The windshield wipers on my 95 c1500 works randomly at best. The pump for the fluid also only works some of the time. Some times i'll turn of the wipers and it will take up to a minute for them to start working,other times they work fine and then still other times they don't work at all. Fluid haven't come out of the pump for the last 4 months at all.

1) the windshield wipers will not work consistently. Occasionally they will not work at all. Dealer would not guarantee that the problem would not resurface if fixed. 2) within the first 6000 miles my truck experienced a drop in power, performance and economy. In addition it could not opperate on 87 octane fuel without severe pinging and consumed 2 quarts of oil every 3000 miles. The dealer serviced the truck and said it was operating as designed. Similar complaints were made at almost every dealer service. When the truck would no longer operate on 93+ octane fuel without pinging, i took it to another dealer. The dealer diagnosed all of the ongoing performance problems to be caused by the "valve seals leaking oil and fouling the plugs". I contacted gm at customer assistance (800 222 1020)and was told that a supervisor would contact me to discuss the problem. However, no one contacted me and lately the truck uses a quart of oil every 750 miles. In addition, the paint near the exaust turns dark between washes.
While driving there was a fire in the engine compartment.
At approx. 5:30 am engine started to burn, the fire started in the engine compartment and burned throughout the vehicle,reaching the gas tank.vehicle is a total loss.

Abs light came on, on dash, while traveling down a steep on lane dirt trail on a mountain, brakes locked up causing truck to slide down the trail about 75 ft, before truck came to stop in the bushes. Upon applying the brakes and depressing brake pedal, an inordinate amount of time will elapse before brakes slow down the vehicle. When pressure to pedal is augmented, the resistance to pedal seems to increase proportionately and hinders effort to expedite brake operation.

After regular maintenence changing of brake fluid vehicle had a hard pull to the right when you first stepped on the brakes. After several mores attemps to bleed the system the pull was still there. I contacted the dealer for guidence and weseloh chevrolet said to bring it in to them. They performed a full function bleed on my truck. I drove away from the dealer and within 1 block the brakes pulled right and i returned to the dealer. Their fix was to replace the calipers, brake linings and front brake hoses. Although that seemed to work, i still felt an occasional pull to the right but thought i was just imagining things as it would not pull twice in a row. In july of 2001 the pull again returned and would not go away. I took it back to the dealer and at this time they said the abs valve was bad. I showed them a tsb (99-05-24-001a) and asked how they would not condem and replace the abs valve on all trucks having exactly the same part number instead of just the suburban model. Why does this tsb not deal with all the vehicles having this part number in its abs system? i hope this helps other truck owners resolve their problems with the abs brake system. This is a dangerous situation!!!!!!
Five times i turned my truck in for repairs due to a hard pull to the left or right during braking and i finally gave up as frustration set in. Many work days lost and still i live with the same problem. The brakes are terrible and it takes for ever to stop the truck. I am afraid of what would happen in a panic stop. Also the windshield wipers work whenever they feel like.

The inner door handle broke without warning and the outer handle would not release the opening/closing mechanism.as a result the consumer had to crawl over the center console and exit through the passenger side door.the was the second handle that had to be replaced.the door handle is made of pot metal which breaks inside the door panel.

Purchased 1995 chevrolet full size truck from valley auto center in 1998 since date of purchase the frame has broke 2 times in the same place. The first repair was done 1 year afterpurchase, apprearantely instead of repairing they did more damage by welding on a preheated that was not supposed to be welded on in the first place. Do to the welding and poor judgement here i am 6 months later with the same problem. The frame is now completely broke and caving in and rubbing against the cab, associated with this other problems have accumalated such as gas tank damage, cross member,drive shaft, suspension front and rear, and vehicle shakes uncontrollabily when applying the brake pedal. Ive taken this vehicle down to several repair shops along with the original one who repaired it in the begining and apprearantly this problem is not repairable the whole frame must be replaced and because of liabilty purposes they do not want to touch the vehicle. I continue to receive the run around from the dealer, and i fell this is not a safe or legal vehicle to have on the road not only for myself and my two small children safety but for others aswell.

About 5 times in the last 6 months, the windshield wipers failed to operate during rain.i opened the hood and struck the wiper module and they commenced to operate.this is an unsafe condition when driving and it starts to rain , especially when traveling at a high rate of speed and unable to stop because of traffic or road conditions.

Which were the same as those done for the recall, but mine were not done at no cost to me.i am reporting that this recall does not cover enough of the models during this time frame as i know others, including myself, who are not covered by the recall yet experience the same problem.this defect should be fixed for free for all owners of '94-'96 model year chevrolet trucks.

My wipers worked intermittently.if i grabbed the blakes, and shook them, they would usually start working again.they would sometimes just stop working in a rain down pour.very danagerous!!!!i understand that there was a recall put out on most chevy p/u's and utility vehicles.it looks like all but my 1995 c1500.surely they all have they same wiper system components as mine (at least the tahoe and surburban).was mine not recalled because of some bean count or is it infact different than the others?i do know there are other folks who have the same make and model as mine with the same problem.i have also gotten conflicting stories.my delearship says there is no recall on mine vehicle, but a website (www.alldata.com) says there is.i called a 1-800 number for chevrolet, and they told me i would have to contact my dealership.
Experiencing exactly the same symptoms of recall 98v150001 but was told by chevrolet that my vehicle is not part of recall.
According with nhtsa database, my truck had a recall on the windshield wiper assembly (98v150001). I called the local dealer, lakeside chevy, spoke with gary at the service department, found out my truck has not been through the recall and he failed to acknowledge this recall, saying that i had to pay $95.00 approx., to get it fixed. I'd like to ask for your help determining if this needs to be repaired by the manufacturer and if such, where i need to take it. Thanks.dt

The windshield wipers have failed on numerous occassions while traveling down the highway.this will also occur if the truck is stopped.at first it appears to be a loose or incomplete circuit.however, talking to a friend who has a truck same year and model has had the same problem.he took his to the dealer and they repaired it.he did not know exactly what they had done to the truck but said they replaced some parts. They also charged him for the service. Indiscussing this problem with other people who have had the same problem, the problem is as follows:there is a fail;ure in the circuit board on the wiper motot assembly.i believe this is a safety matter and should be a recall and repair at no cost.it is extremely difficult to see, even to pull off the road, in a driving rain.thank you .

I took my truck in two times to bishop (where i bought it) first time was on 10/30/97 one month after i purchased it, and on 5/29/98, i told them that the wipers worked only when they wanted to work.the service man said he flicked the switch and there was no problem i explained to him that it didn't always work, i took it the second time and the same thing happend, i recently took it to tipton motor company because the wipers do not work unless you manualy pull them up to get them started.i was told that there is a recall but my truck did not fall under that recall.i contacted chevrolets 800 number and they said they could try a good will to see if they would be responsible for repairs then they said no because of the mileage on the truck. The mileage is only 39 thousand not much for a truck over four years old.i have taken my vehical in three times i am going to get it fixed myself. I truly believe chevy should be responsible for its defects on all vehicles not just a selected few.i havethree chevey's and have never had a proplem with them before this changes my view of chevy now.just the non cooperation i received from customer service. *mjs
