Consumer states several problems with vehicle *tgwthe consumer stated the vehicle had broke down a total of 9 times 5 of which the vehicle was towed back to the used car dealer.the fuel pump, battery, starter, studs and lug nuts all had to be replaced. Also, the bracket for the alternator,a bolt for the power steering, the pitman arm, hub wheel assembly, 4- wheel drive actuator and upper and lower ball joints all needed to be replaced.

While drivingvehicle would be missing/backfiring and blowing black smoke.went to emission control inspection,andvehicle didn't pass.also,fuel injection line in throttle body was a plastic line and itsplit. Filled upfuel injection system with gasoline.if there was a spark,vehicle would catch on fire.in addition,replaced catalytic converter/o2 sensor/ radiator cap/ brake rotors,and throttle body air valve. However, vehicle wasstill exhibiting the same problem.contacted dealer .

Consumer had to replace the front braking system. Also, replaced thermostat twice.

Nar 06/19/2003.*mrthe consumers vehicle was recently in a near collision which required emergency brake application, as a result of the emergency braking, the brake system no longer functioned properly and the engine idle had become very rough.

I have replaced the egr valve 3 times on this vehicle.i am having trouble with the vehicle running rough. I was told i have alot of carbon buildup around the egr ports and this is breaking/flaking off. The dealer said they would have to take the cylinder heads and intake manifold gasket and submerge in a hot tank of acid to clean the carbon off these parts. The repair quote was $1600.00 and there was no quarantee how long this would take care of the problems i am having with this vehicle.

Main engine bearing spun out, that requires a new engine.dealer was contacted, and stated that the consumer would be held liable for repairs.no explanation as to why engine failed.

When traveling at any speed the vehicle will cut of without prior warning.the vehicle has a diesel engine. Consumer has contacted the dealer, dealer has replaced the fuel injection pump with a rebuilt pump. The dealer replaced the fuel injection pump with used part and the problemreoccured.the consumer had requested for new pump but the dealer did not accept italso, sevice the engine light does not appear when the vehicle stalls.

By annual failure of electronic "injector driver" on gm 6.5 turbo diesel resulting in frequent stalling and almost leading to accidents@intersections. Unit replaced approximately 3 times slasting only 18 months or so.

Fuel injection system was replaced due to a leakage. It is very hard to start vehicle. When consumer turnsvehicle off it is still running; there is shaking withn vehicle, and it cuts off without prior warning. Also, there is a bad smell withinvehicle due to defectiveexhaust system. Driving the truck onto the interstate the engine just shut down for no apparent reason, and the truck had to be towed to a dealer.consumer states engine stalls at traffic lights and sometimes vehicle will not start at parking lots. Dealer can not find problem.

Driving 55mph when the vehicle would stall out completely, panel lights would come on before vehicle stalls or shuts down, had problem previously and delaer replaced egr valves but stalling still exists, vehicle runs rough, took back to dealer but nothing was found.

Engine failed due to a faulty regulator on newly installed cpi, which leaked fuel into the engine and presence of silicon in the engine from installation of gaskets, oil change not performed on vehicle when new fuel injection/cpi and gaskets were replaced, this allowed fuel, debris, etc to contaminate the engine, engine replacement compeleted 1/26/01.(attorney for client) cj

Abs brake failure; also, left front brake caliper was hanging up, causing premature brake pad failure.in addition, vehicle caught on fire, cause undetermined.

While on vacation engine stalled getting off exit.ran through intersection due to no breaks and sluggish steering.had egr valve replaced at local garage.same thing happend about 50 miles later.car was towed to chevrolet dealership, connected to computer system.we were told that chevrolet's fix for this was a new computer chip (prom).the valve has not failed since.this should be a recall item. If there had been anything at the intersection we drove though, someone could have been injured.not to mention this cost over $600.00 to diagnose and repair.

Egr valve makes car surge and die almost every year and we have to pay several hundred to change it out each time. ($50+ just to get the car checked by them so they can tell me its a code 32-bad egr then 2-3 hundred for part and labor). Of course i stopped using the dealerships and went to a small business mechanic and cut $100 off that. The other problem is the fuel pump has given out twice but my son has fixed it each time for me.

Replaced spider injector once, replaced egr valve 4 times, replaced both exhaust manifolds.the service rep told me the egr valve replacement is a very common problem.i checked with a dealer and apparently there is no recall on the spider injector nor egr valves which to me is a very dangerous situation when driving and the motor starts surging and dying.

Also, at 64,000 mile vehicle experienced a problem with starting.dealer notified ,informed consumer that problem was due to a fuel line failure. Vehicle description: pickup trucks, crew cabs, utility trucks and sport utility vehicles. These vehicles were built with the polarity of the wiring for the zero adjust brake switch reversed from what was specified on the switch drawing. With the reversed polarity, the contacts in the brake switch can wear out prematurely. The brake switch will perform normally until the brake switch contacts wear out, resulting in loss of the brake lamps without any warning to the driver. This is the same problem i have with my vehicle.plus, the cruise control will not shut-off becase the brake lights are not turned on when pushing down on the brake pedal.

I was never notified of a recall on my vehicle.i notified the company after my mechanic informed me about the recall.the recall had expired, but since i never received the information, i notified them, and only ask for reimbursement of the final repairs.i felt it was there responsibility, because of the failure to notify me.

1st issue; in sept/2000 i wrote a letter to nhtsa about having to replace the cfi unit.from what i understand, the cfi unit has been re-engineered because of many failures. The oem unit could cause cylinder wall damage, fuel can leak into the oil sump, posible engine fire and shortened engine life.i feel gm should be responsible for replacing this unit at full cost.2nd issue: my blazer started peeling paint on the hood in 2001.is their anything i do to get gm repaint my blazer?3rd issue; in feb/2003 my \\\\\\"antilock brake light\\\\\\" that\\\\\\'s on the instrument panel, comes on when the vehicle reaches a speed of about 18 - 20 mph and goes out when the vehicle slows below this speed. When the engine is started, it goes though a normal check of systems, the light is on for a short time and goes out, but comes on when you reach a speed of 18 - 20 mph.i\\\\\\'ve taken the blazer to a gm dealer for repair but the mechanic can\\\\\\'t figure it out.he clears all codes but it doesn\\\\\\'t fix the problem.the dealer hasn\\\\\\'t charged me any money for his time to date.

While driving 30-35mphsmall nipple that screws on to the intake manifold broke off, causing a loss of water & antifreeze. Had no warning. Taking vehicle to dealer.

Dt*:the contact stated while driving 35 mph the engine stalled as if the vehicle was out of fuel.the vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop for inspection.upon inspection, the mechanic replaced the fuel pump and sending unit which remedied the problem.the manufacturer was alerted.

After 30,000 miles fuel pumphas gone out and caused the vehicle to shut down in the middle of operation.

I experienced "hard starts" "engine run on" and "rough idle" for approximately three to five months.the problem was diagnosed as a leaking fuel injector.the gm dealer garage informed me that they "see this all the time with gm products" and that the leaking fuel presented a significant fire hazard.the garage stated that while gm will repair fuel injectors with california emissions, they will not do so with federal emissions.gm has been no help and told me i had no recourse to recover the money paid to replace the fuel injector (appoximately $700).it seems to me if the problem is common, presents a safety hazard, and has been the subject of an acknowledged problem, some investigation into this issue should take place..

I have a 1994 k blazer with a 6.5l diesel eng. I have had problems ever sence i have bought the truck new. Ever 15 t0 16 thousand miles i loose an enjector pump. It goes out a different way ever time a different way, the eng died on me going down the interstate at 70 miles an hou one time .i lliked to have got ran over before i could get it off the highway. Another time i was getting on the interstate in dallas in rush hour traffic, it died on me entering interstate 35. You talking about a cluster______.the rest of the time i was able to get it to the shop before it quet. On me. . how can one type of engine give so much trouble and know one can fix it. I payed over $2000. Dollars extra for tha t eng . I was going to trade in in this year on a new one. The dealer ship said they could only give me 5000. Dollers below trade- in value because they had so much problems with the 6.5l diesel.everyone that i have talked to that has this eng. Has had problems, and are still having trouble , but they keep on selling them. It looks there could be somthing that a person could do.

Gmc made a policy adjustment to 100,000 miles.mine failed at 102,000. A friend's injector failed at 66,000 and another at 105,000.

Recall 94v-093 000, power train:auto transmission; vehicle experienced a no park conditionwhile engine was running, causing unintentional movement of vehicle without operation action. Dealer notified, and informed that consumer vehicle was not part of recall. Seeking help from nhtsa in this matter.

After purchasing used vehicle i noticed a hesitation when put into reverse.soon after the clutch occasionally slipped when in reversed. 3 weeks after having transmission serviced, reversed was completely out and put a factory rebuilt trans in.

At speeds above 40 mph the 4 wheel drive had been engaging by self the past month, sometimes in low mode.very loud gear noises, shuddering,vibration & significant sudden decrease in speed. Occurrence is dangerous at any point, but most critical when approaching a toll booth. An inexperienced driver could readily lose control of vehicle. Latest incident (date given) so violent & can't disengage 4 wheel drive,the suv is parked until repaired. Independent repair shop will examine, & hopefully repair at reasonable cost, the vehicle week of 8/1-5/05.

Antilock brake system module may malfuntion while vehicle is in 4wd, causing extended stopping distance.

Driver's side front seat/shoulder belt will not retract.it is fully extended and will not retract to tighten on the shoulder.it stays completely loose.this is for a 1994 full size chevy blazer.

Dt:the vehicle is a 1994 chevroletblazer.the manufacturer'srecalls 99041 and 99046 concerning brake failurewere issued.when the consumer contacted the manufacturer they told himthat this vehicle's vinwas covered under the recalls. However, when they put in the vin no recalls were shown, but they agreed that they fell within the recall specification.they were not doing the recall work.someone told him that it might be because vehiclewas too old to be fixed.alsonhtsa recall97v096000 for the seat belts was issued. The consumer's vehiclewasexperiencing the same problems asstated in the recall.the issue with the brakes started on8-15-05.previously the brakes had to be replaced.there have been no accidents as of yet.

I purchased a car form zetz auto 34 days ago.i returned the 1994 chevy blazer for repair due to the brakes going out while i was driving.the repair shop associated with this company made the repairs.i also complained about the front end frame making a cracking sound with every turn and while driving.the repair shop stating there was nothing wrong with it. Today, 3/21/08 i delivered the vehicle to the repair shop for a safety inspection.i called to confirm the repair.the owner stated over the phone it was the tires, they are too big for the vehicle.i stated these are the same new tires that came with the car. No repairs will be done to the frame or axle, which i was told was probably wrong.the third complaint was with the front passenger seatbelt unlatching while i had a passenger in the car.i left several calls on their voice mail with no response.

In re: seat belts: the inertia reels on the front belts (both sides) of my vehicle are inoperative 99% of the time. Yanking the belts engages the reels only occasionally. The ones in the showroom vehicles engaged every time. Research on the web reveals this to be a common problem and that chevrolet is charging almost $300 each to replace the defective units!. Inre: the abs brakes: i was towing a boat and had to slow, quickly, for a yellow light turning red. As the abs engaged i lost my brakes and went right through the intersection! the brakes are in great mechanical condition. Again, searching the web for information, i am steered to the wheel sensor wires in the front. The word is that the wires are badly routed, subject to damage, and cause loss of braking. There are numerous reports on bulletin boards of costly repairs to the wires following braking system failure!

Both front seat belt retractors are failing to operate. Will not retract, which causes the belts tobecome inoperative. Dealer notified, and refused to repair unless cost goes to consumer. Seeking help from nhtsa in this matter.

Both rear shoulder belts continued to tighten on the rear occupant while traveling. Manufacturer notified and refused to help.informed consumer vehicle was out of it warranty. Feel free to provide any further deatails.

The lap belt becomes frayed at entry point into seat belt assembly. I looked for a replacement at several salvage yards and all of the 2 door s-10 blazers had this defect.

The vehicle's seat became loose, too much movements on the seat (according to the comsumer). The dealer had taken care.

I was driving down the road, came to a stop sign, then started to accelerate. All the sudden my seat back broke and fold backward, in a laid down position, almost causing me to crash. A few months later, the passenger side seat back did the exact same thing. I removed the broken seats, and installed two non adjustable seats from a old aurora, using the original seat bracket, which bolts the seat to the floor pan. These seats are unsafe also, because when i replaced the seats, the bolt holes in the floor became stripped while removing the bolts. I cannot safely drive the vehicle any longer.

Driver's seat broke in half, bolt that holds the seat to the botton has broken and torn in half ,has alot of play in it,. Dealer said this was regular wear and tear,replaced and rebuilt/changed design of seat.

I was driving home early this morning, after doing a little hill climbing the night before with a friend. On the way home i was driving under the speed limit, when the vehicle about 3 seconds in front of me stopped, i immediately hit the brakes, the brakes did not work properly, causing me to hit the rear end of the car in front of me, causing damage to both vehicles, i received a traffic violation, and a neck sprain.

Vehicle braking has seemed to be unpredictable. Abs will seem to take over when unnecessary under normal braking situations causing unexpected extended braking distance. We were informally told by several mechanics that that is just how abs is so we assumed that it was just a poor design not covered by any warranties for the second owner so we did not pursue it further. In addition, we had a rough running condition that was diagnosed as the egr valve clogged with carbon deposits. The engine idled rough, had a strong odor and had intermittent brake failure (hard pedal) causing it to be very difficult to stop. We had the engine "motorvac'd" to clear carbon deposits and had the egr cleaned. It ran well for about a week then back to the same symtoms. We were told it would just ruin a new egr if we replaced it again so we have not determined what to do with it. Also the "check engine" light comes on and off throughout these episodes

Called/ emailed gm and although i had a failure the day after my new brakes were dealer installed and even though i have a blazer in the years recalled i am not subject to the recall. This really upsets me because i could injured someoneon the street on in my car and they continue to pretend that this did not happen. Right front wheel hub anti lock brake sensor failed.this resulted in the vehicle having no brakes and on two occasions not being able to stop at/for stop signs with near misses each time.as the brakes did not engage the dealers at first thought that the cruse control was not disingaging when the brake was depressed and that this resulted in the car driving itself thru the brakes.but a computer diagnostic check revealed that the anti anti-lock brake sensor was experiancing intermittent failures and that this was why the brakes were not working.dealer mechanics told me that they had no service bulletins for this type of failure.they also said that when the anti lock brakes fail the vehicle should still brake safely with standard brake system.but in this case the defective sensor was causing the system to not brake at all.

Dealer replaced this at my expense due to me almost having a serious accident. The passenger side seat does not lock in place all the time and has almost thrown people into my windsheild. This problem has been to the g.m. Dealership 3 times to be repaired, and has yet to be repaired. This was even while this vehicle was under warranty.

The recall that chevy has issued is for 94' but they tell me that mine doesn't fall within the vin # that they are recalling.this is going to be a real problem within a month or so when we have snow because rain doesn't work for that.i have called chevy and the customer service representative that i spoke to has informed me that they are getting a lot of calls daily from people who own 94 vehicles who are having problems but are not part of the recall because of their vin #'s.*la

When vehicle is first started the windshield wiper will run and won't stop. It sometimes stops any place across the windshield. Then would have to play with the switch until it stops in the down position. The wiper fluid cannot come out on front window unless the vehicle has warmed up approximately 20 miles after started. Consumer had the problem before. Dealership replaced pulse delay circuit board on march 18, 1996, three months later the problem started again.

Identical problem to existing nhtsa # 98v150001 covering windshield wiperscircuit boards produced between aug. 1994-may 1996.manufacturer does not include this vin# in their recall, the part is as defective and as much a safety consideration as other identicle vehicles that carry a different vin#. All faulty circuit boards should be included in the recall.

Wipers are inop, was told by dealer and gm that truck was not covered by recall #98043, on recall vehicles involved it shows a 94 chevrolet tahoe 2 dr,(witch they did not make til 95, it was stilla blazer in 94), plant code j, vin from rj421569 to rj447588. Consumer statedthat was having the same problem as stated inrecall onwindshield wipers. Dealer will not repair because vinasnot included. Recall number unknown.

While driving in the rain windshield wipermotor will run, but windshield wiperswill not work. Dealer contacted.

Consumer turned on windshield wipers and they did not work.they failed in the middle of a rain storm, causing consumer to lose visibility. Consumer had taken vehicle in for an oil change when it was mentioned to the dealer about the windshield wipers.dealer advised it would be difficult to pin point the problem unless the wipers were malfunctioning at that time.the problem with the wipers however has been frequent.wipers fail in dense fog, most failures occur when trying to wash the windshield.wipers have failed at the initial turn on and during use.*jg

Failing wiper motormotor fails to turn on or fails during operation.recall was issued for other similar full size trucks but did not include the full size blazer for 94.truck has the same engine and components as the c/k pickups.wiper motor and component circuit board are identical as stated in the recall and fails in the same manner as descibed in the recall notice from manufacturer to dealer.recall number is recall bulletin 03023.

Windshield wiper failure.moving harness will cause wipers to function. Delco double sided board (pcb 22122142 rev. A) failed. Replaced with delco p/n 12463090 (superseded p/n 12463017). Failed part available upon request.

The windshield wipers while on, stopped working suddenly in misting rain. Next day started working again . They stopped after a couple of minutes.called dealership, was tolded it could be on recall , took vin# and was informed this truck was not.truck is same body style as the ones on recall. Why not this one ?

Lug nuts on passenger and driver wheels continue to break while driving.tt
