While driving on the highway, my car's electronics shut off. The speedometer, tachometer, turn signals, hud unit, and radio stopped working but the car was still running and could be driven normally (responded to gas, steering was fine etc). I could not put the rear passenger window up but all of the other windows opened and closed. The convertible top would not work. After parking and restarting a few times the problem went away but eventually came back and happens all the time. I have made an appointment with the dealership to check this out. The following warnings display on the display:service theft deterrent system service airbagservice parking assistantservice tire monitor systemopen, then close passenger window
Service air bag light came on only have 55000 miles on the vehicle. Rarely driven.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. While driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle crashed head on into another vehicle. The frontal air bags failed to deploy, but the side air bags deployed. The contact sustained neck and hand injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,400.
Trying to park at low speed there is a rubbing sound of plastic and light metal.there was fluid on top of the reservoir! dealer cleaned it twice and it comes back.they claim the rubbing and scraping metal behind the air bag is fine. They even called gm,general motors says its all fine!you can hear a wobble and whistle from under the hood while accelerating slightly and turning steering wheel.there is also a severe wobble from the pulleys and engine is vibrating like crazy!there is also a rattling metal sound when you start the cat that seems to be coming from the fuel tank!the dealer burlington chevrolet says that i just don't know how the camaro is. I bought two other geration fives. One from them! never in for nothing but maintenance. It was a great car!i also had a 2012 camaro rs 45th anniversary and traded it with 21,000 miles and except for a brake leak at the reservoir that took about 5 times to fix that car was awesome. Once they fixed it i drove over a year with nothing but maintenance. I only traded it due to severe unibody damage!
The car was making a turn in inclement weather when it lost traction. In every effort to slow the vehicle, my husband (whom was driving) downshifted to third gear, as the car was sliding into a ditch the clutch stuck to the floor (as it has done before on several occasions and has been mentioned to the local dealership), the brakes went out, the e-brake was pulled in an intense effort to slow the vehicle during the loss of control from impacting an electrical pole. When the first impact was made into the ditch, all 4 curtain airbags deployed.after the second full frontal impact into the electrical pole, the driver's side airbag deployed, however, the passenger side airbag did not even though it had an occupant.
Burlingto chevrolet in new jersey sold me and put inspection stickers on my 2014 camaro, which does not comply with federal regulations for air bag labels.the camaro does not have smart air bags,so warning labels are required notifying occupents of the dangers of air bags.please note i also have a nasty rubbing in my air bag which gm claims is fine.however in 2012 when this style air bag came out the sent letters to customers that if the air bags are making noises to bring them in for repair and inspection!i was told the noise is caused by too much pressure on the clock spring!they also have a tsb about the techs not being able to get the air bags off due to this condition!gm needs to recall these air bags as i have 2 other generation 5 camaros and one was a 2012 which has the same air bag and wheel as my 2014.my 2012 didnt make any noise or have steering issues!
My car does noy comply to federal regulations!my car was sold to me by burlington chevrolet without having the required air bag warning labels on the sunvisors!when takinh my car to another dealer for issues i am have i told them about it and they claim that 2014 camaros dont come with them, yet the early ones were recalled because the required warning labels were missing and or peeling!seems to be gms answer to everything anymore!not suppossed to be there, operating as designed, power steering fluid is suppossed to be outside the resovior!the sad thing is the attitude the dealers give you!they wouldnt have jobs if it wasnt for our tax dollars!
I started the vehicle to run for my medications and the service air bag light was on.i called on star and they scanned it and there was a code u0151.they said that there was no air bag signal and in a crash most likely the air bags wouldn't go off and on star wouldn't be notified!i also have been having steering problems with the rack and pump and the steering wheel is off center to the left!i took the car to lucas chevrolet and they said nothing was wrong with either.the wouldn't even call onstar to verify it happened and refused to do the open recall on my ignition keys.i took the car back and called onstar and the code was gone.onstar says they must of cleared andsent me on the way!chevrolet is playing with peoples lives!
I totaled out my car i flipped 8 times landed on all four of my tires. My airbags didn't deploy.. None of them

I have stock everything on my camaro. The radio, turn signals, and a/c glitch out all of the time. My radio will randomly glitch out sometimes with a loud noise coming from the speakers and sometimes quiet. I no longer have control of what station to listen to or the volume. Sometimes it happens every couple of minutes and other times every 10 seconds. If the rear defrost is on, the radio has no sound until i turn the rear defrost off. When i hit the brakes, turn on my high/low beams, or use my turn signal, the radio glitches. It also glitches without touching anything in the car what so ever. Also sometimes when i use my turn signals, it make my speaker sound like they are blown with a loud sound that does not stop until i shut the car off, remove the key, and open the door. Sometimes the sound keeps going even after that. The turn signal click sound doesn't add up to the light flashing anymore. Sometimes the air or heat will not turn on and the lights to that system flash repeatedly/quickly on and off every time the car glitches, door opens or closes, or car gets locked/unlocked. The ignition also tries to keep my key, and my car will not turn completely off until i can get my key from the ignition. I have been stuck trying to get my key out for a few minutes. This is after the ignition recall which did not help in any way possible. The clock has trouble keeping time because of how much it glitches out, and i have also noticed my head lights dim when it does. These problems are only getting worse! it started in december 2018 with just the turn signal making my speakers sound blown and over a matter of a couple of months it has gotten this bad. I'm worried to see what else happens. It needs to be recalled!
At times a/c won't turn on which has been an issue for about 2 years, and now radio malfunctions not allowing for a/c or radio functions. Signal lights makes strange sound when in use. Power goes out in that entire system making the entire system reset itself to manufacturer settings. This happens whether the auto is parked or while driving.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. The contact stated that there was a progressive failure and the key was getting stuck in the on position. The contact had to make several attempts to remove the key. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v346000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Car ignition keeps hanging up and will not release key upon shut off. Traveling between states, a burning smell began to come through the vents, the car shut off without warning traveling 70 mph on the highway, remaining lit and appearing fully functioning. It struck me as very familiar to the ignition issue i have had for the way the car shut off and began to act. Upon stop and actually switching off, car would try to crank, but did not catch. After towing to dealership, car cranked and drove as usual. Check engine light indicated low fuel pressure, after diagnostics for the third time the dealership is still insisting nothing is wrong with this car. Key ring has a total of 3 keys and lightweight, definitely not weighing down the ignition. This is definitely computer related, electrical and affecting the mechanical ability of the car as well as the safety of the driver. I see numerous complaints about this issue online, no recalls have been found and chevrolet is not correcting this despite numerous car fires reported and accidents probably caused.
Radio would shut off randomly, sometimes wouldn't even turn on.my ac does the same thing. Sometines it works, sometimes it doesn't.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. The contact stated that the home screen would constantly flicker while driving at various speeds. Radio system blinks out and causes vehicle to lose power. Vehicle is immobile at this point.
Hello im reaching out due to a safety concern with my 2014 camaro. The vin in located in the subject line above. I reached out to gm letting them know that i was having issues with my stereo. The speakers are also affected when the problem persists.. The car will turn on and i will be able to play anything through the stereo, like the radio, a cd, an aux cord and even sirius xm but randomly the stereo has a loud noise that screetches through the speakers which cause a great amount of discomfort. Then the stereo resets and is only able to be used via aux at a lower volume amd even way different sound quality. Its very strange and really inconvienent while driving, a few times it scared me so abruptly that i almost wrecked due to an anxiety attack. Its a well know issue with this model from years 2011-2015 if you google "camaro stereo problems" you will see a few different web forums comparing issies with this particular one being brought uo more than anything else. Gm informed me that the only way of getting to the bottom of the problem is to take it in to get a diagnostics done which is out of my price range at the moment due to covid. But anyways all that should be put to the side when it comes down to being a safety concern. Thanks in advance. I know alot of ppl would love to enjoy a normal drive without being startled by a loud guitar amp popping noise. I miss good drives while listening to music with good quality.

The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
Can not remove key from ignition when shutting off. Have to start vehicle multiple times and move gear selector multiple times before i get the key out. Car is in park. Unsafe to leave vehicle unlocked with key in ignition because it will not come out
The radio screen works fine, so does the bluetooth, volume knob, however, the car has lost complete sound capacity. No music, no chime start, no turn signal sound, no rear parking sensors warning sounds. Anything
Radio plays then makes a loud pop. Also blinks repeatedly. Using blinkers orbrakes at times will cause radio to pop loudly then go off completely. Radio will not come back on unless you stop and turn off ignition and restart. Radio may work for 30 seconds or 30 minutes. Sometimes when you useblinker the sound will come through the radio loudly and will not stop unless you turn the car off. I cannot turn radio off when any of this is happening. On various forums i have seen many complaints from many users of this same thing happening to their cameros. There are youtube videos showing supposed fixes so this problem has affected many. A radio should last. I've seen reports of replacing radio with factory parts and it happen i g again. I say this is electrical because radio acting up is affecting other parts of the car, blinkers, brakes etc. This all will happen if car is being driven or still. It happens every single time i use my car. This started around june 2018
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. The contact stated that after the vehicle was repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 14v346000 (electrical system), the key became stuck in the ignition. The vehicle was taken to rick hendrick city chevrolet (980-242-5621, located at 5101 e independence blvd, charlotte, nc 28212) where it was stated that the new key needed to be adjusted. The technician sprayed the key and the ignition with a lubricant, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and escalated the failure to a senior official. The contact was not called back. The failure was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 21,000.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v346000(electrical system). The contact was given two keys, one in which the switchblade was removed and the second was a regular keyless-entry fob. The contact stated that when using the keyless-entry fob in the ignition, there was hesitation when starting the vehicle. Additionally, the ignition would become resistant to turning from the on position. The failure was sporadic. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 8,119.
The audio sounds are not working including no blinker sounds. No radio sound. No radio working in and out and screeching sound while driving distracting driver , no seat belt sound warning , no key left in ignition sound warning , all safety issues and there are thousands and thousands of complaints about the same thing and you guys keep ignoring it. You need to do a recall ! someone is going to get killed if it hasn't already happened. ! especially the seat belt warning and radio scaring people going on and off. !
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. The contact stated that the turn signals failed to chime, the face plate functions shorted and displayed a blank screen, and the radio shut off numerous times. American chevrolet (4742 mchenry ave, modesto, ca 95356, (209) 575-1606) performed routine maintenance on the vehicle and chase chevrolet (6441 holman rd, stockton, ca 95212, (209) 475-6600) was notified of the failures. Chase chevrolet stated that this was a known issue for the 2011 to mid 2015 models due to replacing the same oem radio. Chase chevrolet diagnosed the vehicle and found two fault codes. The dealer updated the software and indicated that the radio and face plate needed to be replaced, and the system needed to be reprogrammed electronically. If the contact entered the vehicle to listen to the radio, it would shut off in less than fifteen minutes, including other electrical functions simultaneously. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures several times and the contact was waiting on a response. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
Several electrical components fail while driving down the road. The turn signals stop working, the radio shuts off, the heads up display turns off, the speedometer turns off and the tachometer stops working. The car still runs and responds to the gas and brake pedals and the steering continues to work. This is extremely dangerous and very confusing and scary while driving the car. The radio stops and then turns back on. After looking this up on line, this appears to be a wide spread issue that gm needs to address and recall the components causing the issue.

2014 chevrolet camaro. Consumer writes in regards to key problem recall notice and expresses discontent over vehicle tires. *tgwthe consumer stated who could not drive the vehicle, when the temperature, was below 35 degrees, because the came equipped with summer tires.
The stereo and the a/c and the console lights turn on and off randomly while driving.also, there is a loud popping sound coming from the speakers every time it cuts off.many others have complained about this problem on the web.
When i shift from drive or any other position at least 50% of the time when i shift to park i am not able to remove the key from the stearing wheel column lock. Most of the time if i turn the key to on take the shiffer out of park an put it back in park it may allow me to remove the key. There have not been able to get the key out. So far when i have not been able to get the key out it has been at home. My big concern is that i may not be able to get the key out when i am away from the house. Very easy to steal a car with a key in the lock. The car is stationary when this happens.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. The contact stated that the warning indicators and gauges were not functioning properly on the instrument panel. Sir walter chevrolet (8501 glenwood ave, raleigh, nc 27612, (919) 787-3700) was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 68,000.
Takata recall- several issues cant get key out of ignition when put in park, radioscreen locks up and goes blank while driving or stationary, heater got extremely hot and frozeso it could not be turned off while traveling on hi way with no where to pull off. Took to dealership several times but always seemed to work for them. Asked for them to document since i was getting close to warranty expiring. Also hear a clunk each time i use brake.backfired and loss power whentrying to pass a car on freeway. Passenger seat two way motorhad short or defect would cause seat to get stuck in high position at various times and has completely stopped working with seat touching roof, not sure if smaller person would be safe if airbags go off in this position. Also key came out while someone else was using car.since all these things happen fairly soon after purchase i thought maybe i didn't know how to properly use the cars options or controls. When taking to dealership it would be fine and they always said it has to do it for us to or they cant fix it. That's why i asked for them to document. My car is now at 36,600 and doing some of the things again.when calling dealer they only had some of my complaints documented.
When i purchased it 3 years ago, the driver side white tail light would work, then it wouldn't. Bulb & fuse are fine. Now it doesn't work at all.radio turns off & on with a pop sound through the speakers while driving at random times.
My car don't want to pull when taking off . Gear shift not changing . The radio goes on and off making horrible noise like the car fina blow up. There are noises coming from my trunk or back tires sounds like my car tearing up
For over a year the radio in the chevy camaro has been malfunctioning (shutting on and off excessively), this electrical issue affects my vision when driving at night it has currently escalated to preventing turn signal audio therefore i continuously have to check to see if turn signals are working and will not know if they stop working. This is not a stand alone problem with just my camaro and i have reviewed many owners of camaros have the same issue. This issue occurs when in motion. Air conditioning and heater is effected at times also.
On cold morning start, the climate control, radio, radio lights, blinker ticking audio, driver information display, steering wheel hands free phone control (speedometer, tps readings, trip info, etc..) does not power on. Driver cannot defrost the window. Then... After car is driven 10-15 miles they power on. (car warms up some) internet search reveals many others with similar problem. Some say clip a white wire behind radio, real fix is replace bcm.and dealer only program, the vehicle specific bcm (body control module) it may sound easy to just say... Dont drive the car, but if you have no other means.... Who is going to do that? i am a ase certified tech, though expired 2002. Not wrenching anymore buti know a little bit. . i'm not looking for free fix! this could be a real problem [xxx]see---> https://www.youtube.com/results?https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=323832search_query=+camaro+radio+shutting+off+and+on+https://www.scannerdanner.com/forum/post-your-repair-questions-here/1055-2013-chevrolet-camaro-v6-radio-hvac-control-unit.htmlinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Recall notice 14v346 received for ignition key replacement from gm in august 2014 and dealer notice of past due service recall for this same safety issue also received november 2014. When i called today to get my 2014 camaro safety repaired the service provider at the dealer where i purchased the vehicle said the parts are on back order and would not make an appointment for the safety repair?! she advised me to call back in 10 days. Gm must really be concerned about my safety to not have safety recall parts available for repairs. Also, i previously purchased an additional ignition key with transmitter from the dealer for this vehicle. Why will gm not also replace this transmitter/ignition key under this safety recall?
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. Prior to purchasing the vehicle, the contact stated that the ignition switch key fob was replaced. While driving at any speeds, the contact's knee touched the key and the engine light illuminated. The vehicle went from running to the accessory mode and then the steering wheel seized.the contact had to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road and place the gear in the park position to restart the vehicle. The failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 800.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. After starting the vehicle and turning on the stereo, an audible, popping noise and burning odor were present inside the vehicle. The cause of the failures was not determined. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 19,000.
The my link system temperature readings were reading 133 degrees when the temp was really 64!i took it in and the dealer showed me a tsb saying that when you drive behind a car the system reads temps from the exhaust in the car in front of you!their solution is not to drive behind anyone!great job gm!the dual mode exhaust which is a $895 dollars option went after 248 miles. Sound so bad like an old catalytic converters guts went inside!parts has been on order for 2 weeks and its on national backorder! also still waiting for a steering rack!my right shoulder was severely injured when i could park in a spot and the steering wheels pressure took a mind of its own!severe pain!
When in park the key gets stuck in the ignition.
The radio makes very loud popping noise and all power cuts out to the display, turn signals, heating/cooling functions. This happens repeatedly every time driving the vehicle. The triggers are using the power windows, using turn signal, adjusting heat/ac, or putting the vehicle into reverse.not only is it inconvenient to not have radio or heat/ac. It is also a safety hazard to not have turn signals and have very loud and distracting popping noises while driving.i have heard from other camaro owners and every one of this model has the same issue around 40,000 miles.
The contact owns 2014 chevrolet camaro. The contact received a notification for recall nhtsa campaign number: 14v346000 (electrical system). However, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer has been made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
My chevy camaro has a safety recall on the key fob ignition system. The key was found faulty and would turn off while driving. Chevy's solution was to remove the switchblade key fob and give me an ordinary key. The problem is that the paddle shifter on the steering wheel still comes in contact with the key while turning, therefore turning off the ignition. While turning off the key, it also breaks the key in half. This has happened to be 3 times now while driving. 2 of the times almost resulting in collision. I am honestly scared to drive my car.
The radio will pop and all power goes out to the radio the heater and air conditioner. Will come back on after 5-10 seconds the pops again and it repeats. Even if the radio is off and not moving. I have a video of this.
Cr turn-off while driving.unable to restart and lost use of power steering and brakes.although a recall has been reported. To date, there has not been any letter from manufacturer, and the dealer will not take the car because it has not been provided a corrective action.
While traveling, the radio suddenly made a loud pop noise and the information panel went out...information panel began flickering on and off, also affecting the ac/heat controls and when using the blinker, it wouldn't make a signal sound. The lack of blinker sound leads me to wonder if the blinkers even work when this happens. This problem randomly happens and when it does, it's very distracting and the loud pop noise is extremely upsetting. I have found on numerous forums that this seems to be a major issue with the chevy camaro and gm doesn't seem concerned. I believe this is a major safety issue that needs to be addressed. It first happened to my car on dec. 5, 2019 and has continued to randomly happen since.
While driving, the tapshift lever was caught in the key ring attached to the key in the ignition. This caused the car to shift out of gear, as if being put into neutral, so that the car slowed very suddenly and dangerously. This happened only when making sharp right turns, as when turning at an intersection. This occurred several times throughout the day, until we realized that the tapshift lever was only able to get caught on the keyring when the steering wheel was fully lowered. Adjusting the steering wheel height resolved the issue.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. The contact stated that due to a malfunction of the audio system, the safety chimes were not audible in the vehicle. On occasion, the display screen would flash off and on and a high pitch noise would be heard inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the display screen was faulty and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 20,000.
The key gets stuck in the ignition and cannot be removed until i've tried enough times that it might actually work.this happens every time i drive the car.i've seen numerous complaints stating the same exact thing and i am wondering why this hasn't been elevated to recall status.
While operating the stereo it makes a popping sound and turns off and back on. When it comes back on there is no sound coming through the speakers but the head unit is still on. Turning the car off and on restores the sound but it just goes back out. I see this is a very common problem and all the dealerships say if to replace the entire head unit.
Center console lights turn on and off. Loud popping sound from speakers. Radio constantly turning off and then coming back on, really loudly. Happens when driving and sitting still. Constant flipping on and off of radio.
Radio shuts off randomly during driving city streets and at highway speeds. Blowers will sometimes shut off when the radio turns off. Dash lights also flicker 5-10 times when radio shuts off and after turning the car off. When pulling the key from the ignition, speakers pop loudly. Extremely distracting and dangerous. No issue with battery or alternator. Gm says they don't know about the issue, however there are multiple videos on youtube and forums online of this issue. Apparently there's a possible solution by cutting the 18th wire, furthest white wire to the left behind the stereo face plate. This problem needs to be recalled.
Problemsseem to be with 2013 and 2014 camaros. The radio system shorts after 20000 miles. Multiple consumers complain about this system as it is a 2000 dollar or more repair with the dealerships
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. The contact stated that the vehicle was unoccupied and the front center console and wiring became completely burnt. In addition, the entire vehicle was engulfed with black smoke. There were no flames present. The fire department extinguished the interior of the vehicle. On a separate occasion, the vehicle stalled without warning but was able to be restarted. The vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v346000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 36,800.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. While the vehicle was engaged in park, the key could not be removed from the ignition. The contact mentioned that the key had to be turned to the start position and back to the off position before it eventually came out. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.
My car was part of the ignition switch recall in 2014.for the past week, whenever i park the car i can not get the key out of the ignition.the dealership explained that the problem is being caused by the shifter not communicating to the car that it's in "park" so it won't release the key.they also told me that since my car has 55,000 miles, the repair will not be covered under warranty because it's electrical and considered part of the "trim".they informed me that the repair would be in excess of $600.00.i am extremely unhappy because i can't afford this repair and this is my only mode of transportation.the car is pretty much un-drivable at this point unless i want to get stuck somewhere.
Key recall- since the key recall has been done about 3 weeks ago the last week we have been having issues with the car just dying in the middle of the road. It loses all power and shuts itself off. I have contacted onstar and had them do a diagnosis and they couldn't find anything. This is a huge safety issue. It almost completely died in rush hour traffic on the freeway. Thank goodness that i was not on a busy street when it did die completely. I lost all power steering, and all it would do is coast. I did have the key recall done on my car and apparently it is more than just the key that is the issue. This makes me scared to drive my vehicle on a freeway. I don't know when it will die and hopefully not cause a huge accident.
When i turn the vehicle off, the key will not rotate to the lock position, and car only has 24,000 miles on it. After moving the gear selector many times from drive to park the key finally rotates to the locked position to allow removal of the key. During this summer the issue has been getting worse and worse, to the point i am afraid to drive the vehicle anywhere. I have also noticed when you enter the vehicle and just rotate the key to run position, it will lock up as well, not allowing the key to rotate back into the lock position. Then have to cycle the shifter for the tranny from park to drive multiple times to get it to rotate in to the lock positino for i can remove the key..
This car shut-off on me on two separate occasions when i backed out and when i made a right turn onto a busy street.
Ignition will not shut off, key continually gets stuck in ignition. Have to restart the vehicle and turn off multiple times to get the key out. The dash control showing temperature controls levels, times, outside temp, etc goes in and out (short?) heat stays on and cannot adjust due to being out. Come out to the garage in the morning after being off all night and not working to the screen being lit up blue showing display items as it should while on and working, mind you the car if off turn car on the and the display shuts off again.
I was turning onto the highway that the speed limit is 65 mph from a side road.i waited for oncoming traffic to pass and then pulled out. As i pulled out, turning right, my car had a sudden loss of power.i tried to restart and it would not restart.i had difficulty pulling over to the side of the road due to the steering wheel being stiff and hard to handle. After i got to the side of the road, i was able to restart my car. I did not bump the ignition switch when this happened either.
Center console lights started turning off and on around christmas time 2018, accompanied by a loud popping sound from speakers. Then the radio started turning off and on constantly accompanied by the same loud popping sound.blinkers sometimes trigger radio problem and they do not always work properly. Radio console finally blew out permanently in jan 2019, unable to listen to music, and afraid to drive the car.contacted both gm and chevy dealership in pawley's island; told me no recalls, would have to bring in for analysis; however indicated that it would cost around $1,000.how would they know the cost unless they know the problem?i also have video evidence.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the computer system went out and came back on after a couple of minutes. There was no warning. The failure recurred several times. The contact called several dealers, including the chevrolet of bend dealer, located at 345 ne 3rd st, bend, or 97701, and was informed that the failure was due to ahardware failure that was not worth spending money to repair, due to the age of the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The contact was provided a case number. The vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was approximately 48,000.
Electrical shortage causing radio malfunctions and heat/air malfunctions. At times my radio clockand date is off. These events happen when the vehicle is in motion or is stationed. The electrical shortage started two years after we purchased the brand new vehicle.
The car is less than 5 years old and has less than 25k mi on it, this is a well documented problem, such as nhtsa complaints, youtube videos and forums in which people have the same exact complaint, among multiple years and models of chevrolet camaro's. The radio needs to be replaced, the issue affects multiple things including safety. However at this point with all the complaints gm has not performed a recall and is stating that they will not cover this under a known manufacturer design flaw. The safety concerns are that the radio will flicker on and off, come on and off disabling the ability to control it, while making very loud crackling and popping sounds at excessive volume, flashes on and off making night driving a hazard. While this issue happens it also disables the navigation, the onstar, the heat/ac fan controls as well as volume controls. There are hundreds and hundreds, if not thousands of folks with this problem. And as such, i have also recorded the issue while it was happening and read a myriad of reviews, complaints and watched videos. I believe that gm and chevrolet need to be held accountable. My car is extremely well maintained and has very low mileage for its age. When the company knows about this problem and hears from consumers and yet does nothing about it, is ludicrous. I believe they should be performing a recall as this is a design flaw in which can cost up to at least 1000k to get repaired.
Turn signal stop working, along with radio shutting off and on erratically , loud popping noises over speaker when using turn signals , radio cones on and off when applying brakes
Radio/ac controls intermittently turn on and off. This occurs when vehicle is both stationary and moving. Noticed first occurrence on 12/22/2018, as i just recently purchased this vehicle. Has continued with this issue since first occurrence.
Key gets locked in the ignition after car is put into park and even after car has been turned off. For a while the stereo will turn off and on. Lights stay flickering from time to time.
When driving on a side road the vehicle was going about 35-38 mph straight when a vehicle failed to yield from stop sign on right hand side road. He made a left turn in front of me going fast due to a vehicle blocking his sight of view. I preceded to slam on brakes to avoid a t-bone collision. The car came to a stop my knee hit the ignition switch and the vehicle cut off in the middle of the street lights and all. I then had to put the vehicle in park in order to get it started again.
When accelerating the vehicle shut off 3 times in the same day when switching from 1st to 2nd gear. I was forced to cycle the ignition , put the car in park , and res-start the car in the middle of the highway. I was scared out of my mind because i though the keyfob recall was to prevent this from happening. This wasnt the case and my 2014 chevrolet camaro automatic 6cy shut off 3 different times in the same day when accelerating.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. The contact stated that the vehicle received a recall repair for the switch blade key. The contact stated that the recall repair was done to one key, but not the second key. The contact stated that the repaired key malfunctioned. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was unknown.
Key gets stuck in ignition.engine turns off, but key won't come out of ignition.happens often. I've taken it to the dealership and they can't get it to replicate.i've notice it seems to happen more often when on a slight incline, but also occurs on a flat surface, like in my garage. Remedy i've been told by dealer is the take the car back out of park and slam it back into park. It does work, sometimes after a three tries.just seems like i shouldn't have to abuse the shifter to release the key.
1st problem, the left speaker started a loud screeching noise while the radio was stillplaying. I had to stop the car and turn off the engine to stop the noise.2nd problem, when i hit a bump in the road, the radio shutsoff. I can'tget local stations. Only sirrusstation.now when i turn the steeringwheel too hard the radio shuts off then comes back on.now while drivingon the high ways, the dash board lightsturns off by them selves momentarily then turns backon.alsobecause ofthese problems, i turn the radio off... And while driving the radio turnson by itself.driver-side back -up lightwas replacedvisibility /wiper needs replacing wiper fluidsquirt dosen't workeffectively .. Maybenozzle is clogged d
The radio is making a loud popping noise and black out the air goes out with it it sounds like something hit the car and the key gets stuck in the ignition. The lights flicker on the climate control panel.
This problem i am having since i bought the car, during winters the heater wont turn on, the only way to start it is put the blower on windscreen and turn up the blower to max than it will start. I complained it to dealership and they said they didnt find anything, i made a video just for record too. Also it makes tick tick sound specially in morning when you press brakes.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. After parking the vehicle, the contact was unable to remove the key from the ignition. The contact left a voicemail message with dyer chevrolet vero beach (located at 1000 us-1, vero beach, fl 32960, (772) 617-4793). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000.
Messages stating service power steering drive with care and service stabilitrak keep coming on constantly while driving. Car seems to drive fine but who to say it's not going to fail while driving
Takata recall . Vehicle was in motion, ona city street when i realized the engine started to knock hard and i began to lose power in my vehicle. According to the dealership my 6 cylinder had a misfire being that metal had broken off into my engine and was present in my oil.
While driving on the expressway the engine started to misfire, and the accelerator would not work.then the lights of the stability, engine, and other controls came on.this is after already having the issue with the fob and the car turning off and not able to steer or brake.

When i first bought the car my mom and dad took it around the block and said that it turned off but failed to mention it because of cars having features that turn car off while at a halt. I've had the car for about 6 months and it is hardly driven. 3 days of the week, and is barely at 5000 miles. Still technically brand new. One day while coming home from work my boyfriend and i noticed the car to be struggling a little power wise. When we came to a stop at a light we made a right turn and the car felt like it was going to stall. Barely turning into our apartment it finally turned off. Took a couple of tries but car finally turned on for about 10 seconds and then turned off again. Finally being able to park the car, we tried starting it after letting it sit for couple minutes and it did not want to start. We drove car to nearby dealer left it overnight and the next day they said about 11 codes were coming up. After that car finally turned on acted normal for a bit so we were given car back. Afterwards check engine light came on and stayed on. Due to not being able to be off work we were going to take car to original dealer we bought it from to get checked out. Halfway into the week the car then stalled again luckily as we turned into work. Messages came up such as "service stability and traction control" as long as "engine power reduced". We were able to park it and had onstar run a diagnostics for it and were told that several codes popped with tranny, stability and traction control, abs breaks, engine power etc were all affected at the time. We took it to dealer couple hours later and car was checked out and "fixed" couple days later. Turned out to be a short in one of the wires. To think a simple wire defect can affect the car to that extent is scary! and i'm thankful the faultiness didn't occur in injury or death.
This is the second time traction contriol error popped up, first time the car had to be towed as it lost all power while driving, this time the error came but luckily didnt lose any power. The car has no stability and knocks.
Vehicle was having a radio shut off issue, where all fm/am stations were not available, however, satellite radio was available.the radio would emit a "pop" sound and then shut off (occurs daily).dealership could not replicate the issue.now as recent as apr 30, 2017 (occurring intermittently), when radio turns off, entire vehicle turns off.no warning lights on dash, no warning whatsoever.vehicle has turned off while in motion on highway.steering becomes unavailable making use of this vehicle incredibly dangerous.took to dealership, and they are unable to replicate the issue to begin repair.

My 2014 camaro transmission is leaking trans fuild about 3 quarts every 30 days i took it to a1 transmission here in sacramento ca. They said that you can no longer purchase new or rebuilt transmission for this vehecal but they could not identified why my transmission keep leaking trans fuild please help what can be the problem thank you
This vehicle was purchased brand new january 2014 with less than 10 miles on it.upon taking the vehicle in three or more times for a fuel system issue, i experienced a rapidly flashing engine light two times.i called the service department. They said do not drive the vehicle anywhere other than to the dealership because the engine may blow. I took the car to the dealership on 5/29.the dealership "replaced" all parts on the vehicle including the fuel line, fuel injectors, pistons, all fuel injectors and this did not help. They then attempted to even out the compression in the cylinders to fix the issue of the compression leaking. This did not work. The vehicle was still having compression issues.they finally requested a replacement engine from gm.the engine was installed and i was called to pick up my vehicle after 29 days at the dealership.i requested a buy back, as from what they have told me regarding the car having a defect and this is a huge safety concern for me. The dealer and gm west coast liaison denied buy back due to the warranty still being in effect.this car is not safe and should be bought back by the dealer. We are pursuing with the bbb and a lawyer.the dealership has not cooperated and will not assist any further. The main concern is lack of knowledge as to what was wrong with the vehicle and that being it had 5000-6000 miles, how do we know it will be safe and will not have issues in the future.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. While driving at approximately 20 mph and attempting to engage the brakes, the engine, power steering, and brakes seized. As a result, the contact's vehicle crashed into the rear of another vehicle. A police report was filed. It was unknown if any injuries were sustained. The vehicle was towed and not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
As i was turning the corner on to woodward avenue my car just shut down. The car went totally black and shut down in the middle of the turn on this very busy-main thoroughfare.
Heater core failed allowing hot ethyl glycol to spill into passenger compartment floor/foot area.
I was pulling into a parking space making a sudden sharp left turn when the steering wheel locked up completely, brakes could no longer be depressed any further and the engine shut off completely. Once vehicle came to full stop, the ignition would not release my key or let me start the car after shifting it back into park. I tried shifting out and back into park, opening the driver door and closing it with no fix. After 3 minutes, the car finally let me start the engine and released the wheel, brakes and key. Onstar's diagnostic test at time of incident showed no problems. Went to dealership that evening and chevy's technician said there are no codes that pull up. The technician and i both reenacted the situation with their diagnostic laptop and could not get the car to do it again and i was sent off with "no known issues found".
When accelerating the vehicle shut off 3 times in the same day when switching from 1st to 2nd gear. Within two weeks after purchasing my car it stalled twice--both when stopped at red lights.i took car to dealership and they did a road test but could not replicate.on 4/9/2014 i was making a right hand turn and the car stalled in the middle of the intersection.i restarted the car, drove to my office and the car stalled when turning into the parking garage and again when turning into the parking space.took to the dealership the following day and they kept for an extended test drive but could not replicate the problem. Since there were not any codes the car was returned to me.
Driving on cruise control.knee bumped key, engine turned off at 60 mph.power steering and brakes still worked, but engine was off.
I was driving in the city and my 2014 chevy camaro 2lt rs stopped working. It just completely shut off while driving and the steering locked up. This is a big safety hazard as it could've happened on the highway. In order for the car to drive again, thecar had to be put in park, turned off, and restarted. This happened multiple times in the past week and it keeps happening over and over. A recall is mandatory for this life endangering hazard.
My2014 chevy camaro has the same problem as many do, on the camaro forum. A bad heater core that fogs the entire windshield with a smell of antifreeze from the carpet, vents and windshield. As you drive & turn on heat or defrost, you put yourself in danger of being able to even see.without any warning. Very unsafe.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle stalled and lost steering and braking ability. In addition, the chevrolet icon illuminated on the dashboard. The contact stated that the icon usually only illuminated when the vehicle was started. The failure recurred six times in one day. Every time the chevrolet icon illuminated, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to carmax (21636 katy freeway, katy, texas 77449), but the failure could not be replicated. The vehicle was not repaired. A chevrolet dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 42,000.
I own a 2014 camaro. On may 2nd, we were driving off of an exit from the interstate 270 when all of a sudden, i lost total control of my vehicle. Everything shut down. I could barely star the car. I had no power at all. When this happened, it also sounded like my engine locked up. We were literally about to freak worrying we were going to get rear ended. Luckily, we were able to coast into an apartment complex. I could not restart the car and waited about 5 minutes until it would restart. I then took the car into a dealership here telling them it is a death trap. I informed them that i have given them notice of the dangers driving this car and if something happened to us, i would hold them liable since they had been warned. Honestly, i am worried now about driving that death trap.

I was driving on i-95 at at approximately 70 mph.i slowed to get off the exit and as i did the engine died and the power steering and brakes were inoperative.luckily i didn't hit anyone. The engine failed again later in the same evening and twice 2 days later on i-95 at 70 mph
While sitting at a stop light for a busy intersection, the check engine light and message appeared with the statements engine power reduced and service stabilitrak.i was able to pull off into a parking lot and shut the car down for a restart.upon restart, the messages continued.i researched my owner's manual in which it said given these messages, the car was safe to drive but needed to be checked out.i attempted to proceed to my destination, however the transmission would not shift into second gear, and the vehicle would top out at approximately 30 mph.while i was in a 55 mph zone, i decided to again pull off the road and contact onstar.my vehicle was towed to the dealer.the following afternoon, the dealership contacted me saying the problem was a bad high-pressure fuel pump.the dealer had a spare fuel pump in-stock, however the fuel line is non-serviceable, and i was told they were on a back-order of 3-5 days.seven days later the dealer called to let me know that gm was re-engineering that fuel line and it could be upwards of a month before the car would be repaired.after a total of 17 days, the car was repaired and everything seems to be back in order.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. While operating the vehicle, the turn signals would erroneously activate and randomly blink on and off. The contact indicated that the radio would also blink off and on and a loud popping noise would occur. The vehicle was taken to tom bell chevrolet (800 alabama st, redlands, ca) where it was diagnosed that the radio unit was faulty and needed to be to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 68,000.

My car don't want to pull when taking off . Gear shift not changing . The radio goes on and off making horrible noise like the car fina blow up. There are noises coming from my trunk or back tires sounds like my car tearing up
When i purchased it 3 years ago, the driver side white tail light would work, then it wouldn't. Bulb & fuse are fine. Now it doesn't work at all.radio turns off & on with a pop sound through the speakers while driving at random times.
Air conditioner stopped working, radio and screen stopped working, lights on dash stopped working, would not allow me to add fuel. The car was on empty and as i tried to pump gas, the gas would come back out.2nd incident on august 22, 2014 - air conditioner would not work, lights on dash would not work3rd incident on august 24, 2014 - air conditioner, radio and screen and all power controls inside the control would not work.4th incident - august 26th - air conditioner stopped workingmileage as of now on car 2,600 miles.
The stereo and the a/c and the console lights turn on and off randomly while driving.also, there is a loud popping sound coming from the speakers every time it cuts off.many others have complained about this problem on the web.
My convertible top on my 2014 chevy camaro leaked water in the rear passenger side. Gm said the passenger side door panel splash guard glue came off and the passenger side grommet was installed incorrectly. The service assistant said this "happens all the time with the camaro convertibles". I would like the nhtsa to consider a recall for these issues and would like to request the number of reported similar problems that the nhtsa has received with regards to the same body style of chevy camaro convertibles.also gm refused to inspect for mold and never cleaned or replaced the carpet following the nonconforming condition. I believe this present a substantial danger to my family's safety and anyone else who rides in the vehicle. I live in alabama where mold grows profusely, which only serves to amplify the danger.
Key gets locked in the ignition after car is put into park and even after car has been turned off. For a while the stereo will turn off and on. Lights stay flickering from time to time.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. The contact stated that the stereo made a loud abnormal popping noise. All the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel when the noise occurred and on hands free phone operation begins a frantic look to find phone to finish call, addition, which made it difficult to drive. The vehicle was taken to blue diamond chevrolet buick gmc (1355 s carbon ave, price, ut 84501, (888) 588-3590) where the mechanic stated that there was no recall for the failures; therefore, the contact would be responsible for the repair costs. The dealer could not determine the cause of the failures. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and did not assist. The failure mileage was 60,000. The vin was unknown..
The contact stated when the fuel tank was full, there was an abnormal sound of fluid moving within the fuel tank area. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the fuel tank was replaced. However, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.

When the vehicle was parked, the emergency brake failed to engage and the vehicle independently rolled into the garage door. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 22,000.
My 2014 camaro transmission is leaking trans fuild about 3 quarts every 30 days i took it to a1 transmission here in sacramento ca. They said that you can no longer purchase new or rebuilt transmission for this vehecal but they could not identified why my transmission keep leaking trans fuild please help what can be the problem thank you
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle decelerated and stalled. The vehicle was restarted. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken to simpson chevrolet of garden grove (10150 trask ave, garden grove, ca 92843, 714-656-2802), but the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The failure was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
When driving at 60 mph car stalled down like was going to shut down shook the whole car. Same thing 2nd and 3rd time car is in shop for third time now still with no answer. I feel unsafe due it not being able to diagnose.car also shut completely off on husband when making a left turn list complete power had to restart car. If this would have happen on the interstate this could have been deadly.
In june 2018 air conditioning briefly went out. Opened fuse box. Rust was surrounding area. Moved fuse and air started working again. Car has 27,300 miles currently. On july 29th 2018 i was driving 60-65 on freeway in medium traffic and gas pedal left my foot and went to the floor. Stuck. I am beating it with my foot trying to get it to release. I went up to speeds of 120+. 3-3/12 miles it released before i had to do evasive measures. I have been driving camaros trans ams and corvettes since 1975. Never had this happen. Upon inspection the under the drivers dash is full of rust. Not surface rust. Old heavy rust. I have a 97 camaro in the driveway that has none of what this 2014 has. Did or does that throttle system have water damaged wiring? i have had radio replaced and drivers side seat motor replaced. Is this a flood vehicle? it's not on the history but does that mean anything anymore? i've been told by four mechanics it's undrivable, unsafe. What did happen to this car?
While driving on the expressway the engine started to misfire, and the accelerator would not work.then the lights of the stability, engine, and other controls came on.this is after already having the issue with the fob and the car turning off and not able to steer or brake.
Driving regular speed and notice lost of power from rpm. I turn a few time then lost more power, after this happen my car shut down. Chevy dealer and gm i file a complaint but lost my case because they say it was my problem. I drive a stickshift for 10+ years never had any problem and never had any tickets to damage my car. Before having thecar, the clutch-pad was shift and also push down and stay down if i go backwards or in 3-5gears.
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. The contact stated that the key failed to eject from the ignition after the vehicle was turned off. The dealer stated that the shifter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage and vin were unknown.
Shifter wouldn't go into park there for i couldn't remove the key from ignition. Could roll off.

Takata recall . Vehicle was in motion, ona city street when i realized the engine started to knock hard and i began to lose power in my vehicle. According to the dealership my 6 cylinder had a misfire being that metal had broken off into my engine and was present in my oil.
The contact stated that the rear pasenger side seat belt buckle became inoperable. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact also stated that the brakes began to squeak. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 9,100.
Vehicle will not hold after the shift lever was placed into park position on incline.car was placed in park and rolled back, driverdoor hit driver and drug driver about 20 feet on pavement.passenger in car verified car was in park.passenger was hit in back.car continued to roll down field, across road into another field before stopping.witnesses who went to car verified car was in park.car was towed to empire chevrolet in wilkesboro, nc.service managernelson greer told me nothing is wrong with car.found gm service bulletin p11360a & d outlining this compliant and measures to fix.nelson greer refuses to repair.car is under warranty.
Noticed my master cylinder leaking a very concerning amount of fluid , i happen to opened my hood to do a regular monthly inspection and noticed the leak , if i didn't notice i could have had brake failure due to lack of fluid!!! there should be a recall.

Cr turn-off while driving.unable to restart and lost use of power steering and brakes.although a recall has been reported. To date, there has not been any letter from manufacturer, and the dealer will not take the car because it has not been provided a corrective action.
The steering wheel has manual drive shift levers on both sides. When making a right turn sometimes the lever gets caught on keys causing the steering wheel to make a hard right turn resulting in momentary loss of steering control. I have almost driven into ditches or other objects due to this defect.also, the shifter is not engaging properly causing the key to be get stuck in the ignition when the engine is off. In order to get the key to release i have to restart the engine, reverse and put the shifter back in the park position. Then i must engage the floor brake and release it until a clicking noise is heard inside the shifter. The key will then release. This problem has already been reported in other models of gm vehicles and part of a recall however my model has not been recalled. The dealer and manufacturer are not taking responsibility.
The key will get stuck in the ignition daily and i have to restart engine and shift into reverse and then shift back into park for the key to be removed. This process has to be completed several times before the key can be removed from the ignition.and one more issue my steering wheel makes a weird whiny noise as i turn it. It sounds like whale songs.took it to dealer ship but they didn't fixed my issue.
Key constantly gets locked up in ignitionafter i put in park.i turn it on and off to key key out.last time i started about three times turned key off tried taking out.called repair shop said push shift all way in park. Finallycame out.lots of complaints regarding this but didn't see recall

Key gets stuck in ignition , it's been happening off and on for over a year

The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. While driving approximately 30 mph, the steering wheel shook violently. In addition, the front driver side wheel detached from the vehicle. There were no warning indicators. The vehicle had to be towed to a independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the front driver side alloy wheel, rubber valve, driver side c-liner, and hub and bearing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 28,313.
The wheel locks randomly not allowing me to remove my key from the ignition. It happens all the time- sometimes i wait like 5 minutes until it releases on its on but others i wait over 30 minutes and it won't release my key. I can't sit in my car in the middle of the night waiting for my car to release the key.
Signal lights, safety hazard lights and the radio stopped working.
Had to replace steering gear (rack and pinion). Car began leaking and all the fluid came out so could not steer. Car has low mileage, 24123.
Gm defective switch. Had a key recall, took car in for repair at herrin gear, jackson ms, high street. Could not take key out of ignition, would not show car was in parking pisition. Steering was locking up. Car would not move. Took car to herring gear kept for 1 month, repair guy said it never happen with him. Second time to car repair, happen when i got out of car. Service person said it was a censor. Happening now.

When parking the car and shifting to park, the ignition release solenoid is not being energized. Preventing me from switching the ignition completely off and being able to remove the key.i tried slamming the gear selector in park to active the switch but to no avail.took the vehicle to ted britt chevrolet in sterling, va and they could not replicate the problem.
The steering rack makes a pulsing noise around corners and the steering cuts in an out of power assist mode. This has happened since the vehicle was nearly new with 752 miles on it when i purchased it. There was a recall for several units, but this car was not included. I believe the recall extends to this car and probably several others as many people on the forums complain of the same issue. The car does it constantly around corners, and i would be happy to let and nhtsa investigator drive the car. This car is also making the clunk from the rear under nhtsa#10114259. I believe the vehicle should be recalled for the steering and i also believe nhtsa#10114259 should be a recall and not a tsb.
The ignition key will get stuck after putting the car in park and can take up to five minutes of cycling the key on/off. The car has 33,000 miles. The dealer suspects there is a defect in the transmission neutral safety switch which prohibits the release of the key until it's in park.
Takata recall- several issues cant get key out of ignition when put in park, radioscreen locks up and goes blank while driving or stationary, heater got extremely hot and frozeso it could not be turned off while traveling on hi way with no where to pull off.
Our 2014 chevy camaro ss power steering would lock up on us when we were driving and would jerk and we wouldn't be able to steer the car and it was very scary especially when you were going the speed limit on the interstate going 65-70 mph. My husband was coming home from court on 9/8/20 and it was also our 10 year anniversary and it locked up on him and the next thing he knew he was hit by a lady and he was on the side of the road and our car was totaled and he dont even have any recolition of what happened the impact of the lady hitting him knocked him out and he is lucky to be alive he suffered a broke arm and had to have surgery to have a plate and screws put in to repair it and we dont have a vehicle now. We had just purchased the car the end of may 2020. We seen a recall on the steering locking up and the chevy dealer said they couldn't replace it because the vin number wasn't on recall. How can a vehicle that is doing the same exact thing as the same exact vehicle with a different letter in the vin not be on recall for the same exact defect?my husband is lucky to be alive and now we are left with no vehicle. Can someone please tell me how this is possible id like to have my vehicle replaced due to this recall that was defective in my vehicle.we have a friend who had the same issue and they told him the same thing about his vin so he traded his camaro in for a different vehicle.i would love to have my car replaced or repaired because of this issue/recall. Im uploading a picture of what my camaro looks like now.
I own a chevrolet, camaro 2014. This car has a defect with the steering key ignition. The key will not release from the steering column. This is a defect as a simple google search will show how prevalent this issue as there are forums and youtube videos with consumers complaining about this issue with this car. Even when i was at the dealer there was another patron there with this car, complaint and diagnosis. This is not a normal wear and tear issue it is a material defect by the manufacturer that should be recalled as it is so common. Please assist.this may not seem like the same concern as an airbag but it is an issue as it allows the consumer to be vulnerable trying to get their key it of the ignition and in most cases failing to be able to do so and needing to either leave the vehicle, have it towed and possibly depending on where this happens being vulnerable. I was parked at a gas station at night, anything could have happened while i was fidgeting with this key and unable to get it to release.
Steering wheel is locked up feels like the power steering has went out and very hard to steer.
Messages stating service power steering drive with care and service stabilitrak keep coming on constantly while driving. Car seems to drive fine but who to say it's not going to fail while driving
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. The contact stated that while driving approximately at 30 mph, a unknown part from underneath the vehicle fractured and removed from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the air dam fractured. The air dam was replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 22,000.

For the past year i have trouble taking the key out of the ignition when i park. I have to put the car on neutral or drive then back on park several times to get the key to come out. The body developed some dents on both sides which look like if i was in a hail storm, paid a few thousand to get the body repaired and the dents returned. Have that problem since i purchased the auto in 2014
My convertible top on my 2014 chevy camaro leaked water in the rear passenger side.
Made a turn in rain going approx 10 mph and car slid. Luckily no accident, however it is utter nonsense to sell an automobile in the northeast with summer tires only and then offer all weather tires and rims as a $1000.00 after market option. I feel this is not only unsafe but lethal to the driver and all occupants. I believe that chevy should be selling the car with all weather tires (safety first) and the summer tires as an option. I feel that paying $45,000.00 for a vehicle it should be safe. I feel that there will be many accidents to come and i would like to know "does someone have to die" to get this investigated. I feel chevy should recall all autos with these summer tires and replace them with all weather or at least have the owner sigh a waiver.
2014 chevrolet camaro.consumer writes in regards to electrical issues and dealership refusal to service vehicle and refusal to refund money.the consumer stated the tire pressure light illuminated.a minute later, the tire exploded. Also, the vehicle would not start.the tire pressure light illuminated for a second time.
2014 chevrolet camaro. Consumer writes in regards to key problem recall notice and expresses discontent over vehicle tires. *tgwthe consumer stated who could not drive the vehicle, when the temperature, was below 35 degrees, because the came equipped with summer tires.
Key keeps getting stuck in the admission when i put the car in park. It was sporadic but now its every time i go to pull my key out. I have read of many other camaro owners having this same problem
Hi i just bought a 2014 camero 2lt i started driving it bet then i all the sudden my key keeps getting stuck i took it to chevy dealer and they said its not a recall they said its the shifter but i dont believe them they are just trying to make money any way they can can someone please point me in the right direction thank you.
Heater core failed and has a leak. It is my wife's car. She was parked and it was a cold night in sf bay area. She got in, started the car and turned on the front windshield defroster. Immediately she could smell the odor and the windshield fogged over. She could see mist rising from the vents.
I was at a stop sign waiting for a break to enter the flow of traffic . Traffic was heavy and not moving for a second or more and a vehicle that had stopped motioned for me to enter the road in front of him , a right turn, and at that moment i applied pressure to the accelerator and realized with no notice that the camaro engine was no longer running, and i waived the courteous driver on. When i looked closely at the ignition with the switchblade swinging on the key wring and realized what had happened i broke out in a cold sweat! the ignition has the equivalent of a hair trigger. If i had entered traffic with the power this vehicle delivers with the switchblade swinging to the right the camaro would have cut off leaving me and anyone near me in possible danger.
Stereo going in an out. Heat and air improperly working and blowing only when radio works.
While driving i smelled smoke. After looking around i saw my back seat full of smoke. I pulled over immediately and was able to safety get out of the vehicle. The trunk popped open with flames coming out. I have a convertible and the top instantly ignited. The firemen where able to put out the fire but the fire spread through out the car.
Blend door broken

Heater core is leaking on 2014 camaro with 50k miles.repair is extensive involving removing the windshield and the entire front part of the interior.$1700-$2000 is the estimated bill and the car will probably never be the same since the dash parts were not designed to ne removed.

Vehicle was in motion on a highway, key must have moved from ignition and car shut down. Had to restart the car
The key to my vehicle would not release. This issue is plastered all over the internet as a continuous issue with this car.in fact, even when i was at the dealer there was another female customer with the exact same issue and whose car was diagnosed as needing a shifter. This issue needs to be recalled. While it may not seem the same as an airbag, women and also men can be placed in danger at night pulling up to gas stations, grocery stores, atom machines la their own driveways an unable to get their car out can leave them vulnerable to predators.it is unbelievable that such a consistent complaint with this car has not been addressed by the manufacturer. The frequency alone dictates this is a design flaw that should be corrected before someone is robbed, raped or worse by being distracted with this key, unable to release the key and move to safety at night
Ignition key issuesi have been issues with the ignition switch not releasing my key after shutting off the vehicle. I have to turn my key counter-clockwise several times before the key actually releases. I believe i have a faulty ignition key switch that needs replacement. I have not received a recall notification regarding this concern, but hope to hear something soon. Thank you for your concern in this important matter.
"takata recall" i have a 2014 chevy camaro and when the car is being driven on the hwy, sitting still or on a city streets. The chevy camaro radio will turn it's self off. Sometimestheir is a loud thump noise beforethe radio turns off and other times no thump. It will sometimes come back on after several minutes, or it might stay off. This is a very big problem, because i have read other posting concerning this problem with the 2014 camaro. I have only had this car a week and this has happened at less 6 times. Not happy about purchasing this car now, if this is how it's going to be. I'm only 23 year old and i cant afford to have to take it to the shop.
When i park my vehicle, shift into park, the key stays locked in the ignition.i have to turn the vehicle on and shift into drive or reverse and then shift into park again to release the key.this has happened before in 2016 and dealership fixed the problem after 4 times going to them.unfortunately, the problem is occurring again.i've taken my vehicle to chevrolet dealership and the problem is not occurring while it's there.my extended warranty is expiring soon and i still have this problem.tomorrow, an inspector will be assessing my car.my vehicle has been in/out of the dealership a total of 5 days...waiting to see what's wrong with it.the gas gauge doesn't move when the car is turned on.i have to turn it off then back on and the gas gauge moves.the air conditioner when i turned knob no air comes out.the screen say off/off and yet the knob is at full blast.i turn it back to the off position and then turn the knob to 7 and it continues to say off/off - no lights are on and no air comes out.i've given pictures to the service department and i'm waiting to see what the inspector says.it's a nuisance to have these problems.i'm thinking i bought a lemon car.too many issues...

Driving around exit 110 heading east on i-94, me and my wife were nearly run down by a crosset truck driver by the front of his truck. Based on the fact that the trailer was still in the right lane and the front of the truck rapidly swerned into the left lane, i would consider the idea that he dozed off. My wife swerved over and nearly hit the rails on the side of the highway to avoid a tragedy. And once we calmed down, we slowed way back and pulled over to let the trucker catch up to us. When he did i took pictures from my passenger seat so that we could identify the truck. When we reached the front of the vehicle at the drivers door with all of the necessary numbers, the driver stopped looking at the road and turned to take a picture of us. I am unsure why, but that is clearly illegal to use your phone or to fall asleep behind the wheel. I called the company and was told he is a professional so there was no reason to pull him off the road. Usdot # 551244, but i have pictures of the truck number and all additional identification numbers.
Key gets locked in the ignition after car is put into park and even after car has been turned off. For a while the stereo will turn off and on. Lights stay flickering from time to time.
The key to my ignition gets stuck when i attempt to turn the engine off. It takes almost 30 minutes to an hour for the ignition to release the key. In addition, it happens every time i try to take the key out of the ignition. I went to the dealership in regards to the issue as well as called general motors directly. I have not received any results from both options. I have been researching this issue in which i found that i am not the only person who is having this trouble. Almost every one with a camaro has a problem getting their key out of the ignition. Not only is my battery draining and i am having to get the battery jumped, but it is very unsafe. My car is my only means of transportation in which i have to drive one hour plus to work everyday as well as take my child to school. The key gets stuck at all times. I am at risk for having my car stolen and even worse being stranded, as well as my child, trying to get the ignition to release the key. It is very draining having to wait long hours to get the key out of the car. I am also paranoid that the car will be stolen when having to leave the car for 30 plus minutes just to come back and have the key released. This is a pressing issue as it is definitely a manufacturers issue. It is interfering with me when i go to the grocery store, work, my child's school, and every other place that i have to travel to daily. The issue presented itself at the beginning of january and tends to only have gotten worst.
I totaled out my car i flipped 8 times landed on all four of my tires. My airbags didn't deploy.. None of them
As i was driving through a school zone, my vehicle began to make a roaring sound and accelerated in speed.i kept pressing the brakes, but it would not decline in speed. The only thing i could do was make every attempt to avoid an accident and continue to press on the brake. My passenger and i were screaming to the top of our lungs and panicking. With stop signs and traffic lights up ahead, i was horrified. I continuously pressed on the brakes. Minutes later the roaring stopped and the car decreased in speed.after the incident, i immediately, called the dealership. And i brought the car in. I have taken the vehicle ,prior to the incident, to the dealership several times with concerns regarding the issue of speed control and strange sounds coming from the car. They told me that they could not find a problem. I had to pick up the vehicle. Although the car had done this before, this last experience has been the worst.i feel that they are brushing me off. I could have lost my life and caused injury my passenger, to my children and others. I am attempting to make every effort to resolve the issue but i feel helpless. In fear, i do not want to drive the vehicle. However,i purchased the vehicle to secure a primary source of transportation.
My car don't want to pull when taking off . Gear shift not changing . The radio goes on and off making horrible noise like the car fina blow up. There are noises coming from my trunk or back tires sounds like my car tearing up
1st problem, the left speaker started a loud screeching noise while the radio was stillplaying.
Electrical shortage causing radio malfunctions and heat/air malfunctions. At times my radio clockand date is off. These events happen when the vehicle is in motion or is stationed. The electrical shortage started two years after we purchased the brand new vehicle.
After the first 100 miles of use i always check the wheel lug nuts for proper torque value as per the owners manual and did so on my new 2014 camaro 2ss, purchased on 23 may 2014.i found all the wheel lug nuts way under torqued at approximately 80 lb ft of torque.,the 2014 camaro factory owners manual that came with the car stated 110lb ft of torque on each lug nut.also noted that on each lug nut there appearedto be a special coating material on the mating surface of each nut.looks & feels like a teflon coating.i always thought that this surface should be free of any lubrication so that when seated against the wheel surface it would be metal to metal with no lubrication required.could this coating be affecting the wheel lug nut torquing done during the wheel installation at the gm assembly plant?
The contact owns a 2014 chevrolet camaro. While driving approximately 30 mph, the steering wheel shook violently. In addition, the front driver side wheel detached from the vehicle. There were no warning indicators. The vehicle had to be towed to a independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the front driver side alloy wheel, rubber valve, driver side c-liner, and hub and bearing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 28,313.
