Both airbags deployed while driving 20 mph.there was no accident.i contacted chevrolet and they had my vehicle towed to the nearest dealership.they called me back the next day to say that there was damage underneath the vehicle that caused the airbags to deploy so they would do nothing for me.after the airbags deployed the car made a loud noise while running which it was not making prior to the incident.chevy said that i had hit something very hard and it bent the frame on the underneath of the car which intern caused the loud noise.my problem with this is that the car was running perfect prior to the airbags deploying and there was absolutely no noise while the car was running.also, there is no damage to the body of the vehicle at all.the person at don mealy chevrolet in orlando, fl that inspected my car said that i probably hit something prior to this incident that caused the airbags to be activated and after that point something as little as going over a speed bump could have caused the airbags to deploy.what i do not understand is that if the damage underneath the vehicle is what caused the airbags to deploy, and if the noise that the vehicle is making now after the airbags deployed is from this damage that supposedly happened sometime prior to this is the cause of the loud noise the car is producing, why was the car running perfect prior to the airbags deploying for no reason?i would like to know what i can do, if anything?i do not have an estimate on the damage yet because chevy would not tell the estimated cost of damage unless i signed a release for them to fix the vehicle, but i do know that the damage is extensive.
My daughter, tabitha, was involved in an accident where she was hit on the left side in the rear by rear wheel well.she was spun around and her air bag did not open up and she has suffered brain swelling, whiplash, back and neck injury and a contusion to her head.car is totaled.what does oem mean?

The air bag in my camaro deployed at the speed of 20 mph coming out at 200 miles per hour; 2,000 lbs. Of pressure per square inch and the force of a 12-guage-shotgun blast (according to your website and other research- which i have a full outline on, complete with sources) in my face. Had the air bag never deployed, i would have been fine, where the shoulder harness and/or seatbelt would have more than sufficed.the warning posted on the dash and steering wheel or visor is for children under 12; however, i stand 61 inches is tall and 112 pounds; the average 12-year old is about this size.there is no warning for small women.the air bag caused a frontal lobe injury, (i was unconscious for 45 minutes) a broken nose, abrasions on the side of my face, ruptured two discs in my neck (c5 and c6) and further injuring my spinal cord (myleomalacia).the ruptured discs in my neck are pressing inwards against my spinal cord, and the resulting spinal cord and nerve compression are affecting primarily my hands, as well as my neck, left shoulder, shoulder blade and leg movements. The pain is horrendous-the nerve pain. This cost me my career as a legal secretary of 23 years because the nerves that are affected are primarily in my hands. I have to have surgery or i might pick up a suitcase one day and paralyze myself, according to my neurologist.i have applied for disability and awaiting the round of appeals as it always goes here in texas. I am not married and had no other resources.i lost my car, my house and my health due to this air bag.there are two issues here:1) the sensitivity of the air bag; the speed at which it hit me and the subsequent permanent injuries; and2) the law that still says if you hit someone in the rear, it is automatically your fault.there are many staged accidents where the insurance company has to pay and people are injured, all for the sake of getting large sums of money from the insurance companies.

For no apparent reason, my entire gauge cluster lights, a/c & air control knob lights, and the light for the shifter all stopped working. Also, my trip odometer does not function either. I checked the fuse panel located on the left of the steering wheel and noticed i wasn't missing any of them & none went bad either. What else could be causing this to happen? obviously it's an electrical problem of some sort.

My 2010 camaro that was purchased newhad 36,280miles on it when it failed the required emission test do to the crankshaft (timing belts) being bad . I have contacted gmc and have asked the dealership in homewood il to assist me in the repairs as the repairs were $1,700.00. I was told that the warranty expired at 36,000 miles or 6 years. I was told that i had to pay for the repairs out of pocket. Thechevrolet dealership and gmc are aware the this year and model car has this engine problem and are not willing to correct them causing the owners to repair the issue and pay for the repairs. This car cost around $38,000 dollars to purchase new.

Distributor failed at only 22,000 miles due to design flaw allowing it to be exposed to moisture which caused the bearings to seize.manufacturer redesigned faulty part immediately in following model year to include vacuum seals which prevent this problem but did not recall and refuse to reimburse excessive cost ($1,600) to repair known defect with lt1 engine on 1994 models.*la

Vehical always matained, oil change every 3,00 miles,fluids checked receits for all. Engine block should not have cracked. Vehicle was never abused.

While driving the vehicle at any speed a little noise came from under the hood which became louder and louder.when taken to dealership the flywheel was replaced. The vehicle has been taken back to dealer time and time again for various problems. The flywheel was replaced again in march of 1998 for the same reason. While driving the vehicle on may 1, 1998, the vehicle seemed to lose all power and quit. There is 60,000 miles on the vehicle.

Took vehicle to dealer who stated that ecm valve needed replacing.consumer went to the dealership twice.the dealer gave consumer 175 dollars to have the vehicle repaired, which was not enough according to the mechanic.the mechanic stated the longer the vehicle is driven with out having the part replaced, the rougher the vehicle will run.the vehicle knocks and when turning the transmission makes noises.*jg
Twice the co2 sensors were replaced with in 1 yr. And the windows broke.we know of another camaro, same year, with the same proplems.
The egr valve was replaced twice in 2 years.

Abierta la tapa el fuego coge fuerza en 2 minutos los accesorios plasticos de ventilacion del motor, la bateria, el sistema electrico, el sistema de frenos, la correa de reparticion, el alternador; en fin todo el cubiculo del motor se quemo.el exterior del carro no sufrio danos excepto por la pintura bajo la rejilla decorativa de la tapa del motor, y la rejilla de ventilacion entre la tapa del motor y el cristal delantero (donde se ubican los limpiavidrios). Por internet encontre un recalls bajo nhtsa search results identificado como nhtsa campaing id number: 93v199000, donde informa de problemas en las lineas de combustible por estar muy cerca de areas de alta temperatura. Hice contacto con gm en la florida solicitando informacion sobre este recalls manifestandome que solo 600 autos sufrieron este problema.no satisfecho con esta respuesta encontre una situacion similar menos grave en nhtsa office of defects investigation. The contact owns a 1994 chevrolet camaro.while driving at an unknown speed, the contact smelled something burning in her vehicle.she drove to a repair shop and was informed that the fuel line was misrouted, which caused it to strike the air pressure exhaust area, burn, and leak fuel.the manufacturer stated that the vehicle was excluded from nhtsa campaign id number 93v199000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery:hoses, lines/piping, and fittings); therefore, they could not assist.the failure mileage was 113,000.
Pulled up to gas station, vehicle caught on fire, under hood, on drivers side, possibly due to fuel lines, laying on top of exhaust air check valve on drivers side. Air check valve possibly burnt fuel lines and caught fire, hood area burnt for about two minutes, and caused the following damage.the hood vent, cowl. Burnt four spark plug wires, and damaged clips securing them, burnt the majority of the under hood portion of the fuel lines. Melted the rack and pinion steering drivers side boot and steering gear cover. It also melted wires related to the coolant sender, and air pump connectors. Also the top of the exhaust manifold covering was melted, but didn't have any effect on the engine. I have so far repaired the following things related to the engine, in order to drive it; fuel lines, and spark plug wires.

Fuel line lastic retaining clip, attached to throttle likage housing, tha tholds the fuel lines as they cross over the exhaust manifolds, became brittle due to heat rising off the exhaust manifold/air tubes.
I have had two failures of the gas cap.it is a non-vented gas cap with a ratcheting mechanism.there is a rubber seal that is suppose to seal the gas cap to the filler neck when the cap is tightened so the rachet clicks three times.the plastic screw thread on the cap is galling.the cap does not tighten and seal the tank before the rachet begins to click.i believe a combination of wear and chemical attack is causing the threads to bind in the filler neck.when the cap does not seal, i can smell gasoline fumes coming from the tank when i stop and the window is down.this is both a fire hazard and needless release of voc's to the envirnment.i will replace the cap myself, but if this problem is common to these gas caps they should all be replaced.

I was swerving to avoid a second car, i went into anothe lane, head on collision with a full size f-150, truck was at 60mph, both turnd to avoid eachother, same direction...driver side belt came out of frame, no marks on body, hands and arms,legs ets, all smashed into the dash.the belt was and is still lached.the bolt was only in the frame, what appers to be less than 4 threds of the anker!i sustaind a mild head concution as well as deep contusions to the arms and lower legs, as well the left hand was broken up in meny places, smale bone fragments needing to be repaird. I, on the advice of an atturny, perchased the care back from the ajuster as evidence that the restraint faild!this car was in like new condition. Thothing was replaced on the interer & only manufacturer replacment parts for the engine components! "what happend" this was a neer 100mph empact, i needed the assurence that the belt was ther............i could have died or been sent out the windsheeld.

In what would have been minor accident-went off side of road to avoid collision with vehicle that was passing on wet pavement;car started to slide towards passing vehicle, pulled over to right and off road, hit driveway and very shallow "ditch" upon this impactdrivers seat broke into a fulling reclining position: causing total loss of control of vehicle: could not see to steer-looking straight at roof of car; could not brake: lurching backward pulled foot back too far to have contact, and the fast jerk backward pulled muscles in abdomen, and may have caused temporary unconciousness.the accident then turned into major- continued acceleration, went airborne, landed front up at 80 degree angle on hillside, after spinning in air.every panel on car was damaged except two doors.if passenger had been in rear seat he would have been crushed by impact of seat driving backward into the recline postion.seat should have been made strong enough to withstand this minor impact and allow to maintain control of vehicle
I have a chevrolet camaro z28 1994, quite often the abs inoperable light comes on, meaning the abs or antilock braking system in which the severity of the abs operating is crucial to preventing accidents.it happens while driving, at any given speed and it terrifies me when i see it. I am unaware of what because of the antilock braking system failure is. I also owned a pontiac firebird 1997 that had the exact same issue, moreover these two cars are basically the same except for the body.this is a gm problem in lieu of both cars being made by gm.i have not been informed of any recall nor have i seen this issue on any recall list,antilock braking systems have become standard on all vehicles due to the effectiveness of preventing accidents and i have also readmany comments from other owners of this vehicle with the same issue.i strongly urge you to please take this into careful consideration moreover investigation.thank you so much for this website where consumers are able to voice these defects thatautomotive manufacturers sweep under the rug. When applying the abs brakes on wet pavement the abs brakes pedal will travel to the floor causing extended stopping distance.please add further details.

When it's been raining the brakes don't function very well! i have literally stood on the brake pedal and had trouble stopping the car! the tires aren't locking up, so it's not an abs problem! i know of several others who have all had the same problems! a lot of these people have replaced the entire front braking system with either an aftermarket system or by using the front brake system off of the 1998 and newer camaro. All have been very please with the results! for what it's worth the brakes don't work that well when there isn't any rain! i know at least one person i can think of that has totaled his car in the rain cause the brakes didn't want to stop the car, and i have come very close my self! it's really scarry to push the brakes and not stop! this problem seems to be on 1993-1997 models.

Rear brakes have been realigned twice, and they are needing to be realigned again. Als abs system failed.the dealer has been notified.
While driivng 25 to 30 mph and applying abs brakes brake pedal goes to the floor. Vehicle has been into dealer, and several parts has been replaced, such as wheel cylinders etc.

3 of 4 tires purchased suffered side wall failure.
For no apparent reason, my entire gauge cluster lights, a/c & air control knob lights, and the light for the shifter all stopped working. Also, my trip odometer does not function either. I checked the fuse panel located on the left of the steering wheel and noticed i wasn't missing any of them & none went bad either. What else could be causing this to happen? obviously it's an electrical problem of some sort.
The steering wheel where the airbag isswelling due to the heat, and the airbag light continues to stay. It only swells when extremely hot.

At idle and in gear, idle fluctuates rapidly and engines rpm is high enough that the brakes will hardly keep the car stopped. The first time it happened i was at a traffic light and it jumped into the intersection. Have to put into neutral to keep from hitting others in the rear. Consumer has two1994 camaros. The first vehicle's passenger power window got stuck and dealer replaced it. Thesecond incident occurred on01-jan-96,at which timedriver's power window hasbeen replaced because it wasalso getting stuck. After being replaced, driver's power window continued to get stuck the same way as the passenger's power window. This is a common problem.dealer cannot determine the problem.please provide further information.

I did not purchase from my complaint, i called about my t top flying off into traffic on expressway,and being destroyed they gave me parts and replacement i was told was $189.00 when i went to purchase the glass they said oh no that piece of glass is well over $1.000.00 ,even a large windshield does;st cost this much and the dealer told me insurance company's are upset with this price too can some one help me... These prices are crazy and no glassmakers will touch t tops.
Driving down highway approximately 50mph heard a loud noise the sun roof just exploded,shattering the glass into tiny pieces.

Weather condition; was raining hard ,windshield wiper was loose or possibly came off ,passenger's side is inoperative. This defect can result in an accident in extreme weather conditions.
When putting the windsheild wiper on low/high speed, somtimes the one wiper stopped working and on high wiper locked up. Please describe .
