While driving at 45 mph consumer was involved in a frontal crash. Upon impact, both driver's side and passenger's side air bags failed to deploy.both driver and passenger suffered minor injuries. Vehicle was totaled.consumer states road was slightly damp, and the vehicle started to fish tailed, consumer tried to stop the vehicle but it seemed to have gained speed instead of slowing down, vehicle started going around in circles and front end hit an enbankment, through it around and backend went into a deep ditch, the seat belts broke from the roof of the vehicle , as well as other damage to vehicle.

What do i do about it to get it fixed, i saw a tsb on it.

Car has constant miss and poor drivability at times. Car started missing very bad. Shut car off and it would not restart. Towed to dealer. Dealer fixed no start but found miss in car. Stated distibuter cap maybe the problem. This miss developed after warrenty work on water pump and a.i.r pump replacement.

Ignition control module has failed twice. Ignition coils have failed 3 times. Car vibrates or shuts off when coils or module goes bad. Engine has bad miss when coils or module are going out. This continues to be an ongoing problem that has to be repaired approximately once every 6 months. Parking brake release button rattles when driving.

Consumer states there are two problems with the computer aided gear selection, it physically prevents him from using 2nd or 3rd gear when shifting from first, it also makes it difficult for consumer to move any gear when enabled, he states he struggles with the gear shift for up to two seconds.

Pinched wire at trunk causing interior light failure.

Consumer states that the cooling fan motor cuts off . Dealer stated that the wires that connect to the cooling fan are not powerful enough.nlm

Date listed is from the last repair; this car has been a constant source of electrical problems.

While driving vehicle about 30 mphabs light came on and has been on for long time.also, because of this matter fuse blew up.three times consumer has taken vehicle for repair.in addition,tail light has not worked properly.

I believe a problem "may" exist with chevrolet cars employing the new five year or 50k miles anti-freeze.from personal experience and those of relatives it appears the flushing and replacement of anti-freeze at the suggested five year or 50k miles point may lead to water pump failure within weeks even though the car has less than 50k miles on the odometer.

Amplifier in rear of car burst into flames during normal operation while driving car. If amp was incased in metal istead of plastic fire would not have happened. Fire department was called. Wiring for rear lighting was destroyed by fire.

Vehicle caught fire prior to manufacturer's recall c99083 regarding the air injection reactor pump emission control system, the insurer of the vehicle owner is requesting reimbursement for the damages.

The clip that hold the fuel line under the engine i don't belive is strong enough to complete its task.i have heard many incidents in where owner of the 94- present camaros have had fires under the hood of there car because this plastic clip breaks and the fuel line then comes incontact with the valve covers which burns a hole in the fuel line and caused a fire under the hood.i belive this a safety hazard and should be fixed.thanks

While drivinga fire started under the hood due to the fuel line leaking gas because it was rubbing against the manifold. Dealer has not seen vehicle.

Due to a hole in the fuel line, fuel is leaking and causing the vehicle to catch on fire.

Car would not start, when it did it idled rough. I drove it 1/2 mile and it lost power and died. Towed to dealer sat over week end car sarted and ran fine. Code showed lean condition in all 8 cylinders.

Fuel injectors failed.

Gas cap failed.

Automatic trunk latch failed.

Emergency brake failed.

Tranmission failed.

Tackometer failed.

Shift control feature on the manual transmission gets stuck when trying to accelerate intermittently.

When driving at any speed the vehicle is shifting hard and there is a cluckingnoise coming fromt the rear end of the vehicle.

The problem is the transmission is slipping bewteen gears between 50-55 and 60-65.transmission replaced once in december.brought it in again in january due to the same problem, and dealer said it was normal for a gradual acceleration, i must accelerate fast to not slip.wanted to report this to determine if this is normal or if there is a problem.dealer stated it should smooth out.

Auto transmission failed at 18000 miles.replaced n/c.failed again at 40000 miles.replaced at n/c.failed for third time at 76800 miles. Dealer offers no assistance.chevrolet cotacted.csr offers no assistance and is unwilling to admit that this is a manufactures defect.currently seeking further assistance.dealer states that warranty on replacement trans. Is 3/50000 if customer pays for repair but only 3/36000 if dealer replaces under warranty.

My camaro has been in the shop presenting the p1870 transmission code approximately 10 times.the dealer has performed over 2000 warrantied major work on the transmission prior to 36000 miles.i am still having repeated problems with the transmission and have looked up the technical service bulletins only to find that there are many regarding the transmission-automatic and the computer presenting the p1870 code.i am repeatedly told that nothing is wrong with the car and that they cannot duplicate the problem.however the service engine soon light is still coming on indicating transmission slippage.i have contact gm with no reply.you would think after performing $2500 worth of useless repair work that they would have put in a rebuilt transmission or offered help to me in another way.it is slowly becoming a safety and punitive matter to me.

Consumer has noticed a loud noise in the rear wheel bearings that may cause the rear wheel to break off. Dealer has been contacted.

At about 28,000 miles, pinion seal was leaking, dealer service dept fixed.at about 35,000 miles, pinion bearings and other bearings went bad, private shop fixed.at about 50,000 miles, bearing in rear end went bad again, private shop fixed.now, bearing in middle of driveshaft is bad (no repair as of yet).

Slave seal and rear end gearing leaked.

At low speeds car has a clunking sound that comes from rear end. Dealer states that the fuid needed to be changed. The fluid was changed and the car still makes this noise. Have not returned to dealer yet.

While driving consumer was involved in a frontal crash at 45 mph.upon impact, front driver's sideseat belt restraint completely separated fromtrack. Driver suffered minor injuries. The vehicle was completly totaled. None of the safty features worked. Consumer would like to know if at any time gm had any recalls or tech service bullitins that concern this problem on same make model and year.

Passenger and driver seat belt anchor broke; seatbelt inoperable.

While drivingthe driver's and passenger'srestraints broke at the anchor,causing the restraints to be inoperable.the dealer will replace the restraints.themanufacturer has been notified.

Both original seat belt guides have failed. The drivers side one was replaced on 4/8/99 and failed again on 10/24/99.if the guide broke during a crash, the seat belt could wrap around the drivers neck causing serious harm.can we get gm to fix this bad plastic piece for good?

Braking distance increases 45 percent when vehicle is wet from rain or a car wash.abs system fails when brakes are wet.

A police officer witnessed the accident.the car was turning right on a slight downhill grade.the weigh shifted forward, locking up the abs system, causing the car to continue forward with no pull ot traction to complete the turn.this loss of control at normal speeds may have caused similar accident several months ago.there was no ticket issued.the cause was listed as "locking of the abs braking system".we believe that the gm abs system has a high degreee of probability of being very dangerous.we would like to know how many similar reports have been lodged and recommend a factory replacement or adjustment to this potentiually dangerous system in the 1996 cars.is there a known fix to this?

When pressingdown on brake pedal it goes to the floor.has to pump brakes to stop vehicle.also,brake light comes on.this only happens when coming to a stop.

This has happened numerous times. Brake pedal will have no pressure and car will take extra distance to stop. This happens when it is wet or at low speeds wet or dry.

Abs jumper defective causing abs light to illuminate.

Rear calipers failed.

I have replaced the master cylinder for the brakes 3-4 times and have put new brakes on itall the way around.there is surely no way i could go through that many master cylinders with in the time i have had it.my next move is to replace or look at the "booster" for the air brake system.my brakes are not holding pressure, when stopped, i have to ethier put it in park, or pump the brake to stay fully stopped....it kinda "ease up" like you unknownly let your foot off of the brake but you don't.please let me know something on this...anything.thank you very much. This is reference a safety problem during a moving emergency stop/braking situation on the 1996 camaro.naming the panel or cover for the bottom of the drivers side dash, just above the brake and gas pedals.the panel has a cut out for the drivers foot just above the gas peddle, but it also has a slight drop down above the brake peddle.during an emergency stop situation, the driver moves his foot from the gas peddle to the brake, but strikes the drop in the foot panel above and does not allow drivers foot to get over the brake peddle& then when he pushes down, he steps on the gas peddle causing him to run into what he started to brake for, causing an accident.

Steering failure.

During vehicle operation on wet pavement only, the steering locks up, making it difficult to make a turn. The problem has taken place 3x.

While making a turnsteering wheel will lock for a few seconds until it pops.also,power steering will not work. Then, while driving straight it will be fine.

Alarm system inoperative.

Begging of tread separation.went to firestone dealer they would not even admit it was a default and wanted me to but a new tire.went to goodyear they would not let me leave parking lot on my tire.they gave me a spare and told me firestone must replace all my tires because they were dangerous. What should i do put the tire back on and geta good lawyer or maybe contact better business ,by the way firestone corp. Offices are giving me run around also.i just want to have safe tires.

First one was covered by what i was told a silent recall. This time they are saying they never said that before and this time it is up to me to pay for the seal.

Attempted to get into vehicle while in neutral, tires screeched and car took off.

Fuel throttle was stuck while the vehicle only had 1.5 k miles.tt
