The alarm assembly (gm part number 15042437) failed to work properly with the seatbelt restraint system.the alarm assembly is supposed to provide a brief audible tone, and the seatbelt indicator light on the instrument panel was supposed to remain lit, when the drivers seatbelt was unattached.the audible tone was no longer functioning, and the seatbelt light on the instrument panel would not remain lit.i replaced the alarm assembly, and now everything is working once again.the dealer informed me that this particular component was flagged in their system as being involved in a recall campaign.i think there is a need to see if other model years need to be included in this same recall campaign.the dealer was unable to provide me with any specific details.i'm concerned about this component failing since it directly impacts the warning system associated with the seatbelts.
Brake lights do not work on 1994 chevy z71 pick up.
Nhtsa recall 99v025000/ manufacturer's recall 98065 concerning brake lights.consumer called for an appointment. Need part still wasn't available.

Had received a notice c98065-s from manufacturer concerning the brake lights. Took to dealer for repairs. The mechanic indicated the brake light switch wires had melted & was not able to repair them. Had owner sign receipt to the effect. Brake lights are not working now.

Headlight switch shorted out causing headlights to turn off while driving.switch was hot and there was a smell of burning wires.switch was replaced with factory switch from chevrolet dealership and it repeated the problem.
Gm 6.5 diesel just shuts itself off going down the road lose power steering and power brakes good way to get people killed. Gm replaced one pump at 110,000 had the pump removed and rebuilt at 130,000 now it starting all over again . Common problem with this style fuel system after looking on the internet called gm they didnot seem worried about it .
Failure of fuel injection pump occured on 3 different occasions . The firstfailure occured on august of 1997 with28800 miles while still under warranty. Fuel injection pump was replaced at jay chevrolet in highland , michigan.the second failure took place injuly of 1999 with approx. 45000 miles repair done at champion chevrolet howell, mi .three months after second repair, major engine damage occured as a result of defective fuel injector, causingloss of steering and brake systems &putting driver and all other road traffic in danger.this truck is used in a seasonal businesswhich runs from april - nov. Because we use the vehicle only 7 monthsof the year, we have gone over the 5 year warranty but are way under the 100,000 mile warranty .authorizedchevrolet service technicians acknowledge many problems with faulty fuel injection pumps on the diesel engines, yet the manufacturer acceptsno responsibility to repair and or replace damages caused from defective parts installed by the manufacturer .this is a potentially serious safety defect and should be given immediate attention. I have made several attemps while still under warrantyto have all problemswithfuel injection systems to be repaired so that we can get reasonableuse from this vehicle.there is no one that can say49,000 mileson a dieselengine is reasonablelife expectancy. I wouldappreciate any help or suggestionsyou may have so that we can resolvethese problems once and forall.

1 year ago received recall notice (#95v24100). Dealer is always booked. Not open on saturdays. Only vehicle in family.
Driverside seat belt reciever has broken.

Received recallnotice from manufacturer (#96e010000) 1 yr ago. Only vehicle in family & dealer not open on saturdays. Vehicle not repaired due to dealer saying booked for those days. Keep getting notice vehicle not repaired.
Driver's seat broke & fell backwards while driving.consumer was traveling at 60mph. Passengergrabbed steering wheel because driver lost semi-control of vehicle.manufacturer was contacted & said they would report problem.
Wiper motor has quit a few times when driving in the rain . I've had to get out in the rain and tap on the motor to get the wipers going . So i ended up replacing the complete unit out of my own pocket . I didn't know about a recall at the time so i ended up spending money to replace the unit . Then i find out the driver door is sagging and there is a recall on that

However, according to my vin, my truck is not included in this recall. The recall is due to a defect which if present will cause your wipers to do exactly what my wipers are doing.this is obviously the same issue on more vin's than originally considered.gm/chevrolet should do the right thing and replace all of these defective wiper motor components.it is too dangerous to be driving in the rain and all of a sudden your wipers stop working for them not to.
October 15, 2003 wipers working intermittent.november 3, 2003 wipers not working at all.located recall information on the dot web site and contacted local dealership.was told that the last 8 digits of my vin indicated it was not included in the recall.i contacted chevrolet at the 800 number and was told the same thing.also told that due to high mileage (143k) it probably would not be covered anyway; however, i should keep a copy of the repair receipts in the event it might be covered in the future.

My 1994 chevrolet truck is experiencing intermittent problems with the operation of the windshield wipers. There is a recall notice for this exact problem (#03v159000). I've contacted the dealership and chevrolet who state my vin# is not included in this recall. I beleve this recall should be extended to include my truck and possibly other manufactured with it.
I have been having intermittent wiper failure on my 1994 chevrolet c/k pickup.i was researching for the problem, andi found out that chevrolet had issued a recall notice.i contacted chevrolet and they said that there is a recall, but my vin does not qualify for the recall.when i pressured them on the safety issues and the fact that the wipers can quite at any time especially when it is raining, they said they could do nothing.my concern is that with the sudden onset of this problem could cause some severe accidents and would like to see the recall expanded to all vehicles with this windshield wiper configuration not just which vin or assembly line the product came off of.i am issuing this complaint because i can't wait for chevrolet to expand this to a realistic recall because i feel that it is just a matter of time before someone is injured and my vehicle is unusable during inclement weather.*la

Windshield wiper motor works intermittently. Reported to dealer , service manager said there was a recall for this problem but my vehicle was not included in the recall. He stated that he didn't understand why not because the failed part on my pickup was the same part included on the recall for other pickups. Contacted chevrolet on 10/1/99,they said my vehicle was not part of the recall and that they were sorry if their service didn't meet my expectations. They woudn't give any explanation as to why a safety problem was being repaired free of charge on other pickups but not mine. Ialso requested info as to which vehicles were included in the recall for comparison, and they said they couldn't give me that information

I am the original owner of a 1994 chevrolet silverado k1500 extended cab truck.the windshield wipers only work intermittently and have for some time.i could be driving down the highway in a rain storm and all of a sudden they decide to shut off completely.this is a huge safety issue.i just recently became aware of a recall for 1994 chevy trucks ( nhtsa campaign id number : 03v159000 ).i contacted the local chevy dealership and was told that my vehicle is not included in this recall.apparently the recall does not include enough vehicles because mine is acting in a similar manner.thanks for your help.
Dt: the windshield wiper motor circuit board worked intermittently. It worked when first purchased.the consumerstarted noticing this on april 13, 2005, but it did make a buzzing sound when it was not working. Contacted the dealer, and they confirmed the problem. It was not included in the recall although it hadthe same exact problem that waslisted on the recall.the consumer had the module replaced and now works fine.

While driving 55 mph in inclement weather, the windshield wipers failed.this caused poor visibility to the driver, however, theconsumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and drove it to the dealer for inspection. The contact owns a 1994 chevrolet c/k pickup.the windshield wipers have been working intermittently since 1996 and will not shut off by themselves.the vehicle has to be turned off and restarted.the failure was noticed while driving 50 mph.the vehicle was not taken to the dealer.the purchase date was unknown.the current mileage was 163,000 and failure mileage was 50,000. The consumer was having the same problems as recall#03v159000 regarding the windshield wiper. The dealership would not repair free of charge, because the vin was not included. Please provide more information.
Windshield wipers work intermittently or quit altogether. The circuit board for the wiper control has to be replaced. Many of these pu trucks and suv's have a recall, but not the older units. Losing your wipers in snow or rain is not good. I think they should recall and replace all these units they have built. Our truck is a 1993 but your form wouldn't take that year. I have many friends with the same trouble.
Nhtsa campaign number 03v159000-windshield wiper motor - our pick-up, according to our chevy dealer does not qualify for this recall, although we have had to replace the part truck manuf. 1/94, k10753 missed recall by 2 months. Should maybe expand recall dates.

Visibility:windshield wiper/washer:motor intermittent failure of wipers. I have to hit the wiper motor to get them working again. A recall was issued 03v15900 gm # 03023 but my vehicle was not included, exact same symptoms. Dealer stated vehicle not included in recall, but is the exact same problem.
Windshield wipers sometimes work, sometimes don't. Took the vehicle to jon lancaster chevrolet in madison, wi to have the windshield wiper module (circuit board) replaced and they would not authorize the free replacement.said that the vehicle had over 70,000 miles on it and thus was exempt from the recall deal.this is not right, the problem just about killed me when the wipers wouldn't work during a heavy rain fall event while driving on interstate 90/94.they know about this problem but won't pay to have it fixed.

My windshield wipers have failed. A recall campaign #03v159000, shows the 1994 c/k pickups have been recalled for this defect. I have contacted chevrolet customer service and was informed that my truck was not included in the recall. I'm concerned that the trouble exists and the safety recall doesn't apply to all vehicles with the problem.

So now i'm registering a complaint.this is a serious safety problem.my first occurance was on a city street, i was able to easly pull to the side fo the road and switched the wipers on and off several times and they resumed working.the second time i was on a local freeway at 65mph and they quit.almost had an accident since rear traffic almost re-ended me while i was trying to slow down so i could see.

On august 17,1999 my wiper motor and circuit board had to be replaced on my 1994 chevrolet k1500 pickup. I just recently learned that there had been a recall (03v159000) on this item due to defective solder joints on the controller board. After notifying gm by phone i was told that "my vin number was not one of the vehicles under recall-i also went to my dealer that had replace the parts and they also stated that my vehicle was not on the recall list. I feel that any vehicle that had a wiper motor and circuit board replaced by dealer should be reimbursed for the cost of that item because if it was not defective it would still be working.
