Crash was nearly headon and airbags did not deploy.

Vehicle experienced loss of control at 45 mph causing vehicle to run off the road hitting a tree which resulted in no deployment of driver / passenger side airbag during crash.

Prior to the transmission being destroyed from normal driving, the oil pan had to be replaced by the dealer ( wrong pan at the manufacturer).the computer had to be constantly adjusted for the carborator and gear ratio, this took about two months.the seat adjustment broke off and has not yet been replaced.with all of this it has cost me $600. Dollars in car rentals and $3,000. Dollars in lost work time.

Defective fuel injection pump is causing toxic fumes to enterin the cab of the vehicle. Also, causing loss of vehicle power which could result in an accident.dealer has rebuilt pump, defect is still occurring.

Dt: consumer first hada fuel injectionpump failure in april 2004, and itwas replaced.it failed again in september 2004, and was no longer covered under warranty.

Fuel injectors system failed twice.

Left rear door lock / handle malfunctioned.

Seatbelt malfunctioned.

Driver's side seat backrest broke while driving vehicle. This has happened 2 other times while moving seat to allow passengers to enter/exit. Took vehicle to dealership & mechanic repaired the seat backrest each time. The seat back rest would break each time it has been repaired.

Anti lock brakes system continually malfunctions causing excessive wear to the rotors. Mjs

I bought my above described truck in oct. Of 1998. Since then i have had my front brakes replaced twice, had my rotors turned once and finally had to have the rotors replaced. I was told by chevrolet dealer mechanics and managers that chevrolet has an inadequate braking system for trucks that large. Basically the braking system is not powerfull enough to have a long life span. It prematurely wears out and has to be replaced to often.

The antilock brake sensor activates the abs system at low speeds nearly every time we try to stop requiring a longer stopping distance than normal.this has caused several close calls, but so far no accidents.

There were problems with the master cylinder and the two font brake sensors.mrafter the consumer applied the brakes at any speed, the brakes would somehow releasethe trunk and would continue to go.the consumer has requested information about the faulty electrical wiring in the seats.scc*nlm

Patina con mucha facilidad es muy pligroso en mojado he estado a punto de tener accidentes, la emergencia si se le pone en cuesta empinada, el camion se va cuesta abajo solo, este sistema de freno entiendo no es recomendable para este tamano de equipo, el mas recomendable seria el sist. Frenos de aire, ya que fui trailistapor mas de 20 anos y se como opera el sistema,el eje o tren muerto delantero vino doblado de frabrica segun 2 expertos lozada truck y gm alegan yo lo doble es imposible segun expertos quizas eso influye a que patine con facilidad, problemas electricos con power windows, aire acondicionado, se sobrecalientan los fusibles y tumban todo el sistema cuando mas se necesita, mala relacion de motor, transmision y diferencial en ocaciones no tiene fuerza para subir cuestas altas, tambien el sr. Terraza de lozada y dealer autorizado de gm, alega no esta obligado a dar garantias de este equipo, entiendo que si lo esta, ya que pr es parte de eua y en muchos casos tratan los casos de aca como si fueramos alliens, respecto a inf. Requerida en el cuestionario con fecha de sucesos, velocidad y ocaciones las anotadas no son correctas del todo ya que fueron muchas veces a dif. Consumer was getting new tires installed when he was told that they found that the left rear brake was in an extremely bad condition and the outside rotor was full of grooves and the 2nd brake pad was worn to the extent that it was falling to pieces with a very irregular pad pattern.the brake and the rotor were original equipment and did not appear that the wheels had ever been off the axle.consumer was told that if it had not been discovered, that this could have caused a serious accident.consumer is seeking any reimbursement that chevrolet motor division can provide.motorhome on chevrolet chasis *scc

Brakes vibrate and do not stop effectively resulting in one incident of rear ending other vehicle due to brake drum failure.

I have a 1998 chev, full size, extended cab pickup truck.the antilock brakes carroded exactly like what was discribed in your investigation by the national highway traffic safety administration.it was a very scarey feeling when i applied the brakes and it failed to propery stop the vehicle.in order to correct the problem, the garage took them apart and cleaned all the corrision off plus broke one sensorbecause it was corrided so badly.it cost me a total of $200.00 to have it repaired.the 1998 pickups should be a part of this recall also. I did buy this truck brand new in nov. Of 1997.i hope to hear from you on this and keep me posted on your findings.thank you.

Consumer states the steering wheel speed sensor can malfunction, causing a loss of pressure on the steering wheel and oversteering, dealer told consumer that this was a common problem.

Vehicle experiences intermittent steering failure when turning right, design of the speed sensitive steering system is allowing for poor directional control on occasions.

I bought this vehicle used september 2010.between 45-70 mph, turning slightly or hard turn, steering makes popping sound and veers in that directions without assistance.on straight-aways, the vehicle will veer either direction on its own without assistance.

Nar 03-27-2003mrproblems with steering wheel position sensor.

Front end suspension system experiencing problems when turning wheels to the left the brake caliper pin is making contact with the lower a-frame, this could be applying excessive pressure to brake caliper, rotor and a-frame.

Shock bolts failed.

Front spring coil failed.

Tread seperation, no flat at 65 mph. (tiresize: 75r16m/s)( dot number: tire size: 75r16m/s )

Passenger side rear tire lost a piece of tread, 6inches long and 4inches wide from the center of the tread pattern, cooper tires.

Sidewalls on tire are splitting apart and keep going flat . Firestone tires are not safe at all and should be replaced. (tiresize: 245/75/16)( dot number:tire size: 245/75/16 )

Truck will not return to idle when foot is removed from the gas pedal. Nlm

Motor idles high and low,makes a lot of noise when in traffic. Took it to the dealer they said cannot repair until december.

Windshield wipers stopped working during ice/snow storm, after trying repeatedly moving wiper switch, was able to get working, but not reliably, would work but stop for no reason with wipers in the up position, moving wiper switch several move times would work at various speeds but not reliably.contacted dealer & made appointment to have wiper problem investigated & repaired.paid $71.76 for labor & parts to replace module(fp # 12463090).found out that recall had been in place for this problem ending in model year 1997.my model is 1998.

Dt: the contact owns a 1998 chevrolet 2500 series pickup. The windshield wiper motor quit working.he had to hit the motor to get it to work again.he has several gmc vehicles with recalls on the windshield wiper motor, and untila recallwas issued the dealership would not do anything about the problem. This was the third vehicle he has had with this problem.if the problem occurred and if hit a bump or something then they will come on . However,if they were working and vehicle hit a bump they will go off.

1998 chevy blazer 4wdwindshield motor. This car was only purchasetwo years ago and for year i almost kill my selfit either a electrical default or short .
