Takata inflators: i had left my house headed to work at approximately 6:30 am and got on i40 eastbound, it had snowed the day before and the roads had been treated and were clear for travel, i was traveling on a 3 lane highway in the left lane @ aprox 50mph and i applied my brakes to do upcoming traffic, when the abs system locked. I attempted to let off and re apply the brake but the abs system just stayed engaged and the front end started sliding hard to the left and i steered away from the pull. I subsequently hit the center concrete wall at approx. 40mph with the front passenger side of my car, which caused me to spin around and hit the passenger rear, i continued to spin until i was facing back east. My air bags did not deploy but it caused severe damage to core support and passenger side frame horn. It was a single vehicle accident and no damage was done to anything but my vehicle and myself, the abs did not release within what i approximate to be about 6 seconds and this so called safety device nearly killed me. I was wearing my seat belt.

While driving 70 mph the driver lost control of the vehicle and flipped over.neither of the frontal or side air bags deployed.it was later determined that the rear axle had broke which caused the loss of control.*nlm

The contact owns a 2003 chevrolet blazer. While the contact was driving approximately 25 mph, an opposing vehicle crashed into the driver side of the vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy with the impact. There was no personal injury. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle sustained severe damages. The failure was 263,000.

Dt*: the contact stated that both front airbags of the vehicle did not deploy during a crash which occurred while traveling 45 mph.the vehicle was headed east on a narrow, rough, bumpy road when it approached an intersection and struck another vehicle heading north.the other vehicle briefly stopped at the stop sign and pulled out into the intersection 15 feet before the contact's vehicle reached the intersection. This resulted inthe contact's vehicle crashing into the front driver side door of the other vehicle.both occupants were wearing their seat belts. The airbag warning light was not on prior to the crash.the police took pictures and a report was filed.the vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection.

Was hit byright side impact by a truck without brakes at a stop light. It was going 40 mph.coming down hill as i took off at stop light . Pushed across 3 lanes of traffic. Air bags did not deploy ! also i was hit on front right side panel . It later caused my instrument panel to not display the lights on warnings . Had to replace the panel . That's when i was informed that air bags will not deploy at all !but flashes on and off as you drive.

I was traveling southbound when i experienced a seizure and lost control of my vehicle. I proceeded to veer to the left where i clipped several cars that were headed northbound and had stopped due to the realization that my vehicle was not under control. I then proceeded over a tree lawn and into a parking lot. I hit a dodge ram pickup with the right front corner of my vehicle and pushed that vehicle into another parked car that was next to it. Both vehicles ended up sideways and my vehicle ended up spun around 180 degrees. At this time my vehicle came to a stop. Police were called an paramedics arrived. The jaws of life were used to extract me from my vehicle. I was taken to a local hospital where it was determined that i suffered burst fractures of l1, l2, and l3. I also suffered an evulsion fracture of my left ankle. The police report states that i was travelling at a high rate of speed and that the vehicles which were northbound were just clipped. The airbags are both still within their cases as neither deployed. I would expect this of the passenger airbag as that seat was unoccupied but the driver bag should have deployed. The insurance investigator even expressed to my wife that he was surprised that the air bag did not deploy. I was having a seizure and was not conscious so i cannot provide any information other than what is in the police report. The report is #370763 issued by the township of clinton, michigan. The vehicle is currently located at copard auto salvage, 21000 hayden, woodhaven, mi 48183. The phone number is 734-365-0070. It will be held there for between 7 and 10 days from 8/26/2013. Thank you

Two employees were involved in a crash where they were the ones that struck a stopped car at 50 mph. The air bags did not deploy....is this a problem. Is this a possible recall situation. Who do i contact about this a chevrolet??? does your agency get involved. *nlm

Rear ended a stopped pick up at 45 mph and air bags did not deploy. It was on a highway where the speed limit is 55. The whole front end was damaged but most was on driver side.

My 03 blazer has had its airbag lights on for some time now and i'm worried that if i get into a crash my airbags wont deploy, i'm scared also to see so many complaints along the same lines as mine. This problem needs to be addressed by the nhtsa or by gm before someone is killed or injured badly. A recall is needed!

Airbag recall.

While trying to avoid hitting a pedestrian vehicle went of the road and hit a tree.upon impact, front air bags did not deploy. Vehicle could no longer be driven due to the extensive damage done to the front end.

Consumer stated while traveling 45 mph or over on wet pavement vehicle lost control, and traveled off the road.rear hatch glass exploded , but air bags did not deploy at any time.

While driving 36 mph going around curb, the steering wheel failed to respond and remainedin the same position.this caused the vehicleto veer to oncoming traffic and resulted in a head on collision. None of the air bags deployed. The manufacturer of gmc sent an engineer to see the vehicle and didn't find anything wrong with the steering.gmc denied the report issued by the technician on this accident.please provide details.

The was a sensor on the dash which controlled the headlights. When the vehicle was under a tree or inthe garage, the headlights went dim. The dealer stated there was a code to over ride the system.the dealers had no access to the code.the sensor on the dash turned down the dash lights which made it impossible to read the instrument panel.at dusk the high beams came on without the driver's knowledge.the consumer is looking for the code that will allow the light to operate manually.

1. Speedometer acting erratically.2. Dealer wanted to charge $450 dollars to change speed sensor.i told him he was crazy.they reconnected.speedometer stared working again.3. 7 months later speedometer starts acting erratically.i search websites and find that many other owners of 2003 tahoes experience the same thing.ordered new speed sensor to for self installation.yet to install.4.speedometer starts working again after battery changed.5.runs for 5 days working fine then act erratic again.6.ready to change.7.thought i'd complain first.think this is a safety issue and something should be done about it.

I own a new 2003 chevrolet blazer... It is only 7 months old with only 7,300 miles on it. I was driving home tonight and heard a " clicking noise" which sounded like the turn signals were on... They weren't... When i pulled in my driveway and turned the blazer off (key switch in lock position) steering wheel locked in position, my blazer was still running ! my headlights were off, my inside lights were off, all panel lights were off, so my husband turned the inside panel lights, switch the blazer turned off... Something is terribly wrong with this... The whole system was like it went nuts... I have waited a few hours and since went back out there and tried it again... Same thing happened... And it all happened out of no where... The blazer has driven fine...no problems with it at all since purchase, but now there is also a clicking noise that can be heard under the hood when blazer is running (sitting still).*la

I was out late in a desolate area-no houses-no stores. I smelled burning rubber so bad i thought the car was on fire. I had no alternative but to continue driving.i was terrified, i am a senior citizen-female alone.i refused to drive it anywhere once it was parked.my mechanic was kind enough to pick it up.the dealer would not.it was the intake manifold.the car only has 44,000 miles on it.it cost me $466.26.i was truly terrified.

General motors has been putting daytime running lights on most of their vehicles that are too bright.these lights are so bright that one tends to turn one's head away or shield the eyes when approached by oncoming traffic.these lights can cause distraction serious enough to make a person ignore situations that can be dangerous.the extra glare from these lights causes extra effort to be put into the driving of a vehicle.also of importance is the subject of the unnecessary use of fog lights.most of these lights are so bright that they cause momentary blindness if viewed directly during nighttime driving.

My 2003 chevy blazer has had a faulty fuel gauge since the vehicle was purchased. It was taken into moran chevrolet in clinton township mi once for warranty repairs but the problem was never fixed. Service rep informed me that it was caused by a bad vehicle ground. Problem still persists to this day. The only way i can avoid running out of gas is to reset the trip odometer every time i fill-up.

The contact owns a 2003 chevrolet blazer. The contact stated the vehicle experienced an ongoing failure in which the fuel gauge constantly displayed an improper reading. The contact also stated due to the failure the vehicle stalled while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on numerous occasions in which the failure was never diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 12,000 and the current mileage was 60,000. The vin was unavailable.

I have a 02 blazer and i believe the fuel gauge is not working properly. After i have gone only about 40 miles on a full tank of gas the gauge shows ? full. Can that be correct? in the owner?s manual it states that i am to have an 18-gallon fuel tank. With an average of 20 mpg on the highway it should go to ? tank at about 90 miles.

Since purchase of vehicle in 10/2006, we had hesitation and stalling problems. With a 2003 chevy blazer.we had several full tune-ups, catalytic converter replacement (upon the advice of a dealership), fuel relay replacement, fuel filter replacement on two occasions, and the removal of two (2) factory rags that had been left in the fuel tank during the manufacturing of the vehicle.finally the replacement of the fuel pump in july 2008 -- total cost over $3,000.constant hesitation with the vehicle, and at least a few dozen stalling episodes with a couple of them happening on the garden state parkway in new jersey during business trips.upon purchase of replacement fuel pump, we found a product bulletin in the box stating "new improved connector and pigtail for gm fuel pump models".it went on to explain that many gm vehicles from 1988 to 2005 have electrical connectors on the fuel pump module that may become loose over time due to vibration, leading to faulty, high-resistance connections.the symptoms -- burned or melted connectors and pins -- lead to a voltage drop situation where low or no voltage can cause the module to stop pumping.the solution was that the oem design connector was replaced.we wrote go gm asking for reimbursement for at least the fuel pump and installation and stated that we believe that other owners of these vehicles should be immediately made aware of the situation (with more than a product bulletin on the inside of the new fuel pump box) as the stalling problem could have and could very well result in an accident with or without injuries/death when the vehicles just stall without warning whenever and where ever it feels like it.gm responded to my letter that they would be taking no action -- no reimbursement to me and no notification to any other owners of the problem.i told them this was not acceptable and that i would pursue the matter as far as i could to save injuries and possibly lives.

As the owner of a 2000 chevrolet blazer, coup (vin:[xxx]) i was looking forward to continue purchasing chevrolet vehicles in the future.however, a recent experience has made me hesitant in this regard.when i recently noticed that my gas gauge was giving questionable readings and i had no idea as to the amount of fuel still remaining in the tank i took the vehicle to the mechanics at selman chevrolet in orange.it was, indeed, determined that the fuel gauge sensor was not functioning correctly, but much to my chagrin i learned that it is not covered under warranty.this includes the extended warranty that i purchased from glendale nissan (member # [xxx])obviously i was surprised that an item so vital to safety is not covered.i can understand if it were an item requiring replacement after so many miles, but that is obviously not the case.i drive in heavy freeway traffic every day, many times with my 4 year-old daughter, and should i run out of gas the results would be disastrous if not deadly.in such a case who would be responsible if the vehicle ran out of gas due to a faulty reading of the gauge?are you aware that this item malfunctions and if so should it not be considered as a cause for recall or at the very least replaced at no cost to the customer?i have a number of concerns, one of which is whether or not you authorize the sale of a warranty(i purchased this as a pre-owned vehicle with approximately 25,000 miles on it from a reputable dealer) on your vehicle that has such limited coverage as the one that i purchased?also if i were to have purchased this vehicle new, would this item still be covered under the original warranty? information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Consumer had experienced loud thumping from the engine compartment. There were times when transmission got stuck in one gear for an extended amount of time. Vehicle was taken to the dealer four times for transmission problems.also, fuel gauge was not functioning properly.when gas was in the tank it could register full one minute and half full the next minute without moving the vehicle.manufacturer and the dealer had been notified.

1/10/2018, while driving on i-96, suv suddenly lost power in the middle lane at 72mph. I coasted vehicle to a stop in that lane, as heavy traffic would not allow me to pull over. My family of four were in that suv when the fuel delivery system failed. The fuel pump stopped working without warning.

I purchased this vehicle in february 2015 with 71,000 - the body was very well kept inside and out.what i didn't know was the extensive amount of rust and corrosion under the vehicle, which did not show initially.i have only had same a little over a year and have had to already replace front arm joints because they snapped in half and my tire was sitting crooked and in danger of falling off!! fuel lines had to be replaced because they completed rusted through and gasoline was leaking out all over.the driver door was checked 2x as it does not shut correctly and i can hear wind getting into the vehicle while driving (not to mention water pouring in over the driver's side door and door controls), the brakes go completely to the floor (despite being fixed), the abs light and check engine light stay on despite being checked - this truck design is terrible and it now rides and sounds like a bucket of bolts.i have had many trucks from gmc jimmy, chevrolet trailblazer, etc. - i have never had one that has gone completely sour in so short a time.i have also read the numerous accounts of people in accidents with this year vehicle and the brakes failing and airbags not deploying - i am seriously scared to drive this vehicle anymore.i am a single mother of 2 and thought i was purchasing a reliable vehicle for my family from a reputable company.i see that most of the complaints - if they were investigated by chevy - were deemed "no problem found" and swept under the rug.what do i do?!i have already spent over $1,000 to fix this vehicle and it still has issues - i simply cannot afford to keep sinking $$ into a vehicle that is going to bleed me dry.

I brought the vehicle on october 04, 2006. I have many problems with this vehicle. I don't even know what to do anymore. I have contacted the dealership plenty of times but they are no help at all. The vehicle has a transmission problem. I have taken it to the mechanic but they haven't been any help either. I have tried many times to get the dealership to help me since it hasn't even been a year since i brought it but they just told me that i bought it so it's my problem. Forthat reason i want to cancel the purchase of my vehicle.

We boughta 2003 chevy blazer in july 2006 with 18,700 miles.when in cruise control at highway speed, the transmission will downshift into 2nd gear instead of 3rd gear to maintain speed up a slight incline.this has happened numerous times since purchase.

2003 blazer ls 4x4, 29,000 miles, automatic transmission.we purchased this car in february 2004 with 21,000 miles on it.it currently has 29,000 miles.cruise control and transmission shift pointwe have owned this blazer for 5 months.immediately we noticed that when the blazer has the cruise control engaged, frequently when travelling at highway speeds, and the cruise control wants to downshift to third gear it will instead shift into 2nd gear.the downshift red-lines the engine to 5000 rpm.it has downshifted from 4th gear to 2nd gear around two dozen times in 7,000 miles. And recently it has downshifted to 2nd gear when the blazer was not on cruise control -- just when the driver is driving up a slight incline.soon after purchase of the car we returned it to champion chevrolet in reno, nevada, to have them fix this problem.they could not make the transmission downshift from 4th to 2nd gear.since the warranty expires at 30,000 miles, we again took it to champion chevrolet, to have them fix the downshift problem.service advisor chuck brown told us that the car was road tested and operates normally.he also explained that the over-rev situation is normal.we had a 1995 blazer which we owned and loved for 8 years and 200,000 miles and never experienced any type of downshift problem.we feel this situation is dangerous.for instance, we are driving along on cruise control on an interstate highway going 60-70 mph.the blazer tries to maintain its cruising speed while going up a very gradual hill.all of a sudden the car downshifts to 2nd gear, the rpm revs up to 4500-5000.immediately the driver has to unexpectedly turn off the cruise control while driving in heavy traffic.if this happens when going around a corner passing a truck, the "shock" by the driver trying to correct the situation could cause an accident.the "incident date" below is only a estimate as to the first time this happened.

Purchased new 2003 chevrolet blazer with manual transmission on 08/08/2003.i did not drive the car on 08/09/2003, but drove it again on 08/10/2002.twice on 08/08/2003, and four times on 08/10/2003, when starting from a stop, i experienced a significant failure of the transmission, which substantially impairs the use and safety of the vehicle.in first gear, with no warning, either visible, audible, or tactile, the transmission violently throws the gear shift lever out of first gear, bringing the vehicle suddenly into neutral.i have put about 100 miles on the car in total since i purchased it, and this has happened six times.i have been lucky, i have avoided being struck, but it is only a matter of time.i will be in touch with the dealership as soon as it is open to seek warranty repairs. *nlm

Noticed brake fluid on floor of my garage.found that the brake line to the rear brakes was rusted and leaking.gm dealer said it was out of warranty so i paid a local garage to install new brake line.it has failed again, 98,000, while i was driving.lost braking ability.i find that gm will sell me a set of brake lines for $500 and i can have them installed anywhere i want to.considering the current gm situation with the ignition switch i think they should be made to recall all effected vehicles and fix their rusting brake lines.

While pulling inside of the garage driver applied the brakes andpedal went to the floor.vehicle suddenly accelerated.consumer was not able to maintain control the vehicle. Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle did not response to steering input under normal road conditions. The nature of the failure was permanent but gradually worsened. There were no warnings prior to the failure. The service dealer was not able to determine the cause of the problem.

The contact owns a 2003 chevrolet blazer.everytime the contact opens the door of the vehicle, the interior lights consistently flicker on and off, especially in cold weather.as a consequence, the battery and alternator continue to fail and need replacing.the dealer stated that the failures were a normal characteristic of the vehicle and no remedy was available.secondly, he noticed that the fuel gauges were inoperative.when the fuel gauge dial indicates that the fuel level is at half a tank, the fuel warning light illuminates.thirdly, the contact had to replace the lower ball joints twice because they continued to fail.lastly, while idling at a stop light, the engine abnormally hesitates, which causes the steering column to vibrate.he took the vehicle back to the dealer, but they could not duplicate the failure or remedy the failures.the manufacturer was unable to assist.the failure mileage was 36,000 and current mileage was 39,450.

Body seams leaks water to the inside of my car.it was thought to be my sunroof, which dealer repaired and then replaced.the water caused all inside lights to short out (third repair).it was on the the fourth time to the service that it was found the actual body seams were leaking.

Crash- i was doing 25 mph when after hitting a deer swerved hit my front end on the corner of a hill and my vehicle went on to its side. Right passenger door on my 2003 chevrolet blazer 2 door drops when open and lifts up when closed.same situation as my 2004 four door blazer.upper and lower hinge pins and bushings failed causing the door to become difficult to open and close a real safety problem.

When it rained water seeped into the cabinof the vehicle and flooded it.dealership replaced the rubbers around the doors, but the problem still occurred. Consumer indicated thatwater was coming into the vehicle from somewhere under the dashboard.

2003 chevy blazer door safety issues. Consumer states that the doors will not close properly or will come open while driving. He states that he has had the pins and bushings replaced.

I opened the drivers door on my 2003 chevrolet blazer with only 13,000 miles and the door dropped down in my hands.the pins that hold the door hinge had partly lifted out. It would not have been out of the question for the pin to have fallen out completly in which case the hinge would have come completely apart and the door would have fallen off the vehicle.when i called the chevy dealer they were well aware of the problem. Apparently this happens all the time with s10 pickiups and blazers.aside from the frustration of such a shoddy design i am afraid to think of the effect of such a failure at 65 mph or of a door coming off in an accident as a result of faulty hinges.

Windshield cracked on driver side of vehicle,a few days later the crack turned and went toward the left.this happened for no apparent reason.i did notice prior to the cracking i heard popping sounds coming from the windshield when the temp.was cold and i had to use the heater. I own a chevrolet trailblazer 2003, and i ran into a recall problem with my windshield wipers. Www.nhtsa.dot.gov has provided information for gm's recall on all vehicles with a defect.nhtsa campaign number: 04v046000recall date: february 2, 2004potential number of units affected: 581,394i called my local chevrolet dealer, courtesy chevrolet in santa clara, california in order to get my car fixed since the problem is a defect on gm's part.i researched the problem and my car falls in the recall category, the staff at courtesy chevrolet did not fix my car on their expense because they said that my vin number was not in their system as one of the cars with a defect/recall: recall: a manufacturer's recall is a situation in which most vehicles produced in a production or tooling run has a severe enough flaw in a component or group of components in that continued operation of the vehicle without modification or repair could result in personal injury or death of the driver and/or occupants of the vehicle. This type of recall is known as a national recall. It is ridiculous that gm, a corporation looking to get the economy back on its own two feet, is not working with their customers to provide a great customer experience.i paid $540.00 in order for my problem to be fixed.i am really disappointed as a customer of general motors, due to poor customer service experience while trying to solve my mechanical problem, i regret buying a vehicle from gm.
