notifications may not always alert while you are in the vehicle. The first dealer stated they contacted gm, but so far-there is no final resolution from gm regarding the blue tooth issue with i-phones/ios systems. I do have all receipts for all actions taken regarding this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2019 chevrolet colorado. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, there was smoke coming from the front windshield. The vehicle was pulled over, opened the hood and let the vehicle sit for a while. The vehicle was taken to the arcadia chevrolet buick located at (210 s brevard ave, arcadia, fl 34266) where it was diagnosed that the heater core needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
Key gets stuck in ignition when shutting engine off leaving driver stranded and stuck with vehicle until key releases from ignition. No warning lights.
I have a blue screen on my back up camera display. When i put the truck in reverse the radio/camera display says "service back up camera".
2019 chevy colorado with 13125 miles driving st rt 45 lisbon ohio40 - 45 mph up slight grade, noticed / smelled smoke in console area between seats, tried to do minor acceleration to get over slight grade and the engine died. Pulled into parking lot to stop and no brakes no power steering ,tried emergency brake still did not stop.split decision to either crash into concrete barrier or get back onto highway. Light traffic so muscled truck back on highway and bumped curb to try and slow vehicle. Finally slowed enough to try emergency brake again and it worked to stop truck. Put truck in park and exited vehicle, with flamed shooting out driver side underneath between driver door and passenger door. Running board hot enough to burn my jeans as i exited. Volunteer fire fighter tried to put out fire with fire extinguisher as did highway patrol. Flames still active. Volunteer fire department arrived and after about 15 min had fire put out. No warning chimes, no flashing lights, nothing to indicate a problem.insurance company had independent investigator look at vehicle, he/she believes is a general motors issue and has contacted them to also investigate cause.
As i went around a turn (low speed), the truck lost power steering for about a half of a second. It came back online right away, but caused me to take the turn poorly. At the same time, the engine shut down and all of the lights on the dash went out. I stopped the vehicle, put it in park and restarted the vehicle. Everything then worked as if nothing was wrong. There are not any warning lights. It was as if someone simply turned off the ignition for a minute.
Since shortly after purchasing the vehicle new, i have experienced hard shifting, slipping when accelerating, also experience rough idle at times.i have had the torque converter replaced but i still ha e the problem. I've even had the service manager ride with me and he stated he experienced the lugging sensation, and said it's normal, they still did nothing to help me, and this is noted on their service record! this vehicle has been in the shop several times for the same issue, and i get the same answer as they find nothing wrong.

Oil filter adapter insert gm part number 12696079. Becomes unattached from oil filter housing if not extremely careful during a oil change service. Resulting in total engine failure. Mine was dislodged during a oil change. But i caught the no oil pressure warming immediately. Others across the country have not been a lucky. See gm tech bulletin 19-na-006 or gm tech link.com
Just took delivery of a 2019 chevrolet colorado.the headlamp low beam will not come on for either l or r headlamp.
The contact owns a 2019 chevrolet colorado. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a fuel leak at the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (1205 price rd se, albany, or 97322) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the fuel tank leak was due to road debris which punctured the fuel tank. The vehicle had remained in custody of the dealer due to the parts necessary for the repair being on back order. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue but offered no additional assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 24,000.

Transmission is shuddering when accelerating. This shuddering event beganaround 9,000 miles and has progressively worsened. Service bulletin 18-na-355 has been published but with mixed results. Requesting government agency continues to monitor this as the sudden lurching could potentially put drivers into a dangerous intersection or be unable to accelerate to avoid a hazard. This is a large safety concern and transmissions are expensive to fix/maintain and the cost should be absorbed by the manufacturer as reports of this issue grow and become more widespread.
Truck vibrates at highway speedsit's like driving on a gravel road
Vehicle lurches forward when rolling up hill to a stop or applying the brake on an uphill stop at low speed or when going uphill at low speed while off road & it lunges hard enough to spin both back wheels on gravelthis happens when attempting to pull onto the highway from a gravel driveway
Key gets stuck in ignition when shutting engine off leaving driver stranded and stuck with vehicle until key releases from ignition. No warning lights.
Chevrolet 2019 colorado - experiencing slipping on transmission - feels like driving on rumble strips all the time
. I was at the carwash vacuuming the truck while in drive when i got back to the passenger side to put the hose up, i reached in to remove my keys out of the ignition, and the truck rolled backwards, i ran to the driver side and the door knocked me to the ground and the 2019 colorada ran over my entire body from my feet to my face and head. I suffered a punctured lung and my pelvic bone is fractured in several places. All of this was caught on tape.
The contact owns a 2019 chevrolet colorado. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the shop twice for transmission failure. While driving 50 mph, the contact stated it felt like he was driving over a bunch of speed bumps. Camp chevrolet cadillac (101 e montgomery ave, spokane, wa 99207, (509) 381-2970) removed, inspected, and reinstalled the torque converter during the first visit. During the second visit, the dealer inspected the vehicle and only performed an oil change. The contact called the manufacturer and an inspection appointment was scheduled for april 23, 2019. The failure mileage was 1,100.
Transmissionjerks and jumps going up a grade, or when applying power during acceleration. It is like driving on a rumble strip, shudders and vibrates the cab. Have appointment with dealer next week, vehicle was purchased new and has 3600 miles.
At highway speeds of about 60-65 mph the transmission in my 2019 colorado zr2 v6 automatic (the truck has only 5700 miles on it) has a shudder or shaking problem which shakes the whole truck.it also causes a loud low frequency booming noise.when it started happening it was alarming.
I experience harsh shifts from 1-2 gear and when downshifting 2-1. It jolts the whole truck.it sometimes randomly downshifts for no reason when i driving on the highwayi am afraid that something is going to fail in the drivetrain when i'm driving.
The transmission slips, bangs into gear when cold. The dealer is telling me this is normal, based from a bulletin from gm. I bought the truck with a 112 miles on it, the trasmission has slipped from the very first day.
After coming to a complete stop, the transmission does not drop into 1st gear. When starting from a stop, the transmission kicks into gear very hard, causing a loud noise and causing the driver and passengers to have their necks jerked back, very hard.this problem was present from the time i pulled it off the lot with 4 miles on it. I have taken it back to the dealer, only to be told they can't find anything. This problem occurs every time the truck is driven at nearly ever stop i make.the rear brakes pads are wearing out 3 times faster, than the front pads. I have never had to change rear brakes in a vehicle, but the chevy colorado has an issue with rear brakes wearing very quickly.
While driving at different speeds i get a bad vibration. I have read where a lot of people have this problem with the colorado. Dealer says to wait for a recall. I would like to have it repaired now. I paid over 30,000 for this vehicle and can't drive it the way i would like to. It will loosen every bolt on the vehicle.
Transmission shuttering causing challenges especially when accelerating
The transmission surges causing the truck to lunge forward when starting from a stop.the key will not turn completely off allowing the key to be removed.both events occur occasionally so if the dealer says it did not happen to them then there is nothing they can do.both things are being reported on the internet by numerous people.both things are safety hazards.
2019 chevy colorado zr2-shutters or hesitates before shifting up at 5 / 45 / 65 mph.feels like you did not press the gas when accelerating.it is intermittent, so therefore very hard to duplicate for the dealership.three times to the dealer. #1 tranny flush#2 reprogrammed the tranny #3 sorry ma'am we can't duplicate what you are experiencing.i live in michigan on those 0 degree mornings the truck barely wants to get going.dealership says 'this is normal with an 8 speed transmission.'i told the dealership i have owned a lot of cars and none have had this problem.occasionally it lunges forward when coming to a stop- this is so dangerous as i drive in the city everyday.very expensive problem to have.
The transmission has a delayed downshift, causing the truck jump forward during a stop. When coming to a stop, it feels like the truck is being hit from behind, at the same time, making a loud mechanical noise. Sometimes it hits so hard, it will cause the truck to be thrown past my driveway, while preparing to turn into the driveway. It was recommended that the factory transmission fluid be replaced with a thicker fluid, so i took it to the dealership and had that done. Although it fixed the previous issue of vibration, caused from the transmission switching back and fourth between gears rapidly, but it did not fix the hard and delayed downshift. This has been an issue from the moment i pulled it off the lot, with only 4 miles on the odometer. The truck was immediately returned to the dealership, in which they said they could find nothing wrong with it.
Late down shift ... Shifts hard ... Vehicle lurches forward on a stop
Vehicle transmission seems to late down shift when slowing, causing the vehicle to jump forward once shifting has completed.
Hard shifting from 1st gear to 2nd gear specially when it is cold or on the first drive. The transmission seems to not engage the second gear and when it does it results in a hard jolt.
Transmission does a slight kick before shifting at speeds between 20-45 mph on streets and highways. Girlfriends sister-in-law experienced same problem with her vehicle. Her paperwork when she got her car back referenced chevy's bulletin# 18-na-091
Vehicle shutters between the speed of 15mph to 35mph shaking vehicle very bad. Leaking back sliding glass, no sealant around glass dealer had to replace back window new mounding and sealant. Carpet in back is soaked with possibility of mold. Dealer did not make any effort to clean carpet or headliner when rear window was repaired. The headliner had a bad stain and was superficially cleaned, leaving possibility of mold in the future. The carpet and floor mats were not cleaned leaving possibility of mold in the future. Poor service in this area.
Eight speed transmission shutters and vibratesunder normal acceleration. More noticeable on hills or under light load. Chevy dealers answer: they all do it!! after extensive online searcher, i found this problem has been ongoing for 3 to 4 years with numerous complaints and dissatisfied owners!they fail to tell you this when your buying vehicle. Chevy has a technical service bulletin # 16na175 on problem, but will not resolve problem. Of all the vehicles i've owned over the years, i have never had a driveability problem this serious.
Transmission shutters around 25 to 35 miles a hour under load
Truck began shuddering while driving at 600 miles on the odometer. When the vehicle is accelerating around 40 mph and roughly 1200 rpm is when it is most noticeable, but can also feel it at hwy speeds 60-75 mph. Feels like i am driving over speed grooves in the road (best way to describe the shudder when the truck is shifting between gears).
2019 chevrolet colorado z71 4x4vehicle shutters noticeably when in motion on flat roads or uphill. Problem always occurs in all road and environment temps and appears most often in moving operation of 45 to 65 mph.
Bought 6 months ago 7000 miles. When drivingfelt like i driving over rumble strips,i took if to the dealer and they claim that was normal. They changed the fluid and said drive it for 500 miles. Now i took it back again because every time i start it and there is a bang in the transmission, they wanted me to leave it and refused to give me a loaner vehicle. They told me don't worry about you have a 5 year warranty on you drive train. Told them me and my wife were going on vacation and they didn't seem to care. I am very disgusted with this purchase i made. Wouldn't recommend this vehicle to anyone.
The truck shifts aggressively between 10 and 20 mph. Like it's slipping not engaging into second gear. Started noticing it at 16,000 miles and had the truck since brand new.*dt
I experianced tranmission chatter at around 12,000 miles. When i read that this is a common problem do to the wrong transmission fluid installed at the manufacturer.it was noted to have the service department change it to mobil 1 transmission fluid.after 11,000 more miles i now have the same chatter back.i fel that the service departments do not want to dive further into finding out what the problem is, cause it's under warrenty repair and the don't make any money off of your complaint.so that you come back and have to pay out of your pocket when your warrenty is up.this should be a recall matter in my eyes. Write all your coverns directly to gm and vent your anger with them. And if that doesn't work i'm going to the news crews to make it known.
The transmission causes the truck to shutter when on a slight incline or under slight pressure/strain. Occasionally the truck shift very hard. I'm concerned that the transmission wont last and it causes a terrible ride.
Shuttering/shaking when shifting gears while in motion speeds from 10mph to 80mph. More so in stop and go traffic on the highway or city street.harsh down shift when coming to a stop.
In motion. 8 speed transmissionfails to shift right . It shutters bad.
After replacing transmission fluid per tsb 19417577 truck occasionally does not come out of gear when slowing down to a point where engine goes under 500 rpm where gas is applied to keep from stalling.this surge while braking under 10 mph then requires hard press on brake which does seem to drop transmission out of gear with hard clunk.stopped just inches short at light from car in front of me stopped at light.dealer can not immediately reproduce with short test drive, and will not even attempt to troubleshoot.been told to bring back when it happens more often.
The 2019 colorado z71 i have has been in the shop at the dealer 8 times since march. The transmission shutters while trying to maintain a consistent speed between 40-60 mph. The transmission also slips and jerks when slowing down and reaccelerating. Dealer continues to tell me they can not recreate the issues. It has become so that i do not feel safe allowing my wife to travel in this vehicle. I fear that she will be stranded on the side of the road or involved in an accident because of the issue at hand. This is her primary mode of transportation.
Transmission shudders when accelerating and decelerating. I bought this truck new 1 month ago!!!!
The vehicle was going down hill on a very busy highway when we tapped the brakes to slow down and the brakes went to the floor and we skid about 300 yards before being able to get the truck to come to a stop. We kept tapping brakes trying to get them to grab and stop us luckily, the car a head of us turned right at the light so we did not crash into them. Then when it did stop the rpm started reeving up and the truck lunged forward then the rpm went down. We were very lucky we did not go through the intersection and wreck.

Volunteer fire fighter tried to put out fire with fire extinguisher as did highway patrol. Flames still active. Volunteer fire department arrived and after about 15 min had fire put out. Truck worked perfectly fine, then it was parked for a week because i had to have emergency eye surgery.after a week, started truck.truck started spewing errors u0121 and u0131.managed to get it to dealership with no steering and am told it is a power steering module failure and the cost to fix is $1800.the truck is barely out of warranty and i have seen numerous posts on forums across the internet of others that have also experienced problems with their 2019 colorados and the recalls on the 2015s for the same issue.- component:power steering module - safety:absolutely no power steering, extremely difficult to almost impossible to steer. - reproduction: yes, truck is at dealership.confirmed errors and confirmed power steering module needs to be replaced. - warnings:no warnings prior to truck being parked for a week.as soon as truck was started, received warnings and no power steering or traction control.absolutely no symptoms prior.
The brakes and rotors in the rear of the truck were grinding at 21k miles. Brought it to dealership at 23k miles and had to replace rear brake pads and rotors.
I came up to a two lane city street, four way stop intersection and stopped. I turned my steering wheel to the right (in order to make a right hand turn) and stepped on the gas. The vehicle turned to the left, out into the intersection, instead of right. The steering stayed locked to the left and would not turn in in either direction.i had just came off the interstate highway.had the failure occurred while on the interstate, it would have been catastrophic.the dealer said, there was an internal failure in the steering motor. I understand that parts can fail, but the fact that there was no fail safe mode, is disconcerting.i lost all control of my steering. I hate to think of what would have happened if i was at speed instead of stopped.
Chevrolet 2019 colorado - experiencing slipping on transmission - feels like driving on rumble strips all the time
The contact owns a 2019 chevrolet colorado. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the electric power steering failed and the steering wheel stiffened. The contact pulled over and restarted the vehicle however, the failure recurred. The message "service power steering unit drive carefully" was displayed. An independent mechanic went to the contact's residence and diagnosed that the power steering had failed and informed the contact that there was a recall related to the failure. The dealer was made aware of the failure, but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the vin. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 37,000.

There are not any warning lights. It was as if someone simply turned off the ignition for a minute.
Steering started making a "rattling" noise and finally locked up so it could not be turned to the right.because of the rattling noise, i drove to a nearby chevrolet dealer (auto nation, gilbert, az) and then as i was working with the service manager, the steering locked up.

In cold weather rear doors very hard to latch. The back doors latch but stay ajar with warning light on and are loose. The front doors latch into this particular set up. This is an extended cab not a four door. Without latching properly, front doors may pop open creating a possible risk of injury or death. This will happen when vehicle stationary but may be driven with doors not secured
While traveling straight down a gravel driveway the front passenger control arm broke causing the wheel to collapse and fold up under the vehicle.the vehicle was traveling at approximately 15 mph.the driver noticed loss of steering and then an abrupt stop.there were no signs that anything was wrong with the vehicle before the incident occured.the vehicle did not strike anything to cause the damage.the driveway was in good condition and there was nothing unusually that would have caused this type of failure.no one was hurt in the incident.the fracture in the control arm shows signs of cracking (based on picture attached).
The key remains stuck in the ignition when the vehicle is turned off.this started occurring intermittently about two months ago but has become constant in the last two weeks.i'm concerned about leaving the key due theft concerns.i have an appointment with the dealer, but my research has found that this problem has been persistent with model years 2016 to the present.
I was driving on highway when i noticed several people passing me on the right and pointing down at my truck. I remember my truck had slowed down and when i went to press on the gas and move to the right lane to pull over it did not respond. I then noticed smoke filling the cabin that was coming from underneath and up through the transmission stick. When i hit the brakes they went right to the floor. I ended up using the ebrake to slow the truck down and pull to the side. When i exited the vehicle it was already on fire and i proceeded to move myself to safety. A passing fireman tried to use an extinguisher to put out the fire to no avail. The truck only had 14000 miles on it and was two years old with no recent work done to it at all
Key keeps getting stuck in the ignition apparently talking to the dealership service department, they have no clue either. Many other people complaining and gm not doing anything about it. This should be a recall since it is affecting many different colorados and different year models also
Truck shudders while driving can't tell if it is going to shutdown or brakes strange shuddering while driving
