Horn pad is lifted up approximately 1/8 of an inch.
This consumer is not included in the recall for the horn (recall 96-i00-000), but is experencing problems with the horn.the retainer clip disconnects from the padding that holds the horn in plac.by the retainer clip disconnecting, the wire has disconnected and the horn doesn't work.
When making attempt to use horn, pad fell in lap. Please describe details.tt

Having problems getting key out of ignition .consumer contacted dealer and manufacturer.

In june of 1998 the cylinder head gasket of my 1993 chevrolet cavalier leaked coolant. I paid over $500.00to fix the problem. In the consumer reports issue from october of 1999, it indicates that this defect was covered on a hidden warranty. I went to the dealership, who was very helpful, then to gm. Gm told me that the hidden warranty (bulletin 98054) was only for 1995 chevrolet cavaliers. I was told by the dealership that the 1995 and 1993 vehicles have the same engine. If gm is going to pay to fix the 1995, then it should cover the same defect in the same engine of the 1993. I was told i would get no reimbursement from gm. I think i am entitled to the $500 that i paid the have it fixed by my personal mechanic.thank you.
Head gasket has leaked for many years.i explained to a mechanic that the gasket was leaking and before i could tell him where he knew exactly the location of the leak.he said that it seems to be common with my type of car.

I purchased this vehicle from a "tote the note" lot, and complained to them about the problems 2 days and only 11 miles. After i purchased this car, i brought the car into them and they said they acknowledged that there was a major vibration, and they would have it checked out.when i called in, they said that the problem was the back motor mounts.they supposedly fixed the front ones on the day of purchase.they told me that problem would be fixed at my expense,, after going in and asking for mydown payment back, they agreed to fix the vibration problem free but nothing else. Two days after i picked the fixed car up, the check engine light came on after 20 miles of driving.i feel that this car is unsafe to drive,due to the intense vibration, the abs, and speedometer problems. The vibration was only bad when in drive and had to be shifted to neutral when attempting to stop. But now the vibration is worse in all gears, with the exception of the abs light staying on, the other problems were not there when i test drove the vehicle.

The engine mounts have been replaced twice on 1/13/94 and 9/13/94, this was due to a verybad virbration when coming to a stop and driving (65) mph on the highway. The mounts needs replacing again.

Problems still continued.began to have problems with the car stalling and would not start .problems again diagnosed as being due to the lifters but now there was damaged to the engine with the oil flow.internal damage had occurred.would require replacing the engine.this was done in october, 1999 at a cost of $2,200.00.the car at this time had only 39,000 miles.car was basically used infrequently by someone in a rural town.regular or routine maintenance has always been done timely.

I thought this was a normal process, since i am not all that mechanically inclined.now my gear shifter button sticks and does not allow me to shift into drive.i am somewhat knowledgeable about the fact that the problem is being caused by a problem with the brake system.with only 33,000 miles on the car i should not be having a problem like this.i am handicapped and my car is alife saver for me.i have it serviced as often as recommended and keep up the appearance of it as well.in fact it still looks like new.i was looking at your recall data base and see that this problem is known and there was a recall in 1993 and wonder why i was never told or got notified.you can reach me almost anytime at home, my disability prevents me from working.please help me to get this resolved?thank you, cynthia graham.

Consumer has convertible vehicle which she purchased in 1994, she had the seatbelts repaired the first time in 1995, and replacement is needed a second time as of march 1997.
Vehicle hit on driver side door.the door flew open and because both the shoulder strap and the lap belt were attached to the door, the driver was propelled out into the street causing extensive damage to forehead, jaw and left hand.

My wife was injured as a result of this incident. It had just been repaired 5 days before this incident on 07/10/1998 we wrote 2 certified letters to the owner of dealership with no answer to either.

The contact owns a 1993 chevrolet cavalier. While driving approximately 30 mph, the pin that holds the steering wheel detached and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue.the failure mileage was unknown.

Engine compartment spontaneously caught fire while vehicle was parked, cause has not been determined. Dealer replaced throttle cable/power steering fluid hose/pressure hoses/wiring/cruise control, other.
Brakes pads/rotors have been replaced seven times. When applying the brakes the pedal is soft, and when going down hill there is alot of vibration. Dealer can't determine the cause of brake problem. Also,engine dies out, and tie rods bent out of position.

While in vehicle, the vehicle was not turned on, second party was spraying hose on vehicle to see where a leak was coming from inside of vehicle. 20 minutes later automatic door locks came on. Third party could not get out of car. Tried manually, then after banging on the door lock area, the door unlocked. Door lock buzzing was still on. Consumer had to get a wrench to disconnect the battery.at this time heavy smoke started coming out of dashboard, and a fire broke out. Called fire department.

While sitting at a traffic light / stop sign, the vehicle would vibrate. Dealer determine the motor mounts to be worn out which was the cause of failure.

While backing into driveway, driver heard a grinding noise coming from the left front wheel. Driver took wheel off vehicle and found the left front control arm was cracked. Mechanic stated that the arm wasbroken completely in half. The control arm has been replaced.

Consumer was traveling about 75 mph and the tire blew out, causing a dent in the front on the bumper and tire had tread on. Contacted the dealer, and they won't fix the consumer vehicle because their is a patch on the tire.

Dt*:the contact stated after rolling down the manual window, it would not roll back up.the contact took the vehicle to an independent repair shop.the mechanic found the problem to be the window regulator and no repairs were made.the manufacturer has not been alerted.

Windshield wipers/washer malfunctioned on intermittent basis when starting vehicle, but sometimes while driving.
