I have heard of problems with brettas and cavaliers with head gaskets and crack heads.
Engine gaskets are defective.there have been several bulletins regarding this problem but never a recall.there is a replacement part for the defective gaskets.
When vehicle slows to approx. 15 mph or below it occassionally stalls.to restart engine, transmission must be in park.after start, engine must be reved several times.temperature guage reads very high continuously.
After two years a new motor had to be installed because the motor locked up.tt

While driving a column of smoke developed from the top of the steering column, directly in front of the driver.this occurred approximately one mile after noticing that the turn signal did not seem to operate properly during a turn.the smoke was also accompanied by the smell of an electrical fire.immediately stopping the car and turning off the ignition stopped the smoke.the car was then driven approximately 5-10 miles to the dealer with no further smoke.the chevrolet dealer stated that the problem was caused by the turn signal switch shorting out.the switch was then replaced.the service advisor reported that there was no recall regarding this failure even though the turn signal failed in such as way that there could have been danger to occupants of the car.obviously, the manufacturer did not use a fail-safe design when this car was built.

Engine overheats/smells hot due to intake manifold gasket.
Owner states that fuel tank leaks due to faulty plug. Owner is very concerned about this problem because the fuel tank in this vehicle sits under rear seat.

The car has total brake failed,abs brakes did not work at 5 mph. Tt consumer was leaving parking garage, he started engine pulled out of parking lot, and started up ramp about a 45% angle, consumer put his foot on the brake and the brake pedal went to the floor, consumer did this two more time but nothing happened, consumer crashed into a guard rail to avoid hitting a vehicle in front of him, and vehicle came to a stop, and also air bag did not deploy because there was no head on collision, after the accident engine was still running and consumer's foot was on the brake, a week prior consumer's wife complained that brakes seemed soft went to mechanic but said brakes were fine just a little wear on the brakes.

While switch is turned on, the anti-lock brakes won't work until the abs light comes on.

Brake system squeaks and jerks when starting to drivevehicle for the day. Front rotors were resurfaced and brakes were adjusted, but jerking and noise still continue.
The braking on the car works when it wants. You apply the brakes and you have a full brake pedal then the next thing you know the pedal goes to the floor almost all the way, as if you were applying manual brakes. It doesn't matter how fast you go . I have been backing out of my garage and the brakes fail, and i can be going down the highway and they fail. I have had my car at the dealership numerous times for brake work and i get the same responce each time(we can't find anything wrong), now finally on the fifth time the put the car on some kind of computer and they told me that my abs modulator was bad. I have been told by the dealership that this is a ongoing problem with berretta & corsica. Please contact me with any further information regarding my problem...........thank you !!!!
Once the car had a brake problemithas now gotten worse.dealer was contacted and attempted to fix it, but couldn't find the cause.

Left rear brake locked up/right rear brake isn't functioning at all, putting all stopping poweron front brakes, causing premature wear of brake pads and rotors.
Steering column and turn signalbecame loose due to loose bolts within the steering column. Dealerindicated bolts needed to be replaced.

All four wheel bearings have failed and need replacing.tt consumer states firestone service noted excess free play on bearings, consumer then took vehicle to dealership and confirmed what firestone stated, manufacturer offered to pay half of the $800 consumer declined offer.
Heater blower motor failed.
