Intake manifold is leaking on 5.7 vortec. I know of 2 other trucks that this has also happened on as well as the dealer is well aware of the problem. It is also well documented on the web. If you have a 5.7 liter motor it is not if it's going to happen but when. Why do i have 100,000 coolant when the gaskets only last 74,000? intake manifold water leak.... *la
The machanic said the canister plugged by driving on gravel roads and that the new canister is redesigned. My question is-- should i have to pay for replacing a $160 canister and hose which may not have been designed quit right.replacing a air filter for $10 to $20 does not bother me, but when your told a canister in a pickups fuel system needs replacing, because of gravel road use --------that does not seem right!!!!!!

At all speeds truck will start to slow down then accelerate. The vehicle will come almost to a stop and then suddenly speed up. It is as if both the brake and throttle were being depressed at the same time, except the vehicle slows without hesitation then suddenly accelerates. I have had numerous near misses, the vehicle will start to deccelerate smoothly then there is a slight rise in the brake pedal (like backpressure) then an acceleration, or release of the breaks. I am reporting as failed components both the braking systems and the throttle controls/ computer as they all seem to be interconnected. I have reported this to the service department of my dealer three times, then gave up. They say there are no other complaints and no service bulltens out.
Seats in vehicle have very high seats which orce driver to sit out of balance and create rear and right side blind spots.nlm
When entering the x-cab using easy entry - a plastic piece broke that caused the seat not to lock in place - but to slide back and forth while driving.
I have a 1999 chevrolet 1500 silverado pick-up.there is a serious problem with the abs system at slow speeds. (below 20 mph) the braking system automatically goes into abs mode when stopping at a slow speed and no amount of pedal pressure will stop it.gm dealers acknowledge the problem, but want to replace the system at a huge cost to the consumer. It sure seems like a design flaw to me, as well as a safety issue.this p/u has 74,000 miles on it, and should not be having problems with it's brakes. Thanks.

Was driving to store the first time and ready to stop at red light and the bake pedal went right to floor,made it home and saw fluid leaking from a ruptured line.(replaced and had the rest looked over). Second time a year later dec. 23 on turnpike , i had to stop quickly and another brake line failed ,taking it in this week to be replaced again. All because of rusted and corroded lines.
I have a 1999 chevrolet silverado truck that has defective abs brakes. On several occasions, i nearly crashed when i could not stop the vehicle at low speeds even though i pushed on the brake pedal with all my might.i had the brake system repaired at a small shop at a cost of over $300.00 but the "fix" was only temporary. It was explained to me that the problem is a defect in general motors design relating to improper voltages to the sensors. I have had many near accidents since then.i don't know what to do and am afraid an accident will occur in all likelihood. The latest incident occurred at a restaurant where i came very close to striking a tree.
My 1999 chevrolet tahoe (2dr, 4x4) had an abs sensor failure due to debris buildup which cased the abs to indicate a false wheel lock at low speeds on dry pavement.this failure is identical to the failures that prompted the canadian recall of gm suvs having this abs configuration.the dealership had to replace the hub and bearing assembly, and clean all of the abs sensors in order to stop the false triggering of the abs system.
I have had numerous problems with the brakes on my 1999 chevrolet tahoe, similar to the problems that have been noted in the recent recall number 05v3790000.i had a slow speed impact crash in 1998 that resulted in severe damage to the vehicle that i rear ended, and minor damage to my vehicle.i remember thinking at the time, that it sure took a long time for my vehicle to come to a stop, considering that i was traveling at a slow rate of speed, but i attributed it to my vehicle's heavier weight, but also thinking, it could not have been that bad, because my airbag did not deploy.it took forever for me to stop, and i had my foot on the brake pedal all the way down.i have had my brake pads and rotors replaced at mileage rates, that should not have been otherwise necessary, but i was told by chevrolet dealerships that the repairs were necessary, so i continued to pay for all repairs on my brakes.any time my vehicle is driven by another of my family members, they comment on how low the brakes are, and i become frustrated, as it is usually, right after a brake job!i would like for you to investigate complaints on vehicles and crashes in west texas, as well as new mexico and california where there is sand.at the time of my accident, i resided in el paso, texas, which is comprised of 100% sand.there are frequent sand storms, and really, that is the makeup of the landscape in that area.if the recall in the northern states is due to the use of salt on the roads, what about the sand that is everywhere in west texas?i have had the same defects and failures with my brakes as the vehicles that are driven up north, but i was not aware that i could lodge a complaint regarding this matter to the nhtsa before this recall was issued. Imagine my disappointment when i discovered the recall is only effective in the northern states. Please, look into broadening the recall to include states where fine sand could affect the brakes and result in failure.
1999 chevorlet silverado truck, c/k model,milage of 45,000 abs module activated continuously , abs light stayed on. Abs system inooperative, close call while vehicle was in motion! due to brakes not working properly!
Abs light came on.stopped truck and heard loud "clicking" noise.took truck to dealer (corona chevrolet).dealer said "it's your abs pump.it will cost $1000 dollers to fix.could cause a fire.do you want us to fix it?"what else could i say?the dealer did throw in a "free" oil change ($19.95 value).
When vehicle was turned off abs module was still running.consumer approached the vehicle after hearing a humming sound coming from the driver's side.after getting under the vehicle abs module was humming and was extremely hot totouch.
I was pulling into advanced auto when the brakes gave out on me. I jumped the curb and side walk and was stopped by a trash can and the front wall. Luckly i wasn't going fast and didn't go through the wall. This is the 3rd time my brakes went out like this. I also told to many other people who have later model chevy's.they also have had this problem. All three times i had wheel sensors replaced. I feer the next time i won't be so lucky. I also know that i'm not the first one to report this. This has been an ongoing problem. When will this be fixed.

1 tire has a bubble and other tire's outside tread is coming apart.contacted the dealership where purchased and they advised me to call general tire.i contacted general tire at 1-800-847-3349 & they referred me to the chevrolet dealer in lampasas texas.i was to speak to jim smith but he was not available.was told by a coworker that "general tires do not come apart".i disagree.what do i need to do to get them replaced?i feel they could cause a problem such as the problems with the firestone tires if the tread comes apart...( dot number: tire size: 245175r16 )

While traveling approximately 25 mph in a 1999, chevrolet z71 truck left rear firestone tire, size: p265/75r16, dot: w273wmb189 experienced a blowout.there were 12,000 miles on tire, and it was original equipment.blowout was approximatley 1 1/2 inches in length, and was in center of the tread.
While driving at 60 mph, and without warning, the left front tire blewout, resulting in major damage to the front end of truck. (goodrich trail edge-lt215/85r16 m+s dot bfop c01498 tire inflation had been checked on may 19,2002 at 65psi) *scc

While driving a vibration began in the right rear tire, upon inspection the consumer was told that the tread was seriously distored, the consumer replaced all four tirs (firestone lt245/75r16 steeltex radial r4st tires - the vehicle is a 1999 roadtrek popular).nlm
On three occasions after the trailer locked onto the kingpin of the consumers fifth-wheel trailer, the trailer separated from the hitch causing the trailer to fall on the trucks rails and resulting in significant damage to both the truck and the trailer.nlm
Returned to dealer 8+times gm case file opened #990533542 item not corrected i feel this is a safty item for me and my familysteering wheel vibration @highway speeds also have bulletin no 99-03-09-002 which states gm knows of this condition and when i ask them to send me a letter staying this is a safe condition no reply i question how many people are at risk due to this condition i also called d o t @ your 800 #thank you
Trail blazer model; this truck has carbon build up on throttle body which makes driver push the accelerator pedal with force. Consumer can not use the gas pedal gently to move slowly.*jg
During a rain storm on 4/2/05, my windshield wipers stopped working in mid-stream.i had to pull over to the side of the road rather suddenly, no injuries were sustained nor crashes, however iwas very shaken by it all.iactually sat on the side of the road until the rain turned into a drizzle.i took my car to the dealer and was told a pulse control module was needed, the part was replace for $239.98.
